Amethyst: So in high school i found out the man who i grew up thinking was my father legit wasn’t and went off looking for bio dad. He is super cool! I love him and his wife/my stepmom ( i call her mama) and their dog!✨ but i bring this up because i found out i am greek! So I’ve been trying to connect with my heritage!✨🏛️ i have been trying to learn greek; I’ve been learning about the mythology and history and culture! And honestly being a Hellenistic Pagan is a way for me to further connect with that side of me! I love it! Got an email to fill out a survey on the concept of tumblr Premium and related features, and while I'm assuming that I'm not supposed to talk about it too specifically in case some things mentioned in the survey aren't fully implemented, the features listed as possibilities sound pretty solid. Limit increases, monthly benefits (both for the user and as gifts for others), special badges and decorations, etc.

There were no features listed that are already available for free, so they're genuinely looking at offering new features for paid users rather than following in Xitter's footsteps and locking existing features behind a paywall. Likewise, nothing listed would be obtrusive to the current tumblr experience or unfairly favor a paid user over a free user any more than dropping a few bucks on a Blaze already "favors" the person being Blazed. (Which is up for debate, since that whole feature is literally "LOOK AT MY POST, BOY" and is one of the most tumblr things that tumblr has ever done.)

I was extremely leery going into the survey, because "premium" features these days are generally not premium at all, but I'm feeling very positive about the upcoming features now. Overall—and I say this as someone who has worked in webdev and digital marketing, used to pay for icons on LiveJournal for multiple RP accounts, currently pays for ad-free here, and has been doing beta testing for so long I once had the personal email addresses of both the founders of deviantART—it sounds genuinely good! Nothing anyone can't live without, but a good number of fun things that would actually be of interest to the tumblr userbase.

Now I'm just waiting to see how many of the features floated in the survey wind up in the final package, and how much that package is going to cost.

Important question

So a while back I sent out this annonymous survey asking about TOH fandom and shipping stuff and I got a decent amout of responses, which was great because I could use them in my video essay. The only thing is, I just now realized that I didn't A. Say in the description of the survey that these responses would be used in a video essay, or what they would be used for in general and B. Have a consent form asking if it's okay for me to show their responses in my essay. All of the data is annonymous, so no one would be in danger of being harassed if i DID share the replies, but I'm not sure what to do here. Im talking specifically about like, personal stories people have shared, not numbers/data (I've asked them to document any harassment, their opinions on ships, how they think fandom has changed over time, etc. I'm going to use the statistics anyways, but I'm more worried about like. Written responses)

I'm torn between 1 and 2, but I think 2 might be best? But I wanted to get other's opinions on this before I go ahead because I really don't know. I totally dropped the ball on this one :///

yes i am! (technically) its just that ive been pretty busy recently so I just...don't really have the time or energy to answer asks / draw something. I also struggle a lot with finding motivation to draw in general haha (bitter smile)

but i think i might have a bit more free time in a couple days so! let's hope I'll be able to do something by then lol

yes actually! the reason i haven’t done it yet isn’t because of lack of members, but more due to how relatively new the server is! by the time i ran the first edition of the dsmp one, the server had been running for a good while, meaning there were a lot of different headcanons, interpretations, etc of every character. since the qsmp is much newer, and a munch of streamers are just now getting mcyt-ified and hybrid-ified, i felt it’d be best to let things simmer for a while to get the Full Range of possibilities. to me, running it now feels like the equivalent of running the dsmp one before the election arc. we didn’t even have goat!tubbo back then! i gotta give them some time to play in the space, yknow? especially with the fact that more people will be added, as opposed to the dsmp having been fully stagnant at the time.

until that point comes, i’ve been making sure to keep a running tab on the most common variants i’ve seen! here’s a sneak peek of what i’ve collected so far :3c
