I also never stop thinking about one of the earlier Rose books where she sees herself in the mirror after church one Sunday, HATES what she sees and breaks down sobbing and then Laura comes in and asks her what’s wrong and she says something like “do you think I’m plain” and Laura kisses her forehead and says “you’re just young and changing fast. and you’re anything but plain now” and then later helps Rose buy a new outfit that makes her feel beautiful again

Pair: Neteyam x Human!reader (sully family, others na'vi)
Warning: Neytiri being a bit(a lot) controlling, forced pairing, cozy moments, comfort moments, All characters are adults.
Note: I had this draft half done, and decided to finish it today. Let's see what you think, I left it open ended. If it's received good feedback I'll continue…it's a short story. But how did you find it so far?
AVATAR MASTERLIST | Ko-fi
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4[final]
Tumblr media
Returning to the Omaticaya clan, where Neytiri was born, grew up and raised her children, was the best thing she could have done. After the confrontation with the RDA, things seemed to calm down. After a year of living in the Metkayina clan, the Sullys returned to their clan in the jungle. They were accepted immediately and things seemed to be running smoothly. But lately something was making neytiri anxious, and it was the future of her children. Tuk and kiri were still very young, they were just starting to live, lo'ak was still in training, he was not far away from becoming a man. But neteyam was already a man, he was at the perfect age to find a mate and make a family of his own. And neytiri was going to handle this. She wanted neteyam to make a good choice, neteyam was next in line to be Olo'eyktan. As the son of toruk makto, that was a position he had to take, and he had to have a good partner by his side. The mate neteyam chose also chose the position he wanted to belong to, and neytiri wanted him to have the best place in this clan.
Neytiri was given the task of introducing them to the best women in the clan, and with the best references. Many girls were after neteyam and she knew it…she had heard how the girls talked about how amazing and handsome her son was, but neytiri had to find the girl she found perfect. But whenever she introduced a new girl to neteyam he would just say hello…talk to her for a few minutes and that was it. He showed no interest in them, it was as if another ordinary clan member was talking to him. But this did not stop neytiri, that was until she met Lekka. She was a majestic na'vi, she was very beautiful. Not to mention how skilled she was at hunting, a true warrior. Neytiri thought that this girl would be the perfect match for her eldest son, besides the girl had told him that she was very attracted to neteyam and that she was interested in him. So neytiri took this sign as a good opportunity to introduce them both to each other.
Today was a hunting party, neteyam with the Na'vi hunting party had a good day. The hunt had been a success, and they were having a small celebration in the clan, just outside the hallelujah caves. A nice hidden place and perfect for carrying on the omaticaya traditions. The whole clan was there, including some humans. Of course, the Omaticaya clan already had to coexist with the good humans, who had helped them fight this battle between species. The laughter, the dancing filled the atmosphere with peacefulness…neteyam was with his group of friends, moving away for a moment to get a drink. It wasn't until he bumped into his mother. -"Neteyam I glad you're here," said neytiri, next to her was this girl, lekka. Neteyam had to admit she was very pretty. But… he wasn't impressed. -"Hi mom…" neteyam speaks nervously, he already knew where his mother was coming from. It wasn't the first time she introduced him to a na'vi girl. Neytiri laughs a little, taking the girl's arm to bring her closer to Neteyam. - "May I introduce you to lekka, she is the daughter of telup" speaks neytiri. Neteyam makes the 'I see you' sign waving to the girl.
Neteyam could see how nervous the woman was, she was shaking a little bit. And she was looking down, he felt a little sorry for these girls. Her mother always put them in this embarrassing situation. -"Nice to meet you… it's a pleasure. My name is neteyam" neteyam speaks. -"Yes… I've heard a lot about you," says Lekka with a trembling voice. Neytiri apologizes to the couple of guys, telling them that she was going to go get more food, but it was a pretend to leave them alone. According to her everything was going as she had planned. Neytiri proudly approaches the group that was waiting for her and watching from afar. Mo'at, Tsu'tey, Jake were looking at her walking towards them, with a big smile on her face. Neytiri approaches and sits down next to Jake. -"And what do you do now?" asks Mo'at, the woman didn't have to look at her daughter to know that she had done something. -"Me? nothing…the essentials," says neytiri, she is proud of her work, she has just introduced an amazing girl to her son.
"You know that's not going to work, right?" says mo'at. Listening as neytiri chokes a little on her drink. "Mother what are you talking about, of course I do" says neytiri, looking to jake for support. But he just shifts his gaze, trying not to be included in the conversation. On the other hand tsu'tey looks curiously at the two women. "You're trying to get neteyam together with that girl…you can tell he doesn't like her. Besides…this trying to get together never works, look at you," says mo'at. Now it was jake's turn to choke, but from laughter. He knew mo'at was referring to how he and neytiri met. Meanwhile tsu'tey made a groan of annoyance and leaned back on the log behind him. - "I witnessed that, and I agree with mo'at" complains tsu'tey watching as jake continues to laugh.
"Hey…but this is different. Neteyam is different, I know what I'm doing" says neytiri, sitting up more in her seat. She was getting upset, no one in her family understood her. But she wanted neteyam to make the right choice and take her rightful place again. "Love…I know why you're doing this, but it's not necessary. Neteyam will eventually find a girl he likes, you should leave him alone" jake says, but he can see how neytiri is looking at him with a pout. Grimacing for him to keep quiet, jake just laughs a little and keeps drinking. he knew neytiri was stubborn and didn't care what anyone else thought, she was going to do it. Jake watches as neteyam is talking to the girl. You could see how uncomfortable he was, fidgeting a little. His tail was curled up at his heels and he glanced at the group of friends from time to time. - "He looks very nervous," says tsu'tey, he was also looking at the boy. - "Why is he…neytiri" speaks mo'at, looking at his daughter. Neytiri rolls her eyes, and now looks at her son. She clearly noticed how uncomfortable the boy was, but she supposed it was normal. He had never talked to that girl before, he might be nervous because of how cute she was. -"They look good together," says Neytiri. - "Yes they look good…but he doesn't look good" jake grimaces, the interaction his oldest son was now having with that girl was horrible.
"Mo'at?" y/n taps the woman's shoulder, getting her attention. - "Oh, what's wrong?" says mo'at, turning to look at you. All the group's attention was now on you. -"I'm going to go rest, I've finished doing the chores you told me to do," you say, laughing a little.
You had been one of the human children born here in Pandora, just like Spider. And it was normal for you to have interacted with the na'vi from an early age… but while spider preferred to be playing with the sully children, you preferred to go look for fun elsewhere. And that's where you met mo'at, the woman noticed how every day you would go to her hut and watch her in awe as she worked. Or when she was doing her daily chores, you always followed her. She never complained about you, you were quiet and calm, so your presence pleased her. One day mo'at invited you to approach her, and that's when you started asking questions. Which surprised mo'at, you were a very intelligent child, for such a young age. Something told mo'at that she had to help you, and accept you. So she dedicated herself to become your guardian…she would teach you, take care of you and make you join the clan. She would never be your mother, but she would care for you like one.
"Oh thanks, I'll look at the results later" says mo'at, stroking your hand a little. -"Hey, why don't you stay a bit to celebrate… kiri is over there," says jake, waiting for you to accept. You had grown up with his children, you were practically a daughter to him. For some reason, neytiri had no problem with you when you were around his children, she thought you were good. But only that. -"mmm no thanks, I want to go rest" you apologize, and say goodbye to everyone. Starting your way to the lab. -" She has helped you a lot, hasn't she?" speaks tsu'tey, looking at mo'at. The woman was still looking at you from afar, with a proud look. - "You know…she has a great future. She's smart and a quick learner," mo'at says. -And not only in the medical field…in technology she is amazing, you have to see how she helps norm, she is very smart" says jake. Everyone is silent for a moment. -"Besides…she's a very sweet girl, she's good" says mo'at while he continues eating. Neytiri doesn't say anything, she just listens curiously and then turns all her attention to her son neteyam. When she looked, she saw that the boy was no longer there. Instead there was a lekka alone, waiting for the boy to return. Neytiri stood up quickly, approaching the girl. "Where is neteyam?" asked Neytiri, looking around to see if she could find her son. -"I don't know…he said he was going to look for something, and he hasn't come back," says Lekka. Neytiri was going crazy, she didn't know what she was going to do with that boy.
Tumblr media
After talking to mo'at, you decided to go to your favorite place. You knew you had told mo'at you were going to rest, but you didn't dare tell her where you were really going to go or do. Walking secretly, as you went deeper into the jungle, you thanked Pandora's nature for being so bright. It was a spectacle for your eyes, walking faster to get to your secret place. Not far away, about 20 minutes walk, there was a crashed plane. You were sure that it was from the first war that the RDA had with the clan, because it was very deteriorated, and the first time you had found it you had to clean some skeletons that were still inside. After a while this had become your secret place. You reached the entrance of the plane, opening it carefully… pushing open a door you had made out of metal. Entering and pointing at it as you closed the door. Approaching a machine you had created not long ago, stretching the rope so that it would turn on and start doing its job, oxygenating the area. This machine allowed the air around it to be clean and safe for you to breathe, at least 10 feet away. The plane had some closed areas, so that the good oxygen didn't get out, but still the pandora's air came in. But still, it was safe for you.
This was the best thing you did…invent. As Norm used to say, you were a little box of surprises, always inventing things and improving others. Since you were little you had been like that, your head was full of ideas and this hideout was the representation of that. Although it didn't have the best structure and your goal was to sign it completely, you were still working on it. Taking off your oxygen mask, placing it on the wall. To start getting more comfortable, he had to be here before long. Or so you thought, looking out the broken window a little. Not getting too close, without leaving your safe zone. You see that no one is around. You sit down near a small table you had down at night, starting to work on the new oxygen mask prototype you were making. You were so busy, you didn't hear the first knocking on the front door. Knock, knock, knock… the knocking got louder and you panicked. Keeping silent, and turning off the lights you had on.
Carefully approaching the door, to see who it was. -"Hey…baby it's me" you hear his voice, and smile a little relieved that it was him. You turn on all the lights and open the door quickly, meeting the boy. Neteyam was at the entrance, looking around, making sure no one was watching him. -"Hey get in quick…the air is getting thinner," you say, taking his hand and pushing him into the plane. Neteyam laughs as he enters carefully, lowering his head as he passes through the door. As soon as he enters, he can feel you wrap your arms around his neck, trapping him in a soft kiss. Giggling against your lips, as he holds you around the waist. Sitting carelessly on the floor. - "Y/N…love" neteyam was laughing, as you pull away caressing his face. Arranging his hair, looking at him carefully, studying his mood. He looked somewhat exhausted and overwhelmed…something seemed to be bothering him. -Are you upset?" you ask, watching as Neteyam lays his head on your chest.
He was sitting on the floor and you were standing between his legs. This allowed a perfect height for him to lie on top of you. -"I am… but it's not you," says Neteyam, as you hug his head closer to your chest. - "Well…anytime you want to talk about it, I'm here," you say. He closes his eyes for a moment, then pulls away from you. "hey, take this," neteyam pulls out of his small pouch, a piece of food that he had wrapped in a leaf. -I saw that you left quickly…you haven't eaten anything," says Neteyam, watching as you take the piece of food and walk away from him, sitting down right in front of him. "Mmmm yeah…I was going to eat with you, but…you looked busy" you open the leaf, but neteyam could see your raised eyebrows. -"Oh, that…this is lekka…you know how my mom is about introducing me to girls" says neteyam, taking your foot in his hands to start massaging it. He didn't want you to bother with him, he wasn't to blame.
"mmm she's very beautiful, I've heard how good she is" you speak, taking a bite of the meat. Now looking up to see neteyam, he was looking at you with a soft smile on his lips. His little eyes are sparkling, as if he is looking at the most beautiful thing in this universe. -"But she's not as beautiful as you…you know that," says neteyam, watching you grimace. Trying not to laugh or choke. Neteyam reaches out his hand, to wipe some sauce from your lips. - "I'm serious… you are so beautiful in my eyes" says the boy, leaving you speechless. He always left you speechless.
You two had grown up together, although you preferred to be with mo'at. You also went to play with spider and the sully boys. Even when you were growing up you preferred to be with neteyam, nothing ever happened. You were just good friends, it wasn't until neteyam had to leave the clan that you noticed that your feelings for him were much greater. Just like neteyam, you promised each other that you would see each other again. And so he kept it, when he returned to the clan the first person neteyam went to look for was you. From then on you had not separated, starting this relationship on the quiet. You used to meet here on the plane, and only here you could be together. Outside you were just good friends…but here is your secret hiding place, you were yourselves. This situation was time consuming, and sometimes it could be exhausting for the two of you.
After eating, and making jokes about hunting neteyam. You both decided to lie down and talk for a while. Neteyam was leaning back in a rather large chair in the plane. While you were lying between his legs, with your back against his chest. Netayam was holding your hand, playing with your fingers, looking at how strange and beautiful they were at the same time. - "Hey…did you notice that now the walls of the plane are sitting more" you speak, listening as Netayam answers you with a 'hmm'. - "I won't close all the windows though, so you can still get your air in and be comfortable in here" you speak. - "you're great baby… I don't know how you have all these ideas" says neteyam, kissing your hair. "I don't know, it's just natural" you laugh, feeling Neteyam wrap his arms around your torso. To pull you closer to him, kissing your shoulder. Lately you had been wearing the na'vi outfit that kiri had given you, and neteyam loved it. He could feel you better this way, without the horrible human clothes you used to wear.
"Baby… how about if you stay to sleep with me here…today?" asks neteyam, you can feel how his tail gives you some taps on your feet. He felt nervous about your answer, it wasn't the first time neteyam proposed this to you, but you always denied it. Saying that norm was waiting for you in the lab. It was partly true, but not that much. -"Mmm I'm not sure" you start to speak, but neteyam interrupts you. -"It would only be today… I don't want to leave you" neteyam hugs you more tightly. Norm wasn't necessarily expecting you, but you knew he was going to ask a lot of questions the next day. Just like neteyam, he knew what he was expecting and even more so coming from his mother. But he didn't really care, he wanted to rest with you, to spend more time with you.
You think about it for a moment… it would be fine if you stayed here. This place was perfectly equipped, besides… you also wanted to stay with him like this. - "Well… it's okay. But we have to get up early, ok" you look up, seeing how neteyam was giving you a big smile. In one swift movement neteyam, grabs you by the waist and lifts you up to get on top of you. You were all giggles, feeling him start to kiss your neck, and chest. "I'm at your service sweetheart" neteyam says excitedly, lying on top of you letting his head rest on your breasts. Breathing deeply of your scent, wrapping his arms all over your body. Sometimes he could forget that he was almost twice your size, and that lately he had grown muscularly. -"You're crushing me," you tease, feeling him release you. -"I'm sorry" he laughs, kissing your lips one last time before settling back. You were his safe haven in this world.
In the hut…
"Hey, have you seen neteyam?" neytiri asks jake. They had gone to sleep very late, noticing that they had never seen neteyam return. Neteyam was still with them in the family hut, although he could go and do whatever he wanted. Noticing that all the kids had arrived but him. "No, maybe he went off to do something else, or he's with someone else," said Jake, not really paying attention to what he said, he was too busy sharpening his knives. But this made neytiri even more curious and she started to think. Maybe neteyame saw lekka again, and she told neytiri that she hadn't seen him so she wouldn't be embarrassed. Or was neteyam with another girl? Or he was getting tired. Neytiri didn't want to look like a stalker mother, but she had to know what was going on in her eldest son's head.
P.S What do you think of this story? I would like to know what you think. <3

Heavy is the Head that Wears the Crown
Tumblr media
After the conversation with Elias, Maraeys softens her stance on the decision to marry her children off. Maraeys meets with Maribella first. Maribella reminds Maraeys so much of herself, her beauty, grace, her fire. She delicately fixes her hair just as she did when she was just a little girl.
Tumblr media
Maraeys is overcome with emotion while looking at Maribella, officially a young woman, no longer the little girl she chastised for playing so roughly with her twin brothers. Maribella had to constantly be reminded that she was of royal blood, a princess. As her mother adds the finishing touches on her braid. she pauses taking in the final moments before truly explaining the duty she must carry as the Princess Royal of the Nefrilot House.
Tumblr media
The words feel like fire expelling from her throat, "Maribella, now that you are of age, we must start the consideration of your marriage." Maribella freezes, she knew this conversation would come sooner than later, however, nothing could prefer her for the immense change in her mother, her home, and life.
Tumblr media
Maraeys couldn't help but allowing her fear to the surface as she knew, truly knew what it means for a royal woman to marry, especially a king no less. Her daughter's home would no longer be Henford-on-Bagley, she would no longer be able to see Maribella's beauty that reminded her of her own. Mari's sharp wit, funny jokes, her sincere love for all creatures that helped Maraeys' heart remain soft although she was so far from the home she grew up in. Maraeys would no longer be able to teach Mari the magic that has given them a stronghold in the states of Windenburg, Glimmerbrook, Henford-on-Bagley, as well as the wealthiest state of Willow Creek. She had taught her everything she knew, however, Maraeys always knew that with magic there was so much more to learn. Maraeys singsong voice trembled as she forced the words out of her "Heavy is the head that wears the crown, and our duty that is as vital as ruling lovingly, is to fall in love with the families we ally ourselves with, and the lands we leave our homes for."
Tumblr media
The words Maribella's mother spoke cut her like a knife with it's truth. She understood the privilege and honor she was bestowed from birth, and since she was not born into more free-thinking states such as Sulani where her great aunt Indigo Neptulani was recently coronated as queen of the Island state, or Oasis Springs where crown Princess Ellinora is next in line to the throne, however, she was Princess Royal and would be a Queen one day, not a Queen Regnant, but still a queen. She wasn't sure she was ready to become a wife, a mother, and a queen in a matter of a year. She expressed her fears to her mother, the one woman she had always been able to turn to. Maribella whispered as if unsure of her fears "Mom, what if I'm not good enough?" Maraeys widened her eyes in pure aghast after hearing Maribella speak such a ridiculous statement. Her singsong voice tightened into a silvery rumbling that could only be articulated within the ancient, powerful bloodline of Queen Mother Marisol Thimmerbrook Windsarien who bolstered the small state of Windenburg into a powerhouse within a single generation. "My dear daughter, blood of my blood, you can accomplish the impossible if you set your mind to it and always move through love." Maraeys commanded. The energy in the room, engulfed by Maraeys while she spoke, began to flow freely once more as Maribella was struck in awe by her mother.
Tumblr media
Maribella suddenly felt silly for any doubt she had in herself, she was, of course, the daughter of Queen Maraeys Windsarien-Nefrilot referred to in the realm as the "Magic Magnolia of Henford-on-Bagley", and the granddaughter of "Mighty Queen Mother Marisol" powerful, loving, and magical women were quite literally the blood of her blood.
Tumblr media
Maraeys embraced her sweet Maribella and held her tight as she knew moments like these were coming to an end. While Maribella was encompassed in her mother's arms she took this moment in, every single aspect, her mother's sweet perfume, how warm her hugs had always been, and her mother's words of loving support. Maribella at that moment concluded that yes, heavy is the head that wears the crown, but nothing was too heavy to carry with her mother by her side.

Dancing with Destiny
Chapter 7
Santana woke up to the warm rays of the sun shining through her bedroom window. She stretched her arms and legs, feeling content and refreshed after a good night's sleep. As she sat up in bed, she looked over at her two-year-old daughter, who was still sound asleep next to her. Santana couldn't help but smile at the sight of her little one, peaceful and innocent in slumber.
With a gentle touch, Santana stroked her daughter's cheek, causing her to stir slightly. As she began to wake up, Santana whispered, "Good morning, mi amor. Time to wake up and start the day."
Her daughter rubbed her eyes and yawned, and Santana scooped her up into her arms, cradling her against her chest. She stood up and carried her over to the window, where they both gazed out at the bright, sunny morning.
"Look, mi vida," Santana said, pointing outside. "The sun is shining, and the birds are singing. It's going to be a beautiful day."
Her daughter smiled and snuggled closer to her, feeling safe and loved in her mother's embrace.
Santana carried her daughter into the kitchen, where she put her in the chair and prepared breakfast. As she cooked, she sang a happy tune, the sound of her voice filling the room with joy and warmth.
Sophia giggled at her mother. “Mama, you happy today?”
“I am very happy today, baby girl,” Santana smiled at her daughter.
At that moment Santana’s phone started ringing. She picked it up. “Hello?”
“Hey, Santana,” Brittany said, trying to keep her voice steady. “I’m just calling to see if you are free on Friday night.”
Santana smiled, pleased that Brittany called her so soon. "I think I can make it work," she said, her voice teasing.
Brittany felt her cheeks flush with embarrassment. "I was hoping we could go out to dinner," she said, the words spilling out in a rush.
Santana felt her own heart flutter at the invitation. "I'd love to," she said, her voice softening.
Brittany let out a small sigh of relief. "Okay, great. It's nothing too fancy, just a little restaurant I found that I've been wanting to try. I hope that's okay."
Santana chuckled, delighted by Brittany's thoughtfulness. "Of course it's okay," she said. "I'm just happy to spend time with you."
Brittany felt a warmth spread through her chest at Santana's words. "I'm happy too," she said, feeling more comfortable now that Santana had agreed to the date.
Santana then paused for a moment before continuing. "I should let you know that I'll need to ask my mom to look after Sophia for the night," she said.
Brittany could hear the concern in Santana's voice, and it made her heart swell with affection. "Oh, of course. You can just let me know if something comes up," she said.
Santana quickly reassured her. "I just want to make sure that Sophia is in good hands while we're out. My mom will be happy to look after Soph."
Brittany smiled, feeling her heart flutter with excitement. "After spending a lot of time with Sophia, I can see why," she said. "I'm really looking forward to it."
Santana smiled too, her own heart feeling full. "Me too," she said, feeling grateful for the chance to spend time with Brittany. "It's a date, then."
Santana felt her cheeks flush with excitement as she hung up the phone.
Brittany had just hung up the phone with Santana, feeling a sense of giddiness wash over her. She couldn't help but smile as she twirled around the dance studio, her heart racing with excitement.
As she was practicing her routine, Mike walked in and immediately noticed her happy demeanour. "Hey, what's got you so giddy?" he asked, his own face breaking into a smile.
Brittany turned to him, her eyes alight with joy. "I just asked Santana out on a date," she said, her voice practically singing.
Mike's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Really? That's great!" he exclaimed, feeling happy for his friend. "When's the big night?"
Brittany paused for a moment, trying to remember the details. "Friday night," she said, feeling a small blush creeping up on her cheeks.
Mike grinned. "Nice! You two are gonna have a blast. What are you guys gonna do?"
"We're just going out to dinner, nothing too fancy," Brittany said, her mind already racing with excitement. "But I'm just really happy to spend time with her."
Mike nodded, a look of understanding on his face. "Yeah, I know what you mean.”
Brittany nodded, a dreamy look on her face. "I can't wait to see where this goes."
Mike gave her a playful nudge. "I'm sure it's gonna go great. I’m really happy for you Britt, it’s about time you tried again. Santana seems like a really genuine person."
Brittany felt her heart swell with affection for her friend. "Thanks, Mike. That means a lot to me. She is, I trust her."
Mike grinned. "That’s great, Britt. I just want to see you happy. Just make sure you protect your heart, you can always come to me and Tina, you know that right?”
“I know. I get that it was hard for you as well. I was a mess after Jake, and I put that all on you. I think it was because he left right after… well you know.”
Mike reached out to rub Brittany’s shoulder. “I know. You don’t need to worry about me and Tina, we will always be here for you through thick and thin. Does Santana know about them?”
“No, I haven’t told her that yet,” Brittany said sadly. “I just don’t wanna scare her off, you know? I mean it’s something that I still struggle with, and I don’t want her to think that I will be a burden.”
“No one would ever think that, Britt. Are you still having nightmares?” He asked carefully, leaning closer to her for comfort.
“Not as much, but sometimes I just get really stressed and I guess that triggers them. I know it was five years ago- “
Mike interrupted her. “Brittany, no one expects you to be over it. It’s okay to be sad, you can cry or scream, you’re only human and it’s okay to have emotions. Sometimes I think you forget that.”
Brittany sniffled, tearing up. “It’s just that I can’t go back there again, Mike. I can’t go back to that place. I just laid in my room depressed for weeks, I don’t know what would have happened if I didn’t have you guys to pull me out of it.”
Mike pulled her into a hug. “It’s okay, Britt. That’s not gonna happen again, we won’t let it come to that.”
Brittany laughed through her tears. “You see, this is why I can’t tell Santana. She’s going to think I’m an emotional wreck and she already has enough on her plate, she doesn’t need to deal with that.”
“I get it, Brittany, trust me. But I think it is better to be honest, this is one thing that broke you and Jake, you never confided in him. Obviously, I get why now, it’s because he was an untrustworthy asshole, but Santana isn’t like him. If she is going to be around for a long time, then she is going to have to know how to laugh with you when you’re happy and how to comfort you when things are hard.” Mike squeezed Brittany’s shoulders.
“Yea, you’re right. I will tell her eventually.” Brittany wiped her eyes with the back of her hand.
“We’re always here for you, you know that” Mike nodded, smiling.
Brittany smiled back, feeling grateful for the people in her life who supported her. With Santana by her side and friends like Mike, she knew that everything was going to be okay.
Santana’s mother was coming over later in the afternoon, so she had decided to ask her to babysit Sophia then.
When there was a knock on the door at three pm Santana walked out of her bedroom to open the door. Sophia looked up to Santana from where she was colouring. “Abuela here?”
“Yea, baby,” Santana said as she opened the door revealing her smiling mother.
“Where’s my little Sophia?” She said reaching out her arms.
In a flash Sophia was up and running into Maribel’s arms. “Abuela!”
“Hey, Soph, I’m guessing you are happy to see me,” she said, laughing.
Sophia reached out to her grandmother’s face. “Play?”
Santana cleared her throat. “Excuse me, are you happy to see me?” She mock scowled.
Maribel put Sophia down. “You go play and I’ll come join you in a minute, sweetie,” she watched as her granddaughter ran off happily before she turned to face Santana reaching to pull her in for a hug. “Of course I’m happy to see you, mija, it’s just you’re not that cute.” She laughed as she saw Santana’s expression.
“Well I made her, so she got some of that cuteness from me,” Santana pointed towards her daughter.
They both walked into the living room and Maribel sat on the floor so she could play with her granddaughter. As Santana sat down on the couch, Maribel noticed that Santana seemed a little nervous. “What’s going on, mija?” She asked, a curious look on her face. “You’re not pregnant again, are you?”
“Good one mami, of course not,” Santana laughed.
“It’s just that the last time you looked so serious was when you told me about this one,” she stroked Sophia’s head, “actually, you also looked this nervous when you came out. Are you going to tell me that you are actually straight, Santanita? I don’t think my heart can handle that,” her mother smiled, showing that she was obviously kidding.
Santana fidgeted with her hands, feeling a little embarrassed. “Well actually, I was just wondering if you could babysit Soph for me on Friday night.”
“Of course I can, mija, I love spending time with this one,” she looked to Sophia who was sitting on her lap playing with her hands.
“Do you have a presentation at college or something?” Maribel asked.
“No, actually…” Santana stuttered, her and her mother had never talked about stuff like this before. “Actually, I am going on a date with Brittany.”
Maribel’s eyes widened with surprise, but she quickly recovered, a smile forming on her face. “A date? With Brittany?” She asked, a note of excitement in her voice.
“Don’t sound so surprised, mami,” Santana grinned.
Maribel smiled, she loved to see her daughter like this. “It’s just that you never tell me about this kind of stuff.”
“Well I’ve never needed to,” Santana shrugged.
Maribel smirked. “I can’t believe that my baby is going on her first real date.”
Santana shook her head, smiling. “Mami, I’ve been on dates before, I have a child for god’s sake.”
“They were with boys, it doesn’t count,” Maribel waved her off.
Santana looked shy. “Well, yea I guess this is my first now. With Brittany.”
“This Brittany better be good enough for you.” Maribel spoke.
Sophia looked up at her mother, she had heard Brittany’s name mentioned so many times. “Britty coming?”
Santana shook her head at her daughter, picking her up and placing her on her lap. “She’s great, mami. And she really cares about Sophia, I’ve never met anyone like her before.”
“This is good. I’m so happy for you, mija, you deserve all the best things in life,” Maribel beamed. “Right Soph? Isn’t mama the best.”
Sophia pressed her face into her mother’s chest and wrapped her tiny arms around her. “Love, mama.”
Santana lifted her daughter up placing kisses all over her face getting Sophia to giggle loudly, it really was the greatest sound in the world to her. “I love you too, baby.”
Friday came quickly and Maribel had come over at four pm to give Santana time to get ready without needing to watch Sophia. Brittany was picking her up at seven o’clock and Santana was extremely nervous. She hadn’t been on a date in three years, and she had never been on a date with someone she actually liked.
As she stood in front of the mirror, she felt excited. She took a deep breath and tried to calm her nerves. She walked into the living room. “How about this one?”
“I love it Santanita,” she said to her daughter who was standing in a navy-blue dress that draped beautifully, falling gently around Santana’s body.
“I don’t know, I don’t think this is the right one,” she said running back into her room.
“Santana, sweetheart, you have tried on every single dress in your closet. Don’t worry, Brittany will like anything you wear,” she yelled out to her daughter.
Santana came back in five minutes later wearing a tight red dress that hugged every curve of her body. The neckline of the dress was a deep V-neck, which showcased her ample cleavage, the straps were thin and delicate giving it a subtle and elegant look.
“Yes! Santana that is definitely the one, Brittany is going to love it, right Soph?” Maribel asked.
Sophia looked up at her mom and smiled. “Mama’s pretty.”
Santana carefully crouched down holding her arms out for her daughter. “Really Soph, you think this dress is the one?”
Sophia ran over nodding her head excitedly and jumped to hug her mom. At that moment the doorbell rang, and Santana’s heartrate picked up. She walked over to open the door revealing Brittany. She was wearing a dress in a deep shade of blue that brought out the colour in her eyes, Santana was rendered speechless as she looked Brittany up and down. The dress was made of flowing fabric that draped gracefully over Brittany’s body, when Santana looked up Brittany was staring at her in awe.
“You look beautiful, San,” Brittany said, stepping forward to take Santana’s hand.
When Brittany stepped into the apartment Sophia dashed over to her. “Britty, you here?”
“Hey, sweetie,” she said picking up the girl. “I’m just here to take your mama out for some dinner.”
“You come play after,” Sophia asked excitedly.
“Of course, honey,” she hugged the little girl tightly.
Maribel came up behind Santana quickly poking her in the back to get her to snap back to life. “Hi Brittany, I’m Santana’s mother.”
“Hi, Mrs Lopez, it’s so nice to meet you,” she said reaching out to shake Maribel’s hand.
“Oh, no Mrs Lopez, it makes me feel old,” Maribel laughed.
Brittany nodded at the woman. “So are you ready to go or do you need some time?” She said turning back to Santana.
“I’m ready to go,” Santana said shyly.
Santana reached out to grab Sophia. “I’ll be back later, baby. Be good for abuela, okay?”
“Kay, mama,” Sophia agreed.
Santana put her daughter down before turning to her mother. “You have my number, just call me if you need anything.”
“I will, Santanita, don’t worry. Have fun tonight,” Maribel said pushing her out the door.
Once Brittany and Santana got outside, they stood awkwardly for a moment. “Are you nervous?” Santana asked.
Brittany shook her head. “I feel comfortable with you.”
“I feel the same, it’s just I haven’t been on a date in a long time,” Santana spoke quietly.
Brittany laced their fingers together. “Let’s make this the best date ever then.”
When they got outside of the apartment Brittany walked around to the passenger side of the car and opened the door for Santana.
“Thank you,” Santana said, smiling.
Brittany set off driving down the streets, Santana was feeling anxious and excited in the pit of her stomach.
“So where are we going?”
“Well I’ve wanted to go to this Italian restaurant for a long time. Mike and Tina recommended it, but I didn’t think it was the kind of place you take a friend to,” Brittany said.
“That sounds good. You look amazing by the way, I don’t think I’ve said that yet,” Santana
“Thanks,” Brittany said before she reached out to take Santana’s hand over the console.
They drove the rest of the way in a comfortable silence. When they pulled up at the restaurant ten minutes later Brittany walked back around to open the door for Santana, offering her hand for her to hold. As they entered the restaurant, they were greeted by the rich aroma of freshly cooked pasta and the sounds of Italian music playing softly in the background.
The maître d’ showed them to a cosy table in a corner of the restaurant, where they could enjoy a private and intimate dinner. The table was adorned with a simple white tablecloth and a flickering candle that added to the ambiance of the restaurant.
“I can see why you wouldn’t want to come here with a friend,” Santana said, gaining her confidence back.
“Yea,” Brittany laughed, “it might be a bit too intimate for a friend, wouldn’t want to give them the wrong idea.”
“Oh really, so you’re not a player then. Looking like you I’m surprised there isn’t a line of people waiting for a chance,” Santana smirked.
“If there was, they’re going to be waiting a long time because I only have my eye on one beautiful woman,” Brittany spoke as she looked deep into Santana’s eyes.
Santana ducked her head blushing. The waiter eventually came over to take their drinks.
“Do you like champagne?” Brittany looked to Santana.
“Yes, but- “
“We’ll have a bottle of champagne, please.” The waiter nodded and walked off, leaving them alone again.
“Brittany, the champagne-“
Brittany interrupted her again. “It’s okay, you’ll like it I promise,” she said not drawing attention to what Santana was really going to say. She reached out and put her hand on top of Santana’s. “I’m really glad you said yes to tonight.”
“Of course I did,” Santana laughed. “What kind of crazy woman would say no!”
Brittany squeezed her hand. “You are such a dork, but you are also so damn adorable.”
Santana ducked her head blushing again. “Thanks, Britt.”
The waiter brought over the champagne and took their food orders. “So, I don’t think I have ever asked you what you are studying at college,” Brittany broke the silence.
“I’m doing a business course, I figured it would give me the best options for a career after college,” Brittany nodded at Santana in understanding. “Did you go to college?” She asked Brittany.
“I was going to go to Julliard on a dance scholarship, but I dropped out before my first semester started,” Brittany looked down sadly.
Santana saw this and decided not to press the subject because she didn’t want to upset Brittany on their first date. “But now you are the greatest dance teacher to walk the face of the earth!” Santana said very seriously trying to get Brittany to laugh.
It worked. “Oh really? Who gave me that label?”
“Only your number one fan,” Santana said referring to Sophia. “You have to believe her as well because are you gonna tell that adorable girl she is wrong.”
“Of course not! I definitely believe her. God she must have been the cutest baby, I mean she is still cute now but seriously,” Brittany stuttered.
“I get you Britt,” Santana laughed. “She was an exceptionally cute child, I don’t know where she got it from actually,” Santana said pinching her chin.
“Are you fishing for compliments, Miss Lopez?” Brittany giggled.
“I don’t know what you are talking about, Miss Pierce,” Santana replied coyly.
At this moment the food came and interrupted their intense staring competition. Brittany had ordered a Risotto and Santana was eating Carbonara. They sat in silence for a while, but it wasn’t uncomfortable, in fact Santana felt more comfortable than she had with another person in a long time.
“You have a preference for Italian food, don’t you?” Santana said, breaking the silence.
“Hmm?” Brittany looked up from her meal with a questioning look in her eye.
“When you came over to my apartment, we had spaghetti.” Santana reminded her.
Brittany smiled. “That was a great day, Sophia picked that dish though if you remember. However, she picked well because I do love Italian food. What about you?”
“Oh I love it, I just never get to eat it,” Santana spoke, and Brittany looked at her confused.
“Why not?”
“If I ate Italian food as much as I would like then I would never look the same,” she laughed. “I honestly don’t know how you look so amazing and still eat pasta whenever you want.”
Brittany raised her eyebrow. “I truly don’t think there is any way that you could not look sexy, and I dance a lot.”
Santana blushed at Brittany’s comment and looked back down to continue eating her meal.
“Seriously,” Brittany said, slowly sliding her foot up Santana’s leg. “You are the sexiest person I have ever laid my eyes on.”
The teasing touch made Santana’s heart race and sent a jolt of electricity coursing through her body. Brittany smiled and Santana knew that she had felt it too.
They eventually finished their meals, and the waiter cleared their plates before asking if they wanted a dessert. “I think we’ll just get the check please.”
Santana went into her purse to grab her card but before she could Brittany handed hers to the waiter. “Brittany, I can pay for my own dinner,” Santana said feeling small.
“Sweetheart,” she said squeezing Santana’s hand to get her to look up. “I know that. I only paid because I asked you out on this date. You can pay next time.”
Santana laughed. “You are so confident that you are going to get another date huh?”
Brittany didn’t say anything instead she lifted Santana’s hand and kissed it before standing up and pulling Santana with her. Once they were outside, they started walking down the street hand in hand.
“Britt, the car is this way,” Santana said stopping for a moment.,
“I know. We’re going to get dessert. Come on, San” she grabbed Santana’s hand.
Brittany and Santana strolled through the nearby park, hand in hand. The air was cool and crisp, and the trees were just beginning to show their autumn colours. The moon cast a soft glow over the park, making everything seem more magical.
Brittany led Santana to a small ice cream stand nestled in the corner of the park. The vendor greeted them with a smile and asked what flavours they wanted. Brittany ordered a double scoop of mint chocolate chip, and Santana opted for a single scoop of strawberry.
“How did you just manage to get us ice cream at ten o’clock?” Santana laughed, taking a spoonful.
“I know the vendor, he’s an old friend. You wouldn’t believe me if I told you how many times I’ve been here.”
“How many times?” Santana asked.
“When I was eighteen, I came here every single day.” Brittany sighed.
“That is a lot of ice cream, was it a really hot year or something?” Santana said laughing.
Brittany sighed. “I just had a really tough year and Mr De Luca was there, he sat with me, and we would talk for hours. He went to school with my dad, that’s how I know him.”
Santana saw the upset look on Brittany’s face and kicked herself for pushing. Nobody that beautiful should ever look so sad.
She led them to a bench and pulled Brittany to sit next to her. “Brittany, I don’t know exactly what has happened to you in the past, but I just want you to know that if you ever need someone to talk to then I’m here. You can tell me anything, whenever you want, okay?”
Brittany looked deep into Santana’s eyes before nodding. “Okay.”
Santana reached out to tuck a strand of blonde hair behind Brittany’s ear before caressing her cheek. Then, with a tenderness that made Santana’s heart ache, Brittany leaned in to kiss her. Their lips met, soft and gentle, as if they were two feathers touching in the breeze. The kiss deepened, and Santana felt a warmth in her chest that she had never known before.
As they kissed, Santana felt her heart swell with emotion. She had never felt so close to someone before. Brittany’s lips were soft and warm, as they continued to kiss, the passion between them began to build. Their kisses became more urgent, hungrier. Brittany’s hand moved to the back of Santana’s neck, pulling her in closer. Santana’s hands found their way to Brittany’s hair, tangling in the soft strands.
Their lips parted, and they looked into each other’s eyes. The passion between them was undeniable, and Santana could feel her heart racing. As they leaned their foreheads together, their noses brushing against each other, Brittany whispered out softly, “Thank you.”

Prologue

June 25th, 2013
9:55 PM
Today has been weird. Not like any other day, but this was something else. I don't know where to begin with this one. Well, the best thing to start is at the beginning. More specifically, four days ago.
I was watching the ABC7 news when I learned that my hometown in Maine was in a fiery inferno and most of the teenagers died under mysterious circumstances; at the time of this entry, 12 students were killed and 30 others were reported missing. And in the midst of it all was one girl they said was responsible for it: Carrie White. I requested some time off to go to Chamberlain (my hometown) and testify at the White Commission. Dr. Drake, of course, accepted it and had given me a week off.
I took a plane to Maine and took a cab to Chamberlain. The driver asked me why I wanted to go there and talked about the bad things that happened there. "It's a long story" was all I said to him. Once I arrived, I got a hotel room and I couldn't believe how quiet it became. Chamberlain was a quiet town but this was too quiet. It was slowly becoming a ghost town. People were moving out and funerals were seen in many corners of the cemetery.
After I settled into the hotel room, I went over to the courthouse for the White Commission. I sat in the witness area when a young girl named Susan D. Snell came up. She must have been at least seventeen. Beautiful as well: tall, blonde, blue eyes, flawless skin. I thought she was a Victoria's Secret Model when she walked in with a black dress hugging her figure. Either she was going to a funeral or she just came back from it. Her face looked stern and tired. She seemed deeply affected by all this.
Poor girl.
When she took to the stand, a man in charge of the investigation asked her if what she saw was a natural act. Then she proceeded to say that her boyfriend and most of her friends died that night; she also said that she knows what she saw. But it was her speech that stuck with me and I still remember it.
"Carrie had some sort of power but she was like me. Like any of you. She had hope and she had fears. And we pushed her. And you can only push someone so far before they break."
That took me back to 1998 when the rain of stones happened. When it fell on her house. I remembered it as if it was yesterday. I was just sunbathing in my backyard in my white bikini. I was dozing off for about three minutes or more until I woke up to see a three-year-old Carrie White standing by her picket fence and staring at me. She was such a pretty girl too. She wore a little yellow dress with her mousy blonde hair tied in a loose braid. I didn't know how long she was standing there so I smiled at her.
She didn't smile back. She just pointed and said, "You have dirty pillows".
It took me a moment to realize she was pointing at my chest. I said they are my breasts then she said that she wished she had some; I told her that she will when she was older. But it was her answer that left me dumbfounded.
"Mama says only bad girls have dirty pillows."
What did that crazy woman teach her daughter? I said that I was a good girl and asked does her mom had breasts. And as if on cue, Margaret got out of her house and 'saved' her daughter from me. Carrie started crying and my mother came out, wanting to know what was going on. Then, Margaret called me a slut for exposing myself. Then, hailstones fell upon their house and we all just ran back inside our own house.
And I thought that day was weird enough.
Once the Commission was done for the day, I got out of the courthouse and headed to the taxi stop until I spotted something among the trees. It was limping along the moist grass as it stumbled over its feet. I saw that the figure was a girl. She was in her light blue nightgown with her dirty blonde hair covering her face. She fell on the grass and I ran to her. I tried to help her up but she flinched away. I asked for her name and...
Her name is Carrie White.
I couldn't believe it. I can't believe it. I shouldn't believe it.
She was dead. Everyone was saying she was dead. Yet she was standing before me. I told her my name and her green eyes glimmered. She seemed to remember me.
Knowing what happened here, I was scared for her. If anyone finds out she's still alive here in Chamberlain, they might have to get their pitchforks and torches out. Well, not the pitchforks and torches but you get the idea.
I gave her my jacket and took her to the hotel. To make this long story short, I hired a car service to take us to San Francisco and I left with Carrie beside me. I don't know how the hell she's alive. But if there's one thing I learned from this, I need to be vigilant with her. I don't know what else she's capable of.

The white sunshine woke Nat from her peaceful sleep slightly irritating her but when her eyes landed upon your tranquil form beside her, she forgot what put her in a bad mood in the first place. She brushed the hair from your face listening to the quiet snores with a small smile on her face.
Last night was incredible for her. She couldn’t stop thinking about how beautiful you looked under her; squirming and whining as she drilled her hips into you. She hadn’t remembered the last time she’d shared her bed with someone she cared about. You made her feel young again. Reminded her what it felt like to be desired, to be craved by another woman again.
She couldn’t resist her hands roaming across your soft belly pulling you closer to her warm body. She kissed the side of your head down to your ear nibbling softly on your earlobe making your stir in your sleep. You turned your head to face her and she brushed her nose along yours before pulling away to see a faint smile on your sleepy face.
A mischievous idea popped into the older woman’s head and before she could dwell on it much longer she moved her body down your naked one before settling between your thighs. She hadn’t gotten a taste like she had wished for last night but this would be the first of many times she was going to get to.
She kissed your hips and gently caressed the inside of your thighs softly. Your knees pushed back subconsciously allowing her to settle more comfortably. She leaned down kissing the inside of your thighs softly pulling sighs and moans from you already. She kept her eyes trained on you as she licked your pussy.
Your hips wiggled and bucked forward into her mouth; your sighs and whimpers grew louder at the feeling. You thought you were dreaming. Feeling the older woman between your thighs felt surreal. You woke up hazy quickly registering the beautiful redhead that buried her tongue deep inside you.
Your hands found home in her red and blonde locks that you spent many nights dreaming about tugging on. Her big green eyes were trained on yours with nothing but a mischievous and lustful glint in them. She inserted a finger past your folds; it felt cold and soft. Your body unable to resist shuddering.
"Nat," you sighed, keeping your fingers buried in her long locks.
"доброе утро," she hummed against your skin making your stomach tighten with pleasure.
She skillfully added another finger stretching you out just a bit but nowhere near as much as her cock did the night before. She spread your folds with her outer fingers before leaning down again flicking her tongue against your bundle of nerves. She moved her fingers quicker in and out you wrapping her lips around your clit sucking harshly.
"Fuck, that feels so good, mommy," you whined, wiggling your hips wildly.
Nat brought her forearm up, resting firmly on your hips to steady your wild movements. She didn't slow down her pace as you got closer and closer to your release. Your moans grew louder as did your whimpers and whines. Your body shook in pleasure as you fell over the edge, crying Nat's name in ecstasy.
You slowly came down from your high in a pan`ting mess. Your skin felt hot and sticky, the sheets clinging on to you. Your tummy flipped and fluttered when you laid your eyes on Natasha. She brought her fingers up to her lips sucking lewdly on them keeping her eyes trained on you slowly crawling back over your body.
"Good morning, красотка," she hummed against your lips before kissing you properly.
"What a way to wake a girl up," you giggled, cupping her face in your hands.
"Sorry, I couldn't help myself. You just looked so fucking sweet lying there, practically waiting for me to ruin all over again," she whispered huskily.
"Nat," you breathed out.
"Y/n," she whispered with just as much desperation in her voice as yours did.
Reality struck suddenly. This was the mother of one of your closest friends, your best friend. she practically twice your age and here you were naked in her bed while her daughter was away. This was so inappropriate. What would happen if you were to get caught by Stacy, finding her best sleeping with her mom? She would kill you, never trust you again.
"This is wrong," you turned your head away.
"Then why does it feel so good? So right?" she ran nose along your jaw and around the shell of your ear.
"Fuck," her cold fingers grazed your soft skin making you burst into chills.
"Just for the weekend, please," she begged.
"Let me have you all to myself for the weekend and when Stacy comes back, we can pretend this never happened. I promise."
"Nat," you whispered.
"Please," Nat begged.
"Just for the weekend?"
She nodded with sadness in her eyes. You pressed your lips to hers momentarily before Nat slowly crawled out of bed. She disappeared into the bathroom quickly coming back out with a fluffy white robe wrapped around her beautiful body. She was ready to walk out but stopped in the doorway turning back to you with a coy smile.
“What do you want for breakfast, baby?”
-
The day went by and Nat refused to take her hands off you. Making breakfast ended with you on your knees, head between her thighs as she patted your head drinking from her mimosa; of course having to put that down and steady herself from how good your tongue felt. Having lunch ended with your hands tied behind your back bent over the couch as she pound her faux cock into you from behind. And it hasn't even surpassed one pm.
The sun shone brightly and you and Nat dressed to spend a couple hours by the pool. She wore a stunner leopard print bikini that you couldn’t help but gock at. She wore a straw sun hat and carried a small book with her. Her curves and long legs on display made your tummy fluttered. You felt unimpressive and somewhat self conscious wearing a simple white bikini.
“Such a beaut,” she smiled, pressing her lips against yours. Well, that certainly made you feel better. She walked hand in yours outside, settling down on a lawn chair. She pulled you on top of her, your knees falling either side of her hips. Her delicate hands rubbed softly over your thighs and hips to cup your cheeks.
“God, I could just kiss you all day,” she grinned.
“Really taking this weekend for granted aren’t ya?” you giggled.
“If this is the only time I get to pretend you're mine, I'll take every second I have for granted,” she whispered.
You looked into her teary eyes, tears building up on your own. It’s not that you didn’t want her just as bad, what will people say if a very popular and successful billionaire business woman in New York City was found dating a significantly younger woman, her daughter’s best friend to be exact, she’d be torn to shreds by the public. That’s not fair to her, or to Stacy.
“I- I’m gonna take a dip,” you smiled softly. Nat could see the cogs whirring in your pretty little head but she knew it wasn’t something to talk about right now; so she didn’t push.
“Kiss,” she pulled you back to her.
You smiled in the kiss before walking over to the pool swaying your hips a little extra knowing she’d be eyeing you up and down. Nat bit her lip and watched you slowly walk into the pool soaking your gorgeous skin that practically glowed under the sun. She knew what game you were trying to play so she shoved her face in her book for the time being.
A few moments went by and you just relaxed by the edge of the pool soaking in the sun and the view that the backyard gave you. You turned your head to look for Nat seeing as this had probably been the longest she’d gone today without taking you in some way, but she wasn’t lounging where she had been for the last twenty minutes.
“Miss me already?” she said walking back outside with two drinks in her hand and a smirk on her face.
“Well, considering you haven’t tried to jump my bones for the tenth time today I was beginning to get worried you might’ve gotten tired of me,” you retorted.
“Hon, I could never get tired of you,” she handed you the glass.
“What is it?”
“Just a pina colada,” she smiled.
“You don’t strike me as a woman who likes to drink pina coladas,” you grinned taking a sip.
“Well, no. I’m Russian. I like vodka; straight,” she said with a thick heavy Russian accent, making you giggle.
“But lucky for you, I’m not,” she wiggled her brows making your eyes widen momentarily before bursting into laughter.
“That was a good one,” you giggled.
“Come here,” she chuckled.
You pressed your lips against hers moving perfectly like two pieces of a puzzle. She pressed your back against the edge of the pool slipping her tongue last your lips. She caged you in her arms and yours wrapped around her small waist pulling her body flushed against you.
“God, so fucking sweet,” she whisepred tasting the remnants of the fruit drink you just drank.
Her fingers dipped in the water tracing the waistline of your bikini bottoms. She curled her finger over them pulling them down and you watched them float to the surface gasping when her finger grazed between your thighs.
"красотка, I can feel how wet you've gotten. And I know it's not the water," she nibbled on your earlobe.
"Oh, Nat," you moaned breathlessly.
She pushed her finger past your folds, instantly feeling your walls clench with need. She circled your clit expertly with her thumb, pressing her lips back on yours desperately. You brought your hands up and playfully flicked her sun hat off before wrapping your arms around her neck, arching your chest into hers.
Your leg wedged between her legs and she slowly grinded on your thigh. Her lips went to your neck softly sucking and biting the delicate skin as her fingers moved quicker and quicker stroking your velvety walls perfectly, chasing your release for you.
That was something you quickly noticed about her. Nat was an extreme giver. She always went out of her way to make you come undone for her. You had tasted her already but you had yet had a chance to have your own way with her. As much as the thought alone made you tingle, she always beat you bending you over whatever surface was available, the bed, the couch, the counter, anywhere taking you however she deemed appropriate from behind.
"Shit, I'm gonna- Fuck!" you squeaked.
"Come on, baby. Come all over mommy's fingers. Look at me," she demanded, her hips grinding wildly along your thigh chasing her own orgasm too.
You stared intimately into her eyes as your stomach tightened and your legs shook. If you weren't floating between the wall and her body, without a doubt your knees would've buckled sending you to the floor. You grip tightened around her neck pulling her forehead against yours as you felt yourself topple over the edge. Your body reaches nirvana as you cry her name.
Nat watched you with pure adoration and an open mouth as she came on your thigh. When you both eased back to reality her lips immediately found themselves back on yours. You breathed heavily through your nose and when she pulled away you couldn't help but chuckle.
"What?"
"You're addicted to kissing me," you giggled.
"I can't help it, красотка. Taste so sweet," she bit her lip.
"Let me grab some towels, baby."
Nat went inside leaving wet footprints along the house. She'll clean that up later. She grabbed a bundle of towels for you after putting on her fluffy white robe she usually wore. You stayed in the pool still breathing heavily waiting for her to return with those towels. Seeing as the pool wasn't necessarily as 'clean' as it was moments ago you opted to just get out and wait on a chair instead.
Suddenly, on her way back to the pool the front door opened and Stacy and her boyfriend walked in arguing. Nat's eyes widened and she looked at you who stood butt naked in her pool. You heard the two's sudden appearance, freezing in fear before realizing you needed to get dressed before either one catches you.
You jumped back in the pool treading the water to grab your bottoms that practically floated away and Nat tried her best to distract them for the time being until you were decent.
"Hi, you two are back so soon?" Nat said with a bit of annoyance in her voice.
"Jason booked the hotel room for one night instead of three," Stacy said frustratingly.
"I didn't mean to," he responded shyly.
"Can Jason just stay with us for the rest of the weekend?" Stacy asked.
"Sure," Nat sighed.
"Is everything ok, mom?"
"Yeah," No it's not.
You put your bottoms on overhearing the conversation. Your heart sank. Was it over? Did your glee filled weekend with your forbidden love end already? You looked sorrowfully at Nat who too looked to be in complete frustration and anger.
“Did I interrupt anything?” Stacy chuckled clearly joking but unbeknownst to her she really did.
“Oh, no. We were just tanning by the pool,” Nat shrugged with a half hearted smile. You hesitantly walked towards Nat seeing as she still held all the towels. You could still feel her; her lips on your neck, her fingers between your thighs, her core grinded against your thigh, her breasts pressed against yours, fuck. Fuck Stacy and her boyfriend coming home early.
“What happened?” Jason asked passing by you towards the pool.
“What do you mean?” Nat asked, handing you the towel.
“There’s something gooey, like white slime in the pool,” Jason called out and your eyes widened; you came pretty hard in Nat’s fingers but you didn’t know it was that much.
“We uh… we were having a drink, spilled some in the pool. Hence why we’re getting out,” Nat lied.
“Want me to call a pool guy?” Stacy asked.
“The filter should take care of it,” she waved off.
“Are, uh- are you kids hungry?” Nat redirected the conversation.
“Starving,” Stacy chuckled.
Stacy and Jason went to the kitchen leaving you and Nat alone for a minute. You couldn’t say anything afraid your voice would betray you. You went to leave, accepting that this fantasy you indulge the past twenty four hours, the best twenty four hours you’ve ever had, was over.
“Y/n,” Nat grabbed your arm as you tried to walk away.
“The weekend’s over, Nat. I’m sorry,” you whispered tears brimming your eyes.
“I’m gonna shower,” you said before walking away; Nat letting you go considering there wasn’t really anything else to say.
She went to the kitchen and opened the fridge grabbing some ingredients and placing them on the counter.
“What happened to Y/n?” Stacy asked.
“She’s gonna take a shower. She’ll be back,” she responded, still holding a solemn expression.
“Are you sure everything’s ok, mom?”
“Yeah, everything’s fine.”

Taken (Modern AU) - Ch 6
Tumblr media
Pairing: Alcina Dimitrescu x Fem!Reader Series: Taken (Modern AU) Taglist
AN: Hey everyone! Another chapter is up!
I’ve noticed some of you from the taglist can’t be tagged. I don’t know why, I’ve double checked for the third time today and I am sure I have written everything correct. If you find your name in the taglist but isn’t tagged, try and see if anything is out of the ordinary for you on your profile. I do apoligize for the inconvinience.
“You asked her out?!”, Daniela squeaked as she and her sisters along with their father sat in the living room, watching tv. Alcina had just mentioned she was going out Friday night. She hadn’t even mentioned where she was going or who she was going out with.
Alcina stared at her youngest for a moment before turning to Jeremy who held up his arms in defense. “Don’t look at me, I didn’t tell them anything”
“So it’s true then. You’re going out with her”, Bela said this time and Alcina could hear the protectiveness in her voice.
“Yes. Doctor y/l/n and I are going out Friday night. I hope you don’t mind”, she said, the last sentence with a pit of sarcasm.
“Of course not mama. We want you to be happy”, Cassandra said eyeing her sisters with a look making them both roll their eyes, but kept quiet. “But you’re still gonna come to my game Saturday right?”
Alcina smiled at Cassandra and nodded. “Of course darling”
Cassandra smiled wide and looked at her father. “Are you going too papa?”
That made everyone turn to the man and said man looked his daughter for a moment before turning to Alcina who already knew the answer. “Cass I–“
“Jeremy”, Alcina warned and Jeremy turned to her.
“Alcina I have work”
“This means everything to her!”
Jeremy eyed her before turning to Cassandra who sat with tears in her eyes. “Cassandra I–“, he was interrupted as she stood from the couch and ran out of the room and up the stairs.
Bela immediately stood as well, and walked after her. “Why are you always working?”, Daniela asked innocently and Jeremy turned to her.
“My boss is strict. Look I will try to make it okay? But I can’t make any promises” He turned to Alcina who eyed him knowingly. He wasn’t going to come and they both knew it.
“Ugh this dress is hideous!”, you hissed as you went through your wardrobe. On your bed sat Eli and Jane, watching you. You and Jane had planned to find a dress for your date with Alcina. But right now it did not seem possible. Somehow none of the dresses you owned were good enough.
“Y/n you look gorgeous in all of them”, she said, making you turn to her with a look. “Right Eli?”
The boy nodded silently and you gave him a smile making him blush. You turned back to you closet, looking through all of your dresses. A beeping sound was heard and Jane widened her eyes.
“Uh! The popcorns are done”, she said and half ran out of bedroom to the kitchen.
“Popcorn? Seriously?”, you commented turning back around, a frown covering your face. You turned to your son who smiled back at you. “Really?”
He smiled wider, letting out a small chuckle and you couldn’t stop yourself from chuckling yourself. Your son was just the cutest.
You walked over to him and kissed his forehead before crouching down in front of him. “Are you sure you’re okay with mommy going out?”, you asked for the third time that day and Eli actually rolled his eyes making you chuckle.
“Yeah mommy. Tall lady pretty”, he said making you smile.
“Yeah. She really is pretty isn’t she?”
Elijah nodded and you smiled, bringing him in for a hug. You closed your eyes, letting yourself savor the moment, smelling his smell that was all your wife. “I love you buddy”, you whispered and kissed his cheek making the boy chuckle.
“Love you mommy”
You smiled and kissed him again when you heard crunching in the background and looked over to see Jane standing in the door way, a bowl of popcorn in her hands, leaning against the doorframe.
“You’re so sweet”, she commented and you let out a chuckle shaking your head as you stood from the floor.
“Just help me please”
Jane smiled and walked back to her seat next to Elijah, placing the bowl on the boy’s lap, making him smile wide and take a popcorn into his mouth.
“Not too much buddy, okay?”, you told him sternly and Elijah nodded.
“Yes mommy”
Jane smiled at the boy, stroking his hair. She took a handful of popcorn before turning to you. “Alright hot shot. Show me what you got”
Bela sat in Cassandra’s bed watching tv while her sister slept next to her, her head on her shoulder. Daniela was sitting by Cassandra’s desk, writing on her MacBook. Whenever she had the time between school and work, she always wrote her stories.
“What are you writing about?”, Bela asked quietly and Daniela turned to her, staring back at her. And right there Bela knew what she was writing.
“You’re writing smut aren’t you?”
Daniela mumbled a ‘yeah’ before suddenly a knock was heard and they both turned to see Jeremy open the door. “Hey, may I come in?”
They both nodded, Daniela closing her MacBook while Bela turned off the tv. Jeremy walked in and sat on the end of the bed.
“Should I wake–“
“No, it’s okay, I’ll talk to her later, let her sleep”, he stopped his oldest and Bela nodded, letting her sister continue to sleep.
“I’m sorry I’m not here more often”, Jeremy started out. “And I know work isn’t an excuse. I’m your father. I should be here for you”
Bela and Daniela shared a look and Jeremy knew they were silently speaking to each other. They all did that. Alcina had told him about it a few years ago. It was something they had done ever since they could communicate with each other.
“But… work isn’t the only reason I’m not here”, he said and the girls turned to him. “I’m seeing this girl, and–“
“But I thought you loved mother”, Bela said as a matter of fact and that made both Jeremy and Daniela turned to her.
“How did you–“
“You’re not that hard to read father”, she said and Daniela still sat with widened eyes, turning to her father.
“You love mom?”
Jeremy sighed. There was no way denying it now. “I always have. But I know I’m not your mother’s type and I’ve respected and come to terms with that from the first time we met”
“But you still slept together. You still had us”, Daniela insisted and Jeremy turned to her.
“We were young and drunk. We didn’t exactly plan on having kids together, let alone sleeping with each other”
The two girls turned to each other again and Jeremy sighed turning to Cassandra who was still sleeping peacefully against Bela.
“But that doesn’t make me love you any less. I promised Alcina I would be here and I intend to keep that promise”, he continued making the girls turn back to him.
“I’m looking for houses here in New York. The moment something comes up, I’m moving”, he stated and that made them both smile wide.
“So you’ll live closer to us”, Daniela said and Jeremy nodded with a smile.
“Yes. I wanna see my three beautiful daughters grow up. I don’t wanna miss another second”
That made Daniela smile wide and stood from her seat, hugging her father tight. While they shared their moment Bela turned to the door and noticed her mother eyes in the small opening of the door.
Alcina knocked softly before opening the door further and Daniela and Jeremy turned to her. “Hey, everything alright in here?”
They all three nodded and Alcina met Jeremy’s eyes, the man smiling back at her with an assuring look. She turned and noticed Cassandra sleeping on the bed and smiled at the look. She walked over and carried the girl into her arms, holding her against her chest.
“I’m gonna lay her in the bedroom, while you three can spend some time together”, she whispered and they all three nodded watching her leave with Cassandra in her arms.
Despite the girls being teenagers now, they were still small for their age, and Alcina who had always been tall and muscular could easily still carry them if she wished to do so. That was secretly one of the things she loved most about her children.
Bela was the tallest, Daniella not far behind, while Cassandra was the smallest despite only being the second youngest.
“Have you told mother? About the moving?”, Bela asked once she knew her mother was gone and Jeremy turned to her.
“I have”
“And what did she say?”, Daniela then asked and Jeremy smiled at her.
“The most important thing to your mom is that you three are happy and receive all the love that she and I can give you”
The two girls stared back at him, clear understanding showing in their eyes. “You three and your mother are my greatest adventure. And I have missed more than any father should. I promise I will be better. Much better”
This time Bela moved from her spot on the bed and over to Jeremy, sitting next to him before hugging him tight. “I expect you to keep it”, she said before pulling back and standing from the bed, leaving the bedroom.
Jeremy sighed, knowing it was gonna take more than words to make Bela trust him again. “Don’t worry. You know how she is”
Jeremy smiled at his youngest and squeezed her arm. “Yeah. Now. Tell me about your latest story”, he decided to change the subject and that made Daniela suddenly freeze, a huge blush creeping on her face.
Jeremy frowned at her with confused eyes. “What?”
Unbeknownst to him, her latest story was nothing but pure smut between her two favorite characters; Kim Possible and Sheego.
Cassandra opened her eyes and immediately noticed she wasn’t in her own bed with Bela anymore. She could smell her mother’s perfume and saw her scar on her chest. She smiled and snuggled closer in her mother’s embrace.
“I see someone is awake”, Alcina commented as she watched tv on the couch and Cassandra hummed making the woman chuckle. She hugged her daughter closer and Cassandra smiled at the action. She’s always loved her mother’s hugs. They were always so filled with love and her touch filled with tender and care.
Her mother was just her everything. “Was it a good nap dear?”
Cassandra nodded and before Alcina could say anything more, the girl was fast asleep again. Alcina smiled and kissed her forehead. A few minutes later Jeremy came back and sat down next to her, watching the tv as well.
“How did it go?” Alcina asked and Jeremy turned to her. He looked down at Cassandra and stroked her hair softly before moving his hand down to hers, holding onto it.
“Daniela is happy I’m moving. They both are. Bela just…”, he trailed off and Alcina nodded in understanding.
“She just needs some time Jer”
“I know, I know. I just want to prove I can actually be there you know”
Alcina nodded and they sat in silence as Alcina watched the tv while Jeremy looked at Cassandra, feeling his heart burst with love.
“I’m so sorry Alci… I’ve been such a bad father to them and even a worse best friend to you”, he softly whispered and Alcina turned to him, looking into his eyes. “I wanna be better”
Alcina looked down his on Cassandra’s and placed her own hand on top of his. “You will be”
Jeremy looked down at their hands and smiled at the sight.
You stood in front of the mirror in your bedroom looking over the dress you had chosen to wear. It had taken you and Jane almost an hour to find a dress that you liked.
Eli had just sat and ate all the popcorn. Normally you would have stopped him earlier but you couldn’t get yourself to do so. He deserved the best.
“Mommy?”
You turned around and saw Elijah standing in the doorway, his hands behind his back. “Yes honey?”
“Are you… are you gon-gon leave me?”
You felt your heart break at his small and insecure voice. “What? No honey, of course not”, you assured him walking over and crouching in front of him. He looked down in sadness and you furrowed your eyebrows in confusion. Why was he feeling like this all of the sudden.
“But-but you gon love somebody else”, he said and you suddenly realized he was talking about Alcina.
“Oh honey”, you whispered and hugged him tight, which instantly made him cry and you felt your own eyes getting watery. “Eli I love you. I will never leave you, no matter who comes into our lives, okay?“
Elijah nodded but kept crying, holding onto you for dear life. “You’re my everything”, you whispered, kissing his temple softly.

rowaelin month day ten
Tumblr media
rowaelin month day ten -- single parents. masterlist // buy me a ko-fi // redbubble
The morning truly couldn’t have been going worse. Aelin had woken up to the nanny telling her she’d come down with the stomach flu. Aelin wasn’t cruel enough to tell the poor girl she had to work through it; instead encouraging her to drink as much water as she could and get some much-needed rest. Evangeline had apologized profusely, but Aelin was having none of it. She reassured her that she could figure it out.
It turned out she couldn’t. Her mother and father both worked sixty hours a week. Aelin knew that her mother would take a day if Aelin called, but she couldn’t bring herself to make the call and disrupt her week. Evie’s father had died in a car crash before she was even born. Everyone who was a viable option worked full-time jobs, leaving her three-year-old in her hands. She could call out, but she had a mountain of a workload that she’d left last night, reassuring herself she would get it done today. Everything she needed was at her office, so working from home was out of the question. All signs were pointing to an impromptu “bring your child to work” day.
The CEO of the company was a good friend of hers, and Aelin knew that Dorian wouldn’t mind seeing his goddaughter toddling around the office. In fact, she knew that he would eventually steal her away for a snack time at some point so Aelin could get some work done. It would likely be a snack that wasn’t mommy approved, but she would give him a free pass today.
It would be okay, she reassured herself as she struggled to get Evie to cooperate with getting her tiny arms through her yellow long-sleeved shirt. She was mumbling in an indecipherable language as Aelin nodded along, chiming in here and there like she understood every word. The reality was that she only understood a handful of words. One of them was juice, so Aelin made a mental note to make her a full cup of juice for the car ride to the office to keep her happy.
It didn’t take long to brush her hair into the tiniest pigtails to exist, with two little orange bows holding them in place. By the time she was fully dressed in her fall garb, complete with a tiny gray vest so cute that Aelin wanted to cry, she looked like a baby Gap model. Without a doubt, everyone at the office would be cooing over how precious she looked the second they walked through the door.
“Where going?” Evie inquired, her little head tilting to the side as Aelin packed her go-bag full of snacks and an outfit change just in case.
“Momma’s gotta go to work today, baby. You get to come, too. Do you want to see Uncle Dorian?” At the mention of Dorian, Evie’s eyes lit up as a broad smile pushed her chubby cheeks up until her eyes squinted closed. Aelin grinned and kissed her cheeks until she giggled wildly. Thank the gods that Evie was in a good mood today. Some mornings she woke up on the wrong side of the bed, fussy as all get out while Aelin tried to push along their morning. Thankfully today, she was full of smiles and giggles. It would make everything much easier if she cooperated.
After grabbing a sippy cup full of apple juice and shoving the bottle in her bag, making yet another note to put it in the fridge in the break room when she arrived at the office, she swooped Evie into her arms, and they were on their way.
Upon arriving at the office, Aelin was right. The two receptionists immediately fell in love with Evie’s tiny pigtails and her outfit. They cooed over her bright eyes, twins to Aelin’s own. It took longer than usual to make it to the elevator, where even several men commented on how adorable she was. It brought a smile to her face, but it dropped when she thought of her office neighbor.
Rowan Whitethorn was the hardass of the office. She was pretty positive that he hated her, and there was nothing she could do to change his mind. They spent their days arguing back and forth about anything and everything. Some days she was sure that he only did it to get a rise out of her.
Aelin had never seen him smile-- he only scowled. His assistant was constantly rushing around, losing his damn mind trying to meet all of Rowan’s demands in a day. More than once, she’d caught tidbits of his conversations with Aelin’s own assistant, the poor boy begging to swap just for a single day. Aelin could only imagine what Rowan would say about Evie being such a workplace distraction. She was positive there would be complaints about her squeals and giggles that he would hear through the wall.
There was truly nothing she could do, though. Too much needed to be done at work to take a personal day, and Evie was typically well behaved enough to be occupied until her mom got off work and could pick her up.
As she made her way down the hall, everyone oohed and ahhed over Evie. Aelin thanked everyone for their compliments, her heart spilling over with joy. Until she saw Rowan in the kitchen while she put away the juice. He was making coffee and, upon noticing Evie in her arms, an emotion she couldn’t quite place flickered over his face.
“I didn’t know you had a daughter,” he said, eyes going from her pigtails down to the boots on her tiny feet.
“There’s a lot you don’t know about me.” She closed the fridge door and left the kitchen, gone as quickly as she had come. When she arrived in her office, she shut the door and put Evie down, watching as she ran straight for the couch and flopped over the side with a giggle bubbling out of her lips.
The single mother took a few minutes to take Evie’s toys out of her bag, even laying a few puffy snacks out on the table for her to snack on while she played. She went straight for them as quickly as Aelin sprinkled them out of the container. Aelin chuckled as she watched her for a moment, hands on her hips while she decided she was okay to sit at her desk and begin her work.
Evie was surprisingly self-sufficient while Aelin started her daily tasks. She played with the toys her mother provided and munched on her treats. Aelin heard a lot of babbling and a slew of giggles, a loud squeal pulling her from her work as her door opened.
Dorian leaned in the doorway, giving her a running start until he followed, darting across the room to scoop Evie into his arms. He spun her in circles with her legs flying behind her. She was laughing in a way that she only did with Dorian. Aelin seldom got that sound to come out of her daughter, but somehow, she wouldn’t change it for anything.
“I heard tales of a little princess fighting dragons in my office,” he said to no one in particular, but Evie seemed to understand that she was the princess. If there was anything that she liked in this world, it was being called a princess. She understood that word more than anything because Aelin read her fairy tales of princesses every night. Tangled was constantly on their TV, only to be replaced by Beauty and the Beast. They utterly enchanted her, and everyone in her life was constantly calling her a princess. She loved it.
The giggling continued while he tickled her sides and blew raspberries on her belly until the shrieking got so intense he made a face at Aelin and merely brought her into a tight hug as he said, “Sorry. Nanny out today?”
“She’s got a stomach bug. I had no other options; I’m really sorry.”
“You don’t need to apologize. You know I love any chance I get to see her. I’m not going to penalize you for being a mother, Aelin.” Evie was chomping her teeth near Dorian’s face, causing her best friend to laugh and hold her at arm’s length. “I’ll even take her across the hall for a bit so you can get more done.”
“You’re a lifesaver,” she replied, sighing and leaning back in her seat. Aelin really did have so much to do, to the point that she couldn’t even bring herself to tell him he didn’t have to do that. She would take whatever help she could get.
Her door was left open as he took Evie out into the hall, Aelin noticing that they weren’t going in the direction of his office but rather toward the kitchen. Her eyes rolled as she swiveled in her chair to face her computer and really dive into her work, leaning forward and exhaling a deep breath, willing herself to focus.
Quite a bit of time passed, and she was able to get a considerable amount of work completed. All of her emails had been caught up when Dorian edged into her office and cleared his throat. Aelin looked up, half expecting Evie’s outfit to be ruined by chocolate, but her little ray of sunshine was nowhere to be seen.
“Where is she?”
“I… may have taken a phone call and looked away for two minutes, and she vanished.”
“What?” Aelin was on her feet in an instant, rushing across her office and out into the hall. “What the fuck do you mean? How long has it been?”
“Since I lost her and started looking for her? Half an hour. I was scared to tell you.”
“My daughter has been missing for half an hour, and you’re only just now telling me? What the fuck, Dorian?” She hit his chest rather abrasively as she shoved past him, eyes scanning every room while she ran down the hall. How she was able to do it without toppling over in her heels, she wasn’t sure. All she could feel was the panic from her heart pounding in her chest to the shaking of her hands. The roaring in her ears made everything else sound muffled and distant, like she was standing at the edge of white water rapids. Even with her hands in fists so tight she could feel them shake, nausea building up in her chest.
“Evie?” She called out, a tremor rising in her throat that caused her voice to sound shaky and weak. Tears were pricking in her ears as she turned to run back to her office. She would call down to security to see if they could scan the cameras, and call reception to see if anyone had carried her out. From there, she would--
Her heart stopped beating when she glanced into Rowan’s office. It was the office directly next to hers, and behind his desk, Rowan held a snoozing Evie. Her little fist was gripping the lapels of his suit jacket, and he seemed relaxed while he flipped through papers with one hand.
“What are you doing with my daughter?” Aelin asked, stepping into the door. A few tears of relief slipped down her cheeks, and she was quick to wipe them, lest he make an asshole comment about it.
“I told that little shit to let you know I had her,” he murmured, barely glancing up from his papers. “I think that’s the final straw. He genuinely can’t do the most basic of tasks, I--”
Rowan paused when he looked up from his work. Something soft flashed in his eyes for a split second before he continued, “She was laying on the couch by the kitchen when I found her. She babbled something about Dorian, I think, and when I looked in his office, he was on the phone arguing with someone. You looked busy, and I know you have a lot to do, and when I picked her up, she let out the biggest yawn I’ve ever seen. By the time I’d walked back to my office, she was asleep. I told my assistant to let you know. I’m sorry that he didn’t, and I’m sorry that I didn’t follow up with an e-mail or a phone call. You just seem like you could use the help so you could get work done. I’m sorry.”
Not only was it the most that Rowan had ever said to her in a single conversation, but it was the kindest she’d seen him be to anyone. He wasn’t complaining about the little bit of drool coming out of the side of Evie’s mouth and soaking into his jacket. He was just holding her like he was so at ease with the situation and truly didn’t mind.
“You don’t wear a ring, and I’ve never heard you mention a significant other. Divorced?”
“Widowed,” she replied, sitting in one of the leather chairs in front of his desk. Again, his face softened as he looked down at Evie.
“She looks just like you. She’s beautiful.” Ignoring the implications of that comment, Aelin smiled softly.
“Thank you. She is… everything to me.”
“I… I have a daughter, too. Briar. My wife died two years after we were married. Briar is six now, but Evie is… so much less temperamental than B was.” Aelin tried not to let the shock show on her face. Shock that Rowan Whitethorn was a father and shock that they shared a sad history. The curiosity to ask how she had died was strong, but she wouldn’t ask. Sometimes she hated it when people asked how Sam died. It was like opening a wound all over again.
“Oh, she has her days. Don’t let this fool you,” she laughed, dragging her fingers through her hair. “I didn’t know you had a daughter, either.”
Rowan flipped his computer screen so she could see it, and she was welcomed by a smiling little girl with stunning green eyes and brown ringlet curls. Her heart squeezed at the image, Rowan holding her in his lap and grinning so wide he had dimples. Rowan Whitethorn had dimples.
“She’s absolutely adorable.”
“She is.” Aelin smiled again, looking down at her hands and twisting the ring on her left finger that her parents had given her when Evie was born. It was her birthstone.
“You can keep working if you want to. I’ve got her.”
“She’s not bothering you?” There was hesitation evident in her voice as Rowan looked down at the sleeping girl in his arms. He smiled, brushing a few wild strands of hair back against her head.
“Nope,” he said firmly, looking back at Aelin. “Really. You must have a lot to do if you didn’t just call in a personal day. She’s sleeping. It’s okay. I’ll bring her back when she wakes up.”
“I-- okay. If you’re sure.”
“I’m positive.” Aelin chewed on her fingernail for a moment before she nodded and stood, walking across his office and toward her own. Aelin paused in the door, looking over her shoulder at the man with such a harsh reputation around the workplace. This man seemed entirely different, a man that was brushing his thumb against her daughter's side while she slept with his shirt in her tiny fist. He seemed so utterly relaxed while he adjusted their position in his chair to keep working. It was almost out of character, his offer. But she wasn’t going to complain.
Rowan Whitethorn may have been the hardass of the office, but maybe he had a soft spot after all. @rowaelinscourt

Hear me out, imainge Techno raiseing a little girl and she just brings home her first boy friend or something. Techno being Techno just reacts to this in a "hurt her and i'll kick your ass" kinda way.
This idea wont leave my head and I have no idea why.---
Also hope you have a great rest of the weekend!! :D
-🐼😐
Oh my god he would be the best/worst dad ever. Best because he would be so loving and supportive. But worst because he was so terrifying.
Also! Apologies before hand I got a little carried away (I love domestic dad techno, what can I say)
Athena- Technoblade
Warning: none, maybe protective dad Techno?
Tumblr media
When you first had children Techno was pretty hesitant. He wasn't sure if the child would like him or despise him. He also wasn't sure if he would even be a decent father. Of course being his loving and supportive wife, you already knew Techno was utterly amazing with children. So when you announced you were pregnant, you swiftly eased Techno's nerves about fatherhood.
When your baby was born he cried, he was so over joyed at the sight of your little darling within his arms. Phil, having known the lengths and dangers of pregnancies, was glad that you had safely delivered a healthy baby girl. Almost a exact replica of you to be precise. With little ruby eyes she looked at you both with wonder. Quickly finding comfort with her Mother, Father and Uncle. Techno upon seeing her, knew she would grow to be strong. Whether she choose to be delicate as a flower, or as fierce as a warrior. He would be there to support his little girl. With that said, he only found one name, perfect enough to fit his little darling.
   Athena.
Like her name foretold, she became a elegant warrior. From a young age she was driven to make her father forever proud. Of course he was naturally proud of her. But that didn't stop her from picking a bow, and sword up to challenge her father.
When she was a toddler, she found amusement and love for the little things. Athena and Steve had even become inseparable. Her father was gushing over the idea that his daughter had a love for large animals similarly to him.
Of course you were also close to her. She was your daughter, made of your flesh and blood. While Techno taught her everything about combat, you often shown her the gentle side of things.
Between You and Techno- and the rather occasional help from Phil- you guys had taught Athena to be fierce, yet gentle and loving. Something you were all very proud of.
Tumblr media
As Athena aged she became rather beautiful, growing to look a lot more like Techno then you first had perceived. With her father's strong gaze and jawline she became a heartbreaker without even knowing it.
You and Techno both knew she was gentle and loving. But due to Technoblade being her father, many boys and women alike tended to shy away from her. Fearing of upsetting her or her father.
Techno felt bad at the idea of his daughter being alone. He knew what it was like to be shunned by most people. It wasn't something he wished his little girl to face.
You, having been the more positive person in the marriage, knew that it would just take time for her to find the right person. Sure enough, you were right.
Athena had found friendship with a hybrid Ender boy named Nathaniel. Although rather tall he was in fact timid. Athena waisted no time in telling you about her long adventures with Nathan by her side. Soon the name "Nathan" and “Nate” had become a house hold name for your family.
Of course you had met Nathan occasionally. Having seen him when you would walk with Athena to the nearby village. He was a kind and loving boy towards you, and all those he encountered. When he started bringing Athena flowers, you had more then a well known hunch of where it would lead to. As always, you were indeed right again.
One morning Athena was a bit restless in her seat at breakfast. While you fed your young toddler, you couldn't help but wonder if she was ok. You were the type of mom to let your children come to you with their issues on their own terms. Figuring to wait until they were comfortable with bringing things up, then being pushed to tell you. It worked with your sixteen year old daughter and your twelve year old son. So you planned to roll with that for your soon two year old son as well.
Soon enough she did budge. "Mom?" She asked softly. You turned to her, showing she had your full attention. She cleared her throat and poked at her egg a bit. "I invited Nathan over for today... I hope that's ok..." she asked a bit shy. Something was up, but you weren't about to pry.
"Of course that's ok Thena, he’s your friend" you smiled softly to her wanting her to feel at ease. Her brother narrowed his eyes a bit. You watched your son from the corner of your eye. He knew something. Your middle child took after Techno expression wise. The look he was currently giving his sister, was the same look Techno gave you when he knew you weren't telling the full story. With your youngest in front of you asking for more food, you slowly moved your attention away from the eldest children.
"Will dad be coming home today?" Your son asked curiously. You herd the bemusement lace his tone. You hummed and put a spoonful of oatmeal into the toddlers mouth.
"I believe so. Phil and Your Father said they wouldn't be long with the Mansion run" you said looking over to him. With your youngest now almost two Techno started up his usual runs again. When you had a baby in the house he was always hesitant to leave for too long. Of course you always told him you would be fine. Thankfully your children were well behaved and easy to keep track of- that is unless your oldest son felt the urge to annoy his sister of course.
Tumblr media
It was about a little after noon before Techno and Phil had returned home. Your toddler was the first to see them from the window of course. Calling out "daddy" and insisting that you all go out to meet him. With no hesitation you scooped up your baby and wondered out with your kids. Athena was smiling brightly. But you could also tell she was on edge.
When Techno rode up to the house your toddler was thrashing for him. Only easing up when he was handed to Techno. Your husband had the largest smile as he took his son in his hands. Asking if he was missed. You gave Phil a warm welcoming smile. Hugging him when he dismounted from his horse.
While you stood by Phil talking about the trip, your youngest children were hugging there father when he came down. Happy to have him home once again.
Athena, although overjoyed that her dad was home. Found her attention drawn to the young Ender boy approaching from the tree line. The two hugged happily when he met up with her.
Techno had traded your toddler to Phil. Making room within his arms for you. With your body pressed up to his, you turned your head to give him a warm welcoming kiss. But instead paused to see Nathan and your daughter hugging. Techno, expecting a nice kiss started to pout. But he soon stopped when he saw a unfamiliar boy with his little girl.
You had previously met Nathaniel, however, Techno has not. He’s only herd about this boy. So he was a bit skeptical.
Athena didn't hesitate to bring Nathan over to your little family. With Techno and Phil in full armor, you felt a bit bad that shy Nathan had to meet them this way. Your sons stood with Phil, your youngest within his arms. You stood in front of Techno, your husband towering over you with only his hand on your shoulder.
"Who is this?" Techno asked, his eyebrow slightly raised in question. Athena smiled hesitantly. Nathan quietly looking Techno over.
"Dad... This is Nathaniel... That boy I always talk about" you smiled warmly at the boy. Saying it was nice to see him again. He gave you a shy, but warm smile in return. Techno's eyes lingered over Nathaniel. Almost summing him up. "Nate.. this is my Dad and Uncle..." she said pointing. Nathan stepped away from Athena's side. Slowly stepping up to you and Techno. With a hesitant arm he held his hand out to Techno for a handshake. When Techno shook Nathan's hand, the size difference was easy to spot. Where Techno had strong calloused hands, Nathans were limber, long, and soft. Easily one of his Enderman traits he possessed.
Techno didn't make direct eye contact. Having remembered when Ranboo stayed with you two years previously. Ranboo had off hand mentioned making eye contact was seen as a hostile move to Enderman.
"Its very nice to meet you finally, sir..." Nathan said rather quietly. Techno although on the fence. Didn't choose to try and be intimidating. Instead he kept his normal monotone voice.
"It's nice to meet you too"
Tumblr media
Nathan ended up staying for dinner that night. Athena and Nathan mostly stuck together, but both were a bit nervous you could tell. But again you didn't push it.
After dinner Phil took the kids outside for a late night walk. Figuring he would leave you and Techno alone for a bit. Of course you weren't fully alone. Athena and Nathan stuck about. With the two sat together on the couch, Athena ended up falling asleep on Nathans shoulder.
Well you and Techno talked in the other room at the table, the last person you expected to see was Nathan. He quietly walked in and waited for you two to finish talking before he began. "I... I uhm, have something to ask you s-sir" Nathan began uncertain. You gave him a kind smile and motioned for him to sit.
When he sat he looked between you two. Mostly looking for reassurance from you so he could address Techno. Techno didn't push, he just calmly waited for the boy to speak. "A..Athena really cares about your opinion... And.. I... I know I want to do this right..." he was stumbling over his words. You could tell he was nervous. Quietly you just told him to take a deep breath. He nodded and did so. Waiting a moment before continuing. "W...with your permission as her Father... Could I please date your daughter?... S-she means the world to me... all I want is her happy..." Nathan was shying away from Techno. Almost expecting him to yell or something.
Techno watched a bit and thought on his words. Truthfully Techno was proud of this boy. Everyone was terrified to date his daughter, yet a shy Ender boy had purposefully stepped aside to ask him for permission. "I suppose I'll let you..." Techno said slowly. Nathaniel's shoulders visibly relaxed at Techno's words. Of course techno narrowed his eyes after, becoming serious "just know I was your age. If she ends up pregnant anytime soon, I'm coming for you" Techno meant it. Nathaniel went red and swallowed thickly before slowly nodding.
"Y-yes sir...."

I Carry It In My Heart
Word count: 4.7k
I thank everyone who read part one, it meant so much to me to see the love it got. Heres part two, please comment, like reblog, whatever I just wanna hear your thoughts! I also plan on making smaller blurbs of this universe with fratrry. I have plans for a graduation, wedding, babies, and other random blurbs of their lives. Much love, R.
Part One
Y/N’s drive home was quiet. She drove the whole six hours just listening to her thoughts. Thinking about the future of a relationship she had so much hope for. She wanted this relationship so much and seeing Harry before leaving campus reassured her that maybe just maybe, Harry wanted what she wanted too.
Six hours went by and Y/N finally arrived home. She lived on a very secluded farm with her mom, dad, grandparents, uncles/aunts, and cousins. Everyone lived along the property making the family tight knit. She was scared to reveal to her family that she wasn't with Harry anymore. He grew to be a very important part of the family. Everyone saw how beautiful Harry and Y/N’s relationship was. They could see how close they were and how they just shared a really unique connection with each other.
Getting out of her car, Y/N took a moment to stretch her legs before she was bombarded by her family. Hands were pulling her into hugs, kisses were being planted on her cheek- she never felt more loved in her life. She didn't realize she was crying until her mom held her face between her hands wiping the free flowing tears from the young girl's face. The family left the mother and daughter alone to reconnect.
“What is wrong with my baby?” Her mother cradled her face as she sobs.
“Mommy, we broke up. Me and Harry broke up and- and i'm exhausted from exams, and i'm so hungry!” Y/N’s hysterics caused her mom to chuckle. She helped grab Y/N’s belongings from the trunk and then led the girl into the house. As Y/N wiped the tears from her face she hiccuped trying to catch her breath.
With her bags in her room, Y/N sat at the kitchen table as her mom placed a bowl of chilli in front of her. Her mom sat beside her rubbing her back encouraging her to eat and regain some energy.
“Tell me what happened hon?”
“We got in a really bad fight after he kissed another girl. He basically said that I was overreacting. I tried to tell him that my reaction was merely based on how I feel about our future relationship. He laughed at me and said he wasn't thinking about the future of our relationship. Tha-” She choked up again “-that this wasn't a future he wanted.” Y/N sniffled into her food as her mom guided food into her mouth.
“It's ok hon. Let me tell you something, you and Harry will be fine. It may seem like this is the end but it's not. You will get through this because you guys were made for each other. From the way that you guys know each other's thoughts to the way that you both can read each other with no problem- you two were meant to be. Me and your pa went through our own issues but look at us now. We are solid. Baby, you two will be solid.” Y/N’s mom smoothed the hair on her daughter's head smiling at the young girl.
Y/N thought about her mothers words. Hearing her mom say those things about her relationship made her feel a little better. Her mother kissed her on the forehead and told her to get to bed and get some rest.
Y/N walked into her room and immediately her eyes were drawn to the gift Harry got her. She didn't remember bringing it in her room but there it sat in all of its glory. The gold wrapping paper on the box contrasted with the dark wood of her dresser. The envelope adorned with Harry's name written in cursive.
She was tempted to open the gift but at the same time she couldn't bring herself to even touch the gift. She kept thinking about the moment she shared with Harry in the parking lot. How he made time to see her before she left. How he found time to get her a gift and bring it to her. She grabbed the gift, shoving it into the top drawer of the dresser.
As Y/N lied in her bed that night, wrapped in a blanket Harry bought her, she couldn't run her mind off. She wanted to be with Harry but she was scared of his lack of commitment. She doesn't understand his sudden lack of commitment. She mentioned marrying him in the future and he freaked out on her. It hurt to know that in a quick second, he could change his mind.
Closing her eyes she went to sleep thinking about her brown haired, green eyed boy whose heart she carries with her at all times.
Y/N felt better to be back home on the farm. This semester had mentally drained her to the point where she felt like she had nothing within herself to give. She sat in the barn behind the house watching the chickens run around as she remembered the first time Harry visited the farm.
“No Harry, you just grab them from underneath. Like cup your hands and grab!” Y/N hollered to her boyfriend as he chased chickens around trying to grab them. He couldnt get his hands on a chicken but hearing his girlfriend laughing made it all worth it. Here he was dressed in overalls while chasing chickens.
“Bubs, I cant get one.” He pouted walking back over to Y/N.
“You don't have the talent I have.” She walked over to a resting chicken and grabbed it with ease. Tucking the chicken under her arm, she scratched the top of the chicken's head and walked over to where Harry was standing in shock.
“You are something else!” She set the chicken down, watching it run away. Harry grabbed her arm, twirling her around to face him. She placed her arms atop his shoulders, fingers playing with the small curls of his head. His arms wrapped around her waist squeezing her close to him.
It was a beautiful morning on the farm. Fall break on full blast and instead of Harry going back home, he just decided to come see where his girlfriend lives. They were sophomores now, entering almost a year of dating. This had been one the best almost years of their lives.
Harry placed a gentle kiss on her plush lips. She smiled, kissing him back.
“I love you Harry.” She said, staring at his eyes. His eyes opened wide. He stepped back from her and then started jumping up and down out of happiness. He threw her over his shoulder and started running through the blades of grass like the chickens he was trying to catch earlier. Setting her down on her feet she giggled at his antics.
“I cant believe you just said that. Im so fucking in love with you. So in love.” He said squishing her cheeks together, puckering her lips and smacking a wet kiss on her mouth.
“Ew Harry gross.” she giggled as he continued to place wet slobbery kisses over her face.
Y/N was so happy to bring Harry home. She wanted to show her family this new boy that had completely captivated her heart. He fit in with her family perfectly, making jokes, helping with dinner, playing with the little ones. He was family.
Walking into the house, she was greeted with the familiar smell of her grandma's famous peach crumble. She went into the kitchen sitting at one the stools watching her grandmother whip around the kitchen baking a slew of desserts.
“Hey lovebug, you go out and see your chickies?” Her grandmother asked, never losing focus of what she was doing.
“I did, they are all growing up so quick.” Y/N laid her head down on the table staring out of the window. Head fuzzy with anxiety and muddled thoughts.
“What happened to Harry?” Y/N’s head popped off of the table as she looked at her grandmother in confusion.
“How did you know something was up?”
“You're my grandbaby, I know everything about you. You've also been moping around my house so I knew something had happened.” She took a bowl down from the cabinets scooping a hot piece of peach crumble in the bowl and placed it in front of Y/N.
“Yeah, me and Harry split up. We just had a bad fight that put us in a weird place. He cheated on me.” She scooped crumble into her mouth trying to distract herself from her sadness.
“Oh love bug. I'm really sorry about that. Did you guys talk at all?” Placing a pie in the oven, her grandmother took a seat next to Y/N stealing a bite of crumble.
“He actually said goodbye to me before I came home. He gave me a Christmas gift too. I don't know, we didn't really say much. I miss him though. He was drunk when he cheated on me, which isn't an excuse but I think he was taken advantage of. I'm not mad about him cheating on me. I was mad at how he reacted to me. Like I was in the wrong for thinking about our relationship in the long run.”
“I understand. Can I be honest with you?” Crumble gone now, Y/N turned her body to face her grandmother. She shook her head to say yes. “You and Harry will be ok. It feels like the end right now but it isn't. It really isn't. I watched you two all of that one break and I saw a resilient couple who were going to go so far. This bump in the road can be fixed. Baby that boy looks at you like you are the whole universe.” You blushed at her words.
“What do I do then?”
“Well, I think you guys should enjoy this break. Take the time to reflect on what your relationship was and what it could be. Harrys going to go home and be surrounded by family as you are now, just let yourself enjoy that time. When he comes back for school, meet up again and talk. You both are adults- you know what to do.” You took in your grandmother's words. She always knew what to say.
“Why is it that you and mom always give me advice over food?” You laughed as she winked at you kissing you on the cheek.
“Food always makes people listen.”
When Wednesday finally arrived, Harry couldn't have been happier to go home. He had been on campus all alone and just feeling like shit. Maybe it was karma for how he treated Y/N. His heart felt hollow and even though he saw her before she left campus, he knew they still weren't ok. He wanted nothing more than to just be ok with his girl. The girl who makes him feel happiest on his darkest days. He doesn't understand how he would have ruined something so perfect.
At his gate at the airport, Harry sat staring at his phone waiting for something. He didn't know what he was waiting for. He didn't deserve anything, especially because of how bad he messed up. He didn't plan on seeing Y/N last friday before she left but he didn't want to go home without seeing her face. He also spent all night writing her a letter that laid down his thoughts. He also wanted to give her a gift. He bought it at the beginning of the semester back home. He knew it was perfect for her the second he saw it.
“Welcome to British Airways, we are now boarding all priority passengers.”
Harry stood up collecting his carry on and started walking to the line forming in front of the gate. He checked his phone again. Nothing.
As the line moved forward. He checked again. Nothing.
He scanned his ticket. Checked again. Nothing.
Situating himself in his seat on the airplane, Harry didn't even bother checking his phone knowing nothing was there. He clicked his seatbelt over his lap and opened the window beside him to look outside.
His phone buzzing pulled him out of his thoughts. His breath hitched, heart lurching. Pulling his phone out of his pocket he turned the screen on.
To: Harry, from: Bubs<3
Have a safe flight Harry
Harry's eyes welled with tears.
To: Bubs<3, from: Harry
Thank you, love. It means a lot.
To: Harry, from: Bubs<3
I miss you Harry
A few of those tears tipped over the edge now rolling down his face.
To: Bubs<3, from: Harry
I miss you so much baby
And that was it. But that was all Harry needed to feel something again.
Y/N didn't know what compelled her to text Harry. She knows her grandmother told her to take some time but she just wanted to reach out to him. She wanted him to know that she was still here. She was still thinking of him and still wanted this. Whatever ‘this’ was.
Christmas eve came quickly, Y/N’s house filled with family members, food, and little children running around wreaking havoc. Y/N was sitting in her room staring at the drawer where the gift from Harry hid. She was scared to open it. Pushing that fear to the side, she walked over the drawer opening it and grabbing the box and envelope. She put the gift in her purse before grabbing her keys. She couldn't open the gift here. She needed to go somewhere quiet.
She said a quick goodbye to her parents and left the house in a hurry. She found herself parked at a small store's parking lot a few miles away from her house. She kept the car on for the heat but turned off the christmas tunes she had playing low in the background.
She opened her purse to pull the envelope out. Carefully ripping the top of the envelope she pulled out a stack of items. In the envelope were four photos and a handwritten letter. She saved the letter for last.
The first photo was of Harry and Y/N sitting on a bean bag in the library. Harry had the camera outstretched above their heads, Y/N with her face buried in a text book. This was taken in their first year during their first exam week. They were not exclusive yet but their friends knew how close they were- there was no one coming between the two of them. Y/N had been so stressed that week so Harry invited her to the library to eat lunch and study together. He helped her through some science homework which helped dramatically on her exam.
The second image was of Harry and Y/N at their favorite restaurant off campus. It was taken during their sophomore year during their one year anniversary. It was the week before spring break and they had just finished a round of midterms. Harry surprised her with a trip to her favorite restaurant. The waiter offered to take the picture because of how adorable the couple looked. In the picture they were holding hands, smiling wide to the camera. Y/N eyes welled up at how happy they looked together.
The third pic was taken during an event on campus at the end of their freshman year. It was a piece and love festival where different clubs hosted fun activities in hopes of promoting unity on campus. In the picture, Harry and Y/N were holding up braided string bracelets with beads that said their partners name. They always wore those bracelets after that day. Y/N looked down at the slightly faded bracelet on her wrist. Harrys name on her wrist reminding her that he is always with her no matter what. Cheesy as it may be but the cheap string with plastic was something she would never part with.
The last picture was taken on Y/N’s farm. It was by the barn where Harry and Y/N were chasing chickens. It was taken from a high angle from afar. Harry had her on his shoulder and they were both visibly laughing. They had matching overalls with embroidery done by Y/N's aunt. On the back of the picture, Y/N could recognize Harry's handwriting as it said, “Your Grandma emailed me this picture when we got back to campus. She said that she couldn't help but take the picture when she saw how happy you looked.” Y/N laughed at his sloppy handwriting and her grandmother's words.
The last piece of the envelope was the letter. Y/N slowly unraveled the folded paper, smoothing out the crinkles. Taking a deep breath she began reading.
Y/N,
In my eyes, our future is filled with love. I see us buying a small house in your home town because I know you love home. I know you also said you may want to live in a city so if our plans were to change, I could see us living in a small apartment, decorated by you of course, with bookshelves that towered to the ceiling and many plush blankets littering the rooms. I see us working hard during the day and enjoying each other during the evening when we come home. I see bubble baths and fun new dinner recipes. I see me bringing you flowers to brighten your day from a long day of work. I see us travelling to all of the places you have pinned on your “for the future” pinterest board. I see us having a small wedding, my family, your family, some friends and that's it. I'd let you do whatever you like for the wedding because I want to see you happy.
I see little ones. Direct copies of you and me running around in the backyard as we try chasing them and tickling them. I see bedtime stories and fun days at the park. Picnics in the meadow and swimming in the lake. Catching chickens and rough housing with the goats. Pasta sauce around the mouth after a good meal. Frozen yogurt with all of the toppings. I see everything with you. There's not a moment where I don't see us together. I think about our graduation and where we will be after graduation.
I see a future with you and I was an ass to say otherwise. You are everything to me. I should be doing more for our relationship like I used to. I want to take you out on more dates and shower you in gifts because you deserve it. I love you so much. Please don't give up on me and all of the memories we've created. I want it all with you.
School has been hurting me pretty bad and I took it out on you. I cheated on you because I was too drunk to think properly. I hurt the only person whose opinion I hold higher than anyone else's. We built a beautiful relationship of trust and boundaries and I ruined it for no reason. I want to do better. Please let me show you that I can do better.
I found this poem that reminded me of you. I know you like poems and this poem speaks for me wholly.
i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart) i am never without it (anywhere
i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling)
i fear
no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) i want
no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)
Have a lovely break and I hope to be able to see you after.
Love Harry.
His letter left the girl speechless. He said everything she wanted to hear. Looking at her phone she checked the time.
7:36 pm
Its about 12 am in london.
Without a second thought she opened Harry's facetime profile and pressed the call button.
Ring. Ring. Ri-
“Love? Are you alright? Did something happen?” Harry was quick to answer, looking half awake and flustered. Y/N broke down in tears immediately. “Y/N are you ok, baby?”
“Harry.” She wailed. It was embarrassing but all of the pent emotion she was holding in finally breached. She couldn't stop crying. Harry sat up from his laying down position in bed holding the phone closer to his face to inspect his girl.
“It's ok bubs, whatever it is, it's ok. I promise it's ok.” Harry tries consoling the girl. Her tears reduced to small sniffles.
“I read your letter Harry. It's beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. I want it all with you too. I've always wanted it with you. Since the day we met Harry.” He let out a watery laugh so overwhelmed with emotions. She wiped her face of tears looking back at the letter next to her.
“Y/N I love you so much. I do. I know I'm not that good at expressing my emotions but I do want a future with you. I'm hurting knowing I hurt the best thing that's ever happened to me.” His tears continued to flow freely.
“It's ok Harry. I'm not mad anymore. I'm not hurt either I promise. I think I was more upset that we were done. I don't want us to be done. I really don't.”
“I don't want us to be done either. I really want to marry you. Maybe not right now but in time I wanna get married.” He paused, wiping his face. “I wanna get married on your farm, maybe put the chickies in little tuxedos.” She giggled at his proposition.
“They would hate you even more if you did that.” They shared a laugh and then some silence. “I guess it's technically Christmas over there huh? Well Merry Christmas H.”
“It is christmas isn't it? Merry Christmas bubs. Did you open the box?” She grabbed the box next to her to show Harry shaking her head. She unwrapped the paper and revealed a box with a logo she wasn't familiar with.
“What's this?” He encouraged her to keep opening the gift. Lifting the top of the box she let out a loud gasp upon seeing a beautiful gold bracelet sitting on a satin pillow. She placed her phone on the phone stand on her dashboard so she could have both hands to look at the bracelet. The bracelet was gold and thin with a nameplate in the middle. Engraved on the nameplate was Harry's name.
“You went silent on me...Do you like it?” Y/N couldn't stop looking at the bracelet in her hand.
“Harry...It's gorgeous. It's so gorgeous.” She whispered. She slid the perfectly fit bracelet on her hand watching it fall in front of her handmade bracelet. The two bracelets adorned her wrist perfectly. “I love you so much H.”
“I love you too, I do. I can't wait to see you in person and talk.” He replies with his heart clenching in a good way, watching his girl smile happily at her gift.
“Om bubby, I'll let you go to sleep. I love you, spend time with your family and then come back to me as the same Harry I fell in love with.” He smiled, whispering goodnight and hanging up.
Going home that night, Y/N’s family watched her come back into the house walking lighter on her feet and looking happier than she did when she came home from school. She showed her bracelet off to her parents as her grandmother made her a plate of food. She smiled at everyone and talked the whole night. Her grandmother watched from afar feeling her heart fill with joy at her granddaughter's happiness.
As Christmas break went on Harry and Y/N continued to keep their relationship moving slowly. Only calling each other once a day and giving each the much needed space to heal with their respective family. Y/N facetimed him on christmas giving him a youtuber esq. Haul of all of her gifts while he laughed at her silliness. He did the same thing with half the enthusiasm.
As move in day approached, Y/N felt herself becoming worried about her relationship. She worried that when she saw Harry, their relationship would slowly deteriorate. Little did she know that she had no reason to be so afraid. Harry was on his flight back to school ready to hug and hold his girl. He was ready to reunite and be the couple they used to be. He was ready to be a better partner for his girl.
“Alright girly, looks like we got everything squished in your car. Are you sure you've got everything?” Y/N’s mom asked sarcastically. Y/N huffed shoving another bag in the passenger seat.
“Yup that should be it.”
“Ok, well you give me a hug and get going.” Y/N rushed into her mom's arms. Her mom kissed her on the forehead and left Y/N and her grandmother to talk on their own.
“Bye grandma, i'm going to miss you.” Her grandmother held her arms tight.
“You get back to campus and see that boy ok? You go and be in love. You too are old enough to know what you want and this relationship is something you obviously both want.”
Kissing her grandma goodbye, she got in her car and started her drive back to school.
It only took Y/N one trip from her car to her dorm to unload all of her belongings. She was able to snag one of the big trolleys to push her things inside. She watched as friends reunited, she even said hi to a few of her friends but her mind was set on one person. She grabbed her wallet and phone from her dorm and left quickly on a journey to get to Harry’s frat.
The air was cool but Y/N felt warm from how quickly she was booking it to Harry. Harry, just like Y/N, immediately left his room to see Y/N. Having not seen her in a month and some of exam week- he couldn't wait to see her. Harry saw Y/N’s familiar face walking down the sidewalk of his frat and he stopped in his tracks. She smiled her bright, beautiful smile before running over to where he stood. Her arms hooked around his neck as his arms adjusted around her waist. He stumbled a bit from the force of her hug but stood his ground nonetheless.
She held him tight, legs bound around his waist, a few stray tears falling from her eyes. He held her just as tightly, hands tightly holding her thighs and back.
“Hi bubby.” She said in his ear, face burrowed in his neck. He set her down and reached for her face.
‘Hi baby.” She blushed at his nickname. They looked into each other's eyes and time froze like it always did between them. Y/N broke theri moment by pulling his face to hers. They kissed like they hadnt kissed in years. To them the time they spent away from each other felt like years. Their lips fit together like puzzle pieces. Pulling apart, Harry stared down at his heart, tears begging to be free. He opened his mouth to say something and she stopped him.
“It's ok Harry. My baby, it's ok. We are ok.”
i fear
no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) i want
no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)

“How am I going to do this, Bucky?” You ask with tears rolling down your cheeks. You were scared, more like terrified. After a one night stand with a guy you’d met months ago, you began feeling horrible. It had been Bucky, your best friend, that suggested you might be pregnant.
However, you knew the two of you used condoms, but like Bucky said, they sometimes break. He drove you to the store and bought the pregnancy tests and then he drove you home and waited by your side until you saw the results.
“Doll, you’re going to do fine.. you’re going to be fine.” you hated Bucky sometimes for his calm voice and ability to stay calm in dire situations. His hands cupped your cheeks, “You’re going to be a great mom.”
“What if I’m not? What if motherhood isn’t cut out for me?” You ask, starting to freak out once more.
Bucky leaned forward and pressed a soft kiss to your forehead, before locking eyes with you, “You listen to me. You are going to be a great mother. You’re going to be the best you can be and you’re going to rock it. That’s your anxiety talking and it’s not a very reliable source. But me? Your best friend, I’m a reliable source.” He cracks a smile and it makes you laugh, “You’re going to do amazing.”
“I don’t want to do this alone.”
“I’m going to be there, every step of the way.” He wipes a tear and finally lets go of your cheeks. He didn’t lie, he was there every step of the way.
He was there for the ultrasounds, the late night cravings, he was there for the morning sickness and the ups and downs of your hormones. He was there when you would decorate the nursery. He and Sam were the ones to put together the furniture, which ended in some arguments between Sam and Bucky on where the pieces went.
He and Sam painted the nursery since you didn’t need to be around the toxic fumes. He was there for the false labor, rushing you to the hospital but only to be told it was braxton hicks and you could go back home. He was there for the real labor, staying by your side, rubbing your back, feeding you ice chips and keeping a wet cloth on your forehead. He even stayed during the actual birth, even if he thought he was going to pass out. He made you a promise and he wasn’t going to break it.
Hours later Bucky fell asleep on the couch in the delivery room when a nurse came in to check on you and the baby. She couldn’t help but gush at Bucky.
“Your husband did great during this..” The nurse gushes to you with a smile, “Lots of men we see check out and don’t do near as much as he did. You got yourself a lucky one.”
You didn’t correct her, but gazed at Bucky’s sleeping figure, “Yeah, I do.”
The moment you’d seen Bucky hold your new baby girl, it was the moment everything clicked with you. That was the moment you fell in love with him.
The doctor placed that small baby onto your bare chest as she wailed. Multiple hands were wiping her off and clearing her throat. Bucky was grinning from ear to ear and had kissed your head, gushing to you, “you did amazing doll. You did so well.”
The nurse took the baby for a moment and wrapped her in a blanket, before coming back to you and Bucky. “Would you like to hold her?” She directed her question to Bucky who looked down at you for approval.
You gave a soft nod and watched as the nurse placed her in his arms, telling him how to hold her. “make sure you support her head..”
He looked terrified, like she would break in his arms. He didn’t hide the fact his eyes burned with tears, “Hi there..”
And in that moment, you knew you loved him.
~
Soon after you found out you were pregnant, you and Bucky decided Brooklyn wasn’t the plan anymore and moved out to Delacroix to be with Sam and his family. They were all the two of you had left and you wanted to be with them, especially Sarah since she had already raised two boys on her own. You needed someone like that in your life and this move would provide that.
A few days later, you were released from the hospital and you sat in the back of the car with your little girl, who you chose to name Ava, and Bucky drove home. However, his grip on the wheel was so tight you could see the knuckles of his flesh hand turning white. He was terrified of something happening and drove under the speed limit.
“Bucky... you’re driving like an old man.” You tease.
“We have precious cargo.” He says, looking at you in the rearview mirror, “Plus I am an old man.”
When you two arrived to your shared home, Sarah, her boys and Sam were there waiting. They’d put up a sign in the yard and were waiting on the porch for y’all.
Bucky carried the car seat in, you following close behind and Sarah gushed immediately at the sight of the tiny baby in the carseat.
After the two of you made your way inside and got comfortable on the couch, Bucky stood in the doorway and Sam approached him with a beer.
“Thanks.” Bucky says, taking it and taking a swig. Bucky gazes lovingly at you where you’re seated next to Sarah on the couch. He watched as you fixed Ava’s hat while she laid in Sarah’s arms. He couldn’t believe you’d done it, given birth to something so perfect and looking so gorgeous during it all.
Sam takes notice of the love in Bucky’s eyes, “Congratulations, man. She’s beautiful.”
“She’s not mine.” He says, taking another drink of his beer.
“Which one?” Sam asks, patting his friend’s shoulder. He knew Bucky loved you, there was no denying that. Bucky confessed he was falling in love with you about 6 months into your pregnancy. He was getting a sneak peak into what a normal life could be for him and to see that life with you? He wanted it.
You knew that he had to be in love with you, no man would stand by your side during all of this if he didn’t. You were scared though, scared if you acted upon those feelings, would your friendship change? Would it become awkward? What if it didn’t work out and you were left losing not only your lover, but best friend.
You couldn’t imagine a life without Bucky by your side and you didn’t want to risk it.

Request from Anon: the Beautiful Mess imagine and the Divorce headcanon got me thinking, what about an imagine where the daughter that reader and Klaus had in these stories finds out about her dad having been unfaithful?? imagine the DRAMA
Okay, so Part Three; there’s a bit of a time skip in this final part. Hope this is okay for you lovely, and enjoy x
Need to catch up? Find Parts One and Two just below:
Divorce, Part One
Divorce, Part Two
Tumblr media
It’s been sixteen years since you walked into that lawyer’s office with Klaus and handed over the divorce papers. Contrary to the opinion of that little voice in the back of your head, you haven’t married him again. Instead, you’ve come to an arrangement, and as you raise your daughter together, you’ve realised that you actually enjoy each other’s company as friends.
But there’s still that piece of your heart that tries to tug you towards Klaus, that threatens to break every time you reflect on what could have been had he not betrayed your trust.
Over the years, your daughter has asked why her mother and father aren’t together, knowing that once upon a time, you were so in love. You and Klaus both tell her the same thing. “Sometimes, sweetheart, things can change.”
You haven’t told her the whole truth, not wanting to hate her younger sister Hope – they’re ridiculously close – or her father whom she dotes on.
But that’s all about to change.
You hear the shouting the minute you walk into the compound. It’s coming from your daughter’s room; it’s her raised voice that sets you on edge. She’s sixteen years old, she’s bound to freak out from time to time, but it’s the words that come out of her mouth that make you nauseous.
“You cheated on Mom? How could you?”
You don’t even think about how she could possibly have found out as your legs carry you up the stairs and into her room. There’s a chair on its side, books on the floor and your daughter looks like she’s about to explode. Then your eyes fall on Klaus, sat on the bed, head hanging in shame.
It’s been sixteen years but you still want to run and pull him into a hug. He looks up at you and you see the tears in his eyes. “I’m sorry.” His voice is raw, and it’s then that you understand how much this must be killing him. His daughter is looking at him like he’s a monster, and you can only imagine the hurt.
“And you” – she turns on you – “You lied to me.”
“Sweetheart – ”
“Don’t,” your daughter raises her voice making you wince, “Just don’t. I’m supposed to trust you, your my mom, and yet, you lied to me about all of it. You’re just as bad as him.” She points at her father, and you can’t help but jump to his defence. It’s almost an instinct, one you thought you had buried a long time ago.
“Don’t talk about your father like that.” You look over at Klaus, who’s still unusually silent. He looks back at you with hope in his eyes, and you can’t help the next words that come out of your mouth. “He made a mistake, yes, but without that mistake, we wouldn’t have Hope” – you love that girl like she’s your own – “and I’ve forgiven him for it.” You take one last look at Klaus, sighing as you realise what you’ve just confessed.
You look back at your daughter, her expression softening as she senses the connection that still remains between her parents. “You should too. Now, go and find your sister. Take a walk.” You let go of the breath you’ve been holding as your daughter does as she’s told, leaving the room.
Leaving you and Klaus alone.
There’s silence for a moment before Klaus speaks. “Is that true?”
“Yeah, yeah it is.” You turn to leave, but Klaus grabs your arm and you stop, looking at him. You don’t move as his hand moves down your arm into your own hand, don’t resist as he intertwines his fingers with yours, don’t complain when his lips brush your knuckles.
And that’s when you know.
You know that even though it’s been sixteen years, even though you’ve both been with other people since your divorce, you and Klaus never stopped loving each other for a single second. You never will.
And maybe you’re the world’s biggest idiot, but when Klaus Mikaelson, your ex-husband, the father of your child, asks you to meet him for dinner at seven o’clock tonight in that dress he bought you for your birthday the first year you started dating, you can’t help but breathe out a single word.
“Yes.”

Hey! A new wlw short story is up on my Patreon. Check it out! And please consider becoming a Patron for more wlw writing and more. As a struggling artist anything helps.
Here’s a free preview:
Headlights Girl
Most humans carry the night with them. Even during daylight hours, they can shut out the sun, turn off the light, recede into themselves and into that soft secret place behind their eyes.
Did you know certain animals don’t have eyelids? Gecko’s have nothing between them and the violent sun which wishes to cook the colors of their world. They have to use their tongue. Dust and sand and rain, can you imagine? I was obsessed with lizards as a kid.
I stacked up books on snakes and lizards and skinks. I traced the way that sand snakes crested across the land, sideways and wrong. I put glue on the pads of my hand and tried to climb the walls of my room— I didn’t even get one handhold up. I went to the zoo and peered into their cages, up on my tiptoes, trying not to smudge the glass or breath too hard. I tried make out their triangle heads and slow tongue-flicks, but they shrank away from my gaze deep into their cages into the nooks and crannies. Most things do.
Most humans carry the night with them, right there behind their eyelids is an entire world of darkness and sleep. I have something else inside me, not quite, not soft, not secret. They called me “headlights girl” in the newspapers.
There have been stranger kids born in the age of spirits. I checked. Every morning of fifth grade, I scanned the papers for small articles and mentions of “oddities” growing into anomalies.
A boy with fire on his breath. A girl with leaves sprouting from her head. A kid with antennae that could taste the wind. There are stranger things than me in the age of beasts and magic. My father calls it the “Epoch of Bastards,” sons and daughters of flickering fire elementals and wind ghosts who seduced half-asleep ladies from their beds.
He doesn’t look at me much. And I know what he means. I know what he means when he calls it the Epoch of Bastards. Growing up, I played in my little puddle of carpet on the floor as he blustered in and out of rooms like gale force winds. He’d be looking for his keys or left shoe or wallet since he was going out, out, out. I think I missed him at first, in the way you miss strangers you’ve never met.
Later, still on my puddle of carpet, still on my island, I would glare at him with that sour, acid taste in the back of my throat. Acrid, smoky, I would barely blink as he passed; he’d jump when he turned too quickly and accidentally fell into my path. Later still, I would begin to wish they were both like that—blustery and calling people names.
It sometimes felt better than hearing my mom weep to herself on the couch. I wish she’d do it in her room or outside or anywhere else than that theatrical sobbing in the middle of the house, a naked heartbeat to the place. She spoke to her friends on the phone in that same watery voice, handkerchief in hand and sniffling, she spoke to them more than me.
What else am I supposed to do? This isn’t how it was supposed to be. They could barely afford to send me to That School. I didn’t want to be there either.
We weren’t the same, not really. None of us are the same age and most everyone else stayed in dorms where they bonded with secrets and whispers and hiding from matrons under flat mattresses. It wasn’t the same.
They called me The Lighthouse and Car Face and Nightlight. Sometimes they’d give me a few bucks to close my eyes so they could see my face. I did it. They’d laugh and reassure me I was as ugly as you’d think. Or beautiful. Or perfectly average-looking or have a pig-nose or blackhole for a nose. I’d never seen anything but the blinding light of my own eyes in the mirror so I could never contradict them.
A boy with antlers handed me a twenty for a kiss in the 6th grade. I closed my eyes for that too. It was chapped and dry and he runs away with a screaming laugh afterward. There are stranger kids than me, I reminded myself. So why do I feel so much stranger than the rest of them?
I’m 16 when I heel-toe my way down the stairs toward the front door. A duffel bag slung over my shoulder stuffed with a collection of loose clothes, change, a bath towel, sewing kit, a bible written in a language I don’t speak, all the tampons in the house, and a Swiss-army knife.
I hoped to stuff as many cheddar-cheese sandwiches in my sack as possible before the midnight bus came, but he’s at the kitchen table. I don’t think either of us expected it, like running into your teacher at Target and you’re both buying the same brand of toilet cleaner. There’s a beer in front of his idle hands and he glances at the bag on my shoulder.
He sighs like I cut him off in traffic.
“Gimme a moment.”
My father leafs through a wad of cash he kept in a safe in the garage. He hands me almost three hundred bucks and we nod at each other. I’m out the door before the midnight bus arrives.
I watch the headlights of the bus approach through dense summer night and think it must be like looking at like, the glow of my eyes against its eyes. Can a bus be your father? Can your father be a man after all this time? Will your mother come looking for you?
I get on the bus and kick my feet up against the seat in front of me. Scrunched into a ball, I cross my arms over my chest, and watch the trees turn into flickering bodies of shadow with each passing mile. ------------- My feet move like tides. They toss me against nameless city streets and toward empty forested slices of land. I taste the painted deserts toward the west. I dip my toes into the largest cities with lights brighter than my own. I graze my palms on neon signs and hunch my shoulders against brick walls of back alleys.
No one touches me. They don’t come close enough when I open my eyes and they see nothing but heaven or devils or an absent lightning-God father that will smite them.
I find my way to the ocean; beaches where other stragglers gather. I don’t talk much, I don’t like to, and people stare at me whether I’m speaking or screaming and clamping down on my jaw so hard it aches. Sometimes I get yelled at: Turn that off! No phone lights in here. You’re blinding me, bitch!
I’ve never seen a movie in any theatres, but I can imagine what it’s like.
I like the ocean cities best with their pale buildings built into cliffs, narrow winding white paths, and crushed seashell parking lots. I like the tang of salt in the air and the way my hair crinkles from the ocean water as it sun-dries. I camp out on beaches and bum cigarettes and hotdogs off strangers. I’m good at taking care of myself once I get in a rhythm.
Sometimes, or often, I dream of sinking to the bottom of the ocean. I dream of descending on pointed ballerina-feet to the silted black bottom. I am weighted down through the cold to where no human has ever been before. I open my eyes there, I open them all the way, lightning-bright, and in my dreams, the salt doesn’t sting. It doesn’t hurt, instead, I light up the world, the whole untouched world of whales and fish and terror and maybe I do something good then. Maybe I do something good and bring the sun to places that have forgotten it.
I meet Mags on the beach. She’s got one eye and five teeth and carries around string and scissors everywhere. She smells like seawater and roasting kelp, dank and crusted over. Her clothes are neat despite her leather-cracked skin and her arms and neck are covered with tattoos of shipwrecks. She cackles and pulls me aside the first night we meet.
“What’s your name?” Her voice is old creaking wood. I am quiet. “I could give you one.” She offers with a grin that is more empty space than anything.
I shake my head. “Nana.”
“What do you like, kid?”
I shake my head again.
Mags likes me more than I deserve. I pocket her last pair of socks when she’s not looking. She never mentions it and drags me down to the community showers to get clean with soap and shampoo. She takes me to the soup restaurant for something that isn’t burnt or freeze-dried or from a convenience store. She cackles, she spits when she talks, people glare at her as well.
I think she’s normal, not touched by the spirits, but she likes me more than most people and I don’t know why.
“You like art, kid?”
I snort. “No.”
“Why not? You broken?” Yeah. Probably.
“How am I supposed to know?” I snap.
“Lippy-wild thing. Come on, I’ll show you something worth your forked tongue.”
She heats the needle before she uses it, red hot and untouchable. She dips it into deep black inks, only black and sometimes red, she calls them the only colors that matter. She shows me how to prick the skin with color and movement. She shows me on her right foot first, all over those fine little bones that must hurt, in and out, a little bloody.
It takes her six hours to make a little shipwreck right above her big toe. It’s a schooner going under and I’m the only witness to the way she makes the waves come to life and crash against its sides. I can’t look away and I forget to blink. She didn’t seem to mind.
She washes another needle. She heats it red-hot. She dips it in ink and hands it to me.
I practice all over my thighs first, there’s enough meat there and it’s easy enough to reach: a lizard design that looks like nothing but squiggles, a wobbly stick figure on a skateboard, a tiny smudged skink with its tongue out. I practice designs in the sand. Mags takes me to the museum on Sundays. They’re free on Sundays.
Something stirs in my chest, even as the guards yell at me about how flash photography isn’t allowed in the museum. Even as I’m shooed out of exhibits for ruining the paint. Still, an ache so old it rots roars to life in my chest.
I stab in and out, gentle, a collection of stars right above my right knee. A winding sand snake next, and then finally, something good, something that gives people a reason to stare. I make it in the mirror: a ghost on my collarbone. Shadowed and intricate and simple, I put a ghost right above my collarbone and it bleeds more than the others.
I don’t want to leave the ocean city. Mags says she has to keep moving though. She gives me a sloppy kiss on the cheek.
“You're a gem, kid. You’ll knock ‘em all to the pavement.”
I swallow the lump in my throat. “You’ll be back?”
She cackles. “Wouldn’t miss it. You know me.” She winks as she turns to the bus, my second father. “You think I’ll miss your great becoming, kid? I’ll be back.”
I want to make her pinky-promise like I’m a kid again and begging one of the other kids to tell me if I’m actually beautiful when I close my eyes. I can’t do that; I wave as she totters up the steps of the bus and is taken away with the tides of her own feet. ------------ I get an apprenticeship. Technically, Mags talked to them first and I just followed up when I had nothing better to do.
I didn’t think I’d like it much, but coach surfing and camping out on beaches is a tiring pastime. Penguin Davies and Bitch-Annie run a tattoo shop together. Davies walks like he’s never encountered land before, and Bitch-Annie has a throw-pillow that says “If you don’t have anything nice to say then come sit next to me.”
Davies is nothing but birds and dizzying M. C. Escher house-designs up and down his chest and arms. Bitch-Annie has topless mermaids and pinup girls across her shoulders and legs. She’s been asked to leave a number of stores before the children start staring or thinking thoughts.
Neither of them had ever met someone like me, it’s not that type of town. I rankle at most their questions, a cat meeting a steel brush. I brush off anything more personal than my favorite type of soda. Bitch-Annie calls me “Shadow” and I think it’s a joke. Davies says I must be possessed by the ghost of a dead star and now I’m nothing but a blackhole: take everything in and let nothing out.
Neither of them lets me touch a needle in those first six months. They have me practice on pig skin and stand by their shoulder as they work. I feel like a dental assistant except I’m the hanging light above shining into open mouths instead of anything with a pulse. I stand at their shoulder as they draw thick lines and thin dots and make hearts and wolves and names of dead lovers come to life.
They ask me to stop blinking and stand still. I almost walk out and find a new cliff to crash against, almost. No one had ever expected me to show up to something before. No one cared if I went to school or when I got home. And no one kept any tabs on me after I took that first bus. That’s how I liked it.
I should’ve left, it didn’t mean anything to me, not really. But Bitch-Annie stomped up to my attic-apartment one morning and threw pants at me.
“Get up, Shadow.” She was sterner than Mags, no hint of humor in her eyes. “I told you 9am so I expect 9am.”
“The fuck!?” I am eloquent in the morning.
“Pants, shirt, shoes, and bra if you don’t want the desk idiot staring at something other than your eyes all day.”
I grumble. I put on everything but the bra. No one ever expected me to be anywhere before. I tell myself I’ll just try it out, no harm in having a bit of a savings anyway. No harm in seeing what the fuss was about.
I wasn’t an artist of course. I didn’t understand what everyone else was seeing when they looked at the “old masters” paintings of water or war or lovers pulled apart. I didn’t feel anything in front of stain-glass windows in churches or mosaics on walls. Maybe there really was something wrong with my eyes. I don’t let up though. I put on pants for this, after all.
Penguin Davies hovered by my shoulder now.
“Mm.” He rumbled deep in his chest. He’d gone grey at an early age, he had tired eyes and quick hands. The desk kid said he’d been in medical school once, a surgeon. Davies muttered a lot, stared off into space too much, and laughed like it was always a surprise
“Perfectionist,” he muttered at me now as I start over on a crappy unicorn design. “The line’s barely off. You’re being a perfectionist, Nana.”
I scowled over my shoulder and let the full weight of my light hit him across the face. “Got a problem with it?” He chuckled darkly. His grin is crooked like a broken door handle. I tried to hide my work from him with my shoulder. “It’s not done yet.
“Look at you go. You know who makes the best artists, Nana?” He was always a bit of a philosopher. Maybe he used to study that before medicine.
“Yeah, yeah, shut up. I’m working on it.”
He gave my shoulder a light push. “The ones that don’t quit.”
They let me touch a needle gun before the new year. I tell myself I’ll only sign my new apartment lease as an experiment. I don’t have to actually stay. I’ll just run from the ink on paper and hope no one chases after girls with eyes that glow.
I don’t break my lease. I draw cartoon heroes in speedos on tipsy college girls who swear they’re sober and erotic vampires on the chests of men getting their first divorce. I have to give two refunds for a duck that turns out lopsided and a tattoo of someone’s dog which I swore really was that ugly to begin with.
There was one at the end of that next year though, another college girl with nothing but doors ahead of her. She asked for a stick and poke, that was what I’m best at anyway, she asked for a butterfly. Butterflies were easy, I could do the little ones in my sleep. She wanted one all across her back, she said I could make it look however I wanted. So I did. Wings like fringed shawls and straight heavy lines combined with wispy swirling ones. It’s dark, black ink with red highlights and gray shadows under each wing to give it movement and flight.
I hide my smile when she goes to my bosses and points at it while jumping up and down. The best thing she’s ever seen. She should pay us double. Where did you get this girl? I try not to blink so they can’t see the wetness under my eyes.
Sometimes I still stand by the bus stop to check who’s coming off. I don’t expect to see Mags again so soon, but sometimes I want to show her: Hey, maybe your work wasn’t all wasted. Maybe I did start to become.

Pregnancy Series - Part 6
Tumblr media
Meeting the baby for the first time
⚠️ Sensitive content -> mention of: labor pain, blood, fluids ⚠️
Pregnancy Series: Part 1 // Part 2  // Part 3 // Part 4.1 // Part 4.2 // Part 5
Last chapter! So, I hope you all enjoy this one! Feel free to tell me in the comments or send me a message ( even as anon if you want ! ) Soon new requests will be posted again...it was a nice time with the series....I will miss it, you too?
BTW! The request was that the baby doesn’t look like them despite being their baby!
jumin
Your husband stroked your head after the hard time you had giving birth to your first son.
Well, the labor itself didn’t really last long but you still had a hard time.
You were sleepy and at some point you had the feeling that you couldn’t even breathe, almost giving Jumin a heart attack.
But when the both of you finally heard your baby cry for the first time, you all relaxed.
,,IT’S A BOY!’’ the midwife announced happily, making Jumin cry as he praised you, proud to be finally able to call himself a father.
The nurses and medics around you guys got everything ready and you were carried into another room so that the maid could tidy up the room. Your baby was also weighed and checked up on.
Jumin was really happy that you guys decided to give birth at home. Of course, this was only possible because everything was alright with you and the baby.
,,So, meet your mommy and daddy,’’ the midwife whispered as she approached you, softly giving you your baby boy.
,,Oh,’’ you gasped, surprised by the beauty of your boy.
But your eyes quickly met Jumin’s.
,,Was your mom blonde?’’ you asked him.
He looked over to you. He was smiling and not even a bit concerned that the baby wasn’t looking like him at all.
Maybe it was even better that the baby was totally different.
Jumin shook his head.
,,Don’t worry, I can already feel the bond between us. I trust you,’’ he whispered and kissed his baby on his head softly since he was still so soft.
,,Wanna hold him too?’’ you whispered and waited for his response.
Jumin nodded excitedly, wanting to hold his own little baby in his arms.
Finally his wish came true.
Jumin held him and cradled him, just like a real father.
,,Mr Han,’’ Jahee softly called him. ,,I informed your father as well as the RFA and will take my leave to prepare everything in the company,’’ she whispered.
,,Jaehee,’’ you called your friend.
,,It’s impossible that the aunty goes without seeing the baby! Step in!’’ you called her.
Nervously, Jaehee stepped in and looked at what Jumin held between his arms.
,,He looks so handsome…’’ she gasped.
You chuckled as you laid back. ,,It’s our son after all,’’ you yawned and slowly fell asleep…
Three years later, you once again were pregnant. Your son by now was almost turning three.
He was blonde and had blue eyes. Apparently your mother’s family was blonde.
And even though no one could believe at first that this was Jumin’s son, as soon as they saw how he acted, they all knew that this was indeed a Han. The bloodline was still in the heir of C&R.
,,Father, I believe that the maid made a mistake with organizing my toys. I think we need someone better!’’ he whined, pulling his father.
Jumin took his son seriously, but of course he knew that his son was still three. What didn’t hold him back from making everything possible was his might.
Zen
You heard how Zen nagged at someone, but before you could try to concentrate on what he was saying, another wave of pain hit you, making you scream in pain.
,,I‘m here, baby, I‘m here,“ Zen whispered, holding your hand.
You turned around to him and smiled with the last of the strength you had.
,,I wanted to have a barbecue,“ you whined, making him chuckle.
,,As soon as you give birth, I will send them to get you food,“ he promised.
,,I can’t wait to eat kimchi,“ you laughed, breathing the pain away.
Zen smiled apologetically. ,,You can’t eat spicy food while you’re breastfeeding,“ he told you.
,,AHHHH!“ you hissed. He wasn’t sure if you screamed in pain or because you were angry that you still couldn’t eat spicy food, but whatever it was, he was scared.
,,It’s open by four centimeters. Soon we will be there,’’ the midwife smiled.
Well, that soon changed into an hour, two, three, and finally four hours.
,,You’re doing so well,’’ your boyfriend told you. By now you had to wear an oxygen mask because you couldn’t breathe.
,,Maybe we should do a C-’’ before the nurse could even end her speech, you moved your head, pressing Zen’s hand stronger as you pushed.
,,Mc!’’ he called you, holding onto you stronger.
You pushed and pushed. You sometimes had the feeling that air was missing, but you kept pushing until finally a cry was heard, making you collapse onto the bed.
,,MC?!’’ Zen whined, but the nurse next to you calmed him down as she checked your vitals.
,,It was hard. She will sleep for a few minutes, don’t worry,’’ she smiled.
Zen nodded and looked over to his baby. She had a little dark hair and also her skin was a bit darker than his, but she was still the most beautiful baby he had ever seen.
,,Would you like to cut the cord?’’ the midwife asked, explaining to him how to do it.
Just when he was about to take the baby, you weakly called him. ,,Hyun, let the mother hold her first!’’ you whined.
Zen smiled as he nodded, observing how the baby was placed in your arms.
,,Princess, hello,’’ you whispered, tearing up at her sight.
,,She is so… perfect,’’ you whispered.
Zen couldn’t help but kiss your head and his baby’s as he decided to go out to tell everyone the news.
Of course he saw how shocked they were, maybe because he was crying like an idiot, but as soon as he told them that your baby girl was beautiful, they all looked so happy.
,,Take her! Show us!’’ Jaehee hissed as she began to cry too.
A few seconds later he and the nurse stepped out, a pink bundle in his arms as he showed the RFA his newborn girl.
,,She doesn’t look like you. She must be happy,’’ Jumin teased Zen.
,,She looks even better,’’ he whispered.
,,I really thought that your DNA would be stronger,’’ Yoosung commented.
,,It’s okay, I don’t mind. She’s still mine,’’ Zen said and smiled. He already loved her so much…
A year later, you and the RFA finally could do what you missed last year - the korean barbeque.
And this time, a special guest had her appearance too.
,,Say, cheese!’’ Zen blabbered as you held your daughter in your arms, her long dress fit perfectly with the big birthday cake she had on her face, liking her little chubby fingers.
,,Say, Daddy come too!’’ you whispered, taking her hand and waving at Zen while Jumin tried to take not so blurry pictures of you…
Thank God Jaehee used her phone too...
Yoosung
,,Dr Kim! Finally! A dog was hit by a car and needs medical assistance immediately!“ a co-worker of Yoosung said as he cut the call.
He looked inside, seeing from the windows that a young girl sat on the floor, her dog in her arms, crying over a pet.
If he didn’t know about Rika‘s and Sally‘s death, he would believe that this was his cousin.
The young man hesitated, his phone still in his hand.
At a totally different place, you were trying to keep your breath in rhythm as your mother stroked your hair.
Half an hour passed ever since you finally arrived at the hospital with the ambulance you called, your‘s and Yoosung’s mother with you in the room.
It was a kind of stressful situation. Your mother was happy, but at the same time a bit disappointed that Yoosung was still missing and his mother, your in-law, was worried over her son as he still wasn‘t there.
It was his first born. He fought so hard for this son that there was no way he would miss this opportunity.
,,I‘m going to call him again,“ she said as she was about to open the door to your room as it suddenly opened by itself.
,,I‘m here,“ he said, out of breath.
,,Where- why did you take such a long time?“ you asked him, worried and annoyed at the same time.
,,I- I was almost fired because they didn’t seem to understand that I wasn’t running away from work, but on my way to support you,“ he gasped.
,,What did I miss?“ he asked you, as you smiled, telling him that he was just in time.
Again, a wave of pain hit you as you gasped and tried to breathe through the pain.
Yoosung was a good support, telling you sweet words, stroking you, everything went well.
Finally, you were ready to push and from then on everything took about five minutes.
Yoosung was there when his first born took its first breath, when she cried for the first time. Yoosung was there to cut the cord, he saw how the little, also bloody, human being
to wash the baby for the first time and give her to you, making her stop crying as soon as her skin met yours.
,,She’s so beautiful…’’ you whispered. The tears didn’t want to stop falling as you held her in your arms.
,,But she has blonde hair. You still can’t match her,’’ you chuckled.
Yoosung nodded. ,,She doesn’t look like me at all. Maybe that’s why she’s so beautiful?’’ he asked you.
You laughed as you heard your comment, but your eyes never left your baby's little body.
,,Daddy is handsome, right?’’ you whispered, stroking your newborn's arm.
A few moments later, the nurse asked if Yoosung would like to hold her and wash her, since you were in too much pain to do it, something he agreed to immediately.
With the nurse telling him what to do and how to do it, Yoosung gave his baby their first bath, slowly and softly and with so much love.
,,You need to be really careful with the head,’’ the doctor explained and also told him the reason.
After your baby was fresh, you were allowed to have it again and just when you felt your baby's warmth again, your mother and mother in law entered the room, crying over their first granddaughter.
,,You looked exactly like her, Mc!’’ your mother proudly said as Yoosung’s mother looked at the baby with lovely eyes. ,,I hope my next grandchildren will also not get a single DNA from your looks!’’ she teased him.
Jaehee
The car ride was a rather calm one. Luckily, you were a bit in pain, but nothing like in the movies where the women cry and groan in pain.
,,Everyone reacts differently,’’ Jaehee told you as she stroked your arm, proud of you for handling this pain.
,,We’re here,’’ Seven announced, stepping out of the car and opening the door for you to help you.
Just when you stood next to the door, both feet on the ground outside the car, you felt a fluid coming out, running down your legs and wetting the ground below you.
,,Shit, this almost landed in my car!’’ Seven gasped as Jaehee climbed out of the red car, seeing that your water just broke.
,,Oh my god, the baby will come soon, Seven. Please call a nurse and bring us a wheelchair!’’ she whined and helped you walk a bit as Seven began to run towards the entrance.
,,Are you still okay?’’ Jaehee asked you worriedly and helped you to keep moving.
You nodded. There was a sharp pain indeed, but you could still handle it.
All you wished for was a hospital bed because for sure you wouldn’t give birth on the street.
,,Please sit down here. A midwife is already on her way!’’ a nurse called and helped you to sit down on the chair, rolling you quickly towards the entrance, followed by Jaehee with her bag.
Indeed, you all really had to hurry. As soon as they helped you change and laid you down on a bed, the contractions began to hit you.
You felt the urge to push and you moaned in pain.
,,We can begin!’’ a midwife announced and looked at Jaehee. ,,She will give birth now!’’ she told her.
Jaehee got nervous and finally the time came.
Holding your hand, she nodded. ,,Mc, you can do this!’’ she encouraged you while you spread your legs apart, pushing and leaning forward to put pressure on your belly.
,,UGH!’’ you groaned and laid back, gasping for air.
,,Okay, another push!’’ the midwife said, the same game again, you groaned again when you felt something slowly coming out.
,,I can see the head! Keep pushing!’’ she laughed.
Jaehee looked over to the midwife. She could also see the top of the baby, feeling more excited when the baby moved again.
,,The last push!’’ the midwife called and you did what she said.
Falling back, you gasped for air as the room was filled with a loud baby's cry.
Immediately, they handed you the baby boy, where you put your arms around him, holding him.
,,Oh gosh, he is so tiny!’’ you whined and looked at him.
Jaehee was also sobbing by now. ,,I’m so sorry that he looks nothing like you, but I am so thankful that you are here. He is your son too,’’ you told her.
Her lips were pressed together as she nodded.
,,Our son,’’ she whimpered.
A few days later, the three of you were finally ready to go home. Jaehee was carrying the baby in her arms and buckled him good in the back seat of the taxi as you slowly got in yourself.
,,Let’s go home,’’ you whispered to Jaehee, holding her hand.
,,Let’s go,’’ she said as she took yours, smiling.
Saeyoung
The red haired man didn’t come much later than you to the hospital room and was quickly by your side as your belly was connected to some tubes and wires.
They were monitoring the baby. Saeyoung knew that they weren’t there because something was wrong or bad, but still, it kind of scared him to see it all.
,,How are you?’’ he asked you while you had your eyes closed, opening them a bit to look at him.
,,Good, now that you’re here,’’ you whispered and squeezed his hand with your fingers, making him endure the pain.
,,Sorry,’’ you groaned when it got better, making him shake his head.
,,You are enduring much more than I am, so feel free to squeeze my hand,’’ he told you and stroked your head.
Suddenly, the machine made some beeping sounds, making him shriek and look at it, not understanding what was happening.
,,Move aside!’’ a nurse called as she entered, followed by your midwife and a doctor.
Saeyoung was quickly pulled aside as they told you something.
He was so overwhelmed by all his feelings that he forgot to listen to them.
He just somehow came back to life when he heard you cry and scream.
,,Once more!’’ the nurse said loudly and made you exclaim some words he didn’t get while you were pushing.
Saeyoung watched the whole scenario as you were pushing a little, brown haired baby out of you, covered in blood.
He began to sob when he realized that it was his daughter you just gave birth to.
,,The first girl is here!’’ the nurse happily laughed.
Saeyoung just focused on the baby and saw how she carried the crying baby away.
When his eyes couldn’t follow the nurse with his daughter anymore, Saeyoung focused on you again, seeing that you were still pushing and giving your best.
He also noticed that by now, some of your fears had come true. He had to press his lips together to not laugh and to not make you feel bad, but even though you were giving birth to a second girl, you saw him and seemed to understand his thoughts.
,,CHOI SAEYOUNG! ONE WORD TO ANYONE ABOUT ME POOPING AND I WILL KILL YOU!’’ you screamed and finally, a second scream filled the room.
,,There’s no need for me to do that! You did that yourself,’’ he laughed and came to you, kissing your nose.
The first baby finally came back and was immediately brought into your arms, followed quickly by the second twin.
,,Both are brown haired. I can’t say Tomato Girls anymore,’’ Saeyoung whined as he observed them.
,,Nope, you can’t tease my girls indeed,’’ you chuckled.
,,They totally don’t look like Saeyoung, I’m happy,’’ Jaehee commented in the chatroom when Saeyoung posted a picture Saeran took holding his babies.
,,I am too,’’ Saeran commented, teasing his brother.
,,They look just like Mc,’’ Yoosung said, but Saeyoung put his phone aside since right now his top priority was to observe his three ladies sleeping. ,,I know that you three are all mine, so I don’t care about your looks,’’ he mumbled and enjoyed the sight of his family.
Saeran
And so, as soon as you cut the call, you dialed the ambulance’s number, hoping that they would be there just in time to help you.
You were happy that you were finally giving birth, but on the other side, you were more than scared.
You knew that twins arrived earlier, but as a mother, you still were concerned.
Unable to think of anything else, you felt as if you drowned into your fears until the door rang, showing you that help was already there.
,,I honestly didn’t think that this would hurt so much,’’ you whined as Saeran was next to you. You knew that he had to keep himself together to not cry with you as you endured the pain.
Saeran looked down to your trembling hand as he sighed.
Hours passed and the pain just increased. Saeran was now massaging your temples and cleaning your sweat.
Suddenly, a loud sound made him turn around and look back to you, noticing that you were really pale.
,,Mc?’’ he called you, making you look at him.
,,It hurts,’’ you gulped and closed your eyes, hoping that it would get better.
,,No use, we need a C-Section!’’ someone said and roughly pushed Saeran away.
He couldn’t follow the medical words as you were suddenly brought away from him.
,,Wait, MC!’’ he tried to run after you, being held back by a nurse who was trying to calm him down.
More hours passed and Saeran was left alone in the big room, waiting for you and some news of you and his boys.
,,I can’t believe that three years passed so quickly already,’’ you laughed as you kissed one of your son’s heads, watching them eat their breakfast.
,,I know, back then those hours I was waiting for you were the worst. I’m happy that they could help you and at least stop the pain for a bit,’’ Saeran sighed as he thought back to that time when the nurse came up to him with one of the babies.
,,At first I thought it was a joke when the nurse told me you didn’t want to hold him!’’ you chuckled.
Saeran blushed.
,,He… first of all she just brought me one baby! I couldn’t have known that the other boy was too weak to see his daddy,’’ Saeran said, not so loud and observed his second son who apparently was too weak that day.
,,Our Haru was still too weak while Haneul was eager to see daddy,’’ you said, smiling.
,,Besides, I expected them to be red haired. He didn’t look like me at all. I thought she mistook the baby!’’ Saeran defended himself.
Maybe the next baby will have your looks,’’ you said, patting your belly and observing your sons making a mess on the table.
Jihyun
You were breathing heavily after the third push as nothing seemed to move forward.
The doctor kept telling you that you were doing great, but you didn’t trust him at all.
You felt impatient, nervous, frustrated, and in pain.
Jihyun seemed to feel that you were unhappy with the situation and kept stroking your head and patting your arm, encouraging you.
,,I love you so much,’’ he whispered.
Suddenly the doctor said something that gave you new hope. ,,I see the head, come on, we will be finished soon!’’ he smiled and gave you another push of strength as you finally let go of the tension.
You were just enjoying the cries of your baby. Finally, you could meet the little baby you were carrying for so long under your heart.
The baby was placed on your chest and immediately stopped crying, making you tear up.
So this was the connection between a mother and her child? You asked yourself.
You looked over to Jihyun who, too, was crying, enjoying the sight of the both of you.
He was probably implanting the sight of the both of you in his head.
Later on, Lucy too was allowed to visit you and her little sibling.
,,But he doesn’t look like daddy at all!’’ the little girl exclaimed, making you laugh.
Well, she was right.
But you all knew that this was for sure Jihyun’s baby, even though no one would say so.
Days passed and finally you guys were allowed to go home, something that made you more than happy. Sleeping, or at least laying in your own bed, made you feel much better than you thought.
,,Is he asleep?’’ Jihyun asked you when you stepped out of the room. It was three pm and you were honestly also ready for a little nap.
Laying your head on his shoulder, you nodded in response and felt his warm hands on your back.
,,Lucy must feel neglected,’’ you whined, feelings overwhelming you since you noticed that these days you didn’t do much. It was either sleeping, eating, or taking care of the baby.
,,No, she is such a caring child and understands, don’t worry. I am with her,’’ Jihyun tried to calm you.
,,Actually, while you and the baby were sleeping, she helped me with something. Come with me,’’ Jihyun whispered and led you to his working room, making you gasp.
,,It seems as if someone took a picture of us,’’ you gasped, again in tears as you saw the moment you held your son for the first time in your arms from the view of someone behind you.
He also managed to insert Lucy into the portrait as if she was there in that one, special moment.
,,She really helped you?’’ you asked him again and couldn’t believe what your eyes were observing.
,,I indeed have the best family,’’ you sobbed as Jihyun hugged you firmly.
Vanderwood
,,Are we all sure that this isn’t a false alarm?’’ Saeyoung asked loudly so that even you, in your room, where you were currently being examined, heard him.
By now you were somehow nervous, agitated.
You glared at Vanderwood who seemed to understand.
As soon as the doctor told you that you were doing well and that you didn’t even need an epidural, Vanderwood went out of the room for a short moment to tell Saeyoung to ,,Either shut the heck up or go and buy your bed on your own!’’ making you feel kind of bad afterwards, but you just needed it.
,,I’m honestly so happy that you aren’t in pain,’’ Vanderwood said when he returned. It was amazing how quickly he could change his mood.
You smiled at him and took his hand.
,,It’s a bit painful, but not that bad. I’m managing,’’ you smiled and looked down to your belly.
Soon you would be able to hold your girl.
,,Three more centimeters are missing,’’ Vanderwood whispered and put his head on yours, smiling as you closed your eyes to feel the warmth your body was sending you.
Time quickly passed and you were finally able to push.
You were rather quick and everyone in the room was positively surprised.
You didn’t scream or cry like most women, you just pushed and gave birth to your sunshine.
The midwife quickly took the baby while you and Vanderwood heard her cry and all your fears of any possible complications vanished.
,,The father can cut the cord if he wishes,’’ the nurse said and of course, Vanderwood didn’t wait and did what he was told, already tearing up.
The baby was quickly put in your arms where you could finally take a good look at her.
You chuckled when you saw her. ,,She is yours, I swear,’’ you told him as you looked at Vanderwood.
,,I know. I feel it even though she doesn’t look like me at all,’’ he smiled.
,,You know, she will probably only have my looks and be totally you with your characteristics,’’ you told him.
After a while, you decided that Vanderwood, too, had the right to have his baby in his arms and while he did so, holding that little miracle in his arms, you decided to take a hidden picture of him and his little girl. The first picture.
,,Why are you crying? Are you in pain?’’ Vanderwood asked you when he looked at you again.
,,No,’’ you sobbed. ,,It’s just that… you again look like a handsome man and… with the baby you look even better and I… I look like shit!’’ you hiccuped.
Vanderwood chuckled when he heard your words and handed you the baby. ,,You look like this baby. You’re still saying shit?’’ he asked you, calming you down.
The day was pretty emotional for you, which was a reason why Vanderwood decided to send the boys, who were waiting for you guys, home after greeting you shortly, to a shop for a bed for the whining grown up man while he could enjoy time with his own little family.

Chapter 7
You heard the alarm go off, but groaned and rolled over, attempting to smother the sounds with your pillow. You heard Henry chuckle, and roll out of bed, before walking out of the room.
He poked his head into Lavender’s room, where she was safe and asleep, so he continued his journey down the stairs. He turned the coffee machine on, and grabbed two travel mugs.
Today, you and him would be heading to your home town, and he’d be meeting your family. To say he was nervous would be an understatement. He was absolutely terrified. He was terrified that they wouldn’t like him, or that they would think he’s not a good father to Lavender.
He also nervous because he knew Lavender’s birth father lived in the same town, and he honestly didn’t know what he would do if he came face to face with that asshole.
He had just finished making both your coffee’s, when he hears Lavender wake up over the baby monitor. He headed to her room, peaking his inside his to check on you, who was still sleeping.
Lavender stopped crying when Henry came in to her line of sight, and watched him intently as he picked her up and cradled her against his chest. He changed her diaper quickly, and got her dressed, before taking her down stairs. He placed her into the high chair, and tilted it back gently so it supported her back and head. She had gotten better at holding up her own head, but Henry didn’t want to take any chances. She cooed and watched as he moved around the kitchen, getting everything ready for the road trip.
She blew a raspberry, and Henry turned around. “What are you doing, boo boo?” He asked her, walking over to press a kiss to her forehead. She let out a giggle, and then began moving her arms around wildly, and squealing. Henry smiled and unbuckled her, picking her up. “Mama is still sleeping, and Dada doesn’t want to wake her up yet. We have to be quiet.” He whispered, and he got a huge smiled in return, before Lavender laid her head on his shoulder.
Henry continued what he was doing, until Lavender let out a cry, signalling that she was hungry. Henry smushed her, but began prepping a bottle for her before walking into the living room with her, and sitting down to feed her. He gazed down at her as she happily ate her breakfast. “You are so beautiful, you know that?” He said. She gazed up at him in a way that almost made him believe that she understood what he was saying. “i’m gonna take care of you the way a father should. I don’t care that you’re biologically not mine, you’re my baby girl, and that’s all that matters,” He whispered, before pressing a kiss to her forehead. He watched as her eyes drifted shut.
You came down the stairs a few minutes later with all the pre-packed bags, and smiled at Henry who was holding Lavender.
“I didn’t hear her wake up,” You said, and Henry chuckled as he stood up.
“She woke up about an hour ago, but you were still sleeping so I got her. She’s eaten, and everything is ready to go,” He said. You nodded as you took a sip of your coffee. “Okay, thank you.” You said, and Henry walked over to you to give you a kiss.
“I’ll load the car up, if you get her in her car seat,” Henry suggested, passing Lavender to you. You took your daughter, and cradled her against your chest. She opened her eyes, and looked up at you. “We’re you being good for Dada?” You asked her, and she cooed in response.
A few minutes later, Lavender was secure in her car seat, and the car was packed. Henry carried the car seat to the car, and you climbed into the passengers seat, Kal following to lay on your feet. Henry got in the drivers seat, and the four of you were off. The drive went fairly well, with Lavender sleeping the majority of the time, in between feedings, where you would have to get in the back to help feed her.
You arrived at your parents house just before midnight, and both were relieved when you could see lights on, signifying that your family was still awake. Sneaking into your childhood home with a baby and dog didn’t seem like the most enjoyable thing.
You took Lavender and Kal, while Henry took the bags out.
“Y/N!” Your mom said, opening the door for you. “Hey, mom,” You said as you gave her a hug. Your dad came up and gave you one as well, before taking the car seat from you. Kal looked up at you for permission to follow Lavender, and you nodded, before he scurried off to protect his sister. You stepped away from the door to allow Henry through with the bags, which you took from him while he met your mom.
“You must be Henry!” Your mom said, pulling him into her arms for a hug. You giggled as Henry returned her hug.
“It’s nice to meet you, Mrs. Y/L/N.” He said, and your mom instantly corrected him.
“Please, call me Y/M/N.”
They continued to talk, and you decided to get Lavender out of her seat, as she was looking quite done with being strapped in. You freed her, and she immediately cooed in happiness before snuggling into your chest. You glanced over at Henry, who was talking to your dad about football, and took a seat on the couch. Your mom came over, and took her from you so she could have some cuddles, and you took that opportunity to take the bags to your old bedroom. When you walked in, you smiled as you saw your parents had set up your crib that you had used for Lavender to sleep in.
Henry came in a while later, and helped you unpack the bags, and get everything ready for Lavender to go to sleep. You heard her crying from the living room, and Henry immediately went to her aid. He re-entered the bedroom with her in his arms moments later, and she was handed to you. “She’s hungry, I think. She wasn’t wet or anything.”
“Okay,” You said, and freed your breast to feed her. She latched on, and you sat down against the headboard. Henry watched you out of the corner of his eye as he moved about the room, getting ready for bed. He joined you moments later, and a kiss was pressed to your cheek before he did the same to Lavenders.
“Are you nervous to meet the rest of my family tomorrow?” You questioned Henry, and he gave you a small smile.
“No. I am nervous that I’m going to run into her birth father though. I don’t know how I would be able to stop myself from hurting him.” He admitted, and you grabbed his hand with your free one.
“Don’t worry about him. He won’t hurt us, okay?” You promised, and Henry smiled before laying his head on your shoulder and drifting off to sleep with his eyes locked on his little girl. She was safe.
But, he should have known that wasn’t true. The next morning, your parents had asked you to go on a grocery store run, and the three of you decided to go. Henry was pushing the cart, Lavender was enjoying her new surroundings in her car seat, while you were consulting the list, and putting things in the cart. Henry gazed around at the people also shopping, almost searching for your ex. He realized he shouldn’t be so suspicious, and focused on Lavender again, who was looking at the different coloured fruits and vegetables, her fingers being sucked on in her mouth.
The three of you made your way to the snack aisle, and that’s when it happened. Henry heard what sounded like a curse word come out your mouth just as a man, no older than 25 entered the same aisle as you. He locked eyes with you, and Henry watched as he approached you. Henry looked at you, and he instantly knew who it was.
Lavenders father.
Henry immediately moved the cart so Lavender couldn’t be seen, and stood in between the cart and you, so you were within reaching distance.
“Hey, Y/N.” He said. You rolled your eyes, but turned to face your ex.
“What do you want, Y/E/N?” You said in an exasperated voice.
“Where’s my daughter?” He asked, and Henry moved the cart behind his back a little more. This made your ex look at him, and notice the back of the car seat peaking out from behind Henry. “Who the hell are you?” He asked in a demanding tone.
“I’m Henry.” He stated plainly. He reached out and pulled you closer to him. You turned your head, and buried your face into his chest. You knew he’d protect you and Lavender; he was Superman after all.
“Why are you near my daughter?” Your ex asked in the same demanding tone. Henry felt the anger bubbling up, and did nothing to stop it.
“She’s not your daughter. She’s mine,” Henry said, in the same villainous tone that he had to use for Walker.
Y/E/N scoffed. “Like hell she is. Unless she was cheating on me with you, and I highly doubt that, there is no way in hell that she is your daughter.”
Henry narrowed his eyes before continuing. “You’re right. Biologically, she is not mine, but that doesn’t matter to me. She is my daughter in every other way. You left Y/N the second she told you she was pregnant. She had to be pregnant alone for 9 months, and then parent completely alone for another 2 because you decided you didn’t want the responsibility. She is my daughter. I stepped up when I didn’t have to, simply because I love her mother, and I love her. You don’t.”
“Well I’m here now. Shouldn’t that count for something?”
Henry laughed. “You have no rights to her. I’m the one waking up at night to take care of her so Y/N can sleep. I’m the one that bathes her, changes her, plays with her, and gives her love and protection. The night I met her, I made a promise to myself that I would protect her and her mother for the rest of my life and that is exactly what I am going to do. She is my daughter in every way that matters.”
Y/E/N narrowed his eyes and took a step towards Henry. Henry immediately moved you behind him, as he was anticipating this getting physical. You moved to your daughter, and pushed the cart to the end of the aisle. “I’ll take you to court.”
Henry felt himself slip into his ‘Walker headspace’ as he called it, before he retaliated. “Good luck with that. See, unlike you, I am an actor. Not just any actor too. I’ve played Superman, Geralt of Rivia, Napoleon Solo, and I am now playing August Walker in Mission Impossible for the second time. And, Y/N told me that you’ve seen Fallout, so you know what Walker can do. I make a hell of a lot more money than you do, and I have a much better legal team than you. Not to mention, these muscles,” He motioned to his upper body. “aren’t just for my looks. They’re useful too.” he got right in your ex’s face, to intimidate him before continuing. “I can beat the shit out of little pussy men who think they can come here and threaten my girlfriend and my daughter. Now get the fuck out of here before I recreate the bathroom scene, right here in the aisle.” Henry finished, and turned to face you but not before your ex opened up his mouth again.
“This isn’t over, Y/N. she’s my daughter, and I WILL take her from you.” Henry’s eyes darkened, and turned around. He raised his fist and punched your ex square in the nose so hard that went flying back down the aisle. He walked and stood over him.
“So help me God, you contact me, Y/N or my daughter in ANY way, I will go all August Walker on your ass. I’m sure Tom Cruise would love to help as well.” He spat in your ex’s face. He turned and saw that you were in tears. He ran up to you and enveloped you in a hug.
“It’s okay. He can’t hurt us.” Henry whispered in your ear, as Henry pushed the cart out of the aisle and towards the checkout. “Here,” he said, handing you his card. “Checkout. I’m going to go let the manager know what happened. I’ll see you in the car.” You nodded, and watched as he approached an employee.
You checked out silently, and headed to the car. Lavender had taken notice of how upset you were, and began bowing raspberries in the hopes of cheering you up, which worked. You loaded her, and then the groceries, into the car, before climbing in and fully breaking down. Henry joined you moments later and you were pulled back into his arms.
“You’re okay. I’m sorry I let my anger get the best of me.” he whispered into your hair. You shook your head.
“That’s not why I’m crying. I-I’m scared he’s going to take her away.” Henry hugged to tighter when he heard your broken voice.
“Not gonna happen. I won’t let anything happen to her.” He promised. You nodded, and pulled away so Henry could drive.
You were still shaken up over what happened when you arrived home, immediately disappearing to your bedroom with Lavender. Henry carried the groceries in the house, and helped your mom put them away.
“Did something happen at the store? Y/N seems upset.” She asked.
“Y/E/N was there and he threatened her with taking Lavender from us. I couldnt let that happen, so I threatened him a little, and ended up punching him in the face.” he winced as he finished talking, unsure of what your moms reaction was going to be.
She turned to him, and gave him a high five. “Thank you. I never liked him.” Henry busted out laughing seconds later.
Henry went out for a run with Kal a few hours later, and your mom came upstairs with some lunch for you. You were laying on the bed, watching a movie on on the TV while Lavender napped in the crib.
“Hey, Henry told me what happened. Are you okay?” She asked, offering you the plate with an egg salad sandwich on it. You took it and nodded.
“Yeah, I am. Just a little shaken up is all.” You said, and she took a seat on the bed.
“Okay. You know, your birth father threatened the same thing many times.” She admitted. Your head shot up to look at your mom.
“Really?”
Your mom nodded, and continued. “Yep. But, your dad never let that happen, and I know Henry won’t. I absolutely hate that you are going through what I did with your father, but we both know Henry is going to protect you and her the same way your dad protected you and I. If he becomes an issue, you can always get a restraining order.” You nodded, and watched as your mom pressed a kiss to your temple before walking out.
“Everything’s going to be fine,” You said, as you ate and watched your daughters chest move up and down rhythmically. She was safe.
A/N Pt 2: I just thought i’d clarify that when i say ‘father’ and ‘dad’ i mean two completely different things. To me, a ‘father’ is the one who is biologically related to the child, and a ‘dad’ is the one who raises the child. Anyone can be a father, but it takes a real man to be a dad.

Your boyfriend was practically vibrating with nerves as he adjusted his hair in the mirror. It was artfully piled on top of his head, his dark roots making a sharp contrast against the vibrant red.
“Ei,” you smiled, “you’re gonna be fine.”
He worried his sharp teeth against his bottom lip, frowning all the while. “But what if they--?”
“They’re going to love you, Ei. Probably even more than they love me,” you joke, coming up behind Eijirou’s monstrously large form. Hero work had been both kind and harsh on him but he made it look effortlessly good. You gently slid your arms around his waist as you angled yourself so that you could still eye his reflection.
“I’m just… worried, is all.”
You cock your eyebrow. “About what, Ei?”
He incredulously meets your gaze through the mirror. “What do you mean, about what?!”
It dawns on you a little bit. “Oh, well, she’s not going to be mean to you, Ei. She knows how to play nice when it counts. And you, good sir, count.”
“That’s not as reassuring as it is worrying, you know.”
“My mother is just a little intense, babe, it’s nothing I’m not used to. Like I said, she knows how to tone it down in front of others. I’m sure tonight will be fine. I probably just exaggerate everytime I whine about her, so she’s probably not even half as bad as I make her sound,” you shrug, leaning more into Eijirou’s side.
“Baby,” he sighs, twisting a little to look directly at you, no mirror this time. His eyes are sad yet firm as if wishing you to understand that there’s no need to defend yourself with him.
You squeeze him tighter before letting go and walking to the door. “C’mon, we’ll be late if we don’t leave now.”
You always forget that you don’t really ever exaggerate your mother’s behavior towards you until you’re around her again. Everything as far as introducing your boyfriend to your parents has been going incredibly smoothly. Your dad enthusiastically engaged Eijirou in hero stories, talking about Red Riot’s  most recent media appearance where he was dressed in pajamas and carrying tubs of various ice creams you both had wanted to try when he dropped everything to prevent a construction beam from falling on clueless bystanders. Only one tub of ice cream had survived and luck had it that it was your least favorite flavor combination. Your mother praised Eijirou for his success and his coupling good looks at which she winked, making your boyfriend flush both at the phrase and the uncomfortable comments your mother directed at him. You winced at that, having forgotten to prepare him for the habitual talent your mother had of sexualizing anything, especially if it would ‘embarrass’ her child.
Your mother had made off handed comments throughout the whole night that you seemed to be the only one to pick up on. Your dad might have noticed a few but, as usual, he only looked at you apologetically, never interrupting his wife to stand up for you.
As much as you loved both of your parents and as much as they had their good moments, this fucking sucked.
“--not that she’s any good with that quirk of hers, of course,” your mother snickered as she brought the glass to her lips. You had become a good actor over the years in order to avoid your mother’s bullying over your ‘sensitiveness’, but something about her dismissing your hard work always immediately dismantled whatever mask you had thrown on. To cover what you know must be a crestfallen look, you give a laugh, something that could be called half-hearted at best. Your eyes remained trained on your food. “Oh come on, Y/n, that was funny.”
You chuckled again, hoping to force some genuineness into it. “Yeah--”
“No, it wasn’t,” Eijirou immediately cuts you off, voice straining with anger. You felt your face drain of blood as you noticed how tightly he was gripping his chopsticks. He was fuming. You don’t think you’d ever seen him angry before. The thought scared you. “That was just mean.”
Your mother quirked an unimpressed, subtly pissed brow at your boyfriend. “Don’t be sensitive, Eijirou. House rules: if it’s mean but funny, it’s okay.”
“As long as you get a laugh from it, it’s okay to abuse your child?” He spits at her like venom.
Your mother sets her glass down, eyes narrowing. “Excuse me?”
“You heard--”
You slap a hand over Eijirou’s bicep, squeezing so hard you wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up bruising. “It’s fine! Nothing I’m used to! I grew up on the ‘if it’s mean but funny’ rule, so it’s fine.”
The look he gave you was of incredulous anger. “No, it is not--!”
“Please, Ei. Please, just--,” you averted your eyes, ashamed of your own familiar defeat. “Just sit.”
Shamefully, you slide back into your seat, nervously smoothing out a napkin back onto your lap. Eijirou still stood beside you, staring daggers at your mother who effortlessly returned it. His fists were balled, the veins in his hands flexing with the effort of restraining himself. His jaw snapped shut with an audible clamp as he resolved himself to sitting back down.
Your dad clears his throat, more so than necessary as if the harder he did it, the better he could dissipate the tension. “Done, everyone?” No one answers him. He takes that as the go ahead to begin clearing dishes, desperately jumping at the opportunity to escape your mother’s impending tantrum. You loved your dad very much but, god, he was nothing if not a coward, always leaving you to fight your own battles. You don’t think you’ve ever won.
Your mother returns her cold attention to you, the ice starting to thicken and your mother’s hollow kindness starting to retreat along with her patience. “What are you even doing to help train your quirk, sweetie?”
Taken aback, you met her gaze. “W-what do you mean?”
“I mean, I don’t ever see you doing anything at all to help. You do realize that training takes work, right? What does it take? It takes--,” your mother trailed off, flourishing both hands to motion for you to finish the sentence.
“Effort--”
“Effort!” She clapped with your word. “It takes effort! And I only want the best for you, sweetheart, which is why I’m just asking what you’re doing. From where I stand, it doesn’t look like you’re doing anything at all to help improve yourself! As your mother, your concerned mother, I’m just looking out for you, sweetheart.”
Your mind is reeling at her words. You so badly want to defend yourself, assert all of the effort that you have painstakingly put in-- but you are reminded of the precise way your mother is able to leech any ounce of power or confidence from you. You would think that was her quirk if you didn’t know any better. “Mom, I am putting effort in, I train almost everyday--”
“Do you really?” Her voice drips with venomous shock. “It certainly doesn’t look like you do,” she gestures vaguely at you, eyeing your body with a vulture’s gaze. “Maybe you should consider morning and night. Oh! And a diet change, too. You know, since the popular heroes have a specific look to them and I just want to make sure that you can fit that. Since it’s your dream to be a popular hero. Like I said, you have to be willing to put in the effort. Oh, sweetie, don’t look at me like that. You know the difficult position I’m in! Trying to encourage you and help you achieve your dreams while not seeming too enthusiastic. You’re putting that stress on me, sweetie, I’m only trying to help.”
It really was incredible how quickly your mother could erase any confidence you had. Normally, you would stand beaming, more than happy to assert yourself and stand up for yourself and others. All it took was a couple words from your mother, and you turned into a dog with its head down and its tail between its legs, fearful of its master.
Your gut sank and hatred swirled throughout your body for both yourself and her as you once again let her have power over you. “You’re right. Sorry, Mom--”
“Do you know where your daughter ranks as a hero?”
Stunned, you both glanced at Eijirou, having almost completely forgotten that he was there. Throughout her tirade, you had felt a tragically familiar loneliness, used to having to defend yourself when no one, not even your other family members, would. Used to always submitting and used to the shame that always accompanied your forced silence.
“What?” She spat.
“I asked if you knew your daughter’s ranking. I just was wondering, is all. It would make sense if you weren’t aware that she ranks in the top 30 since you were asking about the effort she puts in. I would think that that accomplishment -- at such a young age, too, might I add -- was evidence enough of the countless hours, blood, sweat, and tears that she has poured into this. The effort she’s painstakingly put in. You’re right that being a hero is her dream, and she’s a damn good one, too. Saved my life more than once with ‘that quirk of hers’,” he sneered bitterly. “And, on top of that, she’s so beautiful through and through that sometimes it’s all I can do to stare at her in awe. Your thinly veiled shaming of her appearance is never the result of a mother’s so-called difficult situation, only the result of your own insecurities.”
Eijirou suddenly stands, having finally had more than enough for one night. “The only gratitude I will ever have towards you is for bringing this wonderful woman into this world. I hope one day you’ll actually realize how amazing your daughter is and how proud of her you ought to be. Because I am. I am so incredibly proud of her and her accomplishments and the results of her efforts.”
“And who’s to say that I’m not proud of her, Eijirou?”
He scoffs. Eijirou, the kindest, most patient man you know, scoffs in your mother’s face. “Haven’t you ever heard that actions speak louder than words?”
Your mother gapes up at him, opening and closing her mouth like a fish. In that moment, she resembles a fish and you couldn’t be more pleased with that comparison.
“He’s right, mom.” You rise to join him. “I know you love me. I have no choice but to believe it because I think it would destroy me if I didn’t. But maybe someday I won’t constantly have to defend myself to you and you’ll accept the things I say without dismissing them. You always say you admire me most for my assertiveness but you shut me down anytime I use it to stand up for myself against you. And that makes you nothing but a hypocrite.” You stare her down, reveling in the confidence Eijirou gives you in this thing against your mother. For the first time, you are not alone as you fight this battle. For the first time, you have help. And for the first time, you feel like you’ve won. “Now if you’ll excuse us.”
You take Eijirou’s hand and lead him out of the house, leaving your parents to stare after you in shock. As soon as you make it out, cold air hits you like a slap in the face that harshly wakes you from a daze.
“Holy shit, Ei, did I just stand up to my mom?”
He laughs and squeezes your hand. “It was pretty manly, too.” You laugh breathlessly, still in disbelief as you push your other fist against his arm. “And you know,” he continues, “that I’m the best judge of that.”
“That must mean a lot,” you grin, swinging your linked hands between you as you walk further from your parents’ home, feeling the fullness of a good meal and a battle won.
