I saw an incredibly interesting theory on Reddit that has unfortunately been deleted by the mods, so I wanted to discuss it here because I've never seen it anywhere else. OP began by pointing out that there are 13 timelines in Scene 0 in Magia Record, and the ending implies that the main anime timeline is Homura's 14th loop overall.
This contradicts Urobuchi's oft-repeated statement from a con panel in 2013 that that the number of loops was "approaching 100", which a lot of fans take to be canon, but was never clearly defined in the original series. (For what it's worth, Urobuchi has also gone on the record saying he didn't think too much about the mechanics behind Homura's time travel, so I suspect this is one more example.)
If there are truly 14 timelines, then it would go along way towards explaining why there are 14 Clara Dolls: each one would thus be a metaphorical--and quite possibly literal--representation of one of Homura's time loops. You could also make a case for a possible 15th timeline after Madoka's wish resets the world to account for the "missing" 15th Clara Doll; I personally believe that "Ai" is the Homura we follow for most of Rebellion, so that isn't strictly necessary, but you do you.
As a bonus, it would also retroactively explain why there are 14 "strings of fate" binding Madoka and Homura in episode 11 - this might have originally been metaphorical, because the animators didn't want to draw so many strings (though I suppose they could have), but it would now be literal as well.
I know a lot of people are emotionally invested in the idea of 100+ loops, but this idea makes a lot of sense. Up until now, the exact number of loops has not been a major plot point (and only 5 are explicitly shown in the anime), but it will be interesting to see if this comes up in any capacity in Walpurgis no Kaiten.

dopelganger homura: *giggling mysteriously* fancy seeing u here kaname madoka
madoka: um….. at school?
doppelganger homura: it must have been fated that you and i cross paths. no… it is the victory of my will over fate that we meet like this. i wove our love into the fabric of destiny itself, remaking the universe to my desire. our talking to each other cannot be stopped by god or devil alike.
madoka, remembering abruptly that homura is christian and maybe just has difficulty interacting with non-christian girls: oh, um… okay! im glad you feel comfortable enough to talk to me (?)
doppelganger homura: I Want You.
madoka:
constantly thinking abt the premise of homuras familiars (clara dolls i guess) taking on her image and going to flirt w madoka (and then failing miserably bc they are her) while homura is grinding her teeth trying to stop them from interacting w madoka at all costs. Peak metaphor for repressing lesbian desire
#homura physically dragging her doppelganger clara doll out of there#like this is mortifying for her oh my …. why are ur familiars propositioning ur ‘fated enemy’#pmmm tag#I just think the clara dolls (gloominess but also every clara doll) would have such a dramatic insane way of talking to normal ppl#like ok miss Only read gothic novels during lunchtime instead of socializing w ppl

more observations and things I think people are missing from the trailer:
this is not madoka, I know it looks like this character has pink twin-tails but it's almost definitely the "mystery girl' (who perhaps is a wraith). madoka is distinguished with white thigh high socks which despite the costume changes she still visibly has in the trailer. it also says "WHO" right after she falls and uh. the new runes spell 'majuu (legendary beast)' 'legendar bestie (again legendary beast)' and 'wraith' all around her.
wraiths are known in the madokaverse to be able to steal people's individual powers for their own gain. in the wraith arc, homura literally loses all her magical ability at a point to a wrath, and also her heart. some people have theorized that it was homura who was stealing the girls' powers - such as sayaka's healing power, which would have resulted in her becoming gravely injured due to her fighting style. so, what if it was a wraith / the mystery girl?
this magical girl has been noted to have the physical traits of homura, mami, and madoka. she is seen surrounded with runes that mean wraith in 3 different languages. wraiths steal powers from the girls and have the ability to imitate them. she is a wraith!!
the impact on the story so far is unknown but I bet I'll be able to come back to this and theorize on some connections between this and the homura - clara dolls stuff and perhaps the tarot connection.

The Butcher's Boy, Part 1
John "Soap" Mactavish x reader, medieval au
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4
---
I stare at my reflection in mirror in front of me, trying to ignore the endless chatter of my mother and the seamstress behind me. The dress is gorgeous--fit for royalty I suppose. The expensive, purple silk cascades down my body and pools down to my feet just right, hugging my corseted waist tightly. I begin to tug at the long sleeves with mild frustration. The expensive silk itches at my skin as I try to adjust it. My mother approaches from behind and slaps my hand away.
"Stop with your fidgeting. Ladies do not fidget." I would roll my eyes at her, but that would call for a later punishment--one that I would like to avoid.
"Yes, mother." I murmur. I avoid making contact with my own eyes in the mirror, knowing that there are likely glossed over as the reality of my situation sinks in.
"Many girls would kill for a chance like this. You have been chosen as a possible wife for the king, are you not happy?" I turn to face my mother. A stern woman, one who has embraced the life of a noblewoman steadfastly.
"I am happy for you and father." My mother purses her thin lips and silently seethes at my reply. Before our conversation can progress further, the seamstress approaches. I envy the older woman's calm demeanor and her simple life.
"How do we like the dress, dears?" She smiles brightly at us. Her hair is greyed, long and curly, only pinned back to reveal her face. My mother looks down on her, I can see the judgement in her eyes every time we enter her shop.
"We will take it." My mother replies quickly. The seamstress nods and begins to undress me. She begins to help me undress and put on the dress I came in. My mother walks outside to our carriage to wait, albeit impatiently.
"Thank you, Miss Imelda." I smile at the seamstress as she finishes fixing my hair by tying a silk scarf around my head. I walk outside the shop and enter the carriage slowly to try and avoid the stern talking to I will likely receive. Instead, I am hit with silence as my mother ignores me. The carriage lurches forward and I stare outside the small window as we travel home. We reach home after minutes of silence, and I am helped out of the carriage by one of the footmen. My mother pushes past me quickly to enter our home and I walk upstairs to my room alone. I collapse on my bed and burrow my head against one of my pillows in a huff.
"Lady Y/N?" I tilt my head up with a groan to meet the smiling face of my maid, Clara. I feel the bed move as she sits beside me. "It seems you had great fun at the seamstress." She giggles as I roll my eyes.
"It was awful. My mother insists on dressing me like a doll. If she insists upon dressing my hair in pins and bows, I may impale myself on one of the pins to escape it." Clara rubs my back gently as she smiles down at me.
"I could think of worse fates than to wed a king." I begin to roll my eyes again, but Clara pinches my cheek. "Hush." I swat at her shoulder grumpily as I rub over the sore skin. "Would it brighten your mood to join me for some errands?" I sit up with a grin, eager to leave the confines of my home as I am often not allowed to leave for such trivial tasks.
"Of course!" Clara giggles again as I hug her tightly and stand up from the bed.
In town, Clara and I walk from shop to shop as she collects a variety of items. I scrunch my nose as we approach the butcher, already imagining the stench of raw meat and blood. Clara tugs me along impatiently as we enter the shop. She walks over to the end of the counter to speak to an older man who awaits her with a smile. My eyes flicker around the shop as I stand in the corner. I take a few steps toward the counter hesitantly, looking to the array of raw meat and animals products strung about. My attention is distracted by the sudden entrance of a young man through the back of the shop. Clad in a white apron stained in red, his bulky frame approaches. My eyes trail from his muscular arms down to the large piece of meat in his hand. He carries it almost weightlessly.
Slam! I'm snapped out of my daydream as he slaps the meat on the counter and begins to chop at it with a knife. Instead of repulsion, I find myself oddly interested in the action as his thick arm slams down on the meat to separate it into pieces. Blood splatters on his already dirty apron as I watch him quickly butcher the piece of meat into small pieces. Ladies do not stare, I begin to repeat. He begins to wrap several pieces in brown paper, tying with string to keep it intact. His nimble fingers quickly tie knots around the paper, gripping the packages with his large, calloused hands. Dark specks of coarse hair cover his hands and arms. I begin to imagine the feeling of it contrasted with my soft skin. Ladies do not stare. His head tilts up and I'm met with the bluest eyes I have ever seen. Dark brows and a coarse beard frame his face almost perfectly. I quickly avert my eyes to the stone floor as he notices my staring, cursing at myself for my lack of manners.
"Need somethin' lass?" My stomach drops at the unfamiliar voice but I raise my head cautiously to see the man staring at me with a boyish grin.
"N-No, I'm just waiting." I curse myself again for stuttering. Ladies do not stutter, my mother's voice replays in my head. I catch a glimpse of dark tufts of hair sprawling down his neck to his chest as he leans against the counter.
"Aye, you're here with Clara hm?" I look back over at Clara, who is in a deep discussion with the older man. I muster a nod as I look back at the man next to me. "I haven't seen ya here before. Would've remembered a face like yours." I find myself reddening as he winks boldly at me.
"I-I...no, I haven't. I'm Y/N." I gulp as he extends his arm to me. Never allow a commoner to touch you, mother says. Throwing caution to the wind, I take his hand hesitantly and he pulls mine in for a soft kiss. The bristles of his beard brush against my skin as his lips touch my knuckles gently. I almost forget to breathe for the moments that follow. Our hands disconnect and I carefully put my arm to the side as the area he touched remains tingling.
"Johnny." He smiles brightly at me. "Johnny Mactavish. It's a pleasure to meet ya bonnie." I smile back at him widely, my cheeks red as he stares back at me. We stand silently for a few moments before Clara walks over and grabs my arm.
"Ready, Lady Y/N?" I'm snapped away from his blue eyes as I look over at Clara next to me. I nod, wiping at my cheeks as if I can remove the blush with only my hands. She smiles over at the man next to me--Johnny.
"Safe travels, ladies." Johnny waves at the both of us, focusing his attention longer on me as he sends me a second wink. Clara walks us out of the shop and I feel almost empty as we leave--as if my soul just found a missing piece of it and is now being ripped away. I smile softly to myself as Clara and I travel back home, unable to fully immerse myself in her chatter as we walk together. Later that night, I catch myself dreaming in a sea of blue as I trace a finger over the skin of my knuckles that he kissed.

This is the dress that I imagine for the beginning ^^^

The Night Raven Circus AU
"Come one, come all, to the most daring show in all of Twisted Wonderland! Witness spectacles beyond your imagination. Death Defying Aerial dances. Beasts from Hell tamed. Creatures from the depths. Dolls given life and fires run wild. I, Dire Crowley, will be your host this evening. Welcome the Night Raven Circus!"
✨🎪✨
The Night Raven Circus is a famous show that travels all over Twisted Wonderland. With it's Whimsical and Gothic aesthetic, to it's large cast of performers and attractions, it has always stood out over the years and has earned its excellent reputation. And, befitting it's name, the circus is only open at night.
The Ring Leader, Dire Crowley, had hired the best performers he can find. From Lilia, the best swordsman around, known for his sword swallowing an knife throwing tricks and his son Silver who is also learning the act. The fire breather Malleus. Who due to his draconic heritage is able to command fire and control it, leading to a thrilling act that scares and excites the audience. Jamil the talented hypnotist that calls audience members to take part. Along with many more.
The newest addition to the cast being Isabelle, a Beast Tamer. But instead of working with your average circus animals, she tames monsters. Griffins, Hellhounds, and of course, Grim, a feline creature that can go from a kitten to a large fire maned beast.
Other recent additions to the performance lineup being Dires daughter, Darling. Where she controls her hand crafted and life like dolls to perform for the audience. And Dreary, who has a tent she tells fortunes out of. Though most of her predictions are fake, and all her real visions are only bad things to come.
However, with all the fame of the circus, comes those seeking to topple it. The rival Playfulland Circus is run by a man known as the Coachman. The inner workings of their business being shady at best. Whenever they happen to be in the same area as The Night Raven circus, little things tend to go wrong. A wardrobe malfunctions, a prop or two going missing. Giddel has even been caught sneaking around now and then and promptly scolded. However, lately things star to escalate. Equipment is being damaged, costumed shredded. Isabelle has found the cages of her beasts unlocked when she knows for a fact it was closed.
However things take a turn for the deadly when Clara, an aerial dancer, was performing when the rope holding up the hoop she was hanging from snapped and she fell. She walked away with only a few injuries, but now Dire was enraged and needed to find a way to get back at the Playfulland circus for this.
With Darling taking over the slot that was for Claras routine, the rival circus is now keeping a new eye on the new talent to see what else they can sabotage or even copy.
Au thought I talked with @marrondrawsalot (The owner of oc Darling Crowley) about.
@mangacupcake @writing-heiress @the-weirdos-mind
Feel free to add what your characters might be doing in the circus or as audience members. Or even which circus they're apart of.

Unexpectedly Yours: Part 7
Fandom: Ted Lasso (Regency AU)
Pairing: Roy Kent x F!Reader
Summary: Lord Roy Kent still has yet to marry. He hates the notion that marriage is a way to ensure your status in society. You have delayed your debut to society for years because of the same idea. So what happens when two people who hate the idea of marriage are constantly drawn to each other?
Series Masterlist
It had been a week since Roy had seen you with Goodman and he couldn't stop thinking about you; how you smiled at him, laughed with him...it caused a deep pain in Roy. One that didn't seem to ease.
The following week, Roy, Clara, and Phoebe were having breakfast. Clara's ladies maid brought in the letters as well as a new paper that's been circling around the city, specifically among many women's circles. The latest gossip about Richmond's own people was being publicized, causing a stir among the city's residents.
Clara, usually not into gossip, suddenly found it to be her guilty pleasure every morning. Setting the letters for Roy aside, she immediately opens up The Richmond Rag. Her eyes skim the page and she immediately gasps, tossing the paper at Roy, "Read this."
"Fucking hell," he mumbles, wiping his mouth and picking up the paper, "I don't care about gossip."
"You'll care about it today. Read it," Clara presses her brother, pointing at the paper.
Roy sighs and he reads the paper. Clara watches her brother in anticipation.
Dear Readers,
It seems we may be hearing wedding bells by the end of the season. My sources tell me that our recently arrived Mister Jeffrey Goodman is looking to court newly debuted Miss Y/N L/N. However, other sources have told me that another is interested in our young debutant. Who, you may ask? None other than our resident viscount, Lord Roy Kent. Now, in my honest opinion, I am not sure how much of a match Lord Kent and Miss L/N is compared to herself and Mister Goodman, but we shall sit in anticipation if Miss L/N will accept Mister Goodman's courtship.
Roy's jaw clenches and he sets the paper aside. Phoebe asks, "What does it say, Uncle Roy?"
"Shut up and eat your food," Roy grumbles.
Clara rolls her eyes, "Roy."
"I don't want to talk about it," he murmurs, going back to his food.
"Maybe you should talk to Y/N and see-"
Roy abruptly stands from his seat, "Fuck this," he says before walking out of the dining room.

Your mother was squealing in delight to see that you and Jeffrey were mentioned in The Richmond Rag, especially the fact that Jeffrey was thinking about officially courting you. You're not sure how you felt about it, honestly. Sure, he's funny and makes great company, but you don't know if you could see yourself falling in love with him, let alone if he'd be a good husband or not. But then again, you don't have many options. You're already much older than many debutants. Many men wanting a younger wife than yourself. You don't have much room to be picky now.
"Mama, isn't that just all gossip? I'm not even sure if Jeffrey is still interested in me. I saw him dancing with other women at the ball last night. He seemed to enjoy their company."
She waves off your skepticism, "It's best to be hopeful. Anyway, we need to pick up your new dress for the next ball." She stands with a sense of urgency, gesturing you to quickly follow her. She then calls for your father who emerges from the kitchen with Cece in tow.
"Yes, my love?"
"Y/N and I will be picking up her dress," your mother answers then she looks at Cece, "Would you like to come along darling?"
"Can I go to Phoebe's?"
"I'm not sure if they're busy today, but we can see," your mother replies and Cece excuses herself to grab one of her dolls.
You smile at your excited cousin, "She acts like she didn't see her two days ago."
"You know how hard it's been since your aunt and uncle's passing," your mother whispers and you nod.
"I'm ready!" Cece rushes back the stairs to you and your mother. Your father escorts the three of you out and to the carriage.
When you arrive to Lord Kent's estate you take a deep breath. You follow your mother and cousin to the door. One of the servants bows to you three and goes to announce your arrival.
A moment later, you hear squealing and Phoebe is rushing towards Cece. She takes Cece's hand and they're immediately off somewhere else in the house.
Clara emerges with a chuckle, "Mrs. L/N, Y/N, wonderful to see you again."
You curtsey, "Good afternoon, Clara. I hope we weren't disturbing any plans you had for the day. We're off to town and Cece asked to pass by."
"Nonsense, Cece is welcome here whenever. You should know that by now." Clara then asks your mother about the plans for the day and as they talk, you feel eyes on you. You look up to see Lord Kent staring down at you. There doesn't seem to be any emotion behind his eyes.
You give a small curtsey and he replies with a curt nod. You two continue to stare at each other until he turns and walks away. You let out deep breath.
"Well, we best be off. We will be back in two hours to pick up Cece."
"Would you like to have lunch with us when you do?"
"That would be delightful. Thank you so much, Clara." your mother says with a beaming smile.
Once back into the carriage you groan, "Why did you accept lunch with them?!"
Your mother scoffs, "Just because you have some animosity towards Lord Kent, doesn't mean we still can't socialize with them. Besides, you'll have to accept that Lord Kent will be in your life seeing how Cece and Phoebe may be attached to the hip forever."
"Lovely," you grumble, slumping against the bench in the carriage.
____________________
At the modiste, you're trying on your dress one last time to make sure it's to your liking. You give a little spin on the raised platform then look at yourself in the mirror, "I think this is my new favorite dress, Charlotte!"
The older woman clapped her hands together, "Thank you, miss! I'm honored that you love it as much as I do!"
Your mother nods, "Yes, I think this color suits-"
The bell above the door rings and you all turn to see Lord Kent standing there with a surprised expression on his face.
He cleared his throat and gives a nod, "Ladies, pardon me. I didn't mean to intrude."
Charlotte moves to stand before him, "Hello, Lord Kent! How may I help you?"
He doesn't answer because his eyes are on you. You know this, you can feel him looking at you, but you try not to give him any mind. Rather, you look at yourself in the mirror making sure the dress is flattering in all angles.
Your mother smirks and speaks up, "Lord Kent! Wonderful, I think a man's perspective would be helpful," she loops her arm around his and tugs him closer to you, "Tell me, do you think this dress is flattering for my daughter? I've heard that it's Mister Goodman's favorite color."
You're mentally cursing your mother at this moment.
"Yes, it suits her well, but not as well as pink, ma'am."
"Pink, my Lord?"
"It brings out the color of her eyes," he says this and it causes you to look at him through the reflection of the mirror. He's doing it again, staring at you, but this time, emotion in his eyes. Unlike before. There's something there you can't quite read.
"Hmm...I suppose that will be the color of the next dress we'll request. Anyway, dear, did you need Charlotte's help?"
He breaks his gaze away from you and turns to the dressmaker, "Yes, sorry. My sister would like the same style dress as she previously ordered, but in navy blue."
Charlotte is writing down Clara's request, "Yes, I have a few fabrics of that color. If you could please tell your sister to come by to pick out which fabric she prefers, that would be most helpful, my Lord."
"Of course," he nods to you three, "Enjoy the rest of your day, ladies."
With that, he exits the shop and you frown at your mother, "Stop it."
"I didn't do anything."
"You and I both know that's a lie. If he was interested, he would've done something by now. He hasn't. There's no chance of us being together, so, please, mother, let it go." you step down from the platform and move to the back of the room to change out of your dress.
_____________________
Two days later, you're at a ball hosted by the Bartletts. Their own daughter, Eliza, had debuted as well and she's gotten many men interested for her hand already.
So far, you have two names on your dance card, Jamie and Jeffrey. Jamie's name once, and Jeffrey's twice. You're not too bothered by it. All of the attention is and should be on Eliza tonight.
"Jeff and I could always fill up your dance card," Jamie says as he sees you glance at your dance card.
You shake your head with a snort, "No, it's okay. It's best I stay in the shadows. If the author of The Richmond Rag sees me dancing with you two too much, I'm sure I'll end up being mentioned in their next publication."
Jeffrey smirks, "So you've read what they've said about us?"
"Not necessarily. I don't care for the gossip too much, but my mother does. She tells me about it."
"So what are your thoughts on our potential co-"
"Miss Y/N," Jeffrey is interrupted by Lord Kent.
"Lord Kent, good evening," you curtsey and Keeley follows. Jamie just nods, but Jeffrey bows.
"May I add my name to your card?" he gestures to the slip of paper on your wrist.
"O-Oh, um, if you'd like," you hand him the card and pencil. He scribbles his name and hands it back to you. He walks away without another word.
Before you can even look at the card, Keeley snatches it from your hand.
"Keeley!" you try to grab it from her but Jamie stands between you and her, "What is it, love?" Jamie asks.
Keeley smirks and hands him the card, "Lord Kent wrote his name down on the rest of the spots."
"What?!" you push Jamie to the side and grab the card, looking down at it, "Oh that bas-"
"So much for staying in the shadows. That'll guarantee your name in the Rag for sure," Jamie says with a snicker.
Jeffrey looks displeased and annoyed, "Are you really going to dance with him the entire time?"
"I-wouldn't it be rude if I didn't?"
Jeffrey frowns, "I thought you didn't like him."
"We're not very...amicable, but I'd say I...tolerate him?"
"Hm," Jeffrey doesn't seem to like your answer and excuses himself for a drink.
Jamie whistles, "He don't look too happy, darling."
For the first dance, Jeffrey doesn't appear to dance with you, so you just don't dance. The next dance, Jamie does his best to keep you cheerful. The next dance, Jeffrey still doesn't make his presence known to you. When it's time for the waltz, Lord Kent appears, his palm stretched out to you.
You take it as he leads you to the middle of the room. In your peripherals, you see Jeffrey bringing another woman to the floor. Your jaw clenches and you look away. Lord Kent, seeing this, scoffs and murmurs, "Prick."
You shake your head and look at Lord Kent, "It's your fault you know, putting yourself down on the remainder of my dance card."
"It didn't seem like anyone else was going to put their name down."
You scoff, "So what, you did it out of pity? I don't need your pity or sympathy from you, my Lord." You don't care that you were in the middle of a dance, you promptly turn your back and walk straight out of that ballroom, cursing Lord Kent's name.

all pjsk boys with a reader who collect dolls?
please and thank you! :)
(i havent reqested anything before so i dont know how to do this)
Of course! And don't worry, you did great <3 I'm sorry for making it so short but I just didn't really wanted to force it so... I left it like this... but well I hope you'll like it either way! ^^
Don't ask me how Toya part turned to be medium length and others are short...
♡˗ˏ✎*ೃ˚ 𝔻𝕠𝕝𝕝 𝕔𝕠𝕝𝕝𝕖𝕔𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟 ₊˚ˑ༄
*ੈ✩‧₊˚ Akito, Toya, Tsukasa, Rui with a doll collector!reader
*ੈ✩‧₊˚ fluff, can be read as platonic too
*ੈ✩‧₊˚ @bleachtheidiot @badwhole @yulikesminori @miya-akane @toyaswif3y @toyaslove @bl4cktourmaline @alicewinterway18 @indi-has-fallen
✧ Akito for one is scared for life because of your dolls
✧ since he came inside your room, he always suggested his place or any cafe, or anything else as your meeting place
✧ obviously tho, he couldn't do it together... so when he comes over to you, you can see him looking everywhere, it's like he's counting dolls over and over to make sure none disappeared
✧ he watched a horror movie once or twice and it just sticked to him
✧ but of course when you point out his paranoid behavior, he'll hardly disagree and pretend like he's just watching what kind of dolls you have so he won't get you a double
✧ so now he has no choice but actually get you a doll...
✧ he becomes a bit used to them but he's still not the most fond of them and will definitely never be, but he can try to tolerate them more or less for now...
"What?! Me?! Never! I was just... checking what type of dolls to look for... your birthday gift."
﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌
✧ somehow Toya was immidietly interested in them, even if you collect dolls that look as if they're straight out of horror movie
✧ he even asked you to introduce him to all of them and if he can have a closer look
✧ he'll respect it if you tell him, he can't as he's aware you may not want your collection to get damaged
✧ but if you let him, you can literally see this boy playing with dolls and he's not harsh with them! He almost hold them like a baby as if he was afraid of hurting them a single bit
✧ and if your dolls have names or even "personalities", "interests" and so on, he'd be more than happy to hear about them!
✧ but the best part is when you get a new doll, it's like you get them for both of you because his eyes immidietly sparkle and he'll be in heaven if you let him name one
✧ unfortunately, he doesn't have matching dolls or anything like that with you since he's sure his dad will react negatively at him having those kind of "toys"
"What a cutie... I fee like her name could be Annabelle! ... Huh? Why not?"
﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌
✧ the first time Tsukasa walked into your room, he literally got jumpscared by all the dolls in your house
✧ I feel like he'd get reminded of the horror movies and be really spooked by your collection
✧ but he gets used to it eventually and even starts liking them
✧ soon, he starts even talking to them! Buts it's not weird, it's cute how he's so polite even with dolls
✧ now he knows what to buy you for gifts! It could be a doll or new outfit for your current ones~
✧ if you gave him a doll once, you can be sure he'll keep it safely on a shelf
✧ I feel like his sister would also like dolls so it'd just be that first impression that'd surprise him or maybe she cannonly does and I just don't remember the event
"Welcome Miss Elizabeth, your hair is lovely! Oh Miss Clara, is that a new dress? Haha! Your dolls are as lovely as always Y/N!"

The Pathologic Russian and English analysis: Clara Saburova the Changeling Part 2
I am finally free to have a single month of summer vacation, so I'm taking this opportunity to finish up the last of the healer to healer communication analysis. Are you excited? I sure am.
As the Haruspex: I uhhh… Don’t have much to say specifically about the differences between Clara in Russian and English that I haven’t already said. Like yeah, she acts differently with Artemy than she does with Daniil, but that is present in both of the versions - she is much more vulnerable and emotive with Burakh, while she is a lot more deceitful with Dankovsky (which is sorta muddled by the fact that he’s the only one of the two to meet her "twin"). She refers to Artemy using exclusively the informal “you” and has a very stubborn and argumentative way of speaking for most of it. The instances of the “biblical” way of speaking that I pointed out in the Bachelor route are less frequent here, and Clara comes across as, well, just a girl. I uh… Also think that the dialogue website I’m using might be missing the bit of dialogue on day 11 when Clara actually offers to help Artemy? It has the dialogue for when he’s already in the Kaiur, but not beforehand (and the wiki tells me that they do talk in person before that. Correct me if I’m wrong). Sooooo yeah, that’s about it. This analysis is a bit more… Explaining the references and intertextualities within the dialogue rather than discussing what translational differences imply, but I think it’d be a cool insight nonetheless. So let’s get started!
This is… Completely unrelated to any translation stuff, but I did want to provide a little bit of intertextual context for “Suok” to allow all the fans that don’t speak Russian to speculate about this on their own. I tried to look up and see if there were any other potential sources for this name, but haven’t been able to find any alternative ones. So here goes. Suok is a last name, which served as inspiration for a character name from the Russian story book “the Three Fat Men” by Yuri Olesha. Very briefly the story is about a town being held under the oppressive rule of the titular three fat men, who had each taken control of one of the town’s resources (that sure reminds me of someone). Suok in this story is a young circus performer, who pretends to be the previously broken doll of Tutti - the Fat Men’s heir. She does so to free one of the leaders of the revolution that has been captured and sentenced to execution. It is revealed in the story that Suok was actually the twin sister of Tutti, which is why the doll looked so like her - it was made to replace her. It’s not the most well known of Russian stories, but it’s recognizable enough for an expat like me to remember. Thematically I do think it’s funny that there’s a reference to a story where three powerful people attempt to squash a revolution (which is by the way led by two men), and a little girl with a twin ends up saving one of those revolutionaries from certain death. And the doll theming. However, if I’m just ignorant and there’s actually like… A Buryat or Mongolian name or entity that’s also called Suok and it’s actually a reference to that… I shall wear a dunce cap, or something, Idk.
I really wish that I could convey how… Story-like Clara’s way of speaking becomes here? Like, yeah, she does talk somewhat… “biblically” but this is not that. She’s not just reciting the events, the way the story is phrased and the language flows feels like she’s restating it word for word. Especially in the part where Clara talks about how Suok was unkillable by anything - it’s all one continuous sentence. It reminds me of, and this is truly truly obscure Russian stuff, that one cartoon about Kutkh the Raven and the four silly mice that kept annoying the life out of him (it’s on Youtube I believe, so go educate yourself on some fairytales from Kamchatka). Those stories have a way of being both lyrical and conversational at the same time - it uses improper grammar (like starting your sentence with “and”) and feels very casual in its sentence structure, but the words it chooses and the matter it discusses is grandiose and epic (in the literary sense). Also a fun little detail is that rather than saying that the abyss couldn’t claim Suok, Clara says that she “did not wish to return to the abyss.”
Adding to my collection of “Clara and Artemy are a comedic duo, actually” is this moment in which (while the English version makes it sounds a little ironic and cautious) Artemy just casually goes “wow, that’s just like us…” as Clara is telling him the Kin’s creation myth. Though you can’t tell me that he wouldn’t be the kind of person that looks at a Bosch painting and goes “that’s so me.”
More from the “fun Russian idioms” world…While we do have a translation of “a little bird told me” in Russian - it is exactly that - a translation. From English actually. The idiom used here is, as far as I know, an originally Russian one. Namely “a dog barks, the wind carries it” which is essentially just “yeah it’s gossip I heard on the street.” Nothing particularly significant about this difference, just thought y’all would appreciate it.
At this point I’m becoming painfully aware of the fact that calling these an analysis of a specific character is silly, because there’s always two people involved in the conversation, but the format has been set already sooo… I could wax poetic about how much more laconic Russian is in terms of threats (partially due to the fact that we don’t use articles and stuff) but also I can’t help but feel like this was much easily translatable? Like, the line is, essentially “let’s hope you don’t regret this!” which is very much a threat already. But I guess the translating team decided to take the road less travelled.
I think I may have peaked. It doesn’t get better from here, this is the ultimate achievement of this analysis. In the last instalment of the madness project I spent a whole paragraph trying to explain why the Bachelor calling Clara “trash” was actually a scathing, humiliating insult that was translated as “little tramp” for no apparent reason, which made it seem (at least to me) a lot less cutting. I’d ask you to look at that screenshot in the previous analysis to see if you spot anything familiar, but I don’t even have an exclusive tag for this madness project (I totally should tho) and I won’t subject you to the other stuff I’ve written in my ramblings. I’ll just cut the suspense here: In this dialogue Artemy uses the exact same word that was translated as “tramp” for Daniil. The word “дрянь” (dryan’), meaning trash or something too worn out and torn to be useful. I understand this must’ve been done because the Bachelor and the Haruspex are supposed to have very different vibes about them and because, as previously stated, the Bachelor doesn’t get to be nearly as aggressive as he is in Russian but like… Wow. I think I need this in a meme format or something, because it’s just so funny to me. To clarify, too: “дрянь” isn’t an explicit swear word. It’s an insult, but it doesn’t need to be censored or anything. Neither “tramp” nor “bitch” fits the translation more or less. And I think that’s hilarious that they translated it so differently for the two characters.
And we’re back in the realm of “interesting” instead of “baffling” and “confusing”. Instead of “dying” or “letting people die” the two of them specifically talk about “killing”. Artemy asks if Clara wants to kill Taya, making the situation a lot more malicious from Clara’s perspective (this is the whole quest with figuring out how the story that Clara started telling Taya ends). Pretty short for a note, but it’s also just interesting in terms of like… How malice is attributed to Clara in the Russian version, but seems impersonal in the English version.
Just as fascinating (and probably just as short of a note) is this line, where in Russian Artemy calls Clara “daughter” with a diminutive. A lot of Russian words have diminutives, but it doesn’t necessarily make them appear kinder. Actually with words like “daughter”, the non-diminutive version – “дочь” (doch’) – is used a lot less and usually feels colder and more distant. The version with the diminutive – “дочка” (doch’ka) is the one used in everyday conversations. If you want to add endearment to the word, you’d have to put in another diminutive, making the word “доченька” (dochen’ka). That being said, I guess calling someone who isn’t related to you “son” or “daughter” isn’t too uncommon (though I usually picture it being said by like… grandmas on a bench, or helpful fairytale entities), though your everyday person is much more likely to just say “girl”, “boy”, or “kid”.
Not a translation difference, but I’ve already included a bunch of intertextual references in this particular analysis, so why not one more, huh? The story that Clara tells about the crystal flower, while obviously being an allusion to the town and the polyhedron, specifically referring to the utopian ending (cutting down the living flowers instead of the crystal flower -> razing the town and leaving the tower to stand) also reminds me of a specific story within the “Malachite Box” collection of the fairytales by Pavel Bazhov (check them out if you can, it’s a bunch of folk tales from the Ural mountains and they’re fascinating and incredibly dark). Specifically “the Stone Flower” - a story following Danila - an orphan boy that becomes a master-stone carver, but struggles to finish an order that doesn’t fit his own particular standards. He is told of the Stone Flower in the lair of the Mistress of the Copper Mountain (a force of nature entity that’s recurring in the “malachite box”) and how seeing it will allow someone to understand the stone and how to carve it. However he is warned that all who’ve seen it have always remained in the mountain, working for the Mistress of the Copper Mountain. Danila does, indeed, manage to see the stone flower and return to his bride, but what only manages to stay for so long before he destroys almost every single one of his creations and disappears without a trace. It’s left up for debate whether he simply went mad and perished in the woods, or if he returned to the Copper Mountain. I do think there are some parallels to be drawn between this story and Pathologic’s polyhedron – specifically in how it relates to Peter Stamatin. Not a one to one comparison, of course, but there’s something to be said there about the madness that comes with creating or trying to create something bigger than yourself, to the point where it’s less of the human world and more of the world of miracles and myth.
Not a particularly drastic difference here, but just wanted to point out that the whole “your lies are so crafty…” bit of this dialogue isn’t… actually present in the Russian version? I think the translating team kinda got used to the fact that this dialogue is almost the same as when Daniil talks to Clara, so they’ve added in this line even though Artemy just says “I’m fed up with you”.
To sum it up: yeah, I don’t have much. Clara is a fascinating character to me, but I do think that she is fascinating in both English and Russian. She’s a multitude of contradictory things, and she is condemned by those around her for either not fitting into the category they believe her to belong to, or being exactly what they believe her to be. She doesn’t get a break. Most of the differences between English and Russian have been just slightly “vibe altering” ones, and it’s a bit difficult to place a finger on the reasons why those changes I made. Like, with Daniil I could generalise that in an attempt to make him seem cold and detached, he accidentally lost a lot of his emotiveness. I have made the argument that Clara’s Russian dialogue makes her come across as more meta-aware (and there’s something to be said about how I argued that Clara and Aglaya are very idealistically opposed about the exact same belief and how that notion is echoed in Clara’s dialogue with Artemy) but at the end of the day… Yeah, the translators did a pretty good job with this one. I’ve said before that it’s not really a good idea to have every piece of dialogue include a footnote explaining what every word means (at least in a game like Pathologic. A game focused on education would be soooo fun with those. Like Martial Law, for example) but to add to that: I think it’s pretty cool that Ice Pick Lodge managed to create a game that is so distinctly Russian, that even a city boy like me can understand, despite taking place in the steppe. And at the same time, you don’t have to be Russian to understand it. I’ve provided a bit of intertextual context here, but you don’t actually need it to feel and understand what makes it so compelling, as seen by the fact that this game is beloved both in and outside of Russia. And I love that for all of us.
And that is it, folks, at least for the three healers and how they interact with each other. Up next (and hopefully not several months later) I'm gonna examine the shared dialogue that the healers have with the townsfolk. I guess that one will be both comparing the similarities and differences between the languages and between the three of them. Yippeee.

After a confusing conversation with the newly-enpersoned, surprisingly verbal Clara Dolls, post-Rebellion Madoka comes to the conclusion that Homura is fixated on her because Madoka resembles "Ai," her actual lost love / some kind of almighty deity counterpart to the devil, who disappeared from the world under mysterious circumstances. Missing their memories and uncertain of the new system's rules, but aware that this "Madoka" girl has a deep connection to their enemy and also seems appallingly normal, the rest of the Holy Quintet are fairly easily convinced of this, and begin fighting under that premise.
This raises the possibility of Madoka getting jealous of... herself.
"I know you must miss Ai-san terribly, Akemi-san, but I don't want to see you hurting yourself like this. I... I know I can't be someone like that, no matter how hard I try, but I can at least try to help you, so –"
"I'm sorry, Ai who?"

Walpurgis no Kaiten Trailer #2 Breakdown
Aniplex dropped a 35-second trailer with new footage from Walpurgis no Kaiten, so let's take a look and see what we got!
Homura falls backwards in a stained glass cylinder that contains a spiraling staircase (we'll see the whole thing in a later shot). Note that this is the doppelganger because of her headband, and that the glass has Homura's distinctive diamond sigil on it, among other things.
We finally get our dance scene--not a pas de deux, but a waltz! Headband!Homura spins Madoka around, leading the action, and she appears to have taken Madoka by surprise. Note that waltzes also involve going in a circle.
I've talked before about how the doppelganger appears to be courting Madoka in the first trailer and how I think a Swan Lake-style "choice" might be forthcoming, so add this to the evidence pile. Madoka's voice over, "I will go with hope," also seems to suggest a choice.
I'm not sure where this is located, but I think it might be Madoka's house? A house, anyway. There are photos on the walls and chairs.
Doppelganger Homura is down so bad, y'all. And can you blame her? Also NOTE HER EYE COLOR HERE, HER EYES ARE RED, not brown (key visual) or purple (original Homura). Eyes are the window to the soul...
(Red eyes automatically make me think "Incubator", but I'm withholding judgement on that until we get more info.)
HELLO VISUAL METAPHOR!! Okay, so first off, we have a fan spinning in a circle, a cross-quartered circle with a closed eye at the center (!!!) surrounded by taped cardboard holding together a box marked with the emblems of "fragile, handle with care". I feel like that one speaks for itself.
(What do you want to bet that that eye opens.... EVERYTHING IN THIS WORLD IS SPYING ON YOU.)
Continuing the eye focus, here's a close-up on one of the Clara Dolls holding up a magnifying glass to enlarge their own eye. This is Ibari (Pride). Note the yellow flowers around the lower part of the glass and that Ibari's eyelash is similar in size and shape to the one on the box fan in the previous shot.
My guess is that the Clara Doll's role in this story is primarily as a group/decoration/background element rather than full characters in their own right (the chorus witnessing the action in a theater production, as it were), but I love how this shot turned out and would be happy to see more like this.
Doppelganger Homura (?) examines her reflection in a compact mirror. She has the headband, but her eyes are purple here, like the original. I think she's adjusting her appearance here--literally, if she can shapeshift--to match the original, especially since she's also missing the dark collar that characterized the doppelganger in the key visual. Note sure what is going on with her headband when I look more closely--it seems to stick out from one side of her head and doesn't lie flat??
The scallop shape and the "Dummee Venus" inscription are a little too on the nose in my opinion... Venus being the goddess of love and beauty who was born out of seafoam on a scallop shell. [Is there a Botticelli reference in the house? TBD!!]
I suppose this could be the original Homura here, but the context makes more sense for the doppelganger. Again, note the round/circle, and mirror imagery and focus on the eyes.
EDIT: I was wrong, "Dumme" is German for "fool", not a misspelling of the English "dummy", so this could be the original Homura after all. Although Walpurgisnacht is also a fool, so... I guess we'll see with more context, but I'm leaning towards Original Flavor Homura for now.
View of the spiral staircase from above... a circle combined with a straight line makes a spiral. Note that the surrounding glass has Walpurgisnacht's signature motif of "peacock tails", suggesting a connection between the doppelganger Homura and Walpurgisnacht, and that Walpurgisnacht herself appears as a circle on radar.
The staircase abruptly cutting off and going nowhere also seems like a metaphor, huh.
Balloons going free, compare to a similar shot in Rebellion where they are trapped in a glass dome where Kyouko and Homura have lunch (more on this in a bit). Boundaries and prisons are breaking down, magical girls/witches cannot be contained any longer.
"Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?" Devil Homura is torn down and overthrown. Interesting that one stocking is red-striped (or is that a ribbon wrapped around her from someone else) and the other is pure white--but with a black bow around the ankle.
Madoka enjoys a nice date with...??
(Note: this shot is in a different place from the one that immediately follows; I believe the two are deliberately juxtaposed to be misleading. More on this in a bit.)
God, I love this shot. Half a glass (glass half full, even) with their surroundings in miniature, and the glass is cracked and held together by threads of gold (kintsugi). The ring makes her a magical girl, the outfit is a Mitakihara middle school uniform, and her hair is green, so this is someone new.
also the diamond-shaped placemats juxtaposed with the circular saucer.
Hi, new character!! I have so many questions, but it looks like they really are in a teacup, or at least a different teacup--the old glass dome from Rebellion (or someplace similar) is full of trees and also flooded and now home to water lilies and lily pads.
Nagisa is spending quality time in the ball pit (insert DashCon meme here). And so is this new girl... my guess is human!Charlotte, but I don't have any evidence about that besides vibes and the way these two shots mirror each other.
I love this shot so much! Not sure what's going on, but there's Sayaka in her magical girl costume at the bottom.
Based on the similar backgrounds in these two shots, Madoka is either having tea with Mami or tea with someone else in the same space. Cake and dessert and birthday themes, a la Charlotte's labyrinth.
Feather pillows exploding on a modernist couch.
Kyouko on a pillar/table eating a piece of cake. Cranes and cityscape in the background at night.
Runes and the pages of a book. Witches coming out of a book? Or... something else? (see below)
Flash shot of Sayaka bandaged in a theater.
And here's Kyubey! On the shoulder of the pigtailed girl last seen with Nagisa, wearing the dark collar of the evil!/mirrorverse Mitakihara Middle School like the doppelganger in the key visual. Her eyes are hidden by her bangs and she's smiling. Piloe of books/records (alternate universes, if Magia Record imagery is anything to go by).
Whatever's happening, Kyubey is so in on it, lol.
The salamander representing Homura's dark orb (powers) is stabbed with some kind of metal, near a tea cup, causing it to disappear and explode. It then transforms into a shackle. That's probably not good.
(Whose arm, though? Homura is the most likely suspect, but we'll see.)
White feathers ascending to heaven, a circular vortex made of clouds and shining light, spinning, spiraling...
One of which is a mixture of black and white. This feels very significant, given my earlier predictions about "confronting one's opposite" and "people are neither nor good nor bad but a mix a both" being major themes.
Anyway, I'm sure I'll have more thoughts later, but that's my quick off-the-cuff reactions for now!

hello my fellow madoka enjoyers, i haven't posted about this show in a good few years but the trailer for the new film has me feeling delusional so i'm here to share some thoughts: i think this "false homura" is walpurgisnacht. (read more for theory crafting).
so the "homura is actually walpurgisnacht" idea has been floating around since the original season was airing -- rebellion discredited it quite a bit! the very existence of homulily makes things feels muddled. but hear me out, because this trailer tosses us a lot of bones (nevermind the literal title involving her name). first thing's first, we have two of homura in this trailer, and in the poster:
homura facing the viewer and smiling is who i'm going to call "false homura", and the one with her back to us is what i assume to be "normal" homura. technically homucifer. madoka is seemingly just madoka in the background, but interestingly, she is wearing her outfit from the concept film! i'll come back to this later because it's relevant; let's talk about false homu.
immediately we're greeted with this behind her, which is the tarot card 'XVIII' -- the moon. "the moon is a card of illusion and deception, and therefore often suggests a time when something is not as it appears to be." deception, fear, hidden things & confusion.
this outfit bares a lot of resemblence to walpurgisnacht. the large, ruffled dress. the mid section. the long bell sleeves with white at the ends... it's not subtle. the silhoutte is very apparent, even more so during this shot later:
^ worth noting that false homura's umbrella has the same, ruffled material as well. and her uniform is different! it seems to be an amalgamation of other school uniforms we see in the show.
walpurgisnacht is described as "the stage-constructing witch"...
... "it's nature is helplessness. it symbolizes the fool who continuously spins in circles. the witch's mysteries have been handed down through the course of history; its appellation is "walpurgisnacht." it will continue to rotate aimlessly throughout the world until it completely changes the whole of this age into a drama."
other descriptions of walpurgisnacht talk a lot about this "stage play", and how it is the ultimate end goal:
"she will flood the earth with magic, and take all of humankind into her play. a moving stage construction. if everything is a play, no unhappy things will exist. it may be a tragedy, but it'll all be part of the script. the play stops on walpurgisnacht, and the earth does not turn even once more. the story will not change. tomorrow, and the day after, is the night of walpurgis."
reading this with a rebellion pov is interesting -- after all, homura did exactly this. she rewrote the world, and everything is "happy" now for madoka, so she thinks. the earth does not turn even once more.
interesting that she drops this line at the end of this new trailer:
i also want to point out that the clara dolls we see in the trailer are not homura's usual clara dolls:
these designs are different & match none of the existing clara dolls. they're also missing the blue eyes they had in rebellion. the lower one in this image seems to have a tail of sorts? maybe a salamander tail..?
there was, however, one missing clara doll in rebellion... the 15th, known as "love".
i wonder if love will show up in this movie... (or if it's already here).
taking a small detour from false homura, there's another character in this trailer that's unaccounted for, and that's this girl who seems to be a mix of madoka and homura:
the bow homura uses at the end of the original show.
madoka's hair ribbons and back bow.
homura's skirt and diamond designs.
madoka's heels and puff sleeves.
her entire design is just. them. even the hair color is what you get when you mix madoka and homura's... so who is she? i keep thinking back to how walpurgisnacht is described as an "amalgamation" of other witches & magical girls... hm hm.
when madoka was having it's initial run, one of the series' designers, inucurry, said that "walpurgisnacht and kriemhild gretchen (madoka's witch) are meant to have pairing sillhouettes." when placed together, they form an hourglass -- or a sand timer. food for thought.
& back to the concept film real quick, because i said i'd mention: though it lacks any context, in the film, madoka is talking to some "fairies":
though we're never told what these fairies are, they reminded me a lot of walpurgisnacht's familiars:
i have to wonder if maybe these familiars and the clara dolls have any similarities...
anyways, there's a lot to unpack! lots to think about! it's very clear that walpurgisnacht and homura are linked, but to what extend we'll have to wait and see... though, one last thing about false homura: she is smiling every time we see her.
you wanna know who else is always smiling?
#puella magi madoka magica#walpurgisnacht rising#pmmm#madoka#well mutuals you may be thinking “ame never posts on this blog”#and to that i'm like “yea i don't” but if i didn't get this out i was going to combust. ten years later and we're back baby

✩ WEEKLY FIC ROUND-UP ✩
All the fics I’ve read and really enjoyed in the past week-ish. Reminder: This list features any and all ratings and themes.
Percy Jackson
Stars on the Water by liketolaugh
"I dunno, I just think it would make a lot of things easier for a lot of people," Percy said to Thalia, when she just stared at him. His cheek rested in his hand, a rare pensive look leaving his eyes distant and unfocused. "Mom has Paul now, so it’ll be easier on her if she doesn’t have to worry about me mucking things up. Dad won’t have to keep threatening war every time Zeus gets his toga twisted. The prophecy’s done, so I won’t be bringing it down on Nico. And no one will have to worry about me blowing up another volcano."
On Heists and Home Economics by chellethewriter
Over the last few days, Annabeth has spent a great deal of time imagining what was stolen, what could cause Percy and the Stolls so much antagonism and strife. She imagined valuables and prized possessions and even—thanks to Malcolm—something as ridiculous as an engagement ring.
But never, not once, had she considered the possibility of a baby doll.
Because who in Hades would?
“That wasn’t just some children’s toy!”
And Annabeth can feel it. She can feel Percy's rage bursting forth with his words—a pressure that whips through the pavilion like the briny wind of a sea storm. It's something primal, she thinks. Something desperate. So when Percy rises to his feet, climbing and cresting like a tidal wave, Annabeth doesn't blame the Stolls for shrinking toward the floor. If she didn't know Percy so well, she would do the same.
“That doll,” Percy grits out, “is worth fifty percent of my Home Economics grade!"
Of Storms and Bloodlines by inkncoffee
When people thought of Poseidon they thought of the sea; Poseidon, Lord of the Seas, Commander of the Waves, the Stormbringer. Upon consideration they would add Earthshaker, for catastrophic events such as earthquakes were hard to forget. Few remembered, however, that Poseidon was also Lord of the Horses. Stormbringer and Earthshaker tended to squeeze that one out.
Percy had been able to talk to horses for as long as he could remember. He liked to think he understood them. Although he's not entirely sure why the new stallion thinks he's its foal.
Poseidon is not jealous that Percy thinks a horse makes a better father figure than himself. At all.
Not By Design by inkncoffee
Being a stepfather was hard enough even when your new stepson wasn't the greatest demigod of his time.
Paul's journey from that guy dating Sally to being Percy's father.

A Spoonful of Sugar by silvershadowkit.
The stress of living in the Netherworld finally causes Iruma to succumb to the worse of human conditions: the common cold. How do his friends and family react in this moment of crisis?

But they somehow miss the fact that Iruma is doing just fine without his previous family, and he's enjoying his new one very much.
Just a Bit Warmer by Creativitee
Iruma gets himself, quite literally, stuck in a bad situation. He calls on his familiar somewhat accidentally for a little bit of help.
Kalego is more than displeased at the situation to say the least, until he realizes it may be just a bit more dire than first glance shows.

Spoilers of Natsuyuu Ch.125
Not a summary, just something I think interesting (and important).
Spoilers under cut.
Maybe it's just me but I think Tanuma's eye here is kind of different.
Morio, Nakatomi family's adopted son. He wanted to help his adoptive parents as much as he could. He wanted to be their real family.
It seems like Tanuma sympathizes with Morio. (He has been working hard to be Natsume's side, too) (Or he's thinking of Natsume who is also adopted)
Miss No.7 says Ban has good eyes.
Ban mentions Tanuma passed out due to anemia, and tells him if he wanted to leave with his tachi, he needed to forget whatever No.7 had said.
That youkai inside mirror disappeared with Ban's presence. But without the youkai, Tanuma finally sees the pattern on the mirror... just like that tea cup he saw when he's younger. (In Ch.100)
Ban: ——! You have strange eyes. The youkai tells him to run. So Tanuma says he is just dizzy due to anemia and takes his leave.
The door leads to Nakatomi family's treasure.
Nakatomi family's treasure. It started to fall apart because it wasn't someone from the Nakatomi family who found it. Even Morio, who was only an adopted son, and not blood related.
Now Shinobu learns Natsume is strong enough to resonate with the collapsing doll.
But, than, something seems to be appearing...
+
Okay, now I believe that this arc is not just for Shinobu reveals herself, but it's also for Tanuma. No matter what he had done, the adopted son of the Nakatomi family cannot become a member of the Nakatomi family, and Tanuma obviously resonates with him (he cannot get close to Natsume no matter how hard he tries). But at the same time, Shinobu seems in the parallel (she is a Matoba even she left the house.)
And...Ban has good eyes. Ban says Tanuma has strange eyes. In Ch.118, Tanuma showed his ability to distinguish between real and fake youkai related tools. Things are getting interesting...
BTW, in ch.123,
I start to believe Clara may be its master...it's too random for it to just came and had a talk with "Black Misa", and Clara is still missing in this chapter.
The reason why Clara wanted to find "Black Misa" may be continued in other arcs.
