▽ Why did you create this muse?

So in 2011-ish, I joined an apocalypse original character rp forum that I still hold so near and dear to my heart, as it was the first ever oc-only rp I'd ever joined. I had Lyndsy's face in mind when I set out to write there, but the goal was to write a character compleeeetely not like myself. I wanted to write a very brash, very loudly herself type of character that had a billion flaws that I could still connect with despite the opposites, and she kind of just exploded in my brain and never looked back.

Now for the reason about why I have been writing her for over 10 years now is definitely a question I even ask myself. I often come back to her because of her resilience, especially in uncertain times. In a way, Echo almost uplifts me to do better and push through tough times? I know her like the back of my hand, so it's extremely easy for me to situate her into any universe.

Ohhhhhhh boy. I get to date myself again. Lol.

I am 32. I started writing when I was around.... 13?

I can't remember exactly how long after it was... but it was sometime shortly after my biological father passed away. My mom and I were living in a pretty nice place. This was also before my little brother was born, back in the days when mIRC was the most popular chat room this side of anything. Lol. God, mIRC... I kinda miss those days, tbh?

ANYWAYS, to digress, I was on mIRC all the FLIPPING time. Back then, it was an escape from not having any friends because I was a lonely little bean who didn't have anybody to talk to in school and was basically by herself all the time outside of the little bit where I would get picked on by people who pretended to be my friends and the few people who maybe actually gave a damn about me. Roleplaying was my place where I felt like somebody actually cared and LORD was it a mess.

Honestly, it was a real mess. I was friends with a guy who roleplayed with me and then later confessed that he had been 'hired' or 'asked' by people to see if I was 'cheating' on them or something like that. I don't even remember it was so ridiculous. Back then, the roleplay community on mIRC was so invested in it. I think there was another used I 'engaged' to or something. My entire life was spent with these weird people that took things way too seriously. Lol.

There ya go. Bread-mun is ancient and from the days of the weirdos. Then again, has that really changed so much?

☢ Are there any ships that you would like to write for one day? Any that you wouldn't?

Honestly, anything goes! I never discount anyone out of a ship with Echo. Because she's an original character, I take every single new character she meets as a fresh slate so I treat every character as 'new', canon or original like.

I never like putting a connection in a box of 'can never ship' because I enjoy characters telling the story for me. Chemistry is crucial to a ship imo, both in ic and ooc, and I've had situations where there is a new reply and Echo goes '...oh shit?' and I go 'oh no.' SLKDJFKLSDF I love enemies to lovers, childhood friends, miscommunications, exes, 'we shouldn't but here we are', 'we are cut from the same cloth', 'i can fix her - no i can make her worse', slow burns, etc.

the tl;dr of all of that is 'i'd like to write the ship i have yet to discover for her, and there are no limits to what could be a ship in the future'

Part of a series of Shipping Challenge Prompts for @robotnik-mun, this time featuring Julie-Su and Knuckles for D3 ("Mermaid x Human”). Decided to take the prompt pretty literally so I gave Julie a humanized design and designed Knuckles' mer-form to match, complete with An Elaborate Backstory about how Julie is a former pirate whose crew is trying to find and capture The Sunken Island, where Mer-Knuckles lives.
