Transcendent Enigma by Souv Boa par Souv Boa Via Flickr : maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Le%20Ranch/165/114/1102 To bring "Transcendent Enigma" to life, I used a mixed-media technique that combines different artistic approaches. The creative process begins by capturing scenes, elements, or characters in Second Life, providing a basic sketch for my artistic exploration. From there, I draw and sketch meticulously, breathing life into the initial composition. Through the use of materials carefully created or chosen by cutting out elements from other digital media, I incorporate additional layers of meaning and symbolism into my drawing to amplify the visual impact and attempt, as best I can, to create a multi-sensory experience. Throughout the creative process, I meticulously retouched and adjusted the composition, colors, shadows, luminosity, and textures, ensuring that each element resonated with my artistic vision. Using computer graphic painting tools, I give the work its final form, adding the finishing touches that evoke the desired emotions and atmosphere. "Transcendent Enigma," in my messy creative process, reflects my deep exploration and questioning of spiritual and philosophical themes. It's also an invitation to a transformative journey, unveiling the mysteries of existence and engaging in a contemplative search for meaning.

The daycare kids have taught Sun about a certain Tumblr holiday and the attendant has made a plan to celebrate.

Process below cut (also check the image description for a transcript of the sticky notes and blueprint)

A photo of the actual blueprint and sticky notes made for this drawing, the concept for the cardboard dagger and the paper I used to brainstorm Sun and Moon's written conversation.
Random process tidbits:
The blueprint was drawn on actual construction paper leftover from when I was a little kid.
The dagger is based on the coins Brutus had minted to commemorate the event.
I made 5 oopsie sticky notes when writing out the back and forth notes between the duo, such as the very first one where I accidentally used blue to write out all of Sun's message.
Sun writes in cursive as a nod to the animatronic's theater days. I imagine this dramatic bot was either programmed with or developed fancy handwriting for signing autographs.
I originally wanted to draw parts of the digital drawing in different styles to make this even more collage-like.

A quick sketch to practice coloring. Getting the hang of the alcohol markers is still pretty difficult to me.

Sara Imloul (FR, Mulhouse, 1986)
Le Cordon Passages, (2015-2018, série primée), Mixed media, calotype, gelatin silver contact print on baryta paper, enhanced with ink, pencil and ferricyanide. 13x18 cm, edition of 7
Calotype or talbotype is an early photographic process introduced in 1841 by William Henry Fox Talbot, using paper coated with silver iodide. This process uses a paper negative to make a print with a softer, less sharp image than the daguerreotype.

does anyone have any writing techniques to help with writing about media or history??? I'm struggling with writing a couple of documents about different ideas trying to write about something unique in media.
here's a couple I thought about:
cultural appropriation, religious iconography, and the ignorance of blatant orientalism in modern media
the rise and risks of shock advertising/content in modern media
the demonization of queer artists and religious iconography
I'm just struggling how to extend on them, and observing on Chat GPT with the writing prompts given don't fit my style, and I'm just starting out. What do I do???

I really don't like the feeling of glue sticking on my fingers and also cutting things out is really not how i wanna spend my time on this earth.
So i painted some random sheets of paper with acrylics and gouache and scanned them. Now i can just cut them and change the colors to what ever suits best digitally. And i think this is a method that suits so many ideas of mine, that i just couldn't get right until now. You'll see. It'll be great and awesome and textured.
A lil wip teaser of this technique:
