i’m sorry you have to deal w so much stupidity irt Clawdeen. even as a kid who didn’t live stateside it was clear to me that she was largely inspired by american black women of the 90’s, and it’s wild that people can’t see how the fact that mattel is pulling away from that after benefiting economically is problematic.
Had you asked some of these people back before this reboot came out, they would shout at tell you Clawdeen and her family weren't Black at all
So to have people deny such an obvious fact, and then turn around to say Mattel is doing good by making her afro latina? Yeah it just comes across phony ngl
They treat it as though young African American girls are not "progressive" enough to sell to an American audience this day in age.
"You don't want mixed/mulitcultural people to have representation" my mixed/multicultural ass begs to differ. I'd love to see that stuff
My issue is that these people never want to explore these stories and lifestyles other than the "I don't belong in either group" basic ass scenarios
Like if Clawdeen's father is really Haitian Creole, you're telling me they couldn't use that background, and connect that to the werewolf stories in Haiti?
Considering they didn't make Lagoona pink to base her off the Amazon river dolphins, something that connects her with the Creature of the Black Lagoon(a monster that comes from the Amazon River), I doubt they put this much thought into these things
And it sucks. You have all these cultural references right there, and do nothing. Just have Clawdeen eat tamales and say "muy bueno" and that's all the representation we need. That and the spicy savage latina characterization of Lagoona, who never was depicted as so when she was depicted as a mixed white Australian girl
Yall gonna talk about character development, at least do something interesting with these racial backgrounds that doesn’t just turn them into stereotypes. Hell, maybe then they can come up with a better plot other than "fantasy racism and the struggles of being mixed"

Lissette Feliciano Triumphs with Feminist Dramedy Women Is Losers
Lissette Feliciano gives a big nod to the women's movement with her @sxsw film @WomenIsLosers @WIL_Film #womenislosers #sxsw #sxsw2021 #sxswfilm #podcast
Women in America have always been given a raw deal. Having been denied equal rights to vote, purchase land, have the right to make sound decisions regarding birth control, the right to have an abortion, hold a job with equal pay or consistently dismissed and disregarded for no other reason than our gender. Director Lissette Feliciano takes the feminist mantle and turns it into a coming of age…

"Envoys"
Somebody really needs to tell Boimler about shapeshifters. First the egg lady, then with the Andorians...
I noticed that sometimes Rutherford's cybernetic eye 'closes' (turns into a straight line rather than the round dot) when his other eye does, and sometimes it doesn't. Probably just slightly inconsistent animation.
Boimler's promising not to tell anyone about Mariner's mix-up with the Ferengi in the shuttle and then him telling everyone at the bar in front of Mariner is a dick move. Sure, she arranged the Ferengi encounter to boost his confidence and therefore doesn't really care, but Boimler doesn't know that and even then. Although, when did Mariner find the time to contact her Ferengi friend? Presumably after Boimler tossed his combadge and all. Did she call the Ferengi right after we cut away and then go to try and find where Boimler went?
I do really like seeing Little Qo'nos and the Risan and Andorian areas. Makes me wonder about interplanetary immigration and multiculturalism though. Worf is a Klingon raised on Earth, and we do get to see occasional glimpses of his Russianness along with his Klingonness, but that's all that I can think of off the top of my head. But what about other species growing up on planets different from their parents'? What about Andorians growing up on Qo'Nos? Tellarites on Bajor? What is that like?
Rutherford's plotline in this episode is delightful. Everyone is just so supportive of him everywhere and encouraging him to try new things and find what he likes best, and it's wonderful. Also appreciate the appreciation for biological systems.
Although, didn't Rutherford have to do any combat training? He seems pretty clueless during his brief stint in Security, at least until his cybernetic implant helps out.
And on minor background (or I guess technically foreground in this case) characters, at the bar there was that Andorian with grey hair. So I suppose Andorians dye their hair, which would make sense, since white is generally pretty easy to color. Now we just need Andorians going for more colors.

Poem Spotlight: Multiculture Abroad
They want me to speak a poem
a poem like they say West Indians speak about rice and peas and carnivals and mango trees and multicultural things like that.
They want me to perform a poem a poem like they say the Blacks perform with black english and tenor pans and bongo drums and musical stuff like that
They want me to write a poem a poem that would prove how multi culture is and it makes me think about living here and writing there and migratory stuff like that

I am officially the translator of my house bitchessss
LMAOOOO IM GONEEEE my mom and brother just got into an argument because she didn’t understand what she was saying LMAFOOO
He was saying that he’s doing fine in quaratine because he’s an introvert and doesn’t like to go out a lot, but my mom misudnerstood him and thought he said that she doesn’t take him anywhere, which is why he’s used to it (she turned it into a personal attack, as always). So then she started yell-ranting at him the way she used to yell at me when I was also 14, and it was just fucking bullshit. It literally brought back all the memories of when I was 14 and we would have a fight every single fucking day at least 5 times a day because she would misunderstand/mistranslate what I was saying. That was part of why it was so hard to do well in school because every time I went home, I couldn’t focus on homework, I would have to bascially learn to survive in a battlefield that I was forced to call home. My brother doesn’t understand (or he did), so I let her yell at him for a while, but then I felt bad for him, so I translated for her what he actually said, but she was still mad so she kept on yelling at him and my dad even yelled at him too. (My dad always automatically sides with my mom, even when her points are invalid). Usually, my dad isn’t at home to side with my mom, so it’s usually just her yelling at me and taking out all her anger on me (that’s what she does, take out her anger on specifically me or my dad because we look alike), but when my dad is at home, he always sides with her so it’s 2 parents AND my brother against me because he thinks I’m a dumb slut that will never amount to anything in life. Good thing he’s not always at home, because when he is, my mom is a lot more stressed and when she’s stressed, she loves to take it out on me. I guess this turned into a rant because everything is coming back now? My mom says that teenagers are moody when they hit 14, but that’s not true, she just gets harder on all of us when we hit 14. I’ve seen it, she suddenly stopped treating my brother well when he hit 14. It’s crazy because I know he’s the favorite. Like she will say that she loves both of us equally, and yes in the moment that’s true, but when a fight breaks out, she’s always on my brother’s side and ready to disown me. It happens unconsciously, it’s okay, I get it.
My mom treats all 14 year olds very badly, namely me and sometimes my brother. The reason why she doesn’t treat him badly is that he is the favorite (so she literally controls her anger for him and waits until she sees my face to release it on me) and because he has really bad anxiety. I also had things going on my freshman year, but she didn’t seem to care because she brushed it off as me being a teenager and never took me seriously when I told her to stop yelling because I’m in the middle of a mental breakdown. Compared to my brother, I was always able to control it better than him because I never broke down in front of her. But that was because I knew that if I had broke down in front of her, she wouldn’t care. It was evident in the ways that she treated me when I told her my mentality was not ready for yelling. Every time I said I really needed her to stop yelling because it was negatively affecting my mental health, she told me that she was doing me a favor because when I go out in the real world, people aren’t going to be nice. But what’s crazy is that she was the rudest person that I met that year, and it’s crazy because even the bullies were nicer than her. Like yeah, they didn’t apoligize, but they didn’t bring up old shit after we talked it all out. They knew that it wasn’t the best time for us to be talking, and just distanced themselves. Now THAT’S THE MATURE TYPE OF SHIT I WANT! I wanted her to just not talk to me, because every time we did, it would just end up as us arguing and her slamming doors to “win the argument” and all that sick shit. I wanted her to get a fucking job so she could give my mental health a break, but she never did that. I remember when she was gone for 2 weeks to train for her potential business opening, I was so so SOOOO happy. I hadn’t felt so free in so long. I was happy because she wasn’t there to pick a fight with me over the smallest things, AND she would’ve been finally happy! I was so excited for her dream to finally come true, but I guess that didn’t happen because she was too scared to start. She’s always been like that, she’s had so many opportunies come her way, but she never took it. She was too scared to take risks. So then her depression got worst, and she ended up taking out all her anger on me. I shouldn’t be too mad at her because she has depression and her life was awful because she was sick of her dreams not coming true. But she needs to understand that if she wasn’t going to do anything about it, then nothing was gonna get better and none of her dreams were gonna come true! She always let the opportunity come to her, but she never acted on it. I always showed her many, many, many opportunities and supported her in whichever job or business that she wanted to open, but she never accepted anything. She would always say, “Ah cool.” and never try to actually do something to make her life better. I respect her, she was always researching which franchise or type of business would be the most profitable, but she never took the last step to open up the damn business. She always turns it back on me and says that I wouldn’t be able to be “independent” without her. But damn she must’ve forgotten, because I was SOOOO INDEPEDENT freshman year. That’s one of the things that made her more depressed and angry with me because it made her feel worthless. All her life (since I was born at least) , her only job was to be a mother and take care of us. Then, when I started to learn how to do things on my own so that I could avoid her yelling, it made her feel threatened. She saw that she was worthless and no longer needed in the family, which is why when she saw me learning to do something new, she always stopped me from doing and did it herself. One of the main things is cooking. I would ask her how to make something like Chicken and Potatoes for dinner, and while I was making the chicken, she would be yelling at me the entire time on how I’m doing it wrong, instead of teaching me. The she’d keep on yelling at me until I had to walk away for the sake of my mental health, and then she’d call me a quitter and lecture me on how I’m not as “good” as all the other kids. Now I get it that not everyone in the ‘‘real world’’ is gonna like what you do. But let’s be real here, yelling at a first timer while they’re trying to simply pick out a pan for the food is pretty harsh. Like just tell me the steps for how to cook chicken like a normal person would do, and then I’ll know. Don’t scream at me and then expect me to make a whole damn meal for you, nah, my mental health is still important to me. So the thing is, she would want me to “be like the other kids” and learn how to do things on my own, but she also didn’t want me to be able to fully do it because she felt threatened by my learning. I’m sure it was hard for her to see me grow into an adolescent, but seriously, how SELFISH is it for her to hold me back from learning to do things on my own because of her feeling threatened by me? And again, I get it, you don’t want to see your little baby be all grown up now, but seriously, that’s so fucking selfish. So I had to pretend to be dependent on her, and not cook or do anything because that was the best way to avoid conflict. So now I’ve unfortunately become dependent on her by yielding her and letting her do everything. Even today (yes it’s the post before this one where she told me to starve myself), I was going downstairs and ready to take some soup out of the pot on the stove, but she told me that was actually just my dad’s pork. So I told her, “alright no problem”, I’ll just heat up some leftover rice. But she said there’s no left over rice, so I was like “Okay I’ll just make some.” I couldn’t find any grains, so I went get some bread and she started rudely laughing at me. The wicked kind of laugh that makes my blood boil. I asked her why she was laughing and she said “HAHHAHAH me and your brother ate all of it! We ain’t leaving any for you! You wake up late as fuck, that’s why there’s no food for you haha!”. That was so rude. SHE went to bed early because I took care of her and nursed her to bed last night. I’m not bad about her not leaving food for me, I’m mad about her blatant rudeness. Oh crap my head is hurting from how mad I am... I’ll be back. Okay I’m feeling better now with my head and my emotions so after that, I took out a box to make pancakes and she went, “Oh, why don’t you just starve yourself? It’ll be easier that way :) You don’t have to make food, just starve yourself.” I wanted to talk back so badly, but I knew that would make things worst, so I just took out a hotpocket and microwaved it. It wasn’t until after I had made everything and finished eating, she was like “I knew you could do it, good job :D”. Like nah this ain’t no tough love, this is dillusionment and you taking all your anger out on me (I know she was angry the moment I walked down into the kitchen) AND feeling threatened that a child will take away your career. Hmmm, it be like dat sometimes.
Y'all wasn't tuned in back then (Nah) My swag, they keep jackin' (Keep on jackin') I ain't doin' no verse, quit askin' (Quit askin') What's poppin'? (Pooh, you a fool for this one)

“...originally the center was intended to meet the needs of the Filipino immigrant community, which, because of their jobs, were away from home well into the afternoon. However, a few months after the center opened, an Albanian father inquired about a place for his daughter. “He asked us if the center was only for Filipino children, as originally, it was,” recalls Valencia, who has been the director of the center since the beginning.
“He was an immigrant like us, so we didn’t have the heart to turn him away.” That’s how it all began, and other immigrant families followed. Today the center hosts 28 children, from the ages of one to five, from 13 different communities. “Apart from children of Filipino descent, we have children from Albania, Pakistan and Bangladesh, and two from Chinese families. We also have children from Ethiopia, the Balkans, and of mixed origin: half Greek, half Filipino,” notes Valencia.
At first, young children from such diverse cultural backgrounds coexisting in the same space might be challenging, as the languages of instruction are English and Greek, and each child has his/her own mother tongue. But consistency paid off. “It’s worked out beautifully, because various cultures come together, and it’s a way to prepare children to integrate into the society in which they were born. They learn to respect diversity, but also to appreciate, on the other hand, their own unique culture,” Valencia points out.
The center opens after 7am and closes at 6:30pm – children eat, sleep and play there, essentially spending more time at Munting Nayon than with their parents. For this reason, the staff offers as much as possible to their upbringing while providing workshops for parents and training seminars for the teachers. “It’s a continuous educational process.””

New Laws
Emperor's Office, Palais de Roufort
David: It is refreshing to see you again. Between us, I was quite pleased when you won the Office of Prime Minister. It is nice to work with an old friend again.
Senja: It is an honor to once again work with you Your Imperial Majesty. It has been far too long. It was nice to run into all the familiar faces again. David: And your family is well? Senja: Yes sir. My son was happy to know that I'd be seeing you today. He sends his best wishes to the Grand Duke of Anjou and his girlfriends.
David: I will let the three of them know...infact, they are the reason I wanted to see you this afternoon. Senja: You want to change the laws to allow them to marry. David: Yes. Senja: Now...This motion has popular support but getting it through will be a bit difficult. David: I see...
Senja: It isn't impossible! There is a worry about possible abuses by a partner. Lots of some people are possibly saying that this is...unpierrelander due to polygamy never being a tradition here while it was a practice in Oderia. David: But, in Oderia, the man is obligated to treat his spouses equally, and the government does keep track of the equalness. I know I have proposed that the Empire adopts the system. Senja: Which is quite wise Sir. I do forsee a small precent of the populous to claim well... David: Then we will strike against it. This Empire is mulitcultural and you know that I refuse to have a government that tolerates the hatred. Senja: I'll see what I can do about the bill sir. Don't worry.

"Ah... Emperor Claudius?" Artoria raises a weak digit as she watches the shortstacked Red Saber feast to her heart's content. "I...wasn't aware that you were one to indulge quite so...decadently."
"Mmm...mmmph?"
Looking up from the feast she had been tearing into, a spread of food sampled from all corners of the world, Nero had been doing her best to enjoy the mulitcultural aspects of living in Chaldea. Wiping her lips clean as she finished yet another overfilled bite, the tiny terror hummed in delight.
"Why thank you, King Pendragon~! I strive in all things to show how beautiful decadence can be, and I appreciate that you can spot such enjoyment~!"
...And perhaps see that the two chairs holding her up are so burdened that they're nearly touching the ground.

☞About my first commi$$ioned illustration.
NO NIIN is a new online Finnish magazine created by Vidha Saumya and Elham Rahmati. The magazine deals with subjects related to art, race and equality, poetry, life in Finland and music. It is a breath of fresh air into the Finnish art scene, and they are not afraid to be critical and point out that maybe Finland is not the equality paradise it seems to represent.
They contacted me through instagram so this is my second job obtained through that hellish app. I made the illustration for Riikka Kuoppala’s essay on how creatives and designers need to be careful before signing contracts.
Long live cool mulitcultural Finnish magazines like NO NIIN and SALARAKAS.

I am rlly bad at wording things, sorry in advance. When you see a representation that is Viet, do you feel represented or relate to it, even if it is not American-Viet? for example: Kieu My in Druck, she is Viet, but also German, and grew up mulitculturally. I hope I make sense, feel free to disregard if not.
hm. good question, anon! i guess the thing about it is there’s just not a lot of representation of viet people in mainstream western media at all. like in western media you either have viet characters who aren’t played by viet people - e.g Diane Nguyen in Bojack Horseman played by Alison Brie who is a white woman - or viet actors playing characters who aren’t viet - e.g Lara Jean in To All the Boys I’ve loved Before as a mixed-korean girl being played by Lana Condor; very, very rare in western media to get a viet character played by a viet actor that isn’t in the context of the vietnam war. so i guess generally it does depend on how the character is written and if the viet part of their history is actually incorporated well into their story but yeah, i would say i tend to feel a strong connection to viet characters when they do appear, and i’m sure part of that is because i’m not used to seeing people who look like me on screen but also i’m pretty much always going to relate more to a character of color [particularly if they’re asian just bc of my specific background] than a white character.
Wrt Kieu My specifically - for me as a member of the viet diaspora i admittedly find it a lot easier to relate to another member of the Viet diaspora than a character from vietnam bc i didn’t grow up in vietnam, i grew up in a predominantly white society as a child of vietnamese immigrants, so characters like Kieu My and i definitely don’t have all the same experiences but i can still see myself a lot in her story - for example her line where she talks about how part of the pressure she feels is to do right by her parents bc they sacrificed so much for her to have the freedom to pursue the opportunities she wants, or when she says she’s kind of insecure to speak viet in Vietnam bc her parents taught her “children’s” vietnamese [i’ve never been to vietnam but i have many relatives who have gently teased me for my American accent which makes me v self-conscious about it].
there are generally a lot of experiences and feelings i associate with having my background that I’ve found i have in common with many of my diaspora friends. for example my best friend and i often talk a lot about having shared experiences even though she’s indian-american and i’m viet-american. Same with my cousins too, most of them are vietnamese-french so we have a lot differences in our experiences but a lot of similarities too. i think there’s just something about growing up with a significant divide in the culture you grow up with at home and the culture you grow up with in school/outside the home, along with being physically separated from a culture that was very important to your own parents’ upbringing, along with being visibly from a family that isn’t “from here” in a predominantly white society that has a pretty significant effect on your life and experiences. So whenever i find a character who has similar experiences i do tend to find myself relating to them a lot! And honestly Kieu My is one of the very few viet characters i’ve encountered who i’ve been able to relate to on that front [i really liked the writing of Diane Nguyen’s character in that respect as well although huge caveat once again that character is played by a white woman], so i’m quite grateful for the care that’s been put into creating her character. I can tell they put a lot of effort into writing her and Fatou as a Gambian-German girl and that feels really special to me because it’s so rare to see characters like these depicted in mainstream media let alone written with any attempt at nuance and rising above usual stereotypes.
hm... that was a very long and rambling answer and tbh i’m not sure if it actually answered you properly skjnfskjsf but tl;dr personally yes i do tend to relate to viet characters in western media even if they’re not viet-american, like Kieu My! I hope i explained why in a way that made at least a little bit of sense =]
#the other thing about kieu my is she's bi played by a bi person which makes a huge difference#maybe the one thing i don't relate to her on is that she's super femme skjfnskdjnfsd#but gnc characters are also stupidly rare in mainstream media so you know#can't be too picky on that front lol#Anonymous#answers#druck meta#story meta

Ghost in the Shell (2017) review
I came into this movie with an open mind. Despite every fibre of my fanboy teenage ghost rejecting this alien reincarnation. I even set aside the whitewashing criticisms to just see if the movie can achieve something significant in spite of it.
Within roughly 5 minutes, this movie assured me I was going to be treated like a lobotomised baby. I shit you not, within seconds of a beautifully rendered manufacture sequence we watch two introduced characters in a room blatantly tell us what "ghost in the shell" means in the most uninspired way imaginable.
I wish I could tell you that this was just me getting off on the wrong foot but throughout, the movie is so uncertain in how to portray the themes, symbolisms and spiritual/ religious references that make up the brain in GitS' cyberpunk action body. The script just glitches between lame exposition by talking heads and still reflection in its precise composition but the two hardly work together.
It's like the film can't find its centre and as a result is neither a compelling action sci-fi or a meditative exploration of its philosophies. If this were Aaronofsky/ Gilliam or Bay/ Snyder perhaps (for better or worse) at least this movie would have a distinct direction to go in but instead it sits in the middle and suffers at both.
Hell, I'm sure many fans would be happy if this just took the Dredd approach. If they just accepted that the fans know the backstory and the non fans don't need it and made this simply about the Section 9 anti cyber crimes team doing their job, kicking ass n taking names, it would at least have a better chance of success amongst its primary demographic.
Instead Hollywood thinks big and wants to initiate a new franchise, origin story and all, n crams so much bullshit to try and get new audiences into it that Section 9 itself gets pushed way back in the corner. Audiences spend more time getting to know the Majors mum/s than they do with any her team.
They ditch the cerebral plot of the '95 anime whereby Major Motoko Kusanagi working within Section 9 are tracking a hacker who turns out not only to be an AI secretly created by the government to assassinate political targets but has become sentient, claims asylum and ends up merging consciousness with Major Kusanagi by the end.
Here we get Major Motoko Kusanagi of Section 9, pissed that many innocent people were murdered in experiments to create her and super shitty that her entire identity was a lie and she's actually a bratty anti establishment punk.
After all is said and done, what we get is Robocop-Lite (and thats the reboot mind you). All the nuance, intrigue and head scratching ideology that we got in the shorter length '95 anime is reduced here to identity theft and yet another unremarkable corporate business villain to cover it up. We've seen this shit SO often. I'm beginning to think Hollywood just doesn't know how to do it any other way. They weren't all bad mind you, Robocop, Total Recall, The Matrix, these are all great films but GitS in its initial reception really broke the mould and here to see it put back in the cage of "been here, done that" is so incredibly disappointing.
As far as anime/manga Hollywood adaptations are concerned, the bar is INCREDIBLY low. I'd argue the only good one amongst them is Edge of Tomorrow/ Live Die Repeat. Aside from that, every otaku since the 90's is used to being made fun of in the result of America trying to morph them into something that works amongst their style of cinema. Japan has made some great adaptations partly because they don't feel the need to repackage the story.
This GitS remake tries desperately to be on the fans side by copying much of the '95 movies look (with varying degrees of success, some scenes are very accurate in their reproduction but the hair in this film is more reminiscent of X-men (2000) and seems cosplay-ish at times).
There are few scenes lifted from the original but most get twisted to accommodate the new storyline, at which point I ask why bother? Half measures don't tend to turn many heads and whilst paying homage by really making the effort to be exact duplications in some ways is applaudable, you're giving yourself less room to do your version of it. At least then, whether the film turns out to be shit or not, I'll respect that you tried to do your own thing.
ok, casting. this argument has already been done to death and I've just about run outta energy already on the whole Scarlett Johanson thing but a few things that never seem to come up: first of all, acting wise, I gotta say it's all much of a fucking muchness isn't it? Kusanagi does not outwardly express much so its mostly a headgame for an actress with the chance to throw in some subtleties in the voice acting.
I don't really like Scarlet Johansson's performances but that its preposterous for anyone to come to the conclusion that her resume would land her this gig is a bit of a stretch. Do people realise how rare it is to find an A-list celebrity that has an extensive list of both highly demanding physical action blockbusters and subtle minimalist detail performances? Of course they are going to cast her. Before anyone throws ME personally into somehow being against ethnic minorities in blockbuster films (which would be absurd for anyone who knows me) '95 GitS director Mamoru Oshii also gave his stamp of approval.
They really tried with the marketing to dodge the bullet by just not bringing it up but it's really not dealt with well in the film and leads to some pretty fucking awkward moments for a racial debate charged audience to watch.
I would have preferred the role to go to a Japanese actress but remember, this is Hollywood and if a studio is gonna push bringing THIS film out, you bet your bottom dollar that they're going with someone that is a household name in America.
The only internationally known Japanese name out there right now is Rinko Kikuchi (who to date has 2 American films out there, both not big successes). I love most of her films and there ARE a few other Japanese actresses I would love to see in the role but Hollywood studios are not gonna bank on the success of Japanese films. Hell, the fact that they put Takeshi Kitano in bit part in this movie is as far as they are willing go to get in on that market. Few seem to point at his casting as some kind of justification and I laugh quite hard. Seriously, you're gonna give this guy (who's acted AND directed in over 20 brilliant films) a few minutes of screen time and applaud that as some kind of cultural milestone?
Which brings me to the big casting shame that NO ONE is fucking talking about because they're so caught up with the Johansson shit. Aside from Kusanagi, there are 6 Japanese members of the Section 9 taskforce. How many are Japanese? Kitano, yes. Who else? Saito. Did you remember him? He's the guy that snipes the helicopter at the very end of the film. You see his face for like 10 seconds. Pretty big step in casting mulitculturally, right? Don't get me wrong, the cast IS incredibly multicultural. We got actors from all over the world pretending to be Japanese:
A Danish guy as Batou A Chinese guy as Togusa An Australian as Ishikawa A Zimbabwean as Borma
Why keep the names?! Just call them whatever, it doesn't matter. You don't give them anything important to do anyway. Have a mulit-ethnic team but when they're all speaking clearly in their national accents and supposed to be portraying Japanese characters, THAT'S what should really piss people off because THESE roles could have gone out to Japanese people and it would not have even been a risk for the studio.
Ultimately, the one real positive thing I have to say is a great job for the WETA production team on some fantastic animatronics and moulds...that's pretty much it. Shame it couldn't be in a better film.

What I Spend in a Week as a Stay at Home Mom in the Midwest | SAHM Weekly Expenses
New video: what I spent in a week as a "stay at home (part time work from home) mom in the Midwest." It'll be fun to compare this to the video of what I spend in a week in Nicaragua...coming soon! . Nuevo video: que gasta en una semana como una "mamá de la casa (trabajando desde la casa parte tiempo) en el Midwest." Sera divertido comparar esto al video sobre que gasto en una semana en Nicaragua...ya pronto! .
