I gotta say: What Sophia knew and what she didn't know is still one of the biggest mysteries to me. At a first glance, it appears she was unaware of everything regarding Geppetto, the King of Puppets/Romeo and all that. However, there's this note you can find in the Hermit's Cave, which says something along the lines of "Remember that you are human. Now is the time to escape the puppet string." I presume this was written by the carcass-turned hermit, and if I remember correctly, it even says that this was a message by the "blue butterfly".
To me, this sounds like Sophia might have used Ergo waves trying to contact P, and because they are created from Ergo as well, the carcass monsters could hear her voice too. However, given that she urges P to "escape from the puppet string"... Did she know what Geppetto was up to? Did she, by any chance, know who P was - or rather, who his Ergo belonged to? (If Sophia is the woman from the memory where Carlo arrived in Monad Charity House, she probably recognized him as soon as she saw him. However, the above text would imply she was aware of his identity before she even met him.)
Of course, we know that all puppets essentially possess the souls of humans, so this might not specifically allude to Carlo. Still, there's one thing I've been wondering about: If Sophia can communicate with P via Ergo waves, wouldn't she be able to hear all other messages that are sent through Ergo? She is, after all, a listener, and on top of that, she's sitting in a tower where all Ergo waves come together. So, could it be possible that Sophia might have listened in on the transmissions Romeo sent to his puppets, and that she might have known that the King of Puppets was not the true enemy? She is the one who shares the news with you that the King of Puppets actually wanted to stop Simon at the Grand Exhibition; however, if I remember correctly, it seems like she is unaware that the King of Puppets was Romeo when you bring back the necklace, and the truth only seems to dawn on her when she says "The King of Puppets is actually..." (Unfortunately, you don't get this dialogue again in NG+; I suppose that's because it's tied to the cutscene of P's hair growing, but I really would've liked to read it again with the full context.) [EDIT: Nevermind, I just realized the dialogue about P's hair growth only happens after you go to Lorenzini Arcade; I missed it before because I immediately returned to the Hotel after the fight against Romeo.]
Also, when you ask Sophia about her abilities, she says that she can to talk to puppets, but now P is the only one whom "her voice reaches". I suppose this might be because the Puppet Frenzy creates a kind of discordance which is perceived as static - at least, that's what I gather from the description of the Completed Ergo Wavelength Decoder. It doesn't seem like Sophia knew Geppetto was the actual perpetrator, though - when talking to her at the Grand Exhibition, she explains that the Petrification Disease, the monsters and the Puppet Frenzy are all connected to Ergo. I think this is part of the game trying to set you on the wrong track with the assumption that the Ergo was polluted (which is hinted at in a note found at the factory), and that's why the puppets went crazy - the plot twist that Geppetto deliberately caused it is only revealed later. (But perhaps, the Alchemists were doing the groundwork for the Frenzy by only providing low-quality Ergo for the construction of puppets? Perhaps the purer the Ergo is, the more of a person's will/personality stays intact, and the harder they are to manipulate - I could imagine that this is why Romeo retained some of his free will.)
Still, that doesn't exclude the possibility that Sophia knew more than she lets on - all of her actions have the goal that P ultimately achieves humanity, even if he has to go through a lot of pain to do so. Simon says P is the only one Sophia cares about enough to repeatedly rewind time to save him - perhaps that's because she knows P is the only one who can free the city from its suffering. (When Sophia says "Please, save Krat", I don't think it's meant in the sense to restore everything to the way it was - I think Sophia is wise enough to know that's impossible. Rather, I think her aim is to allow Krat a fresh start, much like she is reborn after you kill her out of mercy - however, new beginnings always come with having to let go of everything that once was.)
If you ask me, I think there's definitely stuff that Sophia doesn't tell us - however, I have nothing to prove she had evil intentions, so I will refrain from any accusations against her. I understand and agree with her ultimate goal - still, that doesn't necessarily have to mean I agree with her methods. (I'd take her over Geppetto any day though, since I neither agree with his goal nor his methods.)
(All of this vaguely reminds me of my own theories I had about the endings before the game released. Basically, I suspected there would be a "conflict of interests" between Sophia and Geppetto, with Sophia wanting Pinocchio to become "a good person" while Geppetto just wanted him to replace his dead son. My interpretation of Sophia deviated quite a lot from her character in the game though, since I assumed she was some god-like, "immaculate" being and might have caused the Petrification Disease herself, to "purify" the population of Krat of vice and sin - that role ultimately falls to Simon, however.)
The relation between Puppet Camille and Human Camille is another thing that gives me headaches. I've seen some theories that Puppet Camille had the Ergo of Geppetto's dead wife, and that the baby she caught was actually Carlo. The biggest issue for me here is the game's very vague timeline - I always assumed Carlo and Romeo were in their late teens when they died (at most in their early twenties), and I believe Venigni mentions being in his thirties. Given that Camille is recorded as the first puppet to gain an ego, she must have awoken at some point before the incident with Arlecchino. Also, presuming the baby was indeed Carlo, Carlo must have been born at this point already, which makes it very difficult to determine the time frame when all of this could've taken place. (In fact, considering Carlo's age, I'm not even sure if this theory is even plausible...)
However, if Geppetto made a puppet in his dead wife's image and deliberately gave her his Ergo, that would mean he must've been previously aware that this would reawaken her memories. However, the document about the discovery of Camille explicitly states that the Alchemists were unaware of that Ergo had this property up until this point - so, it really would be an almost impossible chain of convenient circumstances if Geppetto made a maid puppet as a replacement for his wife and just coincidentally happened to use Camille's Ergo for it (if the Alchemists already knew Ergo was the result of the Petrification Disease, I think they would've kept it a secret). The only way I can see this work is if one of the Alchemists had a hunch about the Ergo's true nature, and asked Geppetto to take part in an experiment to confirm it.
Realistically, however, I think it's way more likely Geppetto might have built a prototype maid puppet in the image of his wife, and one of them happened to have her Ergo and awakened. This might have happened years after Camille's death, and Puppet Camille probably belonged to a completely different household - so, the child she saved couldn't have been Carlo. Still, that wouldn't exclude her still having memories of him - since Ergo is the frozen memory of a person at their point of death, Camille might still have known that she had a son who needed her protection, and perhaps she remembered having a husband as well.
Also, if Puppet Camille had the soul of Geppetto's wife and he found out about this somehow, I think he would've been ready to move heaven and hell to bring her back. Presuming Ergo from dead puppets can be recycled, he might have tried to "revive" her a second time - who knows, perhaps he even tried using the Saintess of Mercy Statue for it. My theory is that the original purpose of that statue was to revive dead people (more on that here), so if that was the case, you'd have to wonder why Geppetto didn't try to do this with Carlo. Perhaps it's because he already did try this with Camille, but something went wrong - maybe, when she came back, some of her memories were missing, and while she could recall once having a husband, she didn't recognize him when he was standing directly in front of her.
Also, another idea that I had was every time Ergo is "recycled", something of the original personality gets lost/altered. So, with every reincarnation, the person differs from their original self more. Maybe something like that may have happened with Camille - and perhaps, even with Carlo (if Geppetto actually built multiple versions of P, I could also imagine this as a reason why Carlo never "awakens").
I absolutely love your lore theories for LoP! Very new to the fandom :). Stayed up all night reading your posts abt it whahaha please keep making them!
Just wanted to ask what you think, if Camille was the recorded first puppet with an awakened ego and was Carlo's mom... does that mean Geppetto let his wife be experimented on by the alchemists upon her death or???
Another thought, do you think Sophia knew Geppetto's plans? Given that she reached out to P at the very beginning and called him by name ((geppettos puppet)) She knew Simon's plans yeah. But what abt Geppettos?
Thank you so much for your kind ask!!!
I panicked briefly because I thought I lost this ask somewhere. I have a LOT of thoughts surrounding Camille and parts of the game that I struggle to put together really cohesively, so on certain topics, i'm just going to ramble.
So, there is this image from the opening cutscene.
Tumblr media
Maybe it isn't literally Camille and Carlo, but it may be alluding to them. [And what are they shown playing here? dundundun]
There is a particular affinity and focus the game has on the Piano as well.
Music is so linked to humanity in this game, i think it's very sweet.
There was also this really interesting post about the blue fairy (in the og collodi novel) that I don't think I can dig up anymore, but I remember it was something like this. It was pointing out that, realistically, the blue fairy really isn't a good parent. She lets a seven year old child be hanged on a tree, she watches by as he is enslaved; she makes him "work" for the right to be a real boy instead of reasonably granting him it, etc. The blue fairy also appears omniscient or goddess-like, appearing as a child, a young woman, a goat, and a mother (in perhaps her most adapted incarnation).
if Sophia's knowledge is endless, couldn't she have warned us about geppetto? wouldn't she know about carlo (someone she knew as a child) being tortured in a box? was it her discretion to let us suffer, because he needs to be able to suffer to be strong? Does that make her a moral or ethical person? Can any personhood with omniscience, who, in a sense, allows evil to happen, be moral or just? Perhaps, herein lies the philosophical, inherent flaw, in any relationship with an omniscient being, but I digress.
However, I think Sophia's endless knowledge that Arlecchino [sadly I write his name wrong every time] refers to is spiritual, or emotional, in a sense: that because she could manipulate time, all of it was at her disposal. When we wake up in the train car, her words are: "There you are, I've been looking all over for you!" She could not have known where we were, if she was searching for us (possibly through the blue butterfly figure we see). Also, I think she could've warned us about Geppetto.. but maybe then we wouldn't have gone to save her, and her goals are to get us to save her from Simon, which I believe she either says or suggests are "selfish" intentions (although I think she is very well within her right to have tbh). I don't think she is all-knowing in the way that Simon's world of truth would be. Maybe it's just a plot hole, perhaps it's just a "flaw" innate in writing any story with an omniscient character, but I don't think she was omniscient in that fashion.
And then coming back to Camille: One of my absolute favourite things about the game is the Saintess of Mercy Statue/Pieta Motif that we see in the Grand Exhibition. And Camille, who is inferred to have been the mother of Carlo, is said to have engineered the statue. She is directly connected to the game's central visual motif of death and rebirth. And then the statue also being diegetically[not a word apparently?] associated with rebirth and renewal ("Bring new life to puppets") in that you are "re-setting" and re-spec your character's stats there??? Equal parts beautiful and spectacular and touching.
[I feel SO sad that apparently, not every gamer got to see the statue. Opening those doors after the phone call riddle and then the camera panning up to the statue is such an amazing and special moment to me, and then the fact that it's also raining (another symbol of birth) too]
Tumblr media
I don't know if the Camille puppet was literally the same Camille (who may have been the wife of Giuseppe), though. We know that she seems to have saved a baby from falling, on which afterwards she says "bring me back to my child". Not only is the Camille puppet a devoted mother character, she's also the first puppet to awaken (in other words, being associated with the idea of birth). "Camille" is so tied to the idea of motherhood and birth, that I think the Camille puppet is another connection here, and may not literally be the same Camille who was a technician. Although, I don't put it past Geppetto to be doing nefarious experiments with puppets, even if it were his wife. It might be a little ominous in regards to his attitude to P, that he doesn't see puppets as "people", but he does see people as puppets.

A Promise (Stalker!Carlo x G/N!Reader x Stalker!Romeo) Pt. 1
Pt. 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This will be an au where Romeo and Carlo never died and become stalkers!
Summary: A year after their close friend's death, Romeo and Carlo were making their way to Venigni works to help him when they stumble upon someone who they thought they lost forever.
◇◇◇
Y/N sighed in annoyance as they waited for Carlo and Romeo.
The two had told them that they planned a surprise for them and that to meet them at the amphitheater in Rosa Isabelle street.
Fortunately the amphitheater was empty so it would only be them.
"What is taking them so long, they should have been here now." They muttered as they looked around.
They tried to stay quiet and listen, hoping to hear footsteps or their voices to know if they were coming.
But it was completely silent, except for the few crickets chirping.
"I'm about to leave if they don't arrive in the next few minutes."
But as they said that, the two boys that they were waiting for finally arrived.
"Sorry we made you wait." Carlo apologized as he sat down on Y/N's right while Romeo sat on their left.
"What took you two so long, I was about to leave." They scowled the two lightly.
"Sorry, we had to get something before we came, now close your eyes!" Romeo said as he gave them a smile.
"Okay..." Y/N muttered as they closed their eyes.
They then felt something go around their neck.
'A necklace?' They thought.
"There, you can open your eyes."
When Y/N opened their eyes, they looked down and saw a silver oval shaped locket with a blue gem on the front, around their neck.
"Romeo, Carlo... where did you get this?" They said as they gently lifted it into their hand and opened it.
They felt tears form as they saw a picture of them along with the two boys smiling up at them.
"Me and Romeo saved up our allowances to get it for you. We hope you like it." Carlo said as he and Romeo looked at them affectionately.
"I love it! Thank you!" They exclaimed as they threw their arms around Carlo in a hug and placing a quick peck to his cheek before doing the same to Romeo.
The two smiled as Y/N looked down at the locket.
They wanted this moment to last forever, but unfortunately that happiness will soon wilt away, along with their friend.
◇◇◇
As he wiped the oil off his sword, Carlo sighed as he and Romeo finally got rid of the remaining puppets in the area.
"Finally, now we can rest for a bit." He said as he sat down against one of the wooden pillars of the abandoned apartment.
It has been about a year since Y/N had tragically passed because of the petrification disease, and a couple months since the puppet frenzy started.
The two, who had graduated from the Monad Charity House a while back, were now stalkers like they wanted, and were now helping people make it to the hotel for safety.
"Yeah, but we shouldn't take too long. We have to get to Venigni works to find Mr. Venigni, like your father, asked." Romeo said as he sat next to his partner.
"Yeah, I know." He grumbled at the mention of Gepetto.
Even after graduation, he still resented his father for neglecting him, the only reasons he agreed to help his dad with finding Venigni is because the inventor was Y/N's father, and he actually treated him like a son.
"Hey, don't be like that. I know Y/N would want us to help their father. And I bet they are watching over us right now."
Carlo sighed as Romeo mentioned Y/N.
He took Y/N's passing hard, even shutting himself out from everyone, but Romeo didn't let it stop him, as he stayed by his side.
"Yeah, your right. Alright, we'll leave in twenty minutes."
Romeo smiled and nudged Carlo's arm.
"That's the spirit, now I remember packing some apples for us to eat." He muttered as he grabbed his bag and dug around in it.
"Ah, here." He said as he pulled out a red apple and handed it over to the white fox masked man next to him.
But as Carlo grabbed it, that's when they heard footsteps running from outside and stopping at the door.
They didn't sound like they were from a puppet, and they didn't hear growling like a carcass, so they must belong to a human.
"Another stalker perhaps?" Carlo questioned, thinking that maybe some other stalkers are still alive besides them and Claudia and Lucio.
He couldn't think of anyone else it could have been.
"I don't know, but we should be cautious." Romeo said as he grabbed his puppet ripper scythe and slowly approached the door.
Carlo followed behind, his sword, proof of humanity in hand.
Gripping the handle in his hand, Romeo opened the door to see someone standing a bit away from him, their back was towards him so the two men couldn't see who the person was.
They were shaking pretty badly.
In the distance, they heard screeching from some puppets, which must be what this person was running from.
And the screeching was starting to get closer and closer.
Without saying anything, Romeo dropped his weapon pulled them inside, causing them to yelp while Carlo closed the door and locked it.
"Let me go!" The person said as they tried to pry themselves from Romeo's grasp, causing the two men to freeze.
That voice...
Gently turning the person towards him so they were facing both him and Carlo, Romeo reached up and pulled the person's hood down.
"Y/N?"
◇◇◇
I hope you guys like part 1, I will work on part 2 as soon as I can!

Omp's past life as a maid 🌸
Tumblr media
My brain is pumping some more Lies of P oc lore woooooo! 🧠 ✨️
I was looking into the Belle Epoque Era maids and I looove the designs of their maid dresses. This is just a doodle idea, but I was looking at the maid dresses as reference and man was it hard to look at them because of old photos. Maybe it's because it's like almost 1 am here lmao. Eepy eyes.
Anyways, Omp's past life as a maid, but a temporary one for Geppetto. Something happened after Camille's disappearance, and Geppetto's schedule was not going as he wanted to. So, out of desperation, he had a human maid to temporarily watch over Carlo. This would be before he dropped him off at Monad Charity House. Thus, Carlo bonding with Omp's past self.
The two quickly got along due to the maid's kindness and mother-like personality. The maid was a foreigner in Krat but was born in the same place close to Krat. She moved to the city due to her lover wanting to settle down with her. She's engaged and wanted a wedding, but they didn't have enough money. So, she took the job as a maid, and lucky enough, she got hired by one of Krat's wealthiest people and creator of puppets.
The black bracelet around her wrist signifies her engagement with her lover, but also a "calling" for him. It is said that the bracelet summons strange "creatures in the shadows" just by rubbing it, which makes a humming tune. Though it was just a supersition, according to her lover. Omp eventually gives it to Carlo during his graduation later down the road.
(More ideas in the future mweheh)

The Mormon Heretic, and the Leviathan
I have decided to make an explanation of how a Mormon heretic gave me the idea for my short story, Leviathan. It is very long explanation, mostly focused on the fascinating theology the heretic created on accident. The explanation of how it led to the story will only be at the end. You have been warned.
So, a short explanation of the heretic: He was a seminary teacher of mine that had deep dived into theology and Jungian analysis and the views that he'd come out with were just... fascinating. He didn't really consider this stuff heresy, because he didn't think it wasn't directly disagreeing with normal doctrine, just adding stuff into the margins. I think that his definition of Godhood and the nature of God was so alien that it was essentially an entirely new religion wearing the same terminology as the old one like a skinsuit. Calling it Christian would be stretching the word to the point of meaninglessness. And without further adieu, his beliefs: He was big on the idea that Jesus/God and GOD/Elohim were separate entities. He based this on the fact that Elohim refers to a plurality, while there are later words for God that are purely singular. He'd envisioned this sort of weird cycle where the God Cluster (Or Big God, or Elohim, or the Monad, he used a lot of terms for it) is this sort of outside-of-time entity that encompasses everything in an unconstrained sense. To exist in this way is to be incomprehensibly lonely, because there is literally nothing in the world but you. So it would, occasionally, go mad and cut out a temporary pocket of reality where it could not go. Sort of the "God creating a rock so heavy that It could not lift it" moment. This God-Cluster would then manifest a sort of physical reflection of itself in these constrained spheres, a self-that-was-not-the-self. That physical unself would go through apotheosis as a rite of passage, to create something different enough from the Monad that it would temporarily alleviate the isolation of being everything. So the God that there was with Eve and Adam was basically just a fetus-demiurge, and the reason that paradise failed was because it was still learning how to not suck at being a God. That was Lesson 1. Lesson 2 was the flood, which was really important because it was, according to Heretic Teacher, the first time that God felt shame. It had not blamed itself for the loss of Eden, it had blamed us, but this time it knew that it had overreacted. After Lesson 2, it spent a couple thousand years mulling over why it kept failing to predict humans and decided to try being one. That was Lesson 3, and the experience went so unbelievably badly that it decided it wasn't going to keep micromanaging us until it got its own shit together. It also gave it quite a bit more sympathy for us in our condition, and basically promised us that it was going to be nice to us, and to please be nicer to each other. This whole little thing relates to the prompt because, in his eyes, the grand cycle of existence seems to be based around the higher powers creating separations within themselves to avoid loneliness, with the goal of each split to be finding a way to reform into the big thing again, thesis-anthesis-synthesis style. We were mini-runs of the demiurge, who was using us to try and understand Itself, and It was in turn a mini-run of the monad, who was using it to try and understand itself and also as a way to pretend that it is two things, because being the only thing is very lonely. In this context, I made the Leviathan as the singular state, and humans as the sort of temporary split within it. That's why it eats people. We were always part of it. We were just a weird embarrassing stage in its life cycle.
As for why the flood is a recurring motif, that teacher talked a lot about the flood. He was fascinated with it, considered it the primary sin of God against man, and in turn, a sin by God against Itself. That one day, as we progressed back to unity with mini-God, all of our pain would become Its pain, and that as it progressed back to unity with the Monad, our pain would because its pain, and that in this way, even the Gods would be held accountable for forcing us to deal with some amateur hour schmuck of a deity for the first several thousand years of our existence. The universe is just a lonely god trapped in a room, arguing with a sock puppet, and occasionally getting so heated that it punches the sock puppet into the wall and hurts itself.
I don't even know how he came up with this number, but he'd estimated that something like a trillion people died in the first flood, which was comparable to how many people had died since. Even as a teenager, I had this weird realization that the synthesized proto-monad of our world was going to be comprised mainly of drowned, which was unsettling. Our world was the world of the drowned God.
I could write more about the weirdness of this guy. He was fucking fascinating, both because of his beliefs, and also because he genuinely viewed himself as a normal Mormon. But this is how that guy accidentally helped me write cosmic horror. By truly and genuinely believing in one.

lies of p headcanons
I realized that I never actually listed these out and shared them with everyone! Here's a list of my LoP headcanons:
Pertaining to P:
P picked the name ‘Pinocchio’ himself. He saw the original book in the hotel's library and (because of Carlo’s ergo influencing him) wanted to be called that.
Antonia is the one to teach P how to play piano. While his favorite of the records is “Feel”, the first one he wanted to learn the most was “Memory of Beach”. (The golden/instrumental version of the song is the result of that)
Outside of the piano, P also learns how to play guitar and violin.
He became the second master of Hotel Krat after the disaster and during the rebuilding of the city.
For the most part, after the “Rise of P” ending, he's human. However, his heart is still mechanical (it pumps red blood now) and he lacks sex organs.
His favorite dance is the waltz.
He prefers baths over showers.
Once he's able to eat, his favorite type of food is sweets (especially milk chocolate, the kind with filling in it).
He takes up the name “Monad” after “Rise of P”, for he views Sophia as a mother figure.
Pertaining to Sophia:
She is the one who essentially raised Carlo at the Monad Charity House. By extension, she views P as family as well.
After “Rise of P”, she stays at the Abbey and turns it into a butterfly haven.
She loves flowers and collected them to be put in a scrapbook when she was younger.
Her favorite flowers are bellflowers.
Pertaining to Venigni:
He walks with a cane when out in public. Not because he needs it but because it looks dapper.
He created Polendina to look similar to his father.
His comfort food is a family recipe: a veggie-meat stew made by his mother.
Pertaining to Eugenie:
She sets up her own workshop sometime after the disaster.
She's probably either secretly royalty or at least her family was of high status on their homeland.
At some point, she teaches P how to speak Korean.
She adopted Spring after finding her as a stray.
She swore in front of P once and that is how he learned cuss words.
She actually does give P both of the records she's able to give during her quest line.
Pertaining to Romeo:
Mega theater kid when he was younger.
When he and Carlo read the original Pinocchio story together, he memorized it all like a script.
After graduation, he was planning on proposing to Carlo. However, they weren't able to ever marry.
When leading the puppets, he never came out of the King of Puppets model. So, none of the puppets would've known what he actually looked like.
Writes poetry as a hobby
When he became a stalker, his animal mask would've been a peacock.
Pertaining to the records:
The reason why Red Fox and Black Cat had the “Quixotic” record was because that was Fox's favorite song.
“Why” was the song Belle and Atkinson played during their wedding.
“Feel” was actually the lullaby the Weeping Woman sang for her baby.

Bad FSYY English translation
The four-volume Library of Chinese Classics bilingual edition of Creation/Investiture of the Gods (Fengshen yanyi, c. 1620) published in 2000 is the only full-length translation of the story available in English. I've had a PDF of the entire set archived on my external blog since May of 2020. It is serviceable for the general reader, but it is not great for hobbyist researchers like myself.
I'd like to provide an example showing how it is not very accurate and/or comprehensive. Chapter 12 describes how young Nezha inadvertently causes havoc in the underwater realm when washing himself in a river with a powerful magic sash. This eventually leads to Li Gen (李艮), a yaksha water-spirit soldier, to attack him with an ax. Gu Zhizhong's (2000) translation reads:
Nezha, naked and empty-handed, dodged the vicious blow, raised his Universal Ring and struck Li Gen on the head. How could the Yaksha withstand the magic weapon from Fairy Primordial! His skull broke open and he fell dead on the river bank (Gu, 2000, vol. 1, p. 239).
However, the full Chinese reads:
Standing there naked, Nezha dodged the advancing warrior's attack and upraised the Universal Ring in his right hand. This treasure was originally bestowed by the Jade Emptiness Palace of Mt. Kunlun to the Perfected Man of the Grand Monad to secure the items of his Golden Light Cave. How could the yaksha withstand the magic weapon as it struck downward on his head? His brains exploded from the blow, and he fell dead on the shore. (I don't consider myself a translator, so please forgive any errors.)
You can see that quite a bit of information was left out. This happens throughout the entire novel. This makes me angrier the more that I think about. Why even bother to translate something if you are only going to paraphrase or even skip over passages? It seems like a pointless enterprise.

‘1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3…3?’
The number 3… it reminds me of sweet innocent days back at the Monad Charity House. Three innocent children who were nonetheless wiser of what was in store for them in the future. Their innocence is sweet but short like the nectar of honeysuckles. Three share the same dream of becoming something great. Nothing but sunny days and laughter shared amongst friends. Such sweet and happy times, but it’s short-lived for death was about to strike.
The number 2… I remember the day our trio was cut down to a duo. The skies couldn’t compare to the two souls who weep over a grave. They wept and spent countless nights with whispered regrets. The two wished to strive to do more in the name of their lost friend. As time progressed the duo turned into a couple. Their love reminds them of those innocent days. They would dance late into the night as they held each other so closely. How naive of them to believe that the dance would never end.
The number 1… Shouting was all that could be heard in the room. One wishes to leave the city of Krat once and for all like a coward. While one wishes to become the greatest protector, but at the cost of his humanity. Eventually, the argument concludes with one storming out and leaving the other heartbroken. They sit all alone in their tears with their shattered heart.

*thump*… *thump*… *thump*…
I don’t bother to look behind me. I know it’s there… Those glowing blue glass eyes and that carved smile. The loud creaks and ticks of metal and gears settle down. I learned to not cover my ears whenever it decides to talk to appease it. The loud static was piercing and indecipherable. The cage it keeps me in is spun around so that I’m forced to look at it. I slowly look up to see its gaze. That sickening smile makes my stomach churn. It opens the cage and brings a large finger to stroke my cheek. I have to resist flinching away from his touch to not anger it. Suddenly it’s grabbing at me and pulling me out of the cage. I struggle against its cold iron grip before it settles me down on the floor of the opera hall.
“What is the meaning of this?” I say while brushing off my clothes
All I am met with is the hissing of a hatch being opened. I turn and see the chest of the King of Puppets opened. A large figure gracefully jumps out and lands in front of me. It sickens me to see the same face I fell in love with on this automaton. The sounds of its metallic feet clank against the marble floor. I take a step back only for it to grab my wrist. It towers over me while staring at me blankly.
“(Name)”
I freeze. It couldn’t be… Staticky and crackled but a voice so familiar. The last time you heard that voice it was through shouts and harsh words. A cold metallic hand meets your cheek and wipes away the tears you didn’t even realize were falling. My heart is beating erratically and I feel like I’m drowning.
“1 2 3… 1 2 3…”
I listen to the numbers and try to inhale and exhale with it.
“1 2 3.. 1 2 3…”
‘Inhale… exhale…’
A hand falls to my waist and another holds my hand.
“1 2 3.. 1 2 3.. 1 2 3..”
He counts faster as he leads my body to follow his.
“1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3 3”
Suddenly we’re moving across the marble floor of the opera house. Motions I thought were lost to the past. I look up at his face and I remember those late nights we would dance. The way he’d hold me so tenderly and lovingly. Almost made me believe everything would be okay. I hadn’t even noticed the music that started playing behind us. All I could think of was how much I missed this. He dips me as the music comes to an end and I can’t help but melt.
“Romeo-“
*CRASH*
Suddenly I remember that this isn’t right. Romeo is gone. I push away as the crashing noises get louder. I look towards the door for a split second before looking back at it. By the time I do, it’s already back in its suit and it grabs me once more. I thrash against its grip before being placed back into the cage. It picks up the cage and hides me above the stage. The crashing stops near the door. I watch the large puppet hide above as the curtain to the stage opens up. The doors open and my heart stops.
“Carlo?”

"Celestial Tree" Talon Abraxas
So, there are 12 Great Orders of Spiritual Beings or Entities and these are in some way connected with and represented by the 12 Signs of the Zodiac, namely Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces.
And within the 12 Great Orders is the 7-fold “Hierarchy of Creative Powers” and these seven are connected in some way with the Seven Sacred Planets, which are Venus, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and two others, which are exoterically said to be the Sun and the Moon, but which are in fact the mysterious planet Vulcan and another planet which has not been specifically named in the Theosophical teachings but which is described by HPB in “Transactions of the Blavatsky Lodge” as “a planet with a retrograde motion, sometimes visible at a certain hour of night and apparently near the moon. The occult influence of this planet is transmitted by the moon.”
This is what is said about the Seven Hierarchies . . .
1 – “The highest group is composed of the divine Flames, so-called, also spoken of as the “Fiery Lions” and the “Lions of Life,” whose esotericism is securely hidden in the Zodiacal sign of Leo. It is the nucleole of the superior divine World. They are the formless Fiery Breaths, identical in one aspect with the upper Sephirothal TRIAD, which is placed by the Kabalists in the “Archetypal World.””
2 – “The second Order of Celestial Beings, those of Fire and AEther (corresponding to Spirit and Soul, or the Atma-Buddhi) whose names are legion, are still formless, but more definitely “substantial.” . . . As the name shows, they are the prototypes of the incarnating Jivas or Monads, and are composed of the Fiery Spirit of Life. It is through these that passes like a pure solar beam, the ray which is furnished by them with its future vehicle, the Divine Soul, Buddhi. These are directly concerned with the Hosts of the higher world of our system. From these twofold Units emanate the threefold.”
3 – “The Third order corresponds to the Atma-Buddhi-Manas: Spirit, Soul and Intellect, and is called the “Triads.””
4 – “The Fourth are substantial Entities. This is the highest group among the Rupas (Atomic Forms). It is the nursery of the human, conscious, spiritual Souls. They are called the “Imperishable Jivas,” and constitute, through the order below their own, the first group of the first septenary host – the great mystery of human conscious and intellectual Being.”
5 – “The Fifth group is a very mysterious one, as it is connected with the Microcosmic Pentagon, the five-pointed star representing man. In India and Egypt these Dhyanis were connected with the Crocodile, and their abode is in Capricornus. These are convertible terms in Indian astrology, as this (tenth) sign of the Zodiac is called Makara, loosely translated “crocodile.” … The fifth group of the celestial Beings is supposed to contain it itself the dual attributes of both the spiritual and physical aspects of the Universe; the two poles, so to say, of Mahat the Universal Intelligence, and the dual nature of man, the spiritual and the physical. Hence its number Five, multiplied and made into ten, connecting it with Makara, the 10th sign of Zodiac. . . . It becomes the task of the fifth Hierarchy – the mysterious beings that preside over the constellation Capricornus, Makara, or “Crocodile” in India as in Egypt – to inform the empty and ethereal animal form [i.e. in the early period of humanity’s evolution on this globe in this Fourth Round] and make of it the Rational Man. This is one of those subjects upon which very little may be said to the general public. It is a MYSTERY, truly but only to him who is prepared to reject the existence of intellectual and conscious spiritual Beings in the Universe, limiting full Consciousness to man alone, and that only as a “function of the Brain.” Many are those among the Spiritual Entities, who have incarnated bodily in man, since the beginning of his appearance, and who, for all that, still exist as independently as they did before, in the infinitudes of Space. . . . To put it more clearly: the invisible Entity may be bodily present on earth without abandoning, however, its status and functions in the supersensuous regions.”
6 & 7 – “The sixth and seventh groups partake of the lower qualities of the Quaternary. They are conscious, ethereal Entities, as invisible as Ether . . . as it is the Sixth – on the downward scale of Spirituality – the last and seventh being the terrestrial Spirits (elementals) which gradually form, build, and condense his physical body – this Sixth group evolves no more than the future man’s shadowy form, a filmy, hardly visible transparent copy of themselves. . . . This sixth group, moreover, remains almost inseparable from man, who draws from it all but his highest and lowest principles, or his spirit and body, the five middle human principles being the very essence of those Dhyanis. Alone, the Divine Ray (the Atman) proceeds directly from the One.”

Persona 3 Reload: Elizabeth Boss Battle
Tumblr media
While I could probably be called a layman to Persona - a newb, a greenhorn... I do empathize with anyone trying to clear this final, "secret" boss battle that is pretty grueling, if I do say so myself. (人◕ω◕);;; I drew up this "strategy guide" for my own remembrance, but if anyone wants tips or ideas, you can feel free to consult this. I'll just leave it up here. It's, generally, easy to follow and borrows from guides on the internet I've read. I didn't follow them to the letter exactly, and yet I managed to come out of this fight alive twice thus far... Make adjustments of your own if you need to; this is just what I cobbled together, and it works for me. Proud owner of 2 Omnipotent Orbs over here, and hope to get more in the future. ... Even if Elizabeth kicks my ass several times along the way. (人◕ω◕)
... But I digress. Here's my notes. I heavily advise using a calculator or scratch paper to keep a record of how much damage you deal to Elizabeth... You're gonna need to know when you hit certain thresholds. Also - I managed to beat her without maxing the stats of my Personas. Made things a bit harder for myself because of that, but I still mustered victory twice with stats and levels across the board. It's easier with higher leveled Persona's, so I advise grinding as much as possible. You don't need max stats... Just get them to where you're comfortable. You're in for one tough fight regardless if you're maxed out or not.
Also... Before going into Tartarus, I advise going to the fortuneteller at Club Escapade to get a Soul Fortune. You'll build up Theurgy much quicker, and the fight can be much easier for it. Do as you like~
~*~
The Rules
For this fight, you'll be battling alone... Once you leave your party members at the entrance, journey up to Floor 255 and down into the deepest parts of the Monad Door there. And you'll need to keep in mind to not equip anything that nullifies/absorbs/reflects Elizabeth's elemental attacks. You can use Personas that have such resistances, but be careful. If she launches an attack and you break her rules, she'll nuke you with Megidolaon and you'll have to start the fight over. Be mindful of your team and what stage of the fight she's in. You'll have 50 turns to bring her down to 0, but as you'll soon see... They get used up pretty quickly. Come prepared to hit her strong and hard - and definitely stock up on materials, you'll need the healing and status buffs/debuffs.
~*~
My best Personas for the fight (feel free to modify these to your own liking; this is just what I used):
Orpheus Telos
Salvation, Single-Target Boost, Spell Master, Firm Stance, Ice Boost, Ice Amp, Concentrate, Diamond Dust
Helel
Almighty Boost, Almighty Amp, Heat Riser, Spell Master, Firm Stance, Endure, Morning Star, Resist Ice
Messiah
Enduring Soul, Morning Star, Spell Master, rest of moves up to your discretion
Chi You
Arms Master, Brave Blade, Charge, Firm Stance, Single-Target Boost, Resist Elec, Slash Boost, Slash Amp
Lucifer (only good for Phase 1; I have Debilitate on him, saves me Debilitator Sutras for Phase 3)
~*~
Items to stock up on (feel free to add or subtract from this list; these are what I most commonly used):
Empowering Sutras/Heat Riser Potatos
Somas
Debilitator Sutras
~*~
Items equipped:
Lucifer's Blade
Armor of Light
Shoes of Light
Amritite Necklace (shields you from ailments, highly recommend)
~*~
Necessary Theurgy:
Armageddon
Recommended Theurgy:
Trickster
~*~
Phase 1:
Elizabeth can be a vexing opponent, but she does have patterns if you prolong the battle enough and observe her. For this first phase, she'll only attack twice each turn with a different Persona each round. Usually status buffs/debuffs, elemental moves, and physical moves. The order of elements she goes in are: Fire, Ice, Electric, Wind, Light, Dark, Status Ailments, and Almighty.
To break it down a little for you - Helel can be used for those first four types; he absorbs Light and Dark, so when those turns come around swap him out. Helel is mainly used for Heat Riser and Morning Star. Orpheus Telos can be used any turn, and I use him for the Concentrate move, mostly - it doubles the damage of your next magic attack. Don't worry if you use Heat Riser on the next turn, Concentrate will still be active. During this phase, I will occasionally throw Lucifer out to Debilitate Elizabeth, debuffing her stats; this first phase is rather open-ended, just be mindful of what type of moves she's going to use next and how much damage you've dealt to her.
Cycle through Concentrate, Heat Riser, Morning Stars, and Theurgies to whittle her down from 20,000 to at least 13,000. There are elemental attack strategies, too, but I was alright using Morning Star Almighty damage, chiefly. And Theurgies like Trickster (save Armageddon for later, you will NEED it). Occasionally throw in Debilitate to hit harder; Lucifer is best used on turns after she uses Surt (fire), Thor (electric), and Alice (dark) (if Lucifer is equipped ON those turns, you break her rules because of his resistances. Be careful.).
Depending if you get her lower than 10,000, she skips Phase 2. Otherwise, get ready for Phase 2 after getting her below 13,000.
Phase 2:
Elizabeth will praise you for your efforts, and buff herself with Concentrate. This is your cue.
Switch to Messiah to endure and restore your health from her Megidolaon (or whatever Persona of yours has Enduring Soul; I highly recommend carrying one with Enduring Soul because it saves you a turn of healing up). Then, hit her hard with Morning Stars or Theurgy attacks to get her down from 13,000 to the 9999 threshold, you'll have three turns to pull this off; if you fail, she'll hit you with another Megidolaon and you'll have to start the fight over. Be mindful of how much SP you have, I certainly recommend leveling up as much as possible for this fight. Once she hits this new threshold, she jumps into Phase 3.
Phase 3:
Elizabeth praises you again and recovers her health back to 20,000. Frustrating, I know, but this is the home stretch believe it or not. If you skipped Phase 2, you might want to take a turn to use a Soma. ... Heck, you might want to use an SP recovery item anyway, if you're pretty low.
Otherwise, jump into Chi You. Do not forget this. Elizabeth will now be using two Persona each turn, but still get two attacks only; after she cycles through Fire/Ice, Electric/Wind, Light/Dark, she'll start varying it up (in my experience, she does ailment/electric next, but after that she has a new cycle to pay attention to). Chi You has no resistances to worry about, and as long as you watch for physical resistances on her end, you should be able to whittle her back down to the 9999 threshold. Just keep using Charge + Brave Blade, and heal yourself when necessary. Pop one or two Theurgies if you want (again, save Armageddon for later), toss Debilitator Sutras at her if you'd like to weaken her, and Empowering Sutras on yourself. Elizabeth's a glutton for punishment... so go ham.
Important!
Be very careful to not get her below 10,000 without switching to Helel. You need his Endure ability to survive her last Megidolaon. Or, again, if you have a different Persona with Endure just use what you're comfortable with.
Also: SAVE YOUR THIRD THEURGY FOR ARMAGEDDON. Feel free to use Theurgy moves, at most, twice before getting her close to 10,000 hp. Remember to keep in mind where you are on her health bar, the game won't tell you. Around the 11-12,000 mark, hold back on using Theurgy. Save up for the next one. Chi You should be able to whittle down the remainder, and once she's as close to 10,000 as possible, switch to Helel. Use Morning Star to get her below 10,000. Endure kicks in automatically for her last attack (her grand finale, as she calls it). At last, hit her with the Armageddon Theurgy. This always deals 9999 damage, and you need to save this for last because it can only be used once. If you use it up prior to this, you've lost the fight. Trying to attack Elizabeth normally after she's below 10,000 is a futile effort - she'll just heal back up, and cast Megidolaon on you eventually. You've got one shot, but if you've roughly been following what I did here... Pat yourself on the back and enjoy the post-battle chat with Lizzy~ You'll get no EXP from this fight, no materials.... Just a Platinum Bookmark for bragging rights.
If you talk to her at the entrance of Tartaros, she'll give you an Omnipotent Orb. That's your main reward for the Hell she put you through. ^_^ Unfortunately, you can't use it against her in any subsequent NG+ playthrough, but the orb does carry over to NG+. As stated above, Lizzy does not appreciate her elemental attacks not connecting... She will nuke you if you break her rules. Lizzy wants to play, so play nice~
If you stuck it out this long, I salute you. Most other guides are more professional and more in-depth, I suppose. But I figure not everyone has the patience to prepare perfectly for a fight with Elizabeth, not with max levels and stats for Personas... Those can take a while to grind. This is just how I managed it, and I'm throwing my ideas out there for anyone else struggling. (人◕ω◕)

Planar Tour Guide: The Positive Energy Plane part 1
Tumblr media
(art by Ellysiumn on DeviantArt)
Intro
From birth to life to death and beyond, the journey of the soul is a fascinating thing, but the exact specifics are not known for certain in the real world, such things being the purview of theology and faith, not study and science, and even among a single religion the answer can vary a lot (often, unfortunately, due to political reasons, as depressing a thought as that is.)
In the Lost Omens setting, however, the planar scholars do know how the cycle of souls work. Souls are forged in Creation’s Forge, also known as the Positive Energy Plane, where they pass through planar links and portals that exit out into the very core of stars. Unaffected by the gravity, these spiritual essences radiate outward and seek out life on the various worlds surrounding said stars, giving life and will to creatures of all types alongside bathing said worlds in the dilute imperceptible radiance of positive energy alongside the heat and light that makes that life possible in the first place.
From there, life plays itself out, with animals and other lesser lifeforms living and dying, their small, simple souls moving on quickly, while stronger souls inhabit sapient beings of all stripes, accruing different aspects based on the ethos they developed in life.
Then, when they die, they journey to the River of Souls and to the Boneyard, where they are judged, sorted, and sent to the appropriate outer plane until they too become part of the plane, which is then eroded by the Maelstrom, purified in it’s deepest churning waves, and drained into the Antipode, the river or raw quintessence that travels back to the Positive Energy Plane once more to be remixed and reinvigorated by the raw positive essence of that plane where it can form new souls and begin anew.
It is this start and finish of the cycle that we will be looking at today!
Creation’s Forge, The Furnace, The Positive Energy Plane… Whatever name it is given, it remains the source of all life in the Pathfinder core cosmology. It is a place of infinite light and brightness, the shining twin to the Negative Energy Plane’s own devouring darkness. The plane has very little ground to speak of, but what does exist is crystalline, alien, and fantastical.
However, very few mortals have seen it, for despite being the source of life, it is not inherently benign or good. Like any force of nature, it can be extremely destructive to the unprepared. Like a balloon filled with too much air, or perhaps more appropriately a battery flooded with too much charge, unprotected living things are suffused with a rush of vitality, healing all injuries. However, it doesn’t stop, building more and more until, like the aforementioned battery metaphor, the mortal vessel in question can no longer hold in the energy and they explode violently, reduced to fine particles by the totality of their destruction.
Those that use proper planar protections, however, find the plane does have it’s own denizens, including strange guardians and scholars, enlightened beings, eternal titans, and stranger denizens dwell there, ranging from the xenophobic jyoti, davana titans, the serene manasaputra, the cunning turuls, and more, which dell either in the white void or in the crystalline forests and cities found floating here and there.
The one thing you won’t find in Creation’s Forge are the Gods, for all divinities are not welcome on the plane, both evil and good. This is because any deity that had such a foothold in the birthplace of souls would have advantage and opportunity to shift the balance in favor of their own philosophies, even the neutral ones. And so, appointed by some divine force (possibly Monad itself), the jyoti are tasked with protecting and monitoring the plane from divine incursion and manipulation, for ancient legend describes a time when at least one god attempted to seize power over the plane, but were repelled by armies of the bird men and their allies.
While mortal servants of the divine are not so restricted, they are watched by the jyoti when they are welcomed at all, but they can expect to be monitored the whole time.
Though the plane has no direct connection beyond the stellar portals, Creation’s Forge is very close to the Uninverse in an unconventional method, for the eternally-renewing First World has some slight overlap with the plane, the same way a wet towel is warmed and dried over a radiator, the realm of the fey is continuously kept evergreen by the close proximity of the plane. Meanwhile, the plane also borders on the astral and elemental planes as well in ways that are difficult to imagine in three-dimensional reasoning. Meanwhile, the plane’s only connection to the outer planes lies in the constant influx of the Antipode, the counterpart of the River of Souls that brings quintessence back to The Furnace to be renewed again.
Over the week, we’ll see what glimpses there are of this mysterious and surprisingly dangerous plane, but I hope you’re excited with this taster!

∘•······•∘ʚ What is Numerology? ɞ∘•········•∘
Is the study of the symbolism of numbers, each number representing an area of human consciousness, expression, characteristics and talents.
The numbers are energy that can vibrate in a positive or negative potential.
Think of it as a balance where the positive potencial is in the center and at each extreme we find an extreme overbalance or an extreme underbalance, if the number is vibrating at the extreme of either side the energy is negative, if the number is vibrating in the center of the balance the energy is positive.
In the study of numerology you will find out that there is not just one method/branch to study numerology, we have the western numerology that use the numbers 1 to 9 and the master numbers 11 and 22, we have the Kabbalah method that use the Hebrew alphabet (22 letters) to decipher the meaning behind your name and The Tree of Life, we also have the Vedic numerology that use astrology and the numbers 1 to 9, there is no 9 when we analyze the name and finally the Pythagoras method.
