Tattoo You - A Haladriel Not-So-Meet-Cute (Teaser Snippet)

I’m hopefully going to have this all ready for Day 5 of the #tropvalentines2023 event but in the meantime, here’s a teaser of my Haladriel tattooist/florist mod!AU (which I didn’t even know was a thing but apparently is - a shout out to my Reylo fic writing friend for suggesting that should be the trope here) not-so-meet-cute.

“Just look at you,” Halbrand smoothly lowered himself into one of the conveniently placed armchairs in the reception area, only breaking eye contact when pulling his shirt off over his head meant losing sight of her icy glare, reclining further when he was done stripping down. “You’re flawless. Only an idiot would want an artist touching them who’s too afraid or too incompetent to promote their work.”

“I’ll have you know I’m-“

“Yes?” he hummed as she seemed unable to stop herself storming a little further into his personal space, close enough now for him to know her hair smelled like coconut and mango, close enough now for him to feel the heat of her body like she could definitely feel his, close enough now for him to reach out and run his hand up her thigh to pull her closer still. If she’d shown any kind of interest he might have done so without another thought, but it was almost disappointing to receive nothing more than an unimpressed eye roll after being commanded to undress.
