Not to mention there s so much to critique about infinikki, namely how Clunky everything feels. The menus arent responsive at all, jt takes a full 3 seconds to open and close somethin, the esc key doesnt work on All pages just Some of them, the movement is slow and jumping onto things is fiddly, but somehow nikki is also very floaty and jumping with her isnt v satisfying. Kinda sucks for a platforming game huh?

There s other smaller things like abilities bein region locked for no good reason, the sound design in cutscenes (and general tbh) being lacking to put it in the kindest of words, the weird sorting system in the wardrobe + styling battle screen (so why exactly arent you showing me the latest aquired clothes/ the highest rated item for the particular filter i put on?? Its ur only job??? Also y does the eureka screen not have a filter for style types like sexy elegant sweet etc?? I hate the score calculator of eurekas but i ll stop)

Apprentice-mobile headcanons

Amanda’s not allowed to drive the apprentice-mobile anymore because she’d keep swerving trying to scare everyone.

Hoffman is the designated driver, and wouldn’t let anybody else if they asked.

Lawrence wants to drive (he’s the only one that cares about laws) but John doesn’t want him to with his foot.

Just to throw him in there, Logan refuses to drive. He doesn’t care if he sits in the back or the passenger, he just hates driving.

John sits in the back to hold some of his medical stuff, he’s usually forced to sit in the middle because nobody else wants to.

Amanda will go “Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?” and Hoffman will yell at her like a mom driving her kids.

They take turns sitting in the front seat, but Lawrence is up there 80% of the time.

Logan wears headphones and blasts music so loud the whole car can hear it.

They’re all super serious about seat belts safety, even Hoffman and Amanda, despite how terrible they drive. If anyone isn’t wearing one and the car starts beeping, they all start to berate whoever forgot.

Hoffman gets road rage, but less yelling and more *sharp inhale*.

Amanda has yelling kicking flipping people off road rage, the last time she was allowed to drive she pulled the car over to get in a fight with someone.

Adam had to get a ride once and didn’t have a seat, so he sat on Lawrence’s lap.

They don’t usually go on super long rides, but they will occasionally turn on the radio if it gets too quiet.

Lawrence is an avid look out the window-er.

If anyone takes a phone call, Amanda says inappropriate things in the background. Lawrence usually takes important work calls, so she won’t for him. (John gets mad at her)

John doesn’t let anyone smoke, even if they roll down the windows, so they do it when he isn’t around then fabreeze the car.

Hoffman drove drunk a few times (he was able to hide it well) but almost drove everyone into a ditch one time. Never did it again.

Amanda always has snacks. Nobody knows where she gets them from, or if she keeps them in her pockets. Everyone thinks she’s gonna stain the seat one of these days.

They kidnapped someone and threw him in the trunk once, but he woke up and tried to break out. They always tied them up after that.

Amanda forces Hoffman to slow down so she can catcall. Except it’s less catcalling and more blatant insult. That’s canon now.

Amanda and Logan will occasionally be in a good mood and quote vines, but they’re the only ones who get it.

Hoffman enjoys not holding the steering wheel when going down a long road. It freaks everyone out.

Hoffman got a call from Strahm once and Amanda made kissy noises. He hung up immediately and never answered the phone again.

Lawrence is constantly pointing out the traffic laws being broken, like “You couldn’t turn right there” and Hoffman goes “Yes thank you I noticed I know I don’t care”

They had to turn the child lock on for a few weeks because Amanda tuck and rolled.

Somehow the apprentice-mobile always smells new. (occasionally there’s a strong smell of formaldehyde but that’s only happened twice)

So unfortunately I have this fuck ass anxiety disorder. And thus I also have this need to justify everything I do. So this rambling about The Saw Content is absolutely being fueled by a lot of irrational worry but also maybe just rambling about it will help calm that worry lmao

Like I've constantly got this worry over YOU'RE DOING THIS WRONG and THAT WRONG and THAT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN LIKE THAT. But I've also just sorta found the words for the characterizations I've been writing for the chainshipping arts + content in general lmao- been thinking about it and it's just like,, The canon material to work with really are just small glimpses into both character's lives, and who they are. And it just so happens in that in these small glimpses, both characters are in different states of misery. And like,, OBVIOUSLY IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING that it's something that's very much affecting the both of them, in varying ways. In the way they act, make decisions, treat others, etc etc etc... and not that this misery is the sole reason for this or that, but. Something that is clearly affecting their lives, nonetheless-

(Which just a quick aside, this is not me wanting to justify or excuse either of their wrongdoings, of course. It's just like, I CAN SEE THE UNHAPPINESS BEING A REASON FOR WHY X OR Y OR Z HAPPENED THE WAY IT DID, Y'KNOW,)

So a lot of what I think about with them is what they'd be like if they were in truly content + happy states, and put in the work to get to those states. If they tackled their demons, and wanted to be better for themselves and others. And that's the story that I'm most interested in exploring with the both of em, y’know 😭 ? It's about the love, happiness, and redemption, 🤌

And I am also probably just yapping here and I maybe don't need to clarify any of this lol, and also it's like. I'm sitting here fretting and worrying over things that are genuinely completely trivial in The Grand Scope of life. But uhh

Okay here's my EA conspiracy theory lol:

You know how they've tried implementing online features in every Sims game but held back due to negative reaction, same with microtransaction DLC, and they've been increasingly focused on mobile gaming (where online connectivity is basically a given and microtransactions are more "accepted")?

I think their choices with the franchise have been attempting to shift the game's userbase to one that wants multiplayer and will pay for microtransactions. That's why they put so many resources into The Sims Mobile and made TS4 on console virtually identical to the PC version, why they introduced Kits, and showed mobile connectivity in the TS5 announcement.

Not every Sims player likes those things, but the ones who do are the ones giving them money, and at this point I think they've managed to shift the userbase towards that enough that they may actually manage to make a multiplayer, microtransaction Sims installment that will receive positive reception this time. And I think they'll accomplish that by catering to mobile gamers and build out from there, maybe even cross-platform support or whatever.

So basically I think The Sims 5 will be like Fortnite lol
