"Another heartbreak, another lesson to be learned"
Laura Lang continues to fill our senses with smooth listening experiences in her music. Her single “Rust” off her EP that released in January is our newest obsession. As the audience, we get a little glimpse of a budding romance that starts to blossom into a form of a wish to be with someone. There’s a little bit of an insecurity in the lyrics that we can absolutely relate with. Lang mentions “I destroy everything I touch”, which can be a relatable reaction someone has when a relationship or friendship ends. The beat is consistent and catchy, with a nice electric guitar presence that adds to the soothing rhythm. We can’t help but want to lounge on the couch with this on full loop.

#MiniatureMonday
#HollywoodExhibit
Sound track / by Frank Irwin ; with illustrations by David Wiggins.
What would our modern movies be without a soundtrack? The musical score is a big part of the storytelling, and has to be carefully considered to match the film.
Similarly, this book talks about the effects that sound can have on our lives, discussing the wide range of expressions it can convey, everywhere from Beethoven to 2001 A Space Odyssey, with matching black line illustrations.
This is part of a continuing series featuring minis in conjunction with the of the new Hollywood Exhibit that is now up in the reading room.
Come check out the music scores on display, we are sure you will love them!

🎼 мυѕι¢ мση∂αу : “call me maybe” -> carly rae jepsen
[…] He catches the edge of the bar top and braces his hands against it, hoists himself up a bit taller and whistles in Tatum’s direction like he’s calling for an untrained puppy.
Tatum flips him off. “Keep it up, Milo, I’ll charge you full price.”
“I have an important question!" he insists. “About lesbianism.”
That gets him nothing but an eye-roll before Tatum goes back to ignoring him. Milo deflates like a punctured bounce house, forlorn whistle and all. Stevie can’t help a laugh, and the sound catches his attention just like it did yesterday at the store.
When Milo turns to look at her, maybe Stevie’s imagining it, but he perks up (right? Right).
“Oh, no way.” A grin flashes across his face. “Hey.”
