WORLD OF HEROES R - The Bat Pack

A small collective of vigilantes who patrol the streets of Gotham and minimize the impact of criminal empires and metahuman happenstances. Originally just a single individual, they've since expanded into a small-scale league of crazies that, despite everything, might be what the city needs.

FEATURED MEMBERS

Batman - the original knight of Gotham and still the most well-known. His expertise and cunning has made him the most feared individual in Gotham, though only by the cruel and distasteful.

Robin - A long-time associate of the Batman, known for being flashy and witty but still not to be underestimated.

Batgirl - Nobody's quite sure if the Batgirl has merely changed costumes and strategies or has been taken up by new individuals in the time since she first appeared, but most people still know when you cross the Batgirl's path, you'd better make sure you're not up to anything.

Signal - The only known Metahuman in the Bat Pack, gifted with heightened supersenses, and usually acts as the group's sole day-walking member. Some could argue that he's just another one of Batman's sidekicks, but it seems the other members of the Bat Pack are accepting of him.

Red Hood - Who the Red Hood was before he showed up in Gotham is... honestly still a mystery. Of the Bat Pack, he's certainly the most brutal force to go up against, though it seems that he's been toning it down a bit since the early days.

UNFEATURED MEMBERS

Oracle - A mysterious individual who oversees the entire city, watching for any sign of trouble and alerting the Bat Pack to its troubles. If some rumors are to be believed, this Oracle has ties to the Batgirl identity.

NOT MEMBERS

Catwoman - a cat burglar who, due to a variety of circumstances, happens to be the closest thing in Gotham that Batman has to a true rival.

the gojo twins are hilarious because your baby boy looks exactly like satoru, but has very little of his personality—it seems like the only things he inherited was satoru’s love for sweets and love for you. still, even though he’s a strong swimmer, he much prefers to relax in his floaties alongside you if you’re also in the pool, or chill by your side on a lounge chair, glasses too big for his face keeping the sun out of his eyes as he shares his smoothie with you, and asks to borrow your phone to take pictures of his sister and daddy in the pool. 

your baby girl on the other hand… she might have your face but she’s got satoru’s everything else—his competitive streak, his confidence, and definitely his mischievous nature. she’s the one who tiptoes into your bedroom at five in the morning, tapping at her daddy’s shoulders, and putting her little finger over his lip to shush him before he can wake you up; she’s always the one to convince satoru to take her swimming the backyard at the crack of dawn, and why by the time you and your baby boy wake up, she and satoru are already past warm up laps and swimming lessons and onto who can make the splashiest canonball competitions (she always wins because while her tiny body can endure a belly flop, satoru’s years of training physically doesn’t allow him to do it… and maybe because he’s not so competitive when it comes to his baby girl, he’ll always let her win). 

kento’s professional judo career honestly doesn’t last very long. after his first olympic games, you two start dating and he proposes just after he wins gold the second time he’s in the olympics; he does maybe two more years of national competitions while you’re pregnant, and decides that the intense training for the next two years in preparation of a third olympic competition isn’t worth missing time he could spend with you or your baby girl—plus, with all the money he’s made from competitions, winning gold medals, brand ambassadorships, commercials, and collaborations, he had enough money to provide for all of your for the rest of your lives. so, that’s what he does (his dream has always been to be a househusband, anyway...) his previous salaryman career comes in handy when deciding how to invest his money, how to buy a house, how to take care of his friends, how to set up a fund for your daughter, and an extra account or two… just incase more babies come along… 

by the time your baby girl is four, she’s already kento’s biggest fan. she loudly and proudly proclaims to everybody that her daddy was basically superman and won all the shiny trophies and medals in the house from when he was being a superhero. if anyone recognizes kento when they’re out together, she always confirms their suspicions, proudly boasting, “yeah kento is my daddy! he’s a winner!” it always makes kento’s heart swell to hear her praise. he doesn’t compete professionally anymore, but he does train from time to time, and has taken on a few mentees, and your daughter LOVES to watch him coach/train. she’s got her own uniform that she always puts on whenever they go to the gym together, and gets so excited when kento or ino or yuuji pretend to spar with her. 

she’s honestly kento’s mini figure. she’s respectful and reserved, but strong and knows when to fight and how to use her voice. there’s a time when he gets a call from her school saying that she got in a fight, the principal frames it as your daughter needlessly pushing around an older kid, but your daughter is certain in her words when she tells her dad that it was because the kid was being mean to the younger kids, and to her. kento doesn’t say a word to the teachers—doesn’t even fight them sending her home early for the day, because he’s happy to scoop her up and take her out for ice cream and tell her that he’s proud of her.

hi so i watched the supergirl finale. and like. what the fuck guys.

that might have been the biggest queer analogy i've ever seen without it being explicitly stated. the whole talk where kara compares how she feels like she's been trapped, how she's been hiding and never living her authentic truth to alex feeling free and joyful with her wife.

the life she wants to have. the metaphors of her not feeling ready to come out. the constant parallels to alex's journey and her wedding vows resonating with kara so deeply. CAT SAYING "most of all, i hope you choose to become your full self."

TEARS. CRYING. LIKE HAPPY PRIDE MONTH??? I GUESS???

and then, AND THEN- out of every single person, lena luthor is the one she has her last conversation with. she is the one to support her, to believe in her, like she always has. lena comparing how both of them were always being told who they were supposed to be, the roles society set up for them, and how they both defied it by becoming friends.

no, because don't get me started with how lillian said in the very beginning of the episode to lena: "live your life the way you want to live it." the insane queer metaphors and parallels with her magic being programmed out of her as a kid because 'it wasn't how the luthor family was supposed to be".

lena turning to kara in that conversation, saying she's finally living her own life and it feels amazing, inviting kara to join her and go through and take on that journey together. kara wondering how it would feel like to connect with someone as her full self NOT KNOWING THAT PERSON IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER? lena just responding "i think it'd be empowering" WISTFULLY? i can't do this guys i sobbed.

like TF DO YOU MEAN "i didn't get to grow up to be the person i was supposed to be, and i think it's the same for you" and "i give people speeches on how to live their best lives, but i'm too afraid to live my own".

also, ain't no way they killed off william AND made mon-el come back JUST to confirm that ship was never becoming canon. the writers really said yeah, both of them will be the only people at the wedding with absolutely no other love interests except each other!!

finally, on a less serious note, in that last cat + kara conversation, the way she said-

"i just feel..."

"bi...furcated?"

and i was like LMAO WAS CAT JUST GONNA SAY "KARA, YOU'RE BI GIRLIE."

tl;dr: that was an insane show to go through, i can only imagine how the fans reacted, but man. queerbaiting's really something isn't it. i'm gonna cry and read more supercorp fanfiction.

despite knowing what was going to happen, snotlout's redemption and eventual downfall was so so heartbreaking to me. we spend the past 10 books witnessing how much he's tormented and bullied hiccup that we all feel the same anger and frustration and resentment as fishlegs does in the beginning of 11. i was, maybe, even rooting for something a little bad to happen to him so that he can feel even a fraction of the humiliation that he put hiccup through. but time and time again hiccup, with his inherent goodness and wonderful capacity to always try and see the best in people, reminds us that people need and deserve second chances. even third, fourth and fifth chances. even when hiccup was faced with the certainty that snotlout was set on betraying him from the start.

that's why it was so satisfying to get to the emotional catharsis of the swordfight. snotlout practically begging for hiccup to hate him and hiccup genuinely not having it in him to be able to. and even after that, even after he disarms hiccup and is seconds from killing him - he doesn't. and then hiccup comforts snotlout through it. he tells him words that snotlout didn't know he's been desperate to hear. he tells him he's being too hard on himself. he tells him he's a hero. he opens a door inside snotlout's life for the first time in a long time. despite everything, he offers him another choice to join the dragonmarkers. and snotlout accepts. he bows to hiccup, he calls him king, pledges his sword to his service forever, shakes his hand and chooses to bear the dragonmark.

and it's this moment we finally seeing the seeds of change planted in snotlout sprout - instigated by gobber teaching him a lesson in the amber slavelands and reminding him what the black star represents: pride, honour, bravery. all the times we see snotlout give in to vulnerability and ponder on his choices, he's always holding onto it. which makes it all the more symbolic when he hangs it around hiccup's neck during his last act of valour.

just like how the book tells us that the tides can change so fast, through hiccup, my heart was able to give snotlout another chance too. and it's because of hiccup's belief in snotlout's potential for more that makes you feel so strongly about his death. snotlout's excitement at finally being on hiccup's side, at doing what's right, at having the opportunity to actually be a hero - we can't help but feel that burst of pride, we can't help but root for him. and so we feel the loss, as hiccup did. and it's a point driven home when hiccup ends the epilogue with how he’s carried snotlout and his sacrifice with him all throughout his life. and how time has rubbed away at the black star.

that now the star doesn't look black at all. just gold.

WORLD OF HEROES R - X-MEN

Metahumans are a rarity in the human population. Natural-borns even more so. Some argue that humans who develop their powers through natural development, rather than unusual circumstances, are more likely to abuse their powers and negatively affect humanity, like a "cancerous mutation." Professor Charles Xavier argues otherwise, and has set up a special facility for humans who are still trying to figure out their powers. If anyone is in need of help and the normal authorities are not helpful, Professor X gives to you his X-Men.

NOTED MEMBERS

Professor Charles "X" Xavier - one of the oldest surviving metahumans, gifted with psionic powers of great strength. Despite being theoretically able to read minds and thus see all the flaws of human nature, he generally likes to think humans aren't all too bad and founded the Charles Xavier Metapower Academy for Gifted Youngsters on the principal that all the dangerous youth need is a guiding hand.

Wolverine - THE oldest surviving metahuman. Gifted with a regeneration ability unlike anything else, he's been experimented on so many times that even he's not sure who he was before hand. With bones made of a mysterious metal and claws out of his forearm, he's out with a desire to make sure no other person is made to suffer as he's had to, and he's the best there is at making sure.

Cyclops - Field Leader of the X-Men and gifted with the ability to shoot lasers out his eyes, much like Superman of Krypton. UNLIKE Superman, he can't turn them off, and as such has been fitted with a special optic lens to block the lasers from accidental discharge.

Rogue - You'd think someone who drains energy out of anything they touch with their bare skin would be either depressed or a maniac about it, but Rogue's pretty much grown to accept that. Sure, she has to wear gloves everywhere, but she's making sure to have a good time saving the world.

Beast - A metahuman with a clever mind in spite of his beastly appearance (and odd refusal to wear a shirt), Beast subverts expectations by being the tech guy of the team rather than the burly brawler. That he'll leave to Wolverine.

Storm - There are some born with meta abilities that make it hard for some folk to live a normal life. Usually it's something like making things fall apart on a touch. Storm was gifted with the power to affect the local weather patterns with merely a thought, and has grown to be a spiritual person because of it, always listening to the wind.

Nightcrawler - A short-range teleporter with a clever mind and a slightly hard to read face, Nightcrawler is always the most restless guy on the team, but is also empathic to a fault. It's a shame some people think he might be a demon.

Jubilee - A walking talking firework generator who likes excitement like nobody's business. If an X-mission requires a giant distraction, Jubilee is just the girl for the job.

btw i’ve made a similar post in the past but that was years ago (literally) so i bring to you this gem (again)

during team sonic racing, when you play as blaze in the seaside hill race, blaze might say this: “no wonder sonic loves this place” (and if you could see me rn im smiling like an idiot). this implies that sonic and blaze actually spend time together off-screen so much that sonic has talked abt seaside hill to blaze.

first of, i adore them, i want them to interact more in-game, they are such a great duo (at one point if you play as sonic and blaze bumps into your car, sonic will go: “hey, chill out blaze!” and that’s funny cuz she controls fire? anyway). 

secondly, sonic talks to his friends abt seaside hill. that goes to show that he really loves the place and that’s so cute. i can think of a few reasons why he likes it but that’s besides the point. i can also imagine him getting a little carried away while talking abt the places he has visited.

yeah, give them more screentime. we deserve to see them go for a chill run around their worlds before inevitably something bad happens to their worlds :))
