honestly, if you wanted to start playing now might be the best time. they've implemented a new ranking system that ranks based on hours played, so you'd be playing with people that are fairly new to i think?

BRAN/SABINE

1. What are things they both find funny? 

they’ve got a similar dry, crooked sense of humor, so anything quick and clever and sardonic, probably. also, making fun of enikö. ah, family bonding.

3. If they complimented each other, what would they say? 

bran is endlessly impressed by sabine’s determination. the woman turns stubbornness into an art form and by god is she a master of it. also she’s hot as fuck, and sharp and quick and clever, and watching her fight is just. damn. damn.

(sabine, I imagine, likes her smart mouth, no matter what she might say to the contrary.)

9. Have they made each other cry? 

when sabine told bran she intended to take her last name bran definitely got teary (also handsy. very handsy.)

more generally, there are some days that are just bad days and bran… doesn’t really handle not being able to Do Something very well, so there are tears of frustration. privately, though; she wouldn’t want sabine to see her cry over that. it wouldn’t help in the slightest.

(I have no idea if bran has ever made sabine cry. given who sabine is as a person I’d imagine not.)

11. What causes them to fight? 

sabine’s temper. bran’s prodding. either of them being a self-sacrificing idiot on behalf of the other (I think bran’s probably particularly prickly about that one, with the whole like. captain complex thing? like, she’s very defensive of Her People and has a pretty deep-rooted ‘the captain should go down with her ship’ mentality and would be utterly furious if a) someone else took a fall for her, b) it was someone she loved, and c) she couldn’t do anything about it. a lot of helplessness turned to anger.)

19. If they could each write a single line in their marriage vows, what would they be?

“No takebacks.” (it’s an eclectic mix of promising to love and care for til death do us part and also mundane stuff like letting sabine pick the movie for movie night, and sabine has to sit through all of it cause it’s her wedding ha!)

LIRA/ALISTAIR

1. What are things they both find funny? 

she finds his jokes… endearing, more than funny. but her sense of humor veers more towards the blatantly comedic, which I feel his does too, so. idk. slapstick, maybe?

3. If they complimented each other, what would they say? 

lira would compliment his strength. his sense of humor. his growth, and conviction, and how capable a leader he is, even if he never acts like it.

alistair would compliment her drive, and her skill, and her face. what? it’s a nice face. he’d compliment her writing too; she has a way with words befitting the daughter of a teyrn

9. Have they made each other cry? 

lira has never once cried over a boy and doesn’t plan to. alistair is… remarkably steady about everything they are, or rather everything they aren’t. so, honestly, I don’t think so.

11. What causes them to fight? 

lira is pragmatic to a fault, sometimes in ways alistair sees as cruel or shortsighted, and he isn’t afraid (much) to say it. vice versa, alistair is open and honest and giving in ways that make it easy for people to take advantage of him, and lira is always succinct but clear about how much better off he’d be if he would stop trusting every stranger they come across.

they have a big fight about it at some point––do you really think I’m such an idiot, alistair asks, halfway between hurt and furious, and lira says I know you’re damn well not, so you could at least act like it––and lira leaves for… a worrisome amount of time. zevran finds her eventually, and they say their stilted apologies, but it clears the air. (she doesn’t think him an idiot and he knows she isn’t half so callous as she acts. everything else is just noise.)

19. If they could each write a single line in their marriage vows, what would they be? 

lira vows to love him. it means a lot coming from her. alistair vows to stand by her side. but he would anyway, and the whole of ferelden knows it. it’s just nice to say it out loud is all.

VESPER/CULLEN

1. What are things they both find funny? 

they both have a certain gallows humor, a dry-tired way of taking things that are terrible and making them bearable, because it’s that or go mad, and that isn’t an option at the moment.

3. If they complimented each other, what would they say? 

vesper: would compliment his strength, his perseverance, his unwavering dedication (and then probably point out it’s alright to take care for himself among it all, which. pot, kettle, etc.)

cullen: would compliment her dedication, and her kindness, and her sheer determination. she carries the world on her shoulders and never falters once, and he is endlessly in awe of that

9. Have they made each other cry? 

cullen cried in relief when she came home safe after corypheus (privately, folded up against her, so desperately grateful he could hardly breathe). vesper has cried for him and his struggles, and being so powerful and so helpless to do anything but support him. and I think… probably they’ve argued each other to tears. vesper’s temper is brutal and cullen can be unyielding and every now and then it’s just the wrong combination on the wrong day and it–– yeah.

11. What causes them to fight? 

worry. a few old, deep-seated traumas from time spent in the circles. more worry. stubbornness. having a Bad Day and putting that on someone they trust to weather it (which is unfair, but. it be like that, sometimes. they’re good at apologizing. they try to do better, each time. they’re getting there.)

19. If they could each write a single line in their marriage vows, what would they be?

vesper: I swear to love you for all that you are, and as none but yourself. You have always stood strong by my side, and now I will gladly stand by yours through all that life may bring us.

cullen: I offer you my shoulder to lean on, that your burdens may be mine, that your needs may be mine, so that together we may be better than the sum of our parts.

55. What’s your character’s core trait? What’s their best trait? What’s their worst trait? When happens when these all interact with each other?

his core trait is mercy. his best trait is that he can empathize with anybody. his worst trait is that he tends to be a bit Too Trusting. he believes the best in everybody, or at least he wants to believe the best in everybody. he doesn’t think that anybody anywhere is born inherently evil, and as such he believes that everybody no matter how terrible, has the potential for good.

that last part has been tested Significantly ever since he’s started travelling the world at large, but on the whole he’s clung to the belief that anyone can turn over a new leaf if their remorse is genuine and the desire to change is strong

NOW WHEN APPLIED PRACTICALLY THOUGH……… there are some situations where mercy isn’t an option…….. and that’s when he uhhh gets Angry. people who commit acts of cruelty/crime/etc. and have absolutely zero guilt over their actions INFURIATE him. sarenrae is the goddess of healing light but she is also the goddess of FIRE and boy does he take the other half of sarenrae’s teachings to HEART
