Fantasy/Young Adult/Action Book

I am an author soon coming out with a new book! 

My series (working title) The Agonian Series 

This novel is written for fantasy nerds and ages 13-18 but anyone can read it.

What its about-

The invisible wall between the world and the containment of evil energy has somehow melted. Causing creatures to have started appearing. The inhumans began attacking towns and villages taking all of the females they can get their claws on. Because one of them may be the Empress of Agona-the one who can save the humans or help bring about their ruin.

The situation gets worse for three teenagers by the names of Everly, Aleena, and Dean when one of the use a Seta (magic). The problem is they are ignorant to who the user was. The three of them now, are forced by law to leave their homes and families to head to Callama, the city best known for the greatest Seta school in the country.

Characters-

Everly- With her flowing red hair always twisted into a braid, you can count on her to always beat you in an argument. Dean knows this more than anyone, for he is normally on the end of her anger. She may have a temper worse than a bull and she's irrational but loves to read; especially fiction.

Aleena- She’s by far the most rational character in the book. Though that isn’t much help since her best friend, Everly, never listens to her. Aleena’s caring and open-minded demeaner contrasts heavily with the redhead. 

Dean- The boy you would always find in trees. His joking and nonchalant ways can get on many nerves. His love for pranks and his dislike for book led to a rivalry with Everly. Which makes it difficult to travel a quarter of a country together.

About the Author-

I have not published any works as of yet, and the first book of this series is going to be my first. Thats why I am trying on every social media I can think of to promote my book. It would mean alot to me if you liked this post. Its fine if you don’t.You probably don’t care but I am going to need beta readers soon. If anyone's interested, I would need your email to contact you.

I am 15, that may seem young but I am fully aware of how difficult this business will be. Have been writing the Agonian series for two years and have been wanting to write since I was five. I first got my love for fantasy from tv shows but didn’t realize I wanted to write a fantasy series until I was 12. My first fantasy book I read was Harry Potter. You might have heard of it. 

I love reading, art, acting, and other stuff but writing is my passion like many of you out there. My favorite tv shows are Avatar last airbender, watched it on Netflix last summer. Miraculous, Star vs the Forces of Evil, Gravity Falls, Troll Hunters (netflix) and as soon as the Wheel of Time show comes out I will probably love it.

I adore Marvel. I would die for the Avengers, Spiderman, exd. Haven’t seen the tv shows or deadpool, venom, that kind of stuff. Basically everyone in endgame I love- except Thanos, I hate his guts.

One of my favorite book series is The Wheel of Time. I read the 14 book long fantasy series when I was 13 and loved it! Any of you Wheel of Time fans out there, raise your hand if you love Mat Cauthon!

Are Nords racist more often than not or is that just a Wimperial lie? Also notice how they won't call out Redguard/Breton disdain for Orcs. Or that the Empire allowed the enslavement of the Agonians.

It’s hard to tell really. Honestly it seems like people in Tamriel are racist in general in some degree. I mean, it’s a far different setting from our own. There’s actual different races of people all smushed together on a small continent forced to live in a place called “The Arena”. It’s to be expected.

And yet Skyrim feels rather tame for what you’d come to expect compared to Morrowind and certain parts of Cyrodiil. Especially with the Nords giving back Solstheim to the Dunmer. Never would have guessed that.

It feels to me like most are more concerned with living in the harsh environment that is Skyrim than about what the other poor sod that calls them neighbor is or looks like.

The closer to the border of neighboring states you are though, the more xenophobic the population seems to be. The two extremes being Markarth, bordered to High Rock, then Windhelm, bordered to Morrowind. Riften is too though but Riften is a special case, since it was burned down and rebuilt. So their population shared a tragedy together and likely rebuilt the place together, which is my theory for why Riften doesn’t have as much xenophobia aside from to argonians from a few npcs.

Falkreath borders Cyrodiil and the pale pass, they’re likely used to immigrants coming and going a lot more than Markarth. Windhelm probably only deals with outsiders for trade via ships usually. Sailors have far more experience with outsiders obviously. 

But that just goes to show the rule only applies half of the time, so it’s not much of a rule. The Nords just aren’t as xenophobic as people think they are. 

In Falkreath, as an example again, there’s two brothers, one of which we know was a Stormcloak. The xenophobic one, wasn’t, or isn’t said to be anyway. The one who was claims he traveled much in his time as a Stormcloak, and that outsiders are welcome in his shop.

People tend to exaggerate traits of a population. Skyrim’s no different. It has it’s xenophobia, and yes there’s superstition and anti magic sentiments, but that was as we saw, a big over exaggeration too.

Skyrim’s not much different from other holds. I think Morrowind has them beat on xenophobia by far. Hell they had actual slaves as you pointed out.
