The Painted Lady turned around slowly, deliberately, and stared right through each ghost present in the room. Then, she raised her hands in a graceful arc, pointed loosely at the ceiling, and chanted, “Well, off you go.” She made a shoo, go away gesture, the spirits disappeared, and—wait. The spirits disappeared.

Izumi comes back in For the Spirits Chapter VI: Dream of You. Zuko has a mild panic attack and her upbeat attitude does not help him (or does it?).

Just what is she up to? And what is the meaning behind the blue eyes from Zuko's dream?

I read a Hound Ruby fic recently called I can almost hear the Hounds that I really enjoyed and it got me thinking about these two again.

Something that's been on my mind since I last drew them was that I wanted to find ways to distinguish Penny's look more from her usual appearance; she has the red lights and the twisted ahoge and she was scraped up a bit but I wanted to go further.

So I'm leaning more into the cyberpunk nightmare that is Penny's existence. While with Salem she probably looks as I drew her previously but once they leave they lack the resources to keep her in top shape in the absence of Watts' or military funding.

So wear and tear take its toll and they end up needing to use less than optimal parts as replacements; maybe they can scavenge parts from the Atlesian Knights on occasion too. The result is: she ends up looking more obviously mechanical.

Demons have possessed me and the voices urged me to make a crossover au between my two favorite indie games at the moment, Hyper Light Drifter and Cave Story. Unable to stop them, and having not much else to do this summer, behold doodles that probably no one else but me will particularly care for.

Despite being from pretty different games, the two actually have a lot more in common than some might think. Also I think they would be good buds. Pals, even. They would sit together in a comfortable silence.

Despite knowing very little of the zonai (at least the game doesn't provide much from what I've seen so far), I have a theory/headcanon regarding their magic. In game, we hear singing in the shrines and when Link descends into the depths for the first time with Zelda/goes to fight Ganondorf. These voices seem to be associated with Rauru's magic in some form, which has lead me to think what if zonai spells were songs/music based? The vocals we hear are essentially the voices of the ancestors/people of the past.

The voice we hear prominently in Rauru's magic sound feminine to me. So along with the theory that these vocals are from the ancestors, the person the descendant is "closest" or "most attuned" to is the singer we hear the strongest vocals from. They are the ones channeling energy/lending their strength the most. For Rauru's case, they would be a female/feminine-leaning zonai.

So based on my theory, I drew this doodle of Rauru meeting the ancestor he is most attuned to in a sacred realm of sorts, possibly during the time he's learning to use and strengthen his abilities. The design for the ancestor is still a WIP but it's a good start for me. I'll probably make this a full piece another day.

Still can’t believe Ken only got one episode. He was introduced in one of the most important episodes of the Highbreed arc, was hyped up by Ben and Gwen for the first half of the episode, was kidnapped and turned into a DNAlien, forced to attack his grandpa, sister and cousin while also finding out for the first time about their secret powers and the existence of aliens and then thought he watched Grandpa Max die (which I imagine he might feel was his fault since he was the bait to lure Max in). The writers really gave this guy the most traumatic weekend of his life, mentioned him in 1 line in 1 other episode and then yeeted him out of existence.

What makes this situation even worse is that this all happened before Ben’s secret identity got leaked and the existence of aliens was common knowledge to the public. He wouldn’t even be able to go to a therapist as his story essentially boiled down to ‘being kidnapped by aliens’ and ‘experimented on’ (mutated into one) No one would ever believe that.

I really hope the Plumbers put some kind of support system in place after the Highbreed war ended for everyone who was turned into DNAliens.
