I finished playing Republic Commando for the first time and have some thoughts to share (: Beware, there be spoilers!
Alright so first of all, I'm a fan, and I think I'm gonna be obsessed with the boys from Delta Squad. Mind you, I haven't read the RepComm books yet, but I have the fullest intention to do so (they're patiently waiting to be taken off their shelves).
To start with, I've really enjoyed picking up gaming again. I've been gaming (mostly Playstation) since I was about 10 years old, and it's always been one of my favourite hobbies, so I'd totally call myself a gamer. Due to adulting, I hadn't gamed for over a year. So picking up my controller to finally game again was such a good feeling <3
So I've seen a lot of art featuring Delta Squad here on Tumblr, so that obviously piqued my interest. Reason number one to finally play this game is definitely @deltasquadweek , because I needed some sort of reference to participate, and what better option than the source material?
Look at me rambling; I haven't even properly talked about the actual game yet. To be fair, I'm really bad with giving a substantiated opinion review-wise, and I'm really bad with analysing stuff. So this won't be a review or analysis, it will just be another Lupe ramble, I guess.
The Game™️
So the game was awesome! I know it just hit its 20 year anniversary, and it obviously has 2005 graphics, but that's alright and I can definitely look through it because I know it's from that year and it actually feels nostalgic (I used to play a lot of Star Wars Battlefront II during my childhood, which also released in 2005). The story was pretty cool, although it had some bigger time gaps with missions jumping through the Clone Wars. I wouldn't have minded more missions, but that's mainly because I would have liked to see more of the boys. (Also detail: I played on Medium difficulty, which was the default setting)
Geonosis was awesome, despite the Geonosians being swift and slimy buggers which were hard to kill in melee, because of them being so.. Swift and slimy. I love that this first mission was right at the start of the war, and now we know how much Delta Squad contributed to the war effort. The last level (the timed one; was this the infamous Belly of the Beast?) was pretty hard and it took me a few times to beat it, but I was super happy to get all four boys out of Geonosis alive.
The ghost ship/RAS Prosecutor mission was pretty scary at some points haha, gave me some Alien (1979) vibes, especially with the face hugging scavenger droids. I have mentioned before on my blog that I'm a wimp when it comes to the horror genre, but I made it out unharmed - again, like the boys. (Although those Trandoshans scared the kark out of me a few times; it had some good jump scares!)
Unfortunately the Trandoshans returned in the Kashyyyk mission, as was expected - but so did the Geonosians, which was a pretty unpleasant surprise. Especially because they kicked our shebs with their elite warriors when they appeared out of kriffing nowhere. How rude. I definitely struggled the most with the Kachirho Bridge mission, because those insufferable SBDs kept killing us. I found it ironically hilarious that the level was called 'A Bridge Too Far', my inner history nerd really appreciated that fact.
I wish I could say I got all boys out of Kashyyyk too, but everyone who played the game knows that doesn't happen. I knew Sev wouldn't make it out with his squad before starting the game, because I guess it's hard to stay away from spoilers for 20 years. It just.. The fact that I knew it would happen, didn't make it easier? Because now I've seen the boys, their personalities and their dynamics, so now it makes it harder. Boss' determination to get Sev out, Fixer's practical answer based on regulation, Scorch's devastation.. Kriff Yoda.
BUT one thing I learned from watching Game of Thrones is that if you don't see someone dying on screen, they don't have to be truly dead (and sometimes when they die on screen, they come back anyway). Right? Right?!?
(Kriff, I wish they'd made that sequel game)
Alright alright, happy thoughts, happy thoughts.. 🧘🏻♀️ Yes, Delta Squad! I'd just like to say: I love all of them, obviously. But Scorch is probably my favourite? Although Sev is just <333 And Boss, but.. I can't leave Fixer out now, can I??
I love how they all have their own strengths and skills, and I loved how the game made use if it through the commands feature. It worked pretty well (although I only figured out how to use it on PS4 after Geonosis) and it was a really fun way to move around with computer-controlled characters.
The Blorbos™️
Scorch is just so much fun, I had to laugh at almost every comment he made. I loved his enthusiasm and his dynamics with the others, especially with Sev <3 And Sev is just amazing, I fell for him the moment I heard him talk for the first time. I also love the bloody paint decoration on his armour and his hunter/predator vibe, especially with the sniping. Oh my <3 I loved how Fixer was totally different, maybe a bit more of a follower of the rules, but definitely not less badass because of it. And Boss.. Well I did fall for Sev's voice, but if you let Temuera Morrison voice a clone, you have my vote. And he was Boss alright, since the others had such respect for him and followed all his orders without a doubt.
I'm actually really looking forward to diving into some Delta Squad headcanons, and of course more art and hopefully some fics too! And I can't wait to start creating some Delta Squad content myself!
Alright, have a Commando Cookie if you made it this far 🍪 Count me in as a Republic Commando fan, I'm definitely gonna obsess about it more and more and it's gonna be my hyperfixation (RepComm) within a hyperfixation (TCW) within a hyperfixation (Star Wars). So I guess you'll be seeing me around simping over anything RepComm/Delta Squad (and hopefully the books next) 🫡

realities, maximalism, and the need for big book™️
some gubat banwa design thoughts vomit: since the beginning of its development i've kind of been enraptured with trying to really go for "fiction-first" storytelling because PbtA games really are peak roleplaying for me, but as i wrote and realized that a lot of "fiction first" doesn't work without a proper sort of fictional foundation that everyone agrees on. this is good: this is why there are grounding principles, genre pillars, and other such things in many PbtA games--to guide that.

broken worlds is one of my favs bc of sheer vibes
Gubat Banwa didn't have much in that sense: sure, I use wuxia and xianxia as kind of guideposts, but they're not foundational, they're not pillars of the kind of fiction Gubat Banwa wants to raise up. there wasn't a lot in the sense of genre emulation or in the sense of grounding principles because so much of Gubat Banwa is built on stuff most TTRPG players haven't heard about. hell, it's stuff squirreled away in still being researched academic and anthropological circles, and thanks to the violence of colonialism, even fellow filipinos and seasians don't know about them
this is what brought me back to my ancient hyperfixations, the worlds of Exalted, Glorantha, Artesia, Fading Suns... all of them have these huge tomes of books that existed to put down this vast sprawling fantasy world, right? on top of that are the D&D campaign settings, the Dark Suns and the Eberrons. they were preoccupied in putting down setting, giving ways for people to interact with the world, and making the world alive as much as possible.

one of my main problems with gubat banwa was trying to convey this world that i've seen, glimpsed, dreamed of. this martial fantasy world of rajas and lakans, sailendras and tuns, satariyas and senapatis and panglimas and laksamanas and pandai... its a world that didn't really exist yet, and most references are steeped in either nationalism or lack of resources (slowly changing, now)

i didn't want to fall back into the whole gazeteer tourist kind of shit when it came to writing GB, but it necessitated that the primary guidelines of Gubat Banwa were set down. my approach to it was trying to instill every aspect of the text, from the systems to the fluff text to the way i wrote to the way things were phrased, with the essence of this world i'm trying to put forward. while i wrote GB mainly for me and fellow SEAsian people, economically my main market were those in the first world countries that could afford to buy the book. grokking the book was always going to be severely difficult for someone that didn't have similar cultures, or are uninterested in the complexities of human culture. thus why GB had to be a big book.
in contemporary indie ttrpg spaces (where I mostly float in, though i must admit i pay more attention to SEAsia spaces than the usual US spaces) the common opinion is that big books like Exalted 3e are old hat, or are somewhat inferior to games that can cram their text into short books. i used to be part of that camp--in capitalism, i never have enough time, after all. however, the books that do go big, that have no choice to go big, like Lancer RPG, Runequest, Mage, Exalted are usually the ones that have something really big it needs to tell you, and they might be able to perform the same amount of text-efficient bursting at the seams flavor writing but its still not enough.
thats what happened to GB, which I wanted to be, essentially, a PbtA+4e kind of experience, mechanically speaking. i very soon abandoned those titles when i delved deeper into research, incorporated actual 15th century divination tools in the mechanics, injected everything with Martial Arts flavor as we found our niche
all of this preamble to say that no matter how light i wanted to go with the game, i couldnt go too light or else people won't get it, or i might end up writing 1000 page long tome books explaining every detail of the setting so people get it right. this is why i went heavy on the vibes: its a ttrpg after all. its never gonna be finished.
i couldnt go too light because Gubat Banwa inherently exists on a different reality. think: to many 3 meals a day is the norm and the reality. you have to eat 3 meals a day to function properly. but this might just be a cultural norm of the majority culture, eventually co opted by capitalism to make it so that it can keep selling you things that are "breakfast food" or "dinner food" and whatnot. so its reality to some, while its not reality to others. of course, a lot of this reality-talk pertains mostly to social--there is often a singular shared physical reality we can usually experience*
Gubat Banwa has a different fabric of reality. it inherently has a different flow of things. water doesn't go down because of gravity, but because of the gods that make it move, for example. bad things happen to you because you weren't pious or you didn't do your rituals enough and now your whole community has to suffer. atoms aren't a thing in gb, thermodynamics isn't a real thing. the Laws of Gubat Banwa aren't these physical empirical things but these karmic consequent things
much of the fiction-first movement has a sort of "follow your common sense" mood to it. common sense (something also debatable among philosophers but i dont want to get into that) is mostly however tied to our physical and social realities. but GB is a fantasy world that inherently doesn't center those realities, it centers realities found in myth epics and folk tales and the margins of colonized "civilization", where lightnings can be summoned by oils and you will always get lost in the woods because you don't belong there.
so Gubat Banwa does almost triple duty: it must establish the world, it must establish the intended fiction that arises from that world, and then it must grant ways to enforce that fiction to retain immersion--these three are important to GB's game design because I believe that that game--if it is to not be a settler tourist bonanza--must force the player to contend with it and play with it within its own terms and its own rules. for SEAsians, there's not a lot of friction: we lived these terms and rules forever. don't whistle at night on a thursday, don't eat meat on Good Friday, clap your hands thrice after lighting an incense stick, don't make loud noise in the forests. we're born into that [social] reality
this is why fantasy is so important to me, it allows us to imagine a different reality. the reality (most of us) know right now (i say most of us because the reality in the provinces, the mountains, they're kinda different) is inherently informed by capitalist structures. many people that are angry at capitalist structures cannot fathom a world outside capitalist structures, there are even some leftists and communists that approach leftism and revolution through capitalism, which is inherently destructive (its what leads to reactionaries and liberalism after all). fantasy requires that you imagine something outside of right now. in essence read Ursula K Le Guin
i tweeted out recently that you could pretty easily play 15-16th century Luzon or Visayas with an OSR mechanic setting and William Henry Scott's BARANGAY: SIXTEENTH CENTURY PHILIPPINE CULTURE AND SOCIETY, and I think that's purely because barebones OSR mechanics stuff fits well with the raiding and adventuring that many did in 15-16th century Luzon/Visayas, but a lot of the mechanics wont be comign from OSR, but from Barangay, where you learn about the complicated marriage customs, the debt mechanics, the social classes and stratum...
so thats why GB needs to be a (relatively) big book, and why I can contend that some books need to be big as well--even if their mechanics are relatively easy and dont need more than that, the book, the game, might be trying to relay something even more, might be trying to convey something even more than that. artesia, for example, has its advancements inherently tied to its Tarot Cards, enforcing that the Arcana guides your destiny. runquest has its runes magic, mythras (which is kinda generic) has pretty specific kinds of magic systems that immediately inform the setting. this is why everything is informed by something (this is a common Buddhist principle, dependent arising). even the most generic D&D OSR game will have the trappings of the culture and norms of the one that wrote and worked on it. its written from their reality which might not necessarily be the one others experience. that's what lived experience is, after all
*live in the provinces for a while and you'll doubt this too!

Hey Pinkie,
Could you give me the basic gist of the NTT Team Dynamics, like the different relationships within the team?
Sorry if i'm bombarding you with these asks.
Oh, not at all! I realise I mainly covered individual characters in my previous post, mainly to cut down on time, so I’m happy to flesh things out a bit more! (I’m happy any time someone asks about my work, really 😊)
Okay, so I briefly mentioned Tim and Steph’s relationship, and there’s a lengthier post I did a while back about them, so I’ll link that at the bottom of this post.
Then there’s Tim and Conner. This one’s fun, because sometimes they get along great—Tim has a rebellious side to him, and kind of a skater boy thing going on—but he was also raised by very conservative parents and has Batman for a mentor, and he’s smart enough to know that doing something stupid will lead to stupid consequences, so sometimes (a lot of times) he winds up becoming the Mom™️ of the group. And when that happens, he and Conner come into conflict. Thing is, Conner’s smart in his own ways too, so when he gets into trouble, he’s really good at getting out of trouble, and… he knows how to spin his ideas to convince Tim to go along with them. Basically, it’s like a constant game of “join the dark side, Anakin… we have cookies!” And Steph is usually the one holding the cookies. Then Tim comes to his senses, or Batman shows up, and suddenly he’s all “of course, I—a responsible leader of this team—would never even consider doing the immature thing—cough cough!” But they become good friends. They poke fun at one another a lot, throwing zingers, and they enjoy talking when they get the chance. They just find it easy to vibe with one another.
Unlike…
Conner and Cassie! Now, this is all based off of one comic panel, but I just latched onto this idea like a barnacle to the hull of a crusty ship. Cassie did initially have a crush on Conner when they first met, but that was short-lived because she quickly discovered how annoying Conner can be sometimes. He’s like that little brother who just shows up and—for no reason—starts poking you, flipping the light switch, making noises, and generally just being a pain. Cassie was raised alone with her mother, traveling a bunch, meeting kids from a lot of other cultures, so she knows how to get along with a lot of very different people… she’s still never met someone as annoying as Conner. Plus, her moral compass points toward: being kind to people, being respectful, trying NOT to be annoying. You can see how Conner might just be pushing her buttons in a very specific way when he starts acting a little too much like Lex, and gets carried away. They’re like a cat and a dog. Chasing each other. Screaming at each other. Tim has to intervene. Sigh. But when it counts, of course they’ll always be there for one another… just for no longer than 30 seconds…
Cassie and the other two girls. Now, Cass isn’t particularly older than them by much, but it’s mostly because of her knowledge and confidence mixed with her moral compass that she (generally) is kind of looked at like the leader of the three. But only so much. Again, they’re all about the same age, so it doesn’t feel like she’s the “mom” it’s more like they’re sisters, and she’s the oldest sister… so naturally, Steph intentionally doesn’t listen sometimes. She believes that she’s got enough street smarts of her own (plus Batman’s training) that she and Cassie are on equal footing, which can sometimes lead to arguments, because Cassie feels like her world traveling and being mentored by Wonder Woman gives her more experience than Steph, so… you could say there’s some tension there… Both of them have more experience on Earth than M’gann, so she tends to look up to both of them, and often turns to them for advice. Steph loves playing “mentor” but sometimes Cassie feels like she’s giving the wrong advice (her father being a supervillain doesn’t help Cassie’s opinion, but over the course of the show, we find out that a lot of the members have villainous parents, so it becomes a moot point eventually). Now, it’s not as though Cassie enjoys being in this position of contention. She can be plenty impulsive and adventurous and is a bit of a dork, but it’s funny the way hanging out with certain people can bring out a part of you that you didn’t even know you had. Steph is such a firecracker that it’s impossible for someone not to feel a little apprehensive about what she does and says, but after the girls get to know one another better, their relationship turns from sort of a competition, to more like “partners in crime” almost. Cassie remains the moooore level headed of the two, but yeah… they can get up to trouble if left unsupervised. But with M’gann, Cassie is very sympathetic. She’s traveled, she’s felt like an alien before, she’s been the only white girl in a room before, she gets how M’gann must be feeling. (In truth, she doesn’t quite fully grasp the specifics of her situation, but to be fair, M’gann didn’t tell everyone the specifics up front, so…) Anyway, M’gann appreciates how thoughtful Cassie can be, and often looks to her for advice, especially when it comes to…
Conner and M’gann! Alright, don’t go running for the hills just yet. I know that the Young Justice cartoon scared a lot of us, but trust me when I say that these two characters are not the same ones from that show. Yes, M’gann does see Conner as fitting into the “ideal human boyfriend” category that she’s seen in all those Earth TV shows, but that image usually comes crashing down the minute Conner opens his mouth. Now, they both kinda liked the look of each other the moment they met, but keep in mind, Conner has only actually been alive for about a year or so. Maybe a year and a half—two tops. So, he’s never been in love before. It was never taught to him. He’s just a big ball of raging hormones with no guidance! yaaaaaay… Don’t worry, nothing bad happens, but imagine a six-year-old’s approach to girls… girls he likes… that more or less sums up how Conner first approached things. Very blunt, very innocent, not knowing what’s considered “too forward” or “rude” so he makes a lot of critical errors at first, which he doesn’t realise are errors until he talks to the other guys. Overall, though, his confidence levels remain relatively high, so he plans on adjusting his approach and going in for round two. M’gann feels awkward about the whole situation, like “is this how Earth boys actually are in real life? Is this just a Kryptonian thing? Am I missing something?” She’s overanalysing the situation something awful, and she wonders if it feels wrong because of something she’s doing, or not doing, and she talks to the other girls about it… When Conner actually gets it through his head how to talk to girls, that’s when their relationship starts. He can be very rough and playful, like a big golden retriever, but he’s learned that he needs to be careful with someone like M’gann, who’s more of a sweet little bunny who gets really excited about things, like “Earth Cooking” and “Vending Machines.” The two of them don’t always understand Earth things, or customs, but they’re relieved that the other doesn’t, so they kind of come up with their own private jokes, and it’s really sweet. The great difference between the two is that: Conner is super confident a lot of the time, especially about who he is and where he’s going, but M’gann is exactly the opposite. Over time, he helps her uncover the things that matter most to her, and therefore helps her understand what sort of person she is and who she wants to become.
Conner and Kaldur. Naturally, Kaldur didn’t get close to anyone at first, but after that whole adventure… he and Conner have a very specific relationship. Ever see a cub or a kitten or a puppy trying to play with their mother’s ear or tail or something, but the mom’s just sitting there, looking tired? That’s kinda it. Kaldur finds Conner’s antics amusing, up until they become irresponsible, at which point he shifts into Mom Mode.™️ He and Tim kinda share the title of “Team Mom.” Or maybe one of them’s more like “Team Dad?” You decide. (If everyone starts acting irresponsibly, Kaldur is usually the last adult standing.) Point is, Kaldur is still a battle hardened warrior, and even though he’s learning how to be more expressive, he still thinks Conner can be a bit of a drama queen, and a little too… much… at times. They’re almost a little like Jack O’Niell and Teal’c from Stargate SG-1, if anyone’s seen. But they’re cool, Kaldur doesn’t ever get annoyed with Conner, he simply handles Conner.
In general, Kaldur still has a hard time getting really, really close with the others, mainly just having serious heart-to-hearts or observing their hobbies and interests, but if there was one person on the team I would say he’s close with, it’s Tim. Tim does his best to check in with him and be there for him, as the team’s leader, and they tend to have a lot of very long, very deep conversations. They often go back and forth about battle strategy, they share the title of “Team Mom” a lot, being the two most responsible members, they’re both smart, and they’re both depressed a lot.
(Lol, just had a thought. Kaldur and Steph = Tigress and Po from Kung Fu Panda 2. *Kaldur catches Steph and flips her back around as if she were made of paper* Steph: “Did you guys see that? It’s called being awesome.”)
Now, Steph is the most extroverted in the group. She’s the one who always breaks the ice, who has no problem jumping straight into the deep end, and is the most comfortable chillin’ with the guys. Cassie never really did the whole “hanging with the guys” thing growing up, it was mostly “all the neighbourhood kids or nothing,” so, like, sort of adjacent, but not quite the same thing. Then M’gann never really hung out with guys ever, so Steph is kinda alone on that one. She and Conner are a dangerous duo. They require at least two babysitters. Then, once Bart comes along (post memory wipe, that is) their duo of chaos becomes a trio. NEVER LEAVE THESE THREE ALONE EVER. Steph tries to get close to Kaldur, and tries to introduce him to certain fun things, but for a long while she just can’t understand why they aren’t clicking, and why he and Tim do it so easily. Then, she realises that what Kaldur values is genuine conversation and connection, which is harder for her, but they wind up sharing a few moments together that help them bond a bit more.
Now Bart. I saved him for last because it’s a little confusing having to talk about two different versions of him. Pre-memory wipe, Bart is afraid, anxious, and thinks like a little kid. Being trapped in a computer for a year tends to stunt you like that. So when he first arrives, after the NTT’s initial suspicion subsides, they kinda adopt him. He’s never had his own bedroom, or owned normal civilian clothes, or eaten anything besides rations, (bacon was an eye opener), so the team can’t help but feel bad for him, though Conner specifically tends to feel like he’s a little bit like dead weight at times during their journey through time, because he’s too afraid to actually do anything for much of it. Put simply, the main form of bonding that happens with them all on that adventure is: trauma bonding. But then, there’s post-memory wipe Bart. After the wipe, his personality changed. He still naturally feels disquieted and repelled by tech, but beyond that, he’s more cheerful, funny, always moving too fast for his own good, forgetful, but with a bit of an attitude when he feels like it. Especially when people give him “the look.” Something he noticed after the memory wipe. People who knew him before sometimes look at him like he’s a wounded puppy, and he hates it. This is what eventually leads him to want to regain his memories, but that’s a story for another time. Like mentioned earlier, he gets along a little too well with Conner and Stephanie—he can drive Tim up a wall with how much he doesn’t sit still, or listen, or just… do the thing he asked him to do twenty minutes ago! But Bart’s a good kid, Tim can’t stay frustrated with him forever. Kaldur has another child to reign in. Cassie takes on an almost “big sister” role for him, and M’gann loves testing out new Earth recipes on him, because he’ll eat anything.
Alright, I think that’s everyone. Please don’t hesitate to ask more questions! Always love getting to share!

!FNAF SL REDUX!
Character Profile #5 Funtime Freddy
The well known and not so well skilled magician of the Funtime crew, known for his enthusiasm and seemingly endless energy. Another main character in FNAF SL REDUX and I'm pretty sure a fan favorite character in the Fandom… so let's hope his fans like REDUX Ft. Freddy. 😔🙏
Funtime Freddy's original development idea was mostly to be a mockery of Henry and his Freddy bear, it would only become more original when he added bon bon to give Funtime Freddy a magician “pull a rabbit out of hat” vibe.
William Afton, the gayest straight man ever (he says he isn’t gay but he can’t be straight either) making an animatronic because your jealous of your partner's talent and success is very fruity of you.
Anyway, Funtime Freddy was the third Funtime animatronic made and the second most difficult to make. Quite a bit of Funtime Freddy's killer coding and abilities went unfinished, lacking a proper grabber to snag said target kid, and a lot of his killer code is unfinished leading to him being prone to errors. Like he has the killer cavity™️, but no claw, it's just a gaping maw.
When it comes to Funtime Freddy and entertaining children, he'll usually do a lot of different forms of simple magic tricks for the kids to watch. pulling a bon bon out of his hat, scarf pulling out of his sleeve, you know simple tricks like that. He tended to be favored by the far more energetic and amazed kids. They enjoy his magic tricks and loud, energetic voice.
When the Funtimes were put into the underground facility, in storage. Funtime Freddy was put into Funtime Auditorium with Funtime Foxy, once staff started showing up and the controlled shocks started being used he would flee to the breaker room. Now an unintentional roommate to Ballora he would try to not annoy Ballora too much, she really didn’t mind Freddy being in the breaker room but he felt like he was intruding.
Of course, like Ballora, Funtime Freddy would also be experimented on by Afton using Elizabeth's remnant. This experiment would affect his left eye, permanently dilating to be smaller than his other eye, as well as his voice box now having a permanent stutter that no amount of optimization can fix.
And like Ballora, he would also gain full sentience as well as other things…
When it comes to how Funtime Freddy acts, 9/10 he's left alone with his thoughts and only Bon Bon as company, that would lead to a lot of pondering and existentialism (that's what happens when you got a conscience and self awareness). As well as a lot of talking to himself and Bon Bon. Ballora was the best form of comfort Freddy would get for the whole duration of his time in the breaker room.
Funtime Freddy also had a tendency to hear things (It was mostly Liz, before he could see her) and that drove him a little stir crazy. This would also cause a lot of his killer code to take more of a hold over him (not fully don't worry). Which would lead to many hospitalizations because of him attacking staff, none ever died by Freddy's hands but they kinda wish they had.
Surprisingly this doesn't change his interactions with kids, still as energetic and lovable as before (Liz may have had a hand in making sure he doesn't hurt kids🤫)
Funtime Freddy did miss Foxy and would always be happy to perform with him when they were rented out together, despite all their fighting they do care about each other it's just complicated to outsiders looking in.
Moving on, Funtime Freddy was not informed fully about the plan just that they would become one, with that being said that means Funtime Freddy had no intention of keeping the technician alive.
Moving on to after the whole escape and CB being yeeted, since Ballora had fallen silent Funtime Freddy and Foxy took up the rains and the head of the amalgamation. It was far from an easy thing nor a cooperative one.
Funtime Freddy did find the world above very fascinating, but he didn't have time to explore it at first. His time being taken up by trying to find materials to rebuild their body and make it more functional. But once they had made the body functional enough to live in, he would begin to explore this world with wide starry eyes.
He would explore many places, and libraries became a must for him. He would find books and stories the most interesting, mostly about history. Weird nesh stuff like ‘human torture methods and executions’ (neither Ballora nor Foxy were fans), he would also do a lot of breaking and entering into places. (They broke into a McDonald's and played around in the play place, very worth it for Freddy not so worth it for Foxy.)
They remained largely in the shadows, mostly due to Freddy's skittishness towards adults, and Ballora’s inherent wariness of people period. So their interactions with people were stagnant, only having a few chance encounters with them by accident.
Meaning the Funtimes would all be local cryptids…
By the time of Fnaf 6s events, Funtime Freddy would be the most sporadic and unpredictable of the 3 funtimes, being most prone to attack without warning. While Ballora had more disdain and hatred towards CB, Freddy was more content just avoiding her all together. Obviously that wouldn't last, but it was his intention.
When it came to the truce with CB and setting their sights on Afton, Freddy would become the most violent and aggressive, as well as the most unpredictable to Mike. Ballora was more calculated in her aggression, while Freddy was more of the just jump at ‘em.
Funtime Freddy does still have bon bon to wrangle him in sometimes, but it's not as effective as it was before. Ballora is the one that is more likely to fully wrangle Freddy in, so he doesn't do anything too reckless.
He wouldn't take Afton's attempt at escape nor the fire sitting down, attempting to break out of the death trap labyrinth he found himself in. Chasing after Afton and getting a couple hits in (you go you three) and fights tooth and nail to break out of the labyrinth, before giving up due to their barely held together body.
Of course just like CB and Ballora, the fire would not be the end of Funtime Freddy. Having his AI put into the Employee Virtual Training Program.
Fred, HW 2 Funtime Freddy
Had about the same reaction as Ballora, being back in the breaker room and thinking ‘is this hell?! Did I somehow go to hell?!’. But having Bon bon back made all his fears melt away. Discovering the others later made everything even better, they were together again. One big happy family. His violence towards staff didn’t change though, he still doesn’t like anyone that appears in the breaker-room. (some things never change)
Gonna quickly talk about Bon bon, not that there isn't a lot to talk about, it's just that Freddy and Bon Bon go hand in hand and there is only so much I can talk about with Bon Bon specifically.
Before Funtime Freddy was able to see Liz, Bon Bon was able to see her and ended up helping her investigate the facility. He would also sometimes search on her own time, in hopes of helping get themself and the others out.
The end…
Onto the AR skins…
(Note: this skin is specific to this Au and does not exist in Canon FNAF material)
Scarecrow Freddy (Scarecrow)
Intimidating on the outside, but a rather positive and jolly fellow once you get to know him. He was released during the Halloween event (all the other funtimes were released during the Dark Circus event in this au). Has many bugs crawling around and in his body, he's named all of them.
And that is the end of Funtime Freddy's character profile

Alright girls, guys, and gays - welcome to...
A Newby's Guide to the Marauders Fandom
You keep seeing your mutuals post about this Harry-Potter-adjacent fandom. It seems cool, and pretty damn gay, and you're kinda curious to know more. Except there's one problem: there is little-to-no actual canon.
How do you get into a fandom with little-to-no canon material?
Well friends, I'm here to help! Consider this post your roadmap to the fandom - useful locations are noted, major landmarks and tourist destinations are starred, and recommended routes are highlighted.
But where you actually go is up to you.
Level 1: The Basics
If you're the freshest of fresh meat to this fandom, you may like to start with a nice little overview of our chaos-fanon. Here are some YouTube videos that give you a good tl;dr:
a deep dive into the marauders fandom by uncarley (YouTube video, general topic, no major content warnings) - this is a great starter video, especially if you're not a fandom person usually. It's digestible, fun, and not too lore-heavy.
The Marauders Era Fandom Deep Dive! by Coffeekoe (YouTube video, general topic, no major content warnings) - alternatively (or in addition), this is another great starter video, but possibly more from a fandom-familiar perspective. Also Coffeekoe just has great vibes and I want to kiss them on the forehead. Mwuah mwuah mwuah.
Marauders Era Ships Deep Dive! by Coffeekoe (YouTube video, several different ships, no major content warnings) - after you've got the gist of how the fandom works, you might want to know a bit more about the common Marauders ships. This video gives an awesome (and comprehensive) overview.
Level 2: The Canon in the Fanon
You're going to have a pretty tough time in the fandom if you're not at least somewhat familiar with The Fanfic™️, All the Young Dudes. This fic is as highly revered (if not more so) than the real actual canon text (obligatory fuck JKR).
First off let's understand what it is.
All the Young Dudes is a long-form fanfiction written by MsKingBean89 and published on Archive of Our Own. And when I say long-form, I mean long-form - this thing is a monstrous 188 (chunky) chapters long. It spans from 1971, when the Marauders start their first year at Hogwarts, until 1995, when Remus dies. Speaking of which, it's also canon-compliant, so I'll save you some heartache and tell you right now that all of the characters die in pretty tragic ways. I'm not going to lie to you, it's a pretty heavy story - there are strong themes of child abuse, homophobia, underage drinking/smoking, drug abuse, abusive relationships, and trauma. BUT. I really enjoyed it and have read it twice now, simply because the happy bits are worth the painful bits.
With all of that in mind, here are (my recommendations for) your options for acquiring your ATYD education:
All The Young Dudes Deep Dive! by Coffeekoe (YouTube video, ATYD, some light discussion of triggering topics mentioned above, spoiler heavy!!!) - yep that's right, it's Coffeekoe again. Mwuah mwuah mwuah. This video is a super duper great alternative to reading ATYD, or a great way to dip your toe in and see if you want to commit to reading it in full. Obviously it's spoiler heavy, so if you already know you want to read ATYD and spoilers bug you, just skip it.
All the Young Dudes by MsKingBean89 (AO3 fic, mostly Wolfstar, triggers as mentioned above) - here's just a straight up link to the fic. You may need an account on AO3 to access it.
All the Young Dudes by BIBLIOBIBULI (YouTube, same as above) - if you're like me and love the idea of reading a long-fic, but don't actually have the time/energy/patience/stamina to do it, an audiobook might be the way to go! This one is great, and complete. You're welcome 🫶
Level 3: Fics of Note
Okay! By now, you should have received your official Marauders Fandom Certification in the mail (or, I guess, via owl), and you're pretty much free to go and explore the fandom on your own. You may, however, still come across references that confuse you. Those (probably) come from one of the many, many, many popular fics in the fandom.
Here's just a few of the major ones and links to them, for your convenience (asterisks indicate fics that require an account to access):
NOTE: This is not a rec list. Approach with caution and read all the tags.
Crimson Rivers by bizarrestars*
Just Lovers (Like We Were Supposed To Be) by bizarrestars*
Best Friend's Brother by bizarrestars*
Choices by MesserMoon
Kill Your Darlings by MesserMoon
All the Young Dudes - Sirius's Perspective by Rollercoasterwords
The Cadence Of Part-Time Poets by motswolo
Art Heist, Baby! by otrtbs
Only the Brave by Solmussa*
Level 4: You're On Your Own, Kid
You're still here? Why are you still here? You should be out there, enjoying your newly acquired fandom!
Fine, one last piece of advice and then you really have to leave:
Engage.
This fandom is unique because it is the weird, Frankenstein's-Monster-esque lovechild of thousands of strange little obsessive gremlin people like you and me. Sure, it only has one eye and far too many nipples, but who cares? We made this and we love it. And it's your job, as someone in the fandom, to keep it alive by engaging. Yes, this is true for every fandom, but even more so here. Comment, reblog, share, recommend fics, ask for fic recs. Fuck it, create too - write, draw, share headcanons, make playlists. It doesn't matter if it's "bad" or "wrong", there aren't any fucking rules.
Add another nipple, by all means! Eyes are overrated anyway.

oli is a wanderer. he’s carefree, on the move, untethered, and he can even mostly pretend he doesn’t miss a home he’s never had. a chance hitchhike introduces him to a strange-but-handsome driver who goes only by pix, and oli buckles up for the latest in a long string of short-term companionship.
pix is like oli: he has no roots and no reason to stay. oli likes that in a man, almost as much as the greying ponytail, wry sense of humour, and air of mystery. but what he intends to be a brief and beautiful summer fling turns into something much deeper when pix’s secrets unravel a thread between oli’s recurring dreams of home and the nightmare haunting them both.
this fic is 10k of roadtrip horror aro4aro love story that can be easily read fandom blind. it’s the best thing i’ve written in a year. if you’re looking for those Hoorayy Fic Vibes™️ you will find them here. happy olipix forever
#empires smp#empires season 2#empiresshipping#olipix#theorionsound#pixlriffs#HOORAYY WRITING FANS. PLS CONSIDER THIS FIC.#i know it is not the usual blorbos but i beg of you to consider it for The Vibes Alone

Hey Mochi! Sorry if I already asked, but do your ocs like wearing accessories? If so, what kind? :3
(I wanna hoping to draw acessorie fanart for them if thats ok!!)
(That’s okay with me 😩👍 Also going on a limb and assuming this is just about the boys.)
ERMM UHH… KINDA!
At least if I go by “accessories” in it’s more broad definition rather than just referring to jewelry (cuz if that was the case, only one guy would be wearing it.)
First context! I’m just gonna answer based on what I’ve drawn. Warning: No pictures just boring wall of text.
Emilio is a weird case. Like, in theory I would think he would be more accessorized, but he really hasn’t been. Not really. Call it a failure on my part because I simply haven’t explored this far visually, or on purpose for chArAcTer reAsOns. Aside from his showy boots, he doesn’t really do much in terms of accessorizing what he wears.
Out-of-uniform he seems to have a fondness for scarves. That counts as an accessory. But, as of right now I just have yet to experiment much, and even then, I don’t imagine straying too far from that. But, we’ll see.
The closest accessory wear that Cecil even has are just fingerless gloves— and when out-of-uniform he has a fanny pack. I think the most I would do if I had to explore accessorizing with Cecil would be expanding on gloves and, crap attached to belts.
Either way, he’s not much of an accessorize-ing type either.., but he does a little. Not enough to be adventurous, though, just enough to allude to being off the beaten path. Just…not enough to commit further.
Then there’s Nyoka who has… many hair thingies and trinkets, some weird chain linked to his glasses that’s attached to one of his diamond earrings. Least of all that other ear…thingy that’s shaped like a snake.
Then out-of-uniform it’s all of the above + this collar thing, pendants, rings, fancy watch, and sometimes bracelets. But TO BE FAIR— this is on purpose, he’s wealthy and this is just a shorthand means to show that off. His family has ties to gold n’ minerals, of course he’s wearing it. He’s just more ornate in general, it’s just his thing.
So TBH!!! At least based on all that? I guess that doesn’t really answer a definitive yes or no at all. Though, maybe none of this actually matters.
BECAUSE HEY! they’re meant to be twst boys, and regardless of what logically makes sense for a character in-universe— normal twst boys are going to be thrown in over-the-top highly accessorized, and improbable runway stuff anyway for that sweet VIEWERBASE….!!
I’m just y’know. By myself. And also they’re not in a VN with gacha mechanics, they’re in scattered drawings and mostly unpublished writings (latter of which even if they were published, only a small fraction of the art-viewers would even willingly look at.)
Anything I end up doing is just to convey an idea or a vibe since I’m considered the source™️, so doing any “for the lulz” experimentation isn’t much of a priority. Otherwise, a message I want to present might be compromised. I don’t really have the benefit of a VN everyone reads as a buffer to give context to justify why a stuffy-rule-stickler is suddenly wearing short-shorts and a halter top.
SO HONESTLY YOU COULD IGNORE ALL THIS AND MAKE UP WHATEVER, BYE
#cozy ask#twstposting#I know I don’t have visual examples at all but.#I do have words.#‘but cozy u can do whatever u want-‘ NOT WHEN IM TRYING TO ESTABLISH A CLEAR DIGESTIBLE CONCEPT

Okay so. I have so many people to respond to and I promise I will, just not tonight. I wanted to give a quick update about the ritual below the cut (because I know some people like going in not knowing the setlist.) Again, typing this all on my phone so my apologies for heavy typos and any incoherence.
As a preface I just got back to my hotel, showered quickly, absolutely fucking sobbed in the shower for like two minutes, and I’m now eating uncle ben’s ready rice straight out of the bag because I don't have a fork or spoon. If that doesn’t scream hot mess idk what would.
First things first: the security/staff at Arizona Financial Theatre are all amazing. Literal fucking angels. Two of them hung out with us in line all day, letting us go inside to use the bathroom and refill water bottles and the guys at the barricade were so friendly and chatty and also handed out water. Literally everyone was so helpful and friendly and nice and they deserve all the good things in life.
Second: Empire State Bastard really wasn’t clicking with me until I saw them live. They’re an absolute vibe live plus the drummer and bassist are both babes. The band were constantly thanking us for showing up early and listening to them (tbh the venue was only half full until about 10 minutes before Sleep Token went on). Literally seemed like such humble and chill dudes.
Third!!! I almost don’t even know what to say about Sleep Token. There’s sooo much I could literally rant for hours but I also need to sleep so I can drive to Albuquerque in the morning. I recorded 5ish songs I think? Mostly the TPWBYT songs but I did get the summoning too. No idea if the footage is any good but we’ll see tomorrow. I made it a point not to have my phone out after finding out the setlist because there was no way in hell I was missing TNDNBTG live while on barricade. Maybe I should preface this next bit with I one hundred thousand present realize this sounds delusional of me, but everyone on the barricade had their phones out and Vessel fucking focused on me because of it. He was singing one of my favorite sleep token songs directly to me! There’s literally nowhere else he could have been looking! he was on the edge of the stage looking straight down at me and we were pointing at each other and I’m fucking dying reliving it because I was singing so horribly and cringy back at him. Like I’m so sorry vessel but my life was changing in that moment. I became a new woman the second you pointed at me.
I kept my phone away for the first several songs tbh and he kept coming back to stand in front of me but never made such heavy eye/mask contact (until Euclid). I actually almost feel like I disappointed him when I did pull my phone out to start recording because he practically avoided me after that. its actually why I decided not to record Euclid, though I knew it was coming and it was the song’s debut. AND IT FUCKING WORKED!! He came back around and was singing to me again, same stance, same obvious eye contact except this time I was literally Ugly Crying™️ at him. Tears were streaming, I had one hand holding onto the barricade for dear life, and the other clamped tightly around my mouth ugly crying. Even my buddies and the security were concerned that’s how bad it was.
In all honesty I can’t pretend that it wasn’t “scripted” like the band hadn’t planned every move on stage beforehand. They first and foremost are performers and Vessel literally sings to every girl on the barricade right in front of him. But it also felt so special and I feel so bad for breaking down like I did 😅🤣😭😫🫠
Okay I need to stop ranting, I’ve been up for 20 hours and this is most likely incoherent anyway. I love all of you and I hope everyone who’s able to get barricade this tour gets to experience the same thing I did🖤🖤🖤

SHENANIGANS: where Mai gives headcanons to the Voices in your Head ™️ based purely off vibes.
This episode: The voices at bedtime!
((I know some of you need to go to bed, so consider this a call-out/jk. Anyway, get your plushies some water, we're tucking our lil voices in for bed!!

Voice of the HERO: rarely sleeps late, Hero falls asleep fast. With the exception of some emergencies, Hero will go to bed at a reasonable 10-11 PM. She is also a fast sleeper, as well. However, if something happens, she is the first to wake up and check it out. Her spears makes her ideal to deal with home intruders (not that they had any...;3)
Voice of the PARANOID: He TRIES to sleep early at around 9 PM, so she has the time to stew in bed to let the energy out. That backfires as they spent so so SO long worrying about every shadow and creek in the night that actual sleep time is around 12 to 3 AM. And that's not including the nightmares. Often, you find em making something in the kitchen to try and burn off the energy. It works roughly 50%. Then it's off to Hero to share a bed.
Voice of the SMITTEN: he ALSO sleeps at a reasonable time at 10:30 PM. It would be earlier, if not for his meticulous grooming ritual. He takes his time getting ready for slumber. And Long Quiet forbid you interrupt him, mid ritual. There are few things the Voices share a fear in. One of them is a Smitten who couldn't finish his 1000 stroke brushing routine.
Voice of the COLD: man wears a bathrobe, so everywhere is his sleeping spot. He sleeps whenever he feels like it, going for days, pushing his physical body's limits until those limits are reached and he crashes somewhere. And when he wakes, he documents the result and push it more. So far, his record for staying awake is 12 days. And that was cut off because Hero had to step in. Thankfully, when he crashes, he's light enough to be carried to his room.
Voice of the SKEPTIC: As if he's any better than Cold. If he finds something to sink his claws into, he will stay up studying it for days at a time. The only difference is that he knows his limit and is out like a light. And I mean OUT. You ain't waking him up until at least 7 hours. It got to the point where Hero has banned late night books just so She didn't had to deal with 2 chronic stay-awakers.
Voice of the CHEATED: she sleeps a little later, mainly due to waiting for the drugs to kick in and some evening workout so she doesn't wake up with sore limbs. She will always be out by Midnight, and will stay down until morning. Despite her aching bones, her body LOVES to move during the night, so she has to crash fast. As a result, the only time you are waking her is at minimum 5 hours later. She doesn't like sleeping alone, as it often caused her nightmares, so Broken is always with her.
Voice of the BROKEN: ironically, a night owl. She sleeps the latest, roughly around 2 AM. so she and Paranoid have a lot of kitchen talks. Granted, this is mostly because she spent a lot of her day "sleeping" in the Networked Wild, so her circadian rhythm is off kilter. Attempts to fix it have proven fruitless, so they just accepted it. Plus, it's not like she's any worse at night, than during the day.
Voice of the OPPORTUNIST: whether with Thorn, or another voice (coughstubborncough), Oppy sleeps better with company. His nightmares aren't frequent, but they aren't infrequent either. So he often seeks solace in another body, at the dead of 1-2 AM. When he can't find anyone, he sleeps with a knife under his pillow. Many have complained about it, but it's not his fault he finds comfort in it. "Steel can't lie" as Paranoid once said.
Voice of the STUBBORN: he sleeps normally. I don't know what to tell you here. Aside from some pre-sleep work out, he sleeps fine. Though, in the night, he's susceptible to cramps easily so he is often rudely awakened to take care of it....oh and he sleep fights. His room is away from most other Voices because the noise he makes are Loud. Sometimes literally, if he somehow turn on his radio for some scene-appropriate training music. When awake, he recalls none of it, but will agree to cleaning up the best.
Voice of the HUNTED: while incredibly comfortable sleeping in a nest, he is the lightest sleeper, outside of Hero. He usually wakes up first to any commotion, but if Hero is up, he takes it as a sign of things being cared for and go back to sleep. He always offer them to sleep in his nest ("so the flock can be safe" he reasoned), but few took up on his offers, unless the nightmares are THAT bad. His nest is always big to accommodate all of em.
Voice of the CONTRARIAN: She makes a big deal about going to bed around 9 PM, showing signs of fatigue around that time. But when it is time to actually sleep, she waits in her room, until everyone is out cold (or the Night Owls were in another part of the house), before exiting the house and exploring. Sometimes she visits the Princess's cabin and screw with them. But most of the time she visits the Outside World, and get her hands on all she could find, before slipping back into bed, with a Gameboy or smth. No matter how little sleep she gets, Connie will be bright and loud in the morning, much to most everyone's dismay.
BONUS: The voices sleepwear!!
Wears a shirt and shorts: Hero, Cheated, Connie, Oppy
Proper sleep robes/pajamas: Cold, Smitten, Skeptic
Wears what they have: Broken, Hunted, Paranoid
Sleeps in the nude: Stubborn

https://x.com/ergoquerencia/status/1863840184971702530?s=46 this is why I believe Eddie nde cause the way Oliver is talking and Tim is talking Tim said Eddie is just considering going to El Paso and that he will have issues with it still they don’t have access yet to Gavin so is obvious Eddie is not going to Texas and the way they are hinting legal battle I’m like huh ??? And the way Oliver says Buck will really suffer like I just get the vibe Eddie getting hurt because we all know Eddie is not leaving they can’t really do that yet cause Gavin so what else can they push with that plot and being able to use the Diazes parents and I’m like Buck last season didn’t suffer mostly when Bobby was hurt and I think they don’t want to keep hurting Buck so what else would make him upset and have plots when his only open plot is literally buddie so Buck best next thing is the custody fight and realizing ohh it’s Eddie
Good point nonny. The NEXT BEST PLOT… other than BUDDIE is the fight for Christopher and the Will™️ coming back around.

I totally love ur interpretation of alphas smelling kinda nasty it's not my thing but it's very cool and fun!!! (Pls share where you disagree with me I love hearing other opinions)
For some reason to me, omega! Price is fresh baked bread. Like it just seems correct to me idk why
Beta! Price is herbal. Maybe w some very slight powdery notes. But mostly like tea and old books. The smell is on the warmer side even tho I tend to see beta scents as more... cold? If that makes any sense
Alpha! Price is either a sharp, pine scent. Like a Christmas tree farm. OOOOOR this really yummy perfume I have called Jazz Club by replica. It's such a good scent and I feel like either price or ghost fit the vibe of it.
-🔪
Interesting!!! Also Pine Price? Yes yes??!??! 🫵🫵🫵
(I will be highjacking this to post my own hcs!)
(UPDATED) The 141's Scents in an A/B/O AU: Depending on Presentation
Follow-up on these two posts:
As a reminder, these two posts follow a theory of mine that:
Alphas smell so strong and overpowering, bordering on just smelling Bad™️;
Betas smell natural and comforting (average, no major complaints);
Omegas smell sickly sweet and so overwhelming it could make someone ill.
Johnny
Omega Johnny smells like the syrup that surrounds and preserves canned fruit. Canned peaches especially.
Beta Johnny smells like the sea. Salt water, seaweed… that kind of thing.
Alpha Johnny smells like shoe shiner, or another product like that. Maybe wet paint or varnish?
Kyle
Omega Kyle smells like something warm and cosy and gooey that melts in your mouth. My brain is saying honey or honeycomb, caramel or toffee maybe?.
Beta Kyle smells like freshly cut grass, and ivy. Especially when the freshly cut grass is damp too.
Alpha Kyle smells like nearly vinegary and acidic. The best way I can say it is... strong wine that has just started fermenting.
Simon
Omega Simon smells like talc/baby powder. Makes you wanna bury your face in him and sniff like you do to a newborn baby.
Beta Simon smells like old books with yellowed pages. Not necessarily musty or bad.
Alpha Simon smells of black pepper.
ALTERNATIVELY:
Omega Ghost wears scent blockers. You'd never know what he smells like because he doesn't let you. (It's vanilla sugar)
Beta Ghost smells of freshly carved wood furniture, unfinished and unvarnished, still full of splinters and rough edges.
Alpha Ghost smells strongly of burning. Like a campfire, a forest fire, maybe gasoline or sulphur.
John
Omega John smells like lemon merengue. Sickly sweet and tangy at once, with a softness that melts in your mouth.
Beta John smells like a forest, maybe a rain forest, but I could also see him smell of pine and very obviously so. But the kind of pine that people sometimes mistake for mint?
Alpha John smells like rusted iron and dirt... Which a lot of people confuse with fresh blood. Especially when he's angry and his scent mutates.

Bucktommy rwrb au?
Do not shoot me but I haven't seen or read rwrb 🫣 so I'm coming up with this purely based off Vibes™️
Thomas Kinard is the son of the President of the United States of America, and a complete failure in the eyes of his father. He is sent to the United Kingdom to be the USA's representative at the wedding of Princess Madeline Buckley, mostly so his father can get him out of his hair for a while.
The day before the wedding, Tommy meets Prince Evan Buckley, the disgraced youngest son of the King and Queen. Tommy's first introduction with the young Prince does not go well, as he views Evan to be quite pretentious and naive. He tasks his bodyguard, Eddie Diaz, with finding out as much about the Buckley family as possible.
Before Eddie can report back, Tommy and Evan find themselves alone in the library together. Evan seems far less uptight now that's he's not around his parents, and eagerly asks Tommy about the United States. His enthusiasm is adorable and Tommy finds himself softening towards the young Prince.
Tommy and Evan find one another at the wedding and end up hooking up in an empty room. Someone photographs them exiting the room, disheveled and clearly post-fuck, and its in the papers the next morning. Tommy's father calls in a fury, telling his son to fix it before he comes home. Tommy find a distraught Evan, who's parents have threatened to disown him, and tries to calm him down. Eddie has explained the Buckley family sceret to Tommy so he understands Evan's fear. He suggests they put on a front as partners so Evan can come to the USA and escape his parents.
Tommy and Evan make a public announcement a day later, announcing their "relationship" to the world. Evan comes back to the USA with Tommy and Tommy begins to show Evan around the country, watching as Evan finds his freedom. They continue to fake date, just for appearances initially, but as their friendship grows, Tommy realises he's falling for the guy. He finally works up the courage and asks Evan out when they're on top of the Empire State Building in New York City.

curious about your favorite underrated artists/fic writers/creatives on here?? and maybe your specific favourite underrated fanwork??
Ooh. I love this question so much, anon ❤️
Underrated gif maker, and I say this with no bias, is definitely Ida @bizarrelittlemew because she just puts in so much effort in all her gifs. Ida looks through tutorials and then also does so much on their own, but mainly: if you look at all the recent gifs, they have such a unique Ida ™️ vibe to them. From rotoscoping (still don't know what that is) to playing with blending, Ida deserves to be right up there with one of the most creative gifmakers this fandom has produced recently.
Unfortunately I just very very rarely hang out reading ofmd fics T-T (I'm mostly in the hobbit and sandman fandom side of ao3) and there are a few writers I love and I tend to stick to them (xoxoemynn, forpiratereasons being the main ones) Most of what I read and like in the fandom is when a mutual ends up writing something that isn't modern au.
Having said that, underrated writer to me 100% is @palavapeite because their writing just never fails to transport me to whatever setting they're talking about. Listen, I just don't read modern AUs, they don't do it for me (def a me issue, I'm sure there are brilliant modern au writers in this fandom but it's something I filter out) but I would absolutely recommend this fic as something that brought me so so much joy, is fast becoming my more reread fic, because it did a perfect job with getting Stede's voice right. I can hear every single thing he says in my mind, it's SO good. Also their fic with priest!stede lives rent free in my head and I would soon find the time to read their non blackbonnet fics.
Another one is adamarks who, again, has such a good grasp on Ed and Stede's character that it doesn't matter which AU Jay has picked, it just always always works somehow. My favourite is this fic tho which is just so them that I might as well weep.
For artists, my recent faves (and I think they're underrated) are Lilo @harrylovesspaezle who's so so talented and I still can't get over that sketchbook tour - the growth and love for this show ough, @ofmderapolag whose pieces are just so so dreamy, and also @spookynadja whose style just floors me every single time.
I'd also like to shout out one underrated category, people who write such amazing text posts like @ourfag who obviously has the s3 scripts and is only sharing them with us in small increments due to the nda and @tulipseason for the currently unpublished book of "1 million ways I will articulate how much I love hit television show our flag means death"
and then there's my favourite most beloved cheerleaders who are always lifting up new writers and artists too like @marbledwings and @insteading ❤️ I especially love that everyone has a beautiful story with these two, you could ask any small or big writer in the fandom if they've been made to cry by wings or insteading and yeah, they're just lovely.

I too have got Opinions trademark™️ on Fennah
he's....hmn.
im not sure i think he's a bad person to any degree, as ive said about many ppl i can't make that assessment, i dont know him, and he barely engages enough online for me to base an opinion on that
but he seems to be extremely resistant to accepting any kind of criticism on his work and he's the worst case of "cant kill his darlings" ive ever seen- he has an idea and he's gonna put it in his work and he's gonna refuse to change that
and like, in a lot of ways i think thats a plenty good thing
i think that kind of confidence in your work is good, too many artists feel like dogshit about their art all the goddamn time, including myself
but it really does hurt the quality of his work a lot
and while he's not vocal about his politics to any degree as far as i can tell (outside of his work itself), and he clearly Seems to lean left/liberal, he has a very "Centrist is Smartest" vibe to me, which personally makes me wary though again, doesnt make me think he's Horrible, mostly just a bit irritating
im charmed by a lot of his work, i like this unique style of animation that has this interesting quirk of being incredibly Over animated, but which adds to the kind of unsettling vibe that i think he's aiming for
i like his weird fuckin critters
i have his book, though i havent been assed to read it yet
i have a soft spot for edgelord characters so lucy in all her teehee murderclown menace vibes is fairly endearing to me
and he fits in a similar niche to vizzypop (who i have....less kind opinions about) to me where while i have a lot of criticism for them i also do think its kind of neat seeing some get some kind of success from their weird little internet projects
i find something to respect in an artist who refuses to make concessions on their art and still manages to scrape up some kind of success out of that
but also, shrugs, he just seems like kind of an ass
i suppose my Opinions:tm: are strong, but also boil down to "like. he's okay? he's Okay. i like some of his stuff but his vibes are bad."

Hope you're having a good friday! Anything you wanna ramble about, I am all ears/interested
I am! I ended up doing a very long walk with the puppy and found fire spinners and it was very exciting and apparently they meet ever two weeks so I might get back into fire spinning??? They seemed safe enough (though they only sometimes had a like fire blanket around???) but also seemed like a good thing to train the dog to be chill about (she didn't super care about the fire but did care about being pet, the most exciting thing of all)
I thought about rambling about switch announcement stuff but tbh I am tired already by games discourse cause I had a 3 hour straight meeting about thinking about game industry trends stuff today so AHHHHHHHHH
So instead I am going to think about how ENA: dream BBQ is a very neat game that is free and has some of the coolest stuff I've seen in a long time in terms of animation. And it's free! I'd never heard about it until someone I know played it; they're making a game about dancing and so is like playing every game they can think of that involves dance, but like the embodiment of dance? I find it a deeply fascinating series of games this person has been playing because they're all over the place, the last one they played was jet set radio
And I think right now I've been thinking a lot about dancing, both because I've been enjoying drawing it, conspiring it as a game mechanic, and sitting in calls a bunch talking to this person about it. I'm not good at dancing nor have any rhythm so it's such an interesting concept to me; I tried playing melatonin a long time ago and was terrible at it. Can't play rhythm games at all lololol
But I might draw monsters dancing for them for the next quarterly zine, I haven't been doing much game thoughts writing for it but did have many conversations about katabasis game with folks
Which I don't think I'll get this application in on the 7th which is sad but also the timing is weird with other stuff, might chat with other folks about it, but have been struggling with too many ideas and not enough like... linearly laying out a story. I've been struggling to convey an overarching narrative which makes it difficult to explain to folks. Vibes, tragedy, monsters sometimes in love sometimes murder each other? Everyone I talk to about it tho seems to think the idea is neat, though I largely interact with Sickos™️ be it games or art or monsters so I dunno how the wider everyone would think of it lololol
So I aiming for August deadline instead, it's kind of hard to conceptualize the future rn just like... generally. Focused on other stuff this week so I didn't quite get everything I wanted done so I didn't fully complete a GDD, though I did mostly finish a pitch deck??? Made a budget and a timeline and general market analysis and spent a bunch of time talking to people about how to do those though I didn't stream today for it because like... 3 hour straight meeting brain
Which is all neato- I'm glad a bunch of it got done even if I'm frustrated I couldn't get it all done. But I'd rather a more fully cooked idea comes out of it over applying for something, getting rejected, and then feeling discouraged. Rather be rejected for something I think is well researched and developed
Like 80% is done and that's the hardest bit I find, getting to the mostly done stage of a project cause it's all the scary final bits where you like... have to show it to people and admit it's like A Thing That's Ready To Be Looked At
That's my thought ramble, a bunch of neat stuff happened that I don't know is like worth talking publicly about because tbh alot of public discourse on game dev stuff is spooky to me beyond teaching resources and helping folks learn how to make games
WHICH FOLKS SHOULD, I think everyone should try and make a game and have fun doing silly things
(I hope you are having a nice Friday)
