normally I am of the belief that everyone "deserves" the benefit of the doubt, especially when it comes to good faith efforts to educate people, but mizumanta is a known troll who has been at this for literal years and I personally don't believe anyone should waste their time.
Thank you, Anon! Yes, I agree with that now. I try to give everyone a chance, but he’s refusing to engage in good faith. Nature of the Internet, I suppose.

Maybe in the US, but remember that there are many countries that have outlawed alcohol, and have lower crime rates. There’s also a restriction in many freedoms, but yes, fewer car accidents, lower rates of child abuse, lower rates of addiction, etc.
...............................................Prove it.
I’m not even gonna GO THERE unless you invest a little work into your claims first. PROVE IT.

I made an observation the other day, while...
It’s not a valid point. Captain marvel got called out for assaulting a guy for words. Which she was meant to be praised for. Female hero characters often have a stereotypical sexist guy that she gets to hurt for empowerment points. When male superheroes or whoever hurt people who dont deserve it, we dont cheer them on. We recognize it as bad and irresponsible. It isnt considered or marketed as empowerment or something to repeat. But people (bad activists) are much harsher on critiquing men
So you’re telling me that there was a huge outcry in the fandom when Bucky the Winter Soldier yanked that guy off the motorcycle and tossed him into traffic in Captain America: Civil War?
So you’re telling me that no one cheered Peter Parker in 2002′s Spider-Man when he humiliated Flash Thompson?
So you’re telling me that the fandoms have serious problems with generations of James Bonds causing incredible amounts of property damage to innocent bystanders and their lives?
There wasn’t.   But Captain Marvel steals a motorcycle from a jackass and she’s doing it for ‘empowerment points’ and not because she’s a badass like James Bond?

“In which I address some bullshit comments on my post”
..Honey... you do realize that post and my subsequent reply are old af? Did you seriously just rage on a post that’s old as balls and quite frankly I forgot existed? But, I’ve got some downtime right now so I’ll humor you.  TBH I don’t remember you or what our original debate consisted off and I don’t give enough fucks to dig it up. So, I’ll just respond to what you’re saying here
Lol you tagged me with a bad argument. Remember those centers for immigrant children that trump is being called a nazi over? Those have been in place since Clinton was president. Obama has a mural of himself in one of. We didnt call Obama a nazi did we?
The facilities have existed, yes. The policy requiring families be separated did not. How are you not getting that?
The comment wasnt even for you, but someone who made a racist comment. But if the shoe fits, lace that bitch up and wear it.
No idea what you’re talking about
And the news has been going into press releases and the like specifically looking to trash him. Reporters are supposed to be objective. Give CNN the same treatment you give Fox news when they show bias in their reporting. CNN has, on multiple occasions, mocked Trump for not implementing a method or law, only for him to reveal that he was already doing that and getting it ready weeks ago. And then they shift gears and call the thing they demanded of him a bad idea.
I’m sorry, did you just complain about the press reading press releases? That’s what they’re fucking there for. Again, just because the media is saying negative things about him, does not mean he’s being treated unfairly. It’s their job to report what’s happening. The rest is just a strawman and ain’t nobody got time for all that
And it’s not just him. Social media attacks him for no reason. The guy made a standard celebrity message about Aretha Franklin being talented and how she will be missed and literally thousands of people called his comment racist.
By “social media” you do realize you’re talking about people, right? People criticizing the president on social media. WOW. What a concept!!!! It’s almost like he’s got a super low approval rating because he’s doing a piss poor job. Again, more strawman, moving on.
I didnt say he was a great president, but he is being treated unfairly. People blame him for things that have been in place since before he was sworn in. People don’t even pay attention to what he supports at this point. They just oppose it. They twist his words around on even innocent things. The guys says a violent murderous gang is animals and you all twist it into saying that all latinos are animals.
How exactly is he being treated unfairly? Specifically, I mean. And yet another strawman. You might as well plant a cornfield at this rate.
Your entire reply was, your entire counterargument was just you relying on popular opinion and sass instead fact. You didn’t prove anything wrong, you just made a snarky post that gained literally 1 note.
I could not give less fucks about how many notes my posts get.

@mizumanta replied to your photoset “Tadano-kun,,,,,,,,”
By his own logic, he will be replacing people’s jobs with robots. His stance was that humans shouldnt do work robots can easily do. But that definitely means jobs that people want will be taken. If a machine can do it faster and better for cheaper, why would anyone hire a woman (or man) who wants to do it? He imposed his beliefs on retsuko too. That everyone would just be okay with it.
lol okay first of all make your own post
Now, yes, he did try to force his ideals on Retsuko which I really didn’t like but this dumbass is clearly very bad at dealing with people and he’s still just like 25 years old so let’s cut him a break for being an idealistic dumbass. He’ll learn to respect other people’s lifestyles, and I think Retsuko breaking up with him was his first step towards that.
Second of all, he literally explained right after this line that he would still be paying the employees for the job, which is most often the issue with machines taking people’s jobs. If you look at this scene in its entirety, rather than just two lines from two screenshots I took while liveblogging, his core beliefs are that machines should do all the boring, tedious and / or hard work that people are currently forced / pressured to do because of how society is set up, and that people should be free to pursue their hobbies and dreams while still making money (the universal basic income principle).
He’s still inexperienced and living in his own bubble of ideals - I’m thinking that’s because before meeting Retsuko, he doesn’t seem to have any real friends besides his own AI, so has rarely met anyone who he’s explained his ideals to who would challenge him - and so he hasn’t realised yet that some people actually like their jobs. Again, I think the whole break up moment with Retsuko has changed this, and I believe he’ll adjust his vision accordingly.
This is my interpretation of his character and while you are free to disagree, I’d like to ask you to do so in your own posts (or on posts of others who share your view) going forward, thanks.

Are you guys familiar with mizumanta? Because that asshole decided to comment on @wearejapanese's post about their opinion on Cheshireinthemiddle and said '“They talk down the experiences of others” thats literally what youre doing to them lol. And like take 5 seconds to look on their blog. They take pictures from japan, post in the japanese time zone, and literally have pictures of themselves. Like chill out just cause they wont let you speak for them.' And 'Op is the racist one.'
I’m not really familiar with them, but if you’re quoting what they said, then that’s really… not a gotcha. We already knew that.
It’s always been painfully obvious that Jackson has a Japanese girlfriend that he’s been sockpuppeting for like half a decade. He could have a fake Japanese girlfriend wherever he lived—that’s the convenient part of having a fake Japanese girlfriend! It’s just extra pathetic he has a fake Japanese girlfriend while living as an expat in Japan.

@mizumanta @joinsideke according to these sources: White men https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2023/3/12/2157746/-Republican-Sexual-Predators-Abusers-and-Enablers-Pt-1 https://www.whoismakingnews.com/
@mizumanta @joinsideke another source: https://twitter.com/antifaoperative
I'm not how sure a post on a random popular left-wing blog about cherry-picked Republicans, specifically, is supposed to prove the point.
Unless the actual point of those "sources" is just to bait right-wingers and spout nonsense, even though plenty of people across the political spectrum have issues with women picking bear.
The irony, of course, is that by assuming Republican men are all white, you just demonstrated racism.
Even assuming most of them are white without actually checking is racism.
And the post doesn't have a single picture of the arrested officials, or seems to discuss race.
Who Is Making News is pretty blatantly a partisan, left-wing site. I like the smug implication that religious child abuse is not a big issue for conservatives, when it has been an international controversy for literally decades. Also, that site doesn't seem to care much about race.
So, two left-wing sources about sex-crimes, not overall assaults.
And, of course, last time I saw FBI stats, a random black American man were more likely to be violent criminals than any other combination of race and gender.
Brothas a lot like me.
But good job giving more proof that you're out of touch, I guess?

mizumanta said: China doesn’t have it handled lol. They just withhold info to look good
it's mind-boggling that you people are still saying stuff like this when you can read their daily briefings right here, in English for your convenience:
http://en.nhc.gov.cn/2021-08/13/c_84378.htm
we know that China is currently dealing with a fresh outbreak of the delta strain because they tell the world "we are currently dealing with a fresh outbreak of the delta strain" and post updates on which cities are undergoing mass testing and lockdown.
the thing about the virus is that you can't actually hide it when hospitals are overflowing and people are turned away to die in the street, that's not something you can conceal, and similarly when there isn't an outbreak and people are going about their normal business that's impossible to hide too! you can just go on Weibo and see whether people are posting updates on their regular life or stuck at home in lockdown, it's that easy.
obviously China isn't transparent about everything, and the death toll in Wuhan was undercounted by at least x3-10, that much is clear.
and so far it's not looking like any country is going to succeed in entirely eradicating the delta strain, although we came close in Melbourne and got it down to zero cases for one (1) day.
but China really did have fewer coronavirus deaths than the US over the period from 1 Jan 2020 to 14 Aug 2021, that's simply a fact that cannot be denied, and if it breaks your brain to the point that you start spouting inanities about it then maybe you need to reconsider your worldview a little.

Hey, just a heads up, three of the bloggers on this post: tem-pissed-in-a-t-pot(.)tumblr(.)com/post/632510793626320896/cheshireinthemiddle-mizumanta, modkhahateseverything, tumblrisafeckinjoke and chesireinthemiddle, are anti-sj/feminist blogs. Modkhahateseverything believes that you need dysphoria to be trans and is generally anti-mogai (modkhateseverything(.)tumblr(.)com/abt/), and the mods(?) of the chesireinthemiddle blog believe that reverse racism and heterophobia exists.
Oh that’s gross. Thanks for letting me know!

In which I address some bullshit comments on my post
@mizumanta replied to your link
“U.S. Plans to Withdraw From UN Human Rights Council Today”
I made this a post because I wanted to take a sec to address the utter idiocy that was just directed at me. How dare you make me read this with my own eyes?
Anyway, let’s break it down:
you comment would only hold weight if we didnt already know for sure that the treatment was different for the same action.
What other president issued an EO that required families to be separated at the border for no legally justifiable reason?
Tumblr media
We *know* that he is being unfairly targeted.
No he’s not. Just because ‘the media’ isn’t saying nice things about Trump doesn’t mean they’re targeting him. It means there’s nothing nice to say. Trump is a shitty person doing a shitty job as president. Moving on.
That this was only a problem when he took it over.
Yeah, because he’s the president who made the EO. Are you not understanding that?
That’s the issue. A double standard. An unfair treatment.
It’s not a double standard. No other president did this.
I’m objective enough to recognize it even though I dislike the current president. Clearly you are not.
You may be ‘objective’ but you are very very very clearly uninformed. Seriously, Google is free. You might wanna research this before you keep trying to offer your opinion like it’s valid.
double standards shouldn’t be *your* standard for activism.
They aren’t.
You cant suddenly be against something that’s been around for decades just because a person you dont like is now in charge of it.
It’s not been around for decades, you twit. The border separations were a direct result of the EO that Trump issued. No other president issued an EO requiring border separations. Seriously, Google is free Homie.
And since you want to make it about race,
At what point did I attempt to make it about race? Get the fuck outta here with that strawman bullshit.
you cant support a black person doing something then call the white person a nazi for doing that same thing right after. Double standard.
You are absolutely right. And this statement would be valid if the Obama administration had the same policies and practices. Buuuut they didn’t. So, moot point. I didn’t support Obama doing family separations because Obama didn’t do family separations for no legally justifiable reason.
Seriously, at least attempt to have an informed opinion.

mizumanta replied to your photoset “Naomi is me @ those of you who always draw canonically fat characters...”
Yet nothing about the standard tumblr style of drawing canonically thin characters fat. You cant say one is okay and the other is not.
You know, I was going to respond to you differently, because you are the first person in 2 months to respond to this post with something...like this. But instead I’m gonna ask you to imagine something, for two seconds. Let’s make a visualization exercise.
Let’s pick, in our minds, a bunch of pieces of media. Let’s pick the most popular books or or comic books, cinematic universes, tv shows, cartoons, anime. Not your favorites, although maybe the notions overlap, but pick them among the ones that are everywhere right now, the ones everyone’s been watching lately, the ones that are around everywhere in media. Judging by most popular, we probably have big names immediately come to our heads.
Now, pick the most important 5 characters from each one of those big names. The leads, the ones that have more movies about them, the ones people see the most.
With that array of popular characters from popular fiction you’ve mentally compiled, I ask you: is there a 50% body diversity divide in them? Are half of them, exactly half of them or more, not thin? Not able bodied? fat? Are half of the ones in that selection of the popular, well written, well depicted, crucial characters, of anything that isn’t, in the case of this example concerning body diversity, thin and able bodied? (although we could do this with other categories as well).
I’m gonna bet no.
I’m gonna bet that maybe the only non thin characters that came up are from Steven Universe and maybe one other thing. Unless you were forcing yourself for the example, trying to cheat, and managed to magically find popular media that is everywhere right now that also has good, respectful, non insulting depictions of body diversity, in which case let me know where they are because I’d love to watch them.
Forms of oppression work with power imbalance. One of those forms of power is media presence. What we call frequently on this site “representation”. The reason why fan artists have to go and produce fat characters is because there aren’t any. It’s because you open a book or you turn on Netflix and you don’t see them as frequently and as overwhelmingly as you see bodies that are not.
People drawing thin characters fat aren’t taking away from a small pile of options. They are taking the vast media they have available and putting themselves somewhere in there because otherwise they don’t exist.
People drawing fat characters thin aren’t only taking away from the small amount of characters that exist with those bodies, they’re also doing it out of the ingrained notion that they can’t produce content if it doesn’t look like that, whether because“they can’t draw them”, or because “they don’t find them attractive” or whatever other excuse I’ve read on this site like those two, it’s always built on a normalized sense of rejection to bodies that aren’t thin and able bodied.
They can’t create content if it doesn’t look like that, is what I’m told by them. And I wonder why that is. I wonder why people’s “normal” in their heads is a certain type of body, even if they themselves sometimes don’t have it, why is it that what they know how to produce easier. Maybe it has to do with the fact that if you take a portion of the media they are growing up watching, you don’t have even a 50% rate of body diversity, so they normalize what they see, even if what they see isn’t themselves.
So no, user mizumanta, I don’t think it’s the same. And if you actually want to learn about it, I think you should visit the appropriate tumblrs to educate you on that (like bigfatscience, thisisthinprivilege or fatphobiabusters). I’m not tagging them because I don’t want to make anyone come to you with all this, I hope that you, in light of this discussion, will be interested to go and try to see the world from a different perspective by yourself.
