you guys know you dont have bully/be mean to nora because canon doesnt allign with your personal interpretation of aftg?

dont like a ship? dont like a plot point? dont like the extra content? there is fanfic, fanart, headcanons, fanon, canon rewrites, alternative universes, canon divergence fanon content, IGNORING CANON like any fandom does, your own fucking daydreams. but going to the author to insult her and saying a lot of mean stuff about how she decided to make her creation?

friendly reminder that we only have the books and know the characters because nora spend years crafting, writing, editing, etc and then she was kind to let the rest of the world read it when she could had just keep that to herself (and the fact she did end up having to remove some of it because of people that claimed to love her world, her characters, her books shit on her for every decision she made)

im not saying you have to love every single piece of canon, nobody does, just that you dont have to be an asshole about it

on a more serious note i know ad astra as a whole isnt over but i still want to thank daybreaker for their fics. what friends are for was the very first md fic i ever stumbled upon when trying out ao3 for the first time, and prior to joining the server i was checking it near daily for uploads. god knows if i'd be as deep in ao3 as i am now if it werent for this story and convenient timing. See here. BSD is a story about how all of our characters were once children. How the scars and wounds and secrets of their past will always haunt them to the present. We see it with Chuuya, Yosano, Ranpo, even Odasaku briefly, Atsushi, Tachihara, Akutagawa, Kyouka and Kenji right now, even Kouyou just a little bit. They've all overcome it or they've allowed it to consume them. And yet that brief glimpse into a past where they were young and scarred shows us once again just how human they are...every criminal, ever person, was once a child wounded by or protected from the world and doesn't that count for something even if it doesn't excuse the atrocities they commit today?

#its about the way backstories are burdens in this manga #im always a sucker for a good backstory but i love it even more when you can clearly see that...#...shedding the ghosts of your past is harder than it looks #and its more just a motivator but its also something that restricts and binds you #and this is why yosano's arc and also ranpo's arc are just so....#like one was horribly hurt by the world and the other somehow managed to be lucky and find a protector #and you can SEE how theyve both grown or overcome the baggage from their past #but how it still affects them like with ranpo holding onto the deception of his ability #and yosano getting angry at mori #AHHHHHHH i love this #bsd #bungou stray dogs #bungo stray dogs #bsd spoilers #kinda #too lazy to tag all the characters #bsd musings #character analysis #spitting nonsense
