What an unusual home! (And, not in a good way.) Completely remodeled 1865 townhouse in Philadelphia, PA has 3bds, 2ba, 2,698 sq ft, $3.5m. Looks like it had a mansard roof. Whoever did this should be incarcerated. And, I don't care about those of you who love it, I was prepared to love it, too, but it's an ugly remodel. Looks cheap w/the laminate surfaces.

It looks very sculptural and very underground-garage-like.

This large room is sectioned off by a portable wall. This must be like a rec room area.

You go right up the stairs to the main living quarters. I'm surprised that there's no elevator.

I would feel inclined to decorate these windows w/Muppets.

This is a storage wall with a huge bar behind.

This is crazy- the building was built in 1865. It's not even a ghost of its former self.

There isn't one remnant of the past left. Are those dishes in there?

Up here there's a loft area. Maybe it's a bedroom and ensuite?

B/c from there, you go up the yellow spiral stairs to the next level.

Open area with a small square fireplace in the corner.

There's another level above with an open loft. A round service window and dining area are in the corner.

Kitchen. I can't decide if it looks more mid century or modern IKEA.

This has to be a bedroom.

Stairs in a closet? I don't understand this architecture.

So, this must be the uppermost floor. It's open to the floor below and must be the primary bedroom.

That's a pretty tall step up to those doors that open to the rooftop deck.

Ensuite and walk-in closet.

Here we have a laundry room with deck access.

All of the neighbors have rooftop decks. 1,013 sq ft lot

The secret to good school is good funding. One day, I dream of a world where all schools have options for their children. Personally, I think it's pretty important for that sort of thing to start out early. See if you're actually into that think BEFORE you're 100k in debt and hating your life.

My area has some awesome architecture. One time, I wanted to do a project on it, and my teacher said it was too complicated. I cried, like genuinely left that class, found a place to sit down, and just cried. The buildings were pretty, and I wanted to talk about them. I really do love the amount of thought put into those buildings. The people who made them are dead, but their art is still there. A bunch of dudes 100 years ago sat down and designed this theater. Then more came in and built it. And here I am, sitting there.

Architecture is so awesome in the way that it's interactive. It can survive longer than any human.

also sameee my city has a lot of old architecture (especially my school. some of the buildings are falling apart but they're very old and very pretty) and im like just in awe of it like architecture is an art but it's more than an art because unlike a lot of art it's not just something to look at it's somewhere someone lives or works or goes with friends and makes memories like a lot of art doesnt have a practical function but architecture does and it serves as a setting for so much of people's lives and that's really impactful and so awesome because there's architecture everywhere and it's all so beautiful *dreamy sigh*

also sucks that ur teacher sucked i hate when teachers/profs won't let you do projects on what ur passionate abt like passion is the basis of learning why aren't u supporting that....

This is insane! It's a former carriage house built in the mid-1800s in New York City. They changed the street address to make it a part of the condo building next door. So, now it's a 3bd, 3ba condo priced at $7M and b/c it's part of a boutique condominium with 24/7 concierge services, a live-in resident manager, and only six units, you also pay a $6,777mo. HOA. (So, the concierge is in another building. How does that work?)

It has also been completely renovated.

Look at how tiny the living/dining room is. They also put in a huge skylight.

The kitchen is pretty nice. I like the marble (quartz?) backsplash and pale gray cabinetry. That concludes the 1st fl.

Then, you go up to the bedrooms.

The bedroom on this side is nice.

It has a lovely en-suite.

This is also a nice room.

And, it also has a beautiful en-suite.

So, apparently, the 3rd bd. is down in the basement.
