Now I'm curious, who would you say are your favorite and least favorite oc characters from the different mods?

Alright a less negative ask!

I will only do the ones I know, so no Finalverse since I never got the chance to read it before Aliza deleted it.

A Student out of Time

Favourite: Kyoji Nakamura. I remember this guy from ATDK and I loved him back then and now with better writing he is even better. The fact I’m planning to do a character analysis on him at some point should tell you all. Probably the bits I like the most is how Kyoji is a complete inverse to the typical Author Avatar/Self Inserts where instead of making things better, he makes things worse. I have been trying to do that with Review Anon to a degree but she’s not as disaster prone as Kyoji, nobody can top him there.

Least Favourite: Maverick Storm. I used to like this guy but now he’s in a blog with better writing and he isn’t shielded by a bunch of stupid OCs, his flaws are really coming to the forth-front. My opinion of The Puppetmaster has also worsened since time went on, it’s certainly not S tier anymore I will tell you that. Again I don’t hate Maverick and he doesn’t piss me off, it’s just when compared to the other ASOOT OCs, he really is the weakest.

Despair To Future Arc

Favourite: Masa Esumi. As a Nikei fanboy it sounds sacrilege I know but if there’s one advantage reading DTFA has done, it’s made me appreciate the characters the blogs share. And Masa has really grown on me as a character. I already liked her in ASOOT but DTFA elevated it to new levels as I do like a character who despite being held down by many restrictions, finds ways to do the right thing and screw over the bad guys. And speaking of Nikei, while I might like him, I am not blind to his faults and Masa can put him in his place.

If you want me to go for someone not shared between the blogs then Naoyuki Harumaki. Guy is not the brightest spark but his heart is in the right place and yes I do ship him and Masa. Big time. Can’t wait for him to show up in ASOOT proper.

Least Favourite: Minoru Suzuki. Thought I was gonna have Monaca’s mother here did you? Well sorry but no, because as bad as Satoko is, she’s meant to be hated and despised as she’s basically the DTFA main original villain. But Minoru is just Arturo if he was born into this generation and yeah if you couldn’t tell I don’t like Arturo but who does? Aside from being a rude doctor, he is also a horrible brother to Sanae and there’s his treatment of Kikue, yep that got me raging. I’m also 100% convinced he’s Kikue’s original abusive husband from ASOOT. Worst part is he’s gonna receive no consequences and that’s why I despise him more then Satoko, she will in the end get her reckoning, Minoru won’t.

Survivor

Favourite: Kuripa Kufato. Now bear in mind I still have a backlog to go through so this might change in the future but right now Kuripa is the shining star of the OCs. Firstly as I mentioned in a previous ask, Kuripa is completely mad and psychotic and I love it. Yes he’s a good guy, but he’s also so much like the Punisher and really makes the villains. Which honestly can be quite cathartic as Hajime is way too nice and Nagi also is to an extend so having a MC who is a bit more willing to let loose is a breath of fresh air. That being said, I also know he is unsubstainable and he will die bloody and messy. But it won’t be quiet I tell you for that. He also has decent chemistry with the canon cast as everyone and I mean everyone has an opinion on the guy. He’s like marmite, you either love him or hate him.

Least Favourite: Matta Gyalusetsu. I don’t like Villain Sues and that’s what Matta is in spades. Something I feel is done on purpose by how Creeper is writing him. The worst part is while most of the villains in Survivor are either entertaining or you could make them suffer, you can’t do that to Matta as trying to torture him won’t work. But what really grinds my gears is the notion he is in the right and all his actions are ultimately justified. Is Kuripa a harbinger of doom? I don’t know. But finding out he has a literal Operation Phoenix? Yeah me no liekey. And while I suspect my favourite Survivor character will change, I doubt there is a OC in Survivor that will top Matta in how much I dislike him.

And that’s that. I’m not including A New Future because there isn’t many OCs on there yet and again no Finalverse because it got deleted before I got a chance to read it.

i think the omori fandom wiki mods are like... way too mean to omori. the language they use portrays him as not really evil... but sinister? like he has bad intentions.

even the english harumaki gohan wiki mods are nicer to a similar character, antikage (fanon name, she doesnt have an official one). and when someone translating the manga she appears in is kinda mean to her, it is pointed out by the community.

im making the comparison because both characters seem to wish to protect their other half, no matter the cost. sure, omori is more extreme with it, but jeez. be nice to him. hes literally sunnys coping mechanism.

It should be expected when I say that Shuuichi Saihara is not one for hugs, despite the amount of love he bears for his s/o.

Don’t get me wrong, he is delighted that his s/o could be so kind and loving enough to just hug him on the spot, but most of the time, hugging just makes him feel… uncomfortable.

If he were to get hugged, Saihara would simply quietly thank s/o before tentatively wrapping his arms around them.

Not going to lie, his face would be red as he continues to think about the hug for the rest of the day.

That was the day he realized that he had truly fallen for his s/o.

“Uhm…. Thanks for the hug…. I guess…. N-Not too tight, next time, though.”

Kokichi Ouma:

My dear friend, Kokichi Ouma does not simply hug, he clings.

He is like a sloth, he is never going to let go of his s/o.

S/o is never sure whether he does it out of love, or just to annoy them.

His only response is an impish ‘Nishishishi’

Tenko Chabashira (Senpai Disease)

-From what you could tell, she was acting no different, treating each of the girls the same as usual.

-The “male degenerates” walk in and you expect more of the same, but no, life isn’t that simple, and you’re not that lucky.

-She begins to fawn all over ever single boys she sees, giving extremely detailed descriptions as to why she loves each of them.

-”-And Korekiyo is so pretty and Kokichi is so cute and Kaito is so manly and Rantaro is so smooth and I just...love all of them?!?!? Like, I just want them all the time???”

-Our followers agree Tenko. So many boys’ asks.

-She ends up gushing about them to you almost non-stop, but she ends up a blushing and nervous wreck every time any of them try to talk to her.

-It gets old pretty quickly, mostly because you wish she would keep her eyes on you. Senpai needs to stop noticing her senpai and notice you instead

Kirumi Tojo (Clumsy Disease)

-She has become the maid stereotype.

-The cutesy and “uwu master I’m sorry~” maid that should probably look into other employment.

-In all seriousness, it’s a little bit endearing.

-But then you remember this is Kirumi and it suddenly feels very wrong.

-It’s cute for all of three seconds until you get an overwhelming sense of awkwardness when she drops some plates and looks at you with tears in her eyes.

-Oh God. She looks so sad. You can’t do this.

-You gently try to comfort her and tell her how amazing she is and that she shouldn’t worry because she’s doing her best.

-The moe is too much.

Miu Iruma (Shy Disease)

-When she skips breakfast you get worried, so you go to her room to check on her.

-You knock on her door and she doesn’t respond, but realize it’s unlocked and go in anyways.

-”Ah! S/O! Don’t come in...”

-She’s just sitting on her bed hugging her pillow staring at you with innocent and downcast eyes.

-She confesses that she’s too scared to go outside because of all the eyes that will be on her.

-You ask her what you can do to convince her to leave her room.

-She immediately latches on to you and makes you walk her around everywhere without letting go of her iron grip on your hand, and you end up having to play interpreter because no one understands her nervous and broken stuttering.

Himiko Yumeno (Hyperactive Disease)

-You wake up to a broken doorknob and a loli jumping up and down on your chest

-”Nyaa~. Wake up S/O! We have stuff to do!”

-She drags you out of your room before you even have enough time to wipe away the tiredness

-She’s running up and down the halls, excitedly talking to anyone who passes by and being interested in literally everything that crosses her path

-It’s nice to see her so full of life, regardless of the unfortunate circumstances

-She pulls all sorts of innocent pranks, like hugging you out of nowhere and covering you in whip cream when you look away from her for even a second

-It’s cute, but you did not enter this relationship expecting her to ever be this high-maintenance

Maki Harukawa (Caretaking Disease)

-Ultimate Caretaker she may be, you really weren’t expecting this

-She starts off the day by giving you a welcoming hug as if it’s the most natural thing in the world. Then she makes you breakfast and proceeds to gush over you the entire morning

-She goes on nonstop about how much she loves you and how proud of you she is- even though you have no idea what she’s talking about

-She follows you around all day and tells off anyone she thinks is being mean to you (ie looking at you funny)

-She’s constantly monitoring your health and mood to make sure you’re feeling alright

-Now she’s nuzzling you. Ok

-This isn’t...bad? You’re just very confused and you feel like she’s gonna be pissed when she gets better

-At who? You’re afraid of that as well

Angie Yonaga (Hentai Disease)

-She’s always prided herself on being Atua’s vessel, and it’s obvious that she does her best to glorify him.

-You have no problem modeling for her when she asks for your help for her next piece.

-With the despair disease going around, you’re just glad she’s trying to keep a sense of normalcy.

-And then you see the art.

-That’s you but...why aren’t you wearing any clothes? You were wearing clothes when she drew it!

-And how does she know about all your birthmarks?! She’s never seen those!

-She doesn’t see anything wrong with it and innocently asks you for your opinion.

-It’s totally fine.

Tsumugi Shirogane (Normie Disease)

-You realize something is wrong the moment you begin to get more references than you usually do.

-Like, you love her, you really do, but she is into some underground shit.

-But then you realize that she has shit tastes and you can’t forgive Monokuma for this transgression.

-He has broken her beyond repair. She would die before uttering half the words coming out of her mouth.

-She has the most basic and boring tastes imaginable omitted to prevent flame wars and talking to her is painful.

-She is the embodiment of every bad fan you can think of.

-Still, you have to put up with her.

Kiibo x Ouma

“HEY DO ROBOTS HAVE DICKS”

Kiibo and Ouma’s relationship can only be described as love/hate.

What with Ouma’s teasing and Kiibo’s accusations of being robophobic, everyone was shocked to hear they were dating.

Ouma is actually incredibly interested in how robots work, constantly asking Kiibo questions, some teasingly, some genuine and some that shouldn’t be spoken about unless you want Kiibo to commit bloody murder.

Kiibo will try and join Ouma in his prank wars, but most of the time he’ll mess up, or the prank is secretly on him. Ouma always has a laugh when it comes to them.

Ouma once found out that a simple touch of affection will cause Kiibo to either shut his mouth or, if it’s a tad more intimate, to overheat and crash. Ouma uses this to his advantage during arguments.

Kiibo is absolutely against Ouma’s lying. Once he proposed a challenge to Ouma, saying that he cannot let go of his hand for the entire day. Of course, Ouma accepts, smugly stating that he’ll win. As Ouma is talking to people, if Kiibo senses Ouma’s heartbeat becoming a bit faster, possibly due to his lying, he’ll give him a little shock, and it grows with each lie. Ouma freaks out and swears like a sailor the first time it happens, and he glumly has to tell the truth the entire day while Kiibo has a death grip on his hand.
