I’ve come to accept that Glass Onion will be a hyperfixation of mine for just a while longer, and therefore would like to share the 3 main things that have a hold on me
1. The fact that Philip, Benoit Blanc’s bread husband, calls his significant other Blanc. Love their little pet names.
2. The way that Kathryn Hahn left no crumbs
And finally 3. The way that the writers managed to convince me through the entire movie that Miles Bron was going to die. The movie made several references to Clue, from the eccentric characters who receive an invitation, to the finger pointing in trying to find out who was the killer. As soon as the characters opened their invitations that read “to solve the mystery of my murder” my first thought was that Mile Bron was going to be killed. This thought continued onto Blanc telling Miles that he’s basically put the idea of his murder into his guest’s minds, and even after Duke was killed I still thought that Mile was going to be next. Even from the beginning, the movie planted the idea, almost the want, to see Miles Bron actually die. Not just because he sucked, but because they planted every single reason why he should be dead, leaving the audience feeling let down when he wasn’t. Consistently, it was assumed that Miles would die here. Okay maybe here? He’s definitely going to die when all of the light go out, right? He HAS to die here! You wanted Miles Bron dead from the start, because that’s what you expected. So then finally, when we did learn that he was a bad person, there was still the small inkling of wanted him dead, a bit of frustration that the foreshadowing wasn’t followed through, making you feel a hate for him even more. Not only has he wronged the characters, but you as an audience member felt wronged.

It's offensive to me that Dolores Umbridge liked pink and cats.
But I wonder, would a live cat have actually liked her? Or would it have sensed her terrible personality? 🤔

This is it: the heart of the movie. Gracie is in a dress that's so pale and pink and flowy with the tiniest spaghetti straps that she might as well be nude; except for a Speedo and goggles, Eric essentially IS nude. She's on dry land above him while he's in the water. Her side of the screen is pink/warm toned, while his environment is blue (even his swimsuit and goggles are blue!). They meet at the edge of the pool - the closest they can get to each other while still remaining on their respective sides. And while we're meant to hear his impassioned speech as only a work-related, inspirational pep-talk, it's pretty clear that he has a very high regard for her on a personal level, with or without the beauty pageant finery. Despite her objections, she has been conscripted into a mission where the whole point is for her to play along with performative, "acceptable" femininity (thereby losing access to the armour and safety of her masculine role as a federal agent), but in this moment, HE is the one who is truly naked and vulnerable because he is finally being honest about how he really sees her.

In Deadpool & Wolverine, one of the Deadpool Corps members is dressed up as Hugh Jackman’s character from The Greatest Showman. This implies that there is an alternate universe where Wade has to sing The Other Side with Logan, to convince him to join the X-Men. In this essay I will-

I was intending to start watching Underworld this week, but I'm just not in the mood today. 😔 Maybe I'll do a double tomorrow or perhaps wait until next week instead

My movie watching has declined shamefully in recent years. But offhand, the ones that I can call to mind that I’ve watched the most frequently are
- Black Panther - Eve’s Bayou - Rocky Horror - Nightmare Before Christmas (It’s a Christmas movie. Not Halloween. Christmas. Right there in the title.) - Big Eden (... it’s a weird comfort movie, somehow) - All About Eve (... I’m gay. It’s required. They kick you out of the union otherwise.)
The very few movies that I’ve seen multiple times in the theater are Black Panther, Fame, and ... I’m not sure I can think of any others, actually.
which movies have you watched the most amount of times? they dont have to be your actual favorite movies, just the ones youve rewatched most. for example: mine are the final destination movies and scream
