Still can’t believe Ken only got one episode. He was introduced in one of the most important episodes of the Highbreed arc, was hyped up by Ben and Gwen for the first half of the episode, was kidnapped and turned into a DNAlien, forced to attack his grandpa, sister and cousin while also finding out for the first time about their secret powers and the existence of aliens and then thought he watched Grandpa Max die (which I imagine he might feel was his fault since he was the bait to lure Max in). The writers really gave this guy the most traumatic weekend of his life, mentioned him in 1 line in 1 other episode and then yeeted him out of existence.
What makes this situation even worse is that this all happened before Ben’s secret identity got leaked and the existence of aliens was common knowledge to the public. He wouldn’t even be able to go to a therapist as his story essentially boiled down to ‘being kidnapped by aliens’ and ‘experimented on’ (mutated into one) No one would ever believe that.
I really hope the Plumbers put some kind of support system in place after the Highbreed war ended for everyone who was turned into DNAliens.

EastEnders Iconic Episodes:- Who Killed Lucy Beale? (30th Anniversary)
Tuesday 28th July 2020
Good evening everyone! I'm sorry for the late post, but with lock-down slowly easing. I am now back at both my every day jobs, and also looking making some huge personal changes too, it's been a busy for me that's for sure! But I am now back and I'm happy to see that the latest iconic episode to be shown was the memorable revelation as to who killed Lucy Beale? This was a brilliant, live, hour-long special episode to celebrate the soap's 30th anniversary, everyone went crazy with the #EELive! What amazes me is that it has been 5 years since Lucy died? That has flown super quick! I remember this episode was another gripping one, it was also people had been waiting for for 10 months! Who did kill Lucy? Everything was about to be revealed in this episode which originally aired 19 February 2015!
Tumblr media
As you can see from the picture above, there were many characters in the front line who could've been possible culprits. These were the ones the soap kept teasing to us ... from left to right ... Pam, Lee, Cindy, Max, Denise, Ian, Peter, Abi, Jane, Ben, Whitney, Les and Jay! As far as I know, each one had had a run-in with Lucy up until her death. But who had committed the murder?!
I love that right at the beginning of the episode, they kinda remake the opening of EastEnders' very first episode from 19th February 1985, absolutely perfect to mark it's 30th anniversary! It starts with Stacey, Martin and Kush breaking into someone's house and Stacey stating "Cor, it really stinks in here, doesn't it?!"  ... there looked to have been a fire in the house and as they make their way into the house, they find the body of Nick Cotton, (absolutely mirroring the first episode where the cast find the body of Reg Cox) ... as I'm watching it now, I can't believe the difference in Martin ... clean shaven and he looks like he has a baby face! Absolutely brilliant!
As far as I remember, it had been the second wedding of Jane and Ian ... it had come to light to Peter and Jane that it was someone in the family who had murdered Lucy. Lauren had given Jane a card to say that Lucy had been killed inside the house, but how and why? I re-watch this now and can't believe how brilliant the acting is considering it's live! Adam Woodyatt and Laurie Brett in particular are fantastic! So there look to be different things going on, Stacey realising that Dot knew Nick was staying in house and also mystery of who killed Lucy. Questions are being thrown from different directions, Ian is sat on the couch taking every bit of information in, it seems the Beale family believe Denise may have something to do with Lucy's death, as she was living at the property at the time. Ian leaves to go and find Denise but then he gets distracted by Martin asking him for help regarding Dot.
There's so much to take in, I can't quite remember what was happening with previous characters, Mick being aware of Dean's return, and then we see Lauren be sick in the sink while Abi looks over her.  Also the difference in Sharon then as she is now! Much more glamours with the long blonde hair and face full of make-up! We know what is to be revealed at the end of this episode, but for quite a few weeks Phil had been playing up, keeping secrets and having his phone ring constantly by an unknown caller! What the heck had Phil been up to? Also it looks as if Kim is pregnant with Pearl in this episode and if I remember rightly, she gives birth to her in the Queen Vic toilet with Denise at her side! I am thrilled to hear that Kim will be making a comeback when the soap returns later in the year, it's been so long since we've seen Kim. But her comeback will be one of the best, she's a character who brings such light onto the soap!
I thought it was really clever when Peter entered the Vic, everyone asking him genuine concerned questions. Asking if he was alright, where Jane and Ian were? You could see that everywhere he turned, he couldn't help but think one of those people had potentially killed his twin sister, and with everyone asking how he was, he had to get out of there! Wow, so many moments where you question if it was a specific character who killed Lucy. When Ian and Sharon were around at Dot's making sure she was okay, she explains to them both how she let Nick kill himself and carried on without saying a word to anyone and how can live in peace now she was able to tell someone. Ian's face looks as if he's worked out who killed Lucy, but also looks as if he understands that someone keeping a secret to protect someone that they love is important.
Then the scene after where Jane is on the phone to Masood is another brilliant scene! We know that Jane and Masood did have a thing for one another a while ago, whether or not it was before all this Lucy story kicked off, Masood does care for Jane ... as a dear friend, and maybe just that little bit more. But he knows something isn't right, he's convinced Ian has done something, but Jane won't tell him. I remember watching this thinking, "She has told Masood to tell Bobby that everything is going to be alright, plus she is looking so guilty when she doesn't respond to Masood, but yet also, that could just be because she knew Ian was on a mission for answers from Denise!" .... so it was a difficult one to say whether Jane knew something or not, I love how much this soap made us change our minds over and over again to who the actual killer was!
Also Denise plays a huge part in this story-line, she was living with Ian during the time Lucy was killed and this particular episode, it looks as if Ian and Denise went their separate ways and at the very beginning of the episode, she made a comment about Jane and how she almost didn't say "I do!" to marrying Ian. Denise is clearly heated up about something and taking it out on Kim! I loved that moment when Kim is in labour in the toilets and Denise goes in to apologise for slagging her off earlier, only to realise her sister is in labour and the first thing she says is "You're not due for another two months!" ... like it's her fault! Haha! Typical sisterly love right there! I also think it's brilliant when she runs out to get help from Sonia, and she is covered in cake after being insulted by Kat ... Sonia tells Denise abruptly "If she's ill i'm off duty!" for then Denise to say "She's not ill!" and suddenly it clicks, both Sonia and Tina follow Denise into the girl's toilets.
I love how there are so many people in the one room at Dot's house, talking about how they're all going to keep Nick's death a secret. It's true that each and every one of them in that room care about Dot and none of them are willing to let her get in trouble with the police, I believe so far, it's the best kept secret in the square, it's true that Nick's death has never been mentioned since!! Does anyone remember what's happening with Kat during all of this? She makes a show of herself in the Vic, assaults Sonia and then she's weeping to Stacey on the bench, saying she tried so hard ... has this got something to do with Alfie? As we see, before she kicks off on Sonia, she goes to head towards Alfie in the Vic, but Sonia comes in her way. Was this the time they briefly broke up? Was this during the time Alfie was engaged to Roxy? If anyone can remember, please let me know! I do feel for Kat sometimes, I love since she's been in the square, we've learnt so much about her past and her character. To me, Kat and Alfie have always been the iconic EastEnders couple ... before Mick and Linda! I always thought Kat and Alfie would be together forever, they were literally soul mates ... and for some horrible reason, they keep falling apart and getting back together months later!
Did anyone else see the episode of Secrets From The Square last Monday (20th July 2020) of Diane Parish and Tameka Empson? I loved how they described Tameka filming that childbirth scene during the live episode, Tameka was hilarious how she explained it. They'd count down from 5 until they were due to go live and she'd leap into the sounds of labour and then stop and relax as if nothing had happened seconds later! I thought it was brilliant! You can see in these live clips how everyone's performance is shining through! Now, we see Dean has creeped into the Vic ... what is doing back in the Square? I'm assuming he has already raped Linda before this, which is why Mick is wanting to keep Linda unaware of Dean's presence being back in the square. Dean takes out what appears to be a petrol can, from a bag ... your mind suddenly races, is he going to threaten to set the Vic alight?!
Okay, so if i'm right in thinking ... the moment when you see Ian walking towards his house, alone in the street and Mick calls to him to come back into the Vic to celebrate his wedding. Is it the moment where Ian knows something? He knows that someone in his household killed his daughter! Hense why he asked the question to Mick, "Have you ever killed someone?" "How long can you hide it until you crack?" I believe that was the moment everyone kinda thought "Hold on!" Ian knows! Is he about to confront the person who killed Lucy?" It's a bit of an awkward conversation for Mick, but it's amazing to see how Ian knows who it potentially could be! Even Mick clicks "You know don't you? You know who killed Lucy?" I remember thinking "Oh shit!" Hahaha!
Awwwww early stages of Martin and Stacey!!! Martin leaning in to give her a kiss and she backs away, clearly he hasn't been back on the Square long! It's incredible to think how far they've both come within the past 5 years! Awwww and there we have it, Pearl being brought into the soap, I remember panicking thinking the poor child hadn't made it when everyone was silent, and then there comes the babies cry and everyone is celebrating! It's amazing how many different emotions have happened in this episode, a birth and the revelation of a death! Simply amazing! I also want to point out that Patrick is slurring his words, this would've been his slow recovery from the stroke he had! I remember worrying thinking Patrick wasn't going to survive, but I am thrilled he has been on the soap for so long! I don't think the Square would be anything without Patrick!
Ahhh so this is a very memorable moment, we see Phil is waiting for someone, looking at his phone in a deserted area and decides to head off, but before he leaves a taxi pulls up! I remember thinking who the hell is he meeting up with? Most guessed it might've been Grant or Lisa?! But Oh My Goodness no one expected it to be Kathy!!!!! What an iconic memorable moment, and in such EastEnders style, slowly walk up and those words "Hello Phil!" ... I realise now that the next two people you see after Kathy being revealed is Ben in the pub with Jay, and then Ian on the swings ... how amazing that editing is!!! Kathy arrives back to Walford and both her sons are shown not having the foggiest idea that she's back!!! Brilliant! I can't applaud the writers enough, I just thought it was so so clever!!
Another face no longer in the soap is Vincent, and yet when Kim is being taken to the hospital with her new born baby, he looks on from afar ... it's sad that Denise and Kim have this fall out. If only Kim had known Vincent was there! I still think he should've made himself known and then Denise would've swallowed her words and Kim would've had someone with her when she went to the hospital. But of course Denise never meant to hurt Kim's feelings, as we have seen in recent years Denise loves little Pearl and she has become a beautiful child on the Square.
Ah okay, so Kathy was begging Phil to let her come home, am I right in thinking that he had known for a while that Kathy was alive? This secretive behaviour with Phil had been happening for quite some time, and it wasn't completely known what he was getting up to. It's amazing to have such an iconic character return on such an epic episode! At first Phil refuses to let Kathy come back as it would mess up Ben and Ian's heads, but before she leaves, she begs him to let her return! Next minute Peter is approaching Denise claiming that it was her, even calling her a bitch! Denise has absolutely no idea what is going on, luckily Ian interferes before anything kicks off and basically states to Peter that he has got it wrong and leads Peter away. It's not going to be long now until the killer is revealed!
Oh gosh, Nancy walks into the cellar after also smelling something dodgy, she walks in a Dean grabs her from behind. She shouts out to her Dad and Mick walks in to find Dean holding on to his daughter. They tell him not to even think about setting the Vic alight, Dean decides to let Nancy go as his argument isn't with her, he states all he wants is the Vic. I remember watching this on the edge of my seat. Does anyone remember what Dean was like before he became a rapist? Before he returned! He was a bit of a teenager and everyone seemed to fancy him, perhaps a little bit off the rails but nowhere near as bad as he was now, he had become such a brilliant villain and to be honest, I found it incredible to watch! How had he been transformed into such a hated character?! Brilliant script writing! Mick and Dean are both talking, Dean claiming that he's not a rapist and what Linda had said was all lies, Mick doesn't believe a word and grabs a fire extinguisher from behind him. Nancy informs Dean that Shriley, Dean's Mum, is in the Vic with everyone else ... this briefly distracts Dean and Mick takes his chance and goes for Dean with the extinguisher, forcing the lighter out of his hand, only to then knock him backwards, onto the floor and step on his throat, almost choking Dean. Nancy drags her Dad away as Dean lies there lifeless, I remember thinking, "Oh crap! Has he just killed Dean?!"
Oh how sad! Dot being sat in the back of a police car and saying goodbye to her son. That was a moment I think everyone didn't expect to see. She didn't kill her son, not really. She just didn't help him. There is a difference isn't there? Dot had gone through years of abuse from her son, it was about time he got his comeuppance. Even though she was his Mum, she loved him dearly and she would've done anything to support him, even if he was in the wrong. She was only doing what was right as a mother, everyone knows that! I can't recall much of Dot's story-line, but I'm sure she wasn't in jail ... and even if she was, she wasn't for long.
Oooooh I remember this! Everyone in the Beale household approaches the phone as it rings, but before anyone can answer it, it goes to Ian in the cafe. "It's me ... I know it was you who killed Lucy. Get everyone out of the house. I'm coming home!" .... WHO WAS HE SPEAKING TO????? I remember shaking, i'm shaking now reliving it! Everyone was desperate to know who it was! Peter, Jane or Cindy? They are the only possible 3 people it could've been!!!! We see Ian walk into the house on his own, no one in sight until we hear footsteps coming down the stairs, Ian picks up a picture frame of Lucy, turns around and says "Tell me exactly what happened that night!" ... to JANE!!!! I remember gasping! I didn't think at all it would've been Jane, I didn't quite believe it to begin with, but as we know, the next episode revealed that she was covering for Bobby. Bobby was the one who actually killed Lucy. Jane would've done anything to save her son from being in trouble with the police. I just remember being gobsmacked ... for 10 months we had no idea who had killed Lucy and for it to be all unravelled the way it was, was absolutely brilliant! Am I right in thinking that it was 2 live episodes that covered the reveal? What an epic way to celebrate an anniversary!
I loved these episodes so much and I'm thrilled that the reveal of Who Killed Lucy was chosen as an iconic episode, because it really was iconic! The reveal of a death, a birth, a return from the dead ... it had everything! We have just had the 35th Anniversary, I know it's a way off yet, but I can't wait to see what big plans they come up with for the 40th Anniversary! If it was anything as big as this then i'm certain it'll be epic! I've loved seeing the cast all the way through this episode and seeing what they were like back then, it's sad seeing characters who are now no longer in the soap ... Abi, Lauren, Tanya, Dot, Nancy, Lee, Dean, Fatboy, Christian, Carol, Vincent ... it's wonderful to see all these familiar faces! It makes me sad that some of these brilliant actors and actresses aren't in it anymore! I would love to see so many of them come back, wouldn’t you? Out of the ones I have mentioned, who would you like to see return to Albert Square? Please feel free to message me, I’ll always reply to your comments! I believe the next iconic episode to be shown will be the Christmas episode of Max and Stacey's affair being revealed, another brilliantly written episode! I can't wait to write up about that one!
I hope you've all enjoyed this post, I can only apologise on how late it is. I'll be back with the follow up post of the iconic episodes very soon! Thanks again everyone, look after yourselves xXx

Hey love your PMM DRv3 au, I was wondering who do you think out of the magical people would witch out first? Additionally, assuming Kokichi wasn't the first and learned that he would one day become a witch, do you think he'd handle that well? Love your work~
Okay, so first, thank you so much! I love hearing when people like my work!
Second, sorry for this novel I wrote in response, but whatever, I had a lot to say!
Short answers: Ryoma or Kokichi would probably witch out first, then Kaito. Kokichi never handles things well.
Long answers under cut.
Wildcard option: Kiibo already witched out from the start and Miu “brought him back” a la Kazumi. Not sure if this is “canon”, but I kind of like the idea.
---
Putting that aside, probably Ryoma. I assume Kyubey would approach him after his family and girlfriend were already dead, right when he was looking for revenge, so his killing spree would probably be magically-assisted. If he still went to jail for it, then he’d witch out really fast with no access to Grief Seeds. If he wasn’t caught or went on the run, then he’d still be in bad shape considering the massive trauma, lack of a support system, and suicidal thoughts.
I think his low self-worth and general lack of motivation would lead to him either not seeking out witches to fight or pulling a Sayaka and running himself ragged in a self-destructive rampage. Either way, his days would be numbered. If Miu’s group managed to pull him in (probably after Kaede joins/takes over) then he’d do better, but considering the way he tries to push others away…
---
The other top choice is Kokichi because he’s fighting alone and thus using lots of magic and at constant risk of injury, but also traveling with DICE, so he can’t move freely and has to worry about collateral damage and others targeting them to get back at him. So, the worst of both worlds. (And don’t even suggest that they should contract too or he’ll–) He’s nomadic, so he has no safe home base, and he’s constantly poaching off other people’s territories, so he definitely ends up fighting them and wasting more magic.
He’s also way too paranoid to have made a wish in any circumstance but an utter emergency, so he knows he got a raw deal even if he tries to pretend otherwise, and there’s no way he wouldn’t notice stuff like the similarities between Soul Gems and Grief Seeds and the way certain magical people just seem to disappear right as a new kind of witch appears. I think he’d sort of treat Kyubey like Monokuma (pretending to get along and have complementary goals, not openly working against him) and avoid directly asking him for confirmation so that he can keep on living in denial. But eventually he’d run into someone desperate, someone who’d really needed that Seed he took or someone who had nothing left and just wanted to take out their emotional pain on an intruder, and then…
How would he handle this knowledge?
Badly.
Specifically, I think he’d keep repressing his feelings, but even harder. It’s not like he didn’t know before, but now that he knows…. Well, his Soul Gem probably isn’t looking too great.
He would absolutely never tell DICE about this (just like he’s not telling them about the Familiar thing, or the literal Soul Gem thing, or how he can’t seem to keep his Gem as bright as before, or…), but he might end up mockingly telling another magical if they got him pissed enough and kept asking questions. He hates being cornered, especially about something he genuinely finds upsetting.
If confronted by someone else who already knew or just found out, he’d fake having always known and totally not caring at all. Just keep faking it even harder, hiding everything better, and escalating to more outrageous and insensitive behavior until everyone wants to fight him on sight. So, basically a time bomb.
Despite all this, I’m not sure he’d actually witch out.
He really dislikes murder, being controlled or forced into bad situations, and other people messing with his head, not to mention that DICE would probably be the first people caught in his labyrinth, so turning into a witch would be like the ultimate nightmare scenario. The clear better option would be to destroy his Soul Gem before he transforms.
But I also see him as afraid of dying and only willing to do that when all other options have been exhausted. He’s also totally willing to let or make others hurt him, but doesn’t tend to directly hurt himself. So, he’d be running at the Soul Gem equivalent of 5%-20% battery for weeks or even months, trending downwards but not willing to definitively say that this is the point where he has to give up and die.
Of course, living with your Soul Gem clouded impairs your thinking and makes all your negative emotions worse, so he’d get more paranoid, more secretive, more confrontational, more out of control…. Eventually he’d be avoiding everyone, and then just realize in some back alley that he has no Grief Seeds left and he’s at the point of no return.
I think at that point it’d all depend on who, if anyone, found him and how quickly they reacted. He might get them to kill him, kill himself, get caught/distracted and witch out, or even get out of it alive if someone is really fast with a Grief Seed (or relatively clean Soul Gem, if you go for that headcanon…) and good with rapid-fire, improv therapy sessions.
---
Kaito is probably the next most likely to witch out because he also tends to repress his emotions, keep up an image for others, and try to handle things on his own. He’d probably be dealing with some jealousy over Shuichi’s growth and some stress over keeping up with school while hunting Familiars and Witches, but I think he’d manage right up until he starts to learn the kind of stuff Kyubey didn’t mention.
He’d persevere through the ‘Soul Gem is your soul, body is essentially dead’ thing (especially if his body was previously not that healthy….), but not the witch thing. I feel like he would stubbornly insist that witches come from “curses” and refuse to even consider any other options right up until someone witched out in front of him. So, a huge, ideal-shattering revelation followed immediately by a surprise fight against an enemy he doesn’t want to kill, then guilt over not saving that person, guilt over killing all the other witches, terror at the thought of telling Maki and Shuichi, fear of transforming and hurting more people…
He would absolutely pretend the person just died fighting the witch, and avoid mentioning the revelation to Maki and Shuichi at all costs. I think he would honestly delude himself into believing he could just hold out and magically make everything better right up until he broke down and witched out in front of them.
(New timeline Kaito would probably be fine with the Law of Cycles thing as long as he can frame it as a heroic sacrifice/reward kind of thing. Maybe even a little tempted by the Godoka cult stuff?)
---
Kaito witching out might just take out the whole group, but if the others manage to not sink into depression (or just straight out get killed by his witch…) and to follow what Kaito tried to teach them (Not what he did, mind you. What he told them to do.), then they’d probably end up forming a permanent group with the HimiTen duo.
They’d do alright as long as Tenko realizes that she can’t always prioritize cleaning Himiko’s Soul Gem over her own and stops trying to hide when she needs it more. I think Shuichi and Maki would actually tell them about the origin of witches, and it would be really upsetting and stressful, but not totally devastating like finding out right as someone you love becomes a monster you have to kill.
---
Meanwhile, the Kaede, Miu, Gonta, and Kiibogroup (Kamigoki?) is shockingly stable. They have enough people to not send everyone to every fight, so they can manage the other parts of their lives, and they have a wide enough territory to support all of them Grief Seed-wise. Also, strategy-wise, they have close and long range plus whatever tools Miu invents, and Kiibo can fly to gather info or get a better angle to shoot.
Kaede is pragmatic enough to accept that sometimes you have no options besides killing people and Miu prioritizes her and her own over strangers, so I think they’d be able to withstand the witch revelation even if they weren’t happy about it.
Kiibo tends to go along with the group unless he has major objections, and he kind of has this stubborn belief that things will turn out fine in the end if you can get through all the terrible things happening now, but he was already sensitive about being perceived as non-human…. He might go no-antenna mode and decide to destroy Kyubey to end the system or even pull a Mami and try to take out everyone’s Soul Gems before they witch out, but I honestly think the others could stop him and talk him down before any major damage came of it (Killing Kyubey is a group project!)
Gonta would be really upset, but could probably be convinced that defeating the witches is the best they can do to honor the people the witches used to be. Also, fighting witches and familiars is still tangibly doing something that stops people from being killed, so he wouldn’t feel useless and get desperate like in the game.
Ryoma wouldn’t be that affected because he already saw himself as a killer (plus blunted affect from depression). I mean, he wouldn’t be in a great place mentally, but it wouldn’t necessarily be a worse place than usual.
---
Angie’s cult (Angie, Tsumugi, Kirumi, Rantaro, and Korekiyo) already know about the witch thing, and the Familiar thing, and the soul outside of body thing…. And probably the entropy thing? They’re really co-dependent and groupthinky, but stable. I also see them as having really useful special powers (something like Oriko’s for Angie, illusions or transformation for Tsumugi, finding/tracking things or people for Rantaro… maybe healing for Korekiyo if he wished to cure his sister?) and getting paid in Grief Seeds to use those powers for other magicals.
They generally believe that witching out is just part of the balance of life. Every wish has a curse, you hurt as many as you save, etc. (New timeline beliefs are probably more along the lines of proving yourself worthy to ascend from this world and join Godoka). Rantaro is a little unhappier when thinking about how that applies to his sisters, and Korekiyo is very, very interested in other people’s reactions when they find out, but none of them is in danger of experiencing it first-hand unless they get separated.
I feel like the group could withstand one or two of the members witching out (as long as they weren’t Tsumugi and Angie) without losing faith, but any more than that would permanently destabilize them. None of them could actually last on their own at this point, although it might be possible to join another group.

hmmm... Au where Mina is related to one of the members of the RFA? owo Would anything change?
@personifiedchaosx / send me an au and i’ll give u five (5) headcanons / accepting !!
general.
this is assuming she’s related to them by being a cousin of some kind. maybe close, maybe not-too-distant, but her parents taught her to love her family so she’ll treat them like siblings.
begs her family member not to tell anyone who she is or what she’s done in the past if they know.
is way more protective of them than the romantic routes. she takes family very seriously.
definitely wants to hide who she is ( this would lead to a bad end fyi ) but comes to realise it’s not good for anyone if she does that.
much less likely to get a bad end since she’s too excited at the thought of having some family to even think about hurting them. even though she preaches family is who you choose, she lost her whole family when her parents died, so this is pretty big for her.
specific headcanons under the cut. spoilers for each route, including v and ray!
j aehee.
jae probably knows all about mina’s past, and because of this mina’s hesitant to talk to her at first since she’s not ready to confront it. but, they’re both isolated from the family, so mina warms up to her quickly when she realises jae either pretends not to know or actually doesn’t know.
she never realised what happened with jae’s aunt and she’s furious when she learns, but there’s nothing she can do about it. all she can do is offer eternal support and take care of her.
and boy, does she take care of her. she’s fiercely protective of her only surviving blood relative, and she actively argues with j umin whenever she notices jae’s stress levels rising.
she gets along really well with z en. she’s good at balancing teasing him and sweet-talking him, and she makes sure to get reserved tickets to his shows for special occasions, because she knows jae will love it.
jae route exclusive - they still open the café together, and it’s only then she reveals to jae who she is. she’s scared as heck to do it, but she trusts jae to be understanding. mina doesn’t hesitate to do it, and it becomes famously known as being run by ‘ two sisters ’ which they laugh about all the time.
z en.
she’s so shocked to see his real name in the chat when it pops up. so that’s where he’s been!  and she immediately looks up his acting history, pondering whether or not she’ll tell him who she is because she knows he ran away from their family.
the first phone call is awkward because she can’t hide what she knows. it comes out gently, and eases him into the revelation of their relation. finally, she gives him the name cheonmi and that’s when it clicks. she makes him swear not to tell anyone, but it’s clear something’s passed between them.
they’re already so close just by revealing who they are to each other. mina’s hesitant to call him out on his narcissism because she knows what he went through with his family, but when she tells him to dial it down, it’s when he’s at his most extreme.
she loves seeing his photos, whether he’s posing or it’s a slice-of-life picture. it reminds her she’s still got someone left and she once even teared up at seeing him so happy and carefree. that never happened again - she sees way too many pictures to get emotional about it.
z en route exclusive - when she stays at his, they spend their time catching up and exchanging stories. she insists on riding his motorbike ( just a lap around this part of town, i swear i’ll take good care ) and she goes through with him what he’s going to say at the party. it’s then she realises she’s good at regulating and organising him, and she offers to become his manager immediately after his speech. why? because she still has faith in her cousin.
y oosung / r ika.
she doesn’t recognise y oosung at first. the dyed hair thing plus addiction to games really turned her around, until he mentioned r ika. then it was a case of wait, i have cousins with the same names and click, she’s caught on.
she fell out of contact with the family before r ika died, so she didn’t even know any of this had happened. it’s a huge shock to her and, like with her parents’ deaths, she refuses to talk in depth about her.
she almost meets up with y oosung accidentally, since she works at his university coffee shop. on seeing him, she panics that he’ll recognise her and considers hiding, until she realises he’s not even looking in her direction. and that’s when she realises she has to get a grip. the next time she sees him, she waves him over and explains who she is. they get talking, and they’ve swapped gaming usernames by the time they part. she’s glowing, feeling so happy to meet up with him again.
in some routes, mina figures out r ika isn’t dead by piecing together bits of what v says ( this is more for another story tbh ) and dwelling on her own experiences.
y oosung route exclusive - she can’t look at his face while he has his eyepatch on. it’s a constant reminder of what she caused ( yes, she blames herself for it ) and it’s impossible to forget. but when she hears he’s going to become a vet? she’s inspired to go to uni as well.
s even / s aeran.
so yeah, twist for this one - she’s actually a relation of the prime minister. s even finds out fairly quickly about this, but mina’s in the dark about who he is unless he decides to tell her.
she usually finds out in s even or s aeran’s route, either when s even decides to find s aeran or she works it out towards the end of her stay in the m int e ye. she’s kind of?? highkey shocked, needs to sit down for six years kind of thing.
she wants to call her uncle and scream in his face. so badly. five years ago, she would have, but she knows she can’t. they’ve got to be smart about this, and she’s good at appearing to keep a cool head. but she makes sure whichever twin she’s with knows how pissed she is.
honestly this is like losing her parents all over again. she chose to isolate herself from his family, but knowing he treated his own children like this? if she hadn’t cut herself off him from before, she would have now.
s aeran route exclusive - she invites more people to watch z en’s announcement. she emails old friends, colleagues, neighbours, with only the caption this is about my uncle, which really gets some attention. more people tune in for the original broadcast and the good end is easier to achieve.
j umin.
filthy rich, born with a silver spoon in her mouth - but same story. parents died, cut herself off from the rest of her family, hiding in seoul. makes it a bit more surprising when she comes from a rich background.
so ofc she knows who jumin is the instant she sees his name on the chat and honestly almost turns it off there and then. why did she stay? maybe he could get her out of this mess.
she tells him everything on day 3. privately, of course, to avoid seeming like she’s after attention. but, when her name and her story checks out, she’s eager to meet him again and asks to meet. j aehee arranges it, so mina lets her in on the secret. it’s not fair for j aehee to not know.
it’s very awkward. they don’t have a lot in common since mina renounced her old life, so there’s not a lot for them to talk about, but it’s a start. mina expresses her desire to reconnect with their family, but makes it clear she wants it to go slowly. he seems to understand, and things warm up in due time. she also carries on with the encouragement and trying to help him understand herself, but of course it’s all platonic in this.
j umin route exclusive - she’s constantly encouraging him to deny the engagement to sarah. she becomes defensive about this topic very quickly, believing even j umin should have a choice in who he marries. at his announcement at the party, she’s content to let him reveal who she is as well, since it shows two cousins coming together to fight the wrong in their family. she’s really proud of her cat-obsessed cousin,
v.
okay so she’s scared shitless being in the m int e ye, so when she first meets v via the messenger, she thinks she’s just reaching. i mean, he couldn’t possibly be her cousin! though v is clearly a pseudonym, and yeah, he sort of looks like him too, she’s certain it’s her mind playing tricks on her. boy.
her parents used to take care of v’s mother after she lost her hearing. i mean, it’s what siblings do for each other, right? so mina probably met v a few times as a kid, but he was more into business than art so it’s easy to see why she didn’t recognise him.
even not in the m int e ye, she’s kind of very suspicious about this guy, just because she’s got more time to wonder if it really is her cousin. she tries to ask about it indirectly ( because she’s pretty sure if it is him, he hasn’t recognised her yet ) but she’s just left with answers that don’t fit her perception of j ihyun.
either way, it brings up a lot of memories about her aunt and parents, ones that she could deal with being buried forever. so, on this route she displays more symptoms of depression than any other, because she was closer to his family than to any other.
v route exclusive - on day 4, when the routes diverge, the only reason she goes with v is because she knows him. it’s kind of a ‘ stop —- holy shit, you! ’ moment which they don’t exactly get to deal with for a few days. because, you know. v got shot. but when he feels better, they talk some things out. mina tells him about her previous life, and how she wishes she could have contacted him when her parents died. he’s surprisingly easy to talk to.

MANGOES (2/2)
PAIR: LIN X READER
WORDS: 2805
WARNINGS: cursing (and bad writing)
GUUUUUUUUYS
HIIIII HOW ARE YOU? I’M IN THE MIDDLE OF UNI CRAZINESS BUT I RECEIVED SO MUCH LOVE LATELY FOR MANGOES THAT I HAD TO WRITE OUT THE SECOND PART. I KNOW, IT’S NOT GREAT BUT THAT’S HOW I IMAGINED THE WHOLE THING. AND SOMETIMES MY IMAGINATION IS KINDA WEIRD.
BUT I LOVE YOU ALL, I’M GRATEFUL FOR EACH AND EVERY FRIEND I MADE ON THIS SITE (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, PLUS MY LAPTOP DOESN’T MAKE ME TAG YOU).
AND WITHOUT ANY MORE RUMBLING *plays trumpet*
HERE YOU ARE ‘MANGOES PART 2′
ps. feedback is always appreciated.
pps. I love you
ppps. I know I said it earlier but I think I should say it again.
part1:  https://nesthemonster.tumblr.com/post/158519216918/mangoes-12
‘This is so fucking beautiful’ you said watching the sun almost hitting the horizon. You have always loved the Maldives, since that Geography research in fifth grade. You dreamt for years about hot white sand, transparent blue ocean and slight breeze. And being there with you dearest friends for 10 days made the experience even better.
‘I think this is the first time I’ve heard you cursing without any evident reason.’ Lin said sitting next to you in the sand.
You and Lin went to high school together, but your paths never crossed. You two spoke briefly at the ‘5 years after’ reunion but he connected more with the boys from you circle of friends and he started hanging out with you all.
It happened almost a year ago.
Almost four months ago you started texting on a daily basis.
Almost 2 months ago you started dating.
Nobody knew about the whole thing: you were object of innuendos and jokes just for being so connected. Telling them you were dating would have been like handing them a knife to cut the steak.
You loved your friends, but you needed time. You didn’t want to screw everything up. Even though Lin wasn’t so fond of your idea of ‘hiding’.
‘Jackass. See? This time there was a reason!’ you said flipping your hair dramatically.
‘That’s my sassy girl.’ He kissed you on the cheek and you stiffened up. He made a sad face: ‘The hotel is quite far from here. I don’t think they can’t see us. Unless there’s another reason why you are acting like this.’
You’ve been there for just few days and the ‘hiding’ turned out to be more difficult than you thought: back in the city you had to pretend for your friends few hours a week or on a chat. But this was different: you had to spend 24 hours acting like strangers, or at least not as you wanted. It was difficult to be next to each other but not being able to hug, kiss, touch, it was difficult to  see his disappointed face every time you pushed him away for doing something too reveling. That was the sixth time he talked to you like he was a little ‘pissed’. You knew he was right. You knew it.
You didn’t want to fight.
You wanted to enjoy you time there.
You wanted to enjoy your time there with him.
Things had to change.
Quickly.
‘Lin, we need to talk..’ you said brushing your chin with your hands.
‘What?- he stood up and started pacing in front of you- No. NO. No, no, no, no. – he had his hands on his face- Is for the ‘Puerto Rico vs Maldives’ fight we had? I couldn’t care less. We could even have spent this holiday in the city. I just wanted to stay with you. I pressured to go to Puerto Rico cause I just wanted you to see the island and to meet my family. Shit. Is this for this morning? Cause I started directing all the balls towards that prick? HE WAS MOCKING YOU FOR NOT BEING SO GOOD AT BEACH VOLLEY. And nobody can say my girlfriend anything bad. He deserved everything. He’s lucky I didn’t punched him straight in that snob nose.’
His face was red and the sun setting down made it even redder: few days of sun gave him a nice tan, enhanced by the teal shirt he was wearing. The slight shadow of sweat on his forehead made him even more handsome.
‘Lin..’ you tried to speak.
‘No, no. No. Was this because I corrected the waiter yesterday? But I know how much you hate milk in your coffee! And I think everyone knows it. I think-, I think nobody noticed it. Oh, shit! Is because of that girl flirting  with me at the pool? I swear I didn’t even looked at her but if I shoved her away too quickly, the boys surely would have started asking me too many questions.’
He was freaking out. He was the cutest.
‘Lin, please. Could you let me speak or at least calm down?’ you said while chuckling a little.
‘Why are you laughing?! There’s nothing to laugh about! And I won’t fucking calm down! I can’t let the woman I love slip away from me so easily. (Y/N), I know I’ve been acting like a jerk but the fact that you are in my arm reach but untouchable at the same time it’s driving me nuts. Loving you is driving me nuts. It’s like I’m in middle school again. I’m crazy for you. And if this means I have to not eve speak to you for the next year, even though I hate the idea and keeping our relation a secret, for you I will. I promise I won’t be groddy or a jerk or pissed.  But please, don’t leave me. Please.’ He said while his eyes got shinier.
‘Did you just say you love me?’ you said standing up and getting close to him.
‘Is that the only thing you picked up? Were you listening?!’ he was almost furious and a little tear slipped on his cheek.
You catched it before saying: ‘Yes, I was. And you said a lot of bullshits. Well, not  bullshits, but you didn’t get the point at all.’ You smiled.
‘What does this even mean?’ he removed your hands from his face and took a little step back.
‘You didn’t give me the chance to end what I was saying. We need to talk-’ you started.
‘Please, don’t say it!’ he begged.
‘LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA, YOU HAVE TO SHUT THE FUCK UP AND LET ME TALK.- you screamed louder than before. And he got quiet.- Finally. As I was saying, we need to talk to the guys about us. We can’t hide anymore.’ You said in one breath.
‘Oh. So you weren’t going to break up with me..’ he whispered looking at his feet.
‘I think I would have done it you had tried to interrupt me once more.’ You smirked.
He closed the  space between you with a hug and said in your hair: ‘I’m sorry.’
You took his face in your hands to make him look at you: ‘Are you regretting saying me all that nice stuff?! I might reconsider the break up thing, then.. ’ you winked.
‘You are a monster!’ he laughes throwing his head back.
‘A monster you called your girlfriend, that you wanted to introduce to your parents,  that you, quoting your words, ‘are crazy for’?’ you laughed without loosing physical contact with him.
‘Man, you made me say a lot of stuff’ he said in his sweet voice caressing your face.
‘So, if I point out to you I even made you  say that you love me, what happens?’
‘Nothing, cause I didn’t say it.’ He shaked his head.
‘Yes, you did.’ You continued.
‘Nope, I didn’t. And I’ll make you pay for everything: all the sweet things you OBLIGED me to say and the HUGE scare.’
‘I don’t think so.’ You put your hands on your hips.
‘Girl, you’ll pay. Take off your dress.’ He said removing his t-shirt.
You stayed silent, both for the view in front of you and because you couldn’t understand what he was doing.
‘What?’ you said with your voice low.
‘I know you are wearing a bikini. And I don’t want it to ruin the dress. You look beautiful in it.’ He said putting the shirt on the sand.
‘I’m not taking it off.’ You crossed your arms.
‘Well, then..’ He got close to you and lifted you from the ground.
‘Put me down, Lin!’ you screamed laughing.
‘Never.’ He laughed.
‘I got it. You’re serious. Put me down. I’ll remove my dress and then you’ll make me pay for it.’ You said with your head upside down.
He put you down and you took off the dress.
‘Maybe we have to go to hot places more often.’ A grin on his face.
‘Don’t even start, Miranda.’ You snapped your fingers before starting running towards the sea. ‘Hasta la vista.’
‘YOU ARE THE WORST! He run besides you.
You were both laughing and you headed to the shore, running in the hot water and splashing everywhere around you.
‘You won’t catch me!’ and you smarted swimming, knowing he was slower than you.
‘You are such a pain in the ass.’ he screamed running in the water.
‘I didn’ t know you loved pains in the ass.’ you answered started swimming while he was screaming something revengeful you couldn’t perfectly hear.
After swimming for a while you stopped and started floating on the water, waiting for Lin to catch up.
You didn’t know how much time had passed when you felt something around your ankles sliding you under the water.
You tried to get up and you grasped a shoulder, his shoulder.
‘Lin! That wasn’t fun.’ you remerged for the sea wiping water away from your face with one hand while the other was around Lin’s neck, his hands around your legs kept you fairly near his waist.
‘I told you I’d make you pay for that.’ he said.
‘You little sh-’ you started saying when a wave almost crushed on you: you hung onto Lin’s body tighter with your hands and legs, while he put his hands on your back, your  bodies collidying.
‘You ok?’ you said checking on him and trying to keep your breath normal.
That was close, very close. You could feel his chest with yours, you could see the little drops of water between his lashes, you could see the reflection of the sun in his eyes, you could feel his heartbeat.. Damn, it was loud!
‘Lin, is this your heart?! Are you ok?’ you asked putting your hand on his chest.
‘I-, I just-, Oh man, that’s embarrassing! Guys should worry about boners not heart beating too fast!’ he hid his face in the crook of your neck.
‘Ehi! That’s not bad.. I think.. Maybe I should be the one worried about this..’ you said chuckling awkwardly.
‘(Y/N), if you are implying you’re not hot, you are completely off the road.’ he said putting a strand of hair behind your ear.
‘If you say so…’ you whispered  sultrily in his ear.
‘Why do you enjoy making me suffer?!’ he laughed.
‘me?! You’re the pain in the ass, Manuel.’ you said.
‘Don’t call me like that.’ he side-eyed you.
‘Or what?’ you asked in a teasing tone.
‘Or I’ll do this’ and he kissed you with such vigor you were astonished at first, then you kissed him back with the same strength.
All of a sudden you hear a lot of scream and a distinct “Get it, Lin!”. The both of you looked towards the beach just to see your friends cheering, screaming and clapping.
‘Yeah, maybe we should tell them.’ Lin said smiling.
You were brought back to reality by some little screams and people cheering as their loved ones crossed the gate. You started looking for a beanie and a pair of Reybans. Then you found him. He saw you too.
You started walking towards him, just to be fully running towards your husband few moments later.
He did the same.
You hugged as you hadn’t seen each other in a life time. It felt a little like that.
‘You know that hiding behind the “Fun Home” beanie is useless as you wear it every time?’ you said in his coat. It was something stupid to say, you did know it. But it felt the right thing to say.
You felt him nodding.
You took a little step back and broke the embrace.
‘Honey, are you alright?’ you asked putting your hand on his chest.
He nodded.
‘You sure?’
He nodded again.
‘Did you cry on the plane?’ you asked knowing him too well.
‘I did marry the right one.’ He said removing his glasses and reveling blood-shot red eyes.
‘My love. Let’s sit for few moments.’ You took his hand and headed towards some almost hidden benches.
You sat in silence.
‘I -, I let myself thinking..’ he started.
‘We all did, Lin. But that means nothing. You had an Oscar nomination at 37 years old. You, a Broadway guy. You performed in front of millions of people. Damn it, you got Micheal J. Fox singing Eliza! I think that’s more than enough!’ you said. And you meant every single word. ‘ I’m no Academy or Grammy or Emmy, but I think you won everything and I could be more proud of you and of being able to call you my husband.’ You kissed his cheek.
‘You do know I only care about your opinion, right?’ he said smiling sweetly.
‘Isn’t that the only option?’ you said pretending to be offended.
‘Ahahah. You truly are the best wife, (Y/N)’ he kissed you lightly.
‘I like to think I’m the best at everything. You know, just to be sincere.’ You teased him.
‘I think you’re right.’ He put the left hand up showing the wedding band.
You both laughed at that gag for 10 minutes.
‘But if I have to be true to myself, I didn’t like a thing..’ you said stoking his leg.
‘What?- he said preoccupied, then corrected his expression- Go, and said whatever idiocy you have in mind.’ He chuckled.
‘That’s not a idiocy! You may be “an American treasure” but you’re mine first. All those girls needs to know that. They were a little too excited for my taste on Twitter. But I did adored them when they roasted the ‘La La Land’ guys: some of the tweets made me crying of laughter’.
‘(Y/N) that’s mean! Ahaha but they do are amazing.. They have a great maestro.’  he hair-flipped and the both of you laughed.
‘Ready to come back home?We are super thrilled to see you.’
‘I can only imagine.’ He interlacing his fingers with yours and going towards the doors.
‘I don’t think you can..’ you winked.
‘What do yo me-’ he couldn’t end the phrase when all your friends popped out.
‘SURPRISEEE!!’ they screamed.
‘Oh shit!! Guys, you’re here.’ He was seriously surprised: you made your friends flew all the way to England to spend few days with you.
‘(Y/N), you are really the best at everything!!’ he spun you in the air after greeting everyone.
You laughed and you couldn’t be more happy for making him so happy.
‘She is the best at surprises!!’ one of your friends said winking.
‘So you told them and not me?’ he said in the heat of the moment.
Everything went silent.
‘WHAT DID YOU SAY?’ you said shocked.
‘Fuck. Nothing, honey. I said nothing.’ He said trying to change subject.
‘Lin, how did you know it?’ you said with a disappointed tone.
‘Man, how in hell did you do it? I’m her best friend and I took two days for me to find out!!’ one of the girls said.
‘And I thought my acting skills were improving.’ You were desolated.
‘Hon, they did improved. I had just few hints. Nothing too important.’ He said gesturing with a hand.
‘No, now I want to know what I did wrong.’ You crossed your arms pouting.
A choir of ‘yeah’ ‘spit it out, Miranda.’ filled the air.
‘Well there were three things: first of all, I discovered our bathroom has very thin walls. I heard you screaming, quoting  “shit, shit, mangoes, shit, I can’t tell him before the fucking Oscars, shit, shit, shit” or something  very similar.’
‘So you knew straight from the beginning and let me made a fool of myself?’ you punched him in the arm kinda angry.
Your friends shushed  you to  listen to the rest of the story.
‘Then you I found some wraps from mango-flavored sweets in the hoodie I borrowed you.’
You friends started booing you and calling you out for being a walking mess.
‘And the third hint?’ one of the boys asked.
‘It’s nothing. Really, let’s go home. The babysitter must be waiting for us.’
‘Nope, honey. I need to know. Besides the girls are with your and my parents. Yep, I made them come here too.’ You said sighing.
‘Ok .But you- he pointed towards you- have to promise to not get angry and you- pointing towards the group of people- don’t have to laugh.’
All of you said okay.
‘One day you were at work they asked me why “mummy keeps saying mangoes”…’
Everyone started laughing.
‘Those two little traitors!!’ you laughed ‘And I’m making another one. Man, I hope it’s a boy. Maybe I can corrupt him.’
The laughs became even lauder.
‘I’m pretty sure I’m destined to be surrounded by women, honey.’
What to say? As always, he was right.
