In this episode of Where To Next? Brennen dives into the Midtown Global Market in the Phillips Neighborhood of Minneapolis. There Brennen hits up three different restaurants to give you just a taste (pun intended) of what this truly special spot has to offer. From bold spices to comforting flavors, this is only a sliver of the variety packed into this one place. We barely scratched the surface! So if you're ready to watch Brennen try to seem professional while eating some of the tastiest food ever (spoiler: they fail) then buckle up and let's go eat!
Huge thanks to The Midtown Global Market and all the different restaurants that let us come in and talked with us!

The Metro Transit 23 bus returned to George Floyd Square a few weeks ago joining the cars that returned almost 3 years ago. The area was primarily pedestrian only for about a year following Floyd's Chicago Ave murder.

I FOUND A TWO FOOT PUFFBALL MUSHROOM GROWING IN MY YARD! WHEN IT WAS READY I PICKED IT AND LET IT DRY IN MY GARAGE. I ALSO FOUND A SMALLER ONE THAT I CUT UP, BUTTERED AND ATE. IT WAS NOT VERY GOOD. I THINK IT WOULD BE BETTER IF IT WAS BATTERED FIRST.

Hell's Kitchen Minneapolis
Accessibility: 9.5/10 (but that may be my own fault)
Wait Time:
-Getting in: 0 Min (w/reservation)
-Introduction: 5-7 min
-Food: (app: ~6 min/entrée: ~4 min after that)
-Check: ~10 min after done with food
Staff: 10/10
Atmosphere: 10/10
Food: 10/10
Price: $70.34 ($54.57 in gift shop)
------ ------ ------ ------
Hell's Kitchen (not associated w/Gordon Ramsey) is an underground restaurant located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is a 100% employee owned establishment (since 2020) with their 15% service fee (20% for pickup/take-out) going back, in full, to their employees.
They have a wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with a lot of their drink infusions being house-made and their taps from local tapestries.
In the F&Q on their site, they give full instructions on what to do if you are in a wheelchair and need accommodation options. When getting into the building, I had gone in the completely wrong direction, going towards their cafeteria instead of the actual restaurant. This may have been at my own fault, so take the accessibility rating at a grain of salt.
------ ------ ------ ------
So for my drink, I got the non-alcoholic 'Berry & Thyme Spritz'. This drink combined the herbaceous flavors of thyme with the sweeter notes of berry (which berries? I'm not sure.) All topped off with soda water. This drink was delicious with a price of $6.95. Now, some may think that this is a hefty price for a drink, but since this establishment is employee owned, I feel as though the price is justified. 9.7/10
------ ------ ------ ------
I had gone to the restaurant with my mom, so for our appetizer, we got the 'State Fair Cheese Curds' for $9.95. Being from the state of all things cheese, these curds held up against many of the cheese curds I've had before, being served with a sweet and spicy red pepper jelly. The only issue I have with the dish is that there weren't many cheese curds. It was enough for two people but any more than that, and I feel it wouldn't have been enough. 9/10
------ ------ ------ ------
For the main entrée, I got the 'Street Style Tacos' for $12.95 which comes with the choices of chicken tinga or mojo pork and salsa rojo or salsa verde. I got the mojo pork and the salsa verde as my choices, and it was delicious! The tacos themselves were very filling, but I feel like the meat was lacking the lime-herb sauce they advertised the pork to be 'smothered' in, the meat was dry and I had to keep reaching for my drink. The salsa verde was the perfect amount of spicy, and the queso added the smallest kick to the tacos also. 8.8/10
------ ------ ------ ------
After the meal, my mom and I went to the small gift shop located next to the FOH. There, I was able to get a shirt ($19), a mug (14), and two 10-oz jars of their homemade peanut butter ($10 with a BOGO sale) The shirt is amazing quality, the peanut butter being just the right amount of chunky, and the mug having the GREATEST slogan being "Don't F##k It Up!" Which is a nod to their late owner's saying.
------ ------ ------ ------
Overall, Hell's Kitchen is a great place to go to if you want a nice sit-down dining experience. They have a LOT more going on the weekends, so if you want to stop in, I recommend doing it on a weekend instead of a weekday! This place gets a big stamp of approval from me!
