Crystal Clan Part 10!

This only covers half a year. I might switch to just posting every half year or half season since they are getting longer and longer.

11th Newleaf

Drizzlepaw proves to be something of a prodegy. She's a gifted hunter and takes to her warrior training immediately. Within a little over a moon Stonewhisker recommends that she be made a full warrior. Thornstar is rather hesitant, given her young age, and short time officially training as a warrior, but when she manages to bring a fawn that she killed herself back to camp. He has to agree. She's named Drizzlepounce. Emberpaw, whom she's pretty close with, and younger than, is a little jealous, but also doesn't want to let it ruin their friendship, and just puts more effort into training.

Emberpaw also stops, and gets the others to stop leaving Mintpaw out of things.

Goosetooth dies of whitecough. Goldcreek is especially distraught, though all the medicine cats are upset. Even Orange, who's normally rather aloof, seems a bit shaken. Goldcreek chooses to blame Orange, though it's really more of a reflection of his distrust and hatred for the other medicine cat. They have a pretty public argument, which results in Rosypelt stepping in to mediate things. She does her best. Orange reveals that Gosetooth had known hi was bound to die soon, which is partily why he'd confessed to Goldcreek. Goldcreek is still very upset, but blames Orange a little bit less, and does believe him on the one particular thing.

Sweetbite, taking to the mediator role about as well as his sister took to being a warrior, is welcomed as a fully fledged mediator. He's far more willing to talk with other clans than any of his fellow mediators, making him an invaluable asset.

Snapheavy is finally made a warrior. Dusktooth proved to be a methodical teacher, and Snappaw stays and apprentice longer than most. But by the time he passes his final assessment he's shown he's a compassionate and capable teacher. Especially with younger cats, leading to him getting assigned Hoppaw soon after his warrior ceremony.

Hoppaw's brother, Marigoldpaw worries his way into being Spottedmint's apprentice. Not wanting to take part in any battles or killing. After Goosetooth's death Spottedmint decides to stay out of retirement until Marigoldpaw is trained.

Martenshine and Tulipnose welcome Stoatkit and Echokit into the world. Soon after Dusktooth and Carpleg welcome Hornetkit, Flutterkit, Mosskit and Mitekit into the nursery.

Unfortunately, a massive colony of wasps has taken up residence in the clan cavern. Hoppaw, curious and not trained on how to deal with such a threat, prodds the nest a little too hard and unleashes the wasp's wraith. Many cats are stung, but some of the youngest, Conekit, Stoatkit, Mosskit, and Mitekit die from the poison. Hoppaw feels absolutly dreadful about this, and falls into a dispare spiral. It's not helped by the fact that, while the clan was trying to hide from and deal with the wasps, Marigoldpaw was separated and attacked by a dog, sustaining some awful tail injuries.

One morning, not long after the wasp attacks, Orange sees Tangle in his dreams, the other cat fading away. He'd once considered Tangle his best friend, the only cat that he thought might have actually understood him. But he'd shunned Orange for the sake of furthering his own power and influence. And now, Tangle has died, apparently killed by someone else if the wounds on his ghost are anything to go by. Orange wanted to be the one to kill him, or to prove that he was good enough to keep around, maybe by taking over a clan and killing Tangle. It's a bit much. Orange gathers up Jumbleclaw, Ripplestripe, and Chasingegg. And tells them. Ripplestripe is similarly upset she wasn't the one to dish out vengeance. Jumbleclaw and Chasingegg are mostly relieved. Chasingegg wants to take Emberpaw back to their old clan. She does ask Emberpaw about this idea, who is extremely distraught at the idea of leaving her friends and the place she's grown up in. Chasingegg insists that they at least pay a visit, even if they decide to return to CrystalClan, she wants Emberpaw to have an oportunity to see the clan she was born in. And also hopes that she can convince her to stay there.

They do go on a journey to try to find their old clan, Jumbleclaw going along as well, he and Emberpaw get along mostly fine, though Chasingegg is still resentful towards him. Though he saves Emberpaw from a rushing river, and she respects him a little more after that. When they reach the territory of their old clan, Chasingegg can immediatly tell something is wrong. The camp seems to have been somewhat recently abandoned, save for the bodies of many of their former clanmates. Chasingegg is extreamly distraught, and the other two carry out a somber burial and vigil. Emberpaw does find a surviving kit however. They name her Wingkit and decide to return to CrystalClan with her. She's taken in by Lightstrike and Badgerclaw. Jumbleclaw tells Ripplestrip and Orange, theorizing that the cats must have been killed in some kind of conflict with Tangle, and the rest of them ran away. Though they really have no idea, and there was also no sign of Tangle, or several of the other rouge's bodies. Wingkit doesn't have much in the way of coherent information, and seems pretty traumatized by what ever happened.

A former kittypet, turned loner named Shimmermane invites himself to stay with the clan. Many are divided, the medicine cats are pressed as it is, and taking in any outsiders now feels like a bad idea. But many feel it goes against the spirit of the clan to be unwelcoming to outsiders, and also enjoy Shimmermane's stories and fun-loving attitude.

Ripplestripe announces she's having kits. She and Orange never made their relationship public, but many have guessed. Goldcreek is filled with rage and jelousy, given that his mate just died so soon after realizing their feelings. It just adds to the pile of Things Goldcreek Hates About Orange.

Egretwing announces that she and Fringepelt are expecting kits. Vineshell, her sister and best friend is really happy for her!

Fishfalcon is full of pride as Emberpaw is named Emberdawn. She's grown into an observant and compassionate cat, but is still full of fire.

11th Greenleaf

Jumpeyes and Vineshell become mates! They love to talk about StarClan and stuff together.

Glowberry is also now awaiting a second litter. Jeeze Hoppaw and Marigoldpaw are still young apprentices, it hasn't even been a year!

Basspaw is very excited to be an apprentice, her mentor, Jumbleclaw is happy to have an excuse to get away from Orange. And is fully prepared to act like he Doesn't Have Any Weird Abilities.

Honeypaw's ready for adventure and excitement as an apprentice, and is very happy to have a cat as respected and experienced as Cricketspeck for a mentor.

Shrewpaw is an uncommonly patient young cat, very different from his sister, Honeypaw. His patience is sure to be honed under the strange and often obtuse Pinefreckle.

Peatpaw was pretty upset that Drizzelpounce got made a warrior early and after only training as one for a moon. And then is upset when Emberheart becomes a warrior, and also seems to prefer talking to Drizzelpounce and her stupid sister Mintpaw over her. When they used to be best friends. She's also not particularly thrilled with Hoppaw always being such a downer, she feels sad all the time too! but she doesn't whine about it constantly. She starts a pretty one-sided fight with him, and also gets the newest other apprentices involved. Pansypetal is not pleased but doesn't do much about it.

Basilkit and Brackenkit are born to Egretwing and Fringepelt, the two of them happy as can be.

Lightstrike and Badgerclaw also announce they are expeciting a second litter. Guys, it's been like 6 months....

The newly named Mintfoot has done well under Forestpool, despite some difficulties with her denmates. Becoming very faithful to StarClan as a comfort during the times when she felt alone. She becomes a fantastic hunter and is the pride of her mother Lightpelt. It might as well be the worst day of Peatpaw's life though. She barely even bothers to hide how mad and jealous she is. And takes it out on poor Hoppaw. For once he snaps back, and the two have a little verbal tiff that almost feels enjoyable.

Silkkit is the only kit born to Orange and Ripplestripe.

Marigoldpaw's tail heals enough for him to really start his training. It's been a long road, but he gained a lot of perspective and appriciation for the role he's training for. He and Hoppaw don't get along as well as they did when they were kits. Marigoldpaw has tried to do what he can to ease his brother's guilt over the hornet and dog incident, but he also had to focus on recovering up til now. He's hopeful he can do something, or receive some kind of guidance from StarClan to help his brother.

Spiderkit is the only kit of Glowberry and Pansypetal's second litter. Though she's pretty close in age to Marigoldpaw and Hoppaw. She's a bit too curious and as soon as she can walk she wanders off and gets scraped up on the sharp rocks. Both her brothers become pretty over protective after that.

Emberdawn is given Wingpaw as an apprentice. That morning Wingpaw had had a strange dream of the place she was born. Of an odd cat with extra long claws and a scar across their chest killing everyone.

Peatpaw probably would have combusted from jelousy if she weren't finally made a warrior right after, gaining the name Peathawk.

Shrewpaw gets his eyes dammaged after mistaking a hare for a rabbit.

Thornstar gets heat stroke. And Lightpelt takes over running the clan for a bit, even guiding everyone to a gathering. She does a good job, Thornstar is very very proud. even Ridgetalon begrudgingly gives her some praise.

On her first real border patrol Wingpaw is very ferocious towards a trespassing rouge. Emberheart is a little concerned, but also impressed by Wingpaw's speed, and fighting ability. This cat is later found by Lightpelt's patrol, suffering quite a bit from her injuries. She was actually quite impressed by the small, but speedy Wingpaw, and asks if she can join the clan to learn to fight that good. Lightpelt agrees, and they welcome Seven into the clan.

Seven is cute, she has a little heart.

Mitebreeze is a snarky she-cat, who has short fur and gladly bullies and threatens cats she dislikes or considers beneath her in some way. And when she's scaring or threatening her victims and anticipating their fear, she chuckles. Mitebreeze takes great pride in being yarrowthorn’s right-hand warrior and hangs around her often; she’s willing to complete whatever tasks needed of her, on Matter if they’re cruel and unsavoury, if it means she stays in her good graces. Mitebreeze is a smug smiler and She's prone to doing this, especially when she receives praise from yarrowthorn. With yarrowthorn Both of them torment any unfortunate cat or creature in their path, and mitebrezze practically attached to the other’s hip.

Moon 302-Greenleaf

It is proving to be a hot greenleaf.  Embershell (22) has gotten heat exhaustion (maybe from playing with fire during the hot season), and both Lakepelt (112) and Creekstar (158) have gotten heat stroke.  Despite being sick, Creekstar checks in with Bluestripe’s (79) kits to make sure they’re doing alright.  Dapplekit (1) especially.  She’s just so quiet.  She’s doing fine.  She just prefers to watch stuff rather than get involved.  Downgaze (85) is a little uncomfortable with Pebbletuft (37) as the working healer who’s been in the Clan the longest.  He just doesn’t like the way she acts.  Greenrapid (60) feels like Echoarch (22) has been getting a lot of attention lately and is annoyed with him.  She rants about him to Cherviljumble (109).  Tanglechirp (51) is trying to spend time with his kits, but Aphidkit (1) keeps telling him to speak up.  She thinks it’s funny.  He does not.  Sweet Marmalade (89) spends some time with his grandkits this moon.  Boulderflood (20) has a nice time talking with him and Burdockbeam (20) gently teases him about a feather she stuck to his face.  Mitekit (5) needs a break from Hollowkit (5) this moon (she’s finally tired of getting caught up in his games) and plays with Cherviljumble, who theatrically dies after Mitekit ‘slays’ her.  She’s excited to become an apprentice.  Hollowkit plays with Sweet Marmalade instead and he has to pretend to be a captured warrior of FurledClan.  Seeing all the kits in the nursery is making Bluestripe a bit nostalgic for her childhood, with all of her sisters.  She misses them.

The first thing Kestrelcreek  (91) does after Lakepelt (110) declares her healthy enough to go back to working is get in a fight with a rogue.  Alright then.  Instead of being frustrated with the pranskter Burdockbeam (18), Creekstar (156) is annoyed with how Boulderflood (18) won’t take her role as a star-blessed cat seriously.  She should be stepping up into more leadership roles, but is instead holding back and letting other cats take the lead.  Perhaps Creekstar likes the pranksters, because she is pranking the new guy, Bumble (79).  It’s kind of like an official welcome to the Clan.  Brightmouse (77) not only dislikes Skymoon (14), but also Petalfrost (14) and is annoyed by the young cat’s negative comments.  Bluestripe (77) asks him what’s wrong and why he’s been commenting about Brightmouse.  He explains that he’s frustrated with how she treats his sister, something that Bluestripe understands.  She doesn’t like it when cats dislike her family, after all.  While on a patrol, Pebbletuft (35) and Hatchswipe (47) are heard arguing about the camp’s security.  A FurledClan patrol listens in.  Meanwhile, Croucheye (13) has somehow gotten tangled up in watching Hollowkit (3) for the day.  He played a prank on Tanglechirp (49) and is now not allowed to leave the nursery.  It’s hard to keep him in there, especially when Mitekit (3) purposefully acts frightened after Croucheye tells a story in order to take her attention off of Hollowkit.  Those two are certainly a pair!  While on a patrol, Sweet Marmalade (87), Boulderflood, and Sofanthiel (91) come across an apprentice from FurledClan, begging for shelter.  Sofanthiel determines that they must be a spy and sends them off with a couple scratches.  Border skirmishes with StumpyClan also continue.  Some cats worry there may be another war coming.

Moon 301-Newleaf

Crouchpaw (12) has been made a warrior!  She is now named Croucheye in honor of her composure.  She still hasn’t told Creekstar (155) about her visions though.  She’s just not sure that’s what they are, either.  The Clan will also likely continue to grow.  Bluestripe (76) has announced that she is expecting kits.  Tanglechirp (48) is excited to be a dad.  Mostly so that he can do more moral preaching to his kits this time!  Lakepelt (109), knowing that Kestrelcreek (90) had a rough time after kitting last time, makes sure to check in on her.  Kestrelcreek appreciates it and is doing well.  Mitekit (2) has discovered that a great way for her to get attention is to help out around camp.  It makes everyone praise her, including Nettlestripe (70).  Sweet Marmalade (86) has decided to make an effort to make sure that the young cats all feel like an important part of the Clan.  He’s always happy to stop and chat with Petalfrost (13) and pays attention to how hard Peatfeather (13) is working to contribute to the Clan without powers or parents.  Hatchswipe (46) has taken more of a background role in the Clan, lately, but she is still well-liked.  She trusts Pebbletuft (34) with her insecurities over her twisted leg and how it impacts her ability to help out in the Clan, and she spends some time playing with the kits.  She also knows that Brightmouse (76) had a hard time with love, similar to how her and Treepelt did, and seeing her have kits gives her hope that she will find someone, again.  Cats seem to have a habit of trying to sneak Kestrelcreek’s latest litter out of camp, because Aries (67) really wants to take Hollowkit (2) to explore twolegplace. Hollowkit’s been asking and is just so cute!  Why should she resist?  Creekstar has decided to tell the Clan the truth about what happened to Auburnpaw.  Bluestripe listens intently and wonders if any of her kits will be dark-cursed.  She hopes that none of them have to go through what Echomoor and Auburnpaw did.  The Clan also welcomes a much-needed healer to the Clan, a former loner named Bumble (78).  He is also troublesome, which is exactly what the Clan needs right now.

Moon 300-Newleaf

Petalpaw (12) has been made a warrior with the name of Petalfrost in honor of his observance.  Lately, the Clan has been having some tensions with StumpyClan over recent hunting disputes.  Aries (66) goes to them to try and resolve them but doesn’t make any progress.  Being a mediator is harder than it looks.  With Almondback (71) to watch their kits, Brightmouse (75) and Kestrelcreek (89) go on a nice moonlit stroll.  Back at camp, Mitekit (1) has grown to be very demanding of attention.  She wants all the young warriors to pay attention to her all the time. She even convinces Dawnfreckle (84) to sneak her out of camp, shielding her with a coat of darkness.  The two groups are a little shocked to run into each other.  Even though they’re mates with the same cat, Brightmouse and Almondback don’t get along very well and disagree with each other about certain things.  Including how they feel about a certain cat.  Brightmouse is annoyed by Skymoon (12) and ignores her.  Meanwhile, Almondback makes a point to spend some time with the young warrior.  Despite being a warrior, Burdockbeam (16) makes sure to still learn.  She picks up a helpful skill from Greenrapid (56) about how to form small spikes of ice on her pelt so that attackers slice their paws on it.  And hanging out with the senior warriors gives her a chance to stick a thorn in Brightmouse’s bedding as a prank.  Brightmouse is determined to find out who the culprit is and prank them back. She decides that it must have been Copperheart (16) and scares her on a patrol. Aries appreciates Hopcurl’s (18) help in mediating issues between their clanmates while she has to deal with interclan issues.  It’s nice to be able to have someone to rely on.  Hollowkit (1), is paying close attention to how Pebbletuft (33) cares for her patients.  Creekstar (154) is feeling more spry than she has in moons and plays a prank on her deputy, letting Dawnfreckle oversleep.  It’s nice for Downgaze (81) to see his mom feeling better.  Tanglechirp (47) is excited to have a niece and nephew.  He spends so long telling them about morals that they fall asleep.  Crouchpaw (11)  continues to have visions.  Alderflight (56) finally figures out that that’s what her dreams are.  It’s unusual and he’s not sure what to do.  He’ll try asking Downgaze.

Moon 299-Leaf-bare

Kestrelcreek (88), Brightfalcon (74), and Almondback (70) have had their kits!  The first is the daring Mitekit (0), who’s powerless, and the second is the troublesome water-blessed Hollowkit (0).  What is it with this Clan and troublesome cats?!  However, soon afterwards, a tragedy strikes the family.  Rimepaw (10) is playing with her siblings when a snake comes out of nowhere.  She protects the newborns, but is bitten and succumbs to the venom.  Kestrelcreek and Almondback mourn the loss of yet another kit from their first litter.  Crouchpaw (10) can hardly believe that both of her sisters are gone.  They were always the rambunctious ones, the brave ones.  How is it that she is the one that survived while they died?  It doesn’t make any sense.  However, in a bit of good news, Peatpaw (11) has been made a warrior.  She is given the name of Peatfeather in honor of her honor (hah).  Skymoon (11) is, as per usual, feeling annoyed with the Clan.  She hisses at Tanglechirp (46) when he steps on her paw.  Why does no one in this Clan respect her, or her littermates?!  Said littermates have actually started to fit into the Clan.  Peatfeather appreciates how willing Almondback is to work and Petalpaw (11) sees Tanglechirp doing his best to bring back a lot of prey during leaf-bare.  Additionally, while on patrol together, Cherviljumble (104) and Petalpaw manage to drive off a group of rogues!  Very impressive for two powerless cats. Creekstar (153) knows that Alderflight (55) is interested in her son and spends some time around him.  She supposes that he’s nice enough.  Downgaze (80) is annoyed with his mom for being so invested in his life and complains about her.  Lakepelt (107) wishes that Embershell (17) would be more helpful around camp.  She complains about her as she shares prey with Longpelt (13).  Echoarch (17) is feeling lighter now that he’s gotten his namesake off his pelt.  And he has an admirer.  Longpelt has just noticed how beautiful his eyes are.
