I'm rewatching twilight as a whole (not just the scenes I like, I'm looking at you, Jalice scene pack) for the first time in years. And I have thoughts.
First: The intro sequence of the deer in the woods with the epic music is a masterpiece. And Bella's voice over is iconic!
Also: Say what you want about the blue filter but it makes me feel right at home.

I’ve come to accept that Glass Onion will be a hyperfixation of mine for just a while longer, and therefore would like to share the 3 main things that have a hold on me
1. The fact that Philip, Benoit Blanc’s bread husband, calls his significant other Blanc. Love their little pet names.
2. The way that Kathryn Hahn left no crumbs
And finally 3. The way that the writers managed to convince me through the entire movie that Miles Bron was going to die. The movie made several references to Clue, from the eccentric characters who receive an invitation, to the finger pointing in trying to find out who was the killer. As soon as the characters opened their invitations that read “to solve the mystery of my murder” my first thought was that Mile Bron was going to be killed. This thought continued onto Blanc telling Miles that he’s basically put the idea of his murder into his guest’s minds, and even after Duke was killed I still thought that Mile was going to be next. Even from the beginning, the movie planted the idea, almost the want, to see Miles Bron actually die. Not just because he sucked, but because they planted every single reason why he should be dead, leaving the audience feeling let down when he wasn’t. Consistently, it was assumed that Miles would die here. Okay maybe here? He’s definitely going to die when all of the light go out, right? He HAS to die here! You wanted Miles Bron dead from the start, because that’s what you expected. So then finally, when we did learn that he was a bad person, there was still the small inkling of wanted him dead, a bit of frustration that the foreshadowing wasn’t followed through, making you feel a hate for him even more. Not only has he wronged the characters, but you as an audience member felt wronged.

It's offensive to me that Dolores Umbridge liked pink and cats.
But I wonder, would a live cat have actually liked her? Or would it have sensed her terrible personality? 🤔

In Deadpool & Wolverine, one of the Deadpool Corps members is dressed up as Hugh Jackman’s character from The Greatest Showman. This implies that there is an alternate universe where Wade has to sing The Other Side with Logan, to convince him to join the X-Men. In this essay I will-

listen. i know it's not 2014 anymore and i know it's just a throwaway line and that the russo brothers didnt intend for marvel action blockbuster captain america the winter soldier to become the tragic gay love story that never was but man. having steve say "it's kind of hard to find someone with shared life experience" in a conversation about romantic relationships right before the bucky reveal is so cruel. it's not just about steve and bucky obviously having the shared experience of being "out of time," it's the fact that they've both been stripped of their humanity in opposite directions. steve is a legend, he is an american hero and a national icon before he is a human being the same way that bucky is a weapon and a killing machine before he is a human being. steve knows that anyone who falls in love with him in the 21st century fell in love with captain america first, and that's just not him. but then the one person who knew him first and knew him best and loved him (not captain america, that little guy from brooklyn) so much he died for it is alive, impossibly. and it's a miracle because he's back and it's horrific because he's back under the worst possible circumstances. but to steve, the winter soldier is worth tearing the world apart for because he's always been bucky first. they find each other and suddenly they're human again. and maybe, despite it all, being "out of time" becomes a blessing, because in this century they'd finally be allowed to love each other the way they've always wanted to. like real people do.
like. no. the captain america trilogy isn't about two queer men traumatized and alienated by war and modern life rediscovering and reclaiming their humanity through their love for each other. but. i mean. it couldve been
