There's no way some fans on twitter are saying Silco deserved to be drowned/murdered because he threw a molotov (at enforcers who were arresting Benzo at a RIOT no less). There's actual wrong doings you can focus on, my goodness, and non were done before the drowning. Doing another RWBY hatedom rant because people seemed to like the last one and I have more to say:

I absolutely despise it when people call Yang selfish and a terrible sister in Volume 9 when it came to Ruby’s struggles with her mental health. I have two main issues.

1. People seem to think that because Yang is Ruby’s big sister then she needs to always be at her beck and call. She can’t disagree with Ruby. She can’t let Ruby do things on her own. She can’t focus on herself or her happiness. She must always be focusing on Ruby. That’s not how relationships, especially sibling ones, work. People seem to think that Yang must sacrifice everything for Ruby and if she is anything less than that then she is a terrible sister. Do people forget how much Yang had given up for Ruby?! She raised her! She sacrificed her life for her! As soon as she was ready to went to go find Ruby in Volume 5 instead of her mom, which she had wanted to do for most of her life! I fully believe that if Raven didn’t have her portal semblance, which made finding/getting to Ruby MUCH easier, Yang would not have bothered. Yang loves her sister so much! But just because she’s a big sister does not mean that she isn’t allowed to struggle or focus on herself.

2. Here’s the big reason. As someone who has had to deal with a VERY similar experience in my life it absolutely infuriates me when people call Yang a terrible person and sister. I won’t go into too much detail because it’s not my place and I’d rather keep the information private but a couple years ago my sister hit a very low point mentally and it got very scary. (She’s doing much better now don’t worry). Here’s something that most people don’t realize when someone very close to you is going through something like Ruby did: You don’t tend to realize how bad it is. I knew that my sister had her struggles, but I genuinely thought she was doing alright. Afterwards I felt like such a terrible person because I wished that I noticed more and wished she had told me what was going on. This is exactly how Yang felt! She knew her sister was struggling, but didn’t realize just how bad Ruby’s mental state had gotten. She would try to comfort Ruby, not realizing that it was making it worse. She wished that Ruby had told her so that she could help her. It’s a really shitty situation to be in. This is on top of the fact that all of team RWBY were in a very stressful situation after having witnessed the fall of Atlas. I don’t think any of them were in great headspace’s, Ruby was just in a much worse place.

Honestly the entirety of Volume 9, in my opinion, was very realistic in its portrayal of mental health issues both as the person struggling with it and as the people around them. These situations are messy, complicated, and are never straightforward. Trying to treat it as anything else really shows that people don’t know what they’re talk about.

Yang is a good sister. She’s not perfect, but guess what? No one is! Remember we as an audience know so much more than the characters do. Just because characters don’t handle a situation perfectly doesn’t mean they’re garbage.

mini-rant on someone's writing//

imagine writing someone who literally kills people (including children and babies) and is an all-around unlikeable person but you as a writer draw the line on them getting cheated on. like yes, cheating is a bad thing obviously and is not supposed to be normalized, but it's just WILD to me that a writer would be okay with children getting murdered by a problematic character they wrote (and the character was explicitly said to not hesitate to do so) but NOT ok with someone making an alternate reality of their character getting cheated on by their partner who said problematic character keeps in a toxic relationship (like honestly, I'd also try to escape from a toxic relationship from a mentally unstable person who feels no remorse about offing kids. I too would write an alternate reality where the poor partner of said dangerous and toxic relationship would be happier away from hell)

idk I just think it's a very weird and concerning thing if that's how a writer presents their priorities

(maybe i'm just weak but honestly it gives me the biggest ick)

blah blah something something about how fandom gravitate towards more individualistic characters because they’re easier to understand compared to community-oriented characters whose character development is very much tied to their culture/nation because understanding a single character is easier to understand than a character AND an entire culture, especially when said culture is based off a marginalized community that exists in real life 🫠 and said fandom is majority WHITE.

This fandom is so ridiculous sometimes.... I urge a lot of you to go back and reread the story and game guidebook, because some of these "takes" have gotten out of hand. I honestly wonder where some of y'all get your evidence from. I'm not going to go into any further elaboration about what I mean, because I don't have the energy to argue with people or lose mutuals over an opinion about an 11 page 1960's story turned to a 1990's point and click game.

I understand the appeal of characters like Zayne who appear cold n aloof but are big softies who care alot. He's a perfect blend of tsun and dere.

Meanwhile Rafayel may seem flirty and playful but one touch and he'll be a gooey puddle in your arms. He's such a babygirl!

I've liked him since Day 1 of playing and that won't change..

See Xavier comes off as a sweetie pookie upon first glance (which he still is!).

But as you play further you realise Xavier is what one calls "Gap Moe" or Gap-saicin in korean? (used for BTS Jimin)..or literally just King of Duality.

For example: a tiny girl with a giant claymore weapon or a beefy man running a small flower shop or a quite gentle person being the strongest fighter in an anime, etc..

Xavier's personality is so dual. He'll let you hold the reigns, thinking you're in control but the next moment he'll do or say something that'll make you realise he's been in charge all along 🤭

And he'll forever be in charge of my heart ♡

y'all just like whomever you want but don't police others like my friend tried..this is a game ffs! not a competition 😆

I thought nothing of it obviously because there wasn't any note attached to it. So I kept it in a corner and started on my work.

Later, HE SENT THE CHOCOLATES!

Told me to go to the reception desk because there's something for me.

HE SENT A CHOCOLATE AND MY FAVORITE COOKIES!!!!!

...........although he still haven't officially asked me out.......

And to that I say yes but ALSO the thing is that he's singing older music and kinda talking like an old person (Which Himiko actually brings up in game when she's like "That's old") and we know that Kaito's grandparents had a big role in his life and possibly even raised him (this is kinda more based on which thing you headcanon) but I just think it's neat that this could kinda be seen as early evidence that Kaito was in there :3
