Wild theory about what it means to become a mother (merciful)

I strongly suspect that a ‘Mother’ is a realised consciousness manifesting as a person, and not a literal person. Daughters and Granddaughters are people but Mothers are just consciousness. 

So becoming a ‘Mother' means that the consciousness of the realised granddaughter merges with all the other mothers that came before. So, for example, 'Mother Artifice' is not just the person/granddaughter who became Mother Artifice but rather the aggregate consciousness of all the other Mother Artifices that came before them as well. 

So if Dot were to become the new Artifice their consciousness would merge with the present Artifice and ‘Mother Artifice’ would no longer manifest in the form/personality that he presently does - the form that Everett is attached to. Because Everett is super emotionally attached to Mother Artifice, she blames Dot for the future loss of her loved one, leading to all the explosive emotions and hatred. 

This could also explain a lot about Artifice and Cleo’s confrontation in episode 14. Artifice warns Cleo that Dot will no longer being the same person after they become a mother, so it is effectively useless to form a relationship with them. And Cleo retorts that she sees Mother Artifice having relationships with people and does not understand why Dot would not be able to as well. 

If a granddaughter were to experience realisation and merge with the consciousness of the ‘Mother’ they are to become, it explains why ‘Mother Artifice’ can have relationships with people but ‘Dot’ will not be able to do so - because ‘Dot’ will no longer exist.

Recently started thinking about how the mechanics of the mothers merciful might work. Because we know Dark Sonia was the grandmother at one point in time and some shit happened to her, and (the main thing I've been thinking about) we know what happened to mother trauma when he was stabbed. The fact that he withered like that makes me think that the mothers are somehow frozen in the process of dying or something. But there's also the possibility of that being specific to mother trauma because when Xen introduced him during moonward they said his voice was strange and semi human compared to the other mothers. Idk, there are so many things floating around in my head at this information that I can't get into words

And in this letter he lays out in detail how the soul you have lashed to the golden calf of Trump and Christian Nationalism has been led so far astray into the domain of Mammon that you are directly responsible for atrocities condemned BY THE HIGHEST OFFICE OF THE CHURCH. Then he calls you out directly to rebuke you by quoting the theological concept you MISQUOTED AND MISUSED from St Augustine and CORRECTING YOUR BAD INTERPRETATION HIMSELF before ending with an invocation of La Virgen Morena, Our Lady of Guadalupe, to protect those who are being harmed by the horrible actions of you and the fascist administration you serve.

And then imagine having the nerve to carry on with hate in your heart and the arrogance of Jonah anyway.

May God have mercy on JD Vance but more importantly may God have mercy on the millions of people he and our government are harming.

I was going through it today regarding my queer identity and my Christian faith, and how difficult it can be to be both at once, especially when church teachings aren't affirming. So I'm posting this silly little thing I made, to cheer myself up. I hope it cheers someone else up too.

"You weakened me!" By Ambessa is not a declaration of apathy! It is not her blaming Mel! It is when Mel finally learns that her mother isn't apathetic to her, that she isn't disinterested in her fate or disappointing in her, but instead she loved her too much and too deeply. That Mel threatened Ambessa with ruination, because the only way Ambessa has ever known to survive is by embracing brutality and sacrificing a peaceful death, while all Mel has ever wanted is peace. That a peaceful death would have literally meant the death of her child, back when she was still pregnant with one of them!

And Mel's disapproval of her meant that Ambessa could feel herself tumbling into a path of peace. Into a better path, maybe, but a path that for Ambessa has only ever meant death. If she could be more hardhearted, maybe she could have kept both - her family's survival, and her daughter - but alas. Her sending Mel away is not a failure on Mel's part, but in fact a failure on Ambessa's - because she could not withstand the arrows of her disapproval, now she needs to come to Piltover to collect her before whatever older enemies she has catch up with them both. She comes to Piltover to correct that mistake, to show Mel a harder heart, and yet! It's doeesn't work! Because Mel still demands of her vulnerability and she cannot help giving it to her!

Is there no greater expression of love, for her? To even contemplate opening herself up to that which is deadly, for the sake of the life and soul of her daughter? Is there nothing so undoing?
