Guys, both Mitsuki and Lil KiSsEs’s YouTube channels have been hacked, and until Lil KiSsEs is able to get complete control over her channel again, we might need to avoid Gacha City in case the hacker is able to also access the website and change the files to something dangerous. I do not know if Mitsuki also made any mods, but if so, please avoid it until the hacker gets their hands off of the channels.

To Admire Large Purchases

Obtainability: Limited to the “Nagisa’s HOT Summer Break” event gacha.

Single Effect: Regenerate HP [3%] & Damage Up [10%]

MLB Effect: Regenerate HP [4%] & Damage Up [15%]

Effect Definitions:

Regenerate HP will cause the equipped character to regenerate a percentage of their HP for the number of listed turns. The Regen will occur at the end of the turn (note: the end of the enemy’s turn). Regenerate HP can stack.

Damage Up will increase the damage done by the equipped character’s attacks and its effect takes place after the buffs and debuffs are calculated. Damage Increase and Damage Up are essentially the same effect, however Damage Up has a 100% cap while Damage Increase doesn’t. Both collectively cap at 300%.

TLDR: This is Enhancement Fodder.

Review: A fairly boring memoria, “To Admire Large Purchases” is going to be Enhancement Fodder unless you are SUPER desperate-- and even if you are, I promise that there are a number of much better memoria in the game to choose from, even including free-to-play friendly ones.

In fact, fuck the review. C’mon look at that-- 15% Damage Up? On a three-star? With some worthless 4% Regenerate HP? You don’t need me here to say that this is garbage. 

Throw this away into the trashcan and make sure you empty it afterwards so that it doesn’t stick up your whole house.

Things I Love and Dislove About Ikemen Games

These are my opinions!

CONTAINS ADULT CHARACTERS

You don't know how much this means to me because most of the time I try finding shoujo mangas I end up with stories that involve high school kids.

I'm a die heart fan of demon romance but majority of the shoujo manga that explores supernatural beings involves a 1000 year old demon king falling in love with a 16 year old high school girl. This sickens me not only because of the age gap but one of the party is a freaking minor.

As an adult, I'm so happy the Ikemen Games doesn't involve younger characters or at least characters that are 'minor' as a romantic partner.

MC's ONLY JOB IS TO SIMPLYFY THE STORY

I have said this before, MCs are just props to simplify the story and characters to us because the writers think we're too dumb to understand what the character is saying. They're like Paimon so that we don't use our braincells to understand the characters better.

I wish they didn't do that and have MCs backstories that describes their personality. I mean, all the MCs want to 'prove' to the male leads that they wanna be 'strong' but I'm tired of this trope.

Why does MCs have to always be innocent and prove themselves? Why does she always want to 'understand' the male leads? Can't we...for once have a romance that doesn't involve MCs teaching male leads true love?

Also STOP give MCs odd jobs! Book stall employee...letter carrier? I mean who is happy and satisfied doing this? How about giving the high-paying jobs like Auditor or Businesswoman or Scientist or etc etc...I know Mai is a fashion designer and businesswoman and Mitsuki is a travel agent turned maid. Alice is a baker and Yoshino is a pharmacist. The only MCs that continues to follow the path of their dreams is Mai and Yoshino.

MATURE ROMANCE

I enjoy seeing two adults slowly fall in love.

There is something different about teenagers falling in love vs adults falling in love. The romance is more realistic. They don't talk about how they're gonna plan their future together or which college they're going to go instead their chat is much more deep and that's refreshing.

NO BAD ENDINGS

Happy endings are nice. Everyone deserves one! But when there are no bad endings, the story won't have stakes.....and when there are no stakes, I can't take any gunshot sounds, blank screen and MCs saying 'Is this the end?' seriously.

Just stop being cowards writers! Put some bad endings!!

FAIR SHARE OF ROMANCE

Although I have played my fair share of Maiden games, majority of them are not that romantic.

I love cute romance moments to lighten up the mood and I really need them. Ikemen games delivers that too well....way too well...

I do have some criticism for random steamy scenes, I don't mind as long as they have context and mood.

The story is not so story focused all the time and also has time for mischievous romance which I like! It helps in calming me down and enjoy at the same time.

BULLSHIT GACHA SYSTEM AND NON-EXISTING GRINDING SYSTEM (Not very F2P friendly)

Even though Genshin's gacha system is shit (you need mf 90 wishes to get a guaranteed 5 star and 180 wishes to get the limited 5 star you want!) I still think it's ways better than the gacha system of these Ikemen Games.

Yes I agree that both the games are different in genre, one is an open world anime rpg and other is a maiden game with gacha mechanics. But that doesn't mean that I have to always pay to buy limited gacha tickets!! At least genshin gives us an open world to explore and grind primos (even though its time consuming)

Yes they do give limited tickets when you enter an event or complete the mission board but that's only ONE TICKET and you need 50 LIMITED TICKETS to get your guaranteed limited 5 star card. On the other hand, they give out many standard tickets but what am I gonna do with it if they aren't gonna update the standard banner?

These games are NOT F2P friendly and if you wanna...like say, want rank no.1 in an event you'd have to save a lot of items.

Ofc I know about the subscription thing and you do indeed get a lot of items, but the most essential thing for me is limited gacha tickets and diamonds because I wanna collect as many beautiful cards as possible and you don't get them from these monthly subscriptions. It's a waste of $5 very month. I'd rather buy a nice hair care or skin care items from that.

INTERESTING SETTINGS

I have my criticism in some of their stories but I can't deny that I LOVEE their story settings. Their premise for each game is solid to the point it makes me wanna actually try it.

This is something I find very rare in 'shoujo' genre.

For example, I don't like Vampire themed games because they suck! (both figuratively and literally) but Ikemen Vampire interests me because they take real historical figures and makes them vampire, which is a really cool idea! You don't know but I'd die to get myself in situation like that because it would be an honor to meet some great historical figures, chat with them and make them lose all their brain cells just like me. I would die to meet especially Isaac Newton and grill him for making those torturous physics theories that gave me brain tumors in my school.

Very cool setting! I can't wait to see what's in store for us in the future!!!

EVENTS ARE INSANELY BORING

I've never enjoyed a single story event from Ikemen Villains. They are boring and makes me fall asleep immediately at chapter 1. I think that kinda spread to Ikemen Prince because I barely open Ikemen Prince app now.

I honestly don't find the stories of these events interesting at all. It always feels like 'I have seen this before' maybe in some other game or some other manga.

And the Collections events.....yeah, I hate them! I wish they never existed!!! They keep the fan-loved characters at the butt-end of the list where 90% of the players don't even make it unless they burn their whole month's salary. I know that's why they do these anniversary elections because I bet if Sariel was the most voted character, his story would have been the most expensive one to get.

VERY LIKEABLE MALE LEADS

This is a personal thing but I love charismatic male leads a lot! Male leads with a lot of suave and beauty! Yes I care about these things when I play gacha games okay! I play gacha games to look at hot guys (because I know I'm never gonna get one in real life!)

But I also love that the devs puts an effort to make them feel good too. So I wanna give a shoutout to them!!! 'KEEP GOING!!! JUST DON'T MAKE TRIGGERING MEN WHO SAYS 'I'LL KILL YOU'!!!

Random thoughts about what types of video games my characters would play if they existed in the modern era- Just a fun thing I randomly thought about...

Baatu would play games from time to time. He likely wouldn't be a huge "gamer" but he would enjoy his fair share and likely own one console. He'd play:

Gaia wouldn't be a big gamer at all. She would be very casual and only ever play in social situations like at a party, or to relieve herself of boredom if she is alone. She'd play:

Simulations (The Sims, Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley)

Yumi would play games pretty often, but she'd be more of a casual mobile gamer. She would be the type of person that would get invested in a game's art style more than anything. She'd play:

A Series of Substantial Updates

I know it’s been forever since I had a long list of accomplishments!! What has the world come to!

I should’ve updated this ages and ages ago, because this basically happened right after I got her but Mel has been Awakened!! I love her art so so much, and I’m so glad to have her on the team!

I want to get the twins doppeled up so slowly making my way through Magia levels. At least it gives me time for endless Side Story replaying! I hate Episode levels lmao

Speaking of which Evil Twin 2 Electric Boogaloo is also finally making her way up the ranks, good going Tsukasa! Considering I’m an actual floutist this has taken wayyy too long. I’ve failed my obnoxious elitist roots!

Also UwaTsuru finally!! Idk why it took me so long to awaken her considering she’s got one of the best designs in the entire game (don’t @ me), but better late than never? It’s prolly because I’m broke and have 0 patience at grinding and am also shit at mirrors... whoops

The Lively Roar of the Sea

Obtainability: Limited gacha for the “Rainbow Colored Summer” event. This is event bonus memoria and it should be kept in case of a rerun.

Single Effect: Damage Cut [25%] & MP Gain Up [10%]

MLB Effect: Damage Cut [30%] & MP Gain Up [12.5%]

Effect Definitions:

Damage Cut reduces the damage from incoming attacks onto the equipped character, and its effects are calculated after buffs/debuffs are considered. Damage Cut is generally better than Defense Up.

MP Gain Up will increase the MP gained from all sources, including Accele Discs, Charge Discs, damage taken by the equipped character, and when they activate an ability that gives them MP Restore or Regenerate MP.

TLDR: “The Lively Roar of the Sea” is an excellent whale-bait memoria that is specialized for a specific Mirrors Ranking strategy while still being useful in the game in other situations. It’s not necessary to roll for if you aren’t going to be using that specific Ranking strategy, but it’s also still a good memoria to have, as MP Gain Up memoria can be hard to aquire.

Review: “The Lively Roar of the Sea” is a good memoria that combines an excellent defensive buff with the perfect MP-building effect. It’s probably the best memoria to use for Magia-tanks in Mirrors Ranking right now. Let’s explore why.

Almost all MP Gain Up memoria are good memoria. This is because MP Gain Up can be hard to find for either actives or passives (Accele MP Gain Up is much easier to acquire), and because MP Gain Up will apply to all sources of potential MP (except for Blast MP Gain Up for some reason). This includes using Accele discs, Charge discs, Regenerate MP, and more importantly for this memoria: getting hit by an attack. 

That’s not to say that this memoria is better than other memoria when it comes to building up MP. A memoria like “The Rena I Hate” has 10% MP Gain Up and 17.5% Accele MP Gain Up for comparison, and much better MP-building capability if the character uses Accele discs. However, what makes “The Lively Roar of the Sea” so useful is that the MP Gain Up effect is crucial for strategies using characters with the following effect in their Spirit Enhancement: MP Up When Damaged.

On a character like Sudachi Sawa, equipping this memoria means that she can get to Magia/Doppel by turn two in Mirrors Ranking without ever using a single disc-- she just needs to take every hit from the enemy. You can ensure this by either using her turn one Provoke or alternatively, by keeping her DEF lower than her teammates. This is because Mirrors AI will prioritize attacking the character with the lowest DEF first.

Of course, keeping a character’s DEF low seems like a bad idea if they’re going to be tanking every enemy attack. That’s where the Damage Cut on this memoria comes in. The Mirrors AI does not consider Damage Cut when it weighs the DEF of each character, so you can stack as much Damage Cut on your Sudachi as you want without making her DEF higher, thereby protecting her and making her an appealing target for the AI to target first. Additionally, Damage Cut is a more effective buff than Defense Up, so that makes this memoria extra beefy when it comes to protecting your character.

This is notable because you can compare “The Lively Roar of the Sea” to another limited summer memoria in the game:

(Limited 4*) “Beyond the Waves” MP Gain Up [10%] & Damage Cut [25%] & Defense Up [30%]

“Beyond the Waves” has less MP Gain Up, less Damage Cut (by 5%) and it includes Defense Up (an effect which will contribute to a character’s DEF). To be perfectly clear, “Beyond the Waves” is not a bad memoria by any means-- in some ways it’s more defensive than “The Lively Roar of the Sea” is, because the 30% Defense Up outweighs the -5% Damage Cut. If you already have a max-awakened copy of “Beyond the Waves,” you don’t need to get a max-awakened copy of “The Lively Roar of the Sea” unless you’re a hyper-whale.

It’s just that “Beyond the Waves” is not as perfect as “The Lively Roar of the Sea” for a specific strategy using specific characters in Mirrors Ranking.

However, that doesn’t mean that “The Lively Roar of the Sea” is too specialized to use elsewhere. It might not have any offensive buffs, but it does have excellent passive ATK stats and a max-awakened copy of this memoria will be better to use than the unlimited three-star memoria “It's Not Like I Was Waiting.” And like I said at the beginning of this review, passive MP Gain Up memoria can be hard to find.

Overall this is a very good memoria that is both specialized for a specific part of the game while also still useful for more generic play. 

Characters like Sudachi Sawa, Perenelle Flamel, and Sayaka Miki (Surfing ver.) will all benefit from using “The Lively Roar of the Sea” if you’re intending them to tank hits and use Magia/Doppels. However, it will also be useful on anyone who benefits from the effect MP Gain Up-- this includes characters with the effect Regenerate MP, such as Kuroe (Swimsuit ver.), Isabeau, Final Oriko, and/or Madoka & Iroha.
