so like, i'm fascinated by this, right, in all depictions of masked lucina - her awakening portrait, warriors, heroes, the lucina figma, whatever, - you can clearly tell that her hair is cropped short, identical to marth's style. and yet, when her mask breaks in awakening, her hair just goes flying out, like she had it tucked away somewhere. when i first played awakening i just rationalized it as maybe her long hair was tucked into her collar, or something, but playing the insane amounts of fe:w i am -

there is nowhere for the hair to BE it is clearly just cut short

so

funny thing is, you can see that the hair is short in the same scene

there are multiple points where you can see the back of her head

also, there's a really fast and hard cut between lucina's mask being cut and the close up of her face, revealing her long hair

......almost like they needed to switch out her model, or something......

I'm happy to report that I was able to successfully recover Esme's cute headband + hairfeathers from the vanilla game for the Women of Enderal replacer I use.

Plus some of my additional custom tweaks so I could make her look how I want her to.

This mod has the original hairband and hairfeathers that I thought looked just as good for her. The kind I'm using has physics, which I love.

hard at work in the blender mines taking apart aventurine's boss model piece by piece and his hip-to-waist ratio is making me unwise

#his boss model's ass is so much more lovingly sculpted than his playable model's it's unfair #the claws are removable but the mask is part of his head. got no face bc he a freak like that #if u take the doohickey off the front of his mask u can see his bangs clip into it lol the hair mesh just ends at the hat brim #the heels of his boots are so tall... boss form already makes him so much bigger and he's got the equivalent of 4 inch heels on top of that #AND he floats. man is COMPENSATING #idt i'm gonna do anything with the model itself i just wanted to see how it's put together and how much of the outfit is fused to him #hsr #aventurine

I tried out a very different painting technique then my usual here, which is to paint over the line art and also to paint everything on ONE layer. It was nerve-wracking at first, but then kind of freeing! I also tried a new set of hair drawing brushes, and this is my very first time in all of my years of using digital art to use the Liquify tool to tweak proportions. It's still not perfect (I think the DAZ pic is getting close to Etienne's "distractingly pretty" status, and so mine falls a bit short when compared to it, LOL), but I learned a lot, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. ♥
