I am so excited. This is a modular synth, in eurorack format, called the isms system. It is a collaboration between two highly innovative companies, Monome and Whimsical Raps. Monome's modules are incredibly deep sequencers and controllers that connect to a piece of hardware called the Grid. The Grid is a compact 8 by 16 grid of buttons that displays the interface of the module it is plugged into. Together these modules can act as the core for your patch structure, creating complex self generative patterns and record emotional instrument performance gestures. Whimsical Raps designed and builds the oscillators, modulation sources, filters and amplifier/utility modules present in the system. All their modules are packed with a stunningly diverse amount of functionality. Reading through the manuals I was shocked at how many different roles each one of their modules could play. Together, they made the isms case, specifically designed with their modules in mind, the case includes integrated ins and outs, an external spring reverb and a built in row of utility modules crucial for getting the most control out of their modules. I can honestly say that learning to play this instrument will keep me busy for a good many years. Time to get started. Thank you so much, Monome and Whimsical Raps. It's beautiful. Supposed to be learning the Mannequins by @WhimsicalRaps range but as usual getting distracted with patching.
