c, it really depends on the writer, characters involved and how they go about it. and i enjoy it more if the power play is subverting expectations/pre-existing dynamic too

i think c, i'll read it more of a byproduct of another aspect of the fic that interest me, not because of it, but it can be fun if done well

6. What’s one fact about the universe of the Bake Off AU that you didn’t get a chance to mention in the fic itself?

There are some things I'd like to play close to the vest because I feel like I could still include them in follow up fics so instead I offer my beloved readers The ChartTM, where I kept track of everything that Sam, Bucky, Karli, and John made while they were in the tent, as well as what every technical challenge was. This was finished in like, December of 2021. @ Ani sorry you've already seen this. (Putting it at the bottom under a cut so people can scroll past. You'll have to click to zoom in and read it clearly I think.)

8. What song would make a great fic (to either write or read)?

I'm not sure I fully understand this question, but I will say that whenever I hear "Put A Little Love On Me" by Niall Horan, it makes my ancient FFN songfic instincts light up, because I am nothing if not a sap.

10. How do you decide what to write?

I chase about a hundred different rabbits at the same time and hope I'm struck with inspiration for at least one of them? I have time to write now for the first time in a while and I'm trying to cultivate better writerly discipline but 98% of the time I just kind of percolate fic concepts in my head while doing other things, and then I get struck with an image or a scrap of conversation that I really like and then I'll pick up whichever idea it relates to and try to take that as far as I can.

11. Are you partial to a certain character/pairing or are you more equal-opportunity? If you are partial to any character/pairing, why do you think that is?

I don't write a whole lot of fic, so when I do, it's because a particular character or dynamic really drew me in and I wanted to explore that more? So I think by my nature, I'm partial to whatever relationship or character got me to start writing in the first place. (Also like, if there is a character who carries the weight of the world on their shoulders and tries to ignore this in favor of looking out for others, I WILL be writing about them; it cannot be helped.)

37. Promote one of your own “deep cut” fics (an underrated one, or one that never got as much traction as you think it deserves!). What do you like about it?

There's a little Sambucky ficlet that I wrote called "and now it's light", after my favorite Slow Club song, and it honestly did quite well, but it was one of the first fics I wrote for the pairing and it was the first time I felt like I really had a handle on their dynamic and what it might look like in an established relationship. Also, it includes the line, "Sweetheart, are you jealous of the cat?" which makes me giggle every time I read it.

slow burn, whump, domestic fluff

Slow Burn: A

It's a good time!! This may not be everyone's definition, but I really like a complicated slow burn where the characters fuck early on and the slow burn is primarily emotional, or where they're angsty exes who eventually get back together (or fail to do that), or where the slow burn centers on/results in bringing a third party into the relationship. I am a sucker for established relationships, I guess, and the way that pining can manifest in that context.

Whump: C

I enjoy reading/writing H/C (esp if the comfort is delayed), but usually in tandem with other things. I'll read a whump one shot now and again, but I tend to like it most in a longer fic where it forces a confession or confrontation at a pivotal moment. I have no problems leaving a character alone and bleeding on the floor, at the end of the day, as long as it's not...gratuitous isn't the right word, but sometimes the way people write whump is really not a vibe for me.

Domestic Fluff: F

This is just never something I want lol. I don't read fics that are straight domestic fluff. I will read fics that have an element of fluff, but not when that's the predominant note.

I cannot get over the little detail of Adar actually releasing Elrond's hand in that scene. (We can see some of it at the bottom left corner of the 1st gif, his grip is already loosening after Elrond drops his weapon; see the 2nd gif for comparison.)

My interpretation is that he is so sure of his greater strength and advantage, and that Elrond doesn't have the ability to fight back/no more knives up his sleeve (so to speak), that he lets Elrond have full autonomy of both of his hands. Mind you, Adar hasn't even lifted Elrond up yet and Elrond could have still fought back multiple ways (using his legs to struggle etc) at this point.

And then Adar proceeds to lift him up, hold him up, choke him and throw him aside like it is nothing. One-handed. Showcasing his physical strength but also retaining the ability to defend himself should Elrond suddenly manage to fight back.

imo, this and his fight with Arondir really show what a unit he is in battle. And that he is aware of it.

I am pretty mesmerized by his worn out black armor. I believe its ridges represent a river, maybe not Glanduin but something older, maybe from Valinor before his fall, idk.

It also reminds me of Ookū’s character Mizuno Yunoshin whose kimono was black with a river embroidered in silver thread and it showed a feeling of both frugality and good taste.
