pizza time
On Moroccan-style Frena buns, pizza sauce, red onions, pepperoni cut into different sizes for variety, and hot peppers.
The top right 3 have diced red onion in the pizza sauce, the bottom L pizzas have longer onion slices. To be honest the true best method maybe somewhere in the middle, some diced onions in the sauce and some slices on the cheese level.
The hot peppers I put 4ish slices on each bun, but they might be over powering? But they're cooling off and I got YouTube open and beers in the fridge, time to be fat and Happy on a Saturday.
Ah fuck, I forgot the Pineapple.

Hi! Morrocan mint tea anon here.
I’m not Morrocan myself, but due to family relationships my dad spent a lot of time with his little brother’s Moroccan family, and brought me along, so I grew up with a lot of Moroccan food as a child, including Moroccan mint tea.
I’m sorry if I was weird about it! I’ll try and keep my eye on these kinds of things in the future. I noticed you were talking about Morocco in your last post, and made the comment. I’ll do a better job of not making unnecessary comments in the future. I’m truly sorry if I made you uncomfortable!
It is very common for racialised people to be approached and addressed specifically and immediately on the topic of food—upon being told, guessing, or otherwise extracting information about my ethnicity from me, the #1 comment a (usually) white person will usually give me is about how much they love Moroccan food (the #2 comment is about how their mother's bassoon teacher's dog's vet's sister was from Iraq or something, lmao)—I recall reading on a white woman's cooking blog's recipe for warqa dough that she had gotten the recipe by seeing a woman at a park, guessing that she was Moroccan, chasing her down, and immediately demanding to be taught how to make it.
This is, like I said, a very common trope, and it's tiring and uncomfortable in the same way that anything that is repeated often is uncomfortable—but especially so since food is literally something you consume—a culture with which someone associates you (thus, in a way, you) is being reflected back at you through their eyes as symbol, destination, thing, object of desire, but never "structure," anything with depth or life of its own. This sort of thing puts me in mind of the Orientalist project (which, in fact, originated in North Africa)—create a curiosity for a culture, present it as a series of curios, things to be experienced, foods to be eaten, décor to be purchased, all in a way that reinforces the right of the coloniser both to extract material value from the nations it imperialises but also to present that culture to his or her own nation, or even to itself—to say what the culture is "like," which objects the culture consists in (so that these objects, and the labour required to mine, forage, harvest, and/or craft them, can be forcibly extracted from the colonised or imperialised country, and demand for these objects can be created in the colonial 'centre')—that is to say, to present a culture or shoved-together group of cultures as nothing more than a series or collection of objects or vignettes.
I also find it odd that, not only did you immediately associate Morocco with this object and need to tell me about it upon learning that I was Moroccan (and really, what am I meant to say in response?)—you also, assuming you learnt this information to-day, found it out as a result of racist and Islamophobic harassment being directed against me due to my ethnicity—and then, rather than commenting on or denouncing said racist harassment or just, like, continuing to scroll, you made a comment about food...... perhaps you didn't see the series of asks I got from this person (just to-day, though there were others a few months ago, and there were more in my inbox that I just simply deleted), but you can see why this gives me pause.
I really don't mean to berate you btw—I appreciate your apology & wouldn't bother explaining any of this if I didn't think you were being genuine

for the ask game! :]
what's their accent? do they have "home" skills (like sewing) and what are they? + whats their favorite flavor or dish?
(Answering about Rowan coz you specified in another ask :) )
For the accent, its funny because most of my OCs do have accents as we assign them nationalities and origins for our Modern AU, or the equivalents in-game(Sigurd/Wanderer is German, Mikh is Morrocan/Indian, etc). Rowan is...not specified in that AU. In canon he's from Ustalav, which is the Pathfinder version of Transylvania, so... I suppose one could say he has Vampire Accent™
He is VERY handy at home, and he's a househusband every time he's between jobs and he loves it! He's not... great with fine motor skills like sewing and his cooking is mid but you can tell he puts a lot of love into it. He's better at fixing stuff, construction work, and making sure his wife doesn't forget anything before going off to work (that happens like. Two times a day).
And maybe it's the Tiefling heritage but he loves spicy and salty food. There's nothing short of fire from the planes of hell that he would consider to be "too spicy"

Couscous that slaps
So preface
I don't usually prefer the rounder morrocan couscous I really prefer the tiny sand like grains of Israeli couscous esp with a poached egg on top or with shakshuka but this needs the size of the pearled couscous.
You need some Almonds
A chicken bouillon cubes
The couscous
Onion, garlic powder
Black pepper
And to be fancy Saffron
If you aren't making the fancy Glaze separate add a dash of lemon/lime juice and pomegranate with some honey
Plus disregard for measurements and a soul to judge your portions with.
Roughly chop up those almonds, not that fine silvered nonsense, we want some crunch
Toast those in a pan on med-low with your couscous, tossing often so nothing burns and you feel fancy like a chef
When toasted throw in the chicken cube, your oil of choice (I highly rec butter or duck fat for that Richness), onion/garlic powder, pepper and a few saffron threads-like 3-4
Toss those up in the melted oil for a quick second
Panic as you forgot to get the water (don't use stock if you're using a bullion cube and vice versa) get the water enough to cover the couscous by like half an inch. Eyeball it
Simmer until fully cooked, you want those almonds to get a bit stewed.
Serve couscous hot
Delicious
Or mix in Fancy glaze to be described in the next post

I am so tired of this shit
#like first of all making this post was a pain#since apparently my computer decided despite being on top of the thickest book I own and having considerably less open on it than usual#it's going to overheat like when I was just using it on top of a blanket!#or at least lag and make the fan whir like when it was I have felt underneath and it's relatively cool compared to before#anyway this post was originally about my grandmother constantly berating us for 'wasting money'#and you know what she fucking did!!#she decided to go through the spice cupboard which I know is a foreign space to her considering her cooking#btw we've taken to buying packets of spices and dried herbs to refill the little bottles it's a neat system#which is now ruined!!!#she got upset with us for 'buying packets of things that are already in the cupboard' aka the refills#poured them out because the bottles' dates are from like. last year#poured out bottles of things because 'we already have that' no we don't that's a different thing#not our fault you can't tell the difference between morrocan seasoning which btw DID need to be chucke#chucked#and literally anything that may be named after a similar region#anyway the worst thing she did was a little while back we were given some EXPENSIVE fancy salts which are very nice#but these had stuff like pepperberry in it which is so nice#anyway these were gifts and these were also NINE DOLLARS EACH#and nowhere near out of date or nearly empty#they got tipped out!! what happened to not wasting money huh#hypocritical old hag. she lied about disgusting things to my cousin because I confronted her about needing a plumber#I can't fucking do this! I have already acquired a big fucking knife if she keeps being a self centred old prick it'll end up in one of us#she won't listen if I tell her to take a look at herself and consider that she is being hypocritical for once and she tells me to shut up.#because she can't fucking take a shred of criticism!#and then she says I can't well maybe I do at least take the criticism whether it hurts me or not and maybe I don't put it into effect but#at least I fucking LISTEN TO OTHERS who aren't so afraid of me they can't tell you you've done a thing wrong!#she hates me because I turned out similar to her I turned into a stubborn bastard who starts lashing out as soon as I snap#which doesn't fucking take much these days#considering this is over salt
