"Bad news?” Loki wanted to know. He tried to hide his curiosity and also his concern. You looked so sad and lost. And no, he definitely shouldn't care about you. He hated you, and you hated him. Irrevocably and to the core.

“Are you eavesdropping on me?” you asked annoyed, turning around and looking at him.

“Surely not. I just came in to get something to drink from the fridge. I just wanted to be polite.” Loki shook his head and rolled his eyes.

“ I don't need your politeness, Laufeyson, thank you. Mind your own business, okay? Where's your chick of the week? Haven't seen her for quite a while. Is she bored of you already?” You asked him provocatively and side-eyed him. You placed your phone on the kitchen counter and walked past him to take your mug from the cupboard. ‘Gosh, why does he always have to smell that good’ you thought. It didn't help to keep on hating him.

“Now you better mind your own business, poison ivy. Don't call her ‘chick’, she was a lovely person,” Loki said. You really pissed him off sometimes.

“Was? So, my assumption is right. Well, I'll get to see you on the hunt again. How lovely!” Your voice dripped with sarcasm, and a devilish smile curled your lips.

“I don't need to hunt, little apple blossom. They all come willingly, and contrary to you, other women appreciate my features and skills," Loki answered, a self-righteous tone in his voice. How much he enjoyed riling you up.

A faked noise of puking left your mouth. He was really so in love with himself and self-confident, wasn't he?

“The only feature they appreciate is the package between your legs and what you're able to do with it. At least I hope you know what to do with it, because many men don't. Are you really that blind, Laufeyson? They're not interested in you or your heart…ohhh…I totally forgot…you don't have one!” You spat, leaning casually against the kitchen counter with your eyes on him, your arms crossed over your chest. You were absolutely aware of how hurtful your words were, but like always, they left your mouth quicker than you could think about it.

“You might not understand it, but I've needs sometimes, and yes, I need them to get satisfied. Maybe you like it, but I don't like to be alone all the time. By the way, don't you have needs? What are you doing with them? Sweat them out?” Loki laughed condescendingly.

“Oh, surely I've needs but I'm not whoring around like you. I want more than just… senseless fucking. I need feelings and a heart as well. And if physical lust gets too much I prefer my battery-provided friend… if you know what I mean. No feelings, no commitment, just satisfaction,” you smirked, raising one eyebrow and licking over your lower lip. How you loved to provoke him. Men were such cavemen and such simple beings.

‘Gosh, this woman’ Loki thought. The liplicking and the imagination of you, smelling lovely like the prettiest spring flower he could think of, and your ‘ battery-provided friend’ made him instantly hard, and he just laughed lightly and shook his head. How much he wanted to fuck you senseless, how much he wanted to kiss you and get a taste of you. Hopefully, you didn't recognise the growing bulge in his sweatpants. Maybe he should fuck you out of his system. Maybe then he could finally stop thinking about you permanently. At the same time he wanted more. More of you, and so much more than just sex. “Ahh, yes and I don't have a heart. Sorry, I forgot about that, grumpy little daisy, ” he countered harshly, tilting his head and grinning sarcastically.

“Finally you got it, and by the way, what benefits do I have from a perfect, beautiful outer shell if there's no heart involved, hm, Laufeyson?” You regretted your words as soon as they had left your mouth, and you swallowed hard. Deep down in your gut, you knew that Loki wasn't the heartless jerk and playboy you'd like to see in him. But you couldn't let him get any closer to your heart and into your life. Not physically, and definitely not emotionally. No, never. He deserved better. He deserved someone better than all those chicks, and he definitely deserves someone better than you. Period. You saw him swallowing hard, and besides recognising something else, you also recognised how much your words had hit him.

“The benefit you could have might be lustful, satisfying sex and several wonderful orgasms. To get that stick out of your pretty ass, you know. I happily offer my services to you, sweet peach flower.” Oops…Did he really just offer himself to you? How pathetic of him, and definitely absolutely inappropriate and presuming. You were an absolutely great woman with class and decency, hard to get, and always keeping him at a distance and rightly so. If you wouldn't already hate him, now you definitely would.

“Besides that, yes, you're absolutely right. My shell doesn't contain a heart. See you later, in the club, my charming prickly cactus”, was the only thing he said, his eyes slightly filled with tears.

For a second, you didn't know what to reply, and you just stood there with your mouth agape. Who did he think he was? Pretty ass? Did you hear him correctly? You didn't have a stick in your ass. Not really. Your stiffness, physically and mentally, was nothing of his concern. If only he knew the reason for that. But he'd never be the one to share this problem with. You had to get along with it, not him. Also, you had to do this alone. And why would he wonder about your orgasms? How dare he! And, was there something growing in his sweatpants? Did you really have that effect on him? Would he really like to spend a night with you? You, the broken soul, the not overly attractive girl with that destroyed heart, and an injured body. He would never like what would lie next to him in his bed. Neither your physicality nor your skills in the bedroom department would live up to his expectations. Why, just… why? You didn't want to like him, you didn't want to want him. And you didn't want him to like or want you either. But maybe, just maybe he was right and all you needed was a good fuck. What's the big deal? Probably it might be a good idea to fuck him out of your system. But then you weren't any better than his party chicks and like them just another notch in his bed post. And for that you weren't desperate enough. You still had some pride. Arghh, this guy drove you crazy. As soon as you found your composure again, you fired the next words at him.

“I'll give that a miss, Laufeyson, thanks! No to all of this. And don't always give me those stupid flower names. Idiot.” you answered coldhearted and snappishly.

You placed your unused mug back in the cupboard, turned around and stormed off the kitchen in frustration. You couldn't stand it anymore. Not today.

‘Will you ever have a nice word for me?’ Loki thought when he saw you storming off. Probably not, but one thing was for sure. With mean, cold words, you were as good as he was. If this didn't go well together, then nothing did.

Snippet two:

“What was I supposed to do, hm?” Loki asked you angrily.

“Leaving me alone? Minding your own business, perhaps? I'm a big girl, I could've handled myself, jerk!” you complained.

“Yes, of course,” he spat ironically. “It has been pretty obvious that you couldn't handle it yourself anymore. This asshole touched you, and you…you…you didn't even notice it!” He sounded angry, disappointed and…Concerned?

“Of course, I noticed it. I…I..” You stammered unsurely but utterly upset.

“No, you did not! You just told me you can't remember what happened last night. So what do you think was I supposed to do? Should I've left you to yourself? Let this guy abuse you and take advantage of your situation? If that's what you want! Okay then, next time I won't help you. I'm going to turn around then, ignore you, and leave you simply to fate! No problem, you stubborn wildflower” Loki said, staring at you with his death stare. If looks could kill.

You stayed silent and swallowed hard, lowering your gaze to the floor. Maybe he was right. Maybe you had underrated last night's situation. But you would never tell him, also that you appreciated his caring side. You didn't deserve his care because you brought last night's situation to yourself. But there was one question that occupied you, and you definitely had to ask him even though you were afraid of his answer.

“Did we…did we have…sex last night? I mean…you and I?” you asked him with a shaky voice. Your head throbbed heavily, your throat was dry like a desert. You felt so embarrassed.

Loki just huffed in annoyance, feeling exhausted by the ongoing arguments. He shook his head in disbelief before he spoke again. “No!” he stated convincingly and seemingly emotionless.

Was there also some disappointment audible? Certainly not, you surely imagined it.

‘You better get a grip again, girl’, you told yourself.

“Why did you bring me here?” You asked him quietly and less upset and wondered which answer he'd give you.

And the farm au! Oh my god it lit up my brain like nothing else… and cause I too love angst…

Bunny Charles and Arthur being used to being spoiled bunnies, living the high life, all luxurious life but then their dom realized just how needy and dependent and expensive keeping two bunnies are and they do the equivalent of dropping them off on the side of the road in a box… so now poor bunnies are out in the cold harsh world and just don’t know what to do…

They just start walking back in the direction of home because maybe Dom made a mistake? and forgot them? But it’s a long cold walk and when the sun sets they see a warm light in the distance - your little cottage and farm, gardens full of yummy food and a welcoming warmth.

You wake up to two bunnies curled up in front of the fire place, covered in dirt with tear tracks

Or maybe you have a stall in the local farmers market and one day you hear just gut wrenching yips coming from the nearest alley and when you check it out — cat!max is there hiding and nursing a broken tail. Maybe his dad was yanking on his tail as a punishment and it broke/sprained it and max lashed out and ran away. Obviously you can’t leave poor kitty by himself, so you grab some of your supplies and spend the day slowly getting max used to you to allow you close enough to bandage his tail up. When you finally do that, he’s just curled up in your lap purring and out of his mind on catnip and genuine love and care and he just follows you home when you go to leave

Or maybe your farm is in an area with a lot of hunters and you’re taking a small hike cause it’s a gorgeous day for when you hear pained howling. Wolf!pierre and Carlos are caught in a bear trap or up a tree in some netting and it looks like they’ve been there for a while. You quickly get to work in getting them free and coax them to come to your house to fix them right up.

Or maybe you finally feel that you’ve settled nicely into your new farm and decide that it’s time to think about finding a hybrid for company. Maybe it’s luck or maybe it’s fate but you meet the pair of cat!oscar and dog!logan - they’ve bonded and won’t be separated but everyone they’ve tried stay with only wanted one not both…

I've had this ask in my askbox for months and oh my god every time I read it I get obsessed. I hadnt answered it yet because I knew I needed to set aside quite a bit of time because I knew this would be so long 😂

Here is the link to the original post so you don't have to search the URL, I'd suggest giving this a quick read for context if you're confused. It's very short but does explain it all :))

Right okay so the general premise is this: you own a farm in the hybrid!au with all sorts of drivers that come along and join. We can do this as a poly type thing or we can do it just as you run a farm and one driver comes along, whatever you guys would like to discuss! I think I'll tag everything with 'farm!au' but then also add 'poly!farm!au' to any posts that involve any sort of poly situation.

All of the stuff discussed by the anon above are just so so so perfect!!!! I'm gonna discuss each idea in a bit more detail each under their own heading and then we can go from there :))

BUNNY!CHARLES AND BUNNY!ARTHUR:

Aw poor little bunnies!! My immediate thought was that maybe their original caretaker/owner had died and they were handed over to whoever their dom has chosen and that was very much the wrong choice. They do try to get along with their new caretaker, of course they do. But bunnies are by far the most high needs of all hybrids, they're social creatures and they need constant attention or else they'll get sad and lonely.

Maybe bunnies need attention from people who are not bunnies as well? They need caretakers who are gentle and attentive and when their new person cannot do that and they start acting out (they can't help it!! They want attention!!), yeah they end up on the side of the road.

I definitely think for these two you wouldnt even get an option. You sort of just walk into the living room and two bunny hybrids are sleeping next to the fireplace.

CAT!MAX:

I love the idea of finding Max outside somewhere like at a farmer's market. I think maybe his dad left him there not to abandon him but to teach him some sort of lesson? Max is just curled up trying to keep quiet and waiting for his dad to decide he's had enough punishment and come fetch him. You manage to convince him to come home with you, promising him that you just want to get him into some nice clean clothes and get a good meal in him and then you'll call his dad for him.

Except well... Max feels so safe with you? He keeps on forgetting himself and purring or gathering blankets. He's never felt this warm and cared for. You offer to let him stay the night and the next morning you're supposed to call his father like you promised but well... Needless to say that never happens.

WOLF!CARLOS AND WOLF!PIERRE:

I feel like these two would have started out as enemies but they were forced to stay together? Like maybe they got separated from the rest of their pack and only had each other. They became much closer and got used to just the two of them. They don't trust anyone else. They manage on their own and are almost feral?

But then one of them gets caught in bear trap. The one not trapped tries to free the other of course but they can't. It's the fear of losing their only person that leads them to come into your yard. Maybe they had seen you quite a few times? Like you live on the boarder of the forest and they often see you walking in your garden and in the forest and you always seem calm, so the one not trapped comes to find you.

You follow him to the other one and help free him. They try to scurry off but the one is too injured. You convince them both to come back with you and let you care for their injuries. And they just never end up leaving?

(hello dsmp!catholicism anon here... sorry for another long one)

i just finished ouroboros... waow!!! that house is alive and it loves you so fucking much it can never let you go...

when i read the ending it felt soo much like the ending of rgu to me (if you've seen that) except ofc dream goes back. but there's maybe a little more for dream than there ever was for anthy lol

for my requisite christianity/religion fill, i thought sam's moment of thinking of pilgrimage in context with visitation process sooo interesting. the implication that sam thinks of himself as some sort of monk (of course!)

but also (funnily enough) i took a course about pilgrimages and one of the things we were focusing our discussion around was this idea of 'contesting the sacred', which is to say that pilgrimage produces the sacred by virtue of the fact that it takes up space (like, if you're at a sacred site that holds importance to multiple groups, the fact that all of these groups might make similar passages makes the underlying theological claim more valid, by virtue of needing to be contested. if that makes sense!)

+ that line of "he just wants to be dream"—each person (quackity, bad, even sam to some extent) is bringing in their own interpretation staking claim over dream just adds to his religious value. and he thought if he was out of sight he'd be out of mind!

this ask is a week or two old (sorryy) but it is crazy that you sent this when you did because i literally started an rgu rewatch with my partner like, maybe a day or two before this ask popped up in my inbox. serendipity. i have some dsmp/rgu au art floating around somewhere on this blog but i guess i didn't tag it bc i can't find it anymore whoops

monk!csam is so funny to me, he'd look so stupid with one of those little monk haircuts <3 actually i think he's very paladin-adjacent, or at least sees himself that way. i'm thinking like, multi-class artificer/paladin? morally gray character who sees himself as lawful good, on a holy mission to protect the server by keeping dream locked up (<- oversimplification but let me have this ok)

ur pilgrimage lore is cool and i think you can sorta apply this to dsmp in that some canonical holy sites (church prime) are sort of legitimized because multiple characters acknowledge them as holy, or at the very least as powerful (thinking again about tubbo and dream's interaction at church prime on nov 16th and about the lads baptizing tina, which i talked about here). i especially love tina's baptism because it's like...iirc this happens while dream is in prison and has been in prison for months. he's thoroughly disgraced. a number of characters have either voiced their condemnation of him, or are complicit in his condemnation by not speaking out against his imprisonment etc etc. c!sapnap has (i think) already visited the prison at this point and told dream to his face that he deserves to stay there. and yet, sapnap still chooses to help baptize a new server member at a holy site founded and consecrated by dream. even at dream's lowest point, the other characters (even characters who hate him) can't help but legitimize this religion he co-created. crazy!!! they were insane for that!!!!

as for that last bit --- yeah, a lot of the conflict surrounding c!dream is spurred and/or exacerbated by this habit other characters have of projecting their worst anxieties about power onto him. i shared some thoughts on this here but many of the other characters seem to view dream as this quasi-mythic figure from the beginning, which is an inherently dehumanizing way to look at someone. c!dream is consistently othered by the perceptions of people around him, which makes it really easy to demonize him in later story arcs.

Rules post and how to Request

Here you can find rules on how to request both short headcanon posts as well as one shot requests! I highly recommend that you read through this post if you're new in order to get a feel for what to expect from this blog! If any clarification is needed don't be afraid to ask questions!

First of all: Welcome to the Silly Corner!

Here you can find canon x reader posts for all sorts of fandoms! As of now I only write canon x reader- any oc x canon or canon x canon is more than likely a prize request for a raffle (keep you eyes out for those!)

You can find both short headcanon posts and one shots! Woah!

The queue:

With few exception, this blog runs on a queue! Usually two to three posts will be posted in a day- unless of course something has prevented me from writing. This is mostly to pace my posting to keep from flooding a tag... and in general this blog! So when sending in a request keep this in mind! In cases where the queue is long it will be bumped up so (hopefully) everyone will see their request in a timely manner!

Will Write:

Fluff and angst and platonic! This blog also isn't just romance- if you want something where two characters absolutely loathe each other that's allowed too! We love exploring dynamics here!

AUs are also allowed however if you are asking for an AU someone else has made, I ask that you at least provide a source where I can find info! Though... admittedly if it's a large intricate AU the chances of the request being taken on are lowered

Lightly suggestive requests are allowed HOWEVER! While I have yet to draw a specific limit, I will notify you when a request teeters too close to NSFW. In which case I will offer the chance to send the request to my NSFW blog (you MUST have your age listed or you will be be blocked. Asking to be unblocked here will result in a block on this blog as well)

Readers with traits! Though I ask that you limit to a small handful as too many can become overwhelming. I'd say max three or four depending is fine! I do NOT write ocs on a regular basis. You may ask for a reader that shares some traits with your oc though so long as you're mindful of the trait limit

One last thing! Some characters are strictly limited to platonic! These characters are typically marked in their respective masterlist!

Will NOT Write:

Really it never hurts to ask. I'm open to writing all sorts of topics but it truly depends on two things: the context/what's being asked, and my current mental state. HARD no's will be requests where the character being shipped with the reader (whether romantically or otherwise) is an active abuser. Or vise versa.

On top of this active SH is not allowed, but anything that is healed and/or off screen is mostly fine. Do not ask for a canon watching the reader harm in the moment. Suicide follows similar rules.

NO concealed kink. I may not be the most observant but it can be easy to tell when someone is trying to subtly ask for kink hcs for themselves. I do not kinkshame, however I ask that you ask for my NSFW so I can write it over there (once more your age MUST be included or I will block both here and there if you push or find it on your own)

General no hard stuff- r!pe, inc3st, ect.

Generally I write a lot of stuff and will try to let you know when I am uncomfortable with something. But here's a short list of common requests that will get denied that don't exactly get covered in the above: human!readers for cult of the lamb specifically, any requests displaying active violence and/or death/death adjacent (IE. Abstraction from tadc) scenarios happening to child characters (that said ghost children characters ARE allowed so long as the violence is not actively depicted)

As of 4/30/2025 I no longer take character based readers UNLESS I already know the character they are being based off of. If you are unsure you can always ask, I will say if I don't know them well enough. This is mostly due to the fandom wiki becoming more and more of a hassle to use.

How and Where to request:

So long as the status in my bio says it's open you're free to send in requests! All requests must be sent in through my inbox. Any sent through a comment, reblog, or PM will not be answered. The only exception is if for one reason or another the inbox needs to be open (ex. there was a supposed raid and the inbox was closed out of safety)

I ask that you limit your characters to 3 to 4 characters! There are some cases where it will only be limited to 1 for a post (alphabet prompt posts and most one shots). This is to keep myself from becoming overwhelmed! One big post is one thing but it piles up when there's several!

You may send in about three requests/asks, and I ask that you be mindful to not spam or rush me. If you feel your ask was eaten you are free to ask about it! Sometimes tumblr sucks- other times my work pace is slowed down... never hurts to ask!

Naturally, one shots take longer to finish!

You can also find a list of what fandoms I currently/have ever written for in my pinned!

Additional thing- if possible please please 🙏 summarize a request and shorten it-- it's harder to keep track of longer asks in terms of detail if it's a wall of text 😭💔

General boundaries:

No spam- both in request and pestering. It clogs the inbox and makes it harder to navigate, especially if it's not a request

If you had been blocked on my NSFW and come over here to ask to be unblocked you will be blocked here

While my AO3 is currently SFW as of 3/5/2025, it will eventually be mixed. I preemptively ask that anyone under 18 does not interact with the AO3. There is nothing special over there, all of my SFW fics are cross posted here. While it will be harder to monitor that, I ask that you respect this boundary

As of 4/30/2025 the only way to gain easy access to the AO3 is to directly ask me. Please have your age in bio before asking otherwise I will refuse to hand it out

Please do not guilt trip me for not writing your request/getting to it faster. You will get one warning and then your request will be cancelled.

I can't believe this needs to be said but do not follow me to my other blogs to ask about your request status. I do these for fun and for free, you have no right to follow me to my personal spaces to harass me.

since people apparently cant be formal im going to be: we dont use "q!" cuz people kinda dont want to talk abt the server, only spiderbit/guapoduo, so they decided to use "g!" or only "!", and when people are refering to other series they use the first letter of the series for example: "c!roier", i myself dont quite get the g!/! and understand why u dont like people not using "q!" when the universe they talking abt is qsmp

(people saw u complaining abt it here and start to shit on u without any context on twt and saying u complained that q wanst appearing in other fics even tho im pretty sure i didnt when ur distancing urself from him so i wanted to be formal :])

I can try to explain myself, but I'm also kinda crying answering this because I have a hard time with emotion regulation when I'm upset (autism thing)

OKAY! SO!

I don't really mind the new tag things? Like, I don't love them, but they're fine. If people want to distance themselves, that's fine. I'm distancing myself. Anybody who's been keeping up with my blog over the past half a year or so can see that I haven't really posted about the QSMP at all since Purgatory started. I haven't talked about Quackity at all outside of that shitshow of an awards ceremony in over a month when, for several years, I was a Quackity-centric blog (2021-early 2023)

My thing with the new tags, and with the Guapoverse thing in general, is that it really just isn't accessible for a larger audience. Sure, some parts of Twitter might understand it, but what about the rest of us?

As far as I can tell, the Guapoverse originated with a Twitter artist (Moone), and it blew up overnight. And I'm overall cool with it! It's a little silly, but so is fandom. I'm a fanfiction writer. Who plays Splatoon for like 4 hours every day. I know silly, and I love it

But then, BAM, I blink and everybody's abandoned the q! and they're changing their tags on Ao3 and making everything suddenly so much harder to find, and it's all about accessibility, isn't it? Like, don't get me wrong, I love a good multiverse, but when it inadvertently excludes a significant portion of the fandom, what are we supposed to do?

Like, say I go on Twitter looking for q!Pac fanart. But now it's so much harder to find because it isn't tagged or typed that way, it's !Pac, and that includes search results from every single au that has a ! in it, like if there was an au called AU!Pac? The !Pac would be in there. But I don't want to see AU!Pac, I want to see q!Pac.

And then there's the g! thingy. Like, that's fine, but a little more widespread of an explanation would've been nice. Like, what au does g! stand for? If you don't know what Guapoverse is, like A LOT OF PEOPLE don't, what are we supposed to think your art is? If we're looking for q!Cellbit art, we aren't necessarily going to like and retweet your art if it's labeled as g!Cellbit because we don't know that he's q!Cellbit.

It's kind of similar on Ao3, only that one's a little different because you can filter by relationship. But let's say you don't know how to do that. Let's say you're new to the website and you only know how to filter by fandom, because that's the first thing you learn how to do on Ao3- it's right there at the top of the front page: Browse By Fandom.

So you go to the QSMP tag looking for fics with Spiderbit/Guapoduo in them. But, here's the thing, you can't find any. Because they aren't being tagged QSMP, they're being tagged Guapoverse now even if the fics are being set in the QSMP setting.

It's just a general lack of fandom accessibility that gets me. I understand the distancing aspect, and I've been waiting for it to happen since the Elections when he Brazilian fandom started getting IMMENSE amounts of hatred from Gringo Chats. But it gets a little tricky when you're part of a fandom as large as this one is. How are we all supposed to share content and talk about things with each other if we can't even find each other anymore?

Like! I've lost so many cool fics I forgot to bookmark because they were taken out of the QSMP tag and moved into the new one! (The new one goes against ToS btw I believe, but go talk to a tag wrangler about that.)

People on Tumblr don't know what the Guapoverse is. TikTok doesn't. Reddit doesn't. Only Twitter does, and only a section of Twitter does. Because I haven't seen any English or French-speaking Guapoduo People talk about the Guapoverse, only Portuguese or Spanish-speaking people. And I get that the exclusion isn't purposeful and that the Guapoverse is meant to sort of heal everybody from the wounds the QSMP left, but I think that maybe even just spreading the news and not... you know... sending death threats and insults and smearing people's names would be better than this.

Year-End Writer's Round-Up: 2023

It’s that time of year, writer friends — time to take stock of what we’ve been up to this year! Words written (published or not, WIPs totally count too!!): 999 496 — ARGH IT WAS SO CLOSE TO A COOL MILLION. I did this calculation on the evening of Dec 31 and I was like DAMMIT I NEED TO WRITE A DRABBLE LMAO. 😂🙈 Honestly, I’m surprised the word count was so high this year — I could have sworn my word count had dropped because I wrote very little for a few weeks after BG3 first came out LMAO!

Smut scenes: 42 — I've done better LOL. I’ll blame the slow-burn BG3 ships I’m working on currently. 😂

New things I tried:

I started dabbling in M/M smut this year, in the context of my beloved Horizon F/M/M polycules (Aloy/Drakka with either Kotallo or Nil). Usually when I write F/M/M threesomes, the focus is on the men pleasing the lucky lady of the group, but I headcanon Drakka in particular as being very unapologetically bi, so it’s only fair and right that he get some sweet M/M action. I’m looking forward to putting this M/M practice use on Halsin/Tav/Astarion when my BG3 writing finally gets to that point!

This was also the first time that I wrote an AU where I gleefully yeeted the canon deaths LMAO. I’m usually a stickler for adhering to significant plot points including character deaths, but the dastardly and darling @iamcayc nudged me into writing Here Come the Dreams, where Varl and Fashav both get to live, and it was a total delight to keep those darling men alive and happy.

I wrote a smut scene in first-person POV for the first time, using the adorable voice of Karlach from BG3. This was a particularly interesting challenge because I feel that the first-person voice calls for a more urgent in-the-moment kind of narration, which means that I had to alter my usual way of writing smut in terms of phrasing/wording and pacing, so it was a fun challenge!

With Astarion/Tav/Halsin, this is my first time writing an OC who falls in love simultaneously with two people, and it’s been… interesting trying to negotiate the polycule coming together. Of course I had to get enamoured with (arguably) the two most emotionally complicated male LIs in BG3 and make my own life difficult, LMAO. I’ve been struggling a little with bringing the relationships together and it’s been slowing my writing down over the past month or two, but I’m trucking on because I love both Halsin and Astarion and I really do believe in the dynamics of the OT3. SILVANUS GUIDE MY HAND AS I FIGURE THIS SHIT OUT.

Fic I spent the most time on:

Even The Hardiest Desert Blooms! I really sank my focus into my beloved Desert boy this year and wrapped up his fic, which is always a bittersweet feeling when you adore the pairing. 😭

Fic I spent the least time on:

Burning Blue (Karlach/Dammon). I was bitten by a sudden bug of adoration for them, and that piece basically came together in a day and a half because I was on fire to get it out. I LOVE THIS PAIRING SO MUCH. 😭🔥

Favourite thing I wrote:

Even The Hardiest Desert Blooms has always been my self-indulgent pleasure because I just love Drakka to the moon and back, so focusing a lot of this year on his fic was a treat. But Here Come the Dreams was also an enormously fun project because I just went ham and hyperfocused on it for a month and a half. I really wanted to see if I could finish it in a month just for shits and giggles, but AS ALWAYS it ended up being longer than anticipated so I didn’t meet that goal, but it was still a total ball to come up with a fun little project and finish it as quickly as possible.

Favourite thing I read:

Hands-down, without a doubt, What’s A Sex Tape Between Friends? by @auntie-coagulant. I don’t read much fanfic, and when I do, it's only for the ships that I don't write. So when I saw this fic recommended in the Kotallo server and I was like “Travis/Lis?? You have my attention.” My eyes were popping and I was HOWLING by the first chapter, and I’ve been dead in the water for this fic ever since and procrastinating on finishing the fic because MY EMOTIONS ARE NOT READY FOR THE HEARTBREAK.

Writing goals for next year:

Finish Coming In Like A Western Wind. I’ve been sleeping on this fic since September because Astarion and Halsin turned my head and I feel really bad about it… but I do mean to finish it!

Just keep on keeping on with my BG3 fics for Astarion and Halsin! I’ve been DYING to write smut for Halsin for months, and I have images living rent-free in my head of Astarion enjoying some very tender sensate focus, so let’s hope I get around to writing these scenes before I explode.

fanfiction is worth way more than you might think it is. here's why.

something i don't think anybody ever talks or thinks about is how fanfic helps writers develop incredibly useful skills and tools in the same way that prompts, worksheets, and studying literature does. (i actually think it's much more accessible than many of those types of supposedly helpful methods to build good writing skills. fanfiction makes the possibilities limitless while building upon media that people love and really connect with. you can find whatever you want if you use the right tags in AO3.) to illustrate exactly what i mean, i present these points:

*NOTE: if you're not familiar with fanfic terms, i'll define them as i go! i'm also an AO3 user, so i'll be using that as a basis for a lot of my thoughts.

it’s a really helpful way to get a grasp of how to keep characters consistent in a piece, since you have to work with characters that already have established personalities, backstories, habits, and character traits that carry over from their source material. this can get a bit tricky when writing AUs (alternate universes) or canon divergences (hopefully self-explanatory) in particular, but if you acknowledge that characters are OOC (out of character), this can solve that issue pretty quickly and as long as you make everything make sense within context, you're golden. not only that, but you can fix any flaws that you perceive in a character by adding in your own headcanons (personal ideas/beliefs about a character) or by creating realistic traits in that character that don't exist in canon but make sense for the character. this also works for expanding upon canon traits that are never explored to their full potential in canon.

a great example of this would be tony stark in the MCU. a lot of fanfic interpretations of his character put a stronger focus on his anxiety and PTSD, since the movies hint at those traits existing, but don't do them a lot of justice. another good example that's a bit more broadly applicable is LGBT+ or neurodivergent headcanons. if you really identify or kin with a character and feel that they have a certain orientation, gender identity, or mental disorder/condition, you can make it happen! this often has the great side effect of opening up a lot of possibilities for writing those traits into that character and how they affect the world and other characters around them differently than in canon.

you can think of an almost infinite amount of different scenarios to put characters and story events in. i mentioned AUs and canon divergences above, but there are also fanfic tropes like everybody lives/nobody dies, kidfic, time loop/time travel, role swap, missing scene, and even omegaverse (i'm not explaining that one to you, you're on your own pal) that offer different possibilities for putting characters and story events in all sorts of circumstances and contexts that differ from canon. (continuity soups are one of my very favorite examples of this technique. in a continuity soup, an author working with a franchise that has multiple different continuities can cherry-pick aspects of each continuity they like and smash them all together into a single world. this technique works especially well with transformers, which has, at this point, almost a dozen different continuities that are in fact all canon at the exact same time.) a writer doing this learns how to translate certain necessary story events into a completely different world, or can come up with a whole new world, storyline, or context on their own to play with plot, conflict, characters, and story events.

there are a near-limitless number of AUs out there, and every AU that is widely used comes with its own set of tropes. tropes are another useful tool for writers, because they can either be cliche or they can actually be very helpful for building a compelling plot or for introducing characters in a certain way. there are even fanfic genre tropes that exist, like hurt/comfort, fluff, whump/angst, slow burn, enemies to lovers, dead dove do not eat, crackfic... the list goes on!

writers who have difficulty writing things like romance, intimacy, emotional turmoil, injuries, sci-fi, or magic can easily learn a lot from how different fic writers write those topics (and many others). there are tons of fics that focus a lot on one specific genre and whose authors have developed a really great understanding of how to write those genres. not only can you learn a lot in terms of how to write genre, but you can also learn to develop your own writing style. this is one of the reasons why i think fanfiction is a lot more accessible than traditional books and classics. sure, you could read danielle steel novels or fifty shades of grey (which is itself fanfiction!!) or 1984 by orson welles, but unless you're really invested in the worlds being created, you'll find it harder to appreciate the prose. and, a lot of fic writers are not professional writers, so they don't even care about prose! (this is a broad generalization, and i mean "prose" in a more academic sense because i am literally studying rhetoric and prose for my bachelor's degree. not a lot of fic authors are breaking down writing styles for dialogue, diction, or sentence structure. they just write what they love writing and often develop their own styles out of that, which is also just as valid.)

i myself have definitely not been reading as many books in recent years as i've read fanfics. i go through fanfics like wildfire through a dry field. finding fic authors i love reading has really helped me improve my writing style! not only that, but i feel confident to try writing real romances with kissing scenes, to use actual scientific language to describe in-text phenomena, to describe magical objects and worlds with more clarity, and even to try my hand at writing smut. i've learned to break out of my comfort zone thanks to fanfiction, and it's helped me become a much better writer.

developing a writing style through reading other authors' work is much like developing an art style. any artist knows that you're encouraged to create your own style by mashing together traits from other artists' styles you really love and making them into something that's wholly your own. writing works the exact same way. one of my professors last semester had us do an "apprenticeship" with a short story collection written by a certain author to open us up to styles we like and don't like. she said that's how you create your own style, by figuring out what you like and what you don't like. i've been doing this with fic authors for years, and let me tell you, there are some real literary geniuses out there.

fanfiction helps writers learn to accept criticism as well as suggestions for what to write next. one of the hardest parts of being a writer is having someone read your work and tell you there's something wrong with it. your peers do it, your professors do it, editors do it, publishers do it. i've had the great privilege of participating in multiple writing workshops as part of my university education, but it can be really, really hard to find or create writing workshops outside of an academic setting. sites like AO3 cut out the middleman and bring authors right to their audiences. anyone can leave kudos on a fic if they liked it, and anyone can comment on a fic and chat directly with an author. i know for a fact that most authors regularly check and read the comments sections on their fics for feedback, criticism, and requests for what to write next. you can't necessarily do that with big-time authors like stephen king; you’d have to send a letter that may never be read.

the closest thing this system of interaction comes to is voice actors hopping on twitch streams and taking requests from viewers to say all kinds of things in-character. (this actually has the added benefit of inspiring new and interesting fic ideas.) the community on AO3 is genuinely one of the most accepting and welcoming internet spaces i've ever existed in, with possibly the exception of tumblr. fic authors really value feedback, and they love when people leave comments. sometimes they write fic just for themselves, but sometimes they do it for their audiences too! there's a really deep appreciation for source material and fanon (fan canon) alike in the world of fanfiction, and a lot of that is fostered in the author-audience connection. this is invaluable as a beginning writer, because it can help establish criticism as a valuable tool and not something to fear.

it can be scary when you put so much love into something and people don't like it. but fic readers are some of the most encouraging, wonderful people ever. you can trust them to offer valuable feedback and actually constructive criticism.

in short, fanfiction is a bit like placing a kid into a sandbox that only has a select few toys in it and letting them play however they want. so much creativity can come out of working within certain restraints, and it can really help you develop a lot of skill you might not develop otherwise. more aspiring writers should write—or at least read—fanfiction so they can reap some of these benefits. i wish it were more widely discussed in universities, at the very least, because there is so much to learn from fanfiction.

and if you really think fanfiction is only for gross internet weirdos, i remind you of fifty shades of grey being fanfic of twilight, or that city of bones, the first mortal instruments book, was originally a ginny/draco fanfic. i don't even need to mention the sheer number of more recently published romcom books that are based off of reylo from the star wars sequels. plus, if you really think about it, most modern shakespeare adaptations and homages (10 things i hate about you, leo dicaprio's romeo and juliet, the lion king) are fanfiction! there's no shame in making media of what you love. there's no shame in loving anything in the first place. do what makes you happy, and chances are you'll learn something along the way.

The Club

Pairing: Mafia Levi x Mermaid Reader

Tags and warnings: Future AU, fluff, falling in love, scars, past physical abuse, healing, blood, mentions of violence.

Concept: Levi and his gang raid a club and find many of those working there were abused by the gang that had run it. While investigating the club that was now his, he sees a tall big tank in the middle that goes up many floors, inside was you. Levi takes care of you and keeps you employed at the club. Now with a better life and hope, you get to know your new boss and you both fall in love.

A tooth flew through the air with blood closely following. A body slammed into the table causing it to smash and glass to cover the floor. Irritated, the creator of the pain in the broken body on the floor clicked his tongue. Smart shoes stepped on the glass around the broken man.

Pleads and begs came out of the mouth of a man with teeth missing, blood and spit flying out. With arms raised he hoped his life would be spared, but the man above him was angry. He saw no mercy in the cold steel blue eyes that looked down at him.

With a calm mind and a choice made, a gloved finger squeezed the trigger causing a bullet to rip through the man's hands and finally through his head. The room went silent as the pleas for mercy stopped. Peace filled the club.

Levi sighed as he felt his head throb. He pinched the bridge of his nose before putting his gun away and investigating the club. As his men checked the bottom floor, Levi was more interested in the grand tank in the middle. He climbed the stairs to the top floor for VIPs only and saw the top of the tank was open.

The top of the tank had a resting area on a fake beach. Around the tank was seating, as if something was to entertain them. Levi was aware that supernatural beings were used as entertainment, he was also aware that this club had a mermaid.

Levi took a seat before leaning on the edge and looking into the water. "I'm not here to hurt you. I want to help." He reached down and put his hand in the water. "You can drag me in if you want." He dragged his gaze over to a little cave used for hiding. He smiled softly when he saw movement. "You can bite me too."

Levi's eyes widened when you slipped out of hiding. His heart raced in his chest as you moved through the water towards him. He felt nervous and flustered all in one. You were so beautiful in his eyes, like a goddess. He held his breath when you rose out of the water and leaned on the side right in front of him.

You tilted your head and hummed. "You going to hurt me like the old boss?"

"No."

You grabbed his hand with your webbed one and started reading him. "There's a lot of goodness inside you." You sighed a moment. "So, what's your plan with me?"

He held your hand and smiled. "I would like to keep you."

You hummed a laugh. "I'd like that."

He pulled you closer. "You're really pretty."

You blushed at his words. "Thank you."

He moved your arm out of the water and inspected you. "What are these scars?"

"He would beat me, taze me, burn me and cut me."

"I'm sorry."

You sighed. "You didn't do it or make him. You don't need to be sorry."

"Do you have a home?"

You whined. "You're looking at it."

Levi reached over and grabbed you before lifting you out of the water. "This won't do. You'll have a new place. For now, you'll live with me."

You gasped and felt flustered. "Hey, I need a towel!"

Levi saw your tail slowly turn to legs. "Oh, shit." He sat you down and grabbed the guest towels and gave it to you just in time. "Sorry."

You hummed a laugh and wrapped it tightly. "Thanks."

Levi looked over your scars all over your body. "Tch, fuck. I'm glad I killed that fucker."

"Thank you for killing him. He was trash."

He scooped you up and smiled. "Let's get you to my place to relax."

"Thank you again. What do I call you?"

"Levi, you?"

You smiled and said your name. "Nice to meet you."

You danced in your tank for those watching. You laughed as joy filled your heart. You were actually enjoying your job now and Levi was being so sweet and kind to you. You spent as much time as possible with Levi and it was wonderful that you lived with him. You were supposed to have your own place, but two months on and you were still with Levi.

You smiled when you saw the VIP light come on, which meant Levi wanted to see you. Levi wouldn't let anyone go into the VIP room anymore, it was just for you and him. You felt something for Levi, so whenever he wanted to see you, you swam to him fast.

You shot up to the top and smiled brightly. "Levi!"

Levi leaned on the side and smiled back at you. "How are you?"

"Better now you're here."

Levi blushed. "Tch, flirt."

You leaned up and smirked. "That's right." You sighed as your lips almost touched Levi's. "I like you."

"I like you too."

You tilted your head. "No, I really like you."

He gulped hard. "Me too. Can I kiss you?"

You purred. "Please do."

Levi crashed his lips against yours and moaned against your lips. He tangled his fingers in your wet hair and pulled you against his body. He didn't care that your wet breasts soaked his shirt. Levi just wanted you as his own. He bit your bottom and tugged a little.

Levi pulled back and sighed. "Fuck, I've been dying to do that for so long."

You moaned a little. "Me too. I want to pull you into my tank and show you so loving, but there are people here." You giggled at Levi's blush. "We can have fun at home, right?"

"Of course. I'll spoil you at home."

"You spoil me too much there."

He hummed in thought. "No, not enough."

You lifted up and sat on the edge of the pool with the end of your tail in the water. "Can we keep kissing, or will you go into boss mode and make me work?"

Levi dragged you close. "We'll kiss all day."

"Good."

Levi ran his hand over your scales. "So smooth. I love how it looks and feels."

Your fin ears wiggled in delight. "I'm so glad!"

He leaned over and nipped the top of your fin ear making you squeak in delight. "Fuck, I could eat you up."

"Le-Levi."

He nuzzled his nose against yours. "I don't want to scare you, but I have a confession, it's more than like."

You mewled. "Mate and love?"

"Yes."

You gave him a pleading cute look. "Promise?"

"Promise." He pressed his lips against yours. "Sweet mate and love."

Prioritizing

My 2025/26 goal is to prioritize. A few months ago, I made a post where I showed screenshots of my current link sheet. I liked how it showed me lots of information with limited need to scroll, but it wasn't meeting my needs.

Ex: I kept writing more "Dreadful Burden" chapters than planned, but if I wanted to add new rows for them, I had to redo all the columns to fix gaps; it was just annoying. Once I completed the 'fic, I condensed them to a single cell on the sheet that says "Dreadful Burden x10," but it made me sad not to get the satisfaction of watching the green spread; I wanted more celebration. I can also fit full story titles nicely on ClickUp compared to the way I had my old sheet set.

Also, I have a lot of WIPs floating around that didn't even make it on the sheet. I wanted to quickly add new ideas and not worry about them taking up space or being an inconvenience to move. Preferably, I wanted to easily switch position of items if I changed how soon I wanted to work on them. I had a separate tab in this spreadsheet that was like a calendar, but since it was just rows and columns, moving items around was a pain.

After checking out multiple kanban & calendar tools (Ex: Trello, Monday, Visor, KanbanFlow, nTask, Miro, Jira, Notion, the old Google calendar I tried in 2024), I opted for ClickUp (Not sponsored).

I'm really liking it- especially how I can edit the kanban board OR the calendar and they're in sync, so deadline changes reflect in both spaces. Personal accounts are free, which I'm happy with.

Here are some screenshots for fun & fellow writer inspo... Disclaimer, this is useful to me because I use Google Docs & URLs, but it might be slightly less useful to people with Word or similar files (although you CAN upload attachments).

Yes, I poured a lot of hours into putting everything I could think of on this board- There's also an "Other Fandoms" column. It was worth it.

Btw: If you want to try this tool, I suggest bookmarking your board after you make it. It's easy to lose & annoying to click around for. ClickUp is designed for teams using multiple boards, so it gets buried in the sidebar and you have to open stuff to find it. I considered making separate boards for each of my fandoms, but I'm glad I didn't. Extra context: I keep downloaded 'fics on Notion (because it lets me upload downloaded files), and it always bugs me how slow it is to scroll to the bottom when I want to add something. I like how ClickUp lets me add something new from the top, and how everything is easy to drag around. Debating making a ClickUp board for downloaded 'fics, but I have everything tagged by ship/social group on Notion, and I like how the sorting works over there. I think it would bug me to have to scroll through a ton of tags when tagging my own 'fics vs. tagging downloaded ones on ClickUp... So I think they'll stay separate for now. But you could definitely store downloaded 'fics on this.

Here is the task card for "Chalaza" - Clicking on it pulls up its title, tags, due date, URLs, etc.

Scrolling down to the subtasks I assigned, you can see my chapters:

Chapter titles, priority flags, and dates I plan to post stuff. I like it. Once you check an item off, that part of the list will collapse, but you can click a button to view them again.

You can also click on a card and then click the "assign as subtask" button. If I wanted to, I could put "Chalaza" under a card titled "Pixels Imperfect AU," which would reduce the number of cards on my board because it would be tucked under that one. I like mine the way it is, with each story visible.

Since ClickUp is a tool for teams, you'll see some features like "Assignee" by default. When you set things up, there's a setting that lets you tell ClickUp you're an individual; it will reduce some of its collaboration tools to reduce clutter, which I like, but this assignee bit stays anyway.

You can also make checklist templates (In addition to or instead of subtasks), so if you wanted to prep a list of "Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3" as a checklist and rapidly add that to cards, you can do that. I thought about it and decided subtasks are more useful for me.

Ex: When I click on a subtask, it gets its own card that can be either collapsed or expanded, and it can appear on the calendar. This is useful to me because I usually give each chapter its own document. Since the checklist is a list, the items aren't cards. You can't add links to those and they won't appear on the calendar.

ClickUp lets me link task cards together so I can see which 'fics need to be finished before I can post something else.

Ex: The reason "With Acid In Your Eyes" is on hiatus:

These are all links, so clicking the title lets me jump right to them, which is fun. I grabbed the emojis from emojipedia and they work just fine.

I have calendar screenshots at the end of this post as well (because I'm showing you guys what's scheduled for when).

The board and calendar have due dates synced, so it's easy to move stuff around (Much better than my old sheet of having separate tabs and doing everything twice).

So, that's how ClickUp works and I think it's cool; I hope you liked looking at screenshots. I spent a lot of time on it and wanted to show off what I get to look at every day :) I've been unhappy with my spreadsheets for a bit and I see myself sticking with this for a while.

I'm going back to school this fall, so I was looking for a tool that makes it easy to plan my schedule months ahead, is easy to adjust if I want to swap things around, can keep me on task so I don't write things I can't post until next year (like future chapters we won't reach in this one), and will make my docs and AO3 mystery works easy to find when I'm in crunch time. I like how even though my chapters are in subtasks, I can toggle them on when viewing the board or calendar. I like how if something on the calendar said "Chapter 5," I could click on it and it would give me the links just like the board does & would tell me what its parent task is (Ex: "Chalaza"). Yes, when I hinted previously that I'm holding onto Dreadful Burden for "a time I can't afford to be distracted," it's going up during study time & exams. The plan is that when end of semester rolls around, I won't be writing anything new and I'll only be posting, and you guys will have something nice to read before I go on winter hiatus again. I'm so glad it's DONE... I'm obsessed with it. stupid bird people; I hate them (/affectionate).

2025 Goals: Finishing WIPs

So, what does prioritizing mean to me?

Specifically, I want to finish existing WIPs and reduce the new stories I post. When I'm interested in writing an idea, I like to work on it, and then I like to post it.

I enjoy the process - I write my 'fics for fun and I like doing what I want - but I recognize this can make the timeline confusing to readers, and not everyone wants to read a timeline document to figure out if Plot Point A comes before or after B. My writing is stronger if I'm not at risk of contradicting or infodumping as well.

I want my storylines to become more approachable and easier to follow. My goal is to upload things in an order that makes it easy to follow the storyline, even if that's not the order I wrote them in. This also means trying to post all the chapters of a story in a row, without jumping between multiple stories.

Ex: Avoid posting chapters for two separate multi-chapter works for the same AU (or possibly the same fandom) in the same week. Instead, if I want two update days per week for the same AU, they should go to the same story until that story is complete. Or, I keep the days fandom-specific (My 2024 set-up).

In 2026, I might experiment with two updates per week for the same 'fic (Keeping Tuesday & Friday updates, but retiring the fandom-specific update day system). That would let me get through each individual 'fic more quickly, so it takes less time to close a project and move to the next one. We'll revisit that thought in 2026, but for now, I'm continuing the current system.

Disclaimer: Come What May is very on the fence as a goal, and will probably be moved to early 2026.

Some existing WIPs will not be finished this year, and while I'm eternally impatient, that's how it is.

If you're interested in a WIP I haven't updated for a while, kudos, comments, or asks saying you like it so far let me know people are excited for that one. You're never obligated ofc, but it does affect what I prioritize in the next year's schedule. I'm glad so many of you are as weird about the Clockers, galaxy duo, jungle duo, the celebrity kid quartet, and Anti-Cosmo's horrible decisions as I am, skdfjl.

Clean Up & Consistency

In the last year, I've been adding consistent headers and footers to my fics, as well as switching my spoiler dropdowns to AO3's new default one. These dropdowns contain chapter-specific warnings, and I've thus far added them to fics like Origin of the Pixies and Frayed Knots that didn't have them yet.

In 2025, I'll continue this process for Origin and probably other multi-chapters (the Knots chapter warnings are already up to date). It takes time to review existing chapters and add warnings, but I like that they're there.

By the end of 2025, I'd like to have consistent headers and footers across all my 'fics. Most of my 'fics already have them, but I want to take time for a thorough check and update. I like the "If you liked this 'fic, you may also like these" system I've been using for some MCYT 'fics. I'd like to expand that to other 'fics, plus bring that to my FOP 'fics; I just think it's fun.

One of the details I'd like to add to footers is a labeled link ("My update schedule") that opens my new #ridfic schedule tag here on Tumblr. This will allow AO3 readers to click it and check for recent posts about my update schedule.

Thus, I can make a single schedule or hiatus post on Tumblr and all my 'fics will have a link to the tag; I won't feel tempted to spend time editing author's notes on individual 'fics to announce if plans have changed… which is great for me since I have multiple WIPs open at once and am going back to school this year. Anything I can do to cut the temptation to open and read 'fics is a good thing.

I definitely work on my 'fics according to my own timeframe and inspiration, but I do like keeping people informed. Even if readers don't end up using it, I like knowing it's there if they want it. Because I jump between projects, an individual project of mine might update slowly, so it's nice to let people know it's not been abandoned.

I also need to update my pinned post with new What's Happening? info (since it hasn't been updated since late October). I'll do that soon after this post goes up so I can link to it.

Update Days

- I post MCYT fics on Tuesdays; my calendar is planned through December 16th, which marks the start of my winter posting hiatus - I post Total Drama fics (written 2013-2016) on Thursdays; calendar is planned 'til they're all up (August 21st is the last day unless I missed something)

Once Thursdays are done, they may become a general update day. This is tentative; I wouldn't mind going back to two days per week (Breathing room for readers & because I struggle to remember Thursday is an update day). We'll see what happens.

During 2025, I'm changing Friday to be a general update day. FOP works still have priority, but I might post for other fandoms.

Ex: In Feb/March 2020, I was planning to finish a Jimmy Neutron 'fic of mine, but I set it aside due to COVID and never picked it up again. It's not high priority, but it would also be cool to finish because it haunts me and I think it's neat. Admittedly, if I posted something for "T.U.F.F. Puppy," I would not be mad. I'm currently posting an FOP/MCYT crossover on Fridays. MCYT might also get extra posts on Fridays, as I'm still in the early phase of "I have a million things to say and I want to write while I'm excited."

I've got a lot of smaller one-shots I'd like to finish and post (Ex: 1 childhood piece for each Pixels character about being raised by their dragon mom). Maybe this will happen this year, maybe not.

There may be weeks with no Friday updates, as I won't be pushing myself to get something out. I'm always jumping between projects though, and if a short MCYT piece gets done, I might post it on Friday because my Tuesdays are booked. I've got a lot of multi-chapters I want to write in the future, so it's nice to post quick one-shots at a time they won't interrupt a chaptered project's once-a-week update day.

Ex: Dog's Life will go on hiatus after its current arc to prevent it interrupting multi-chapters for the rest of 2025... It's all part of the "make storylines easier to follow" plan. Trying to post stories from start to end right now.

Again, Thursday may also play this role. Just depends how I'm feeling. Expect nothing on Thursdays when the TD stuff is done, and if something goes up, it's a nice bonus.

SPECIFIC PLANS

Total Drama

Continuing from 2024, I'm still moving all my TD fics from dA and FFN to AO3. If you want to see which day a certain 'fic will post, scroll to the end of this post and look at Thursdays in the calendars.

For now, I'm not going to move Lyin' Queen, Beatin' Path, or Lions Under Palm Trees to AO3. Technically they're in my AO3 TD series, so they'll be the 3 mystery works at the end when we're done with the rest.

- Lyin' Queen - Staci-centric 'fic I scrapped because of a plot twist that turned out to be more ambitious than I thought. There are more chapters on dA than there are on FFN, but I feel like I need to scrap this whole 'fic and start over. - Beatin' Path - I honestly have a decent amount of it written, but I have other 'fics I'd like to prioritize. Like Lyin' Queen, this one had stuff I'd definitely scrap before I pick it up again. I'd also have to carefully rewatch some TD seasons to get these 'fics done and that's not in my plans right now. - Lions Under Palm Trees - My beloved… It got set aside because Beatin' Path needs to come first, and because of a plot point that I thought was straying outside the suspension of disbelief. If I never finish this one, I'll definitely post some stuff in Skeleton Train (my scraps series on AO3) because it has some of my favorite scenes. I love Leonard.

These are probably not 'fics I'll touch for the next several years; I'm pretty occupied with my current fandoms. Stay subscribed to my TD series on AO3 if you want updates for them someday - Maybe - but they're definitely not priority.

There are still two TD 'fics I don't plan to move anywhere. Bonus points if you remember them, but they were unfinished multi-chapters I no longer care to finish, so I don't want to put a spotlight on them. I had a one-shot about Noah at the library with his ex-girlfriend but ?? I cannot find it anywhere. I'm mad about it.

Old Works & ARPGs (2026 & 2027)

I've been playing with the idea of posting my old Mario, PMD-E, and PMDU works on AO3, starting in 2026 (ARPG stands for art roleplaying game; these are my Pokémon OCs in a Mystery Dungeon world). Maybe even some really old stuff I wrote when I was like, 12, haha. Maybe not.

I have not turned them into mystery works on AO3 and I have no interest in making that effort right now, but since my AO3 is multi-fandom anyway, I do think it could be fun to preserve my writing journey. Idk if that would turn followers away, but that's why I have fandom-specific series you can subscribe to, so you do you.

I'm going back to school this year, and Dreadful Burden is the story I'm posting during finals in fall 2025… I know myself well enough to know I'll be more focused on exams if I have a complete project ready to post at that time, compared to if I just said "I'm on hiatus." In other words, the main reason to move these old works to AO3 during 2026 & 2027 is to tell myself "You already have stuff you can post once a week, so don't work on anything new right now; only focus on school." It's a nice thing to have in my back pocket.

These works were only posted on dA, so most of my modern followers have probably never seen them. The PMD-E ARPG group was deleted years ago, so unfortunately the context I can give will be limited, and PMDU's story points will probably be similar (since these were dA groups that released event journals and then members posted their submissions).

I might toss in some "52 Thursdays" stuff, so you'd get to see some of the storyline I wrote about my sona Kima taking over after Riddle. Fun times.

If you like Mario and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon stories, you might find this stuff fun, and if you don't, that's fine. Again, this is a loose 2026 & 2027 plan, and only if I don't have stuff for current fandoms to post.

My life's work is split between a bunch of websites (not to mention old word processors that I can't open anymore; I've definitely lost some of my childhood writing, but I have printed-off versions of stories I wrote when I was like, 9, that I'll lose forever if I don't retype them). It honestly might be cool to use The Archive as an archive and see all my work in one place someday. My writing ages, but so do I, and I like keeping it safe. We'll see what the future holds… I've got no one I'm trying to impress and I'm not in a rush.

WordGirl

I'm still sitting on some one-shot WIPs (and Factor It In chapter drafts), but they are not my top priority. You might see the one-shots and you might not… I love the idea of the one-shots (and they have some of my favorite quotes & relationship set-ups), but I don't think I'll have the bandwidth for them and don't want to force it. If they happen this year, they happen, and if they don't, that's okay. Someday…

I started drafting Factor It In in 2018 and it is my baby. I do not plan to abandon this 'fic, but expect my hiatus to continue for a while. In 2023, I really wanted to branch into new fandoms, so I started posting both Factor and Dog's Life. Dog ended up a way bigger project than I'd outlined it to be, and it has priority now.

I did reread Factor in March 2025 (and reviewed my entire story outline), so it's still on my radar. I really like it, but I want to give it the attention it deserves, and that's not right now. If you stick with it, I hope you love what comes, and if you lose interest, that's okay- Thanks for checking it out!

If it stays on hiatus for several more years, I'll probably clean the outline and post it on Tumblr so people can see that, but I don't intend to abandon it.

For the record, I don't consider "28 Cities" (my 31-day October challenge about Rhyme and Reason) abandoned, but I did burn myself out by posting daily, so that's a project I want to take time for and finish in advance before I start posting again. Factor It In is also laying the groundwork for the lore about charm schools and things, and I consider it to have priority.

"28 Million Degrees" is a WordGirl character study series of mine, and you can subscribe to it on AO3 if you like.

Again, not top priority in 2025, but I have two drafts for it that have had their art in my Tumblr queue since 2023, so ^^; maybe... It would be nice to get them gone (Rex's life on Hexagon & Victor character study).

FOP

Sideblog Lore Posts

I feel the sideblog is pretty much where it needs to be. I still have a few draft posts, like one about the kids who are Poof and Foop's age, but it's like..... it's just a list of OC names; is that really worth posting at this point, or should I wait until they're revealed in story? I need to take the main blog's food & school posts and convert them to the sideblog style.

I may reblog a few posts from the main blog, such as my one about rich families in Dimmsdale and my 'fic guides for Origin and Knots. I'll make new lore posts if people have questions about the lore, but I'm feeling good about where the blog is right now.

tl;dr - I'd rather spend my time & energy writing 'fics than writing posts, but if y'all have good post ideas, that's exciting for me too. We like exciting things around here!

Sideblog Character Bios & Profiles

I moved from my house several months earlier than expected, and my art stuff (i.e. my art program, double monitors, custom brushes, templates, easy transparency options) stayed behind. I can't make new art for bios and profiles right now, but they're still on my mind. I'll probably work on text this year, and when I get my art stuff back, all I will need to do is the art and then we can move to having consistent bio & profile updates.

I have not been posting updates to "So, You're Studying the Mortifying Ordeal of Being Known" (AKA the place I post profiles & bios on AO3 as meta essays) because I'm trying to go in order, and that means the Fairywinkle & Cosma families are next on the list. I don't have those bio arts done, and it might be a while before I get there. I may visit home a few times in 2025, but art isn't necessarily a priority when I'm there.

- That AO3 has draft chapters of everything I want to post, so I DO know the order, and that helps me prioritize. - I can imagine myself getting my art stuff back later this year and doing bio art sketches without it being a big distraction during grad school, so who knows… Definitely prioritizing school

Wells family tree is still on hold until we know if A New Wish gets greenlit for more seasons; the Wells family is my lowest priority to write for. I've got enough on the to-do list that I'm not bugged about it.

I already have profile art & bare-bones drafts done for Poof, Foop, Hiccup, Goldie, Anti-Marigold, Jorgen, Dusty, Smoky, Sammy, Finley, and Longwood (plus I have sketches for Dev, Hazel, and Kevin that need lineart & coloring).

These are not high priority for me because I would prefer to write 'fics, but I might roll these out later this year (especially with Friday becoming a misc. update day instead of just an FOP 'fic day). No promises, but I'm still having FOP thoughts while posting for other fandoms :)

Dev's character profile will only go up after I finish the Dimmadome arc in my City Lights AU (AKA the "50 Words" works), as his profile has major spoilers on it. So, probably 2026 for him.

Longfics

Frayed Knots is top priority in the longfic field. Origin of the Pixies is still on intentional hiatus until Knots catches up. They will alternate updates when we get to the war chapters. I think I can get TO the war this year, but there's a huge chunk of the Knots timeline that I miscalculated, and that will take more chapters to fix than I thought.

Things will be easy once we're IN the war, because I've had that arc nearly done since 2016, but I've been saying that for years :P I'm working on Frayed Knots in 2025, so hopefully 2026 will be a year heavy on Origin and Knots updates.

Hoping to get some timeskip chapters in for Knots, but I'm super hesitant to do that because we're finally in the "Anti-Cosmo becomes high-rank so we align with him representing his people during the truce in 'Balance of Flour'," and that feels like something that shouldn't be skipped over. Things are coming along, but it takes lots of brainpower and that makes updates slow.

My FOP 'fics are usually written in past tense and my MCYT 'fics in present-tense - plus they have different tones/genres - which makes switching between them in the same week a struggle. Just slow, so I've been doing a lot of outlining... That's why I'm writing a lot of MCYT 'fics right now, because those are easy projects to jump between.

My policy for Origin and Knots has always been "They need to be complete before I consider doing major revisions." That still holds. I look at them and feel like my writing has improved a lot since I started them (9 years ago now!) There's a lot I could say about the things I do and don't like about them, but I won't do that in this post.

I'd definitely write these 'fics differently if I started them today- Sometimes I get stuck in my head about it, which makes updates a little slow. I do intend to finish them and I don't want to get sucked into revisions. If you've stuck with them despite slow updates, thank you! They WILL be finished, even if it takes another 5 years. Hopefully it only takes, like… 2 :')

If it's not your thing, totally fine, but this is the "casually introduce the lore and don't get too deep into it" style I like writing in now (compared to how dense Origin and Knots are).

I think it's a fun read with a cool focus on godparenting from a fairy's POV, and it's been a good way to remind myself that I really do like FOP lore and FOP 'fics- It's just the whole "trying to fit my current brain to my old brain on these 9-year-old projects & dense lore" bit I'm struggling with.

It's getting Friday update slots for a while, and it's there if you want it.

Come What May

When I started drafting this post, I had this on my list to finish this year- It's even on my goals card. I'd rather go all-in on Frayed Knots Act 3 and not worry about this one instead of trying to juggle both.

When you look at my calendars (at the end of this post), you'll see some weeks labeled "wiggle room." If I can fit Come What May in there, I will, but with my busy schedule, it's more likely that I won't.

I expect this will be high priority in early to mid 2026 :)

130 Prompts

I have a posting order for these I like (Refer to the 130sums page). I've outlined and scrapped the next one at least 3 times, so I've been taking a break from it.

I'd like to post several 130 Prompts this year, but I'm not going to force it. If I can wrap up the current Poof arc, I'll be content- I've put them both on the calendar for late 2025.

One of the hang-ups for this arc was the desire to write "Kisses Full of Broken Glass" (rated M) to explore Poof's struggles with The Incident event more deeply than what the strictly Gen & T Prompts project allows. I'm glad I did it so I got it out of my system, and now I feel more prepared to approach the subject in the Prompts (where he's processing things in a more censored way).

Like Origin and Knots, the 130 Prompts are a project I don't intend to abandon. It's fully outlined. When I started it in 2016, I was whipping out short pieces, and these days I like to write longer works that delve deeper into the character study side. We're halfway through!

It's slow going, but it's mine <3

City Lights AU

The plan is to get the rest of the Dimmadome "50 Words" pieces out this year, but if it doesn't happen, that's okay. Their posts are queued on Tumblr tho, so I'm itching to have them gone so I don't have to change their deadlines so often to prevent accidental posting, haha.

I have them on the calendar around November/December.

The Dimmadome arc will go up first so readers can see the shape of the AU and where we're going - it'll be obvious why - and then we'll circle back to works that take place earlier in the City Lights timeline.

I have a loose draft for Lemonade and Papercuts, which is my Dale-centric longfic, but I'd really love to get Origin and Knots finished or nearly finished before I post for that. Keep your eyes out if interested, but that probably won't be around until 2027, or possibly 2028 depending on how much buffer I want before I start posting.

Misc.

I have some Reedfilter Rules drafts I'd like to get done, but as with most FOP 'fics, it's less of a priority than Knots, Come What May, and the 130 Prompts. I'm sorry I only update this 'fic once per year. Don't look at me.

I have 1 Reedfilter chapter on the calendar in 2025.

In the background, I do have an AU called Hazel Says Hello, but that's another thing that will probably be 2027 or 2028 era… I love the idea, and you might see me doodle for it or vaguely talk around it.

I don't want to share much right now, and I don't really want to make it a priority over existing WIPs. 2025 is a year of prioritizing things that are already up, after all, but it definitely got a "washi tape art" when I was trying to guess what things I might post while away from my art stuff, so… It's up there in things that interest me.

I also have an Angela-centric draft I think is neat, and I was going to post it as a 31-days project in October, but… tbh, it's a character study/critique combo with a lot of raw emotion and personal experiences in it. It's about psych classes and the silent pain of being taught things you didn't agree with then and definitely don't now that you're older, and I think I'll keep this one For Me.

MCYT

All Tuesdays from now through December 16th have a 'fic update scheduled; scroll down to the end of this post to see my calendar. I can't promise they will all be done, but I've been pretty consistent at posting on Tuesdays since 2023, so I'm feeling good about it.

tl;dr - I'm on track to finish "Chalaza," "The Candles We Light," and "Top 10 Hanahaki Life Hacks" this year on top of my new FOP/MCYT crossover (You May Rest Now; There Are Fairies Nearby) and wrapping up the current Dog's Life intermission arc. I'm hoping to get 3 or 4 Neighborhood Watch AU pieces out as well; expect these towards the end of the year.

I have all 10 chapters of The Dreadful Burden of Plotting Affairs ready to go, and that will be out at the end of the year. These are different AUs, so check out my MCYT AU navigation page if you want to subscribe to some things and not others.

One thing I'd love to do - but am not making a priority in 2025 due to lack of art stuff - is character bios… specifically with ref sheets for the Life Series ensemble. I like the designs I envision, but poses are hard, so… It's a dream. I might do some sketchy/messy art. I do think it would be fun.

In addition to designs, these would have info like soul temperatures, birth hubs, soul slots, camera twins, AFK server locations, orientations, and past relationship dynamics. I have some private notes, but I'd like to make something nice.

I did have plans for a one-shot collection called "Under Gravity," which was going to be 1 chapter dedicated to the childhood of each Pixels Imperfect AU major character. I've since scrapped this because I think it's smarter to upload them individually instead of as chapters in a single 'fic.

These won't get their own AO3 series since they're all Pixels Imperfect AU, so they'll just go there. If you're wondering why Pix Imp gained a lot of mystery works lately, it's largely because I split these up. It's possible some of these will post on Fridays, as that's becoming a general update day, but I also might save them to build a posting buffer for 2026. They're supposed to be like 2k or less each, so I hate restricting them to main day when I have a million plot points to hit, but...

Someday, I'd like to do "50 Words" works for MCYT duos. Since my Tuesdays are booked for 2025, this is another thing we can revisit in 2026.

I would like to get my bestiaries out this year (The only things I still need to finish for Herobrine's Guide), but there's a lot that goes into them and I need more time. RIP the bird ghast I drew that I'll probably be scrapping to make more amphibious :') I gotta scrap the whole draft for that section. Or I commit to bird biology like a NERD.

I know there's another Hermitcraft Guess the Author event this year. I have some works I started last year and didn't post. I might look at them this year (if their titles haven't been revealed in previous screenshots of my WIP spreadsheets), but it's really not my priority.

Neighborhood Watch AU

I would really like to post for Neighborhood Watch AU in 2025, as I have not posted in it for a while and I like writing for it (I'm so excited for the Cornflower Waltz subseries; you have no idea…)

I've locked 3 works down on the calendar in late 2025, and I'm not opposed to getting a 4th one out if I can. That said, expect updates to be slow.

I keep picking up "Goodchild Oscar," which I thought I'd be posting next, but it just feels clunky; I still need to flesh out & explain worldbuilding details. NW is the main series I want to focus on when I talk about "posting things in easy-to-follow storyline order."

What this means: Prioritizing early-timeline plot points like Grian's parents going red when he was 4, Grian becoming Tango and Skizz's foster child, Team Ties'g splitting up (AKA Etho going red when Grian was 7), Grian spending his summers at Oscar's manor, Grian meeting NW BigB, Martyn's failed proposal to Joel, Martyn's arranged marriage to Mumbo, Crimson King beheading, etc. These are all important plot points. I think it's smart to start from the beginning and work our way back up to where "For Sale: Bird Wings (Never Worn)" left off. Once all those early story points are complete, then we'll get back to "Goodchild Oscar." I'm excited to wrap up my existing multi-chapters ("Candles" and "Hanahaki"), but since I'm only posting once a week, they took a lot of space this year. I'll make NW AU more of a priority in 2026, assuming I'm doing all right in school and can afford to spend time on 'fics.

My longfic Arsenic Waltz will cover the Cleo/Etho marriage and divorce, so that will be in there somewhere too.

"With Acid In Your Eyes" is still on hiatus because there's a ton of stuff I need to lock down before I go too far with it... My bad. I'm facing some timeline weirdness (BigB especially), and I don't want to contradict myself later. I would be sad.

I don't regret including all those characters because it's a reference to the sleepover in Secret Life Ep. 2, where they WERE there, but BOY is that a lot of plot arcs I have to align... Trying to align BigB so he can date Cleo early on and Grian later is rough. Might need to split his character into multiple like I did for Bdubs Sr. marrying Cleo (3rd Life) and Bdubs Jr. (Limited Life) playing child role. I really want him to be One BigB if I can. Ahhhhh.

The Dog's Life chapter ("Scatter") has been giving me trouble, but I think I'll have it out by the 15th or 16th. Everything else is done; should be a good April!

Chalaza on Tuesdays (nearing the end), Total Drama on Thursdays (Post-series works). You May Rest Now is nearing its end (Not sure how many chapters it will have).

That's all the Total Drama works except the unfinished multi-chapters! Check the TD section earlier in this post if you want more info on those.

As I'm drafting this in April, I have no solid plans to continue updating on Thursdays. It might become a bonus update day, but I may leave it blank so it's one less day to think about. School comes first!

September

Our final Chalaza chapter! Dog's Life is pushed off one week more than usual because of this (5th week instead of 4th since its last update), but then it's done.

After this, we enter The Candles We Light (and Should Regret) - Silk Plays AU. That's the Etho/Cleo Cupid/Psyche AU- Very excited!

I placed tentative things on Fridays: some Neighborhood Watch AU 'fics and Frayed Knots updates.

"A Lord and a Baby," "Olive Branches," and "Fun British Games" are in the early NW era, where Grian is 4... Mumbo and Martyn are young and we'll follow their arranged marriage arc across several 'fics.

Possible bonus updates on Thursday. Nothing is planned.

October

Continuing The Candles We Light on Tuesdays. "Velvet" is the final chapter for that story! "Night Guard" is a Dog's Life chapter that needs revisions, but its draft is complete.

Hypothetical Fairly OddParents updates (Subject to change). I'd like to post a Frayed Knots chapter and a 130 Prompt if I can.

"This Is Halloween" is a 130 Prompt that was posted on my FFN years ago. Since Halloween is on my FOP update day this year, it seems fun to post it.

It's 3 chapters and will likely be posted Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of that week.

November

With Candles behind us, we move to Top 10 Hanahaki Life Hacks (Sour Petals AU) on Tuesdays. FOP updates include City Lights AU, Frayed Knots, and Reedfilter Rules.

All of these are subject to change, but I placed the 50 Words projects here since each prompt can be a short snippet... Much easier to finish/revise during crunch time than a major 'fic. Thursday is theoretically a bonus day, but again... No plans. I'd love to get a buffer done before we reach this point of the year, but if I don't, I'm studying for my grad classes, so I'll see you in 2026 ✌️

December

Finishing Top 10 Hanahaki Life Hacks on Tuesdays. "Honey at Home" is our Dog's Life Act 2 intermission finale!

Dog's Life goes on hiatus after this until further notice. Don't expect it back until I wrap up some existing WIPs!

Wrapping up those Dimmadome arc "50 Words" projects on Fridays. "50 Words of Dev Alone" is the arc finale, so it's the perfect stopping point.

"Hyggekrog" is a Cosmo-centric one-shot I drafted years ago, but never finished. It's low priority, so it might not be posted here. I'll be wrapping up exams and enjoying the end of semester!

💥 - The Dreadful Burden of Plotting Affairs (A completed 10-chapter 'fic) has been bumped to spring 2026. It will post March through May. See you there!

This happened because Chalaza and this Dog's Life arc ended up longer than planned. My calendars have now been adjusted accordingly.

And that's the end of the year!

I'll be taking another winter fanfic break, which will be spent visiting family, enjoying holidays and time off from school, prepping for my next semester, and planning what's next.
