“I want to find something to eat,” you tell your friends. They nod and tell you they will be heading to the haunted experiences.

After splitting up, you follow the mouthwatering scent of food through the crowds of people. You didn’t want to spoil their fun by admitting that you were too scared to go through any scares. And yet the knot in your chest tightened as the distance between you and them grew. The sounds of laughter and screams come from all directions of the manor grounds. The festival is packed, but you were focused on the scent of roasting meat, sizzling vegetables, and sugary treats. Your stomach rumbles as you near the booths.

You weave between people in crazy costumes and groups of friends taking pictures. It’s almost too much to take in all at once. The energy is chaotic, and everywhere you look, something begs for your attention. You’re almost too focused on just getting away that you don’t register that a man dressed as a deranged clown was trying to scare you. You couldn’t think past your groaning stomach and the heavy air pressing down on you. You have to remind yourself to breathe when the faces of the people around you become a blur.

You finally spot the cluster of food booths near the edge of the festival grounds, but it’s getting harder and harder to shake off the unease. Your panic spikes as you’re practically pushed forward by a loud group of people. You slip in between two booths, pressing your back against one of them and taking a deep breath. It’s pretty secluded here, perfect to steady yourself.

It’s then that you notice the smoky scent of barbecue coming from your left. Your stomach grumbles again. The sign reads “Meat Shack,” and the deliberately grungy look intrigues you – especially the humorous signs that make cheeky references to cannibalism. A small window on the side of the booth opens, and you jump a little when a voice calls out.

“Hey, are you ok?” He asks in a gentle tone.

You look up to see a partially masked face peeking out at you. The man wears a dark apron over a black hoodie and a midnight blue mask, a spatula in one of his hands. There’s something oddly comforting about the way he’s looking at you.

“Um, yeah… just–just needed a break,” you respond, your voice wavering.

He’s quiet for a moment, then nods in understanding. He can see the way your shoulders are tense, the way that you hug yourself. What concerns him most is how you seem to be breathing like a frightened rabbit.

“It gets pretty hectic here, yeah,” he says, placing a hand on the window’s edge above his head to get a better look at you. “You hungry?”

“I’ll fix up a plate for you,” he says after you nod. “For free.”

“No, no. I don’t–I don’t want to take advantage…”

But he had already started turning away to show you some of the options. He waves you over and, with tentative steps, you step closer to the window.

“Here, I’ve got some vegetarian options too.” He chuckles before delivering his next line. “I know it’s the 'Meat Shack', but…”

You manage to let out a laugh that sounds a little more nervous than you meant it to be. “I can pay, really. I don’t want to, like…”

“I’m sure you can,” he turns partially toward you to give you a small, reassuring smile. “That’s not what I offered, though. So, do you want meat or the veggie option? We also got a special sauce. You like spicy stuff?

You tell him your choice and thank him as he prepares your plate. You stiffed further as another shrill scream comes from somewhere nearby. You realize that the scare-actors aren’t just sticking to the main area, and the thought of getting spooked while eating makes you even more anxious. EJ, as he had introduced himself, seems to notice. He frowns.

“Tell you what,” he leans on the window after handing you your food. “There’s a garden out back that’s… a little more peaceful. Want me to take you?”

You’re surprised by the offer, but it was a welcome relief that you were grateful for. You nod and watch as he undoes the knot in his apron, slipping it over his head. You see that he has to squint a little to find a hook that you can see clearly. You think he might have some type of sight issues after watching him closely.

“Be right back,” he says under his breath, picking up a plate and walking to the back of the booth.

You’re not alone for long, because he rounds the corner toward you. He smiles down at you, and you take in just how tall he is. Not in an intimidating way either – he’s more like a gentle giant. The sound of aluminum crunching meets your ears, and you notice that you were unknowingly squeezing your plate. He tilts his head to the side, motioning you to follow him.

As you walk, the noises coming from the festival start to fade and are replaced by the chirps of nearby crickets. You go deeper into the grounds of the estate while the path twists and turns. You walk through a wrought-iron gate into a beautiful, secluded garden. It’s as lush and tranquil as you’d expect a rich family’s garden to be – filled with blooming flowers and twinkling fairy lights. It was the most beautiful garden you have ever seen, including a perfect bench to sit at. A stony path leads up to it, and it is placed in the middle of a half-circle of flower bushes.

You both sit down, placing your plates in your laps. You can feel his warmth as he settles next to you, but you can tell he’s far enough to not make you uncomfortable. He was thoughtful like that – a true gentleman.

“Is this okay?” he asks you earnestly. “I can sit on the floor, if you want.”

That made you want him to sit closer. You shake your head, turning your attention to uncover your food. “You’re good, don’t worry.”

The food is perfect – savory and smoky with just the right amount of spice. As you eat, both of you share stories. He tells you about his favorite moments at the festival over the years. Each story makes you laugh, and the anxiety you felt earlier is becoming a distant memory. He talks about his family, too, and how grateful he is to be a part of it. You can’t help but be drawn in by the way he speaks – a softness in his eyes.

After a few minutes, a question that has been lingering in your mind spills out. “If your name is Jack, why are you called EJ?”

“Well,” he pauses mid-bite and chuckles. “I’m not my dad’s first Jack. And, uh… my brother – Jeff – thought it’d be funny to nickname me Eyeless because of some sight problems I had. And EJ just kind of… stuck.”

You make a noise of acknowledgement and the two of you go back to eating silently. It was a serene silence, and not awkward in the slightest. He flips his mask to rest over his dark hair, letting you see more of his sun kissed skin. He looks back at you, having caught that your attention was on him. But you couldn’t look away, even if you were embarrassed. You could tell he was hot just by the way he acted and treated you, but him being physically attractive as well made your little crush on him even worse.

He smiles, tilting his head to silently ask if there was something wrong – if there was a reason you were staring at him. He was so kind to you, and you had never been looked at so softly before. You enjoy his presence, and it seems like he enjoys yours. You smile back, whispering a thank you.

“Anytime,” he murmurs, sounding also shy. He chuckles and looks back up at the midnight blue sky as he feels his face warm up.

“So, [Name].”

“So, Edward.” you replied, continuing to pour mugs of warm Apple Cider Moonshine. Glancing up for a fleeting moment, you were surprised to see the two green themed heros leaning on the counter, Ivy with her signature smirk, and Riddler smiling like the Cheshire cat. With a sigh, you lowered the pitcher and raised an eyebrow.

“What do you think about Pengy? Think he’s cute?” Isley purred, fully leaning against the counter and walking her fingers up your chest to boop your nose. For a lesbian, she tended to flirt with men plenty, it just seemed to be in her nature, you suppose (pun not intended).

“You know how I feel, Ivy.” you shook your head, lips unwillingly smiling at the mention of the bird-based villain. “He's sweet, cute, unbelievably polite.” Another sigh, this one an odd mix of listful and discouraged. “And way, way, out of my league.”

“Mhmhm.” Edward hummed, waving his hand dismissively at the idea. “Yes- but would you kiss him?”

“No, Edward, I wouldn't,” you drawled on sarcastically as you started to fill the last two mugs, “of course I would! I’d do it in a heartbeat. But he doesn't like me like that, Eddie.”

They shared a look, before slinking out of the kitchen without another word. You sighed, shaking your head as you poured the last mug. “Bane! Mind leadin’ me a hand in here?”

Once everyone had gotten their drinks, some with alcoholic hot cocoa, others with your Apple Cider Moonshine, and Freeze with his eggnog, the festivities had officially started. Edward had a Christmas based trivia game, Harley and Ivy with karaoke, along with several various board games and movies in the background. It was going.. amazing, surprisingly. Jervis and Jonathan hadn't fought once, Harley didn't do a single prank, and Bane didn't break anything by accident.

The night was going great, and now it was time for presents.

“Mine first!” Harley chirped, jumping up before anyone else could. “Or- Emmett's first, technically, but it's from me!” She downright leaped over Jon and Freeze to reach the tree, grabbing a small black box with a red ribbon keeping it closed. Rushing back to the group, she dropped it on your lap with a beaming smile.

“I’m.. Very worried about this.” you murmured, taking a nervous glance at Oswald who was beside you. After everyone else took their seats before him, he was forced to sit next to you, which you far from minded. “This.. This better not be a glitter bomb Harls, because if it is-”

“Just open it!”

“Okay-! Okay.” you sighed, Harley backing away which made your eyebrows raise. “Ozzie, if I go down, will you go down with me?” your words were joking, but nonetheless the less Oswald took them to heart.

“Of course, my dear owl, if you are coated in glitter, I will be too.” He grinned, scooting closer so the box was between you both. One more glance at Harley, and you tugged off the ribbon.

There was a flash of white, before something leaped from the box like a jack-in-the-box, the ‘jack’ now a couple inches above your head, between you and Oswald. you blinked, a bit bewildered, turning to glare at the clown. “Really?” It wasn't angry, more so just confused and a bit annoyed. “Better than last year's glitter bomb…”

“Look up.” Harley giggled, pointing to the jack. Oswald and you did it at the same time, and your eyes widened at the round, tear shaped leaves, and white berries.

Mistletoe.

You both looked at eachother, eyes wide and face steadying turning more red.

“Well?” Ed called from the beanbag he was sharing with Harley, grinning, “what are you waiting for?”

“Oh- I- Oswald, you don't-”

“Dear if you don't want to kiss-”

Silence, both of you staring as realization seemed to kick in. You both wanted to kiss each other, but simply just.. thought the other one didn't. That by itself was a revelation, but right now you had seven of your shared friends watching with bated breaths. you knew better than to keep them waiting, too.

In one swift movement, you ducked down and pressed your lips to Oswald’s. He squawked in surprise, but just as your companions started to cheer, he was kissing back with his hands cupping your hips. Oh, both of you were inexperienced, and the kiss was awkward, but you didn't care and neither did Oz.

You pulled away, face red both from everyone’s collective cheering that their plan had worked and from the kiss, and smiled.

“Merry Christmas, Ozzie.”

Excerpt from "Sundae Jack" - Fluff n' Smut SDJ Fic

Below is just a taste before things get spicy~

Oh yeah.  It had been that kind of a week for Ella.

The tub of ice cream landed on the counter with an unceremonious clunk, followed by the rest of the ice cream fixings.  Strawberries, bananas, chocolate fudge syrup, and whipped cream.  After a whole week of work, paying bills, having her hot water shut off for two days due to a water main breaking…. She needed to treat herself.  So after a horrible week, Ella went to the store with a little extra cash she had left over and got herself the full sundae spread!

Jack’s head poked out of the bedroom as he was finishing up folding laundry.  “Welcome back, Sunshine!  Whatcha got there?”

“My salvation,” Ella remarked with satisfaction. “I decided to take some of your advice about treating myself after a rough week.”

In the not-too-far past, Ella would usually turn to a nice bottle of wine and a bubble bath to relax and unwind. But while walking down the frozen dessert section in the grocery store earlier, she found a brand of ice cream she hadn’t seen in years. Normally, she would sadly pass by before she could change her mind, but today of all days she figured why not?  Besides, Jack would probably appreciate a little sweet treat, too!

“Anything I can do to help?” Jack’s ever-cheerful voice inquired helpfully. 

“Actually, yeah! Can you slice up the strawberries and a banana?”

After retrieving the cutting board and knife, Jack began to cut the fruit into thin, even pieces, humming a melody that Ella didn’t quite recognize, but was sure she heard it before.  “You know, most people get cherries with their sundaes.  I like the fact that you bought strawberries, though!”

“Eh heh, yeah… cherries remind me too much like cough syrup.  I know they’re already cherry flavored, but still… I like strawberries more.”

“Blueberries are also great!”

“No kidding, Mr. Blue-Haired-Clown-Sir.”  Ella teased back.

“Pfft, okay, okay, that one was obvious.”

“A little,” Ella giggled.  As she removed the ice cream tub’s lid and began to scoop the into the bowl.  “You know, I’m also a fan of peaches and nectarines.”                                                        

“Those sound tasty!  Maybe we can buy some next time.  Can never have to much fruit for your diet.”

“Not unless they go bad because I don’t eat them in time.”

“That's what you have me, here for, Sunshine,” Jack said triumphantly as he finished cutting the fruit, quickly washing the knife and setting it into the sink drainer.   

“…to eat the fruits I don’t like?” Ella innocently blinked up a Jack, leaning into his side slightly.

Jack chuckled and shook his head.  “No, silly.  To make sure you stay happy and healthy!  So we can keep having ice cream dates together~”

“Hmmm!  A fine point, Mr. Sunny Day.”

“You know what they say, an apple a day keeps the doctor away!  So it’s important to keep you in pear-fect health!”

The silence was incredibly loud as Ella slowly, deliberately turned towards Jack.  “…honey.  May I remind I am armed?  With an ice cream scooper?!”

Jack didn’t even attempt to hold back his laughter.  “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I can’t help it.  I just think you’re one in a melon.”

“I know where you sleep.”

“I should hope so,” now the clown was turning the tables again on Ella, his voice lowering an octave as he came up behind Ella and wrapped his arms around her waist.  “It’s right next to you, after all.”

A pleasurable shiver ran up Ella’s spine as she felt Jack’s breath across the back of her neck and shoulder.  Subconsciously leaning back onto Jack’s body, Ella almost forgot about the ice cream sundae, at least until she accidently knocked over the open jar of chocolate syrup and got all over the counter. 

“Ah, shit!”

“Whoops!”  Jack blinked at the mess, a slightly disappointed grimace across his face.  However, it didn’t stop him from getting a moist paper towel and dabbing the mess.  “I got it, Sunshine, don’t worry!”

“Guess your flirt was too hot for this hot fudge to handle.”

That earned her another chuckle from her lover.  “Want to cool down with this sundae?”

“I thought you’d never ask~”

Within moments, Ella and Jack were nestled on her couch with a blanket, and a sizable bowel of the sundae, with two spoons so they could share. 

“Um, is this okay?  That we’re eating out of the same bowl?  I thought about getting one for each of us, but I kind of thought it would be cute to share…”

“I don’t mind, this is perfect, Ella.” Jack reassured with that ever-comforting smile of his.

“I thought it was pear-fect.”

“Ooooh!  My own pun thrown back in my face.”

“You’re very handsome face,” Ella shimmied closer to Jack’s side and wasn’t blind to the slight blush on Jack’s face.  It was nice to know even he could get bashful at times.  Adorable.  “Anyways, let’s dig in—”

The abrupt pause in his Sunshine’s delight caused Jack to raise his eyebrow in confusion.  “What’s wrong?”

“…I feel like… we’re missing something.”  Ella thoughtfully tapped the spoon against her lower lip before her head snapped up.  “The whipped cream!  Oh my god, hang on.”

Her sudden departure to retrieve the forgotten condiment was amusing to Jack.  Ella’s strive to get something just right might have been considered a setback to others, but not Sunny Day Jack.  He took a lot of time and dedication to improve Ella’s quality of life, and even more important, her happiness. 

Which was one thing they had in common.  His sunshine worked so hard to make people around her happy, it just showed how kind, creative, and amazing she truly was.  Sadly, there were times when Ella overdid it—with the best of intentions, but it was a small secret Jack kept to himself; he felt that most other people didn’t deserve the time of day with Ella.  She worked so hard at work, maintaining her home, and her writing, and finding new inspiration to keep her going.  As the matter of fact was that Ella persisted despite all of the trouble and heartache she’d been through in the past.  And that fact alone made her… special. 

It felt good being in her light.  Incredibly, warm, light, and loving light.  It was only right that her attention shouldn’t be wasted on others who would otherwise dim that precious light.

He’d make sure it would stay that way.  Forever, if he had to. 

“Got it!” Ella triumphantly scampered back to the living room with the whipped cream.  She plopped right next to Jack again, shaking the can before placing a sizable dollop on top of the sundae.  “Now, it’s perfect!”

Jack couldn’t help the mischievous smile.  “You mean pear—”

“Don’t,” Ella pointed the can directly at Jack’s face in an attempt to look intimidating.  Though the scrunch of her noise proved to be cuter than anything.  “I am armed and dangerous.  Don’t you dare, Jack.” 

Jack bit his lip in an attempt to stifle the chuckle building in his chest, but he couldn’t resist teasing her… just a little.  He jokingly lifted both of his hands up in mock defeat.  “Oh-ho!  What do you intend to do now that I’m at your mercy, Sunshine?”

The glimmer in Ella’s eye was unmistakable.  Her finger pressed on the tip of the can’s spout, intending to spray just a little on his nose, to make good on her threat, and to be a little coy.

However.

After a moment, nothing came out, and Ella added a little more pressure.

Jack stiffened as a flurry of whipped cream erupted all over his face, covering his left eye, cheek, part of his lip, but most of it did land on his red nose.  Jack squeezed his eyes shut when he was met with a barrage of sweetness, not fully registering what exactly happened at first.   After one mortifying moment, Jack’s right eye blinked open.  Ella’s face blanched from utter embarrassment.

“Pffffft!” Jack’s shoulders began to shake.  Then a giggle slipped, followed by a snort. 

Ella could only blink back as the silliness of her nerves and the situation itself sunk in.  Jack hunched over in an attempt to turn and hide his face, but Ella could clearly see his eyes squeezed shut, and the corners of his mouth failing to suppress a smile. 

“Oh my God,” Ella released the beginning of her own breathless laugh before she finally quipped, “Sorry honey,” she genitively wiped the cream from his eye.   “Guess I was the one who blew their load prematurely, huh?”

Jack guffawed and doubled over with a shocked laugh.  “ELLA!”

It broke the damn that held back Ella’s jovial laughter as she hunched over while cupping Jack’s face.  “Hey, first time for everything, am I right?”

“You’re t-too much for me, sunspot!” Jack managed to eke out through his laughter. 

Ella giggled back, “Too bad! You’re stuck with me, innuendoes and all.”

“I’d hardly call that a bad thing, you know.”  Jack’s laughter began to subside into breathless chuckles.  Most of the cream had slid down his face and landed on his chest and lap. 

“O-oh,” Ella tried to remain focus, but Jack was so close to her.  “Let me help, honey.”  Quickly, she grabbed a napkin that was sitting on the coffee table blotted parts of his face to remove the sweet confectionary cream from his face.  Jack was perfectly still and let her work, seemingly content to let Ella touch him, even if it was just for the sake of cleanliness.  She could feel his warm breath against her skin.  He wasn’t even doing anything other than just sitting there, messed up by her own hand.  Yet something about it made it feel… oddly intimate.  Especially the way Ella was studying the sharp features of his face.

“I think that’s all of it—oh, wait,” Ella cupped the side of Jack’s cheek and guided it to the side.  “You’ve got something on your face…”

“Ella--?” Jack was cut off at the feel of Ella’s soft lips against his cheek.

The dusting of pink across her face as she pulled back was impossible to ignore, as was a small, coy smile.  “Never mind, it was just me.”

Jack’s smile widened, positively smitten.  “Have I told you recently that I love it when you get spontaneous?” 

The compliment hit its mark perfectly as Ella’s blush deepened before an idea began to form in her mind.

Spontaneous, huh…?

Baby Mine Pairing: Billy Knight x You Summary: Billy's had a hard day, so tonight, you're going to relax and watch one of his favorite movies together. Contains: Spoilers for Dumbo (1941), references to a bad childhood, cathartic crying, so much love it might make your heart burst. Words: 1.3k

"Hey… you okay?"

Billy doesn't answer, but one look at your poor boy is all it takes to determine that he's had a rough day. You stand and hold out your arms. He locks the front door and walks right into you. He rests his head on your shoulder, lets you wrap your arms around him, and heaves a sigh.

You hold him tight, with one hand on his back and the other in his hair, until he's ready to talk.

"Long day," he eventually gets out.

"Wanna tell me about it?"

"Nuh-uh," he mutters into your shoulder.

"Okay. How about this: You go take a nice hot shower and wash off today's unpleasantness, I'll make dinner, and then you can pick a movie for us to watch."

"Kay." He doesn't move right away, but you know he'll get there when he's ready.

Eventually, he peels himself off of you, kisses your forehead gently, and wanders toward the bathroom.

You get to work on dinner: something quick and comforting.

Billy comes out with reddened skin, as if he's scrubbed just a little too hard, and sits at the table silently while you finish up the food.

After a hot meal, you tell Billy to pick a movie while you change into pajamas. Your plans for the rest of the night are to cuddle on the couch, turn your brains off, and watch movies. You'd choose this over a night out every single time.

When you emerge from the bedroom in comfortable pants and a t-shirt, Billy is still standing by the DVD shelf.

"Pick one yet?"

He turns around and looks at you sheepishly, slowly holding out a familiar plastic case.

Dumbo.

You smile at him warmly. "Excellent choice, my love." You settle in on the couch while he fiddles with the DVD player.

You suppose Dumbo is his comfort movie, in a way. It's old and familiar and something that reminds him of a rare happy time in his childhood. You can see how he'd identify with the titular elephant. But you know the real reason he always comes back for Dumbo: Sometimes Billy just needs to cry.

His father had been one of those "I'll give you something to cry about" parents. (Rot in hell, Jack Knight.) It has taken a long time and a lot of love, but Billy understood that it was okay to cry now. Sometimes, he just needed a little help.

That's where Dumbo came in.

You'd been through this at least a hundred times. You'd prop pillows against the arm of the sofa and lie back. Billy would settle his body between your legs, rest his head on your stomach, and wedge his arms between your back and the gap left by the pillows in a hug. He wouldn't budge from this position for the next hour and four minutes.

Even if you were unable to see or hear the movie, you'd still know exactly what was happening, based on Billy's body language alone.

He'd nuzzle his head into you when the storks delivered the baby animals. If you had to hazard a guess, judging by his movements, you'd say the giraffe was probably his favorite.

He'd nod his head along to "Casey Junior" so subtly, you wonder if he thought you couldn't feel him. You were pressed together so tightly, you could feel him breathe, but you never said a word about it.

He'd huff impatiently through his nostrils when the stork made Mrs. Jumbo wait to open her bundle of joy.

His leg would jiggle in anticipation while she opened it, even from this odd position, but he stilled when Dumbo came into view.

He'd let out a low growl when the elephants made fun of the big-eared baby, and a silent laugh when Mrs. Jumbo shut them up and blocked them from view.

He'd flinch when the clowns appeared on screen. You knew he wasn't a big fan of clowns in general, but you suspect it was probably their noisy entrance more than their appearance that caused the reaction.

He'd relax into you during Dumbo's bath and playtime. You wished there was an entire movie's worth of cute moments between Dumbo and his mother. Why can't things be happy all the time?

He'd tense when the red-headed brat picked on the sweet baby elephant, and hold you tighter when the men with whips and ropes came for Mrs. Jumbo. He'd let out a shaky breath when it was over.

He'd sigh with adoration as Timothy Q. Mouse befriended Baby Dumbo, and smile when he scared the mean old elephants.

He'd watch solemnly as the elephant pyramid crashed and the gossipy grey creatures vowed to blackball poor little Dumbo.

He'd start crying the second Dumbo reached for his mother in her tiny elephant prison. You'd hold him tighter during the heartbreaking "Baby Mine" scene, and begin to rock slightly from side to side. If anyone had been watching you, they might not even pick up on the movement. But you knew your baby felt it.

You'd dry his cheeks with your t-shirt when the tears slowed, and he'd twist his head to plant a kiss on your stomach as thanks before returning his attention to the TV.

You could feel him lighten up when Dumbo and Timothy got giggly and started blowing bubbles.

"Pink elephants," you'd whisper when the first one formed.

"Pink elephants," he'd echo. You'd thought this part was creepy when you were a child, but it didn't seem to bother him a bit. You suppose Billy had experienced much scarier things than a few dancing cartoons. Although he'd seen it a thousand times, he always watched the scene with concentration, as if he thought maybe this time, he'd spot something he'd never seen before.

He'd sniffle and choke back a sob or two during Timothy's "suppose you was torn away from your mother" speech to the crows, and you'd stroke his hair until Dumbo's flight distracted him from his pain.

He'd hold his breath when Dumbo dropped the magic feather, and you could feel him chuckle each time Dumbo dive-bombed the clowns. A genuine laugh would bubble in his throat when Dumbo pelted the mean elephants with peanuts.

His eyes would begin to leak again when Dumbo flew down to his mother in their private train car.

When the movie ended, he'd take a moment to nuzzle his face into your shirt and give you one final squeeze.

"I love you," he'd mumble.

"I love you too, baby," you'd tell him. And then he'd get up to stretch his legs, and either put in another movie or turn the TV off. It was exactly the same, every time, and you were more than happy to go through this with him whenever he needed it.

"You sure you're okay with this again?" Billy asks from the end of the couch, reluctant to sink down onto you.

"Of course I am," you smile, holding out your arms as an invitation for him to join you. "I love this movie." What you really love is that he feels comfortable enough to share this emotional experience with you, but you don't feel the need to mention it.

Billy smiles and crawls onto you, wrapping his arms around your middle and resting his head in the same place he always does. You reach over to the coffee table and press play on the remote. He turns his head toward the TV and wiggles himself a little closer to you as the opening credits begin.

You brush the hair out of his beautiful eyes, and think to yourself...

You are so precious to me, sweet as can be, baby of mine.

Henlo Butterfly anon <3! I've been lately caught in a slightly diff hyperfixation (ColdWeather/Hail ship my beloved) but I adore Boomer n Flasher always, so! (Also, I am writing more Boomer centric hcs in the back <3)

Since lately I've seen a hop up in Joker x Boomer content, I do think Flash would be less than happy about the clown's lack of understanding of personal space, especially with Digger.

He's not pissy! And if that nasty Jack-in-the-Box-lookalike gets in a few more accidents lately? Well- it must've been the wind.

I know I already talk about both JLA and the Rouges reacting to their relationship, but biggest supporters in both groups - somehow - are Hal and Axel (Green Lantern and The Trickster Jr.)

"But Sahe, Axel in one of the comics tied bombs to puppies! (Dogs technically, i think)" WE DO NOT CARE, I am absolutely making him more uhh imp-like silly guy. HE'S JUST A KID BEING OVERLYPROUD N SILLY TRUST

Hal, with his tendency to get attached to kids with bad decision making skills (cough cough Roy Harper) absolutely joins in with the kids shenanigans, rip Barry and Digger bc they are what connects them - so they are also their main victims

"Mr. Allen, why are you beefing with a child?" Trickster asked, while Barry couldn't help the annoyed twitch of his eyelid. Normally, Axel was his preferred Trickster to deal with - his tricks sometimes not only lighthearted, but also genuinely funny, while James was always too brash to be like that. But not today. "Mr. Walker..." he can't help the little smirk at younger man's grimace. Most twenty-something year olds hated being reminded of their age and their actual adulthood. "...why was there glitter in my shampoo?" Their living was at the moment rather complicated - Rouges, most of them at least, got uprooted by the chaos caused by the Skull-ship, so they ended up with healed JLA for now. As much as Flash could understand some people's distaste for his villains, it didn't mean he'd let them get under Waller and her little neck bombs. (He ignored the painful stab in his chest at the reminder of Boomer's bitter words "like a chipped dog" - that's how he felt and the fact that he was always on the brink of death drove his already stronger than most people's survival instincts insane) Before he got the answer he wanted, or more probable the one he didn't need, Digger's loud "Oh ya cunt!" broke trough the base, followed by an evil chuckle of Hal. As in the very same Hal Jordan that was flying towards the two of them, quickly making a finger that poked him in the ribs, making him let go of Axel with a squeak alike these of chickens or their beloved Gerbil. Soon his lover ran in after the Green menace, while the other two stood on the other side of the shared kitchen. Also with glitter on his- everywhere, really. "Oh, yar fuckin' with me." Digger said, as he pointed at the Flash, just before pointing at Axel. "No fuckin' way ya both did that." All he got back was two most innocent smiles ever, which said more than words. Barry was going to skin Hal.

After Owen and Axel start dating, Digger and speedy are menaces. Hal knows better than to get involved, because his romantic life is already pretty chaotic and the person he's dating at the moment? Bar would laugh to death. (Who is Hal dating? Uhh, whoever u want him to, bc my main ship with him is Booster Gold and lemme tell u - not many agree)

Boomer and Flash often nap together, since they both usually don't catch enough hours of sleep. Wally calls them old men because of it, and tbh, he's right.

Cap, after two months of dating, gets a small lightning tattoo on the middle of his neck from the backside. Barry takes a surprisingly long time to notice. His response is not PG, so let's not get into all that ;)

After a random enemy shoots trough it, scratching it on the side, and Flash suddenly ended the whole fight in 0.5 sec. Rip the poor goons that ended up on the wrong side of this fight.

Boomer and Flash are the couple that plays stupid games to see who cleans up, just to not clean up because they are needed somewhere.

You know the shitty "oh no, I got stuck in the washing machine" trope? Boomer's the most unlucky motherfucker ever, this man's fighting for his life every time. The first time he's so embarrassed that he stays there for an hour in silence, until his lover finally finds him.

Barry makes sure to not laugh because he knew that it would just make the situation worse, so he let it go, but ask Digger to never again be ashamed about needing help, even if it's something slightly suggestive.

"But it's shameful-" "Digi, I love you, but I also had my dick in your mouth two hours or so ago, please just say something."

Clothes sharing doesn't exactly work with them, since while Digger is pretty big all over (;)), he's also the master of not noticing stuff. This man wears anything that gets under his hand and if Flash has his costume down? He might wear it too, without noticing anything.

Barry on the other hand get's way too warm way too quickly. Most clothes Boomer buys are warm, because the difference in the weather from Australia to here hits him every time he visits his home, and that happens often.
