thoughts on Ginny and Harry as a couple?
There are a lot of people who find their romance in HBP forced. I don't think it's forced so much as underwritten, and the books don't get the chemistry quite right (though the movies certainly don't, either). There's potential, but they just don't get enough actual scenes of substance (besides Harry thinking she's pretty or feeling jealous of Dean) for a lot of readers to buy that they're not only in love, but deeply enough in love to break up, get back together, and wind up married.
That's not to say I don't see the appeal. There's a very cool scene in Book 5 where Harry's doing a woe-is-me-Chosen-One act, and Ginny effortlessly puts him in his place about it by reminding him that she was possessed by Voldemort at eleven, which is a rare glimpse into her character and also a great synecdoche for their relationship — Ginny is a grounding presence who, like Ron and Hermione, isn't going to be awed by his past adventures because she knew him before they happened. In that respect, Ginny's probably one of the few women Harry could feasibly wind up with, because he only ever seems comfortable around people (let alone girls) who can see past the Chosen-One schtick and treat him like a normo (see: Ron, Hermione, the Weasleys, Luna, Hagrid). True to type, he doesn't get interested in Ginny at all until she's ditched her celebrity crush and ceased to view him as an idol, because in his heart of hearts, Harry wants to be a normal boy, and it's stressed over and over that part of what he likes about his relationship with Ginny is how normal it feels. He kind of has a horribly supercharged version the celebrity dating problem: after the Battle of Hogwarts, anyone he meets is going to know him first as Harry Potter, Chosen One, Boy Who Lived, and Actually Fucking Resurrected Messiah of the Wizarding World, which is... I mean, it's possible that there are witches out there who could get over that, but Harry's not an extroverted guy, and I'm not sure how he'd go about finding them. Ginny's the one who's been there since the beginning, doesn't need anything about him or his past explained to her, and actually likes him for who he is.
When you look at it that way, it's not surprising he married his high school girlfriend. She's one of the few people still alive who doesn't see him as a demigod.
#in general I was never one to ship harry with anybody#what I wanted for him was a long quiet life and plenty of therapy#maybe some dogs. i think harry needs dogs and deserves them#The other obvious solution ftr — though not one I think Harry would take — is for him to marry a muggle#though again. you'd run into the problem of how you explain All That#which harry doesn't like to talk about and probably would want to talk about even less as an adult#plus also: harry loves magic. like he loves it loves it#the muggle world for harry is permanently connected with the dursleys and it would take years to break that association#which I just don't think he's going to invest#Harry post-BOH is moving to Hogsmeade or wizarding London or some other magical neighborhood and staying there forever#by the way this post is not anti Harry and Ginny! no hate on the ship I've seen versions of it that are very cute#but I just think their love story needed Sauce#there are also some really interesting posts I've found in Deep Fandom crackship blogs about h/g as Harry's sublimated desire for Ron#now I don't necessarily buy that reading. I don't think Harry is in love with Ron in the original text#I do think he LOVES ron and projects that love onto the Weasleys very quickly ginny included#and I think Ron is his soulmate platonic or otherwise in every universe#so marrying Ginny has like. Implications. vis-a-vis Harry's status as a Weasley and adoptive brother[in law] of Ron#like it's a full-circle moment where he becomes officially legally a member of Ron's family#which I do believe JKR had in mind. even though that basically means ginny's wedding becomes kinda... actually... about her brother...#it's weird basically. my final verdict is I wish H/G had been written by an author who was more interested in Ginny for Ginny's sake.#greenteacup asks

like I said. shipping my self-insert OC with Walburga Black.
for some context, Regulus is alive in @heir-of-sapphirius, and he and his wife Mable (OC) become Lord and Lady of the House post-Orion's death in 1979. also Mable and the mentioned Beryl Allison belong to @berserkerrose
also also can we make double-muggle a thing in the fandom, I even have a slur version of it already lmfaoooo
also #3, why does artblock have to hit during the art challenge month. like this is literally the only thing I've been able to draw for days.

Warnings: Use of alcohol, swearing, but eventual smut, angst, stress etc.

Chapter 3: Delphine’s POV
I really disliked taking the tube after 8 pm, especially on a warm Friday night, and particularly on the Central line. It always reeked of alcohol or sweat, or both, since this line barely had air conditioning and it was still 23 degrees outside.
I put on my headphones and immersed myself in my favourite album, "If I Can’t Have Love I Want Power" by Halsey, as I embarked on my 15-stop journey from acting class to home.
My phone buzzed, and I saw a message from Russel: "Five Guys tonight?? x" Russel is my boyfriend, although it's complicated. The last thing I wanted was to entertain him tonight. Fridays were always the worst in the office, with endless weekly updates and making sure everything was sorted for the weekend, so I didn’t have to work over the weekend.
"I'm too tired tonight! x," I replied. Instantly, he sent me a sad face emoji. I should be used to this by now, the way he makes me feel bad because I won’t put out for him. He can be a dick, but I always end up going back to him because it's easier than trying again with someone new.
"Next Stop: Bethnal Green Station," I barely heard the announcement over my headphones, but then I realised I was one stop away. I grabbed my bag and made my way to the exit - not before accidentally hitting someone with my bag.
"Shoot, I’m so so-," I looked up and realized I had hit Fred Weasley, the tall and lanky redhead from Wednesday’s acting class.
"Delphine! Delphi!" He quickly corrected himself, knowing I’d prefer to be called Delphi. "Hey! How are you?" he asked.
"I’m good! I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to hit you. Are you OK?" My cheeks were going red; I could feel it. I was embarrassed!
“It’s all good, hah!” He reassured me with a little smile. "Are you heading home?" I realized then that I was pulling into my stop and panicked - I didn’t want this chat to end, and I didn’t know why.
"Yes! Oh god, this is my stop! It was lovely to see you." I offered him an apologetic smile before saying a quick goodbye and hopping on the train. I quickly turned around, and we waved at each other.
“I’ll text you!” He shouted out before the doors closed between us. Something about that comment made me excited.
-
Why was my heart racing? It’s just this tall guy from my acting class, this tall, ginger guy, this tall, handsome, cute- I stopped myself from thinking like that. He’s my student, I’m his teacher and that’s that.
As I came round the corner to my flat, I saw Russel standing outside and instantly dreaded coming home. Russel was around 5’8, with shoulder length brown hair. He wasn’t unattractive, far from it. He reminded me a little of Jake Gyllenhaal.
I let out a deep sigh as he came over to hug me, “Did you not see my text? I’m tired. Go home please.” He went in to kiss me and I instantly moved my face away.
“Oh come on, Delphine. I brought dinner.” He grinned and held up a Five Guys takeaway bag, “Your favourite!”
I shook my head, “It’s /your/ favourite.” I headed up the two flights of stairs that lead to my flat with Russel following suit. “I’m really not in the mood tonight. Let's just plan something Sunday, please?” I pleaded but he was in the door the second after I unlocked it.
“I’m here now, gorgeous. Come on, don’t be rude to your guest!” He shouted out, he was already heading to the kitchen to find drinks, probably something alcoholic.
I let out an internal scream before kicking my Converse off at the door and locking it. I wish I was still on the tube with Fred.
Chapter 4: Fred’s POV
As the train pulled away, I just couldn’t stop thinking about her. Was it wrong that I was thinking about her like this?
“Fuck it.” I muttered to myself before pulling my phone out and the business card she gave me. I saved her number and sent her a quick text, ‘It’s Fred, from acting class. Hope you got home safe.’
The train finally reached my stop, and I stepped out into the busy station. I was heading to a party that George invited me to, he practically forced me to come. When I arrived, it was already packed, with music blaring from speakers, and people dancing, laughing and chatting in every corner.
“There you are, Freddie!” George was already ushering me over to a group of friends before I had a chance to breathe, “Come and meet my friends.”
I constantly checked my phone and I could see George giving me weird looks, no way was I going to tell him why, but I must have been three drinks down when Delphi texted me back;
‘Hey Fred, thanks! I got home safe :)’ I was grinning ear to ear, but instantly stopped myself when George came over.
“Who you texting?” He asked, one eye raised. He was onto me.
“Huh? Nothing.” I was bright red, George wasn’t going to let this go, so I popped my phone into my back pocket and went back to the party.
-
By the time I decided to call it a night, it was well past 2 am and I had quite a bit to drink. I called George and me an Uber since neither of us was in a position to get any form of public transport.
When we finally reached my flat, it was already 3 am. I fumbled with my keys, eventually managing to unlock the door and stumble inside. I collapsed onto my bed, my head spinning and my thoughts instantly on Delphi.
Without even thinking, I grabbed my phone and texted her back, ‘Hey Delphi. Just got back from a party. Hope you had a good night. See you in class. :)’.
“Shit!” I shouted, almost throwing my phone across the room. “Why did I do that?!” I took a deep sigh before popping my phone down. There was nothing I could do about it now.
Chapter 5: Delphine’s POV
Russel was already rummaging through my kitchen cabinets. "Where do you keep the wine glasses?" he called out.
"Top shelf, left side," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady. I followed him into the kitchen, feeling the weight of the evening pressing down on me.
He found the glasses and poured two generous servings of white wine. "Here you go," he said, handing me one.
I took the glass but didn't drink. "Russel, I really am tired. I just want to relax tonight."
He took a sip of his wine and leaned against the counter, looking at me with a mix of frustration and something else I couldn't quite place. "You always say that, Delphine. When are we going to spend some real time together?"
I sighed, setting the glass down. "It's been a long week. Can we just plan something for Sunday? I promise I'll make it up to you."
Russel's eyes narrowed. "You always say that too. I'm starting to think you don't want to spend time with me at all." …I wonder why.
“I don’t want an argument tonight, Russel.” I said sternly, “Please, go home.”
“God, Delphine. Fine!” He practically threw his glass into the sink, “I’ll just get it somewhere else…” I wasn’t surprised to hear him mutter that under his breath - this is what he did.
“Yeah, you do that.” I said as I was practically shoving him out the door and slamming the door in his face. I know what you’re thinking, why is she even with this dude? I ask myself this daily, weekly, hourly. It’s like a form of self-punishment, I just keep crawling back.
“Now that he was gone, I can get on with my evening,” I said to myself as I unpacked my work bag and plugged my laptop in to charge. I rummaged around the bag for my phone and saw I had a text message from Fred.
When he said he’d text, he meant it - a man that actually delivered.  -
I very rarely check my phone when I wake up, I’m usually rushing to the bathroom or prioritising a coffee first thing. I also don’t set alarms most of the time, I always wake up around 6.30 am, and this morning wasn’t any different.
I was mid coffee-making when I heard my phone ringing. I didn’t make it back in time to get the call but it was from Russel, no surprise there. He probably hadn’t even gone home yet. I also saw a text message from Fred and chuckled to myself - a drunk text!
‘Hey Fred, hope the hangover isn’t too bad, see you Wednesday!’ I was debating inviting him to Monday’s class, it was a smaller class, with more experienced actors which wouldn’t be a bad thing, but he’d probably be even more out of his comfort zone.
I put my phone back and got on with my morning - there was no way he’d text back until this afternoon.

TW: Drug withdrawal and violence
Another lil snippet from my Muggle AU thing I have going on in my head, feels nice to have these little bits and bobs written down. Really enjoying playing with characterisation and trying out new things.
“Where is she?” Sirius demanded pacing up and down the small waiting room outside the solicitor’s office, he ran his hands through his hair and stopped in front of Regulus sitting in an armchair, flicking through a book.
Regulus looked up to meet the desperate gaze of his brother and he shrugged. “Just sit down Sirius, you are being dramatic.” He replied lazily, and looked back down at his page.
Sirius threw his hands upwards, “Dramatic? She’s over an hour late Reg, and she hasn’t replied to a single text message I’ve sent her.”
Regulus rolled his eyes, “Fine, I’ll ring her.” He sighed, putting his phone to his ear. “anything to stop this” he muttered looking Sirius up and down.
“If she didn’t answer for me why would she for yo…” He was cut off as Regulus spoke into the phone, shooting Sirius a cocky look.
“Morning Ce..oh Percy” Regulus replied with surprise.
Sirius quickly squeezed next to his brother in the armchair putting his ear next to the phone while avoiding Regulus’ flaying arms trying to get him away.
“She ran?…shit” Regulus pinched the top of his nose and sighed deeply.
Sirius still unable to hear the call almost climbed on Regulus’ lap mouthing to him to put the speaker on.
Regulus tried to ignore the commotion nodding along to what Percy was saying while continuing to bat at Sirius, “Just go away” he finally snapped unable to concentrate on the phone call. Sirius got up, pulled a face at Regulus and started to pace again.
“No not you Percy, yes I heard what you said, no I’m sure you did everything you could, I have a few ideas where she could be, yes I’ll keep you in the loop, right okay, bye.” Regulus hung up the phone and looked towards his brother and grimaced.
“She ran out of the car while it was at traffic lights,” Regulus informed Sirius who had now stopped pacing. “She left her phone behind, Percy said he’s been walking the streets but has no clue where she was running to.”
“Why was the door even unlocked?” Sirius demanded a sudden wave of anger replacing his worry.
“She’s not a prisoner Sirius” Regulus replied.
“Fuck” Sirius rubbed at his knuckles, he looked down deep in thought. “Okay I’ll file the missing person’s case, you start to see if you can…”
Regulus snorted and Sirius shot him a frustrated look, “Are you hearing yourself right now? Look I know this is new to you, but it isn’t for me, she needs time, she’ll turn up when she wants to be found, we can’t file a report what if the press gets ahold of it? It’ll be mayhem.” He picked his book back up.
Sirius smacked the book out of Regulus’s hands. “Our sister is missing, and you just want to wait? After all we have been through? Anything could have happened.” Sirius shouted.
“She ran out of the car 30 minutes ago, she’s hardly missing,” Regulus replied dryly but then sighed in defeat as he looked into Sirius’ desperate eyes. “Fine, okay” He stood up. “We will go and look, I’ll call a driver, suppose we better start with Barty.”
Sirius’s eyes narrowed at the mention of the name. Regulus just rolled his in response.
Regulus picked up his phone to dial when the doors of the waiting room opened and both brothers turned towards them. In came a concerned-looking Barty Crouch holding up a shaking Celeste Black, he didn’t acknowledge the two brothers instead putting Celeste in a chair close by the door, he knelt in front of her and used his sleeve to wipe the sweat droplets from her brow.
“Well, speak of the fucking devil and he shall appear” Sirius cried as he stormed over to Barty pulled him up by the back of his hoodie and punched him straight in the face.

After Nagini's bite, Lucius found Severus instead of Harry.
(TW: Major character death, past mpreg)
***
"No!" he cried, kneeling in front of the man he loves so dearly. "No, no, no!" he repeated deliriously. He put his hands on his younger lover's neck, where he was bleeding to death, and applied pressure to stop the bleeding, but it was in vain.
"Lucius," a weak voice said. With his last ounce of strength, he grabbed the blond man's collar.
"Sev, you must have something on you, a-an antivenom or something... a-anything to save you" he was clearly crying. Anyone would do in his position. "Please" he begged. "Give me something to save you, please"
"No, love" Severus gasped. With blood filling his lungs, it was becoming more difficult to speak. "Daysha" he finally managed to say. "You must look after her"
"You're a Potions Master! How can you not have some antidote on you?!"
"Lucius focus. You should be the one to raise Daysha after I'm gone"
"No- no don't say that. You're not going a-anywhere Severus. My Sev cannot die today, you cannot die before me. I can't bear it"
"Luc... listen-" his sentence was cut short when he coughed up blood. He yanked on Malfoy's clothes once more, this time more desperately. "She's yours," he spat out at last. And then he began to cry. The thought of his daughter growing up like him burned his veins even worse than the venom.
Time stopped around Lucius as his heart started to beat faster, he didn't think it was possible a minute ago. "What?" he exhaled. "But you said-"
"I know what I said" sobbed Severus. "I didn't want your name, your marriage, to be tainted" he released Lucius's clothes and placed his hand on his chin. "But she's yours, I swear. She even has-" his sentence cut abruptly as a searing pain went through his whole body. "She even has your hair" he managed to gasp out before his body arched with another wave of pain. "Her hair was black when you saw her but it was a glamour, she's yours. I've never been with anyone but you in my whole life"
Lucius slowly caressed his temple with feather-like kisses "We could've raise her together" he whined, shaking his head as if he wants to wake up from a horrible nightmare. "Please don't leave me alone"
"It's okay" Severus whispered, that was all he could do.
"It's all my fault" Lucius admitted.
"Stop"
"I introduced you to Dark, it's because of me, you took the Mark because of me" he muttered against his darling's ear. "I should be the one who's dying"
"Look into my eyes" Severus said with a stern voice. When Lucius faced him, he said again "It's okay"
"What am I going to say to her when she asks about you? Salazar, she's only two"
"Just say her mama loves her" He had to put his hand over his mouth to keep his sobs from becoming too loud. "I need you to stay strong and be a good father to our daughter, okay? She's in Spinner's End with my mother. Promise me you won't leave Daysha with her." Severus was barely audible anymore; he didn't know how much time he had left, but it wasn't difficult to guess that it wasn't much.
"I won't" Lucius said. He'd never leave his own blood with a woman who had scarred Severus. But he didn't know how to be strong, he was weak; the love of his life was dying in his arms, and all he could do was nothing; he was weak.
"Promise me!"
The begging tone in Severus' voice woke him up from his train of thoughts. He nodded quickly. "Of course I won't leave her, dearest. She is my own flesh and blood, a part of us. I promise"
Severus' breathing began to slow as he reached for Lucius one last time. Malfoy intertwined their fingers and pressed his forehead against his dearest's. "I love you" he said as he breath out. He waited for a response but when none came he closed his eyes tightly as tears streamed down his cheeks. He couldn't tear his face away from Severus' for a while. He was too afraid to look at his lover's lifeless figure.
"I know you love me too"
He eventually drew back a little, pressed his lips against his beloved's forehead, and said "It's okay"

ch. 51: Evenfall (concert 3)
• for @drarrymicrofic prompt: Evenfall (dec 22) | words: 371 | all chapters / prev / next
If there was a doubt, it vanished quickly. Malfoy sang the songs, whistled in between, wooed and jumped and even teased Harry with sideways glances and "Do you need to be carried, Potter?" And "It's a great show, shame you can't see it from the floor." Unsufferable git, looking unbelievably gorgeous with those rosy cheeks and his hair curling at the nape with sweat. Harry was there to watch the band play, not Malfoy's arms- damn Auror training. Those arms. No, stop. That neck. No! Stop! Bad Harry! He channels Hermione's voice in his head.
Malfoy says something. "Sorry?"
"I asked if you are feeling unwell," Malfoy yells over the music, getting closer, his breath caressing Harry's ear. Shite.
"Fine," he gulps. And there was sound all around them, he knew, yet he couldn't hear a thing besides his own breathing and blood gushing to his ears.
"C'mon," Malfoy says grabbing him by the arm. "Let's get some air."
"I'm fine," Harry repeats tightly.
"It's my duty as an Auror to protect our mighty Saviour," he says into his ear. Harry was going to kill Malfoy, Ron would understand.
They walk outside, nodding at the punter, it was quite stuffy inside. Malfoy rests his long body against the wall. Bloody hell.
"Feeling better? Potter? Where are you going?"
Harry needs to walk away because his head is a mess and it's not normal, under any circumstance, to find Malfoy fit. Or bloody gorgeous. It's Malfoy! He's all pointed and washed out! And… MALFOY-ISH!
Malfoy presses a hand on his shoulder to stop him, a warm weight. Harry's gone crazy! He needs to date. He's still afraid of gay muggle bars from when he was photographed kissing a muggle.
"Potter?"
"You are so bloody annoying! You are everywhere! Even my own home!"
"Excuse me for being your friend's partner! Believe it or not, I didn't choose it! Why are you so pale? Are you having a panic attack?"
"I am not!" Harry yells, but yeah, he probably is.
"Let's go. I'll apparate you home."
"NO! I'm NOT taking you home!" Harry panicked, feeling himself getting red and hot.
"I am taking you home," Draco hisses back losing his patience. "To Granger-Weasley's place."

Art for Spring 2023
(Link to mainpost)
Hello everyone, @muggle-born-princess here. ^^
Just wanted to let you all know that I’m still here if anyone is wondering. Unfortunately, my allergies came back for the spring season, so I’d been a little sick again.
Tumblr media
Thankfully, they’re not as bad as my winter ones, so I should be feeling better ASAP. ^^
Tumblr media
However, I do want to write down the ideas that I plan to do, art-wise for the Spring Season.
Tumblr media
First things first, I just started doing some Pride Month art. The reason being is because I’d been meaning to do more Pride Month art since 2021; however, due to my constant busy life and moving 3 states apart, I haven’t been able to complete all of them.
Tumblr media
Furthermore, I'd always wanted to post Pride Month art throughout the whole month of June (aka when Pride Month happens), but I never got that chance due to how busy I always was.
Therefore, my goal is to hopefully complete all, if not, most of them by May 31st and post them throughout June. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🩷
Tumblr media
Another idea is to practice some of my favorite art styles, such as Disney, as a way to help me improve on not just art itself, but to help me find my style and what I can be inspired by.
Tumblr media
In addition, I also wanna focus on more fanart; mainly for Miraculous (some mainly relating to my Miraculous blog: @pro-bee-sisters), and if possible, some crossover ideas here and there.
Tumblr media
All I'm saying is that due to my busy schedule as always, I may not do everything on time, but I also do wanna let you guys know that I AM still here and AM still working on my ideas for my other blogs. It may might not come on time, but I am making them. I promise.
Tumblr media
I hope to see you all later.
Please remember to follow my other 3 blogs:
@muggle-born-princess (Main Blog)
@pro-bee-sisters (Miraculous Side Blog)
@pens-and-gems (Writing Blog)
Bye bye everyone!

Tacenda - Chapter 14 Snippet
After getting back to Hogwarts Eleanor stays with the rest of the Hufflepuffs, she’d already left her bag in Hannah’s dorm. That was their usual drill when they had a sleepover.
Zacharias and Justin decided to walk back with them, Zacharias walking the entire way with Eleanor continuing their conversation.
He tried to convince them to stay in the common room for a while longer but Charlie declared that was against the rules and quickly ushered Eleanor and Hannah to grab their things.
They did so quickly before bidding the others goodnight and leaving the common room and heading to the room of requirement.
Over the years they’d had their sleepovers in various places, the common room, abandoned classrooms, the astronomy tower and one brave year they decided to bring a tent and camp at the edge of the forbidden forest - they only did that once.
As soon as the door appears to the room of requirement they hurry inside slamming it shut and collapse onto their beds, the room always presented in a circle with three poster beds slightly different for each of them. Hannah’s had millions of pillows, Charlie’s had thick Tudor drapes and Eleanor’s had comforting fluffy blankets.
“Ah, finally.” Charlie shouts falling backwards onto his bed with his arms spread out wide.
“I know my feet are killing.” Hannah complains chucking her shoes across the room. “I forgot how much walking we do around Hogsmeade.”
“It’s not that bad.” Eleanor states already taking her pyjamas from her bag.
“Is there a particular reason you enjoyed today?” Charlie says siting up and staring at her pointedly.
Eleanor blushes knowing exactly what he’s hinting at but she straightens her shoulders and continues to look for her bed socks.
“Not really, it was just a nice day with friends.” She states.
“Mhm.” Charlie hums in a disagreement. “Yeah I don’t believe you for one second.”
“Believe what you will.” Eleanor says, pausing as she realises that’s what Theo tells her.
“What’s going on?” Hannah asks lying on her stomach staring between the two of them.
Charlie rolls his eyes at Hannah. “You can be so blind sometimes Han. Elle and Zacharias were getting extremely close today, he couldn’t take his eyes off her. He even got her a couple of drinks.”
“Ooh.” Hannah says turning to Eleanor with huge eyes.
“Don’t make something out of nothing.” Eleanor rebukes him. “You talk to me and buy me drinks.”
“I’m different.” Charlie says pulling his own bag onto his bed. “I don’t fancy you.”
“Thanks.” Eleanor says sarcastically making Charlie chuckle. “But neither does Zac.”
“Oh Zac is it?” Hannah says dramatically biting her lip as she watches Eleanor in excitement.
“Not you too Han.” Eleanor complains.
Hannah shrugs giving her an innocent smile.
“What I can’t help it. A boy is crushing on my best friend-.”
Charlie clears his throat.
“One of my best friends.” Hannah continues. “I’m excited. Plus you need to move on from Dean.”
“I’m over Dean.” Eleanor states.
“Honey I know you think that but your first break up is hard.” Hannah says seriously. Eleanor rolls her eyes as she searches for her spot cream.
“Han, I’m fine. And you’re the only one here who’s never broke up with someone.” Eleanor points out.
Charlie nods pointing towards Eleanor. “That’s a really good point.”
Hannah lets out an annoyed sigh.
“Be that as it may, I am an empathetic person and if me and Ernie ever split up I think I’d cry myself to sleep for years. I probably wouldn’t even sleep.”
“Because you’ve been together for almost 2 years now.” Charlie states staring at her like she’s insane.
Probably because she is.
“That’s true.” Hannah agrees. “But Elle was with Dean for months. Months. That’s not a wake-up fine situation.”
“I disagree.” Eleanor says simply making Charlie snigger.
“Eleanor this isn’t something you can just get over.” Hannah declares.
“I think she knows how she feels Han.” Charlie inputs watching Hannah like she’s the most entertaining thing he’s ever seen. And to be fair she’s a force, she’s lovely but genuinely thinks she understands people’s emotions better than they do themselves.
“No she doesn’t. I’ve seen her heart pang for a love she can’t have, it hurts her and it’s something she should move on from.” Hannah whines.
Eleanor chews her bottom lip, that was a little close to the mark for comfort. Not in regard to Dean but rather Theo. Not that she loves Theo, but she does want him in her life yet it’s never going to happen. Maybe she should take Hannah’s advice and move on.
“I’m not pining over Dean, at all, but I think maybe I should try and I don’t know... move on even though I don’t need to.” Eleanor says, the picture of Theos flushed cheeks and swollen lips flashing behind her eyelids.
“Really?” Charlie says in disbelief as Hannah squeals in delight.
“You won’t regret this Elle.” Hannah says climbing to her knees and jumping on her bed.
“This is great if it’s what you want.” Charlie tells her sincerely. “But if you don’t want to date you don’t have to. You do things when you’re ready and only when you’re ready.”
Eleanor gives him a grateful look. Charlie might be blunt and joke around but he’s the one person she knows will always have her back and support her decisions.
“Thanks.” She tells him softly, she quickly stands up grabbing her pyjamas. “I’m just going to get changed.”
She waves her pyjamas in the air as she makes her way towards the bathroom. Chewing the inside of her cheek as she thinks on Hannah’s words. Does she need to get over Theo? Should she give up on him and move on?
That’s ridiculous she doesn’t even know Theo, not properly of course, she doesn’t need to get over him. Hannah just thinks she’s still stuck on Dean for some bizarre reason.
Once she finishes in the bathroom she walks back into the bedroom to Charlie and Hannah talking in hushed whispers, they instantly stop when she re-enters the room.
Not at all suspicious.
“Hey, what are you talking about?” She asks throwing her clothes into her bag.
“Nothing.” Hannah says a little too quickly. Charlie covers his face with his hands as he shakes his head.
Eleanor raises an eyebrow at them. “Nothing is such an interesting topic.” She teases.
“Yeah.” Hannah says slowly. She quickly jumps off the bed grabbing her bag and hurrying towards the bathroom startling Eleanor with how quickly she moves. “I’m just going to get ready for bed.”
“Alright see you in 5 hours.” Charlie calls to her.
Hannah sticks her tongue out before shutting the bathroom door. Eleanor giggles before sitting on her bed crossed legged and turning towards Charlie as she places a pillow on her lap.
“So what’s nothing?” She asks, she knows Charlie won’t keep things from her.
He lets out a sigh as he sinks back into the pillows, tucking his feet underneath himself.
“You and Dean and Zacharias.” He tells her straight.
“Okay.” Eleanor says contemplatively. “Was it all bad?”
Charlie shakes his head. “No. I was mostly telling Hannah to back off. You know your own mind and emotions and don’t need people to tell you what to do. I think Hannah loves the idea of romance and being in a relationship so she assumes everyone else wants that too but if you’re not ready just let her know. She can take you rejecting a teenage boy.”
Eleanor laughs at that.
“Yeah, I get where she’s coming from but I’m really not pining for Dean. I am over him.”
“I know.”
“I don’t get why she’s convinced I am.”
“Maybe because she would be if it was her. I think it’s strange how you’ve both moved on so easily, it’s nice, but usually at least one person still harbours lingering feelings for a while.” Charlie states with a slight shrug reaching for some chocolate.
Eleanor laughs as she thinks about Theo’s theory Dean isn’t over her.
“You know what that’s what Th- someone said to me. Well, they said Dean was obviously still into me.” Eleanor says cursing herself for her near slip up over Theo’s name.
“Right.” Charlie says turning to face Eleanor. “What else did Theodore Nott say?”
“That I’m the reason for Dean and Ginny’s fights because… shit.” She closes her eyes as she realises her mistake.
Charlie is giving her a smug look.
“How is dear Theodore the pureblood death eater?” He asks sternly.
Eleanor takes a deep breath.
“Fine, from what I gather.”
“Yeah. So fine he’s giving you relationship advice and telling you that your ex is still fixated on you. Elle, I’ve seen how you watch him sometimes. What are you doing?” He asks his voice full of concern.
Thankfully there’s no judgement or hostility in his words, just the tone of you’re an absolute idiot.
“Nothing, we just spent 3 nights together. They get very long and conversation was bound to happen.” Eleanor lies, she believes extremely convincingly, until she sees Charlie’s face.
“Elle, you’ve been staring at him a lot longer than that.” Charlie states.
Eleanor plays with the edge of the pillow her entire being filling with sadness.
“I don’t know.” She says honestly. “It’s complicated and I… Charlie I’m so confused, I don’t know if we’re friends or not and we can’t be for obvious reasons but he’s just so…”
“Perfect?” Charlie suggests.
Eleanor lets out a harsh laugh. “He’s far from perfect but yes, that’s sort of it. I just don’t get it… I should hate him. I do hate him.”
Charlie watches her closely. “You know what they say is the same as hate right?”
Eleanor snorts. “Yeah whatever. Even if it was it’s basically forbidden.”
Charlie gives her a dramatic look. “Our very own Romeo and Juliet.”
Eleanor rolls her eyes. “We both know how that ended.”
“True.” Charlie laughs. “What about Paris then?”
“What?” Eleanor asks in confusion.
“The other guy in Juliet’s life. Zacharias. The blonde haired, blue eyed, sports star of Hufflepuff.” Charlie continues.
Eleanor feels a blush coat her cheeks. Was it really obvious he was trying to flirt with her earlier? Was she that oblivious?
“I’m taking that as a no.” Charlie chuckles.
“No.” Eleanor mumbles from beneath the pillow her voice muffled by the slight suffocation she’s inflicting on herself. “It’s a I don’t know what’s happening, I’m in way over my head and does he even like me? Do I like him? I’ve never really spoken to him before.”
“Merlin Eleanor.” Charlie states. “Way to complicate everything.”
Eleanor pulls the pillow from her face to stare at him wide eyed.
“What would you do then?” She snaps.
“Do you think he’s hot?”
Eleanor opens and closes her mouth. Does she?
“I guess so.” She says shyly. He is handsome, his hair is perfect, his eyes are a bright blue, he’s got a sweet smile, he’s ridiculously tall and he’s a chaser so he’s got an athletic body but does that mean she’s attracted to him? Maybe just a little bit.
“Then go for it.” Charlie says casually. “Best case you click and get a hot boyfriend, worst case you don’t go on another date but get a hot snog session.”
“Charlie!” Eleanor exclaims in shock. Charlie burst into laughter almost rolling off the bed as he watches her horror.
Hannah comes in freezing as she looks at the both of them.
“What did I miss?” She asks full of confusion.
This makes Eleanor burst into laughter and Charlie actually does fall off the best this time. They spend the rest of the night comparing the different boys Eleanor could date, much to her displeasure, but it makes them all laugh and for some reason fills Hannah with utter joy

Chapter 1: Delphine’s POV
The room exuded a chilly ambience as I entered, an emotion so palpable it seemed to engulf the darkness completely. Not a word had passed between us, yet the unspoken connection between us carried more weight than any conversation ever could. Who could have predicted that I would discover someone who shared my passion for acting?
He stood tall and lanky, his dark ginger hair cascading over his eyes. His nervousness manifested in subtle fidgets - the way he absentmindedly twirled his fingers while seated. Despite his evident apprehension, I could sense his potential, even if he hadn't yet recognised it in himself.
Breaking the uneasy silence, I decided to take charge, "Who would like to take on the role of Cleopatra?" The room fell into a palpable hush as I scanned for a willing participant. To my surprise, there were no volunteers among my male students. It was a scene from Antony & Cleopatra, and none of them seemed eager to portray the Egyptian queen's part. Suppressing a chuckle, my gaze locked onto my scene partner, the anxious ginger in the corner - 'You.' I beckoned him with a nod and extended my arm, "Come here," I invited, guiding him toward the centre of the room. "You'll be reading Mark Antony's lines."
He took hesitant steps closer, his trepidation evident. It was his first time presenting to such a class. I decided to ease his nerves by giving him his cue, "I am sick and sullen." As my eyes met him, I noticed his grip on the script tighten as though it might crumble in his hands at any moment.
"I am sorry… to, sorry to give breathing to my purpose–" He stammered, his words hanging in the air, and I promptly responded, "Help me away, dear Charmian! I shall fall! It cannot be thus long; the sides of nature will not sustain it." Just as we were getting into the scene, the building manager knocked to signal that we had only five minutes left before closing, causing a flurry of activity as everyone began packing up.
"Excellent work, everyone! Don't be anxious; this is only our second session, and I look forward to witnessing your progress." I turned to my scene partner, who was already gathering his belongings. "Hi there! Do you mind if I have a moment of your time?" He greeted me with a friendly smile and a nod.
"My apologies, but I'm afraid I can't recall all the names in the class. What should I call you?" I chuckled nervously, which was echoed by a small chuckle from him. "Fred Weasley, but just Fred will do," he added, extending his hand for a handshake, which I gladly accepted.
I warmly welcomed him and praised his immense talent, then suggested, "Why don't you practice this scene for me? We can work on it together next week." He seemed taken aback but ultimately nodded in agreement. "Absolutely, I'd be delighted!" Before he could respond further, I reached into my bag and retrieved a business card.
"Here's my number. If you have any questions or if something about the scene strikes you, don't hesitate to reach out," I said as he accepted the card. He thanked me and made his way out of the room slowly, pausing once or twice to give an awkward wave before disappearing.
Chapter 2: Fred’s POV
"Wake up! I'm trying to talk to you!" George shouted before delivering a playful slap to my head. "Ouch! What's gotten into you, George?" I exclaimed, taken by surprise, as I had been lost in my thoughts.
"What's on your mind?" He probed, responding to my sigh. "Nothing," I replied, "just been a long day." I slouched onto the sofa in our London flat, a stone's throw away from Diagon Alley in the Muggle world. "Hand me those cigarettes." He tossed me the packet, and I flicked open my lighter, igniting one for myself before taking a long drag. "How was your day? I didn't see you after we handled that lunchtime rush." I handed the pack back to him, listening as he lit his own cigarette.
"Well, if you were paying attention…" He shot me an irritated look before continuing, "Two candidates showed up for the interviews, quite an interesting experience." I chuckled at his response but realized that I had drifted off while reminiscing about the evening's acting lesson.
She had mentioned preferring to go by the shortened name Delphi instead of Delphine, which was listed on her website. She claimed it made her appear more professional to potential students. Her choice of name intrigued me; it wasn't one you'd typically encounter in the Muggle world. But beyond that, I found myself captivated by her ability to capture a character's essence in just a few words - a talent that utterly fascinated me.
"Did you manage to hire anyone?" I hastily asked to prove I had been attentive, taking a long puff from my cigarette. "Heavens, no! They had no idea what they were doing - just came for the free candy." I laughed at his reply.
"How about the acting class? Will you give it another shot?" He took a drag from his cigarette and awaited my response. I shifted in my seat before answering, "The teacher thinks I have a knack for this drama stuff, so I suppose I will." George's mouth hung open in disbelief at my response. "Come on, George… I know what you're thinking." My cheeks flushed with embarrassment; George had never taken the idea of the acting class seriously.
"It's pretty clear you have a thing for the teacher, don't you? She's cast a spell on you, and now you can't get her out of your head. I know that feeling, Fred Weasley. So, spill the beans - what's she like?" George inquired, his brows arched, eager to hear more.
I couldn't deny that I had developed a soft spot for her. Her quirkiness and cleverness, coupled with a hint of sassiness, endeared her to me. Moreover, she had an irresistibly petite and cute charm. "George, I—I don't know her that well," I began, pausing as I remembered she was my teacher. "She's really great and good-looking, but I can't ask her out. She's a teacher, my teacher." With that, I stubbed out my cigarette and stood up to leave.
"All talk, no action, Freddie! You've lost your nerve," George teased, a mischievous grin on his face. I spun around to face him as he flashed an evil smile, "Since when did Fred Weasley become a coward? You used to sweep girls off their feet in school, and now you can barely hold a conversation with one. That's not like you."
The realisation that he was right made me feel queasy; somehow, I had lost confidence in myself when it came to pursuing romantic interests. Was it just this one person, or had I lost my touch entirely?
