World of Heroes R - Great Lake [insert descriptor here] (they keep changing it)

A small group of lower-tier heroes who focus on the more mundane crimes. You can't expect these guys to go up against an invading alien horde. But you can expect them to go up against all but the most zealous of criminal organizations, to bring peace to humanity on its lowest level. Or something.

Members:

Mr. Immortal - HE CAN'T DIE! That's it, that's his power set. Nobody's sure how old he is, but he could be potentially one of the most frustrating heroes to get rid of because, again, HE CAN'T DIE!

Flatman - He's a guy who's able to make himself completely flat! That's it, that's his power set. His versatility is noteworthy and he could pull one hell of a Mr. Fantastic impression, but, well, it's not as impactful as some might think. Plus, you know, his face is a little weird to look at when he's full on flat.

The Door Man - He's able to access a pocket dimension that allows him to manipulate spacial rifts, meaning nowhere is safe from his wrath! ...It's just that, well, he's not especially wrathful. And also his portals have limited range, just like the next room. He's also prone to a minor delusion where he thinks he's the angel of death or something, but it doesn't make him any more murderous.

Squirrel Girl - She's able to talk to squirrels! Granted, not an impressive powerset, but at least it's interesting. Let's see what her records say about - wait, she beat that guy? WAIT, she beat THAT guy?! What do you mean she beat HIM?! Wow. ...Why does she roll with these guys again? She could probably clean up a city by herself in a matter of weeks.

There were more, but apparently they decided that it'd probably be better if they took a sabbatical and worked on their own skills for a bit.

Saw some New Warriors pics on Pinterest & they made me think...what the heck does Marvel have against them? 🥺

That original 90s comic era really was their best & nearly every run since then has been...😅 uh, not that. Plus no show? Dang, they need love! 😭

Ntm, idk about anybody else, but it'd please me to no end, if these characters got new hero names (the only genuine issue w/ them) & we saw them placed on the Champions or something, since the editorial plans for them in New Warriors got shot down

Jen has to go do this bridesmaid thing at the most inconvenient time in the season, which is literally the point as she says at the start of the episode. But just so we're not totally devoid of legal shenanigans, we have Mallory and Nikki defending Mr. Immortal.

Of all the characters I never expected to see pop up in the MCU, Mr. Immortal is definitely one of them. Hilariously portrayed here as a man who commits suicide to avoid confrontations, he's being sued by his myriad lovers and spouses who he's ghosted in the most traumatizing way possible over the years.

Mallory and Nikki wind up taking the opposition's side to an extent, but honestly, how could you not? The settlement they negotiate is still a great deal for him given that, as Mallory points out, these women could be pressing serious criminal charges over his behavior.

It's wacky and fun, and serves as a much-needed antidote to the bullying and hostility that Jen faces at the wedding.

Thinkin about emerald duo again.

Thinking about how they aren’t quite parent/guardian and child but also aren’t quite peers. If y’all have been here long enough you know how feral I get for stories of immortal characters. And in my headcanons both Techno and Phil are immortal Phil is just an older immortal (both in total years and the age at which he stopped aging)

So it’s just interesting to imagine how it feels to hang out with this guy who is an adult just like you but you watched him grow up and also watched him age a couple more hundred years into immortality. And so by mortal standards Techno is crazy old and knowledgeable but by Phil’s “the only human person currently alive born 3 thousand years ago” standards he’s still young. Of course Phil isn’t morally flawless but I can just imagine him seeing Techno make these mistakes and think to himself “you’ll know how wrong you are right now once you get a few more cycles of history repeating itself under your belt, for now I still have to watch you make such human mistakes.” Namely among them being getting attached and personally invested in mortals choices and their consequences. To me Phil’s actions on the dsmp are far more connected to his grief than causes he’s invested in like Techno’s dedication to anarchy.

Also my annual apology to canon purists for basing basically my whole reading of these characters on shit I made up about them.

Id like to think that the gods and to some extent themselves at least partially see the gods who used to be demigods (eg. Heracles and Dionysus) as demigods still

And that's probably why Dionysus' punishment was so bad. Because that was not an Olympian sleeping with a nymph he didnt know you wanted, that is an impertinent demigod showing you disrespect

(also at least in Dionysiaca, Dio was as impertinent as Percy so it kinda factors in)

Oh yeah story idea: percy Jackson reaches his emotional/mental limits) (annabeth gets knocked down during a huge fight and nearly gets killed) and goes absolutely ape. We're talking hurricanes, earthquakes, a zillion exploding water sources, blood bending, poison bending, pounding rain, the works.

And it starts to kill him. Like eating too much ambrosia, his mortal body is burning up, too much power too quickly.

But through sheer force of will and the amount of divine energy he's putting out, he keeps clinging on as his body crumbles to ash, divine power building stronger and stronger and higher and higher.

And he accidentally brute forces his way into godhood.

And what would have been a true power reveal and two deaths, Percy being punished for his strength ala Frank, abruptly becomes a pseudo divine political drama, with percy at risk of any dozen horrific fates the frenzied council are slinging around (minus poseidon, who is also frenzied but unwilling to let his newly immortal son die) whilst dealing with all the ramifications of divinity and the new social strata of the immortal pantheon (and EVERYONE having opinions), all while trying to get back home.

But Annabeth survives because of it, so he can't really complain.
