Tim Tramnitz sticking with MP Motorsport and Bruno Del Pino joining from Eurocup-3 where he raced with MP

Nikola Tsolov rounding out the Campos Racing Team, moving from ART Grand Prix

Matías Zagazeta to DAM Lucas Oil from Jenzer Motorsport and Nicola Lacorte joining from FRECA where he raced with Trident

Callum Voisin sticking with Rodin for 2025 and Roman Bilinski joining from FRECA where he raced with Trident to round out their team.

9 seats (less than a 1/3) remaining! Still no announced drivers for Van Amersfoort Racing or AIX Racing. Interesting to see the final drivers!

Inspired by @/mama_gforce (twitter)'s 2025 Indycar silly season chart I decided to make one for #formula3 with all of the announcements today!

Obviously, it's less exciting since there aren't a ton of rumors going around. Plus i don't know f3 super well so I'm not sure i'd be the greatest at making predictions for the various seats. Also f3 seats are only for that season so it's not as thrilling cuz they'll probably chance for the next season. But i still thought this would be fun and help keep track of all the seats.

Will probably make one for f2 2025 seats. It just didn't seem worth it when the only two confirmed for 2025 are Arvid and Leo LOL

F2 liveries 2023

A guide to the f2 liveries for the 2023 season!

good to know: teammate liveries in f2 need* to be at least 70-80% similar in colors *this used to be the case in 2020, not sure if it still is a rule but most likely it still is. I think Callum Ilott once said this on a stream so I have no source lol

MP Motorsport (Hauger & Daruvala) Changes: not much, the original livery is still black and orange

Rodin Carlin (Maloney & Fittipaldi) Changes: no idea what their actual livery is since they're both RB juniors

ART GP (Pourchaire & Martins) Changes: presumably changed the livery to accommodate Martins' Alpine livery but with maroon red for Pourchaire as a Sauber Academy driver

Prema (Vesti & Bearman) Changes: still looks extremely similar to their normal livery, thank the lord. no huge changes

Hitech Pulse-Eight (Crawford & Hadjar) Changes: who knows! Another pairing of RB juniors, so they're not running their usual livery

DAMS (Iwasa & Leclerc) Changes: you guessed it, another RB junior. The other car looks like a regular DAMS car, not a whole lot of change in their normal livery

Virtuosi (Doohan & Cordeel) Changes: another livery adjusted to suit the Alpine livery. Cordeel is not Alpine but got stuck with the blue anyway. No idea what Virtuosi's actual livery would've been

PHM Racing by Charouz (Nissany & Benavides) Changes: where Charouz used red, white and blue, PHM is going for brown for some inexplicable reason?

Trident (Stanek & Novalak) Changes: sure looks like a regular old Trident, nothing shocking there

Van Amersfoort (Verschoor & Correa) Changes: good old black and orange, is this a legal requirement for Dutch teams? asking for a friend. No changes from last year!

Campos Racing (Maini & Boschung) Changes: not sure why they have different colors since neither are affiliated with an academy, maybe just sponsors, but I'm not mad at it. Looks similar to last year's liveries.

hi!! so i’m very new to f2 (i’ve only started educating myself on it recently so that i can watch this season and know the teams + drivers), but when it comes to teams, is there a certain team that is capable of winning championships but also isn’t like, the best? like for example, one of their drivers can win the championship while the other driver may not perform as well that season.

(this is so specific i’m so sorry 😭)

you've chosen a good season to start watching, i think 2024 will be great!! with the new car, everyone will be kind of starting on the same level, and we have a lot of great drivers who will try to prove themselves this year. it's going to be wonderful 🤭

the way i see it, f2 is much more equal than f1, but it's still not completely equal. some teams just don't usually get good results, but there are several teams who are up in the fight for the titles every year. but different teams have different budgets, different levels of skill in their engineers & other staff members, and so on.

so i think i would say that the short answer is yes, some teams occasionally will win the driver's championship with one driver while the other driver finishes far from the top in the standings. i'm not sure if it's because the team has invested more money and time into only one car, because the car just fits one driver better, or because one driver is just better – i guess that differs a lot from year to year.

but i wouldn't say that there's just one team that fits into that category. in 2017-2019, the team's championship was won by another team than the team of the driver who took the driver's title. in those years, the drivers of other teams were just more consistent i guess. in 2020 and 2021, prema had two good years with two drivers who constantly were in the top of the points. in 2022, felipe drugovich was very dominant and only finished out of the points twice. and in 2023, it was a very close fight between the art gp drivers and the prema drivers, but the art gp drivers were more consistent.

i made a quick lil summary of the seasons since f2 (the version we have today) started, feel free to skip it if you want to;

2017 - charles leclerc won the driver's championship, driving for prema, but prema lost the team's championship to russian time (now virtuosi racing) as their drivers came 2nd and 4th in the championship (charles's teammate came 8th).

2018 - george russell took the win in the driver's championship, but his team, art gp, lost the team's championship to carlin (lando's team).

2019 - nyck de vries took the most points, giving art gp their second consecutive driver's title, but the team only came third in the driver's standings with 277 points, since his teammate nikita mazepin only scored 11 points all season. dams scored 418 points and their drivers came in second and fourth in the standings.

2020 - prema took the title, after having come second to last in the 2019 team's championship. mick schumacher won the driver's championship, but only 14 points ahead of virtuosi driver callum ilott. mick and robert shwartzman scored a total of 392 points for prema, while callum and teammate zhou guanyu took home 352.5 points for virtuosi.

2021 - oscar's year <3 in 2021, the team's championship wasn't really that exciting; oscar took 252.5 points, robert (who came second) took 192, for a total of 444.5 points for prema. the second best team, virtuosi, scored 288 in total.

2022 - felipe drugovich was quite dominant, scoring over 100 points more than second-place theo pourchaire (265 points vs 164). his teammate in mp motorsport, clement novalak, came in 14th with a total of 40 points – but without those 40 points, mp would've finished third in the championship instead of first. carlin and art gp were 8 and 24 points behind the team, respectively.

2023 - well, i don't wanna say too much about this season because if i start i think i might not ever finish. but i think you could say that all four drivers (theo pourchaire, frederik vesti, victor martins and ollie bearman, finishing in that order in the standings) of the top two teams (art gp and prema) all showed great pace all season. art gp took only two race wins throughout the season, whereas prema took ten. fred and ollie were extremely unlucky at times, though, and i'm not sure if it's because of the team or truly just bad luck. though, fred losing both of his rear tyres was definitely the team's fault... but other drivers had good pace too, like jack doohan and ayumu iwasa who finished 3rd and 4th, while their teammates finished 15th and 20th in the total standings.

Grey pictures

I’m gonna get all of the bad pictures out of the way first so skip this one if you wanna see good pics haha

There were 13 pictures on the roll that came out grey and useless. Some of them have a little bit of something in them, but nothing legible. I took a quick note to remember the names and interactions I had with all of the strangers though, so I know what some of them are. The weird thing is, I remember that there was great lighting in at least a couple of them, so I feel certain that there was a fault with the camera. Bummed to have missed the pics but at least I have the notes, which I'm dropping below:

Day 1: Gave MP his camera, and went out to El Chucho's for a beer. We watched a game of pool and caught up, as we were leaving I asked the bouncer to take a pic - his name was Stan.

Day 6: I left a note that I was super hungover this day and only left my house for McDonalds. I took the opportunity to ask the person in the drive through to take my picture, but quickly realised that she didn't speak much English. She was visibly freaked out and declined my request, I felt terrible. Some hungover guy thrusting a film camera out the window at her while she is just trying to serve burgers.

Day 12: Went climbing with Alex and Callum. We climbed for 2 or 3 hours on a Friday night and made a friend called Lauren who took our picture. You can kind of make us out but we are mostly grey blobs. The boys were psyched though. Great climb! Thanks Lauren

Day 13: "think yara took a picture of me while i was gaming"

Day 14: Met a guy called Isaac at the climbing gym who took my picture. He made me stick my hands up and put my tongue out

House Call

Finally the long day at the hospital was over. Camazotz never complained, and today was no different. He felt fulfillment from doing his work at the hospital which was more than when he was working in Xibalba. But even there, he had never been one to complain or feel disdain about his work. He did what needed to be done and then enjoyed his free time. That’s how he had always been. This week had been perticularly busy though, a bit like a rollercoaster as he had many very different tasks to handle and guide at once. Director Sun had done his part though, as Caça expected from him, and so everything had gone smoothly. Now, it was time for some relaxation. 

He hadn’t been able to visit Babylon for a little bit now, nor any other partners. And so he had previously set an appointment for the end of this week so he could really enjoy it and almost reward himself with it. This time though he had asked for the appointment to be a house call. He never really made use of the service before but he had enough trust in Cal, his recent choice from Babylon, that it would be fine. And honestly, after the week he simply wanted to enjoy a night at home with someone who’d be able to help him relax and relax with him. He was on his way to his home now, where Cal was probably waiting for him already. It had been a long work day so it was about 8.30 in the evening when he had left for home. The apartment in the Mayan complex that he had carefully decorated over the years. It mostly had brown hues with tints of purple and red. Most of the items in the apartment were gifts from old lovers. He wasn’t much of a collector of anything really himself, but he kept items that had been given to him. Along with those was his furniture consisting of mostly oak wood, bulky but sophisticated pieces and patterned rugs. Like with anything his furniture also was carefully picked by him. For the sitting furniture and his bed his demands were that it had to be comfy and soft first of all, and not too simple and modern. As such the pieces were all in line with the rest.

When it was 9pm Camazotz finally arrived to his apartment, putting in the new pincode to his door which he had changed it to for that day. The occassion that Cal was going to be inside before him meant he had changed the code in the morning and was going to change it back later after he had left. As he entered he heard his cuckoo clock sound a last time to sign that it was indeed 9pm. The god untied and then took off his shoes, leaving them in a little shoe cabinet by the door. With his jacket over his arm, long and confident strides he walked through the hall into his living room where he was to be greeted by hopefully Cal.
