Dom Scorpion x Sub Quan Chi’s daughter Reader SFW and NSFW! I believe Scorpion might have become the new ruler of the Netherrealm by Snowblind, hence he might take S/O as his queen. Not much of a fighter, but wise politically and emotionally, S/O helps him rule politically, teaching him about Netherrealm and also still being kind, sweet, and supportive to him. She always feels bad bc she thought he might be better reunited with his family than her, but he assures her he loves her.

A/N: I hope this is what you asked, since what happened to Scorpion and Sub-Zero during Snow Blind is only hinted at in the movie and behind the scenes. So I had to take some liberties and fill in the gaps.

King and Queen

With your father killed by Scorpion’s hands, Shao Khan felled by Lui Kang, and Lord Shinnok indisposed, there was no one to manage the Netherrealm’s damned souls or its inhabitants.

You naively thought that because of your father’s position as Shinnok’s High Priest and the Revenants loose upon Earthrealm, Netherrealm’s denizens would accept your authority. But you were so wrong.

Half of the Brotherhood of Shadow thought you unworthy. Noob Saibot thought you were weak and didn’t have the ruthlessness required to rule Hell. However, he wanted your power and your knowledge about the realm. So, to have all that and strengthen his claim to Netherealm’s seat of power, Bi-han planned to make you his bride. You refused, so you ran to a part of the Netherrealm he couldn’t follow.

However, the other half of the Brotherhood of Shadow, which included demons such as Sareena, Jia, and Jataaka, believed you to be the rightful ruler of Outworld. As a result, factions were formed, and a Civil war—not seen since Shinnok usurped Lucifer—broke out in the Netherrealm.

You were not a fighter, yet your magical prowess and abilities were immense. If Sareena were to be believed, they could become strong enough to rival even Shinnok. Yet, it couldn't always be relied upon should you tire or your Shamisen should break too.

However, what you may lack in brute strength compared to Noob Siabot, you made up for with your strategies. Your war with the Spectre was at a standstill as both gained and lost territory or allies. Strategic decisions became more burdensome for you, as you didn’t want to unnecessarily send anyone off to die, especially when they’re demons that have supported and guided you for the majority of your life. You weren’t as heartless as Quan-chi.

The War wasn’t going in your favor after Noob Saibot made a deal with Havik, the Cleric of Chaos, and gained more allies from Chaosrealm. Your allies were nearly overrun and cornered, you were about to be killed, and Bi-han's victory seemed at hand.

Then, descending into the Netherrealm from a portal like some Angel of Justice, was Hanzo Hasashi, Scorpion! Who wasted no time in sending his kunai through Bi-han's chest and ripping him off you. You then transformed into your more demonic form and joined Scorpion in his fight against the former Lin Kuei. You managed to injure the Spectre enough for him to retreat with his forces.

In the aftermath, you offered Scorpion a brief reprieve within your secret base. Despite initial reluctance, the wraith relented upon your earnest insistence and hearing about your goal to keep Noob Siabot off Netherrealm’s throne to keep more Revenants from reaching Earthrealm. A goal that you will learn Scorpion shares with you.

Taking a page out of Noob Saibot’s book, you allied yourself with Scorpion. The Wraith will ensure that you’re put in charge of the Netherrealm and end Noob, so long as your intentions to keep the Revenants contained proved true. You then sealed this bargain with Scorpion with your soul, ensuring you’d be on the chopping block if you broke your promise. This sincerity took the Wraith aback, and nonetheless, he agreed.

Your decision to work with Scorpion has been very sagacious. In life, Scorpion was Grandmaster of the Shirai Ryu for a good reason, as his tactics helped change the tide of war. He proved to be more of a commanding General than you, as he was steadfast and confident in his decisions. Soon enough, he was able to whip your fellow demons into a more strategic fighting force that you didn’t think was possible.

Between each battle, you learn more about the soul of the man within Scorpion. For one, you finally learned his name to be Hanzo Hasashi. You sometimes asked him about Earthrealm, what it’s like to have lived in a world with a sky, oceans, and people who care for you beyond what you can do for them. Expressing your desire to experience it all.

Hanzo barely answered you at first, but the more he saw your love for your people, your unwavering determination to show kindness to those you consider allies, your reminders to your allies to rest and eat when they can, and just how much you are NOT like your father, the more it helped the Wraith open up to you. He told you about his mountain village, clan, and family. Scorpion also told you about the new Sub-Zero, an honorable man once an enemy but then a close ally. So much so that Scorpion gave the former Lin Kuei Grandmaster one of his kunai to summon him in case Kuai Liang should use his Cryomancy again. When you asked what would happen should the Cryomancer use his magic again, your companion told you that Kuai Liang would live out the rest of his days in the Netherrealm, and he would be the one to take him there.

When Scorpion revealed to you that it was your father who killed his clan, wife, and son, which he described to you in great detail, you cried for Scorpion, no, HANZO’S loss and apologized through tears for your father’s cruelty, as you didn’t know. An act that convinced Scorpion that you were being honest. Scorpion’s belief in you was sealed when you offered your life in repentance.

Rather than taking your life, despite a part of him WANTING to, Scorpion offers to take your throne instead, which you accept. Hanzo brushes back a loose hair behind your ear as he promises to restore order within the Netherrealm and keep the Revenants contained. You hug him in response, which Hanzo slowly and stiffly returns. You savored your first-ever hug, not knowing of the inner turmoil that threatened to make the Wraith cry.

During the final battle, you finally broke Noob Saibot’s defenses and were able to storm Quan-chi’s former fortress. The Battle was chaos; the screams of your comrades and the sounds of blades rendering flesh to ribbons threatened to deafen you. Yet, you and Scorpion had a plan. You would keep Havik and Noob’s army occupied with your frontal assault while Scorpion goes up Quan-chi’s fortress through a long-forgotten pathway to kill the Lin Kuei’s former Grandmaster.

When the two Spectre confronted one another, their combat became so intense that the collateral from Quan-chi's floating fortress threatened to wipe out both armies. Unfortunately for Bi-Han, the falling debris fell atop Havik and his fellow Chaosrealmers. Crushing them to death.

After addressing the most significant threats, you left Sareena to command the remainder of your army before teleporting to your former childhood home. When you arrived, you spotted that Hanzo and Bi-Han were on their hands and knees, and the entire throne room was demolished from their fight. You used your abilities to silence your footsteps as you walked from behind Scorpion, whose insides barely stayed inside him. Seeing the man you called your friend hardened your resolve for what you must do, even if you fully don't know if you have the power to do it. You had to try.

Hanzo finally noticed you and tried to ask what you were doing, although the only thing that came out of him was a wet cough. It didn't anyway, as with a snap of your fingers, Hanzo couldn't hear anything, including his heartbeat. What was going on? What were you doing?

You purposefully ensured Hanzo couldn't hear a thing to protect him from what you were about to do to Bi-Han. The latter didn't initially notice you as he tried to launch a Ghostball at Hanzo. Only for you to pluck a single string that sent a soundwave, knocking him off balance. This finally gained the Spectre's attention, who asked if you were here to finish him off after Scorpion did all the hard work.

This Spectre, being the same one who tried to overthrow your birth realm, tried to force you to wed him, wanted to control you, killed so many of your fellow Oni, has done Elder Gods know what other unspeakable crimes... Yet you couldn't hate him.

You knew him in life as someone who defended Earthrealm from the forces of the Netherrealm. Who helped free Sareena from your father's service as a slave. You watched him burn amongst the Hellfire after Scorpion unjustly dragged him into the Netherrealm, Bi-han's pleas of his innocence falling on uncaring ears. You were there when your father merged Bi-han's soul with the shadows of the damned. It was time that he was set free.

”What Hanzo did to you was unjust and unwarranted. I am sorry that you both were dragged in by Quan-chi’s deceptions." "The shadows do not need pity." Bi-han, or what was Bi-han, spat at Y/N. The latter doesn't react visibly but softly replies, "No. I offer you mercy." A grating sound echos from Bi-Han, which took Y/N a few seconds to realize was laughter. "You would spare me after I had done?" Y/N shook her head before readying her shamisen into place. Her hands begin to glow with a ghostly green and purple fire. "I'll finally set your soul free from this shell."

You then begin to play your song. It first started out at a frequency low enough to disrupt Wraith's entire central nervous system, meaning you essentially shut down his brain and began rupturing his organs. You then start to play louder, using your magic to encase you and Bi-Han in a dome of blinding fiery light, ensuring that The Wraith can't use the shadows to escape. From there, you began to tear Bi-han apart, burning skin, muscle, organs, and bone. At one point, you didn't need your hands to continue playing your Shamisen.

The soul was the hardest for you to cleave because it was so submerged in darkness. In fact, you were worried for a moment that you had utterly destroyed the soul until you peeled the darkness enough to be greeted by a bright speck of light, barely bigger than a grape. By then, the dome you made shattered, and your spell on Scorpion was removed.

Hanzo watched you gently cup the soul speck in your hand and hold it over your heart, giving it an odd embrace. You whispered to the soul, telling it you'd grant it safe passage. You gave the speck a tiny bit of your magic to boost it before releasing it into the air. The speck, as if instinctually knowing what it must do next, rocketed off into what counted as a sky above you until it disappeared.

"What did you do?" Scorpion whispered, finding the silence that now hung in the air somehow more deafening than when you took his hearing briefly. You turn to face Scorpion, your red eyes misty. "What I could for him."

Then, you used your magic to send a fire bolt into the air in the shape of a scorpion, essentially announcing to all in the realm that Bi-han has been defeated. Hanzo has won. You confirmed this by gesturing to the demolished black throne and declaring that, as per your deal with him, the Netherrealm is now Scorpion's. You wished him well, turning to leave with the intent of rejoining your army, when you felt a hand on your shoulder.

Hanzo turns you around so you can be face-to-face with each other. He offered you an amendment to your agreement. Scorpion will need someone he can trust to help him rule his new realm, someone who knows the Netherrealm intimately, someone with experience governing its people, someone with a good heart that won't let power corrupt her. You happily accepted and announced Scorpion's first decree to the waiting armies.

Reconstitution was not easy, but with you and Scorpion overseeing it all, your efforts made reconstructing the Netherrealm possible. You and Scorpion's leadership styles complemented one another, balancing each other. Scorpion's harsh and severe rule was necessary to keep the rest of Netherrealm's demons under control, and he was quick to stamp out any more revolts from the remainder of Bi-han's followers. On the other hand, you lead with wisdom and compassion to the denizens of the Netherrealm who weren't mindless beasts such as Sareena and her sisters, who have loyally fought by your side for decades now. Given your understanding of the inner workings of the realm, you often politically guided Scorpion on how the Netherrealm works and what would be best for its denizens.

Eventually, you transitioned from Scorpion's Advisor to being his Queen. While you were hesitant at first, inquiring if Scorpion really wants to be bound to the child of his family's killer. Unwavering in his resolve, Hanzo reassured you that he cared not for your blood but your heart. Your heart is why the former Shirai Ryu Grandmaster deeply fell for you; otherwise, he wouldn't bother asking. With joyful tears, you embraced Hanzo and accepted his proposal. The wedding wasn't a grand affair but an intimate ceremony with your most trusted allies.

Some more years go by, with more trials and errors, whether that be maintaining you and Hanzo's authority over the Netherrealm or your marriage with the Wraith. Despite Hanzo ultimately forgiving you, that didn't erase the guilt and doubts you held. You sometimes felt as if, somehow, you were keeping your husband trapped down in the Netherrealm through obligation, keeping him from spending the afterlife in the Heavens with his family. Yet, when you voice this guilt with Hanzo, he apologizes for doing whatever made you think that. He then reassures you that it was his choice to stay in the Netherrealm, and he wants to stay there with you as long as you have him.

One day, your husband and King told you the time had come to fulfill his promise to Sub-Zero. You told Scorpion that you'll be able to meet his duties while he's away before asking him not to be too hard on Kuai Liang. Hanzo held your forehead against his and promised to do his best. Your husband then disappeared from the Netherrealm in a wall of hellfire.

When you see your husband again, with a much older Kuai Liang in tow, as expected. What you didn't expect was to find both men bleeding from various wounds and Kuai Liang to be missing an arm. You rushed to meet them and asked what happened to them. Scorpion answers that he'll tell you later, but Kuai Liang's presence must be addressed for now.

You held your hand over the old man, where his arm was missing, gently asking permission to heal him. Kuai Liang looked to Scorpion for confirmation whether or not he should let you. When the Lord of Hell nodded, Kuai Liang accepted and let you stop the bleeding before doing the same for Scorpion.

You tell the former Lin Kuei Grandmaster that it's nice to finally meet him, as your husband has told you much about him. This catches Kuai Liang off guard at the news. To confirm this, Scorpion holds up his left hand to reveal his obsidian ring, which matches the one on your left hand. Scorpion held your hand with loving eyes on you as he introduced you to Kuai Liang.

"I could not have picked no better than her to have at my side."

However, Kuai Liang was less surprised in comparison when learning that Scorpion also keeps watch of the Netherrealm as its new Overlord. Because of you and Scorpion's ranks, you had to properly address his banishment to the Netherrealm. As you and your husband agreed, you held court for how his sentence shall be carried out within the Netherrealm. After a swift court session, Kuai Liang's sentence was decided.

“Per your oath, you shall spend the rest of your natural life here, where Lord Scorpion and I may contain and monitor your abilities. Welcome, Kuai Liang, to the Netherrealm.”

You promise Kuai Liang that while he may be stuck here, you’ll ensure his soul won’t remain in the Netherrealm forever. The old man thanked you for your kindness, even if he didn't think he deserved it. You retorted that it doesn't matter whether or not he deserves your kindness; his actions have shown you that he's more than earned it.

From the steps of your fortress, you and Scorpion then show the sprawling city of the dead below, where Kuai Liang shall dwell for the rest of his life.

Here are some headcannons about Reiko:

He may not like Earthrelmers (well, not til she literally popped in his life), but he LOVES animals from Earthrelm.

He has a pet American possum named Vict Solud ( hc Outworld words), meaning little soldier after finding him clinging to life after his mother was killed. Shout out to @boomclowntown who drew me Reiko and his "son" almost a year back.

Is a sucker for true crime. He also loves the murder mystery games like Hunt a Killer or Cold Case. Alot like the main character in high potential, he can't relax until he figures something out.

Horror movies he is a bit picky when Johnny dared him to sit through a bunch of "disturbing" horror movies. Oddly, he's not a fan of movies that are gorey for the sake of being gorey like terrorfier.

His favorite Disney film is hands down Lilo and Stitch.

When he isn't at war or training, he helps out the wounded soldiers he brought back home, or will do random volunteer work for whomever needs a pair of strong hands.

He firmly believes that soldiers have to commit acts of service to the people when they are not actively at war. He helps the fishermen with their nets, repair homes of the elders in the cities, give comfort to widows, and orphaned children of fallen soldiers. He has been found silently crying when he has to go to the families of his men and tell them they will not be returning home or will be returning wounded.

At that point in Earthrelm, he converts some spare gold to the local currency and gives it to the local homeless veterans to find a home or their next meal.

Once returning from Earthrelm, a potbelly pig was found following him through the portal, and Reiko just took him under his wing, now another "child" to him.

A Hug isn't something that guy deserves, he can only imagine what it did to him. For your lover, a from you causes him to barely be able to contain himself. Let’s all just ignore the Khaos Reigns trailer and have a good time :D. I rewatched Deadpool 2 yesterday (I have not seen the 3rd one yet, so no spoilers) and fell in love with Domino. The reader has Dominos powers, which is luck. It basically means everything always works out for her. Also lowers the luck of everyone else around her. It’ll make more sense as we continue. (I think fsfghee and I should just get married at this point cause how am I always picking their gifs?)

He is both grateful and irritated by your power

Honestly I can see him not even seeing “luck” as a power when you first tell him

But on a mission you say you should both make a detour, and the second he decides to humor you, the hall you would’ve been in blows up

He takes it seriously after that

He’s grateful for it because luck is always on your side. Failing a mission is kinda slim to none now

It irritates him because your power means that you’re always right

Ya’ll know that man hates being proven wrong

He’s stubborn, so he stupidly argues with you about stuff still

A quick example is one day he somehow loses his mask

He’s looking everywhere and he cannot find that shit

I have this scene in my head where it’s when Bi-Han sides with Shang Tsung and you’re begging him not to

You keep your feet planted firmly by Kuai Liang. “Well I don’t sense any luck with you”

MK1 Lin Kuei headcannons (Cute childhood edition)

Bi-Han

As a child, he was a big fiction reader. Sci-fi, mystery, there was nothing he didn't read. Non-fiction he saved purely for his studies- it bored him completely any other time.

He wasn't one for animal companionship, but he did have an exception as a child - the Lin Kuei temples had quite a few stray cats. He got quite attached to them, feeding and caring for them frequently. In return, he got lots of impromptu snuggles from them during meditation sessions.

A favourite past-time hobby of his was carving from wood. He could spend hours at his desk working away on a project. Statues of dragons and mythical creatures from the books he read all sit on a shelf in his room, handmade by him. He treasures them all dearly.

Though not a favourite hobby of his, he did take up knitting at one point, after watching his mother. He was never good at it, but he did enjoy it. He kept stacks of random wool in his room because of this.

Speaking of his mother, Bi-Han was a complete mama's boy as a child. His mother was his go-to for all things advice. He loved her dearly.

Kuai Liang

He loved cooking as a kid- mostly the eating part, but he enjoyed the satisfaction of making his own dish, just how he wanted it. He was, and still is, a massive fan of spicy food. If he can still feel his tongue, it isn't spicy enough.

He had a fascination with wildlife growing up- especially inverts like scorpions and tarantulas. He kept many in his room as a hobby over the years. As a child, he could spew fact upon fact about each creature like a crazy man, going on for literal hours if you let him.

His favourite animal he ever kept was an Emperor scorpion. He let Tomas name him, which resulted in the abomination that is Sprinkles Jr. Despite her awful name, Kuai loved and cared for her well.

Had very little patience for a lot of things as a kid compared to his adult self. He always had to be on the move, doing something he deemed fun or exciting, rather than things that were demanded of him- for example, studying or meditating. He tried, of course, but he struggled with it for the longest time until eventually he cooled down with age.

Total daddy's boy. Absolutely adored his father growing up, and strongly idolised him. He still does as an adult.

Tomas

His native tongue is Czech, but as a child he knew bits of Russian and German. He also knew bits and pieces of English, though not nearly as well. He joined the family not knowing Chinese at all, and had to be taught. Luckily, he picked it up fairly quickly.

His favourite animal as a child were foxes. He also adored big, goofy dogs- the fluffier the better.

Most of his childhood clothes (before his grey clothing choice was finalised) were hand-me-downs from his older brothers. This meant, for a long while, Tomas wandered around in a weird dual mix of old, faded blues and yellows.

The first trick he ever learnt with his smoke magic was how to levitate, though it was an accident and out of his control, for the most part. He used to freak both Kuai Liang and Bi-Han out by randomly floating upwards sometimes, or, even worse, randomly falling out of the sky, leading to one of them having to run and catch him.

He was a mama's boy as a kid, with both his blood mother and adoptive mother. He loves them both dearly.

Lin Kuei Members Headcannons

This is more based on the 2nd timeline. Not MK1. This is kind of a what Kuai Liang has managed to restore Bi Han and Tomas. I will not explain myself.

Kuai Liang:

While Bi Han is the more powerful of the two, Kuai Liang is the more disciplined.

He likes to read a LOT. If he’s not on a mission, training, or hanging out with Tomas, he’s reading. Especially books about science.

He’s a massive chemistry nerd. His fascination started when he was a kid and started using his ice powers more. He loved seeing how his cold power affected things around him, and it just kind of spawned off into an interest in chemical reactions.

When he was a young man he was really interested in the use of technology when fighting and working with Sektor, however after the cyber initiative he’s more like Bi Han. He’s not quite as bad as his brother but anything more advanced than a landline is a no.

Very strict about being viewed as professional and expects all his students to be on their best behavior whenever someone is visiting the Lin Kuei. Even if it’s only the Kombat Kids dropping by, everyone damn well better behavior. He has a reputation to keep up after all.

Acts annoyed with Johnny Cage but does secretly appreciate his friendship.

He used to get annoyed with Johnny Cage’s ice puns and jokes because they reminded Kuai Liang of Bi Han’s jokes when they were younger.

Has all the confidence in the world in a fight or when leading, but could not flirt to save his life. The second anything romantic comes up he just freezes (hehe) up and isn’t sure what to do. If he does come up with something it’s usually the cheesiest ice pun pick up line any man has ever said. Bi Han:

Sometimes, rarely, when something triggers an early childhood memory for him he talks to Sareena about it, but other than that he won’t talk about it. Not even if asked.

“Bi Han” was not his birth name and he knows this. He also knows Kuai Liang’s birth name but never told Kuai Liang what it was and Kuai Liang doesn’t remember his birth name.

Has a very low social battery. Can maybe go an hour or two before he starts getting annoyed or antsy when in social environments. This is another one of those things he tries his best to hide cause he thinks he’ll be mocked for it. Kuai Liang and Tomas know but never bring it up cause Bi Han will just deny it.

Very technophobic. To the point that this man doesn’t even own a phone. However, that's not to say you weren't cautious about her safety. You informed any guard on duty who agreed to not tell Hanzo about your escapades and where you were heading. You never went out unarmed and strayed too far, all to keep D/N safe.

However, because of these secret escapades, D/N grew bold enough to explore outside the compound on her own as she grew older. You knew about this, no matter how sneaky D/N thought she was, yet you feigned ignorance. You and Hanzo assured D/N that they know it wasn't on purpose, but that does mean Hanzo would have to begin her training slightly earlier than they thought. This was fine by D/N, a daddy's girl who was happy to spend more time with her father. You assured D/N it was to make sure she could control her abilities and prevent accidental burnings. You later would gift your daughter a biwa you made yourself from a mixture of bones and tusks gathered from animals around the compound, all that died of natural causes.

When D/N was five years old, you and Hanzo would welcome another new member of the Shirai Ryu. This time, a timid 8-year-old Takeda was brought to Hanzo's doorstep by his father, Kenshi, for his safety. Your heart went out to Kenshi as he explained Takeda's story, including how the Red Dragon went after his mother and was chased here. You promised Kenshi that Takeda would be safe and welcomed among the Shirai Ryu.

However, the same sentiments weren't shared with D/N. Takeda was initially distrustful of the Shirai Ryu's Grandmaster when he learned he was a former wraith; the boy distrusted you even more for being a demon, which extended to your daughter. During Takeda's early days in the Shirai Ryu, he was aloof and standoffish with everyone, yet D/N took it more personally than everyone else.

D/N had no other children her age to befriend or play with for five years. Finally, she meets someone closer to her age, and when she tries to greet him initially, Takeda snubs her. In response, D/N gives the timid boy a hard time, thinking Takeda hates her. This included sneak "attacks" to scare Takeda and making everything a competition to show she's "better" than him in every possible way. Takeda wasn't any better as he constantly made snide remarks towards her and was just as competitive. You or Hanzo usually stepped in whenever their quarrel would escalate to actual fighting.

Eventually, thanks to you sitting down to explain Takeda's situation as best as you could, D/N would come to understand the timid boy simply misses his mother and is trying to adjust to living with the Shirai Ryu. After making up, the two children would become such close friends that D/n began to see Takeda as an older brother. Takeda would tell D/N about life outside the compound, and D/N would play between training. She even showed Takeda where she liked to feed the stray cats and introduced him to every one of them by name.

As the two young warriors grew older, with D/N as a teen and Takeda now a young adult, their personalities seemed to have switched. Takeda was no longer the timid and aloof boy who arrived at the Shirai Ryu; now, he was a strong, carefree, and confident warrior. D/N, once more cheerful and playful, became more reserved and unflappable. D/N didn't care for drawing out fights or witty banter, not when her clan's livelihood was on the line. It became an inside joke among the Shirai Ryu that, somehow, both Takeda and D/N switched souls at some point. Nonetheless, Takeda and D/N bonds were stronger than ever.

Their bond was especially fortunate when D/N transformed into her more demonic form before Takeda. This incident occurred a year before Takeda was reunited with his father. The two initiatives were sparring in one of the dojos, and Takeda accidentally knocked D/N into a rack of spears. Fortunately, D/N wasn't hurt, but this did trigger her transformation into a skeletal and dragon-looking demon with hellfire glowing within her eyes and veins. Understandably, both of them then freaked out, which escalated when D/N shouted out a torrent of fire and set the dojo on fire.

Luckily, the fire was put out swiftly before it could burn any more buildings, but D/N and Takeda ran out before anyone could confront them. They hoped to return to Master Hasashi's quarters before anyone else could see D/N like that. However, after hearing the reports of the fire and seeing the reports, both you and Hanzo initially assumed that Nethrealm was behind this attack. Yet, a little later, before meeting face to face with your daughter, you could put together, from what others saw, that it was a singular demon seen with Takeda.

When you and Hanzo found the demon and Takeda after D/N had accidentally broken down some walls and windows, the latter confirmed your suspicions. Hanzo calmed down D/N through breathing techniques they practiced during meditation, thus bringing her back to her more human self. You would later take D/N to the side to warn her not to use her demonic form too much because if she uses it too long, D/N will lose her mind to bestial rage and try to kill EVERYONE. After the incident, you and your husband decided that you would take over D/N's training to gain better mastery over her transformation and whatever abilities being descended from the Netherrealm may have given her. Which you later found to be necromancy when you found a reanimated cat corpse later on. You and D/N had a long talk about fates worse than death with that one.

Of course, when Takeda eventually left the Shirai Ryu to complete his training with his father, D/N was reluctant to say goodbye to her oldest friend and brother. You were right there with her as you thought of Takeda as a son to you. Takeda thanked you for caring for him all these years and traded headbands with D/N so they have a piece of each other wherever they go.

D/N especially wished for Takeda's presence when her parents stopped talking to each other a month after he left. She didn't know what had happened between them, but she knew it had happened after they had answered a summons from Lin Kuei's Grandmaster. Despite you and Hanzo's conflict, you both took the time to assure your daughter that you love her deeply. This only made D/N more concerned about what was going on between her parents.

She got some answers when confronting Hanzo in private. He explained how, for years, until recently, he blamed the Lin Kuei, particularly a man named Bi-Han, for the death of his clan and his family. But, it was not Bi-han who orchestrated the downfall of their clan but another named Sektor, who cut a deal with an evil Sorcerer from the Netherrealm. The same vile man who enslaved and manipulated Hanzo for years. Whom you almost died trying to escape from to be with Hanzo. Her father spoke about how he lost his first wife and infant son, Harumi and Satoshi, to a Necromancer named Quan-chi, who happened to be the father of D/N's mother, you. Your daughter's only question was, "Do you regret ever meeting Mother and having me?"

This has broken something in the Grandmaster. Hanzo faced his daughter with a stone expression before embracing her in his strong arms. He then whispered, fighting off tears and failing. "No, I cannot regret you."

At a later date, you'd approach your daughter in the evening to speak with her about her Grandfather. D/N told you Hanzo explained who Quan-chi is, so that only left you to explain who Quan-chi was to you. That being, a former Master who never treated you as his daughter but more as one of his servants or a pet, a weak one for your kindness. You explained how Quan-chi had you train D/N's father when he was a wraith, how he regained his humanity, how you began to fall for the man and his clan, and how you denounced your father. You explained that Quan-chi sent the Revenants to kill you without a moment's hesitation, and you're only alive because of Hanzo and the Shirai Ryu. You even showed D/N the scars that littered your body, surprising her as she'd never seen them.

You held your daughter close, running your fingers through her silky hair as you reassured her that she will be alright. You then asked her to make you a promise that no matter what happens, D/N will remember that her father loves her. D/N earnestly promises that she will uphold her promise.

The next day, late at night where everyone was asleep save for a few. D/N woke to the sound of you leaving your home and began to follow you atop the roofs with you, unaware. D/N stayed hidden and listened as you spoke with your husband, having to bite her tongue when you offered your life in penance. D/N watched in anticipation as her father briefly contemplated his katana and your prone form. She was ready to interfere on your behalf when Hanzo raised his sword into the air... before tossing it to the side. D/N nearly gave herself from the overwhelming amount of relief that suddenly drained the energy from her muscles.

She listened as you two made amends and vowed to get your revenge against Quan-chi. D/N then rushed back home to make it seem like she wasn't listening in on her parents in the first place. Yet, as she ran over the rooftops and atop trees, she came to a conclusion wildly different from her parents': Revenge is a pointless cycle that brings no catharsis. It caused her father to unjustly kill an innocent man and nearly take her mother's life because he was blinded by his rage. Yet, if she ever met her "Grandfather," she would make him eat his heart. For the safety of her clan and so that both her parents may know true peace.

Kung Lao;

‘Babe’ is his absolute go to, he uses it more than your name. When he wants to be teasing or flirt with you, it’ll be “whatever you need, Angel” sometime he’ll add a ‘my’ to them to make “my baby” or “my angel,” but only when he’s feeling particularly lovey-dovey - which is rare. 

Raiden;

“Good morning, beautiful,” is whispered to you everyday. He loves to tell you how pretty he thinks you are. When he tires of that nickname, he’ll switch to “my love.” You are the object of all his desires, you must be reminded of this fact everyday. 

Bi-han; 

To him, nothing is more intimate than your name. Depending on the situation the two of you are in, he will utter it in a different tone. Sometimes, it will drip like honey from his tongue. Others, he will whisper. Some he will moan. Rarely will he ever shout it. Never has it said it in vain. 

Kuai Liang;

You are his love, his one and only. Nothing is this world can calm the way you do. More domestically, he’ll call to you as ‘honey’. It’s more expectable to call you this in front of other people; it makes for less awkward or embarrassing moments. 

Tomas Vrbada;

Not ashamed to call you any term of endearment he can think of. From ’my heart’, to ‘my love’, even ‘baby’, he’s called you it. He tried more experimental ones like ‘cutie’ and ‘sugar’ but they never really stuck. 

Johnny Cage; 

When he wants something, he’ll call you ‘honey’. It never really did anything for you, you much prefer when he calls you ‘doll’. Sure, it’s old-fashioned, but it’s something only he could pull off. When he’s being silly or teasing, he’s been known to throw out the odd ‘boogaloo’.

Kenshi Takahashi;

More often than not, he’ll call you by your name, but when he’s alone with you he refers to you with per names in his mother tongue. He’s also been known to use ‘babe’ around a certain people.

Syzoth;

Calls you ‘sweetness’ when you’re alone together - dragging the ’s’ out deliberately to tease you. When in the presence of people, your name is all he will call you. He keeps things between the two of you; known else need know your business. 

Shang Tsung; 

‘My dear,’ is the first thing he says when he first sees you, his arms often outstretched, awaiting your embrace. Though he has never said it to your face, when defending your honour in fights/combat he uses ‘my beloved’.

Reiko;

‘That’s my girl.’ Need I say more. Loves to praise you while simultaneously reminding those around you that you’re his. Doesn’t use other terms very much, but if he does, they always have ‘my’ in front of them.

Havik;

Calls you ‘Bella’, a shortened term for belladonna - aka deadly nightshade. Also refers to you as ‘my poison’ or simply says ‘you are my weakness’.

Mortal Kombat 2021 with a Platonic, Child Reader

Note(s): This is an 'AU' of sorts where they have more time to train and and Shang Tsung doesn't attack Raidens Temple.

This has been in my drafts for about a year now, enjoy!

Cole Young

Sleepovers with Emily? Yes. Absolutely. Cole and Allison get woken up at 5 AM by you two roasting Kano, he has to hold back punching the two of you because he knows that everyone in the Temple would make that personal.

When you're both training at Raiden's Temple, Cole always goes easy on you and views you as his own kid, he gets how finding your Arcana is difficult, especially when it seems like everybody else already has this figured out.

You probably don't have any fighting experience so he takes some extra time to help you, and while he can't teach you any deadly moves, mainly teaching you defense and how to knock out an opponent, he's still very helpful.

Cole gives you extras at dinner, it's not very sneaky, he doesn't even try to hide it. Cue the teasing from everybody else at the table.

If you have anxieties about the tournament he tries calming you down by reading a story, it helped Emily so he can only assume it will help you as well, even for your age it's childish, but it makes things melt away for a moment. There's no training, unfamiliar temple, or Outworld, just Cole and a story.

He gets a mix between anger and sadness whenever anybody mentions the fact you need to participate in the tournament, he's tried to convince Raiden to take you out, to no avail, it leaves him to spend more time with you, he's afraid he'll lose you when the time comes.

Has absolutely no medical experience, the best he can do is carry you to Liu Kang or other medics.

Liu Kang

Liu helps with your temper or anxieties a lot, he's basically always behind you putting a hand on your shoulder, and views himself as an older brother to you.

He's very sympathetic and will give you advice or just listen when you need it, no matter what situation you're in. Liu is extremely truthful as well, if you're in the wrong he will tell you but he'll let you down easy with it.

Liu has a watchful eye on you at all times, he visibly sweats whenever you get close to Kano, Kung Lao teases him for it constantly.

He's like your doctor, and usually won't take you to any other medic in the Temple unless it's necessary, if you're injured in any way he's helping you and you cannot stop him. That is if you ever manage to get hurt anyway, he doesn't let Kung Lao or Kano use their Arcana on you.

Actually your personal hype man, the living embodiment of 'you're doing great sweetie', regardless of how many times you fall over in training, he only counts the times you get up.

Speaking of training, he tends to use repeated attacks so you can learn how to defend against them more easily, he doesn't use his fire unless he's certain you can move away from it, and he's very unsure about using heavier attacks on you.

That's why he's mainly instructing a fight between you and somebody else, so he can set ground rules to keep you not injured while allowing you to learn.

Liu Kang won't talk to you about it, but he's had multiple arguments with Raiden over allowing you to be in the tournament in the first place. He believes that since you're a child, you shouldn't be risking your life. Raiden doesn't listen.

Kung Lao

Kung Lao is probably distant at first, he doesn't really know how to act around children, at least not as an adult. He shares the same opinion of all the chosen, you need to be taken out of the tournament, and while he won't say it out loud, he does back people up when the opinion is shared.

He's more willing to use his aracana and 'deadlier' methods of training, but he has such a control over his fighting style and hat that you've never gotten extremely injured. Anytime you do get injured, he picks you up, regardless of if the injury allows you to walk or not, and takes you to the infirmary himself.

He's not good at comforting words, if you're nervous for the tournament, the most he can say is that fate wouldn't have chosen you for this if it wasn't meant to be.

Kung Lao already despises Kano, but he makes one remark towards you and in his eyes he's about to be a dead man, Liu Kang has had to hold him back on a number of occasions.

Sneaks you extra, and makes some faces at the dinner table, it ends up making everybody else laugh more than anything, but their jokes at his expense make you laugh in turn. So, he technically didn't fail.

He's medically trained and can in fact help most injuries unless they're extremely fatal, like Jax's arms, and so most of them he can fix by simply walking to the infirmary and walking out a minute later, you with a bandaged injury.

Sonya Blade

Sonya is a bit annoyed that a literal child got a mark before her, but then she realises that means you'll need to fight in the tournament, and she proceeds to dedicate everything to training you.

Even if she's not technically allowed to train with you before she gets her mark, she does sneak out with you. While she understands it's not exactly her place, in the short time she's known you she's become attached, and she wants you to have every chance of survival.

As part of the special forces, she's an expert in all types of combat, and will almost definitely teach you how to kill, even if it weighs on her conscience that a child could have blood on their hands thanks to her.

Everybody already knows about this, but even Kung Lao decides to back off once he notices how much she cares for you.

Sonya will get violent with Kano the second he tries to mock or tease you, she won't go too far, but she's teaching him a lesson and she wanted an excuse for months to do so just let her have this one.

At dinner she's firm with your diet, making sure you eat more healthy options every time, which, makes everyone at the table laugh. She's not a complete control freak, she just understands that in situations like these what you're eating is very important.

She's not the best person to come to when you're injured, but not the worst, either, she's very calm unless it's a serious injury, and knows the basics of at least disinfecting the wound / putting pressure on it so it stops bleeding while she brings you to a medic in the Temple.

Bi-Han As A Dad (fluff edition)

I’m currently writing a fluff one shot of Bi-Han as a dad, but with the world being boo-boo, I thought why not drop a few headcanons I have until it’s done. Enjoy. (Also I love this gif).

It’s very easy to paint Bi-Han as someone who would be a terrible and strict dad

Is Bi-Han strict? Absolutely. But he’s strict because he wants his kids to be focused and become the best warrior they can

Bi-Han cuts his kids fruit and leaves it outside their rooms if they’re sleeping

He genuinely believes they can succeed at whatever they want to if they try hard enough

Do not ever let his kid get bullied. I swear to y’all this man does not care that hitting kids is frowned upon

Or the parent gotta run him the fair one

Either way, that shit is not sliding

Bi-Han has nicknames for his kids

I don’t see them being smth like “oh my little boo boo cake”, but smth like 小天使 (Little Angel) or 小战士 (Little Warrior)

Since he’s the oldest brother, he has experience caring for younger people when they’re ill or injured

He’s still Bi-Han though, so he’s talking shit the whole time

On the real though, Bi-Han is not a perfect father but he for sure tries his best. He has a lot of hiccups because he’s not used to being in tuned with his feelings and the feelings of others, but he’s trying. I don’t see his kids ever feeling genuinely hated by him or like he doesn’t like them
