Did a module-by-module breakdown of my modular setup in preparation for the patch-a-week plan of 2023. Bit unpolished but tells you what you need to know.

Glitchy grooving.
Had my good friend Eric over with his modular to record a couple of jams to kick off Jamuary. I want to upload as often as possible this month, but I'm not holding myself to every day - for example, I sat down on the 2nd for it but couldn't quite get anything out. The important thing is being consistent and building tempo. I did the count and it turns out I posted 62 jams last year, after Jamuary! That's an achievement I'm fairly proud of, and I'd like to share just as much or more and keep improving this year. If things go according to plan, I'll have at least an EP to show for it by the end.
This pair of jams we recorded heavily features Spectraphon and Data Bender to give their primary character, with a plethora of other spice and sequencing. The inclusion of his Morphagene adds some more rich samples which is a usually absent from my solo jamming and makes great fuel for processing.

Oddly enough, today my wife told me that my mother in law was asking her if I had anything I wanted for Christmas, and after talking things over a little, I ended up giving them both a wish list I have at a major music retailer — one I'd curated a bit to keep modules and accessories within reasonable costs, and have a range of not-too-expensive items — so I might actually be given a module I want. I mean, they're probably not gonna spring for a Wogglebug, let alone a Morphagene or a Spectraphon, but I might get something on the scale of a Press Point or Doepfer's A-119 Envelope Follower.
Weird. I think it's just disorienting and a little embarrassing for family members to have that much insight into what I'm actually doing with the Eurorack stuff beyond by usual self-effacing description of "making beepy noises".
I'm having one of those nights where I'm intensely wanting a dozen or so different Eurorack modules, and don't have the resources for any of them. The system I have is a lot of fun, but I keep thinking that I could do so much more if I just had — and that's where the list starts piling up. More VCAs, obviously; some complex audio sources like a Plaits clone and a sampler; a quantizer and a Turing Machine, or some multitool like the Ornament and Crime that does such things. A multimode filter.
Some things I have in the DIY planning or building stages, like the Baby10 sequencer I've been sort of working on for years, or the pseudorandom sequence generator I have breadboarded, or the Wasp filter on stripboard that's sitting semi-abandoned in a box here. And there are two modules based around Electric Druid chips that I just need to tweak slightly before they're ready to send to a PCB manufacturer.
(See, their STOMPLFO and ONESHOT chips use the same underlying PIC and very similar I/O, so I think I can make the circuit I designed for one also work with the other — and if I can make the layout symmetrical, I can have the panels made flippable, so the minimum order of five pieces would mean I had two different working modules. Just need to get back to kicad to make those tweaks.)
Anyway. I don't mean to feel sorry for myself — or worse yet, to convince readers to — for picking an expensive hobby, even if I've mostly managed to cheap out on it pretty well so far. Too much envy directed at other people's rigs isn't good for me. But there's so much available that would be such fun!

Here's a look at the Morphagene patch I was using last night. Morphagene (playing a field recording I made years ago of some kids on a playground) into QPAS into Mimeophon into Desmodus Versio, then into the output module and out to the MPC. Modulation from Triple Sloth and Function. Planar 2 and a Lightstrip offering hands-on control.
It was beautiful.
