Cas spends most of the time talking to the actual literal dragons before anyone realizes what's going on, so jot that down, and Sam and Dean are like FUCK it's a DRAGON DRAGON not like a person dragon what the fuck what the FUCK

i don't think Cas has to. mentally go through a translation process. he's never struggling to find the right word because Angel.

but sometimes he doesn't understand that something is an expression so he'll translate it really literally, or he won't know how to convey something is an expression so Dany is just like WHAT

he somehow comes up with gestures or exaggerated expressions, basically the irl version of emojis, to denote tone when they have the third mix up that winds up with weapons drawn

Dean hits on Dany at some point and Dany just hits him

Sam's book nerding eventually finds them a common language.

a/n: Welp, here it is.  Hope you guys like!  The moodboard has a tiny teaser as to what Jon actually does, which we find out at the end of the fic.  These two were fun to write-- sexy, silly, and of course soon to be hopelessly in love. Enjoy!

This was better than therapy, she thought, her muscles aching, sweat dripping down her neck and flushing her face. Silver braids fell out of the knotted tangle she'd had them in when she'd entered, and her chest strained, lungs desperate as she tried to breathe between each move. Inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale.

She opened her fist, using her palm to smack at the bag, like Davos had shown her when she'd clearly mastered the actual punch. It had been too annoying with the gloves. "Be careful," he warned, when she shook out a particularly stinging smack. He was dead serious, no longer smiling. "Don’t need you breaking a hand."

"I don't think she can, that bag is going to break from her." The girl with the brown hair from the mat had come to see what was going on. She cocked her head, chuckling. "Maybe you might like to learn Faceless."

"No thanks," Dany huffed, still focused on the punching bag. She kicked it hard, using the top of her foot, toes pointed expertly, her flame red toenail polish flashing against the black material. "This is better."

Missandei exchanged money with Grey out of the corner of her eye; she'd have to find out what that was about, but Grey seemed annoyed like he'd lost something, Missandei smug. Dany eventually paused, stilling the bag after a vicious hit, looking over at Davos, smiling wide. "Now what?"

Davos arched his brows. "What do you mean lass? This is your first session."

"I want to start sparring."

"No way," Missandei laughed. She eyed her, worried. "Dany, I don't want you getting hurt."

"I won't." She liked this. It was fun. Now she wanted to see what she could do against someone else.

Davos agreed. "Not yet lass. You keep coming back, learning the basics, we'll talk about getting you in a ring. Need to work on technique." He kissed his teeth. "How about Saturday?"

"Sounds good."

There was a soft chuckle from above. They all glanced up; startled, Dany saw the man from before. He had on workout sweats over his shorts, his body now hidden behind black material and hair wet from a shower. A gym bag slung crosswise over him. He also had on thick black round glasses.

Nerd, Dany kind of wanted to say, but she squirmed slightly. They were pretty hot actually on this guy. "What?" she snapped.

He shrugged. "She'll be in the ring soon Davos."

"We'll see lad, we'll see."

The girl who had wanted to teach her the Faceless techniques pouted. "Well fine. NO one wants to learn Faceless."

"NO one wants to get the shit kicked out of them every day love," the big man with the buzzcut said to the tiny thing. He smiled warmly at her. "Gendry Waters, this is my place. Glad you like it. See you Saturday."

Dany eyed Missandei, who had wandered back over to her. She undid her wraps, as everyone dispersed, grinning. "Well?"

"Well what?"

"You coming back Saturday?"

Dany watched the hot guy with the best ass she'd ever seen walking out of the gym, accompanied by the tiny girl, the two of them talking and laughing together. She nodded, murmuring. "Fuck yes."

She needed to see that man again.

Original Final Season 7 - Episode 6: Summerhall

Last Episode was a bit of a cliffhanger so here’s the fallout from The Storm:

*Wish I had a better image for the episode, but this is the only artwork for Summerhall I could find! Hmm, this needs remedying. 

It’s finally snowing in King’s Landing in this episode, appropriate for us to finally see snow in the south right after the Night King has broken through the Wall

IN WINTERFELL

Picking up directly where the last episode left off, Bran tells Sansa they need to get word to all the Northern Houses, everyone has to get to White Harbor, there will be ships waiting for them there (no explanation), no time to wait for Targaryen armies to come, they can’t hold the North that long

Bran also mysteriously tells Sansa they need to send a raven to Summerhall - Sansa mentions its an abandoned ruin, a raven could never get there, Bran says he can warg the bird, Sansa just needs to write that the Wall has fallen and the dead come south

AT SUMMERHALL

Team Jon/Dany arrive on dragon-back (this was Jorah’s suggested location) and make camp in the ruined halls (it’s abandoned, no one - enemies - would find them there)

Sitting around the fire, Jorah tells them all what he knows of Rhaegar and how Rhaegar used to love coming there, the tragedy at Summerhall when Rhaegar was born, etc.

In their explorations of the ruins, they come across one part of the castle that isn’t entirely destroyed - the library - and Jorah mentions Rhaegar used to be quite scholarly until, according to rumor, he read something in his scrolls that made him believe he had to be a warrior (like Barristan’s story to Dany in ASOS)

Missandei begins picking through the books, some disintegrate when she picks them up due to age/damage from the elements, but some do not, she takes a few that are not damaged

While plotting their next move (where should they go, The Reach? Dorne? King’s Landing?) they receive a random, hastily written raven’s scroll from Sansa and Bran - The Wall has fallen, the dead march south.

They send the raven/Bran to Davos and Tyrion at Gendry’s shop in King’s Landing telling them about the attack on Dragonstone and that they will meet them there in the capital

After the raven leaves, Jon, panicked, insists he and Dany fly to Winterfell to rescue his family/make sure they make it to safety and Dany reluctantly agrees

IN OLDTOWN

They receive word from Winterfell, the Wall has fallen, encourage maesters to spread the word to the rest of the Kingdoms so they can prepare for the fight, the maesters are old shits about it, debating the validity of the scroll, etc.

Sam, in frustration, finally leaves the Citadel with Gilly and Little Sam

BACK IN THE NORTH

Everyone is rushing to pack and leave, Sansa is incredibly emotional about leaving Winterfell when they’ve just fought to get it back, Bran finally tells her the ships that are waiting for them at White Harbor are Greyjoy ships and Theon is anxious to see her, Sansa is then less reluctant to leave

Team Stark/the North arrive at White Harbor just as Yara and Theon do, Bran and Sansa quickly explain the circumstances - the Wall has fallen, not enough time to get Dany’s armies North, North must flee south on the Greyjoy ships (we see Howland and Meera in this group somewhere among other prominent Northerners like Lyanna Mormont, Lord Umber, etc.)

Yara begins to plot course for Dragonstone but Bran explains Euron has taken it, most of his fleet is destroyed but he and his men still occupy the castle, Yara then wants to make course for the Iron Islands to take her home back and it’s “Somewhere the dead can’t go” but again, Bran advises against it, he tells them to set a course for King’s Landing - it’s where EVERYONE is headed and will meet up

Theon and Sansa reunite (obviously), Sansa is stressed about going to King’s Landing where Cersei is and where she was held captive for years, Theon comforts her and sparks fly, they end up falling into bed together - AKA Theonsa boatsex

IN KING’S LANDING

Cersei gets word from Euron about the attack on Dragonstone, pissed that it was a relative failure, she wanted all of them dead and nearly everyone, save a few nameless soldiers, survived, she then tasks Jaime with finding Tyrion and killing him, “Bring me our brother’s head” (much like Aerys wanting Jaime to bring him Tywin’s head) and this is Jaime’s last straw, he can’t support her anymore and so he leaves her

In getting ready to flee King’s Landing, Jaime runs into Tyrion, Davos, and Gendry, Jaime explains that Dragonstone has been taken so they can’t go there, instead, they regroup at Gendry’s shop to figure out what they should do next, receive Bran/Jon’s raven about heading to King’s Landing, it’s decided, they stay in the city

After Jaime leaves her, Cersei wakes up in a “bed of blood,” she's miscarried her baby

The Riverlands, Northerners, and Vale forces arrive outside King’s Landing and join up with the forces from Dorne and the Reach/the Dothraki and Unsullied, Baelish and Varys are there to greet them

Baelish and Varys impress upon the troops the importance of the alliance between Jon and Dany, they are there for one purpose and one purpose only - to defeat the Lannisters who have had a hand in harming every single one of them in the last several years, it’s finally time to take the Lannisters down

Baelish and Varys are next seen sneaking into the city in order to meet with...Qyburn

Arya, knowing how to sneak in and out of King’s Landing secretly, gets into the city as well and goes where Bran told her to go - she winds up standing just outside...Gendry’s shop

BACK IN THE NORTH 

In an unidentifiable location, Jon and Dany take a flying break at a waterfall and discuss what to do, from what Dany can tell on their flight, the North is deserted, Jon agrees and concludes the Northerners must have fled south or to White Harbor

Seeing Jon in a better mood, Dany quips they could “stay a thousand years” and no one would find them, not even this “Night King”

She mentions that, because they’ve been flying a very long distance and it’s getting dark, they need to make camp somewhere for the night, give themselves and the dragons a rest

Jon reveals Winterfell isn’t far, it’s likely deserted but they can stay for the night before heading back south to King’s Landing

IN WINTERFELL 

Jon “cloaks” Dany as she has no suitable clothing (it was all left on Dragonstone when they abandoned the castle to Euron), it’s visually symbolic but nothing official

When Dany asks why Jon went back into the castle (Dragonstone) when they were attempting to flee Euron’s forces, he finally explains to her about R+L=J and gives her Rhaegar’s harp

There’s a tense moment between them until Jon finally suggests they marry to join the realm (King of the North, Queen of the South) and their claims, Dany asks if it would be a political marriage or because of something more (as she has started to fall for him), Jon says it would be both, he and Dany end up sleeping together, AKA Jonerys castlesex

Jon and Dany wake up to it still being night and both remark that it feels late and should be morning, though it’s not, upon going outside they see in the distance the AOTD approaching Winterfell, the Night King did, in fact, find them

It should be relatively easy for them to escape with the AOTD in the distance but the Night King raises the dead from the Winterfell crypts and Jon and Dany have to fight their way out of the keep

In the confusion of trying to escape, Viserion is killed

After Jon and Dany have fled south on Drogon and Rhaegal, the Night King finally raises Viserion as his mount

Title is obviously for Team Jon/Dany making camp in the ruined castle of Summerhall for the night.

Episode 6 Inside the Episode: Summerhall

1) First off, I know you guys are going to wonder, why Summerhall?

I know it’s an odd initial choice. It’s never (I don’t think) been mentioned on the show. But, for the purposes of this episode, it’s a great way to a) get out some much needed exposition and b) connect Rhaegar to the PTWP prophecy. And yes, for book nerds, I know Rhaegar would have been younger when he began training as a warrior, too young to have begun visiting Summerhall by himself, and therefore the book or scroll that led him to think he needed to be a warrior wouldn’t have been found at Summerhall. But 1) allow this one time suspension of disbelief or 2) headcanon that Rhaegar left the book/scroll containing this information at Summerhall for Missandei to eventually find. Whichever works for you.

2) The North escaping on the Greyjoy ships?

This one is too obvious. We had all thought this might need to happen. In 8x01 Yara even tells Theon they’ll need “somewhere the dead can’t go,” but NOTHING was ever done with this line. It was pointless. So this scene actually pays off Yara’s useless line from canon and also solves the issue from it - why wouldn’t Dany just retreat to her own island of Dragonstone? (Because she can’t, because Euron took it over, because that fucking makes sense that he and Cersei would do that).

3) Jon/Dany wake up and it is still night?

Yes, because the “Long Night” is actually not just one fucking night. I can’t even believe they had the audacity to call that idiotic episode “The Long Night” when it was, actually, just ONE night. *Sighs* *Rubs head*

I got time today....

So….

I normally don’t do Metas or anything of this type of thing. I’m more of the reblog, make snarky comments in the hashtags, occasional personal post and keep it moving.

However after the start of Season 8, specifically episode three and four and a two-hour conversation I had last night after episode four and a few side way comments that have come out of some peoples mouths that prompted me to speak my mind on this. So let me drop some knowledge on you. 

A majority of the fans in the GoT fandom are feeling some type of way today. Whether it be ‘WTF is going on with the Starks”, the assignation of strong female characters, character arcs getting butchered but another small niche of the fandom is silently screaming but yet isn’t surprised by the ending last night and that’s the PoC in the fandom.

Now I’m a black women…which is seen as an oddity because of the stereotype that black people can’t be geek/nerds and/or into fandoms…I’m sorry to tell you this but we are. Hell Martin Luther King Jr himself was a fan of Star Trek but I digress….

A trope that is a joke upon in the black culture and is that any persons of color character ain’t making it to the end. This is in anything from books, tv shows, movies etc. Unless it was written, directed by a PoC (ie Jordan Peele)  we know going in that the possibility of us surviving is slim….However, in the fantasy genre for whatever damn reason we have hope. I say this because in the fantasy genre you can push the norms, be different. You have goblins, trolls, elves fucking dragons so our chances of survival and our hope increase when it comes to the fantasy genre. Unfortunately, after the last two episodes, at least my hope and my mutuals hope for potential changed all but got shitted on.  

You have a character, Missandei that was freed from slavery by Daenerys, was her closest advisor and supported her along the way. Missandei stated that she followed Daenerys because she was the queen she chose to follow. period. To watch this relationship grow and blossom into probably one of the purest relationships where Missandei faced the xenophobic north, stood up for her queen and remained there without batting a fucking eye;  to have it end with her being captured, placed in chains to be murdered is a fucking smack in the face not only for the character but to fans as well. Especially the women and PoC fans.  This is degrading as fuck but the shitty part in all the conversations I’ve had today is the same thing kept getting repeated. 

“Well I’m not surprised, look at how they treat women of color and women in general?”

I mean what the fuck was I thinking that a fantasy show would be any different? 

Even after last week when the Dothraki and the Unsullied were pretty much used as cannon fodder for the battle of Winterfell, where they were looked down upon because they were “foreigners” and they were all but taken out, here we have it just an episode later that another person of color being killed for the purpose of promoting a story that doesn’t even fucking fit the initial narrative!!!! 

Sidenote: I really really don’t want to hear the white savior complex because yes that is a trope too but that’s a whole other issue that I don’t have the patience to address today. I’m not going into Mad Dany either. 

Overall it’s just fucking exhausting that as a fan of this series and any series that this trope would still be used and I really don’t care about “Why are you surprised?” because I was hoping that writers could do better and think outside the box. Again it’s the fantasy genre, this is pretty much a requirement and you’re allowed creative license.

At this point, Grey is going to turn the stereotypical angry black man killing everyone out of revenge and just promoting the stereotype of “foreigners = bad/evil” in Westeros.  I mean this is a fucking trope that was used by the movie “A birth of a nation” for fuck sakes and if you know your cinema history you know the controversy around that. …Its exhausting and stupid and the trope needs to be done with.

Again, I’m fucking exhausted and I had hoped that as fantasy writers they would think outside the box…but nope…same shit different day. I’m not surprised tho considering that D&D were going to write the controversial “Confederate” for HBO. A fucking show in an alternate timeline where the southern states successfully seceded from the union where slavery is still legal…

You don’t need to write a show about this…just be a person of color in America TODAY to see modern institutionalization…fuck just turn on the got damn news for fuck sake.

So at this point…I’m done. I had hoped for better and I didn’t get it. This post was not to call out or defend certain aspects of Westeros. This is just to point out a fact that as a black woman and any other person of color this shit is exhausting and it needs to change…..period.

My thoughts on Game of Thrones 8x02 (grab a glass of wine because it’s a fucking ride and a half)

Let me be very clear that this episode brought about a slight meltdown for me. The little moments these characters had with one another broke me in half, and next week, I’ll be dead entirely. Resurrect me only to watch these episodes because life will mean nothing after “Avengers: Endgame” and GoT 8x03. I’m tired, dazed, very confused, and on the verge of a complete breakdown. While I still have some energy, here we fucking go.

That opening STILL gives me goosebumps after all these years, not gonna lie.

I lost my whole uterus when Daenerys stared down Jaime and was like, “yo, I always thought of how I would kill you. Here you are” (rough translation). I was like, “BiTcH nOoOoOoO”

ALSO, DAENERYS, HOW DARE YOU QUESTION TYRION! I FELT LIKE I WAS HALLUCINATING! Someone get me some water!

Sansa, a fucking goddess, the QUEEN IN THE NORTH, A RED WOLF. I DON’T GIVE A HOLY SHIT. I LOVE HER. I WANT HER IN MY LIFE FOREVER. TOUCH HER, AND I WILL BURN THE WHOLE WORLD TO THE GROUND!

Me, during that scene:

Brienne standing up for Jaime the way she did is not helping my desperate need for them to get together. I’m trying to put OUT this fire, not add fuel to it, ffs.

When Sansa began speaking to Brienne after that, I was terrified that Sansa would be like “you vouch for him? You would fight beside him? Then you will suffer the same fate as him.” I was like, are they gonna get fed to the dragons? TaKe Me InStEaD!

Sansa giving Jaime a pass because of her respect for Brienne cleared my skin up, and I will breathe easier until I see Endgame on Thursday night. help.

LISTEN! Here’s my issue! Daenerys’ look at Sansa infuriated me when Sansa gave Jaime a pardon of sorts. Then, she’s like, “UH, JON! WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THIS?!?!?!?!” like she’s just magically gonna get what she wants because they’re having………….the sex. Jon’s not gonna turn on his sister/cousin. I’m sorry, but don’t.

Bran just keeps staring at people. Just get that kid a blindfold, he’ll be less of a creep.

Me at Bran the ENTIRE episode:

Let me say this, I knew from the moment Arya did that little eyebrow lift at Gendry in the beginning of the episode, that they were gonna sex by the end of it. I’ve shipped it since they first met, and I will ship it until I die.

“It’s gonna be safer down in the crypt” -Gendry, totally oblivious to the little assassin Arya’s become.

“I know death. He’s got many faces. I look forward to seeing this one.” -Arya, giving me goosebumps while throwing dragonglass at a post. What a little fucking queen. Oh, God, take me away.

I lowkey want Arya to stare right into the face of the Night King, right into the face of death, and I just want her to say “not today” as a callback to season 1 and her training with Syrio Forel. Ugh. SHIT.

“Bran looks like a coconut” -my friend, 2k19

“At least Cersei won’t get to murder me” -Tyrion, giving me goosebumps because Bronn’s got that fucking crossbow of poetic justice, and I WILL NOT HAVE IT! TOUCH TYRION, AND I WILL RIOT!

Podrick has also gotten so much better with the sword, and I AM JUST SO PROUD!

“I’m not the fighter I used to be, but I’d be honored to serve under your command if you’ll have me” -Jaime, giving Brienne the credit she has always deserved, but that’s not even the best part. What happens later is what truly had me weeping.

I just want Jorah and Daenerys to kiss one time in a ship-fulfilling way. I just want him to be happy. I NEED him to be happy. Jorah fighting on behalf of Tyrion made me love him all the more, and if he dies, I WILL RIOT AGAIN!

The Sansa/Daenerys interaction had me quaking. I was literally sitting on the couch, head in my hands, shaking. I was both angry and relieved. While I’m upset they’re being pitted against one another, I’m relieved that they’re staying true to their characters. Sansa is true to her home and her people, Daenerys just wants to take what is rightfully hers (I mean, as we all know, it’s not TECHNICALLY hers *cough* Jon Snow). They’re both such headstrong women, and I hope they come together at some point. The women of this show would bring the entire population of Westeros to their knees.

Those two have been through so much together (too much, really), and so much on their own. The fact that they are together again makes me so emotional. JUST KILL ME!

That little girl that Davos served made me cry AGAIN! He was reminded of Shireen. He wants to protect the little girl he couldn’t save.

“We’re all going to die” -Tormund, putting it all out there like it’s no big deal. It’s a VERY BIG DEAL

Missandei and Greyworm having their little moment just drove home my fear that one of them is going to die before the end of the season, perhaps by the end of the next episode. WHEN YOU MAKE PROMISES IN THIS SHOW, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO KEEP THEM! YOU FUCKING FICTIONAL CHARACTERS SHOULD KNOW THIS!

Ghost just chilling in the background of that scene with Sam, Jon, and Edd is a whole 2019 mood. He gets no attention, barely any screen time, and others may not even notice him. But not us. Not us.

Honestly, this episode made me so fucking emotional. I think it sunk in that these characters I’ve been following for so many years through the books and show, are likely to meet their end so soon. I’m just having a hard time grasping this concept, and it started to sink in tonight. I’ve read these books since I was a young teen, and I started watching the show when it was coming out (against my father’s wishes). I’ve followed these stories for such a long time, and a lot is going to happen this week for me, between Endgame and this upcoming episode. I’m experiencing too many emotions, and my body may just decide to shut down altogether. Who knows?

Battle of the Bastards, Loot train attack, Tower of Joy, First look at Ser Arthur Dayne 💜 basically every time arya is on screen. But I guess S05E04 holds a special place in my heart that whole episode was about Subtle hints at jon's Parentage/Subtle-mild hints at Jonerys future magical babies/ & had perhaps my most fav scene in the show of dany & Ser Barristan Selmy bonding over Rhaegar!

■What ruler do you think brought about the most change in Westeros, be it good or bad?

Jaehaerys I Targaryen, the Conciliator. Alysanne Targaryen, the Good Queen. I think they were the Obama's of the 7k literally inherited the realm from Maegor who almost crumbled the dynasty & the realm but they rebuilt it to last for two more centuries. While you asked Good & Bad I'd like to mention for 99% of good that Baehaerys did there was 1% of bad done by him too. The Iron Precedent of 101 A.C. that establishes male inheritance over female which single handedly caused DOD, Blackfyre Rebellions & is still a problem! If only Jaehaerys would've listened to Alysanne & made daenerys the heir! Listen to your wives Men! Make it a habit!

■If you could ask GRRM one question what would it be?

In a shitty, patriachial world like Westeros, where it is more than clear that men have build & sustained their kingdoms & legacies through Acts of War or Revenge or Want & Need to secure power. Why are women like Daenerys, Arya & Cersei criticized as would-be Mad or psychotic/Too far gone or Already Mad characters?

■If GRRM could write a short novel/series about one other family or historical time (besides the Targaryens) in his universe what would you want it to be about? (My choice would be Nymeria’s Journey!)

I would like to learn more about The Daynes man House Dayne! They are so peculiar, mysterious & any reader of asoiaf knows theres more to that house that is important for the endgame than what we know! More about this family dating back to the Dawn age & the era of the rule of Kings of Torrentine. More about Ashara Dayne & her eldest brother who is still unnamed what is his name? How did he actually look like if his son has valyrian features? was he a snack just like his younger brother?.. you know.. important questions like those needs to be answered!

■What was your first introduction to ASOIAF/Game of Thrones? Did someone tell you about it, did you see it online or did you come across it at a store/shop?

My cousin told me about the book series but I was busy with my studies at the time so I couldn't pick it up. But then the show happened & he told me about it too so I watched the first season before reading the books. Then I picked up my Jaw from the floor after watching S01 & straight away bought those books. & THAT'S HOW MY LIFE ENDED!

■What’s one thing that bothers you about GRRM’s series?

I think it's the doylism that bothers me. It has always bothered me I am a Tolkien nerd & that man wrote stories beyond human capacity & error. Middle earth is as fantasy as fantasy can be & even though J. R. R Tolkien was inspired to write his stories by the service he did in military during war his story isn't a doylist one, maybe mild references here & there but nothing as serious as asoiaf. I feel like doylism complicates everything in this story! (P.S I also never was much of a history student Biology was Life!)

■What’s one thing you unabashedly love about GRRM’s series?

The impossibly, irrevocably, unattainable & unfair high expectation of men (selective men) that GRRM has created. I mean good luck to myself on getting in a relationship or getting married coz you aint never gonna be Ser Arthur Dayne awesome or Rhaegar Targaryen & Jon Snow Broody, Melancholy sexy!

■What are your feelings about the prequel series in development at HBO right now for the Long Night?

I really really love Bran Stark & how he is connected to the rich 8,000 or longer history of Kings of Winter & the actual nature of this world, all the stuff that predates back to Dawn Age. First Long Night is something I would definitely love to watch, Fingers crossed am sure I'll like it! Also because valyria came into existence right after the First Long Night so this series only gives me hope for a Valyrian Freehold Prequel THAT WHICH I TRULY WANT!

Me: "She's telling Daenerys to burn the city."

His dark, curly hair pools against her naked belly. His eyes are glued to the dimly lit screen emitting sounds of swords clashing. The quiet clicking of the buttons on his controller the only clue that he's moving. Her silver blonde hair is tucked behind her ears as her violet blue eyes skim the words of the book held with one hand, her other hand lightly scratching his scalp, mindlessly playing with his hair until she needs to turn a page.

Their bodies are splayed across their bed and the heavy form of Ghost is nestled against Jon's back, his cold nose pressed up to Dany's shoulder.

It was rare for them to be home the same night. Most of the time one or the other would be working late. Her shifts at the hospital were demanding and the time between the O.R. was spent checking up on patients or trying to sleep. Jon's nights at the lab were just as late. He knew they were on the verge of a breakthrough and had been pushing himself harder than ever to isolate the gene that could lead to a cure.

Tonight though they had both managed to get a night off, able to be together, even if just to be near one another as they turned their brains off and imbibed in a mindless hobby.

"Fuck!" He mutters as his screen turns red. His failure at playing the fantasy game breaks her concentration from the sentence in the suspenseful mystery novel. He hastily turns the console off, letting the screen go dark before sighing heavily. He shifts his head to look at her over his shoulder, observing her continued reading.

"Ghost, down." He says, nudging the ball of white fur until the four legged companion slinks off the mattress and into his bed on the floor next to the window. Jon shifts his body so that he can gently kiss the soft skin along her ribs.

"What are you doing?" She eyes him as he tugs at the delicate lace of her underwear.

"Nothing..." He smiles against her hip.

"Doesn't look like nothing." She narrows her eyes at him as a shiver goes up her spine.

"An experiment..." He smirks as he manages to finagle the material lower, the platinum gold smattering of hair between her legs peeking out.

"For science?" She lifts her hips just slightly, allowing him to rid her of the panties.

"Exactly..." He muses as he huffs and rolls them past the dragon tattoo on her thigh. She lets the book drop from her hand and bites her lip as she looks down at him. A warmth pools between her legs as he kisses his way back up to her core.

"Mmm, I think this is a good start, what's your hypothesis?" Her hands reach for his chin, pulling him up.

"That you're capable of having at least three orgasms in under ten minutes." Kissing her palm he bends back down and drags his nose along her slit. She moans and arches her back.

"That's a compelling theory." She gasps as he readjusts himself between her legs, hitching one over his shoulder, resting it on his back as he pushes the other off the edge of the mattress so it dangles over the side of the bed. "What are your variables?"

He hums against her and she feels the reverberations through her entire body. "I don't think I should share those with the subject." He growls as he lets his fingers slowly slide between her folds. "For it to be a controlled experiment you'll need to experience the tests first hand."

They were 22 when they met, over halfway through their doctorate program as both had started college programs when they were 16. Followed shortly by having watched his sons die from a genetic disease that he could not fix. Rae was the oldest, strong until it hit him when he was 20. He killed himself after he was diagnosed. Vic, on the other hand didn't care that he had the gene. He lived a dangerous life. He took too many risks, and the one that got him killed was beyond stupid.

Dany fortunately did not have the green but was left motherless and with a father who was a genius, but stunted emotionally and crippled by grief. He eventually went so insane he was put in a home and Dany was shipped off to live with a man who was close to her family, a colleague of her father. He cared for Dany, harbored her and sculpted her mind. Dany had inherited her father's brilliance and, from what others said, her mother's grace. However it hadn't been the only thing she inherited. Her wealth was unimaginable, but also untouchable until the age of 28, as per the trust agreement.

She was raised with nothing but the kindness of strangers. The small amount of money received by her guardians covered the necessities. She had clawed her way out of her circumstances, applying for grants, taking out loans and working part time jobs in order to afford rent with a bunch of misfits.

Tyrion was a dwarf, incredibly smart and studying to be a lawyer. He had a quick wit and a sharp tongue, it was a good thing he chose to like Jon, because he could be a formidable person to have as against you. Missandei was incredible at languages. She was fluent in at least twelve that Jon was aware of and was currently one of the best interpreters at the U.N. Greyson or "Grey Worm" as everyone called him, was on the football team, one of the strongest and most gifted, but he was painfully shy and preferred the company of Missandei. Today they remain together, he works as head of security at the U.N.

Jon looks at the bedside clock, he's been between her legs for all of 7 minutes and she's edging toward her third climax now. Her hands are clawing at his shoulders as she's propped above him. Game of Thrones might be my favourite thing about summertime~

(latest episode rant. I’m gonna tag it as spoilers just in case?)

Sooo first of all I knew it was Jorah and even though I turned the volume off because the sounds of Sam “operating” him were gross I loved the idea and I’m sure he won’t die. Also Sam in the Citadel among those old asses is so cute I can’t even~

Also Lord Varys’ speech to Daenerys was so badass! She was trying to intimidate him but he was completely unfazed. 

And Missandei being the languages nerd that she is and correcting Daenerys’s translation (and it’s not even the first time) into a genderless form was so cool, also I ship her and Grey Worm since the beginnning, he’s so cute telling her ��Now that I met Missandei from the island of Naath I'm afraid”...and their kiss and *everything else* was aaah 

Everyone praising Jon Snow and Daenerys looking kinda jealous? I can’t wait for them to meet and the truth about him be known, I wonder how it will happen, I’m actually afraid about Melisandre and Sir Davos...and Melisandre in general, I don’t like her but she might be useful to Daenerys indeed. I’m also anxious for Sansa, although I loved Jon leaving the North in her hands. I love anything with Jon and Sansa actually, and I loved him attacking Littlefinger to protect her, I so hope she doesn’t f*ck up and fall for Littlefingeer’s manipulations..I hope she’ll keep Brienne and possibly little badass Lyanna Mormont by her side so not to be swayed. 

Also Jon being the King in the North and staying below the throne, among his people, so different from Cersei sitting on the Throne and Daenerys too...speaking of Cersei, her dress is amazingly villain-ish, I love it. I love their costumes so much this seasons, both hers and Sansa’s and Daenerys’ are so cool, all in shades of grey like the sky! I also like Jaime’s armour. And I’m so so worried about him, he’s so gonna die tragically. Also “will you fight on our side or with savages and eunuchs?” dude give me savages &eunuchs anytime~

More anxiety because right when I was so liking Asha flirting with the cool Martell woman (ok I love Asha flirting with everyone, she’s so badass and cool I’d fall for her too~) and then fucking Euron ruined it all, I know a lot of people’s gonna die but I wasn’t ready and omg Theon?? what an a**hole! Also Tyrion’s strategy, striking on 2 fronts and not using foreigners on King’s Landing, was really clever, so that it’s been f*cked up it’s such a pity...I hope this doesn’t f*ck up their alliance with Olenna, they must all stick together. they so gotta ally with the North...

I left my favourite part for last because ARYA being told about Jon and changing her mind was so beautiful! She always loved Jon and now she’s going to return to her remaining family! Although I know she’s going to keep on with her revenge, she’s going to be precious with her ability, also I hope she’s going to have a new and mature relationship with Sansa now that both sisters have been through so much. they’re gonna rule the North together with Jon aaah

(oh wait or will they pull a Targaryen marry their brothers to keep their bloodline and marry him off with Daenerys like shippers always wanted?? we’ll see...)

Anyway NYMERIA! I’m so sad about her not reuniting with Arya, it’s like she’s disappointed in her and she changed because of loneliness...just like Arya. 

I’ve been hoping for their reunion since season 1 and I hope they will reunite for real in the future though~

So, GoT S8 E4 thoughts.

1. So, Dany is fucking losing her marbles. WHERE ARE MY DRAGONS. That coffin got nailed down. She’s was abused all through her childhood and is now feeling insecure and unloved when she had been so well-loved in Essos--a region which she grew up in and saw as nuanced, in a way she does not see Westeros. She thinks of being Queen as a position, her birthright, whereas she sees Essos from the ground up. The conversation between Tyrion and Varys was superficially illuminating on that topic--she has the added benefit of a miracle that made her feel like she was sent. 

I feel like GRRM would’ve given that conversation far more depth, but I also think that this is the best we’re gonna get, so. I’ll take what I can get and go write motherfucking fanfiction to take the edge off.

I can’t help but wonder what a time-traveling Viserys would do if dropped in the middle of Dany’s war camp post-Rhaegal’s death. Mostly just so I can watch Harry Lloyd make faces again. See folks, this is why we can’t have nice things.

2. Were the fucking watchstanders in Dany’s fleet all skating off??? I mean what the fuck, y’all. AND WHAT ABOUT DANY HERFUCKINGSELF. SHE’S LITERALLY GOT A DRAGON’S FLIGHT VIEW.

Also I really hope some dickhead with a bad sense of humor shows this scene during an OPSEC GMT. *cackles* Keep your fucking heads on swivels, folks.

3. They really just did Ghost and Rhaegal like that.

3a. To be entirely honest, I feel like these scenes would’ve played better had they had the character development and depth of the previous seasons. I feel like a lot of this episode would’ve payed off better with as much depth in the latter seasons as there was in the earlier.

3b. As far as character depth, the abandonment of Ghost, who was literally battle-scarred and bleeding still from risking his life for Jon and the symbolic abandonment of his Northern roots and the death of Rhaegal just felt really, really sudden. A lot of my issues with this episode go like that--they’re just ticking off activities on a list of “shit we have to do to wrap this up.” And, honestly, GRRM’s writing, notoriously organic and deeply detail oriented I write the same way, it’s a bitch, it’s not easy to keep that shit on  a schedule, and it gets to be like a mustard seed after a while would’ve probably lent a lot of internal processes that made more sense with perspective added to it, but doesn’t lend itself well to a television program on a schedule, so D&D are left with the awkward prospect of a time crunch and some unusually tricky material do wrap up. When I say the internal monologue would have helped, it’s kind of like how Catelyn Stark was to a degree only very sympathetic with the addition of her POV in the book, but that’s all internalized and not easy to show in a television show.

But, again, I don’t think GRRM is ever going to finish ASOIAF, so I’ll just write my fucking fanfiction and deal.

4. I’m still cheesed at Jaime, but having watched the scene again, I feel like, really, the poor man is making a decision he doesn’t want to have to make but feels obligated to make, and he’s not great with emotional...situations. He still better have a plan or so help me God this boy will catch these hands...

5.I’m a history and politics nerd so I really liked some of the conversations in this episode, even if I think they were a bit shallow.

6. Damn Sansa, you’ve come so far and I’m so proud of you.

7. Arya and the Hound Road Trip 2: Electric Boogaloo Aww yiss.

8. I feel like Gendry would’ve had more of a leg to stand on if the poor guy had just said “could you just pop back to Storm’s End every now and then and ride me hard” and Arya would’ve been like “cool sounds doable.” Because I could totally see Gendry standing in windows staring out at the rain, sighing, whispering Heero Arya. He just went off half cocked and excited.

9. Missandei is dead and I’m pissed about that. It didn’t even feel fucking necessary, just something awful to watch, and why would anyone know to target Missandei in particular? She’s important, but how the fuck does Cersei know that?

10. Overall, it just felt really, really rushed, there was one random mention of a Prince of Dorne, and I think that overall it would’ve benefited from the depth of an expanded timeframe. Characters are blowing past conversations and situations and time spans that would’ve taken whole seasons in previous years.

11. Bet Tyrion betrays her for love. I would be okay with this.

12. Sam’s purpose in this story is done and I’m still pissed at him about getting Edd killed, so I don’t even know if he’ll have any redeeming moments to drag him out of this doldrum before episode 6′s credits roll.

13. Tormund is a delight, as always.

14. I actually really disliked this episode, but I hated it more for thematic reasons than anything else, for reasons already discussed.

15. To be ENTIRELY fair to everyone, D&D included, they were never going to please everyone with whatever ending they cooked up. Someone was always going to complain that this or that wasn’t done well enough or it was overdone, or they wanted this or that ship to become canon. Ultimately, we know that GRRM gave D&D the waypoints to hit and the endgame, and at least we’re getting an ending. I’ll be content with that.

No one is saying that you should think that they’re the best writers. I think that their work pretty much speaks for itself. Y'all called 7x06 trash and it won an award for best direction. Same with season 7. Won the biggest Emmy for the year. People who claim Emilia can’t act were bitter because she won some prestigious award for acting. Not saying you do these things, but the same people who shit on D&D also shit on the actors.

You can criticize without being nasty. The “Dumb and Dumber” thing is juvenile or calling them hacks or whatever vitriolic shit that people feel the need to spew. Fyi, Benioff is a great writer. He’s written critically acclaimed shit. Google it.

They are the middle men between the HBO execs and the fans. HBO wanted to extend the show to 10 seasons, but D&D stopped that because they know that quality is better than quantity. So many of the things that they’re criticised for are actually shitty because people like to focus on pendatic shit. For example the so called time travel has been there since day one. Catelyn travelled from KL to the Vale in one episode. A raven was sent to Stannis and it got to him in the next scene. Their biggest crime is overestimating some of their audience and thinking that they’ll appreciate the “show don’t tell” approach. 

So they made some changes. So what? It’s only the book readers who care about that shit and considering that many of those book readers swore with all their heart and Daenerys isn’t Jon’s type, they’re not the type of company that you should be proud of keeping. They’re clueless fucks who circlejerk to uncovering the mysteries of a fictional story and then end up being wrong years later. They’re the same people who claim that Jon is stealing Stannis’ plot.

David and Dan have the same bugdet that friends had almost two decades ago and look what they’re delivering to our screens. 

Fyi, they’ve been criticized since the very beginning of the show for not sticking to George’s vision only for George to come out this year and say that most of what happened in S7 was what he planned. Some so called mistakes and plotholes aren’t that at all. Like the chains for Viserion. If people weren’t blind with nerd rage, they would have seen that the Night King shot him down close to a dock that was buried in snow and that dock had chains. The time it took Dany to arrive was ambiguous. They put in a lot of time and effort to make it as close to perfect as possible. It’s not their fault that GRRM couldn’t keep his word and finish the books on time.

There’s no difference between some of y'all and the star wars fans who shit on Kathleen Kennedy for making some changes on the movies. Entitled, bratty, ungrateful fans. Thank God it’s almost over. Unfortunately, the prequels are here and the pretentious book readers are already complaining because of the casting descriptions.

Also, being a woman doesn’t excuse you from being a decent human being. Most of Daenerys’ thoughts are in her head in the book. Unless you wanted a voice over, there’s no way that they would have been able to convey her thoughts. Even with her thoughts, pov and other POVs of her character where people see how great she is, she was one of the most hated characters amongst book readers so you can’t blame D&D for that. Watching reaction videos should tell you all you need to know about how people see her. Even without reading about her compassion, viewers are drawn to her.

Finally, Daenerys is a fictional character no matter how wonderful and amazing she is, she’s not real. The people who work on the show are. It is messed up to focus on what you perceive to be their fuck ups. If people did that to you, you’d never grow

I’m so confused, Dan Weiss, is that you?? I’m half convinced this is Dan Weiss.

1) I’m not a pedantic book reader. I’ve said many times I started with Season 1 of the show, then read the books, then continued with the show as it aired. I’ve never pretended to be a book-expert. There are many of them here and on Reddit and Westeros.org and in the comments sections of Geroge’s Not a Blog but I’ve always admitted my knowledge of the entire WOIAF is limited to a once through read of the books and the show. I’ve certainly never pretended to know the series any better than anyone else.

2) I’ve stuck up for decisions made by D&D PLENTY of times. I got a lot of shit in inbox from anons when I wrote a post defending (or suspending judgement) on their choice to have Sansa replace Jeyne Poole in the Ramsay-Winterfell-rape plot which is decidedly their most controversial decision that was not a matter that wasn’t out of their hands, like network things.

And I’ve defended other storylines from them as well - the wight hunt mission, I’ve talked extensively about how it would have happened any way you slice the story so it wasn’t a “dumb” D&D idea, I’ve talked about their filming & casting limitations and how it’s a result of location and availability and not anything to do with the actual race of the extras in scenes, I’ve talked about how I definitely think Dany will burn the Khals in the books, just as she did in the show, defending that plot, I’ve talked about things I love in terms of book vs show - Battle of Blackwater, Robb&Talisa, how Season 6 is unarguably the best season of Game of Thrones and it’s the one that had to go completely off books because they had surpassed what George had already written, I’ve talked about how I’m glad they left Lady Stoneheart out of the story because I thought it would have cheapened Catelyn’s death and the impact of Jon’s resurrection, I’ve talked about how I like that they changed scenes like Dany’s wedding night and the Jaime/Cersei sex scene next to Joffrey’s body in the Sept because in the books the nature of the ambiguity of “consent” is ridiculous and D&D choosing to present those scenes as rape made it easier for the audience to see what was actually going on vs the books which leave it open to question whether the victims are actually victims, I’ve talked about how I like they aged Missandei up so that Daenerys could have an actual friend as opposed to young Missandei in the books who’s dependent on her and sees her as a mother figure, I’ve praised the show for making Dany more mature when it comes to her relationship with Daario, I’ve talked about how I love Shae and Sansa’s relationship in the show and how they humanized Shae and made her a more lovable character, I’ve praised the show for setting Tyrion and Dany together sooner than in the books because the Tyrion ruling Meereen in Dany’s absence plot worked really well, I’ve defended their depiction of the Jonerys romance to Jonsa and Jonerys shippers alike who say it was rushed or poorly done and praised the way they so closely stuck to both Jon and Dany’s character....so many others, I forget them all.

3) I’ve never called D&D “Dumb and Dumber” or any other rude names and I usually refrain from using insults like that on my entire blog. I also usually refrain from reblogging posts that contain language like that because it’s childish and really insulting.

4) Just because someone’s writing or something is “critically acclaimed” doesn’t mean really anything. Critics nowadays are widely acknowledged as being “out of touch” with the times and the nature of story-telling as a whole and many industry people also admit this - Why do you think the Oscars wanted to include that “Outstanding Popular Film” category for the coming year? So not sure what David Benioff’s critically acclaimed other work has to do with anything.

5) I’ve never really criticized D&D for their plot lines or storytelling as a whole. I think I’ve only pointed out plot holes only twice - once about Jon receiving Tyrion’s raven before Sam’s even though Sam’s was sent an entire episode before Tyrion’s and once about Jon telling Tormund Dany would only fight beside them if he bent the knee when the entire Wight Hunt mission was so Dany could fight beside them and he hadn’t bent the knee.

Aside from that, I’ve never criticized their story choices as they deviate from GRRM.

I’ve criticized their portrayal of women - especially Dany but really women as a whole - throughout the story and I don’t think I need to defend my criticism for that. It’s a HUGE deal.

Because here’s the thing - story changes made by D&D...don’t really matter. They’ve said plenty of times the show will end just as the books will end so I’m happy to tag along with their journey because I know they’ll stay faithful to George’s vision in that respect and I’ve defended them to other fans in this regards.

But when they CONTINUALLY make decisions that cast female characters in a much harsher light than their book counterparts and cast male characters in much better light than their book counterparts, I’m not going to defend that! I’m not going to sit idly by and just pretend I’m okay with that.

If it were one or two isolated incidences, it would be nothing. But that’s not the case. This is a pattern repeated time and time again throughout the entire series. This isn’t a network thing, this isn’t even about “you can’t please everyone.” This is blatant sexism, regardless of whether that was their intention or not.

Just now looking at the IMDB page for GOT, I noticed they’ve only had TWO women work in writing aspects for the show for a total of 4 episodes. The rest were written exclusively by men. Also, only ONE female director has directed a total of 4 episodes throughout the series.

Now I know, as someone who is a film minor and one day wants to work in the industry, that the film and television industry as a whole, is very lacking when it comes to representing women and that’s unfortunate. So it’s not entirely their fault. They just fell into the pattern of the industry.

But again, when it comes to sticking to George’s original dialogue or creating their own, the times they’ve opted to create their own frequently results negatively for female characters...or when a female character’s lines are given to a male character making the man appear the brilliant one in the scene.

I’m really curious to know if this anon is a man or woman...or Dan Weiss. Not that it changes anything but perhaps it’s the reason you’ve yet to either notice the sexism in the writing or just don’t see it as such a big deal.

Yes, these are all fictional characters and the people behind the show are real people.

But the people who watch the show are real people too. And while again, I know there is no possible way for D&D to please every single member of their audience, the least they could do is approach their writing from a more neutral standpoint or, you know, just fucking hire a full-time woman to co-write episodes with.

However, it’s too late for that. The show is finished. There’s no changing what’s already been made.

So I will be here, continuing to defend a female character that wouldn’t need nearly as much defending, had she been translated onto the screen properly and not through a biased lens.
