I love that we got a parallel to this scene:

In both scenes, Dany is feeling threatened but only in the 8x01 scene does she make a threat. In 8x01, she's feeling threatened by Sansa's disrespect and makes the not-so-subtle threat to Jon. In 8x02, she's feeling threatened by finding out Jon is actually a Targaryen and this threatens her claim to the IT. In 8x01, the Dothraki garnered Dany's attention while Jon watched her. In 8x02, the horn blasts signalling the arrival of the WW garnered Jon's attention while Dany watched him.

Not only does this signal the beginning of Targbowl happening (well, it's actually already been happening but with neither of them knowing it was actually that) but it also links the two threats: Dany and the NK (& their armies).

And it absolutely cements yet another Jonsa parallel. This connects their characters but also them together as a ruling entity. Sansa is running Winterfell when Jon & Dany arrive. As if we didn't get confirmation enough from seeing last season and everything in 8x01 & 8x02 to confirm this fact, Dany confirms it herself in dialogue in the library scene between her and Sansa. Jon is now confirmed to be Rhaegar's son, the last male heir for House Targaryen with a claim for the IT, where previously despite being a bastard, he had been named King in the North. While Dany didn't like Cersei sitting on the IT and wanted her removed asap, Jon and Sansa were the real threats she was facing. Jon and Sansa were loved and respected by the people (together and separately), chosen by the people to lead them, and Dany does not have any of that love or respect or people choosing her and this is what pisses her off, what she feels most threatened by. Cersei was simply an obstacle for her, nothing more. And that is why she decides to burn KL when the people are not crying out for their "true queen" in 8x05 but to be saved from her.

Jon and Sansa were the ones she was most threatened by so it makes absolute sense that when she arrives at Winterfell, her devolution picks up its pace and her true self starts to show.

I really really wish Daniel Portman's version of Jenny of Oldstones was available for purchase. I LOVE his voice.

I love Grey Worm and Missandei's relationship so much. It's definitely a one of a kind relationship in the show.

Makes it even more heartbreaking with what's to come.

And I love how Jorah is shown getting ready to fight the WW (that haven't shown up yet) while Dany goes looking for Jon in the Crypt, uninvited. Heartbreaking.

ok but can we stop pretending like political Jon is actually happening. Jon has never been deceitful for the sake of politics and it makes literally zero sense for him to start now just because he has the claim for a throne he doesn’t even want. It also makes no sense for him to be deceitful about loving someone when all he’s ever wanted is for someone to love him and have faith in him.
