Hi, sorry, yes I did think you were a cdream anti because of the way you draw him. Everyone I've seen that does him that is (some even make cdream a p*do, sorry) so I was told to stay away but your blog seemed cool I thought I would ask. What is Dreblr? (I'm new.)

no worries, you’re good. “dreblr” is the tag for c!dream-centric fanworks and also loosely refers to the community of c!dream fans on tumblr. it’s a tag for fictional stuff only (material about the CCs goes in a different tag.)

most of my c!dream fanart doesn’t feature the mask at all, but when i do draw it i like to mix up the design. to be totally honest, the featureless white disc just gets really boring to draw over and over again.

it's like if a stranger showed up at your house uninvited, said a bunch of weird and outta pocket shit for no reason, and then tried to defend themself by saying "well the version of you i made up in my head is also a meanie!"

ok real hate: you draw dream like you're secretly a bigot. your shapes are terrible and color usage does suck. i know by looking at your design you've participated in hate campaigns and probably shit talk people behind their backs. you have a poor grasp of not only the character but poses and proportions. it's bad and the lines aren't even clean. is that better.

ok, couple things.

1.) this ask is obviously in response to my last post so you're checking my blog, which is kind of an L for you. the block button is right there. if you don't like seeing my art, you could solve this problem real quick.

2.) i can tell this message is performative because if you actually cared about addressing bigotry in the community, you'd specify what kind of bigotry you think i'm doing and what elements of my design reflect that bigotry. it's actually pretty normal for artists to talk about this stuff, and i think it's safe to say most artists want to know if we accidentally draw something insensitive or hurtful, myself included! you're clearly not interested in having conversations like that; you're just using bigotry (in the vaguest possible terms) as some kind of gotcha. your criticisms are meaningless if they're not actionable. also, if you actually believed what you were saying, you'd be cool with saying it off anon.

3.) i do struggle with poses, proportions, and other basic art principles! what an astute observation! i'm a beginner artist, it says this in my pinned post, i'm not ashamed of it. your palpable disdain for beginners is embarrassing.

4.) i'm led to believe the worst of the hate campaigns in this fandom were mid-2021, and my earliest dsmp fanart was posted june 2022. i wasn't even in the fandom when all that shit went down, and you could've easily discovered this by scrolling my blog. lazy ass.

5.) based on my own observations, mcyt fandom at large (and especially dsmp fandom on tumblr) is an overwhelmingly white space. as far as i'm aware, i'm one of the only active users in this particular fan community who's arab. that's not an inherently bad or good thing, it's just something i've noticed; it is what it is. but as far as this ask is concerned, i do think it's really interesting how white fans will create these intensely white spaces online, and instead of confronting the potential implications of that, they're more comfortable projecting bigotry onto the only ethnic ppl in the room. just think it's interesting. that's all i'll say about that.
