I remember back in my old Christian Tumblrâ˘ď¸ days, I really liked this one quote by Buddha as I felt it related so well to my life. I innocently decided to reblog it, thinking nothing of it since it was only one post out of HUNDREDS of super Christ centric content. Not too long after, I get a little â¨bingggâ¨in my dm's from a fellow Christian telling me that I wasn't a true believer because I reblogged that one post, and that I was going to hell if I didn't repent. I think about her a lot. I wish she could see me now and be proud of my descent into madness.

My take on whatâs been going on with the fandom regarding Melissa McBride. This will get me blocks Iâm sure but you have to be careful who you trust. Listen to people but donât think they are god. Even actors and showrunners have been known to embellish the truth. I do not believe for a second Melissa is being overrun and underminded. She already left the spinoff once and a lot was put in to getting her back on board. Thatâs not something AMC or Norman/Scott is going to jeopardize again. A lot of talk is going around about a pro Caryl showrunner and rumors of how the men are trying to block that from happening. For one if AMC wanted them theyâll sign them. They have the power over Scott. Another thing is they are not going to refuse to hire someone over their taste in ships. These are professional people who have done this job before.
Keep in mind about who you are getting the information from. If they use the line âyou donât have to believe meâ chances are they arenât being forthcoming. If they become aggressive when you donât believe them chances are they arenât being honest. This seems more about a fandom power play then it does as warning to Carylers to make a movement to AMC.
Iâve seen so much division in the Caryl fandom throughout several platforms. And itâs to much competition that often times makes it unbearable. Thereâs a few âleadersâ who are constantly at odds with each other and fight for their place at fandom Queen. Itâs childish and mean girl behavior.
FYI a true leader is someone who uplifts everyone regardless of how they feel about you. Not a dictatorship which some of you are guilty of. Iâve seen you guys shut down people and try to push them out of the fandom for having the same opinion earlier that you have now. So maybe think on that before you judge next time. None of us are ever 100 percent right all the time.
Some of you really need to let that high school mantra go. I donât believe the ones being the loudest have any true connection to higher ups at AMC or the DD/BOC show. And I donât believe Melissa is being strongholded. She is an EP and has a say in Carolâs story. AMC official accounts are using the Caryl hashtag. Thereâs a lot to look forward to. Sheâs been a part of the show from day one giving input and helping on and off screen even before she was an EP. Melissa was a huge part of season one even without the title. Actors have always raved about how sheâs made them better and the same holds true with this show. So you all need to relax. Melissa is valued.
I can tell you this with certainty the one claiming to have this insider information is the same person who would dm a wide range of accounts that seemed to have information and beg them for whatever information they could. And when she got information she refused to share any. Which is what they are doing now. Talking about a female show runner but will not name names. Put your money where your mouth is if you think you have accurate information. And I will tell you this stalking and dming crew members or production members for a tid bit of information is not a source. Itâs borderline harassment. You know who you are.
Now in closing this person also claimed that if Carylers were loud enough to AMC that the spinoff would not happen. Yes they were going to waste all that money or sets and contracts. Melissa was also already there when they were trying to make this movement lol. Stop acting like they are the Buddha to the Caryl fandom like you have no common sense and canât function without them. There are many strong Caryl fans who donât spread misery on a daily basis you can talk to. To calm your fears or just to talk about happier things to look forward to. These so called leaders seek out emotional people that they can control who are looking for guidance. This was once the greatest fandom in the land and could be again if we would break ties with the ones holding us down. So just think about that before being sucked down with the rest. Great things are coming. I promise you that.

Love Donât Cost A Thing
Grayson buys you a car, Twitter stans are mean, and Graysonâs really good at making you feel better.Â
A/N: this is part 1 of fics I wrote a month ago, forgot about and finally finished. this started out as a simple fluff and idk what happened. also letâs pretend that Grayson still has a wrapped porsche because I could totally see him wanting to match.Â
Word Count: 3K
Warnings: horribly written smut and a lot ofme pretending I know about nice cars
God, some bitches will do anything for clout nowadays.
Honestly, when will Gray wake up and realize sheâs just with him for his money?
What a fucking gold-digger.
Gold-digger.
That word rings around your head as you continue to scroll through the replies from Graysonâs latest tweet, each one nastier than the last. You sniffle, wiping your tears and locking your phone, before turning to look at your boyfriend through the bedroom window. Heâs outside talking to Ethan excitedly over a car, not just any car but a 2021 Porsche 911. A car he bought just for you.
He had approached you earlier this afternoon with a broad grin. As easily excitable as he is, this didnât feel out of the ordinary to you, so you simply raise an eyebrow while continuing to sip your coffee.
âAre you finished with your final yet, Y/N ?â He whispers out of caution that you might still be testing.
âTwo more questions, then Iâm all yours baby. Whatâs wrong?â A sense of worry washes over you since you know he wouldnât interrupt you unless itâs crucial. Heâd grown accustomed to your new routine since the pandemic began. After asking (begging) for you to quarantine with him, he soon realized that the time he thought you two would spend together was taken up by quizzes, essays, and exams as you finished up your senior year of college. While he was more than willing to take second-place to your studies, he was a little antsy for you to be finished.
âNothing. I just wanted to show you something out in the shed.â Now, this you do roll your eyes at. While you were occupied with studies, he was out in that godforsaken tiny shed almost every day. Secretly, you were glad Ethan had foregone the bed idea because that was the only thing getting him to come to bed to you every night. You assure youâll be out in a few minutes and shoo him away to finish the test that will ensure your bachelors.
Only twenty minutes later, you feel as if a crushing weight has been lifted off of your shoulders. You crack your neck before sighing and closing your laptop, elated that the four years of your undergrad were finally behind you. You pull out your phone before remembering your promise to Grayson. You walk out the back kitchen doors and turn the corner, not expecting what was behind it.
Your mouth drops. Sitting in front of you is a shiny, white Porsche complete with a giant red bow on the hood. Your boyfriend sits on top of the back seats, dressed in a blue button-down and black slacks. Graysonâs beaming as he holds a bouquet of roses out towards you. You try to think of something, willing anything to come to your brain, but shock leaves you speechless so you start tearing up instead.
Grayson, mistaking your tears for anger or sadness, is by your side in a minute.
âAngel, whatâs wrong? Do you not like it? I wanted to wrap it to match mine, but Ethan said it was a bad idea. But- but we can always go to the dealer and switch it out if you donât like it or I can -â He stammers, immediately worried that he had disappointed you. You cut him off with a deep kiss, relieving any worry that was flying through his brain as he grabs your waist to hold you closer.
âNo, itâs perfect. Youâre perfect. Everythingâs perfect. But why?â You question.
âWell, I wanted to do something special for you since you finished school today. And since we canât travel anywhere, I figured this was the next best thing. Youâve worked so hard these past four years, Angel; I just wanted to show you how proud I am of you and how much I love you.â He explains, scratching the back of his neck nervously. Your heart melts at this. While you had expected maybe a five-star dinner and hopefully some marathon sex, you had no idea your boyfriend would do something so extravagant for you. Never in your wildest dreams did you believe someone would care for you like this, and adoration begins to fill your entire being.
âGrayson, I- I donât know what to say.â Youâre astounded, and every time you look at the car, youâre speechless again.
âHopefully that you like it. It was kind of expensive.â He jokes, now reassured that your silence is a good thing and not out of anger. You swat his chest before wrapping your hands around his neck and pulling him in for another kiss. Just as his hands start to slip towards your ass, you pull away from him.
âThank you, Grayson. For the car, for letting me stay here, for everything. I donât deserve you-â
âDonât start with that.â He cuts you off, leaning in so your foreheads are touching, âYou do plenty for me, and if weâre honest, I donât deserve you. Youâre beautiful, intelligent, funny. Thereâs nothing in the world I wouldnât do for you, and you canât change that.â Before you can even respond, you notice Ethan making his way out through the back door.
âYo, what are you two still doing out here? Donât you have reservations at six?â He yells out, towel over his shoulder and obviously not expecting the two of you to be interrupting his future tanning session. You turn back to your boyfriend, confused as Grayson sighs exasperatedly and looks up to the sky.
âI havenât told her about that yet, dickhead.â Grayson yells back to his brother.
âWell, can you hurry up? I want to lay out for a bit, and the weather app says itâs supposed to rain at four.â Ethan asks. You canât help but giggle, knowing Ethanâs just oblivious to the very intimate moment you and Grayson were having. Grayson huffs, annoyed that his brother is ruining his plan before turning to you.
âI booked us reservations at Il Cielo.â Your eyes widen at the mention of your favorite restaurant.
âBut how? Itâs been booked for weeks. We couldnât even get in for my birthday.â You question.
âThe ownerâs daughters are fans, so I promised a couple pictures tonight in order to get a table. Now go get dressed, we can take your car if you want.â He explains. Images of you two dressed up while Grayson drives the new Porsche fills your mind and you slightly shiver. Grayson, raising an eyebrow to your reaction, leans down for another kiss with you. Right when Graysonâs tongue enters your mouth is when you hear the fake-retching coming from the other twin.
âBro, go away!â Grayson groans, holding you closer to him. Youâre both leaned up against the car as you turn to watch the interaction between the two siblings.
âFine. But first, let me get a picture of the happy couple. Youâd kill me if you didnât get to flex how good of a boyfriend you are.â He says, grabbing his phone. Grayson moves to argue, but you silence him, posing for the camera instead. You both smile, looking happier and more in love with each other then youâve ever been. And you canât help smiling wider when you see the tag and pictures on Twitter.
It only took a few minutes before the hate comments started flooding in. You had set your phone down for a quick shower but returned to notification after notification. It was non-stop dmâs, tweets, and even responses to IG photos from 2016 about how you werenât good enough for Grayson, how you were just using him, and how he would eventually find someone better.
Usually, you could just ignore it, turn your phone off and turn a blind eye to the negativity spewed at you. But you were already emotionally overwhelmed, and you couldnât help the small part of you that agreed. What had you done to deserve a man who could drop thousands of dollars on you at a whim? You werenât impressive, werenât an influencer or a model, just an average girl who managed to catch his eye. Â
Your phone screen starts to blur as tears form in your eyes. You try to stop the burning feeling in your throat. Still, fat tears begin to roll down your cheeks onto the screen as you start sniffling, falling victim to your deepest insecurities. You were so caught up in yourself that you hadnât even noticed Grayson making his way down the hall.
âY/N, are you almost ready? We have to leave for the restaurant soon.â He yells towards his room, making his way to you before noticing your sobs. You look up at him before sniffling again, feeling sorry that he had to see you like this.
âWhat's wrong, Angel?â He asks gently, moving to sit next to you on the edge of the bed. He wraps an arm around your bare shoulder, careful not to move the towel you had wrapped around you from your shower.
âNothing, itâs nothing. Give me a few minutes, and Iâll be ready.â You attempt to reassure, moving to wipe the tears from your eye. You wince, noticing how unbelievable you sound even to yourself, and you can already tell Grayson is unconvinced.
âYou know you can tell me anything, right?â He asks. You nod, not meeting his eyes, looking down at your lap instead. He softly grabs your chin, forcing you to meet his intense stare. âSo, whatâs wrong?â
âGod, itâs really nothing. Some fans on Twitter had just tweeted me some stuff and -â Before you could even finish, heâs grabbing his phone to look at the replies, nostrils flaring as he reads what fans had mentioned you in.
âItâs honestly nothing, G. I was just being overdramatic.â You promise, wanting to drop it at this point and continue with the perfect day you two were having.
Heâs silent for a second, which worries you more than anything since he always has something to say. You rub his thigh, trying to comfort him before he grabs your hand.
âYou know none of that is true. There is no one better, never will be. My future begins and ends with you.â He whispers, sounding even more hurt than you. You stare at him widely, dumbfounded at the bold confession Grayson just dropped on you. Taking your silence as disbelief, he moves your hand towards his mouth so he can start kissing your wrist.
âBelieve me when I say, Y/N, there isnât anything I wouldnât do for you. â He growls, dropping your wrist to move in front of you. âWhat can I do to get that through your head?â
With that, he grabs your head roughly, bringing you into a hot kiss. You immediately whimper, wrapping your hands around his neck to pull him closer to you. His tongue slides against yours desperately as he rips your towel off you, tossing it carelessly over his shoulder.
You pull away from each other, panting with desire and trying to catch your breath as Grayson goes down to suck warm, wet kisses onto your neck.
Moaning his name, you move to unbutton his shirt shakily while he continues to move down your neck to your chest. You shrug his shirt off before scratching your nails down his chest as he takes one nipple into his mouth.
Twirling the other nipple in his fingers, you arch into him before heâs switching to the other one and repeating this process. He continues like that for a while until you moan and whimper underneath him, trying to grind up into his lap.
âGrayson, please. Touch me.â You mewl, hips bucking when he drags a finger through your slit. Grayson sucks the mess off his finger before looking down at you darkly, hazel eyes turning a deep brown. He kneels down, spreading your legs and placing his large hands on your hips to hold you down. He places soft, open mouth kisses on the apex of your thighs and meets your gaze before speaking again -
âMine. Youâll always be mine. Nothing can change that.â He promises. You clench around nothing, feeling like you could cum just from his words of reassurance. He notices how you react and sharply inhales.
âFuck, so pretty.â He breaths out, and youâre not even sure youâre supposed to hear that, watching Grayson lose himself in the desire to express how deep his love runs for you.
He spreads your lips apart with two fingers before licking at your clit softly. He licks it again before pulling you towards him with a long, slow lick watching as you fall apart.
You already knew this was going to take no time on your end, but watching his intense gaze on you causes you to produce more and more wetness, to the point where you feel like youâre leaking onto the mattress.
He stops at your clit, circling it a few times with his tongue before taking it into his mouth. He suckles on it, watching as you fall back onto the mattress with a high pitch whine.
âGrayson.â You moan shakily, moving to get closer to his mouth.
You start rolling your hips onto his face, grabbing your tits to ground yourself somehow. Your moaning consistently now, not knowing how else to convey how good heâs making you feel other than with high-pitched sounds.
He places his arms under your thighs, pulling you closer to him, and starts making out with your pussy, savoring every sweet drop that comes out of you. He sucks harder before pulling back and rubbing at your clit with two fingers.
âSo good, Angel. Perfect for me.â He gasps, lips swollen and red. His mouth is dripping, and he shakily runs a hand through his hair before diving back in.
He focuses on your clit this time, sucking hard while reaching to slide two fingers inside of you. He drags them back and forth, feeling you clenching down hard on him.
âGrayson, Iâm so close.â You moan, getting louder and louder as he continues to flood your body with pleasure. He sucks on your clit even harder before dragging his fingers against a specific spot, and youâre suddenly overwhelmed with white-hot pleasure. You scream as your orgasm rolls through you in shockwaves, simultaneously pulling away and trying to get closer to him.
He doesnât take his mouth off you and groans loudly at how your pussy pulsates in his mouth. He notices heâs grinding in the air and presses a palm down to relieve some of the pressure in his pants.
You lay there with an arm over your eyes, taking ragged breaths trying to calm yourself down. Grayson finally removes himself from you and goes up to lay next to you, stroking your hair and moving your arm so you can look at him.
âNever has a man ever made me cum that hard.â You mutter. He laughs at that before he turns to kiss you softly, allowing you to taste yourself on his lips and tongue. His kissing grows sloppier and sloppier until heâs slotting himself in between your thighs.
You reach down to unbutton his pants and pull them and his briefs down as far as you can until he leans back to remove them altogether.
He gets back in position, kissing you some more while his rock-hard cock brushes up against your thigh. He grinds into you as you pull away from him.
âGray?â
âYeah.â he murmurs hotly, continuing to grind into you.
âFuck me, please.â You purr.
He breathes shakily and lines up with you, rolling his hips into you slowly. You both moan at the first thrust, his guttural and deep and yours high-pitched and whiny. He slowly grinds into you one, two, three times before picking up and thrusting into you properly.
He grabs one of your legs, placing it over his shoulder, allowing him to reach inside you deeper. He speeds up, overwhelming you with the relentless snap of his hips.
âGrayson.â you cry as he reaches down to rub your clit. He groans, unsure whether to look at your aroused eyes, your bouncing tits, or how effortlessly his dick enters and leaves your pussy. He tries to look at all three before groaning, âSo fucking hot, Y/N.â He leans down to kiss and suck at your neck before growling in your ear, âDonât give a fuck what anyone says. Youâre so perfect for me. So wet and tight.â
At this point, heâs speaking incoherently. So overwhelmed by how well youâre taking him that heâs saying anything and everything that comes to his brain. That doesnât stop his words from going directly to your clit, and you moan loudly at his words, begging for him to fuck you harder.
He does as asked, and it isn't until he leans down to kiss you again that you feel your second orgasm hit you like a freight train. You cry out while you dig sharp nails into his back, riding out your orgasm as he continues to pound into you. His thrusts stutter as you clamp down on him like a vice. He continues to roll his hips while cursing lowly into your ear.
âCum for me, G. Please. I need it.â You whisper while scratching lightly up his back, hoping this will edge him on to finish. Sure enough, his hips stutter as his dick swells before hotly cumming inside you. Â He groans out loudly, rocking his hips slowly into you before coming to a complete stop. He lays down on top of you, grabbing a blanket to cover the two of you.
You run your hands through his hair as he softly kisses your forehead.
âI love you, no matter what. Donât listen to Twitter.â He confirms, sleepily. You hum in agreement, kissing his neck as a response.
âI love you more.â
You both are quiet, the silence lulling you to sleep before Grayson is rapidly jerking himself out of you. You look at his wild expression, concerned.
âFuck, I forgot about our reservations.â

i canât be sure, but i think i just saw CLARA WOJDA drive onto the parkway. donât they know weâre not supposed to be driving on that haunted road right now? maybe it has to do with the fact that theyâre so +RESOLUTE and -CALCULATING that makes them feel EXCITED about everything going on. i guess we could also chalk it up to the fact that theyâre always reminding me of FLICKERING CANDLES, STARLESS NIGHTS, OVERGROWN MEADOWS either way, i hope they get back safely.Â
heyyy yâall! iâm cora (she/they) and iâm so excited to get started! (also hit my DMs or discord killercora#6480 for plotting...please...i beg of you)
I. BASICS. Name: Clara Margaret Wojda (she/her) Age: 25 D.O.B.: June 6th, 1995 Sexuality: Bisexual Chart: gemini sun, capricorn rising, virgo moon, taurus venus, virgo mars Occupation: Candlemaker and part-time fake psychic (come get yer palm read)
II. OVERVIEW
tw: crime(?), child neglect, drug use
Clara spent her early years learning her parentsâ business - fraud. Sheâs quite good at it too, along with lying and stealing. Though never an academic, she has an extreme amount of emotional intelligence, which she frequently uses to her advantage. However, due to her upbringing, she has difficulties trusting anyone other than her sister, Bea.Â
In her earlier years, she would often assist her parents in the management of their illegal poker games, bringing drinks to clients and slipping cards under the table. No one ever suspected the smiling blonde child.Â
Though sheâd become numb to her situation, she found solace in a few things. Cigarettes, reality tv, cocaine, to name a few. These are things she tends to hide, for the sake of her sister. Due to her various substance abuse issues and increasing fascination with her parentsâ line of work, she graduated with a C-average and quickly decided college wasnât for her, choosing rather to pick up a series of odd jobs while pulling her own schemes.Â
At age 20, her parents, Nadja and Ivan, were arrested on charges of money laundering, fraud, and a slew of others she didnât care to hear. All she knew was that now she and her sister were on their own. This was among the reasons she decided to follow her sister to Reed, she didnât have anyone or anything else.
Now settled in Virginia, Clara is back to her old ways. She runs a tiny candle store out of the front of her house, specializing in odd and overly specific scents. On the side, she fools the more naive citizens of Reed by playing psychic. For $20, sheâll tell you your future via palm reading or tarot, your choice.Â
III. PERSONALITY
Clara is a brilliant actress, but not on stage. While troubled and angry with the world, she keeps it covered with a facade of niceties.Â
Despite that, she loves talking to people. Itâs one of her few talents.Â
Definitely not a sociopath, but she has little empathy for the people she doesnât REALLY care about, which is why sheâs mostly excited about the murders more than anything. She thinks itâs like living in a Netflix documentary.
IV. CONNECTIONS
Tbh I have none in mind right now, so Iâm open for anything. Maybe someone who can see through her mask? Maybe someone sheâs extorted hundreds of dollars from through her scams? Toxic ex? Up to yâall!!!Â

Words: 4,3+k
Warnings: cursing? none else, itâs fluffy and cringey, whatever ;â)
*flashback to two years ago*
"Not very subtle is it?â
"What are you saying?â you looked up to see Rufus looking over shoulder to read along the scribbled lines written on your notepad.
"drugs, bars, backseats of cars, blowing boys?â he read chuckling his way to take a seat on the couch beside you.
"Itâs Rock 'N Roll what do you expectâ you laughed pulling your feet up to rest them on his thighs.
"Now whoâs the child of a fucking rock legend out of the two of us?â
"You know, if I didnât know any better, Iâd say it was youâ Rufus pinched your leg before bringing them to the ground. "Enough talking letâs get mortal or Iâm going to dieâ you jumped up and it wasnât two hours later that you were in the bathroom of a club fooling around with a random dude. Living the life of a rockstar to its fullest potential, for once not thinking about what the media would have to say the next morning. You didnât give a fuck. With one swift motion you pulled out a little plastic bag of coke and sloppily made a line along the countertop. Hands trembling in anticipation and the guys lips were nibbling on your neck.
"You got any money on you?â he brought his hot wet lips from your neck and handed you a crumbled up 5 pound note that he kept in the front pocket of his jeans. You used the money to press one nostril down and snorted hard.
"Fuck youâre so hotâ the guy said while having his eyes on you by looking in the mirror.
"want some?â you offered, but he declined. Another sloppy line and a make out session later, you stumbled out. It was a hard life. It sucked. But you would never let anyone know. Chasing a high but falling down even lower and hitting the ground. City. Concert. Drinks. Drugs. Sex. Meltdown. Repeat.Â
The rare nights you spent alone in your hotel room were the worst. You felt small, like you didnât belong, being not able to tell fantasy from reality, seeing how far you could go. Zoning out, even if it was just for half an hour was a relief, not being yourself. Not having to be yourself. You stomped back into the room. Your drummer, Sid to your left having some blonde chick pressed up to a wall and he fist bumped you. A sort of "congratulatingâ each other on the many times you both got lucky. Hot bodies all over the place and it felt like if one more person entered the club, it would have exploded. You felt your high slowly fade, trying to match names to the people you encountered all while searching for someone you personally knew. Long blond hair at the bar. Rufus. "Heyyyâ you slurred at him as he turned around. A pint of beer in his hand.
"Y/N! You donât look too good honeyâ
"What a gentleman you areâ your eyes were still blown and glassy. He looked quite concerned.
"Iâll take you to the hotel loveâ he touched your arm in a caring gesture.
"Donât take it the wrong way Ruf, like no offence, but I donât want to have sex with youâ
"Not like thatâ he laughed. "You look like youâve had enough for tonight. Youâll thank me tomorrow.â You felt stupid. Embarrassed. Being escorted out of the place like a child being dragged out of the candy store. Rufus put his arm around you to stabilize you, walking back to the hotel. As you began to sober more up, the embarrassment reached such height that you felt like dying right then and there. No one was supposed to see you like this. See you break, but the steps in the bright lobby of the hotel were the hardest. You could feel the walls you built up around you slowly but surely break. And once those walls are torn down. Itâs all over. "In you go lovelyâ Rufus held the blanket up for you to slide in. "Thank you.â "Youâre very welcome Ms. L/Nâ he smiled. Rufus walked over to the little fridge to get a bottle of water. "Here youâll thank me tomorrowâ he handed it over to you. "Need anything else?â he asked while tying his hair up. "Iâm good, I thinkâ you weakly smiled. Rufus startled you by jumping into the bed next to you. "Youâre not alright and being the good friend I am, Iâm here to listen and help.â Silence followed and it felt like eternity. "Iâm fucked upâ your small voice filled the room. "Youâre just enjoying yourselfâ he assured you. "Am I really? Who am I kidding? I made a complete fool out of myself once again." he could sense that he assumed wrong in the tone of your voice. "How do you mean?" he asked getting under the sheets. "Itâs all fun and games. Then Iâm alone again and everything gets worse.â "And you feel guilty because youâre cheating on Josh.?â "Iâm the worst person, but no. Not entirely.â Rufus reached out his hand to brush your hair back a bit, signaling that he was listening. "Itâs better now that youâre here, because if you werenât, I would not know what to do with myself. Sometimes I canât stand myself. Most times, to be precise. I feel like a wreck. And I keep telling myself to not go back into these dark places. But still I keep going back.â A silent tear made itâs way down your cheek. "From now on and always. No matter when you need me, call me, facetime me, no matter the time. I know better said than done, but youâre my friend. And friends donât give up on each other like that. You donât ever have to feel like youâre alone in this. Weâre family.â he pulled you closer to him, your head almost resting on his chest. With a steady breathing you slowly drifted off to sleep. *end of throwback*
Much time had passed. Time in which you felt the way you typically felt. Alone. Having broken up with Josh quite some time ago. Josh immortalizing you in one of his songs, describing how you left him, when he proposed: " Do you remember what I said, When I got down on my knees, Gotta get your lovin' baby, Lovin's all I need, Don't make me beg now baby, Don't make me bleed, I gave you all a man could give, And you still walked out on me" Roger has gone on tour. His wife in tow to your surprise. Every picture posted of them together made you feel smaller, the way he had his arm around her, made you doubt your situation around him. Tired of picking up a fight, sometimes ignoring his secret calls, you isolated yourself. The album, a declaration of love, that was supposed to be released soon, was now on the verge of being filled with songs that would make you feel the hurt and pain as a listener. It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining and Roger was coming home. The situation was uncertain. How would you deal with it? Did his flame of undying love find its way to burn with even more passion for his wife again? And what light did he see you in now? The 20-year-old something thatâs been destroying his happy 10 years of marriage? Deep inside you hoped he wouldnât, but to be honest, you wouldnât have been surprised if he stayed with her. Maybe it was all just a rebellious phase. Trying to feel young again. Getting revenge on something stupid SHE did. The doorbell rang. It could be anyone, you thought to yourself. As you opened, a sheer wave of bliss washed over. His blue eyes shone like never before, you swore you saw stars in them. His hair was ruffled, well whoâs wouldnât be after a 20-hour flight. No exchange of words, just shoulders crushing into one another, fulfilling the tightest hug youâd ever felt. Once again, this is what home felt like and itâs been so long that all the doubts you had about him were crushed in a millisecond. "I missed you so muchâ Roger breathed into your neck. "I missed you moreâ you cried, your hand on the back of his head, fumbling with his white locks. âI donât think thatâs possible, my love.â he rasped. God you missed hearing the roughness of his voice, all close up and personal. When he pulled back, his nose gently brushed yours and he kissed you tenderly. "How are you feelingâ you asked, helping him get his bags in, the majority of them already being shipped to Cornwall, to a house of his you havenât got to see yet. "Iâm toastâ he huffed, letting himself fall into the comfy black sofa in the living room. âIs there maybe something I can help you with? A massage? Something else?â you tried to sound as seductive, slowly but surely getting settled on his lap. If he really didnât get with his wife on tour he must be exploding by now, set aside all the secret wank sessions. As you grinded down on him, there was nothing. No reaction whatsoever. You tried some more until Roger stopped you.
"Sorry love, so sorry.â his fingers glided gently up and down your arm. "Has something happened? Have you changed your mind about us?â âNo no, Iâm just really exhausted I canât quite ....you know.. get it up. Iâm sorry, itâs embarrassingâ "No Rog itâs not, donât be sorry.â You assured him by kissing both of his cheeks one after the other, making him smile. "Anything else I can do for you instead?â you asked, ready to fulfill all his wishes. "I just want to be as close to as possibleâ He wanted affection, affection he had to go without for several months, except for the occasional social media schmoozing with his wife. Still sat in his lap, you cuddled tighter into him, cheek on cheek. His breathing was now more steady and peaceful, you could feel him relaxing, his tense muscles from drumming suddenly didnât feel as tense any more. You two stayed like that for half an eternity, well a decent amount of hours, but it felt like minutes and before you knew it, the sun was setting. "Why donât you move in with me?â Roger asked out of the blue, with you still on top of him. You looked into his eyes, questioning if it was a good idea. "Donât worry, I already filed for divorce. The paperwork should be through pretty soon.â he assured you. God. That was it, now you knew he was for real. And hell would break loose if the media found out. For the media it already was bad that another woman was the reason for Roger Taylorâs divorce. But an age difference of 49 years would be the last straw - a real scandal. "I donât know Rog. I donât want to give up this place.â your apartment has been your rock over the years, you inspirational little cave with the perfect view. "You donât have to give this up.â He brought his hand up to your cheek, lifting your head so you were looking into his eyes once more. "I just want you with me all the time. I donât want to go a day without you anymoreâ You melted into his touch. Every move he made, every word he said, every look he gave you, made your heart flutter. Youâve never felt this deep for anyone else before. So you nodded. "Is that a yes?â he asked with a dumb smile on his face. "Yesâ His lips were on yours again. They felt like the inside of a rose, passionate, soft, and and a high of pure happiness rushed through both of you As the night grew cold, the two of you got comfy and especially cuddly. Finally together again. Roger cuddled into your chest. He needed this after months and months of going without it. It was only a matter of minutes, mixed with playing with strands of his hair and kisses to his forehead, that he fell asleep. His soft snoring let you know that he was very well enjoying every little thing. "The man who used to move under meat?â you gave Roger a funny look. "Donât look at me like thatâ Roger laughed having put on his stupid "joke faceâ but you loved it. He brushed a strand of your hair behind your ear. "tâwas a guy at our parties, he would just lay on tables, being naked and covered in food that he was basically invisible. Once someone tried to grab something he wiggled, and they were startled. It was so fun watchingâ you laughed at his story and cuddled closer to him. Rogerâs Queen partying stories were the best, but thinking of all the girls he must have been with made you feel jealous and for some reason insecur as well. "I can imagine. How many girls have you really been with?â curiosity took over you. "Not as many as Iâd would let everyone knowâ he chuckled. "Yeah yeah... bet it must be thousandsâ you tried to sound as nonchalant as possible. "Well, then I have to disappoint you, my loveâ you felt his hot breath on your cheek before he pressed a soft kiss to it. "And it certainly also wouldnât have nearly been as many if you were there.â "Roger we both know thatâs not true.â "See, thatâs a lieâ he dipped down to kiss your lips. "Once we get to Cornwall I have something special to give youâ "What is it Rog?â you whined still curled up in the warm bed drinking in the warmth that Roger left behind. "You first better get your beautiful bottom out of bedâ he called from the bathroom. "My bottom is here and ready start the dayâ Roger finished shagging his hair out to style the way you liked it the most. Messy. He turned around and grabbed your face gently and closed the space between the two of you. "Morning breathâ you mumbled against his lips. "Iâve had worseâ he mumbled back, a hint of mint made itself into your mouth. "Why do I believe you?â you laughed, pulling away and letting your hand glide through his hair. "You look so goodâ you looked at him in awe. "You know just how to flatter an old manâ "Donât. Say. That. Mr.. Taylor.â you said in between placing kisses all over his face. His eyelashes fluttered while laughing. He was a sight to see. "You seriously better get ready nowâ he gently slapped your bum and left you to yourself to take a shower. You put on some light makeup, comfy clothes and you both were off for a 5 1/2 hour drive in Rogerâs black Range Rover. Thank god for Bluetooth speakers, much to Rogerâs annoyance you blasted the Hot Space album, as well as any other Queen song he hated. "How do you even know these songs? You know every single word, might have to question your taste in musicâ Roger laughed. When he finally gave up, he joined you in singing along, harmonizing and trying to hit all the high notes just likehe did 40 years ago. To your surprise he still managed most of them. His hand almost never left your thigh, except for when it was time to shift gears. Yours usually rested on top of his. Nothing could ever compare to this. When you arrived at his enormous mansion you were once again speechless. He showed you around to get settled once again and it made your mouth run dry, especially seeing all the golden discs and awards he stored all around the house and on the walls. Most of them were settled in the living room. "Canât wait for you to contribute to the collectionâ Roger hugged you from behind while you admired them all. "Me?â You laughed. "Yeah of course you. Iâve never won a Grammy in my golden years. Only the honorable one 100 years laterâ his laugh vibrates on your neck. "Hereâ he handed you a black box. âTold you Iâve got something for you, something really specialâ You opened the box and it was one of the cymbal necklaces he was recently selling. Filled with joy, you jumped up on him and he gladly caught you in his arms, giving him a long kiss. "Thank you, thank you so much!! I love it Rogerâ "But wait wait, my loveâ Roger put you down again. "This one was made out of the first cymbals I ever played with. And I wanted you to have it and kind of be a part of it,have a part of it, if that makes sense?â You had tears in your eyes, knowing that this part of his drums made such an impact on his life and him now giving it to you, even if was small, owning a piece of his early days. It made you feel special.. On the back, the words "right till the end, Love, Rogerâ were engraved. It was the best present ever, besides of course, having the love of your life all to yourself. "I also have something for youâ you said, not having this situation exactly planned through, because of your anxiety he wouldnât like it. "I had a lot of time to spend while you were goneâ "Doing only good stuff I hopeâ he chuckled looking at you, his eyes shining from under his long lashes. "Come with meâ you took his hand into yours and guided him to the crackling fireplace. Roger sat down in his red leather chair, one that never left its place since moving in in the late 70s. You sat opposite him on the red, equally old fashioned carpet in front of the fire place, clutching your pitch black guitar tightly. "Itâs not as awesome as your present, but here we goâ A nervous feeling rushed through your body. Your slightly trembling fingers started picking the first chords. Seeing the way his eyes blinked at you, you knew he was listening closely. The song was called 'Call it what you want toâ and every single word was true. Nobody has heard from you for months, nor your fans, nor the media, at least not since the Grammys. And Roger on the other hand, he loved you like you were brand new. He knew about your rocky, hard, and scandalous past, your battles with all things that are toxic and your battles with yourself. Still, he didnât back down, he stayed by your side, no matter what. He built a fire just to keep you warm while everyone outside was throwing ice at you, trying to get to you. He could be trusted, a feeling not only his embrace let you know, but the way he treated you. His bad jokes always made you laugh, in fact the worse they were, the more you loved him. The âjoke faceâ he gave you, when he expected you to laugh was just adorable and made you fall in love all over again. When the song was finished, Roger had tears in his eyes. âWowâ he breathed. "I donât think.. I donât think anyoneâs ever written a song about me, at least not one like this. Itâs so beautiful. I couldnât ask for a better present from the most beautiful girl in the worldâ your guitar was quickly on its stand again and you in Rogerâs lap. "Thank you thank you thank youâ he breathed kissing you all over. "It was a pleasure Mr. Taylorâ you smiled. The hardest part was get to come. Releasing the songs which all evolved around yours and Rogerâs relationship. Clearing all the rumors. Revealing your relationship. Meeting his children. But it all would come with time and didnât matter at the moment.
What he wanted though, was you meeting his children, as fast as possible. He was not one to keep something so special hidden from them, for as he long as he already did. So, one beautiful Saturday evening they all came to visit, you had even cooked a treat they all loved, but it was just how you expected it to be, at least part of it. Rufus came first, in tow with him Tigerlily and Lola. Roger and you were standing at the door, ready to greet them, but it seemed as if Lola still didnât warm up to the idea of her dad dating someone so much younger, almost her age. Tigerlily hugged you right away, she was probably the most open minded one of them all. âItâs so good to finally meet you, Iâm a big fan of yours!â Tigerlily giggled, handing over some wine and flowers as presents. âWeâre going to kill this one laterâ she winked, holding up the bottle. âFor sureâ you smiled at her. Felix and Rory joined the party a bit later. It was kind of weird that they were a bit older, but you managed and as it seemed as if they didnât have any problem with it either.
Tigerlily and you kept quoting vines and laughing at memes after dinner, to which Roger only shook his head, all while laughing about how good you were getting along. Your hand was casualy on the table when Roger cupped it with his, finally intertwining your fingers. âReally?â Lola said out of nowhere, looking down at your joined hands. She got up and walked out of the room. âLolaâ Roger called after her. Him, Felix, and Rory went after her. Your worst fear became reality. They didnât accept you. You couldnât blame her though, thinking you would react the same way if your dad showed up with someone much younger.Â
âDonât worryâ Tigerlily assured you. âItâs just a lot for her to handle right now.â She hugged you tightly, rubbing your back. âYeah , she needs time to warm up. Hasnât even warmed up to Sarina entirely, itâs going to be alright.â Rufus said, taking a sip from his beer. He was right and you would be willing to give her as much time as she needed.
Nearly half an hour passed when they all came back into the dining room. âY/N?â Lola stood in the door. âCan we talk?â she pointed towards the other room. You followed her. âLook, Iâm sorry, that this is might be weird for you. I totally understand, but I really love your dad I-â âI knowâ she interrupted. âAnd he really loves you. It just.. it just freaks me out a bit. And knowing my dad I know no one will ever be good enough for him, heâs the best dad everâ she explained. â I believe you, he speaks highly of you all the timeâ âWell, he also does speak highly of you all the time, maybe Iâm just a bit jealous that he wonât spend as much time with us anymore as heâs got you now.â Lola sounded sad and a bit disappointed. â I wonât allow thatâ you assured her. âYou know... Iâd never keep him from seeing you all. As much as I love him, I want him to be happy and seeing as today went, it was pretty fun and a joy having you all around. Talking, eating, drinking.â âYouâre rightâ Lola said.Â
âIâm so sorry for making a scene.â âDonât be sorry, itâs alright! But next time something bothers you, letâs just talk it out! Iâll always have an open ear for you!â âAwwe lovie, thank you. You know, youâre pretty cool actually. Having a female rockstar in the family makes for a great changeâ She admitted. â Youâre pretty awesome too! Love your photographyâ you smiled at her. âMay I give you a hug?â Lola asked you to which you nodded. Right in this moment Roger went to look after the two of you and when he saw you hugging your problems out, his heart swell. He backed away quickly though, just fast enough for none of you to notice he was there. âLetâs get back to the others now, or theyâll think we killed each otherâ you joked and you both went back to join the rest, to enjoy some desert. It was 2 am when Rogerâs children left after everyone helped cleaning up. They really were all about teamwork and you adored them.Â
âI had a great eveningâ you said to Roger while changing into something more comfortable. âIâm glad you had a good time, because I was really enjoying myself.. Except for the little.. Lola thingâ he said, giving your shoulder a kiss. âoh, thatâs alright, we get along now. What did you say to her anyway, when you went after her?â You asked him. âOh just that you really put much work into this get together, you know.. with the cooking and all. And that I love you and youâre very important to me and that this is just how the future is going to be.â his reasonings were making you smile. âYour kids are awesome. You did a great job raising them.â âI know I didâ he chuckled. âCanât wait to meet them againâ you said more quietly, brushing your thumb along his cheek. âHold your horses little lady, youâll see them soon enough. I love having them around yâknow? We usually have a family meeting once a week, talking about what everyone is up toâ âSounds awesomeâ you loved the idea of them spending more time with the two of you, dining, drinking, having a laugh, going on family vacations. Family. The moment Roger saw you interact with his kids, having inside jokes with them, you and Tigerlily even arranging a date to go out shopping, he knew he made the right decision. Giving his whole heart to you and you loving him right back. He knew it already, someday, when the time was right, when the media would quiet down a little more, heâd make you âofficiallyâ part of his family. And when that time came, you knew what your answer to his question would be. YES.Â

Key: Bold- Dialogue said in the Drama
Episode 1:
The knife fight between the North Korean man and Shi Jin happened, and Shi Jin got injured, they go back to South Korea and hang out in the arcade where they help catch a thief and then they go to the cafe, Dae Young soon realizes that his phone is missing and they head to the hospital, they are accompanied by Gwang Nam as he was with them at the cafe.
Mo Yeon receives the thief and compliments the person that gave the medical treatment. Her colleagues around her.Â
âMake sure to make his treatment as painful as possibleâ Mo Yeon read off his arm.Â
âEasyâ Nurse Ha Ja Ae muttered as she pressed against his sprained ankle, he grunted.Â
âHis guardian just called, I think theyâre on their wayâ Choi Min Ji informed Mo Yeon, handing her the phone.
The patient/thief tries to run away except he runs into Yoo Ji, she was in the lobby, and he looked rattled, and paranoid, she stopped.
âWhere are you going?âÂ
âWho are you, lady!?â
âAre you stealing medical equipment?â she narrowed her eyes.Â
âMind your own businessâ he snapped and walked out of the hospital. She squinted her eyes, as she saw a group of guys following where he was going. She shook her head and followed them.Â
She reached the underground parking to the side, she hid behind a wall, watching what was about to happen, first, they started beating up the thief, then his friend when he tried to help him out. She moved to go help him out but she stopped when she saw three men coming towards the crowd. One was very tall, while his two other friends were a little bit shorter than him. He looked very serious, while his friend smiled at the other short man. And started yelling.
âEveryone! Stop what you're doing!â his shout halted their actions. They looked at the loud one in disbelief, their leader scoffed.Â
âJust pass by if you know whatâs best for you,â he told them with a senile smile.Â
The three men smiled and kept walking towards them. The silent man walked up to the injured thief and the boy held onto his pant leg and begged for his help.
The man asked him why he was getting beaten up, the man nodded and told them that he was his brother. Of course, the gang didn't believe him. And the friend that was getting hit explained that the boy; Ki Bum needed to pay the fee of leaving their gang. Dae young nodded and asked how much that was. The gang leader scoffed, Dae young solemnly nodded and pulled out his wallet.Â
Yoo Ji couldn't believe he was really going to give them the money. She was just about to move when she heard the man say, âif you can get the wallet from me, Iâll give you the moneyâ he informed them.
âIf itâs an empty wallet, youâre dead,â one of them said. At that moment two of them got out knives. Yoo Ji realized that these 3 men were like no other, the man with the wallet didn't even back away, his two friends took a defensive stance but backed away, as if knowing that this isnât their fight, yet.Â
Dae young beat two boys with his wallet, quite easily, almost like he wasn't even trying. As they dropped their knives. Shi Jin bent down and picked up one of the fallen knives and inspected it. Making the rookie mistake of telling everyone to get out their knives. Dae young and Gwang Nam rolled their eyes as Shi Jin looked taken aback when all of them pulled out their knives.Â
âI am still learning,â he joked. Gwang Nam smiled and took a defensive stance ready to strike.Â
Yoo Ji realized what was so different about them, they were just thugs, they looked professionally trained, she guessed by their attitude and the way they stood that theyâre probably from the military.
As they fought, she noticed that the thief whom she now knows is Ki Bum and his friends were still injured. She also saw one of the thugs charging at the tallest one of the military men. She quickly intercepted his blow and hit his throat, making him choke and fall to the ground. As they noticed her presence the rest of the thugs tried to fight her, but she was fast. She quickly took care of the gangsters and hurried towards the injured two.Â
âCome on! let's get you back to the hospitalâ she informed Ki Bum, he grunted. The other boy helped her prop the boy and took him up.Â
A few minutes later the three men accompanied them and took the boy from her arms.Â
âYou were impressive back thereâ she complimented, eyeing the three men.
âSo were you, who are you again?â the loud man asked.
âJust a good Samaritanâ she excused.Â
âWell I am Shi Jin, this is Dae Young and last thatâs Gwang Namâ he introduced. The men didn't acknowledge her as they were holding onto a barely conscious teenager. But Gwang Nam gave her a small smile.Â
They rushed back to the emergency room, Yoo Ji was about to leave them in the lobby to get back to her stuff, but someone in a military uniform caught her eye, she realized that it was Myung Ju, a military surgeon who did her residency in Haesung Hospital, they were acquaintances, since Yoo Ji spends most of her time at the hospital. She walked up to the girl.
âHey, what are you doing here?â Yoo Ji asked Myung Ju, breaking her out of her daze.
âOh my god, you still hang out around here?â Myung Ju broke eye contact with Dae Young. Yoo Ji noticed how tense both Myung Ju and Dae Young were. She shrugged it off and guessed that they knew each other. The three men walked away, and nurses Ha and Choi met them halfway, taking the patient and laying him down.
âYeah, the biggest scoops are always hiding in the upper levels of this hospitalâ Yoo Ji jokes. Yoo Ji wasnât a doctor, she was a journalist with a creative writing passion, but her work led her to come here often thus her hanging out around the hospital was for her information of VIPâs and other stories because of their amazing doctors and emergency team. She was a pretty involved person, she volunteered in other countries and wrote the best stories. Although she does cover some pretty serious worldwide topics, she had gotten on her bossâs bad side lately so he sent her to get information about the VIPs.Â
âYou haven't changed one bit from the last time I saw youâ Myung Ju smiled, Yoo Ji realized that she did so out of politeness, Myung Ju looked like she was in a hurry.
âAlright, I wonât hold you up anymore, I am sure you're busy,â Yoo Ji said, Myung Ju nodded and excused herself.Â
Yoo Ji went to check on the progress of Ki Bum getting treated. Instead what she found was much more amusing. Mo Yeon was being relentless in her accusations of Shi Jin and Gwang Nam, assaulting the poor boy.
âMo Yeon, give it a rest, they didn't beat him up, heâs involved with this gang and they beat him up for wanting to leaveâ Yoo Ji interrupted as Mo Yeon threatened to call the police.Â
âYoo Ji, youâre here again, and why should I believe you?â she questioned.
âI was there, I even got a few punches inâ Yoo Ji smiled and winked at the doctor, who couldn't help but chuckle.Â
âRight because Iâll believe the creative journalist that loves to exaggerate her storiesâ Mo Yeon playfully jabbed but Yoo Ji knew that Mo Yeon doesnât believe her.Â
âI am not, check the CCTVâ Yoo Ji suggested. Mo Yeon nodded and started walking towards the securityâs office when Shi Jin caught up with her. Yoo Ji rolled her eyes, she can tell he had taken a liking to her, although Yoo Ji didn't understand why as Mo Yeon was trying to call the police on him.
Yoo Ji didn't follow them out as she knew that Mo Yeon is hard-headed and nothing she says will change her mind, but as she turned around she found the tall man, Gwang Nam staring at her. Yoo Jiâs cheeks flared red, she couldn't help but admit that he was handsome.
She pivoted around and followed her doctorâs friend to the CCTV room. She already knows the way as sheâs been there a lot. As soon as she arrived she found Mo Yeon reacting extremely to the footage.Â
âOh my gosh!â she blinked rapidly and was entranced by the screen. Yoo Ji chuckled, catching Shi Jinâs attention for a second, his equally amused face acknowledged her.Â
âJust like that!â Mo Yeon squealed as she saw Shi Jin hit two of the boys in the same time. She then pointed at him and back to the screen. Then came the part where Yoo Ji came in and Mo Yeonâs wide eyes soon caught Yoo Jiâs.Â
âOmo, I am friends with such a cool person!â she gleefully said. Yoo Ji laughed as she saw her friendâs excited face.Â
âYour awesome friend has to leave because she has to go report for work, but next time doesnât accuse me of exaggerating, I can make your murder look like an accident!â Yoo Ji called out with a chuckled waving bye to her friend. Shi Jin raised an eyebrow at her strange farewell.Â
They leave together and Mo Yeon finds out that Shi Jin is injured. She helps patch him up as well as flirt.
Back at the base, the Alpha team gathered in their room and were fooling around. Gwang Nam was dressing up the two plush bears that Shi Jin and Dae Young brought back from the arcade. Dae Young just came back from his run, to a sight. Shi Jin was putting up two identical uniforms against his body.Â
âDeputy Team Leader, which one should I wear?âÂ
âWhere are you going dressed so prettily?â Dae Youngâs sarcastic tone made Shi Jin frown at him with a fake pout.
âI am going to Haesung the day after tomorrow to get my wound cleaned,â he told him.Â
âThe medical corp is right here but he insists on traveling an hour and a half to get his wound treated,â Woo Geun explained to Dae Young.Â
âHaesung has the best medical team and my body needs to be healthy in order to defend the motherland!â Shi Jin voiced out his reasoning.
âThe doctor is prettyâ Dae Young and Gwang Nam stated at the same time, making Woo Geun and Cheol Ho burst out in laughter.
âThere are no pretty doctors in the medical corpsâ Shi Jin excused.
âYes, there isâ Dae Young refuted.
âOh! I know who youâre talking about! Its First Lieutenant Yoon Myung Ju, right?â Cheol Ho said excitedly. Gwang Nam and Woo Geun looked at each other worriedly.
âBut I heard that she was dumped harshly by the guy she was datingâ Cheol Ho kept on going, âwhoever the guy is I want to see his faceâ he was caught off by Gwang Nam and Woo Eun when they put up the mirror Cheol Ho was holding, in front of his face, to stop him from saying any more. Shi Jin communicated with Dae Young with his eyes, âif you just continued dating her instead of running away, he wouldnât be in this positionâ, Dae Young narrowed his eyes at his friend.
Shi Jin goes to his date and Dae Young accompanies him to pay the hospital fees for Ki Bum, he doesnât get to see Mo Yeon as she was in the operating room all day, she calls him and they reschedule but they donât go as he has to leave because he has a mission in Afghanistan.Â

WARLOCK FIEND Patron - TIEFLING Baalzebub heritage - City watch (Investigator)*
I know, a tiefling with a fiend patron is kind of clichĂŠ, but thatâs what my random generator gave me. I just embraced what the tarots decided later on too. I think people that like to play grayer character will like this one, because if you have to go for clichĂŠ, might as well go all in, right? (PS: anybody notices a pattern with the tarots in the photo? Or is the quality too crappy?)
Name: Djitha (28 yo)
TAROTS
Mind: Seven of swords (upright) A card about mental manipulation as âmindâ is a pretty harsh introduction. But I know some players enjoy very much playing these âon the line of being a bad guyâ kind of characters. Anyway, despite that first impression of lies and trickery, letâs not forget that thereâs as well an undertone of adaptability and sharp wit connected to this tarot. So despite it all, Djitha is very clever in the way she deceits people. She plans, she tries to always be a step ahead of the game, which is probably how she gets away with her bad deeds.
Body: Eight of cups (reversed) I usually relate this card to a low of self-esteem, but in Djithaâs case I feel like itâs more likely that all of the manipulating she does kind of made her forget to actually focus on her own emotions. She might be the kind of person that hides behind her lies for fear of being rejected, sure that thereâs nothing interesting about her true self. So, at the end of the day we actually come back to some latent self-esteem issues in a roundabout way⌠For some reason I also had this very strong feeling that she would be the kind of person that strongly dislikes any kind of physical contact. Â
Spirit: Knight of cups (reversed) And we even get an explanation for her âbodyâ issues. A broken heart by another manipulator, someone that got her in a very unhealthy relationship and broke her âspiritâ to the point that she decided that she wanted to become just like them so that nobody else would play her like that ever again. Full circle back to âmindâ. This card also tells me that sometimes Djitha jumps to conclusions and has tantrums, so despite how smart she is and how much she plans⌠well, maybe she isnât that wise after all.
Past: Five of pentacles (upright) Not surprising that in the past of poor Djitha thereâs a tarot that is very much about hardship, bad luck and breakups. Itâs pretty obvious that her life was not easy in the past but her background connected to this tarot and to her tendency to lie, made me really think that she had both a hard childhood, a nasty abusive relationship in her teen years, AND some kind of scandal related to her work when she was a grown up because of her manipulations and lies.
Present: Two of pentacles (reversed) This card just confirmed my suspicions. The poor decisions she has made in the past probably left poor Djitha in a bit of a pickle financially speaking. And for a person like her that really likes to feel like she has control of everything, even a little setback is kind of a big deal that would make her spiral even more in tantrums and uncontrollable fits of rage for the things she doesnât know how to control. Sheâs probably in the âtrying too hardâ phase after that mess. Which would probably mean lying a lot but in a very careful way (so, not a lot of speaking, really), lots of brooding and thinking way too loud (but overall a lack of actual organisation), and maybe a short fuse on those tantrums.
Future: The Moon (reversed) Once again, full circle and right back to the top. She will get out of that funk in the future, but it kind of seems it could go in two ways: either by deceiving even herself that everything is gonna be okay because her lies have already been discovered and she can build some new one on the ashes of those, or by actually admitting the truth and living with the consequences of her actions. Still, the major point of this tarot is that sheâll soon be dealing with mental issues. And I already pointed out how many Djitha has, of course. So, my suggestion is that whatever ends up happening while playing, this decision on which path to follow should also very much be related to how much her fears and issues are explored with the other members of the party.Â

Djitha was pretty much rejected from birth by her family. Her parents were both humans, and despite having two older sisters, Minea and Lahrysa, she was the only member of the Elair family of infernal heritage. Her father Haluk especially blamed Djitha for the sickness that made her mother Riette die prematurely when Djitha was just three years old. Haluk somehow also found a way to blame her for their life on the street, despite that being the way they always lived, dirt poor since Djitha had memory. Despite the hate she received from her family, Djitha was easily loved by others around her, especially because she quickly learned how to be a people-pleaser and how much she could gain if she just smiled a little bit even to those she didnât necessarily like. It also helped to keep a semblance of peace with her father, who was pleased when she brought back food or some coin when she begged in front of shops. When she was around fourteen, her father pretty much abandoned her because he thought she was adult enough to feign for herself. Already used to a life of begging, Djitha was convinced that she could become a thief, but she was quickly caught red handed; like always, it was her attitude of manipulating the truth and people that got her out of the situation. She convinced the chief of the city guards that she could be more useful working for them, investigating the less reputable areas and reporting back suspicious activities, since she was so well know and loved. Because of her job and the sense of fulfillment she felt when she helped the guards to catch criminals, Djitha got involved with a man, Temithope Paquet, a bit of a celebrity of the local criminal syndicate (almost a criminal right under the nose of the guards that could not be caught because proof against him always had a way of being misplaced). He was way older than her, but Djitha was sure that she couldnât be fooled by him. Either because Temithope was very good at persuading people, or because she was very young and lonely, Djitha actually fell for him pretty quickly and became his pawn that would give information on the guards activities so that the syndicate could do whatever they pleased. It only took a couple of months of abusive relationship filled with demeaning comments, before eavesdropping on one of his conversations with someone else from the syndicate made Djitha decide that enough was enough. Djitha finally saw how empty all of Temithopeâs promises of easy riches and power were, and decided that she would no longer be his plaything. Trying to seek revenge, Djitha actually convinced the chief of the city watch that she had been trying to play the long-con with Temithope and gave them a bunch of proof of all the nasty things Temithope been doing in those months. With her abuser finally behind bars (despite him promising revenge for it), she was allowed to become officially part of the investigation team. At first Djitha thought that she would find a new purpose in her career. But she soon found out that she was still considered a nobody and that trying to do things âthe right wayâ, by following the rules wasnât gonna get her anything (especially nor riches neither power). Unlike breaking them, which she had somewhat positive experience with overal (she could actually order around people when she was under Temithopeâs protection). So she started, once again, working with the criminals in the city. Djitha was sure she was doing alright; people in the guards were happy with her tips on meaningless goons while she protected people in high places in the criminal hierarchy. Everything was fine, and she was starting to grow a reputation again, until, during a massive investigation with people undercover, she was finally sussed out. Desperate to get out of town and find a way to keep being hidden, it was easy for Djitha to accept the offer her patron made her to give her the power she so desperately craved and that surely would keep her out of jail. She had things to do for her patron now, after all, it was in her patronâs interest to keep are hiddenâŚ
SUGGESTION CORNER
Suggested features Ability scores: High Charisma and Intelligence, Low Wisdom and Strength Skill proficiencies: Deception, Intimidation. *Instead of Insight from the Investigator Background, talk with your DM and ask if you could go for either Stealth or proficiency in thievesâ tools; I feel like it fits better with the complete story of being involved with criminals so much. Others: I suggest either pact of the Chain or pact of the Tome. I do think this character would be a very nice multiclass wizard, but spellcasting multiclass is kind of a pain, so I get why you might want to stay away from a thing like that. I decided not to go into details on the Patron. Itâs very much a matter to be discussed with the DM in my opinion, so I kept as vague as possible on that matter.
Suggested Characteristics Trait: I think money is the true measure of appreciation and affection. Everything else is talk or an act. Ideal: Money and power can be gained more easily with a fake smile than a real opinion. I plan to gain as much as possible. Bond: My past mistakes cost me dearly. Iâm actually, maybe, a little on the run for a crime. Flaw: People who canât take care of themselves get what they deserve (something she actually âlearnedâ from that abusive relationship and VERY MUCH applies to herself most of all).

â how can i hear what goes on twelve feet above my head ? â
* âĘžâ â° adria arjona, cis female, she/her âą i think i just saw ANITA MORENO walk across trafalgar square, singing to YO PERREO SOLA ( BAD BUNNY ). you know, the TWENTY-FIVE year old SEAMSTRESS? people claim that they are just like ANITA from WEST SIDE STORY. it must be because they are LOYAL and OUTSPOKEN as well⌠though i could be wrong. all i know for sure is that they live at PETERSBURG apartment.â
hello hello, here i come with my second child !! iâm puerto rican, so west side story was my introduction to musical theatre, and anita has always been one of my favorite characters. this intro is very all over the place, but iâm super excited to be writing her, so hmu if you wanna plot !!
[ tw: sexual assault ]
her full name is ana josefina del carmen moreno rivera. disregard her supposed name in the show. i love wss, but itâs time to get rid of all those latinx stereotype ( yes, we have a lot of names but not that many ).
she was born in san juan, puerto rico, and moved to new york city when she was 12. her parents were struggling economically. work was hard to find and they had four mouths to feed ( anita being the oldest ), and new york promised more jobs and better salaries.
at first, she was optimistic about her new life in the big apple. she was bored with life in her little island and ( like many other puerto ricans ) saw america as the land of opportunity. she quickly realized just how wrong she was.
things werenât easy, breezy, beautiful in new york. she became disenchanted with the american dream, and grew up angry and resentful as she watched her parents work their asses off and were paid a fraction of what their white coworkers got.
she realized that as long as her skin wasnât white, as long as she had an accent, as long as her name was anita, she wouldnât fit into her new home.
basically, take âamericaâ and throw it in the trash.
she decided she wouldnât go out of her way to fit in. she was never the kind of person who would change to make others comfortable. she wouldnât make herself smaller to appease those around her. sheâs unapologetically herself and sheâs damn proud of that.
as the oldest, it was anitaâs job to help around the house. she often took care of her siblings while their parents worked, making sure they were all well fed and out of danger. and, as soon as she was old enough, she went to work.
she was a maid, a waitress, a babysitter, an usher. she handed out flyers at the park. she answered phones at a call center. you name it, sheâs probably done it. anything to lessen her parentsâ burden.
getting a job as a seamstress was a blessing; she was skilled and passionate at what she did. her mother taught her to sew when she was still a girl, and itâs whatâs kept her afloat all these years.
she met the sharks in her early teens, and sheâs forever grateful to them. she met a group of people who made her feel like she belonged. she didnât care that they were a gang; they needed to protect themselves from those who saw them as outsiders.
she fell in love with bernardo in her teens. that has never changed and sheâs sure it never will, but they clash constantly, breaking up and getting back together. she adores him, but she also wants to hit him with a chair sometimes.
at the moment sheâs enjoying the single life.
tw sexual assault: sheâs always enjoyed the sharksâ protection, but at 16 it became clear to her that she needed to protect herself as well. she was walking home late one night after the restaurant where she was working had closed, when three boys surrounded her and cornered her in an alley. she knew what they had in mind, but she just froze. her body couldnât react to what was happening. at the very last minute, it did, and she made enough of a racket to scare them off. she ran back home. she vowed never to depend on anyone else to save her.
she graduated high school and started working full time at the shop, practically running it. it was her life. a few years ago, she heard from one of her coworkers that someone they knew was opening a shop in london, and anita jumped at the opportunity. sheâd outgrown new york. plus, sheâd always wanted to travel, but never had the money. this was the perfect chance.
anitaâs a taurus, with maybe an aries rising. juryâs still out.
sheâs always the mom friend of the group. sheâll nag you and force you to eat your vegetables, drink water and use moisturizer.
she loves to dance, she constantly begs her friends ( especially maria ) to go out with her. sheâs convinced thereâs nothing that canât be fixed by a night out with the girls.
she can recreate pretty much any article of clothing by just looking at it; she doesnât need a pattern. you see a dress you like at some shop? canât afford it? anita will make it for you.
her apartment is full of plants. all kinds. sheâs got a green thumb and sheâll yell at you for thinking succulents are easy to take care of.
she has a small shoplifting problem. itâs nothing major. promise.
sheâs a huge bad bunny stan. that might sound like itâs not important, but it is, to me.
here is her pinterest !!
and here is her playlist !!
super open to any type of connections, so just slide into my dms or message me on discord @alexandra cabot stan account#4945 !!
give me friends, coworkers, friendly neighbors, not so friendly neighbors, fellow plant people, clients, crushes, dates, exes other than bernardo ( gasp ! ), go crazy !!

MASTERLIST
Y/N pulled her mask to secure it around her face and adjust her black trench coat around her body. Its going to be a long day today, she can already feel it.
"You ready?" She smile behind the mask and nodded her head to the girl next to her, her most loyal assistant and pushed her sunglasses on.
"Lets go," the assistant ushered her out. Y/N takes a deep breath and steps out from her private plane. She secretly thanked god for the invention of private planes, or else she wont know how her tired body is ever going to able to cope. She's been basically living on air and airport to airport for the last six months with her hectic schedule thats being planned for all around the world. Looking back, its funny how just a few years back she have to save up all her money for months just for an economy ticket to Jeju and now she owns not one but two private jets and have a whole entourage walking out behind her. She walks out and lifted her head to sniff the fresh air that smells so familiar and she badly missed.
She's finally back home.
After five most tiring years of her life, shes back.
Shes finally back after she swore to herself five years ago that she wont ever step her foot in her home country ever again before she made it big.
She work night and day to achieve that dream, believing and knowing that someday she will be able to fly home again.
They start walking into the airport and she can already hear the faint screams of her fans. Barriers are already set up along the walkway from her plane to the car and security dressed in black lined up, ready to protect her if need be. Once the main arrival door opened, the screams got so loud and the crowd was overwhelming. She took in her surrounding and saw the whole airport is deck out with her fans, screaming and shouting her name, she felt bad for the other people who is unfortunate enough to fly out at this airport today. She look around and some fans are even crying, some are holding cardboard cards with her name on it and shoving flowers and gifts towards her, which her assistants happily accepted on her behalf. Her managers used to tell her that its dangerous to get close to the fans just to accept their gifts, but Y/N insisted that they do. The fans worked hard to make or buy the gifts, especially for her. The least she could do for these people who made her who she is today is to accept it with a smile and an open heart.
Afterall, without them, L/N Y/N is just another ordinary girl from a small little town.
Ordinary.
Regular. Common.
"We cant do this anymore. I...I mean, I cant do this anymore," he gather all courage and try to look into her eyes. What he sees is clear  pain and sadness. "I'm sorry Y/N. I love you. But... my career doesnt allow me to be with somebody... ordinary,"
"Ordinary?" She mumbled the words. Yes, she knows she is just a normal university student who everyday life only includes attending classes and a part time job in a student's cafe. She doesnt go on tours or spend her days in studios and practice room. But... does Jungkook, the love of her life Jungkook, who was supposed to make her feel special, need to call her ordinary? Y/N looked down at her attire and self conciousness starts to overwhelm her. Jungkook looks like a God with his perfectly fitted skinny ripped jeans and white shirt, paired with a leather jacket and here she sat, in last night's overside shirt and worn out shorts. She starts to pull on her shirt, adjusting it and tucking her hair, trying to make her look more 'less' ordinary, feeling self concious about her looks.
"I... I know I'm just a normal girl, but we are in love... arent we? Does it really matter to you that I'm just someone living an ordinary life?"
"I do love you... but Y/N... its something I have to do. I need someone who is more suited for me,"
Y/N shakes her head to clear the painful memory from her mind and picked up her pace to get to the car faster. She only just landed and she already feeling extremely exhausted, wanting nothing more than to get into the hotel and rest her tired mind away as fast as she could.
/////
"You have this first week free Y/N, before the landslide of schedule comes in. What do you want to do?" Meen A smile at her. Meen A is one of her oldest assistant. She was with her when she was just a young, naive, ordinary girl, and with the years they have spend together, she quickly become her best friend rather than her assistant. "Shopping? Spa? Facial? Walking around? Or just sleeping?" she chuckles. Y/N giggle. Sleeping does sound tempting. She rarely have enough time to sleep as it is. But... she has another exciting plan to execute.
"Do you even have to ask?" They look at each other before squealing at the same time.
"Food!"
/////
They walked along the busy street hand in hand, Y/N wrapped in her masked, coat and scraf, sunglasses donning her face to conceal her identity.
"Do you really think people wont recognize you with this silly getup?" Meen A eyes her before looking at the people walking who are already whispering.
"They wont! Im not that well known! Besides, they are just looking because who wear black clothes that covers almost everything in the middle of summer," Meen A rolled her eyes.
"Are you kidding me? You are currently the world No 1 celebrity! You are the most sought after multi talented singer, composer, actress, director, entrepeneur, model, fashion icon and girl next door rolled in one!" She exclaimed. "You hang out with Taylor Swift! You walk the runway with Kendall Jenner! Tyra Banks invited you to tea and Drake to his album launch! Even Justin Bieber tried to make a move on you. I cant barely keep up with your social calendar. Everybody wants to be you or be with you! How is that not considered a No 1 celebrity?"
"Stop exaggareting! They are just my friends! I'm not all that and you know it,"
"No. You stop being so humble! You are all that and you know it" Meen A huffed in frustration, as she always does whenever they have this conversation, making Y/N smile. "I think you are the only celebrity in this world who didnt let all your fame and riches get over you head. You are really great. But I always wonder why,"
"There's a special someone that I once met and there's just something that he told me that stays in my heart. His words hit me hard and after all these years, I believe he has a point," Y/N smile softly at the memory. Â "And I want nothing more than to just be an ordinary girl,"
Her mind drifted back to the day he met that particular stranger. The day that mark the changing of the rest of her life for good.
/////
"Lets eat here! Its secluded and not many people around. Also, I heard they served the best food here!" Meen A pulled her hand into a restaurant and they took a table at a back corner. This restaurant was said to be popular among celebrities and is often frequented by them.
"Oh my god. Isnt that-" Meen A gasps in excitement when they make their way to the back table, making Y/N raised her head from shoving her mask and sunglass inside her bag and look at what is making her friend so happy. She looks up to find seven pair of eyes with a table filled with food, all looking at the two of them. She was confused as her eyes roamed to each and every one of them.
Who are they? Are they someone well known too?
Y/N doesnt really update herself about the celebrities and the music industry in her home country. Not because she thinks she's too good for them. No, not at all. Its because she didnt want to know about a certain someone. She doesnt want to know anything at all.
"But... my career doesnt allow me to be with somebody... ordinary,"
And that certain someone is looking straight back at her as her eyes falls on the seventh person on the table.
"-Bangtan!" Meen A squeal.
Y/N automatically starts to panic as she tries to grabs Meen A, dragging her out from there, surpising her friend who was too caught up with the shocmed of finally meeting her favorite idol.
Jungkook quickly rise from his seat the moment her eyes catches his. The eyes that is so familiar, too familiar. The eyes that he has been looking for for the past five years. Seeing how panic she is and how she started to reached out for her friend and make her exit immediately, Jungkook rushed over and grabbed her hand, the rest of his hyungs watching in confusion and amazement.
What is going on?
"Y/N! Wait. Please. Plesase I'm begging you. Wait," he pleads, but Y/N maintained her head looking at the ground, her body slightly shaking and Jungkook realized she is crying. Meen A finally snapped herself out from the shocked and held onto Jungkook's arm that's holding her hand.
"Sir... I think its best you let her go,"
"No," Jungkook shakes her head, frowning and desperate. "I cant. I wont be able to see her again. Please Y/N. Look at me. Talk to me," he turned towards Y/N and beg. Meen A sense the distress her friend is feeling and her hold on Jungkook's arm tighten.
"You have to let her go. Now. Or else I have no other choice but to call Miss Y/N's security team,"
"No. No. There is no need for that," Namjoon is immediately by their side, smiling his dimpled smile at Meen A. "Im sorry. I dont know what is going on with our maknae. But we will let her go now. Jungkook, let go of her hand," his voice is filled with dominance that Jungkook shakes a little. Its rare to see Namjoon like this. Only during times when he knew he had screwed up big times. And apparently today is one of the time.
"Now, Jungkook,"
"But hyung..."
Y/N's body shakes even more although she kept her head low and turned, not wanting to see even a strand of hair that belongs to Jungkook. Everything about him hurts her and reminds her of the heart break she felt that she had never really recovered from. Meen A began to worry. Y/N is slowly starting to go into hyperventilation.
How does she know Bangtan? She never speak of them before? And what makes her so scared of the maknae? So many questions filled Meen A mind but her hand is quicker as she dialled the other manager who is with the car. Y/N might think that she is able to walk freely, but little did she know that with her mega celebrity status, her manager and security team is always only a few step behind, hidden, whenever she goes out.
Specifically for an emergency occasion like this.
"Kookie... I think you should let go okay. We promise we will get to see her again," Taehyung stood up and try to persuade the determined maknae. He dont know who Jungkook is clinging on to but it seems that the girl is trying her very best to get away from him.
"How do you know hyung? I...I," Jungkook's eyes are already glazed with unshed tears. He cant let go. Not now, when he finally gets her back.
"I know... uh because we will contact this Miss and we will meet them again!" Namjoon quickly came out with something and look at Meen A for help, who nodded her agreement quickly.
"Here is my card. Call me and make an appointment to see Miss Y/N. But for now, please let her go," she tugged on Jungkook's hand who finally lets go. Y/N immediately ran out of the restaurant before Jungkook could say anything.
"Uh thank you. Just... call. If you need anything," Meen A ran out immediately only to find Y/N collapsed on the sidewalk not far fron the restaurant, crying her eyes out.
Oh, Y/N. What happened to you?
"What the hell was that Kook?!" Namjoon yelled at him the moment Y/N and Meen A ran out of the restaurant. "You cant just grab random people like that!"
"Yeah, especially girls who look deathly afraid of you," Yoongi added from the table.
"She's not a random girl..." Jungkook managed to meekly defend himself.
"Yes. She is definitely not random. She's L/N Y/N, the mega superstar. She could sue us and Tae would have to sell every Gucci he owns to pay for it, and that still wont be enough! What are you thinking Kookie?" Hoseok yelled out from across the table.
"Shit. That's the Y/N?" Namjoon turned to Hoseok who nodded. Just realizing with whom they just encountered. "I didnt get to see her face clearly just now,"
"She's not just Y/N to me..." Jungkook explained, head bowed down to the table. The rest of his hyungs looks at him curiously. "She's my first love,"
"What?!"
The rest of the boys starts to bombared him with questions. Demanding the maknae to explain everything that happened between him and Y/N.
During the commotion, they didnt realized that there is someone who is still repeating the recent event in his head, throughly trying to memorize the face that she tried to hide from them. Taehyung is still staring at the door where Y/N just ran out from, his mind spinning, lost in thoughts.
Why does it feel like I have known her before?
/////
"Are you okay? What happened back there?" Meen A turned her body to face her friend who is now wrapped in a blanket curled up in a ball on her bed. It took her a while to dragged Y/N from the sidewalk and coaxed her to stop crying, before the by standers who started to give them weird looks recognized who she is. Y/N was short on breath and panicking the whole time and Meen A was worried to death. She had never seen her like this. Not even before one of her biggest performace. She was always calm, happy and all smiles.
What does Jeon Jungkook have, or possibly did, that could possibly make her like this?
"Y/N? Dont you want to tell me?" She asks softly, as she slides into bed beside her, hands carressing her hair. "I have never seen you like this. Im worried. Can you please tell me what happened?" She tries again and is still met with silenced. Meen A takes a deep breath and reluctantly asks the question that she knew could trigger her best friend.
"Is it... something to do with Jeon Jungkook?
At the sound of his name Y/N turned around and hug her tight, tears wetting her tshirt as she starts to cry again. Meen A just hugged her back and wait until she calms down. Whatever happened between them must have broken her into pieces.
"He... he," she tried to spit out the words between sobs. "He... Jung...Jungkook... is my first love,"
"What?" Meen A's eyes widen. How come she didnt know about this? Y/N was in a relationship with a member of such a well known group? "What happen then Y/N? You can tell me..."
"He broke my heart Meen A," she raised her head and stare straight into her eyes. She can see the hurt and pain in Y/N's eyes so vivid and clear, it gives chills down to her spine. "He broke my heart and changed my life forever,"
People say that being a teenager in love is the best feeling in the world, and Y/N couldnt agree more. She was only 15 when she and Jungkook got together. After countless exchange of shy smiles and late night texts, Jungkook finally found his courage and ask her to be his under a starless sky.Their relationship was strong and happy, even when Jungkook was accepted as a trainee, nothing seem to change for them.
"Nothing will change. I promise. Maybe I wont be able to see you or call you as much as before, but I love you Y/N, wait for me. I will come back for you and make you proud," was the promise Jungkook made her and the promise that she strongly held on too. True to his promise, Jungkook never forgets her, he still comes home to see her whenever he could, spending sleepless nights kissing and holding each other tight.
The success came to Jungkook and his group like rapid fire the moment they debuted, and soon enough his schedule was packed to the brim. Y/N maintained her ordinary life as an ordinary teenager, getting a placed in one of the country top university give her the opportunity to move to town and be closer to Jungkook. Their relationship, although always comes second to Jungkook's career, is still filled with loved and happiness. Y/N was too drunk in love and consumed with happiness that she doesnt care that Jungkook has to hide their relationship, or the fact that he barely has time for her. She thought they would last forever. She thought his love for her would be enough to last them till eternity.
But everything change one fateful day.
She hasnt seen him for months since he was on tour, a normal occurance when you are dating a celebrity. What's not normal is Jungkook seems to call her less, replied to her text less and doesnt seem too excited to hear her voice whenever she managed to call him. She shrugged it off as exhaustion and think nothing of it. They have been together for so long, its already his fourth year after debut. There couldnt possibly be anything wrong right?
"Kookie!" She jumped on him for a kiss the moment he entered but he dodged her, making her confused for a moment before shrugging it off. Maybe he is just tired. They havent seen one another for months now and he is finally back from tour! She miss him so much. "Where's your luggage?" She looks behind him to see nothing.
"I..ah left it at the dorm," he rubbed the back of his neck.
"Why? You are not staying over tonight?"
"Listen... about that. I have to tell you something," he held her hand and lead her to the couch. They sat with their body turned to faced each other.
"What's wrong Kookie? Did something happen? Is everyone okay?" Jungkook just look at her face. The face he knows he's going to miss so much after today.
"Everyone's alright," he answered softly. "Y/N... you know how much recognition Bangtan is getting now right?" She nodded and smile. She couldnt hide how happy and proud she is for him, although nobody knows her relation with the maknae.
"And you know how our every move is being watch right?"
"Yes..." Where is Jungkook going with this?
"I dont think we can hide our relationship anymore," Y/N's eyes widen and sparkle.
"Kookie, are you saying we should go public?" She squeals. "I can finally do boyfriend things with you! I had always wanted to go to the park and watch the city from the top of the ferris wheels with you!" That was her only wish. She didnt want to ride on Jungkook's popularity. She just wants to be in love and spend time with her boyfriend like everybody else does. That is the only thing she ever wanted from him.
"Urm... no Y/N.I'm sorry but that's not what I meant..." her face fell.
"Oh. Its okay Kookie," she let out a small smile. "Then what is it?"
"Listen... urmmm," Jungkook hesitates. "It wont be a problem if any one of us is caught dating. Our fans can accept that now," Y/N kept silent and focus on listening. "Who we are dating is going to be the problem,"
Y/N starts to feel anxious and felt her hear beats faster. What is he implying?
"What are you trying to say Jungkook?"
Jungkook looks like a God with his perfectly fitted skinny ripped jeans and white shirt, paired with a leather jacket and here she sat, in last night's oversize shirt and worn out shorts. She starts to pull on her shirt, adjusting it and tucking her hair, trying to make her look more 'less' ordinary, feeling self concious about her looks.
"Y/N, stop. Please. That is not what I meant..." he grabbed her hand to stop her from covering herself from him. Maybe she wont believe him, but it pains him too to see her this way, hurt and on the brink of crying. But its just something he has to do.
"I... I know I'm just a normal girl, but we are in love... arent we? Does it really matter to you that I'm just someone living an ordinary life?"
"I do love you... but Y/N... its something I have to do. I need someone who is more suited for me," The moment he said it, Jungkook regret it. That is not definitely how he wanted the words to come out.
"More suited?" Her voice cracked. Years they have been together, and her status as a normal girl is apparently more important to him than their feelings. Well, maybe its just her. Maybe Jungkook has lost all feelings for her after all those years he debuted. After all, he met thousands of beautiful celebrities that is 'more suited' for him.
"Y/N..."
"No... its okay.I think you have made yourself perfectly clear. I'm too common. Too regular. Too ordinary to be with you... Jeon  Jungkook, the Golden Maknae of Bangtan, the most popular band right now. Its okay Jungkook, I get it," with that she gave one small smile and walked out, trying her best not to let the tears spilled. But who is she kidding? Jungkook has owned her heart from the moment she even know what love is, and now... he has broken it in every way possible.
"What. A. Fucking. Asshole!" Meen A is fuming with anger once Y/N finished her story. "Does he thinks he is all that?! He is just a singer and a dancer! I'm going to beat his ass up when I see him, that fucking asshole!" Y/N giggled at her friend between her tears.
"Its okay Meen A. It was five years ago. Its his life... I cant force him to love me,"
"But Y/N!" Meen A whined. "Why are you so nice?!" She huffed. "So... did you become this successful because you want to prove him wrong and make him eat his words? He must be crying seeing you now!"
Y/N giggled again. Meen A never fails to fascinates her. She shakes her head.
"Actually no. Contrary to that, its actually the opposite. I didnt want to know about anything in the industry anymore. I didnt update myself about anyone well know, mostly because it reminds me that I'm just ordinary, like Jungkook puts it, and also I didnt want to see him,"
"Then, what made you become... this?" Meen A motioned to her.
"I met a stranger one day. And that was the day my life changed forever," she smile.
She was crying as she finally found a bench in the quiet park. After months of being able to avoid hearing about any news regarding Jungkook, which is very hard since he is really popular, it finally come to her knowledge that Jungkook is now dating another maknae from a popular girl group. Her classmates has forcefully showed her the article, of course, not knowing the history she had with the said man and she cant help but feel her heart clenched at the sight of Jungkook happily kissing a pretty girl.
The girl is beautiful, and Y/N bet she is multi talented too. She is perfect for him. Special, wanted and definitely not ordinary.
"What are you crying for?" A voice from behind her startled her, only then she realized that someone has already occupied the bench that is placed back to back with hers. She turned her head and saw a man with a hat and masked secured on his face. She couldnt see his face clearly, but his piercing gaze is enough to fascinates her. However, there is a clear sadness in his eyes.
"I could ask you the same thing," she whispered back.
"If I tell you my story will you tell yours? I just need someone to talk to," Y/N contemplate for a moment and finally agreed to it. He is a stranger. She will never see him again anyway.
"My fan- urgh I mean my friends expected so much from me. I'm tired of it. I'm still just a normal man. Why cant they see that?"
"But... if they believed in you, doesnt that mean you are not just an average guy to start with? There must be something about you that makes them expect so much from you,"
"I guess... but... I dont like it,"
"Isnt that a great thing?" Y/N raised her eyebrows to the masked man. "To be loved? For people to think you are special? Capable of doing things? Not just someone normal and ordinary?"
"Not for me. I dont want people to see me as someone extra ordinary. I am not. I am just being me. This is who I am. Sometimes I wish that I could just blend in with others and not stand out so much,"
"You are really funny," she chuckles. "In this world where everybody tried to be special, why do you want to be ordinary?"
"No. You are the funny one," he retorted and his sharp gaze look straight into her eyes. Y/N swear she has never seen a pair of eyes looks so beautiful. "Because in a world full of people trying to be special, what is so wrong to ordinary?"
"Wow... that's deep," Meen A exclaimed with her mouth wide open. "But still, what I dont get is how does that makes you want to be who you are now?"
"Well... after I went home that day, I started thinking and he was right. He made me feel that there is absolutely nothing wrong with being ordinary. You might think I become who I am today to prove a point, but no... I just want to send a message to everyone out there, that ordinary people can be and do anything they want too if they put their mind to it. Just because people see you as nothing special, that doesnt mean you are short on deserving anything,"
Meen A looks at her in awe. "You are really something Y/N,"
"I might be something... but I will never be enough for Jeon Jungkook," she smile sadly.
"Y/N... do you... perhaps still love him?" Y/N was silenced for a moment by the sudden question. Jeon Jungkook... Does she still loves him? Its a question that she herself is afraid to ask.
"I dont know Meen A. But all I know is that I could never hate him. He might break my heart to pieces... but he is also the one who taught me what love is..."
/////
Y/N is back.
Jungkook ran his hand across his face as he slide down on the floor. Its been a day since the incident at the restaurant and he is restless. He has been pressuring Namjoon to contact that girl who was supposed to set up an appointment with Y/N but Namjoon has been hesitating, saying he should clear his mind first. He doesnt need time to clear anything! He has been waiting to see her for five years and now she's finally home. He needs to see her now!
His last memory of her has haunt him for years and he needs to talk to her. Even for just a second.
"No... its okay.I think you have made yourself perfectly clear. I'm too common. Too regular. Too ordinary to be with you... Jeon  Jungkook, the Golden Maknae of Bangtan, the most popular band right now. Its okay Jungkook, I get it," with that she gave one small smile and walked out, trying her best not to let the tears spilled.
Jungkook sat on the couchof her apartment after she left, not moving even an inch for hours as he still try to register the fact that he broke Y/N's heart. To say he fully regret what he did wont be true, since a part of him knows Y/N is really too normal to be with him. But he loves her, that much is true, and seeing her hurt is too much for him to bear. He shakes his head to get rid of the feeling and leave the apartment, turning around one last time to say goodbye to the years of memories he had with his first love.
A month passed and all sadness and regret seems to leave Jungkook's mind when he started a relationship with one of the other maknaes from a girl group. He finally got what he wanted. Being in a relationship with someone who is at the same level as him. Yurin is beautiful and talented, Jungkook loves everything about her. The only problem is that he dont feel in love with her.
The kisses are great, nights spend together are amazing but something just seems off. They talked about their music and live the same lifestyle, there is nothing wrong with their relationship at all. But... she's not Y/N.
As time passes by, Jungkook starts to miss the ordinary things that Y/N do. He misses the days when she would talk about her classes, telling him things that he didnt get to experienced as a college students. He misses her stories of working at a student's cafe and how some days she has to starve herself with only instant noodle when the funds ran low. All he ever talk about with Yurin is the new comeback, which designer to wear to the award show and which expensive restaurant they should try next. There is nothing wrong with all that, really, but its the exact same life he's living. He already know all that. He dont need someone else to talk to him about it.
Jungkook only realized too late then, that Y/N being an ordinary girl is what makes their relationship works. They were the opposite, she is e eeythung he is not, and thats why she completes him.
He shouldnt care about what the society demand from him. Y/N didnt, he shouldnt have either. But its all too late when he found out Y/N is no longer living in her apartment or studying in the same college. She's gone and he didnt know where else to find her.
Until he sees her face on an international interview while he's channel surfing on one boring afternoon. Y/N still looks like the Y/N he knows. Beautiful, sweet, her innocent laugh filled the screen. But the way she talked, dressed and interact with the interviewer, amazed him. Jungkook cant take his eyes off her and continue to watch the show until the end. He learned then that Y/N has become an international sensation, a newly debuted singer/songwriter who is also on her way in making a name in the filming and modeling industry.
Y/N has become a mix of everything he had ever wanted.
And he has been trying to find a way to see her again ever since.
"Hey Kookie," Taehyung entered the practice room and slide down on the floor besides him. "Are you okay? You dont seem so well since what happened yesterday,"
"I am not okay hyung," Jungkook turned to faced Taehyung, face etched with sadness. "Y/N... I need to see her but Namjoon hyung is not letting me," Taehyung kept quiet and nibbled on his bottom lips, thinking.
"Kookie... I know you told us she is your first love. But if you dont mind... what happened to the two of you?" Taehyung is really curious about this Y/N girl and the only person who seems to know her personally is Jungkook. "She seems... terrified of you yesterday,"
Jungkook looked hurt by Taehyung's words. He already know that. When he dreamt about seeing Y/N again, he didnt think that she would hate him that much. Its as if she is scared of him. Scared that he will hurt her again. She dont even want to look at his face yesterday. That feeling... the feeling when someone you love is afraid of you, hates you, not even want to look at you... hurts, and Jungkook dont ever want to feel anything like that anymore.
"I... I break her heart into pieces hyung," Jungkook pushed all his pride aside and finally opened up to Taehyung about everything. When he finished his story with a sob, Taehyung was speechless.
"So you are saying... you two were dating during the years we all live together?!" Taehyung exclaimed. How is it possible that none of the boys found out the maknae is dating? "How did you managed to hide a girlfriend that well?"
"Really hyung? That's what important to you right now?" Jungkook give him the stink eye and he chuckle.
"Sorry. Sorry. But you know Kookie... her face and your story sounds familiar. I wonder if I have met her before?" Jungkook shakes his head.
"Im positive you didnt. I never brought her over to meet any of you guys. Maybe you just think you know her because her face fills up every magazine and tv shows you see?" Jungkook guess. He is pretty positive none of his hyung knows Y/N before she becomes well known.
"Nah... that's not it," Taehyung shakes his head. "Nevermind. I'm sure I will figured it out later,"
Before Jungkook can say anything else, the practice room door opened and walked in Namjoon, looking straight at him.
"Kook, your dream has come true,"
"What do you mean hyung?" Jungkook is confused.
"We are having a collaboration with Y/N while she's in Korea,"
/////
"What?! No, no, no, no,no, no!" Y/N slammed the schedule on the desk and wailed her hands around. This cant be happening. A collaboration with Bangtan? Two whole months of composing, performing, photo shoots and interviews with them? With Jeon Jungkook? This cant be real! "Why am I not informed about this earlier? I wouldnt have agreed to it if I knew!"
"But Y/N... you never go through your schedules before. You always leave it up to the management!" One the managers tries to explain. Y/N was neber demanding kr a diva, she is akways essy to managed. Seeing her like this scare him a bit. Why is she so hellbent on not doing the schedule with Bangtan? "Besides, Bangtan is one of the most successful group in the country right now and they really want to work with you! Its a great opportunity to make your mark here, in your home country,"
Y/N bite her bottom lip. Of course it makes sense when they say it like that. Y/n has rejected everything that has to do with her home country before. She didnt want to come back before she's ready. But now that she's here, she didnt think they would be the first thing on her schedule.
"Is there really no way for me to cancel?" She sighed weakly.
"I'm sorry sweetheart," the manager gave her a regretful smile. "but no,"
/////
"Y/N, these are the boys. Boys, this is Y/N," the staff introduced them once Y/N arrived on the set. She pushed her sunglasses up her forehead, smile and bowed to them, introducing herself and gave them their greeting, all the while avoiding eye contact with the doe eyed boy who is shamelessly staring at her. Â The older members introduced themselves first, making silly jokes in between to ease the tension that they can feel rising between Y/N and the maknae, but the time for Jungkook to introduced himself finally arrived.
"Hi Y/N. I'm Jeon Jungkook, but I think you already know that," he held out a hand and his bunny smile grew wider when Y/N accept the handshake. He held her hand tight and keeps on staring at her, the smile never leaving his face, making her squirm uncomfortably. Y/N tried to shake her hand lose but Jungkook only held on tighter, as in trying to enjoy every tingling sensation he felt from their touch.
He misses her so much.
"Ehem," Jungkook was broken from his trance and look to his left to see Taehyung looking at him, then their entertwined hands. "I think you can let go now Kook. Its my turn to introduced myself,"
Jungkook huffed and reluctantly lets go, not at all trying to conceal the fact that he was holding her hand hostage on purpose. "Hi," Taehyung flashed her his signature smile. Y/N swore he has never seen a smile so beautiful and sincere given to her before.
"H...hi," Shit, why did I stutter?
Taehyung laughs at how adorable she looks. "So cute," he mumble, making Y/N who heard it blushed hard and Jungkook frowned, sending his hyung a death glare. "I'm Kim Taehyung or V. But you can call me Tae. Nice to meet you Y/N,"
"You... you too Taeyang. I mean Taehyung. I mean Tae," Seriously, what is wrong with me? "Nice to meet you," she slowly brace herself and look into his eyes. Those sharp gaze... it looks so damn familiar.
Taehyung laughs again and shakes her hand. "I have to go with the boys but I will see you in a bit ya?"
Y/N quickly nodded as Taehyung drags Jungkook with him, living her sweaty and blushing. Jungkook who witness the whole exchange happening looks back from his hyung to Y/N and start to feel anxious.
Is something going on with those two?
Days spend with Bangtan passes by in a blur. They were a fun group to be with; funny and talented. There was never a dull moment with them. The best part is always whenever she gets some time alone with Taehyung. There's just something about him that never ceased to amaze her, fascinates her. She loves hearing his deep voice, his laughs, his weird views on things and his funny thoughts. Being able to see Taehyung was always the highlight of her day with Bangtan, and there's just something so familiar about him. About the way his piercing eyes looks at her. Its as if she has seen it before somewhere, some time, long ago. However, what Y/N dreaded the most was when she and Jungkook were left alone, as if it was planned by the boys. She will try her best to get out from the situation, leaving Jungkook who tried hard to get a chance to talk to her frustrated.
She had always managed to get out from the sticky situation until today. She was in the music room during one of their long breaks this time. The boys will usually hang out with each other in their own waiting room, so feeling bored, Y/N sneaked out and found a lone piano in a what she assumed is a music room and started playing one of the song she is currently working on. She only started playing a few lines when a voice surpised her.
"That's beautiful," she turned to her right to see Jungkook already seated down beside her on the piano bench. She immediately stood up, ready to leave but Jungkook pulled her back down.
"No. Please, stay. Can you play the rest of the song for me? Can I hear it? Please?" He plead, eyes looking straight into hers, bringing back both painful and beautiful memories she had tried to forget. Y/N hesitates as she looked around, wishing nothing more than for someone to come in and save her. But no one did and Jungkook is still gripping her hand and looking at her. "Please?"
"O..okay," she nodded her agreement and sat back down, fingers poised to play her song.
I really love the role I play The songs I sing But with all the fame The things that seem so simple Suddenly, so far out of reach Wish that they could see That underneath I'm just an ordinary girl! Sometimes I'm lazy I get bored, I get scared, I feel ignored, I feel happy I get silly, I choke on my own words. I make wishes, I have dreams, And I still want to believe, Anything can happen in this world For an ordinary girl! Like you like me For an ordinary girl Like you like me
The room waa silent when she finished playing. Jungkook felt a lump in his throat as the memory of him recklessly breaks her heart came back to him.
"But... my career doesnt allow me to be with somebody... ordinary,"
"Y/N..."
Y/N stopped him and smile before he could continue, already oredicting what he would be saying. "No Jungkook. Dont say anything. You dont need to say anything. I'm over it," she stood up and bowed, hastily trying to escape but Jungkook is too fast for her and grab her arm.
"But I'm not,"
"What?"
"I'm not over it Y/N. I'm not over you..."
"Stop joking around Jungkook. Its not funny!"
Jungkook stood up and turned her to face him. "I'm not. Y/N... I swear I'm not! Please listen to me first," Jungkook pleaded. "What I did, what I said, everything was wrong. A mistake," Y/N shakes her head, denying his claim.
"No. You were happy without me Jungkook. You were happy with the girls you dated after me. All those girls who are beautiful and a somebody," Y/N blinked back her tears. No, she promised herself that she wont cry for Jeon Jungkook ever again.
"Thats what I thought I wanted Y/N. But I was wrong. I was so wrong," he gripped both of her hands, making her gasps. "I'm so sorry for what I did Y/N. I tried to look for you after you left, but I couldnt find you... and now you are here..." he cupped her chin to tilt her head to look at him. "Y/N, looking at you now, I regret everything I ever did and say to you. Please forgive me Y/N. Please... can we... can we try again?"
Y/N was shocked. She didnt think Jungkook would ever ask her to be together again. She is afterall, still just an ordinary girl... and him. Look at him, he is as perfect as he could ever be.. Then his words appeared back in her mind.
Looking at you now.
"Is this what this is? You want me back because I'm no longer the ordinary little town girl I was five years back? Because I'm successful now?!" Y/N was furious. How dare he. Jungkook was startled by her assumption. How did she even come to think of that? That is absolutely not what it is at all!
"What?! No! Y/N no! That is absolutely not what this is about. Y/N... you are everything that I want. I just realized it too late. Please Y/N. Lets try again. I'll treat you right this time,"
"No!" She shakes her hand loose from his grip. "You cant do this to me Jungkook. It took me five years to even be able to hear your name again. You broke me beyond repair. You make me judged myself to the point where I hated myself Jungkook. You dont know how broken you make me when you left. I loved you. I really really loved you... but you..."
"Y/N, please just give me another chance. Lets try this again," he begged.
"No!" Y/N start to walk out as fast as she could but what Jungkook said next stopped her in her tracks.
"I love you Y/N. I have never stop loving you," Y/N's whole body shakes as tears starts to stream down her face. She ia grateful for the fact that she is not facing him. Jeon Jungkook shouldnt see her cry. Not now. Not ever. But hearing those three words comes our from her one true love, her first love, Y/N felt her heart bursting in both pain and happiness again.
"I love you... please believe me Y/N..." he repeated softly. His voice shocked Y/N out from her tranced and she quickly continue her exit, never once looking back.
Y/N managed to bring herself to an empty park, well, of course its empty, its past midnight, after sending a quick text to Meen A to tell her to cancel the rest of her schedule and postponed it to tommorow. There is no way she is able to face Jungkook again. She close her eyes and leaned her head back, enjoying the cool breeze.
"Do you think the stars are watching we live our life like we watch a reality drama series?" Y/N was startled by the deep voice that suddenly appeared in the dark. She looks up and saw Taehyung walking towards her, smiling and sitting down besides her.
"What are you doing here Tae?"
"The question is, what are you doing here? I have always come here after schedule. This park is very near to my dorm," he pointed somewhere behind him.
"Ahh. Okay. But...what do you do here all alone? You are not a mass murderer or a rapist right?" She jokes and he laughs.
"Nothing. Just sitting in the dark and asks random questions like the one I asked you just now," he grinned.
"Really? You have to do it here? Alone? In the dark?" Y/N questioned, eyebrows arched. "Why cant you discuss it with your group mates? Isnt it better to talk to someone who could actually respond?"
Taehyung hung his head at her statement, feeling sad. "Not really. Sometimes I just want the peace and quiet to think and play with my own thoughts. Sometimes I even wonder if I made the right decision to live this kind of life," he chuckles.
"This kind of life? What do you mean?"
"This life we are living Y/N. People expect so much from us. To be flawless, remarkable in everything," he sighed. "Sometimes I wonder what its like to live an ordinary life,"
Y/N laughs. There's that word again. It seems no matter where she goes, that words haunts her like a nightmare.
"I wouldnt know what you are feeling Tae, because I have been ordinary all my life,"
Taehyung looks at her as if she doesnt make sense at all. Well, to be fair to him,she really doesnt make sense. How can a mega superstar like her, living life that people only dream of could possibly say shes been ordinary all her life? But Taehyung figured she has a reason for saying that and just lets it go.
"You are lucky then," he stood up, both hands in pockets and smile down at her. "Because Y/N, in a world full of people trying to be special, what is so wrong to be ordinary?"
Y/N's mouth drop open. Those words... they are like her secret mantra to survive the broken heart Jungkook left her with. She blinked and look at Taehyung. Those eyes staring back at her. She remembers now. The deep voice, the piercing gaze.
That stranger is Taehyung.
The man she has been searching for all these while is Kim Taehyung.
But before she could say anyhing, he is already gone.
Y/N tossed and turn the whole night. The whole conversation with Taehyung, the recent one and way back five years ago when he was just a stranger, played continuosly in her head. Its Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
Everything fits now. For the past month she has been getting to know him, she fell for his dorky ways and the unique things he did. She see the sadness in his face when his fans criticized his fashion choices or hairstyles, how sometimes he rather stay home and not come with them because he is tired to conceal his real self in public. She understand now why the stranger wants to be ordinary. Why Kim Taehyung wants to be ordinary.
Taehyung is beautiful, inside out. And its a shame people are more focus on the facade he puts out rather than his true self. Y/N thinks back about all the time they spend together. Taehyung will mostly ask about her life way back before she was a celebrity, asking her stories about her classes, courses, her part time job and he enjoys her stories. Every bit of it. Sometimes it seems as if he loves it more than listening to her experience touring around the world, working with all these influential people. Its... different. Most people she met in the industry are only trying to be close to her for her name, for her connections, but Taehyung felt sincere.
Taehyung loves how she is when she's just an ordinary girl.
And Y/N finally admits it now. She's in love with that extraordinary boy.
Unfortunately for her, no matter how much she wanted to she Taehyung again and proclaim her love for him the next day, they are having a one day break. So instead, she peeled her sleepless body for a morning walk towards the rows of restaurant. She needed something to clear her head.
Just her luck, she saw Taehyung sitting alone on one of the sidewalk cafe, his breakfast still full on his table, playing with his phone.
"Tae!" A wide grin stretch across her face as she walks over. How can someone look this beautiful?
"Oh, Y/N. Nice to see you here," he smile, and Y/N felt her heart beats faster.
"Are you alone?"
"I'm actually with-"
"Y/N?" Shit. The voice that calls out her name makes her heart rscing and palm swearing in fear, and she wanted nothing more than just to get out from there.
"I..I'll be going first Taehyung," she bowed quickly and make her exit, confusing Taehyung who didnt understand the situation.
"Y//N, please wait," Jungkook grab her arms and turn her around. "Please... dont run away from me,"
"Let go Jungkook,"
"Not until you give me a chance," he gritted his teeth in determination. "Y/N... I love you. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I was a fool, an idiot. I care about my status, my job more than I ever did about your feelings before. But all that will change now. I have changed now. I will love you right this time. Baby... please," his soft doe eyes pierced through hers, begging her for another chance. The way he looks at her, the feeling of his touch on her arms, his familiar scent that filled his nostrils the way he calls her baby... her heart is aching. She misses him so much.
She raised her eyes to look at him. His handsome face and the way the mask hang around his mouth and nose.
The mask. The mask that he needs to conceal his identity. His identity that makes him too good to be with her in the first place.
Jungkook will always be a somebody. He has to hide his identity even he is having his breakfast. And although she is a part of that life now, deep inside she is still just an ordinary girl who unfortunately falls in love with someone extraordinary like Jeon Jungkook.
And what happened five years back proves that Jungkook would never accept that ordinary part of her. And if he cant accept that, then he cant have all of her.
"I'm sorry. I cant Jungkook," she trembled. "I have only known and love you all my life. I love every part of you... but you dont love me for who I really am. I am just still me Jungkook. Underneath all this, I'm still just that girl you broke for being ordinary. You wont and cant ever love me fully... and I wont force you too,"
"Y/N. No. I love you. I love all of you. Everything about you. Please. Give me this chance and I will prove it to you," Jungkook is panicking. He cant loose her like this. She didnt even give her a chance to get close, to show her how he has change. He has been looking for her for five years, how can he just let her slip away?
"You think you do. But I know you better than that. You are just in love with the idea of me," she smile sadly. Oh, how she wished they were still young lovers. Happy and in love. "I thought no one could ever like me for who I really am Jungkook. I loathe myself. For years I loathe myself. But I know now, not everybody hates ordinary. We ordinary girls have to right to be love too,"
"I didnt me-"
"I cant be with you Jungkook. I thought I wont ever get over you, but I was wrong. I fell in love. I found someone worthy to love me now. And I would do anything to make him love me..." she finally quietly admits, leaving Jungkook speechless.
"Wh..what?" Jungkook shakes his head in disbelief. This cant happen. His baby is in love with someone else? Who? Who is the man who stole her heart away? "Who is it? Tell me Y/N! Who is it! I will show you I can love you better than him," his face is etched in anger as he shakes her shoulders.
"You dont need to know..."
"I do. I do need to know Y/N. I need to know so I can show you how much more I will love you than he ever will!" He insisted, crazy with anger. Y/N looks around and see they are starting to catch attention and people are starting to recognized them. She cant let them happen.
"Stop it Jungkook..."
"No! I love you Y/N. Why wont you believe me?" He cried. "Tell me who is he?"
"Its Taehyung!" She screamed, tired of Jungkook's tireless persuassion. "Its Kim Taehyung! Are you happy now? I love Kim Taehyung and he didnt even know! So you dont have to do anything Jungkook!" His grasp on her shoulder soften.
"You are in love with Tae - hyung? My hyung?" His eyes roamed all over her face, looking for any sign that shes lying. But theres none. His heart starts to ache, a feeling so foreign to him. "Since when?"
"Since... sinc..," her eyes flickered behind Jungkook and her mouth dropped in horror. "Taehyung!" Jungkook whipped his head to see what Y/N is looking at, and true enough, his hyung stood there behind him and with the look on his face, its clear he heard everything. His eyes looks straight at her, dark and blank, she couldnt understand what emotions are playing within him right then and it scared her.
"Tae, wait! I can ex-" Y/N started to run after him when he abruptly turned around and walked away towards the other direction.
"Y/N, please. Choose me. Please. I love you. I cant live without you. Choose me Y/N. Dont leave me for Tae," Jungkook held on to her jacket's sleeves, begging her with his brown eyes. Y/N felt her tears finally fell at the sight of Jungkook, the mighty Jungkook begging for her, an ordinary girl.
"Then you have to learn how to Jungkook. Just like how I did before," she shakes her sleeve loose and run after Taehyung. Jungkook was left alone, stunned, and after years of being strong and believing he can do anything, he fell to his knees for he knows this time he wont be able to do it.
Losing Y/N all over again.
/////
"Tae! Tae. Stop. Just stop," Y/N was breathless as she managed to grab Taehyung by the arm. The said man turned and emotionlessly turned to face her. She felt her heart break. Does Taehyung really doesnt have any feelings for her at all?
"You shouldnt say things that you dont even understand Y/N," he suddenly broke the silenced.
"What are you talking about Tae? What you heard-"
"How can you say you love me? How is that even possible?"
"Why isnt it possible? I'm in love with you Kim Taehyung! Why is that not possible?" She huffed. Did Taehyung really thinj no one would ever love him? "I'm in love with every part of you. The real you! Not the facade you put out for everyone around you. But the you that you showed me during the talks we had. I'm in love with that Kim Taehyung!"
"I cant be with you," his words came out so smoothly out from his mouth, it hurts her to think how he doesnt even have to think about it at all.
"Why?" She cried. Y/N can feel her heart broke for the second time after a long time. "Why cant you give me a chance? I know you felt it too. I can see it when you talk to me. When you look at me. Please Tae, why cant you let me?"
"Tae... is there really no chance for us?" Y/N asks again when he kept quiet, eyes fixed on the ground. "You... really cant love me?" Y/N lets out a deep breath and weakly lets go of his hand when he still didnt answer. "Okay... I'm sorry. I just thought..." she didnt finished her words before she turned around, wanting to just walk away from the situation and just buried herself in her blanket back at the hotel. She was always a fool in love. Ordinary or not, no one will ever love her for her. She just need to braced another month of schedule with Bangtan and she can forget all this ever happen.
"Do you want to know why we could never happen?" Taehyung's voice reached her ears, sounding so soft and sad, making her turn around even though she dont think she can ever face him again. Y/N stopped in her tracks for a moment and decide to just walk away. There is no need for her to listen to the list of reasons as to why Taehyung would never ever love her.
"Y/N, listen to me," Taehyung grabbed her hand. Why is he doing this? Why is he forcing her to listen to things that she doesnt want to? Is he intentionally wanting to hurt her?
"I...I dont want to Tae," she sobbed. "I dont need to know why you wont ever love me,"
Taehyung immediately cupped both of her cheeks and make her look at him the moment she said that. "Y/N... I'm sorry for what I said. And I never said I didnt love you back..." he said so softly Y/N almost missed it, but she didnt and her eyes widen. Did... did Taehyung just confess?
"Please dont cry..." his thumbs wipe the tears that slowly rolled down her cheeks. "Look around you Y/N... this is the reason why we cant be together,"
For the first time since they talk, Y/N raised her head and look around her. Fans are gathered all around, cellphones out and snapping photos. She looks up and billboards with her face on it filling the view. Even if the passerby didnt know who they were before, they sure do now. "You are too special to be with me Y/N. I am not the one for you. I'm too strange and weird to be with you. You deserves the world. You are remarkable, and you deserves the best. Me? I'm just an ordinary small town boy who accidentally passes an audition Y/N. I'm not for you. So dont cry for me. These people doesnt like to see you cry," he smile at her. She feels her heart beats faster. She wants that smile. She wants to wake up to that smile everyday and she wont let who she became now stops her from the happiness that is right in front of her.
"Taehyung... I'm still that same ordinary girl you met in the park five years back. The girl who cried because the person she loves broke her. Dont you remember her?"
"What? What are you saying?"
"You are really funny," Y/N repeated what he said to her way back then. "In this world where everybody tried to be special, why do you want to be ordinary?" Taehyung's eyes widen at that. Little did she know, just like her, their encounter that day changed his life forever too. He accepted his life more after their little talk and since then he starts not to think about what his fans would want from him. He is just an ordinary man and if they dont love him for that, then they didnt love him to start with.
"That... that was you?" Y/N nodded with a smile and tears in her eyes.
"Tae... what you said to me that day changed me. Because of you I start to believe that ordinary girls like me deserves to be loved too. I came back to the park everyday in hope to see you again but I never did. You have been a part of my life for a long time Tae, whether you like it or not," she laughs. "And if you think I am too special to be with you, then you are dead wrong. You are everything I could ever want. You are the only person in my life who loves me for that dorky college girl that I am and I'm in love with you for that," she rajsed her hands and carressed his cheeks. Taehyung slowly leaned in into her touched. "You love every lsrt of me and you deserve to have all of me Tae,"
"Dont see me like what the other see me Tae. See me for who I really am. I am just an ordinary girl who falls in love with an amazing man, and she hopes that amazing man would someday fall in love with her too,"
"I am already in love with you Y/N. From the moment you stutter my name the first time we officially met," he laughs out loud at the memory as Y/N blushed. "Why were you so nervous anyway? You are already in love with me back then arent you? My good looks got nothing on you,"
"Yah!" She hit his chest and Taehyung pulled her close in his embraced. "Dont tease me,"
"You are adorable," he kissed her head and they can hear the camera shutter clicking from all around them. They have a lot to answer to their own management tomorrow, but for now that didnt matter. "My beautiful ordinary girl, you make me realized that nothing else matters that just to be and love yourself. You are the best thing that could have ever happen to me, eventhough I dont even know who you were back then. I love you Y/N," he whispered.
"And I love you Kim Taehyung. Just my weird fascinating Kim Taehyung," Taehyung smile and leaned his head closer to her as his lips tremble when he touched the lips of the girl he has dreamt about for years.
As the couple shared their first kiss, and the people around them starts to busily clicking their cameras and cooing at the adorable couple, a pair of teary doe eyes looks from afar...
And for the first time in his life, he admits that his heart is broken to pieces.
By an ordinary girl.
A/N: Ordinary Girl that Y/N played on the music room is actually a real song by Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus, with the same title. All credits goes to the original artists and everyone involved in it.

A recap of a D&D One-shot: The B-Team
This is a little bit late, frankly, since the one-shot in question took place quite some time ago. But itâs pseudo-sequel is upcoming, and Iâve been building a character for that, so.
The B-Team was a very cool and good one-shot that turned into a two-shot because things kinda just kept going on for a bit, and thatâs okay because we were having fun. It was the first D&D (or tabletop in general, excluding TCGs) Iâd played in quite a while, since nobodyâs campaigns had spare space and itâs not like I feel experienced enough to DM my own one.
It was also heavily inspired (I believe) by a movie I havenât seen, so until it was literally spelled out for me I had no idea about that. Oops. Anyway.
Iâm not sure this is going to be the most interesting content, but this is also going to nudge my memory about the setting and such, which is relevant for one shot two, so. At the very least, my mates who read this and werenât there can get a rundown, even if itâs a little late.
We did so much crime.
The B-Team opens with our titular party returning to Huckston (a city I had assumed was spelled differently) from a job for local mob boss Seamus Greenleaf, a halfling sorcerer whose accent was as silly as his name implied. Dude was basically an extremely dangerous leprechaun. Said job involved the retrieval of a ring whose name I forgot but basically just gives regenerative immortality.
Our party was comprised of 4 members, each with a very particular set of skills that probably would have worked a little better if weâd communicated better beforehand. We had Prissy, a Half-Elf Courtesan and Wizard who was theoretically the party face but more importantly a nigh-untouchable Bladesinger, Vael, a Human Circle of the Shepherd druid who is likely single-handedly responsible for getting that subclass softbanned from our tables for just spamming rats and bears everywhere and making keeping track of things a pain, and Stitches, a Half-Orc Rogue who had to take up the tank/melee role even though their class was not suited to it, because the rest of the party was casters.
And then there was my character, Parri. A Kobold Artificer/Alchemist, who Iâd essentially flavoured as someone who digs through dumpsters to find usable components to do the grossest possible magi/science possible. Iâd deliberately taken spells that were less useful than they were flavourful- this snappy mans is very likely to have Grease handy since heâs probably rooted around in a nasty restaurant bin, heâll have Heat Metal (a spell I didnât realise was as good as it is) since that would be a useful tool for making things to hold dangerous ingredients, and yâall know heâs taking Acid Arrow. Actually, you get that one for free as an Alchemist anyway, so.
Parri wasâŚinteresting to play, to say the least. Iâm sure people complain a lot about this sort of thing, but his accuracy with spells was frustrating at best. Alchemical Savant, on the other hand, was an excellent little boon that made sure said spells were dealing some sexy damage. I probably goofed up when I took Cantrips- Poison Spray was solid enough, but Mending was something Iâm pretty sure I never used- while it makes sense for someone going through garbage to want to fix up the things they find, we did a lot more breaking than we did fixing. Parri was also a major Critical magnet, including on the opening turn of the final battle, so he spent a lot of time healing himself with various abilities.
Artificer is also a class I will probably wait a while before going back to, because it has a lot of little tinkering going on, appropriately enough. By level 9, where we ended the campaign, he had a sizable pile of spells with 3 levels, the Magical Tinkering ability to basically have a bunch of little things that do semi-useful stuff, 6 infusions- basically self-made magic items, with a huge list to pick from and 3 active at a time, the ability to make tools at will, two randomised Experimental Elixirs every long rest, that also give temporary HP, the ability to cure statuses and diseases pretty much at will, and the extremely useful Flash of Genius feature for yourself and allies. Added onto the Kobold stuff of Grovel, Cower and Beg (an ability that, despite being nutso bonkers, I literally Never Used), there was a lot to keep track of, and Iâm much more keen to go back to something a little simpler.
These 4âŚadventurers? Would show up to Greenleaf and hand over the ring, only to discover that it was not the ring they had assumed it was, or at least, it didnât seem to work. Assuming we, his loyal hench-group, were trying to screw him, he sicced his boys on us, forcing us to flee to safe haven, and attempt to make a next move.
Each of our characters had a person or group we knew in the city who could help (I deadass donât remember Vaelâs one, though), and as a team now being hunted by the largest gang around, we were hunting for options. Stitches had family working in the docks, who fortunately knew a guy who could promise us safe passage the hell out of dodge- and considering the circumstances, that seemed like the best idea if we wanted to keep our lives. His fee, however, was well beyond our price point, so our goal was, in fact, to get rich quick. For our lives.
And thatâs just what we did, using the only thing we knew best: Crimes. Using Prissyâs contact- a hole-in-the-wall bar she used to work at (or at least, she knows the owner), we had ourselves a relatively safe base to work from for a few days, from which we could sneak off to the cityâs underbelly- literal in this case, since it was in the sewerage- and find jobs of Questionable Repute to do. Lucrative, but dangerous. We took a couple contracts, bought some shit from Parriâs contact (Black Market Magic Items!), and got to work.
It is worth noting that, of course, our travel was not particularly free, as the price Greenleaf put on our heads was astronomical. So just about everywhere we went, we were met with someone or another trying to kill us for a reward. This was a great excuse to have Lots of Fights, but it meant that our resources were somewhat limited. Everything from goblins to fully trained Dragonborn warriors and tamed Drakes was on our ass, and fortunately, we survived each encounter.
The first job we took was pretty much the reason the game was extended to a second session- the assassination of a major noble pretty much turned into a murderous heist movie scene. With the noble in question being a sleazeball, itâs not like we really minded (Parri was evil-aligned anyway). It ended up a surprisingly involved plan, with Vael shapeshifting into a rat and Stitches doing Rogue Shit in the background to keep things moving, Prissy doing what courtesans do best and stab people to death in bed, and Parri disguising as a waiter, doing not a great job of it, but eventually enabling the escape by causing a distraction in the form of setting loose the nobleâs pet Lion (via melting the chains, because subtlety is dead) and fleeing in the ensuing chaos. It was kind of a blast to put together, though particularly nerve-wracking- especially because if anything went wrong, or the set-lion-loose plan failed, Parri was in the middle of a room with many, many guards.
But it did go right, and the Lion even got to survive, after shrugging off a spell or two from the wizards guarding the place, so we got paid, called it a night, and called it a day in game because it was like 6 or something at this point I think.
After a week (or two?), we reconvened for the second part of what was now the B-Team two-shot. Our objective of Get Gold was not fully completed, but weâd gotten the majority of our funding sorted, so our next job would be something a bit easier and safer. As it turns out, that job would be Bullying Shopkeepers for Protection Money, something that made me vaguely uncomfortable IRL but hey, itâs only game.
Over the course of this job, we threatened a local blacksmith, a potion-seller (Parri made off with a brew or two), and a small local Goblin gang named the Green Mongrels. While this particular altercation turned violent, Prissy had just picked up Fireball, so you can guess how that one went. Two of the gangâs three leaders ended up so much dust on the ground, let alone the grunts, and the final one surrendered, which was appreciated. Especially since it meant we had a couple extra spell slots for the fight on the way back, being the one with the aforementioned tamed drakes.
Cash in hand, it was now time to get ourselves smuggled out of dodge, levelling up in the process. We actually levelled a few times over the course of the campaign, an accelerated pace mostly because itâs a short thing so it doesnât really matter, and because levelling is both fun and lets the GM throw harder things at us.
Our attempt at escape was somewhat thwarted, as upon reaching the shore and farewelling our now quite rich trafficker, we were ambushed by our final foes. Because of course, if there was a B-Team, there would of course be an A-Team. This was a pretty interesting idea for a fight, a squad of four deliberately mirroring our own- A Goblin Artificer on the Artillerist stream, a Rogue preferring bows to swords and spending most of their time peppering us with arrows while stuck to the side of a cliff, a Druid that turned themselves into a monster rather than summoning like ours did, and a Wizard whoâs class I donât really know but boy did he like Counterspells.
This was a long, and protracted, and kind of brutal fight that took a lot out of the group, and Iâm pretty sure more than one person (and by that I mean more than Parri, because he got shot right in the face for a crit immediately) was downed over the course of it. But eventually, the Rogue was knocked off the cliff enough times, the Wizard was downed and drowned, the Druid ran out of things to transform into, and the Artificer got taken apart with extreme prejudice.
But it didnât seem to be over. As we were scrounging the bodies, someone attacked Stitches, and it was unclear whom or from where. We assumed it was the Wizard having somehow survived, as heâd been walking on water and thus his body ended up in the depths- couldnât find it. Parri casts detect magic, and one very dead Wizard was found.
And a very suspicious Necromantic signature coming from Vael.
Turns out heâd had the reviving ring the whole time, and it was driving him completely mad. A final fight ensued, arguably our biggest damage dealer, currently unable to die, against the remainder of the party. And it was similarly brutal.
The tech ended up being for our not particularly strong characters to have to get close enough to pry the ring off his fingers so that they could actually become cold and dead. This was somewhat complicated by Parri getting very quickly downed by bats and bears, and Stitches being actually killed by such. After some healing and teleportation thanks to Prissy, however, we were just able to not only get the ring and finally put Vael down, but Parri, having recently learned Revifify and acquiring a jewel to burn on it, managed to un-kill Stitches.
Betrayal is a great way to make the closing moments of an adventure particularly memorable, I think.
Put mostly together, the ring and bodies disposed of (no-one holding on to this fucker anymore, ideally), 3/4ths of the B-Team wandered off into the sunrise, to restart their lives anew somewhere else. I like to imagine Parri opened a potion shop somewhere, but who knows if any town would actually suffer a Kobold long enough for him to do so.
And that was the campaign. It was a lot of fun, though it had been so long since a previous tabletop adventure that I donât really have a lot to compare it to. The table seemed to get along well enough (I mean we were all friends beforehand, so der), aside from some somewhat awkward pauses.
And considering the sequel to this campaign is coming, with different characters and the same people (now significantly less stressed out since the Uni break is here), Iâm extremely excited to get back into it. I have a new extremely small man to play as, and I couldnât be happier to bring him to the table. JustâŚnot as many nonsense abilities this time.

A sampling of some of the many, many universes in which Viktor Nikiforov and Yuuri Katsuki didnât somehow manage to avoid each other for TEN+ YEARS and are already happily married (Inspired in part by the musings of @kiaronna and @pearlo on this topic from this post):
In 2010, Viktor is leaving an Olympic after party because it has just more or less dissolved into an orgy and thatâs not Really his scene. In this universe, he decides not to go back to his room and instead finds his way to an outdoor seating area, which is not very heavily utilized given the fact that itâs February. There is only one other person out thereâan athlete with his back turned, curled up onto a bench. The lettering on his jacket says Japan. âMind if I join?â he asks, and the other man turns to reveal dark hair and the deepest eyes Viktor has ever seen. âOh,â he squeaks. âNo. Go ahead.â They sit, and talk, and three hours later exchange phone numbers. Instead of going to America to train, Yuuri Katsuki goes to Russia to train under Yakov Feltsman. He takes National gold in 2011 and marries Viktor in 2012.
Phichit accidentally posts a video of Yuuri doing a bit of Viktorâs 2013 free skate to Instagram, instead of the hamster video he meant to post. The video makes its way through the figure skating grapevine until, obviously, reaching Viktor. Viktor immediately DMâs Phichit, begging to know who the man in the video is. Yuuri wakes up to six missed calls, 609 Instagram notifications, 49 texts and a DM from Viktor Nikiforov. âI WAS ASLEEP FOR AN HOUR,â he shrieks. Phichit takes complete credit for their marriage in his speech at their wedding less than a year later.
Through the careful and judicious saving of money for several years, and because in at least one timeline the main waterline in the onsen and the transmission on the family car donât go kaput in the same year, Yuuriâs family is able to send him to one of Yakov Feltsmanâs ice skating boot camps when he is fourteen years old. Viktor is there, all shining hair and huge smile and new celebrity. He has just placed at the Turin Olympics and is on his way to becoming a Russian household name, and Yuuri has been in love with him for two years already. âYuuri!â Viktor coos across the ice, over the heads of the fifteen other skaters in the bootcamp. âKeep your hips even! It wonât make it so hard to turn into your Axel!â âYuuri! Donât hunch your shoulders on the spread eagle!â âYuuri! Your thigh should be parallel to the ice on that sitspin!â âHeâs incredibly skilled for his age,â Lilia tells Yakov in the back of the rink one day. âAnd Vitya has been behaving remarkably well, since he came here.â She fixes her eyes on Yakov, deep and determined. âHeâll be old enough to make his senior debut next year. If we groom him through his last year of juniors, he could bronze in his first GPF, or better. I want him, Yasha.â Yakov Feltsman is not in the habit of denying his wife those few things she asks of him. Yuuri Katsuki returns home after that bootcamp to pack his things and collect his dog and hug his parents goodbye. âIâll take good care of him, Mr. and Mrs. Katsuki,â Viktor assures from a Skype call. âHeâll be getting the best training in the world. I even have a poodle, so Vicchan wonât be lonely during the day!â Hiroko and Toshiya just smile knowingly. Yuuri Katsuki is newly fifteen when he moves to Russia and begins sharing a condo with Viktor Nikiforov. He is sixteen when he wins his first GPF silver, and eighteen when the Vancouver Olympics roll around and he stands below his best friend on the podium and accepts silver for Japan as Viktor accepts gold. He is nineteen when, after five years of glances and touches and shared secrets and tears and laughter, Viktor pulls him into bed. âAbout time,â is the general consensus to that. They have only been dating, dating-dating, for five months when Viktor asks him to marry him. âI know itâs quick,â Viktor says, âbut I feel likeâI feel like weâve known each other all our lives, anywa, so whatâs the point in waiting?â Yuuri, of course, feels the same way.
Viktor makes a split-second decision to touch up his make-up before a press conference at the Trophee de France 2011, and as heâs patting the sweat marks off his temples hears the definite sound of someone crying. âUm,â he announces to the otherwise silence bathroom. âAre you okay?â âYeah!â comes the answer, shrill. âIâm totally fine!â âYou donât sound fine,â Viktor says, and ducks his head to see which stall has feet under it. In the last stall, he sees a pair of badly-abused sneakers. He straightens up and knocks on the door. âIâll leave you alone if you want me to, but I canâif you want, I can show you a better place to cry. Than here.â It takes a moment, but the door opens. The man in front of him has watery eyes and puffy red cheeks and Viktor isnât sure he has ever found someone so beautiful. âOkay,â he whispers, and Viktor leads him onto the roof where instead of crying, he stares out over the skyline and tells Viktor about his home town. Viktor never does discover why Yuuri was crying, but he does get his phone numberâand he does visit his hometown with him, a year later, to tell Yuuriâs family that theyâve decided to get married.
Yuuri is somehow convinced by Phichit to go out with a group after Skate America in 2013âPhichit is in his element, leading people around the city with expansive gestures and the effortless social confidence Yuuri has come to know of his best friend. âYouâre from this city too, arenât you?â asks someone at Yuuriâs shoulder, and Yuuri turns from Phichitâs monologue to see Viktor Nikiforov of all people. Yuuri, distantly in the back of his mind, realizes that he didnât see Viktor before because he is wearing a hat, scarf, and enormous sunglasses. âUm, not from here,â Yuuri says, trying not to squeak, âbut Iâwe both live here, Phichit and I.â âBut you know the city,â Viktor says, âso that means you would know a place where I can get the most disgustingly greasy food imaginable and you and I can go there and my coach never needs to know?â âYes,â Yuuri says immediately, because he may be timid around most people, and especially around his idol, but he has more than enough sense to realize that His Time Has Come. âI can absolutely do that.â Yuuri takes Viktor to American Coney Island, where they eat loose burgers and chili fries and drink diet coke, which is the only cession to their diets. âOh Yuuri,â Viktor laughs at the end of the night, a speck of chili cheese still at the corner of his mouth, âI could fall in love with a man like you.â And he does.
Celestino wins a radio lottery and receives tickets to Champions on Ice in Las Vegasâhe decides to take Yuuri and a rinkmate. Yuuriâs rinkmate is nice, but he doesnât know her very well, and heâs several years younger. She also has friends in Nevada who she wants to meet up with, and Yuuri doesnât know anybody in the state for obvious reasons. On the first day they are there, Yuuriâs rinkmate disappears with her friends and Celestino takes his wife and goes exploring on the strip. Yuuri stays in his room and plays Pokemon and Skypes his mother. On the second day, Yuuri goes shopping for souvenirs for Yuuko and his family, and stares far too long at the billboard of Viktor Nikiforovâs face that is advertising the ice show. That night, he debates which of the three posters he brought with him he should bring to have Viktor sign, before deciding on noneâthe odds that he will meet Viktor Nikiforov tonight are practically not any higher than they were when the were on opposite sides of the world, and Celestino wonât want to wait in the long autograph lines. âDonât you want an autograph, Yuuri?â Celestino asks after the show, and Yuuri thinks itâs nice of him even though they both know that the polite thing to do is say no. âNo,â Yuuri says, staring at the long line, and continues out of the building. They branch off thenâCelestino has dinner plans with his wife, and Yuuriâs rinkmate is meeting back up with her friends for some clubbing. Yuuri is walking back to the hotel when he bumps headlong into somebodyâs solid chest. âOh, sorry,â they say, and steady him with hands on his shoulders. Yuuri looks up and finds the same icey blue eyes frm that billboard yesterday staring back at him. âOh,â Yuuri whispers, wide-eyed. âYouâreââ âShhh,â whispers Viktor Nikiforov, pressing a finger to his own lips. âDonât give it away, Iâm hiding. âVITYA,â someone from the alley leading back towards the ice center screams. âCome on,â Viktor laughs, and tugs Yuuri away by the hand. Itâs the spring before Viktor will cut his hair, and it flies out behind him in a magnificent cascade as they run. They find their way into a club, where Viktor buys them drinks and laughs and laughs no matter what Yuuri is saying, and then drags him out onto the dance floor. Yuuri has not yet met Phichit Chulanont, who will drag him to pole dancing classes and teach him how to move his hips like a weapon, but he and Viktor get by in the crush of bodies, pushing against each other. âI think I love you,â Viktor breaths against his neck, and theyâre both three sheets to the wind, but Viktor is Russian and Yuuri is a college student and their tolerance is astronomical. They arenât even stumbling. âI know we only just met, but I think I love you.â âThen letâs get married,â Yuuri blurts before he can help it, and Viktor beams. âYes!â he cries. âYes, letâs do that!â It isnât hard to find a place that will marry themâeven though Viktorâs signature on the certificate looks more like a drawing of a tree, and even though Yuuriâs tie ends up around his forehead halfway through the ceremony. In the morning, Yuuri wakes up with the worst hangover of his life, fully-clothed next to Viktor Nikiforov, and says, âWe canâthis happens all the time, we can have it annulled.â Viktor stares down at the ring on his finger, tangled hair all over one shoulder. Yuuri realizes that he doesnât even rememer where the rings came from. How much did they cost? âI would rather not, if thatâs okay,â Viktor murmurs, and so they donât. Yuuri carries out the rest of the year in Detroit, wearing the ring around his neck on a chain and thinking about his husband, half a world away, waiting for him.

Gather 'round y'all. I've quite a tale to tell.
It all started when our DM introduced a group of Card-Master type NPCs. They would throw cards at us which would have random magical effects. He decided beforehand that the leader had 2% chance of dropping a Deck of Many Things. Guess what? He rolled it. At the time, I was playing a Halfling Master Thrower by the name of Katarin, a character who will always have a special place in my heart. Katarin was a no-nonsense Lawful Neutral military officer from Yllarum, a desert city with a booming economy (this was a homebrew setting, by the way). Also in the party was Gully Teach, a vagabond deadpan snarking Human Swashbuckler/Dread Pirate whose biggest goal in life (as far as I could tell) was to finally obtain his own ship and crew and be a famous scourge of the seas. Gully and Katarin are the two most important characters in this story, and in general they were the two highest respected in the group. There was also Throng, The Half-Orc Barbarian, Lloyd, The Human Duskblade, and Marris, The Human Ranger. There was an Assassin too, but I don't remember his name and he didn't have too much of an influence on the story. My tale begins when party was roughly level 6 or 7. We had just successfully managed to stop a war from starting between humans and dwarves, and we were on our way to explain the situation to the Dwarven king in the city of Gundermount. Gully had attempted to buy a ship at a human port town along the way, but he got himself gypped out of his money buy a couple of less-than-savory types. In our effort to recover the stolen gold, we ran into the aforementioned card-throwing gnomes with Brooklyn accents. It ended up being an easy fight. After mopping them up, I looted one of the bodies and found a deck of cards in a box, upon which was written something to the effect of "The Fate of Us All" in Gnomish. I didn't think that much of it because I had never encountered or read about a Deck of Many Things, neither in nor out of character, so I simply put it in my bag to inspect later. Once we'd all settled down for the night however, Gully Teach saw Katarin handling the deck and flips his stack. Apparently he knows what it is. After choking out a quick explanation of how major the find was, he begs to be the first one to draw from it. We concede. Gully draws three cards. I don't recall what the later two were (they were something minor like getting a few thousand gp in gems), but the first card Gully drew was the Moon. He got four wishes. He wished for one million gold, to be famous, to be more dextrous, and for "a ship that cannot be pierced by any means". He ended rolling a reflex save to avoid getting crushed by the gold, but he got it. He got a +4 racial bonus to dex, but he also grew a monkey tail. He also got an adamantine Ironclad ship, and everyone knew his name. Then Katarin (me) draws. Not really liking to take chances, he goes for only one card. He draws the Star, and gets himself a +2 to dex. Throng and Lloyd weren't there at that point and time (their players were gone and their characters were doing something else), leaving only Marris. She drew the card that summoned a CR 17-something dread wraith. It looked as though our luck had run out at this point, but Marris had been holding on to a modified version of an Arrow of Slaying for the past three levels. It just so happened that Marris had a deep running hatred for the undead, so naturally her arrow was attuned to destroy them. It also just so happened that the wraith had an abysmal fort save, so she killed it in one shot. The DM rewarded her with enough experience to boost her (and even Gully and I for some reason) up a level. So far everything about this situation had been one-in-a-million, but it gets even worse. The DM had ruled that instead of only being allowed to draw once from the Deck, he would allow us to draw once per week. This eventually proved to be more of a curse than a boon. Our DM's policy when it comes to wishes was that he'll let you get away with a lot, but he'll also screw with the wish if you ask for too much. It was dangerous business. But Gully hadn't had enough. We ended up having to find someone to teleport us the rest of the way to Gundermount, because we didn't have the crew or knowledge to actually pilot the ironclad. Upon reaching the Dwarven city, our party went on a MASSIVE shopping spree. The power-scale of the game had skyrocketed ridiculously. Throng rejoined us and drew from the Deck. I had been joking for the past week that when Throng drew, he would die, due to the fact that he was at times ridiculously unlucky and it often put him in ridiculous situations (in and out of character). Sure enough, he drew the Void. Throng was gone, just like that. A week went by as we took a rest, and as the dwarves celebrated the news that there would be no war. Gully eagerly drew from the deck again as soon as possible. The rest of the party abstained for the time being. I had all but made up my mind to never draw again after what happened to Throng. Luck smiled on Gully Teach, however, because right then and there he drew another Moon, this time with two wishes. Gully wishes for his ship to be capable of flight and underwater submersion (a suggestion I had made earlier in the week), and also wishes for "the ability to regenerate from any wound" (by which he meant Fast Healing). This is when the DM struck first. Gully was transformed into some sort of small-sized sea nymph in a glass bowl, who had Fast Healing 40, but he also couldn't survive outside of the water in the bowl. Gully was nonplussed. So it got even messier. Gully sought out the most powerful wizard in the Dwarven city, and paid a ridiculous sum of gold for a casting of Wish. He wished to go back in time to the point right before he'd made the wish that had turned him into what was effectively a goldfish. He then changed his previous wish to a wish for a powerful and loyal crew that was capable of expertly piloting his ship. Thus, he was no longer a sea creature, and he now had a crew. We hadn't actually gone back to the ship since Gully had made those wishes, but when we did, we found a group of 20 blue large size lizard-like creatures bustling about the ship, performing maintenance and other such tasks. Upon seeing our swashbuckling party member, they all abruptly came to attention. They all shouted simultaneously, "HAIL GULLY TEACH! THE BATTLE-TITAN BRIGADE IS AT YOUR SERVICE." It was at about this time that the game could truly be said to have become ridiculous. It was also about the time where Katarin lost his place as highest authority in the party and the campaign became more about pursuing the wild whims of Gully Teach, the eccentric millionaire pirate in his flying submarine of a ship. I don't know why or how they called themselves the Battle-Titan Brigade, why they were lizards, or why they could speak. I figured it was a reference that I still have yet to discover the source of. But nevertheless, these lizards were impeccably loyal to Gully, and the manned the ship expertly, not to mention they were handy in a fight. They also appeared to share some sort of hivemind. Suffice to say, they were odd. Upon starting up the engines, we found that the ship had a pathetic speed of 20 ft. Irritated, Gully went back into town, purchased another wish, went back in time again, and modified his wish such that it would allow for his ship to be faster. When Gully returned to his ship this time, the Battle-Titan Brigade was still there, but the ironclad had become an animatronic Gargantuan Blue Wyrm, another one of the DM's twists, perhaps based off something in the way he had worded the wish. It could fly and swim at 120 ft. speed however, so Gully didn't seem to mind. Also at about this time, Lloyd the Duskblade rejoined us and we offered him a shot at the Deck. He cautiously accepted, and recieved a Sunblade and his own private castle appeared on a deserted island (which he inherently knew the location of). The party decided to check it out. So finally, with at least half of the million gold spent, we set a course for that island. That's when are troubles began in earnest. We were flying over the ocean, when an Old (28 HD) Red Dragon came soaring in from out of nowhere, roaring with rage. Keep in mind, we were level 7. We pretty much panicked as Gully ordered to submerge the ship, and we dove a hundred or so feet underwater (it's maximum depth wasn't very impressive). This waylaid the red dragon for a moment, though it was obviously after the ship for some reason. "GULLY TEACH!" The dragon roared loud enough to make us roll fort saves vs deafness. "YOU STEAL FROM MY HOARD AND NOW YOU'VE USED MY GOLD TO CONSTRUCT THAT?" He was referring to the Blue Wyrm Ship. Red dragons don't like blue dragons. Unforunately it didn't have the stats of an actual Blue Wyrm, and it indignantly told us so when we asked if it could fight the dragon. The realization hit us like a ton of bricks. That million gold had come from this dragon's hoard. Gully's famousness wish had made it so that everyone knew his name and what he was doing. Putting 2 and 2 together, it meant that we were completely trapped. To make matters even worse, the fact that the ship was now a construct that looked like a blue dragon made it look as though Gully was mocking the red dragon. It followed us from above the surface of the water wherever we went, demanding that we resurface and face its wrath. Desperately, we all looked to the Deck. Gully had already drawn this week, but three of the party members had not. Maybe, just maybe one of us could draw the Moon or some other card that would help us escape this situation. This was when the deck really started to screw with us. Marris drew and had her alignment changed to Lawful Neutral. The assassin (whose name I don't recall) drew and received a level 4 fighter cohort, who he then instructed to keep drawing from the deck until he got the moon. He only got three cards in before drawing the Void and dying. He did, however, get a Luckblade, which just so happened to have zero wishes still in it. Lloyd drew and also got a cohort, to which he gave the same command. He drew some sort of magical item, followed by the Queen of Pentacles (destroy all magic items), followed then by yet another Void. Katarin had to make a choice at this point. He felt no real responsibility for this situation, despite the fact that he had used some of Gully's gold. Katarin had barely agreed to draw one card at the beginning, and after seeing Throng die, he had all but sworn off it. He knew that repeated drawing could bring great benefit, but he also saw that the law of averages said that one day it would kill him. Katarin also had a Cloak of the Manta Ray on hand, so while none of the other characters could escape underwater, he could easily just step outside, become a manta ray, and get away from whole situation, and he was dangerously close to doing so. But here was the whole party begging him to draw at least one more card. The dragon above had started to bombard the ship with spells. Cursing his luck, he drew a card. Queen of Pentacles. Lose all magical items. I was so mad I got up out of my seat and start yelling at this point. This was the one other card besides the Void that I knew of that could completely screw me over. Katarin had lost his escape route, and since a Master Thrower is somewhat dependent on returning daggers, he had lost a lot of his combat effectiveness too. While this had been going on, we'd been continuing our flight to the island stronghold that Lloyd had received from the deck. We had arrived near the shore, but we were unable to surface because it would mean exposing ourselves to the dragon. There was only one thing to do: Offer the Deck of the Many things to the dragon in return for a truce. The dragon hastily accepted. He probably could have simply taken the deck and then killed us, but he must have been too enthralled by the deck or too prideful to go back on his word. When we emerged onto the shore and got out to give him the deck, he simply took it and drew 5 cards immediately. He drew a joker and some other cards, but only two were important: The Moon and the Queen of Pentacles. The dragon made three wishes on the Moon, but we didn't know what they were. We were hastily trying to leave at this point. An affect of one of the wishes he made, however, was to turn the blue wyrm ship back into it's adamantine ironclad form. It could reach 85 ft. speed, however it took 4 or 5 rounds to get there from 20. As we had all retreated back onto the ship and begun to sail away, we heard a roar of complete and utter outrage, bemoaning the loss of his hoard. He must of been disoriented by his despair, because he didn't think to chase after us once we were out of sight. We made our way to Yllarum, Katarin's home city. After that the campaign seemed to regain a smidgen of normalcy. Gully bought one more wish in order to reverse the effect the Queen of Pentacles had had on me. Gully christens his ship "The Monkey's Paw", now that it was a proper ship again. We felt pretty good. We'd managed to escape the dragon, keep the gold, and live to campaign another day. Some time later, after taking care of our business in Yllarum, we decide to make for the southern continent. Lloyd, the owner of the castle on the island, asks if we can make a slight detour to fully inspect it, seeing as how we never got the chance during the dragon mess. It was only a little out of the way, so we agree. Flying overhead upon our arrival however, we see that same bloody red dragon resting in the courtyard of the castle. He had chosen quite the vengeful spot on which to start building his new horde. Now this is where it becomes crucially important that the ship had been changed back to its old ironclad form by one of the dragon's wishes. Upon seeing our ship, the dragon roars angrily and gets up to attack. Seeing as how the ship didn't have the speed to outrun a dragon, the only option was to stand and fight. Gully's player had been looking into Stomwrack's sections on naval combat, and therefore knew that the ship could ram for 11d6 damage. So, without any ado, that's exactly what Gully begins to do. Whilst commanding the Battle-Titan Brigade to man and fire-at-will with what ballistae the ship had (two), he repeatedly attempts to ram the dragon. Sometimes, he lacked the maneuverability to do so, and the ship needed to build full speed to do it's full damage (which would be X8 at max speed). Building up speed required he only turn by one diagonal square per round, and this fight just wouldn't allow him to do that as he had to keep swerving in order to hit the dragon. While it seemed to be working fairly well, the dragon was also dealing major damage to the ship, and even if we did gain the advantage, he could always retreat and be back to harry us again some day (probably soon). Thankfully, the ship's adamantine composition prevented us from going down like yesterday's leftover barbecue. It could even bypass the dragon's DR, seeing as how the ship was considered magical, but it still wasn't an easy fight. Gully, Katarin, and Lloyd happened to be the only ones in the ship at this point in time. This errand in the southern continent wasn't supposed to take long. So there we were, 3 level 8 characters and a bunch of cohorts taking on a CR 20 encounter. Our most potent spellcaster had three levels in Duskblade, so you can be damn sure we didn't have access to Shivering Touch. Lloyd is struggling to find a way to be useful. He manages to nick the dragon with a Shocking Grasp through one of the portholes once, but he promptly got caught in the dragon's breath attack (which the DM ruled only would hit each 5-foot square adjacent to the portholes if the breath attack came parallel to them), taking 128 and dying instantly. Katarin happened to have a Revivify scroll on him and a handy high roll on his UMD check, which brought him back, but he was out for the fight for sure. Meanwhile, Katarin was built to excel at ranged combat. The dragon's AC was too high for me to hit on anything but a very favorable roll, but my DM said he would allow me to shoot for his eyes, which had a much lower AC despite being smaller. At first, he attempted to time his attacks with the cooldown of the breath weapon, having to dodge in and out and waste several turns making sure not to get hit (and also to save Lloyd), but then he had the idea to mount one of the Battle-Titan Brigade members, with Gully's permission, and instructed it to take cover from the window if he should see an incoming breath attack. The dragon then feels the sting of Katarin's full attack: Six thrown daggers per round, each dealing 14-16 damage for about 90 damage if all of them hit their mark (which, with the range increment penalties, didn't always happen). Over the course of several rounds, I manage to fully blind one of his eyes, and deal significant damage to the other. The dragon doesn't like this at all, so he changes his tactics, attempted to kite us with spells and breath weapons. Unfortunately for him, this gave Gully the opportunity to do just what he had wanted with his ram attacks. Shuddering with anticipation, he calls for a full steam ahead. The range increments were getting even tougher, but Katarin finally managed to blind the other eye just before Gully hit maximum speed. The dragon, who had managed to get about 1-2 hundred feet away from us, conjures up a Wall of Fire, and begins channeling a Pyro Burst (the DM has a soft-spot for that spell), which I only know because I took a cross-class rank in Spellcraft, had a high int, and rolled high enough. Gully commands for the ship to dive as quickly as possible while still remaining full speed. We managed to get underwater just before the dragon laughs and says "You fell into my trap!" and releases the Channeled Pyroburst, which completely misses, seeing as how he is now blind and we are also beyond the range of his blindsense. The round after, we came careening back out of the water at full speed, flying directly at him. I start playing "Libera Me from Hell" from my laptop because it seemed appropriate. The ram connects, dealing a full its 88d6 damage. The DM informs us that we ram into the dragon, spinning like a drill, we pierce it's chest and come out the other side, having impaled its heart, taking it to -200 hp. "WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK WE ARE?" In the aftermath, we dragged the dragon's lifeless body back to the beach, where we later sold it's body to a specialist who worked with dragon parts. The ship had taken 85,000 gold worth of damages, which Gully paid in full to repair. I'm fairly certain we also leveled up again. Lloyd and I later encountered the Deck of Many Things sitting innocently on the sandy beach, presumably where the dragon had dropped it in his delirious rage. We simply passed by it without saying anything. We'd been damn lucky. It'd happened before in this campaign, and it would happen again, but the important thing was to acknowledge the fact that it was, in fact, luck. I don't believe Gully Teach saw the Deck lying there, because if he had, he might very well have kept drawing until the Deck really did manage to kill him. I might have buried it, though I honestly don't remember. What I do know is that after all we'd been through, Lloyd and I had decided the Deck was certainly not worth the risk. The real kicker is that some months later, we begin adventure to stop a bunch of time-traveling black dragons from destroying the earth. They claimed that an ancestor of Gully Teach would eventually unravel time, and that the only way to stop it was to tear out our world's magical lay-lines (thus destroying it). Of course, Gully Teach had since died in a particularly nasty encounter with Rakshasa and denied resurrection, leaving poor ol' Katarin and Co. to deal with it. Apparently something about Gully wishing to go back in time over and over again had sparked the DM's imagination in a pretty horrible way. So that's what happened. Because of a Deck of Many Things, we broke the power-scaling of our game, accidentally pissed off a dragon, fought and killed said dragon in a flying adamantine submarine, and then created a tear in the space-time continuum, all without meaning to and at level 6-8.
Not written by myself. In this story I was playing Gully Teach. My buddy Paul wrote this who was playing Katarin. I love sharing this because the way he wrote this captures the game perfectly.

Note: Set in a world created by our wonderful DM (@iodine-kisses).
His ears were ringing. Valas turned on Dominic, annoyed by the young manâs proud grin. His friendâs wavy dark hair had been put up in a bun â the fact that the bard had taken the time to tie his hair up during a fight was irritating in itself. Meiros was already at Valasâ side, searching the drow for injuries to heal.
âNext time you blast a dragon off of me, how about you warn me to cover my ears?!â from the way that Dominic laughed and Meiros winced, Valas guessed he was yelling. It took Meiros a few minutes to get his ears to stop ringing.
In the meantime, Dominic was looking down at the carcass of a dragon and still grinning widely. âI killed that.â
His twin sister, Eve, rolled her eyes. âWe helped.â
âBut I landed the killing blow!â he countered, causing his sister to roll her eyes again. âI canât wait to go home and tell my daughter her daddyâs a dragon slayer!â
âBaby dragon.â
All party members looked to Hai, who was the next to get Meirosâ attention, though he often fought from a distance and thus avoided most harm. The sorcererâs familiar, a raven named Obsidian, sat for once quietly on his shoulder.
Dominicâs grin was starting to fade. âWhat?â
âYou killed a baby dragon,â Hai stated matter-of-factly, nodding toward the carcass.
Dominic didnât look all that proud anymore. âWell â well you guys helped kill it!â
Eve put on her best sympathetic sister act and clapped Dominic on the shoulder. âBut brother, you landed the killing blow.â
âYouâre the great dragon slayer!â Elizira chimed in, exchanging a grin with Zintra, who shook her head.
Valas thought Dominic looked like he would cry.
âI didnât want to kill a baby!â
âIt did attack me,â Valas pointed out. He felt Hai sling an arm around his shoulders â the sorcererâs other arm rested across Meirosâ shoulders. It was an affectionate attempt to keep both men near him, though it also prevented Meiros from walking over and healing the other members of their party.
âWell we couldnât have that,â Elizira teased and chuckled at the unimpressed look Valas shot her.
Zintra picked up her shield, slinging it onto her back, signaling that it was time for their group to continue farther into the cave. After all, they had a serial murderer to hunt. As she passed Dominic, she patted him on his arm, âDonât worry. Weâll tell your daughter you slayed an evil adult dragon.â
No, no, no. This couldnât have been happening. Not again. Not again.
Valasâ hands shook, covered in blood â in her blood, in his blood.
Just a few feet away, her body lay lifeless. She was looking in his direction, arm outstretched as if to beg him to stop, lips parted in a silent plead to spare her brother. Her eyes were wide with shock and tears stained her cheeks, marking her with the heartache, the pain of betrayal. But her eyes were also dim, lifeless. The midsection of the dress the alchemist wore, once a beautiful shade of green, was darkened and soaked with crimson. He could see where the blade had pierced her from behind all the way through to stick out the other end. Perhaps if the blade had been left in, she would have had more time. More time to struggle to live. More time to helplessly watch her brother die.
Just a few feet away, Eve stared lifelessly at him, lips parted as if to ask why he knelt over her brotherâs dying body.
Underneath him, Dominic was dying. He was dying fast, the blade having pierced his heart from the front. The blade was still in him. That blade â Valasâ blade.
Valasâ hands shook as he removed the blade. Leaving it in wouldnât have made a difference. The others were too far away. Meiros was too far away. He wouldnât get there in time to heal Dominic. None of the others even knew what was happening. None of them knew of the danger. None of them knew about the death and the dying.
He frantically took his cloak off and bunched it together, pressing it against the wound. Dominic whimpered against the pain. Valas felt his heart tear. Tears were in the corners of Dominicâs eyes â some escaped. Valas didnât even register that he, himself, was crying too. He didnât register that he was practically sobbing.
Not again.
For a split second, he didnât see Dominic underneath him. He saw an older man â a drow with short silver hair, not quite white. He saw his hands around the hilt of a dagger. The drow reached up, touching his cheek with bloody fingers. He felt his motherâs presence behind him, looming over him. He saw the disgust on his fatherâs face beneath him.
âI should have killed you. You should be dead.â
And suddenly it wasnât his father but Dominic underneath him. Dominic, staring up at him with sad eyes, but still with that caring look of a young father, of a friend, watching someone break. Dominic reached up, his arm shaking with the effort, his fingers and hand bloody from trying to hold his own wound and stop the bleeding he knew in his heart wouldnât stop.
He weakly cupped his hand against Valasâ tearstained cheek. Valasâ eyes snapped from the wound to him.
âItâs going to be okay,â Dominic managed to get out, his voice quiet, weak. Each word was a struggle, but he looked determined not to die and leave them unsaid. âItâs not⌠your fault.â
Valas became aware of his own sobbing. âIâm so sorry.â
Dominic tried to shake his head but didnât have the strength to. âNow youâre fond of me.â He put on his best smile but it wavered. He looked afraid of dying. He looked like a man desperate to live but with no cards left in the deck, no more moves to make.
Valas wanted to tell him he thought of the bard as one of his best friends but the words caught in his throat. He choked out a sob, gently grabbing Dominicâs hand and holding it against his cheek.
âValas,â Dominic stressed, âPromise me⌠Promise me youâll see my daughter.â
Valas started to shake his head.
âSee my little Evanora,â he insisted, âSheâll need her â sheâll need her Uncle Val to show herâŚâ He coughed up blood but refused to stop talking. âShow her how to survive⌠How to survive this cruel world. Tell her â tell her about her Auntie Eve. Tell her about the hero she was, smart and braveâŚâ His words became slower, his eyes dimmer. âTell her⌠Tell her that her daddy was a dragon slayerâŚâ
Though he wanted to refuse, Valas slowly nodded. âIâll tell her about the hero he was too.â
That made Dominic smile. âI always wanted to be a heroâŚâ
With that, Dominic took his last breath.
It had been roughly one year. For roughly a year, he had tried not to think about Dominic or Eve, about any of the others heâd left behind. Heâd chosen to run and had never stopped. He had sometimes taken odd jobs â assassinations usually â to earn money so he could feed himself and Spite â the spoiled spider had quite the appetite. But he was used to those jobs requiring only himself. It had been roughly one year since heâd worked in a party.
Now he found himself surrounded by strangers â Rihiri, a tiefling druid; Zaegar, a half-orc monk; Bilbo, a halfling rogue; and Sefhana, a half-elf ranger who he was fairly certain was the most annoying half-elf heâd ever met. Of course he pretended not to remember their names â he didnât plan on sticking with them for long. They just needed to slay this beast, this⌠Well he remembered their names, not the beastâs. It was progress.
Still, those memories lingered in his mind. When battle began, his first instinct was to turn to Elizira and give her the mischievous grin that she knew was him asking her to lay down cover fire so he could get close to the enemy as safely as possible.
But Elizira wasnât there. Instead when he turned he met Sefhanaâs gaze. Heâd just met her not too long ago, but he assumed it was safe to say they werenât going to get along.
Where he expected to see Zintra charging into battle, sword drawn, he saw Zaegar, reigning his fists down rather than a blade. Where he expected to see Dominic and Eve concocting some crazy plan that might get everyone killed but hey, at least theyâd look good doing it, he saw Rihiri throw Bilbo and the halfling land ungracefully with his face against the ground. Where he expected to see Obsidian swooping down and pecking at enemies, he saw a large bear that had accompanied Rihiri.
And where he expected to see his lovers taking up the rear â Meiros with his crossbow, Hai with his staff and magic â he saw nothing but an empty space. Trees stood where he thought his lovers should have been.
He decided he didnât like it here with these people early on. It was too familiar yet foreign, working with a group yet a group he had never known before. Heâd learned to work in sync with his previous party, with his⌠friends.
He thought back to that party, to those faces heâd learned to affectionately call his friends â a couple of them more than friends. He thought back to first meeting Zintra, to hunting down that monster. He thought back to being by Zintraâs side as she recruited each of the others. He thought back to the nights theyâd spent around a campfire, Dominic creating lyrics to songs on the spot that made no sense but made everyone laugh.
He thought back to Eve, staring lifelessly, silently pleading at him to spare her brother. He thought back to Dominic, to making a promise he couldnât keep.
He decided that he wouldnât allow himself to enjoy it here with these people. He wouldnât allow himself to get close, to stay. He would leave them behind as soon as he collected his money. He didnât need any more friends. He didnât need anyone caring about him. He didnât need the blood of those he cared about on his hands anymore.
He looked around at the group of strangers he didnât want to get to know. He thought that if he wasnât in their lives, then certainly their lives would be longer.
Valas stared down at the toy in his hand â a small, wooden dragon. It was clearly a childâs toy, and he had no clue why it was on a corpse unless⌠He stood up and turned from the corpse, not wanting to find out if it was of a child or an adult. He stared at the little dragon, stirring a memory heâd tried hard to push down.
He saw Dominic using one of his daggers to carve a twig into a crude tiny little spear. He carved it too thin, of course, and it just fell apart the moment he tried to stab a piece of meat with it. Eve playfully rolled her eyes.
âYou should leave the woodcarving to the, well, the woodcarvers,â she teased.
He saw himself snatch the dagger back and investigate the blade. âKeep taking my daggers and youâre going to dull the blades.â
Dominic shrugged. âIf I want to be a woodcarver, I need to practice.â
Zintra looked up from her meal and cocked an eyebrow. âYou want to be a woodcarver?â
Dominic grinned cheekily. âMaybe, maybe not.â
Eve playfully shoved him. âIf you were a woodcarver, Evanora would have more toys than she does.â
âShe has plenty of toys!â Dominic protested, âHer Auntie Eve spoils her.â
This time it was Eveâs turn to grin. âWell I have to be her favorite relative.â
Dominic barked out laughter at that.
âYou should make her a toy dragon,â Elizira chimed in, âAfter all her daddyâs a dragon slayer.â
Dominic opened his mouth to agree when Eve added, âAnd itâd be small enough to be a baby dragon.â Dominic shot her a sour look and the party erupted in laughter around the small campfire they had built.
And suddenly Valas was staring at a small, wooden toy. A little dragon in his hands. And he was back in the cave with a different party, a different set of faces. The only familiar thing was Spite, perched on his shoulder, staring at him with her multitude of eyes. For the first time in roughly a year, he slipped the toy into his bag with one thought on his mind.
Evanora would like this.
Youâve got to be kidding me, Valas wanted to say, staring defiantly at the half-orc in front of him. Was it truly the only way to get what they needed? Couldnât they just kill them all and go about their lives? Did he really need to give this up?
Of course he did. He mentally reminded himself that this was life and life was never kind, at least not for long. Anything kind would surely be taken away from him â kind gestures, kind moments, kind people. It would all become memories soaked in blood. It always had.
He thought he saw Sefhana look like she was going to try to swipe it from him. Which would have been ridiculous in his opinion, trying sleight of hand out on a rogue. But then Zaegar had his attention again â he told himself the monk could easily get his attention just because he was shirtless. He refused to think any farther into that.
The next words out of the drowâs mouth was a price. It was a ridiculous price that anyone in their right mind wouldnât pay. It was a silly item that wasnât even worth half that amount. At first he didnât think heâd heard correctly when Zaegar agreed. But as he saw the coin, he realized heâd somehow walked right into a deal that should have greatly pleased him. Heâd never reluctantly taken money before. But as he put on his best cocky grin and traded the small item for the gold, he felt just that â reluctance.
He watched as the wooden toy, the little dragon was given away so they could continue on and finish their quest. He told himself it was for the best. He didnât ever plan on seeing the Crawfords again. He hadnât even been there for Dominic and Eveâs funerals, having ran away as they had been traveling to take the bodies home.
He told himself he didnât deserve to take such a gift to little Evanora, who would be eleven by now. He didnât deserve to hand her a toy with the same hands that had been soaked in her father and auntâs blood. He didnât deserve to see her smiling face again, to be graced with her presence again. He didnât deserve to have such innocence in his life.
He told himself it was for the best.
He pretended that celebrations bored him, but rather they made him uncomfortable. He didnât think he deserved to be celebrated, and he guessed the townsfolk might have felt odd, having a drow in the party they were cheering on. Or perhaps it was such a small town that they didnât care. He found it hard to keep track of every place that despised his race.
He watched the others have fun, mostly sticking to the shadows or eating when he felt hungry. Receiving gifts from the townsfolk wasnât something he was used to or expected. All heâd wanted was to get paid so he could leave, but free food was free food.
He rummaged through the gifts, not quite caring about them and halfheartedly putting them away in his bag. He froze, though, when he noticed a small, wooden toy. It lifted the little dragon up and inspected it. He wasnât sure if it was new or the same one. But either way, somehow he now held a toy dragon in his hands. He glanced around, trying to figure out who was responsible for it â it couldnât have been a coincidence. But to his knowledge, no one was giddily watching him, waiting for him to see the toy. To his knowledge, no one cared.
He glanced to Spite â he guessed that if spiders could shrug, she would have â before carefully placing the toy in his bag.
He wondered who he would owe for this. It wasnât a coincidence, he was sure of it. And nothing in life came free. Someone knew about the toy, knew what it had meant to him though he hadnât spoken it. Someone had gone out of their way to get either the same one or a new one and give it to him. He thought someone clearly wanted something from him, but what? He didnât know, and he wasnât looking forward to finding out.
He knew this city. He realized that the instant his stomach dropped and he felt sick. Heâd been traveling around with Rihiri, Zaegar, Sefhana, and Bilbo for a little over a year now, and heâd been praying to the goddess that they wouldnât journey to this city. Perhaps this was Lolthâs way of punishing him for not being devout.
It was a big city, but he doubted luck was on his side. He pretended not to know where shops or inns were. He pretended not to know the city, but he was quieter than usual. This city brought back memories that should have put a smile on his face but instead tore at his heart. This city made him look at his hands and see red.
He stood outside a vendor, one he recognized and resisted the urge to groan. He remembered almost punching this vendor for trying to swindle him out of his money while stating not so kind words about drow. The only thing that had kept him from decking the man had been Hai, gently but firmly grasping his arm and pulling him away. He remembered also hearing the man scream something about his hair being on fire.
His hair had clearly grown back â he looked as irritating as ever. He eyed Valas, but kept most of his attention on Rihiri and Zaegar, though technically Bilbo was the one talking to him. The manâs eyes were nervous glued to the tiefling and half-orc, who looked intimidating from his angle. It probably didnât make the man feel comforted to see the party was trailed by a bear and a wolf.
Valas, however, hadnât realized heâd neglected to put his hood up. Every now and then the man glanced at him as if he thought he might have recognized him before his attention snapped back to the druid and monk. Valas was tempted to tell Bilbo to steal whatever he needed while the merchant was preoccupied.
âUncle Val!â he heard a familiar shriek and felt something â or rather someone â collide with him and refuse to let go. He looked down to find a twelve year old girl with wavy red hair tied up in pigtails. Though he hadnât seen her in a few years and hadnât expected her to recognize him, he knew instantly who she was.
Evanora.
She released him from her hug and his eyes darted around, searching the crowd for the face of her mother, Amelia. He didnât see her which both relieved and concerned him. He didnât think he could face her â the last time heâd seen her, sheâd told him and Zintra to bring her husband back safely. However he also didnât think Evanora should be out without her mother.
He knelt down in front of the little girl, not quite sure what to say. She looked up at his companions and gave a small wave with a big grin before her attention was back on him. Her grin wavered.
âDo you remember me?â her voice cracked, setting off alarms in his head. She was pure, innocent, a child. She didnât deserve to be sad.
âYes â Yes, of course I do!â he said quickly, watching with relief as a smile returned to her face. He swallowed down his emotions and tried to put on a smile of his own, cupping her face in his hands. âLook at how big youâve grown! Why youâre practically an adult!â
She giggled at that. âMommy lets me go grocery shopping by myself!â
He doubted that was true. Amelia was a protective mother, even though the city was fairly safe and most in it knew and were fond of the Crawford family. âDoes she now? You must be so brave to walk these streets alone!â
She grinned and bounced up and down, her pigtails bouncing with her. âI am! I am!â It was clear she had her fatherâs energy. When she stopped bouncing, she looked at him as if searching for something. âWhere have you been?â
He felt like sheâd stabbed him with one of his own daggers. If only, he thought.
âI uhâŚâ he tried to think of something, âIâve um â Iâve been on a secret mission.â
She gasped. âA secret mission?!â
âShhh, Evanora,â he gently hushed her, âItâs a secret.â
She made a big O with her mouth and quickly nodded her head.
âIâm actually still on it,â he explained. He didnât like lying to her, but he thought lying was one of the things he did best.
âWhy are you here?â she asked curiously.
He thought of that small toy and swung his backpack off his shoulder. âIâve got a gift for you.â He reached in and gently took the dragon toy out, handing it to her.
She gasped and took it, grinning from ear to ear.
He smiled, genuinely and affectionately. âNow when you look at this,â he spoke up to get her attention again, âI want you to remember you daddy, okay?â
âMy daddy?â
He nodded. âYou see, your daddy and Auntie Eve, they were brave, brave heroes. The bravest this world will ever know! And your daddy â Why, he was a dragon slayer!â
Her eyes widened. âHe was?â
Valas found himself mirroring her grin. âHe was! I was attacked one time by this evil evil dragon, and your daddy saved my life!â
âCan I tell Mommy that story?â she asked eagerly.
He thought that it was only because she was young and distracted by her excitement that she didnât ask him to come with her. âOf course!â
She threw her arms around him, and he found himself hugging her back and not quite wanting to let go. He didnât want to leave her in the past again. But he had to let go. If he stayed, she would only get hurt. And she would hate him if she ever found out the truth. He stood up and watched her bounce off to find her mother.
He felt eyes on him and, unsurprisingly, found the others had been watching. He didnât blame them. In their shoes, he probably would have watched too.
âSheâs the daughter of someone I knew,â he explained without needing to be asked.
âA friend?â Rihiri asked. During their nights spent together, he had opened up to her a couple of times, though heâd kept majority of the details to himself.
âI donât have friends,â he stated firmly, though he was fairly certain the look Sefhana gave him translated to bullshit. âNot⌠anymore.â He didnât think heâd ever admitted that heâd once had friends before. At least not to anyone but Rihiri. He thought the silence that followed was awkward and uncomfortable. âYou can ask what happened.â His own voice sounded demanding even to him, as if he wanted them to accuse him of what they didnât know had happened.
Zaegar smiled softly at him â Valas thought he smiled too much, and on that note, flexed too much too, not that he would ever tell the monk to stop. He liked watching him smile and flex. âYouâll tell us when youâre ready.â
Valas pulled his gaze away. He wanted them to accuse him. Murderer. Monster. Traitor. He wanted those words screamed at him, spoken like the truth they were.
âHe died,â he stated it, his voice cold yet shaking, the sorrow heâd never allowed himself to grieve threatening to shatter the ice heâd put between himself and his heart. âHe died with his sister. They were murdered.â
âIâm sorry,â Bilbo spoke up before the others could, but it was clear that even Sefhana sympathized.
Valas found he couldnât stop talking, speaking words he didnât want to. âWhen we first met, I⌠I was on a quest to avenge them. Iâve sworn to kill the man who killed them.â Before any of them could offer to hunt someone down, he added, âItâs something that I must do. And eventually Iâll get the chance to. Until then, it doesnât matter.â
âIf we run into him, tell us and we can help,â Rihiri promised, and Valas looked away.
He didnât have the heart to tell them they had already met that man.
âThank you,â he said instead, âBut Iâll kill him⌠When Iâm strong enough, heâll die.â
He didnât have the heart to tell Rihiri that this was linked to the bandages sheâd seen around his arms and wrists. He didnât have the heart to tell her that this was linked to the scars and cuts sheâd seen on his arms, wrists, waist, and thighs. He didnât have the heart to tell any of them that he was talking about himself.

hi, this is @madscastillo here with my third(!!) attempt at a second character... how long was i scarlett before i wanted to switch to peyton? three days. thank you to everyone who bore with me even though iâm the most indecisive person alive, but iâve finally found a character that i feel really comfortable playing. meet kaia, sheâs a former actress turned trainwreck turned girl who really wants a second chance. she can be a real bitch && she also LOVES to make people feel bad with sob stories about how hard her life has been, sheâs practically begging for sympathy. iâll have more info about her down below as well as some wanted connections, but if youâre interested in plotting with her (pls give me all the plots and iâll cherish you forever) feel free to DM me, or like this post and iâll come to you! (i always feel really awkward sending out the first message but for kaia iâll make an exception)
my bb kaia is inspired by the actresses nicola peltz (whoâs basically known as the mean girl of hollywood, so iâve heard?) and lindsay lohan (the queen of trainwrecks who also turned her life around, good for her!). she is a former child star whose face was practically everywhere. you couldnât go supermarket shopping without seeing kaiaâs face gracing either a fashion magazine or a shitty tabloid cover. as she got older, she slipped into some bad habits, which is kind of a recurring theme for most child stars tbh? the money and the fame got to her, and she often spent her earnings on lavish parties, expensive drugs, and alcohol. as she became more dependent on these things, she developed a HUGE attitude problem, and her brattiness became really hard to deal with on set. soon enough, producers got fed up with her behavior, and she quickly started to lose movie roles --- they didnât want to waste their money on a handful like her. kaia didnât think it was that big of a deal; less movies meant more time to sleep around and party, which were her number one priorities at the time. she burned bridges with everyone, mainly with her parents, who managed her when she was still acting. during her fall from grace, she met a man who seemed to be her only constant, as she lost most of her friends and colleagues when she hit rock bottom. she thought they were something serious, while he thought she was his claim to fame. he stuck around for the parties and the sex, and he dipped as soon as she was no longer of use to him. he didnât get the fame he so desperately wanted, but he did manage to get a tape of her that was filmed without her consent, and he is currently threatening to leak it if she doesnât give in to his demands.
while she is really worried about the leak, sheâs focusing on more important things like rebuilding her career. sheâs been playing nice to producers and directors, in hopes that sheâll get a big role that will put her back in the spotlight. after the breakup, she went to rehab to get clean, and sheâs reaching a year of sobriety. she wants everyone to know that sheâs doing better, and sheâs determined to have a comeback as big as robert downey jrâs. thereâs only one thing, though --- she needs a serious attitude adjustment. sucking up to celebrities will get her nowhere if she isnât nice to her fans (honestly how is she still relevant), and sheâs been nothing but cruel to them. in her defense, a lot of them bring up her past, which she really doesnât want to hear or talk about. sheâs been so resentful about how things turned out, because she had a lot of potential that she wasted. not important but she really hates margot robbie (fellow aussie girl lmao) and she thinks sheâs a way better actress than her. mention margot robbie and i promise sheâll become the angriest girl ever in ten seconds flat.Â
SOME CONNECTIONS I NEED WANT!!:
best friend: tbh, kaia needs someone to come sort her out. thisâll be the person who has been with her through thick and (very) thin, and has also helped her become sober and turn her life around. she doesnât say it enough, but sheâs really grateful for their company and support. i need this because theyâll be the only person kaia is truly soft forÂ
rival: basically the selena to her demi, the hillary duff to her lindsay lohan, honestly just think of any iconic celebrity feud/rivalry. kaia doesnât hate this person, but sheâs just really jealous of them, and sheâll often throw cheap shots at their expense. itâd make a bit more sense if they were career rivals, but iâm open to general rivalries too!
enemy: THE PERSON WHO MAKES HER BLOOD BOIL. there are few people in this world that kaia despises more than this person, and sheâll go out of her way to treat this person like filth. she hates them, and she has no problem with admitting that. this is my personal favorite because this just brings out the cruel side in kaia and ugh, i love it.
someone whoâll help her career: this person is her saving grace, honestly. kaia has such a terrible reputation in hollywood, and she needs this personâs assistance to put her back on the radar. sheâll repay them with kindness, which is really rare for her.
people sheâs mean to: this is basically everyone. i donât know if sheâll ever be truly nice to people she doesnât know, so donât be surprised if she insults you right off the bat. but seriously, i really donât want to be mean to anyone here so iâm really sorry in advance for how much for a bitch she is!
as always, iâm open for more connections than just this! if you have anything in mind, let me know :))

Cole Sprouse gives insight into âRiverdaleâsâ newest couple, Jugheadâs daddy issues and the story behind the crown to Screener.
Well, things certainly have changed in "Riverdale." Though she spent the first few episodes of Season 1 coming to terms with her feelings for Archie (KJ Apa), Betty (Lili Reinhart) has seemingly moved on -- with none other than Jughead (Cole Sprouse). The relationship between Betty and Jughead is an interesting one -- and not just because what kickstarted it was the murder of Jason Blossom (Trevor Stines).
Jughead is a mystery of a character, and one fans of the "Archie" comics have been waiting to get some answers about. As this enigma is slowly unfolding, his connection to Betty almost seems like a natural progression. Still, there will be those who question if Jughead's heart is truly in it. After all, in the comics Jughead is asexual, and that's an aspect of the character Sprouse has voiced interest in exploring before.
The actor sat down with Screener to take a nosedive into the mind of Jughead, and exactly what this relationship means for him -- and Archie, for that matter. Sprouse also speaks to the developments in Jughead's family life, whether he'll share any screen time with Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) -- and where that crown he wears comes from...
You've been very open about your interest in pursuing Jughead as asexual -- which he is in the comics. Now with he and Betty becoming an item, is the door closed on that, or is it something you think the show could still tackle?
I don't know, you know? I'm the actor -- so when it comes to actual writing, and the narrative, and what will inevitably take place, I don't have too much to say. I've talked to Roberto [showrunner Aguirre-Sacasa] a little bit about it, and he and I have been interested in exploring the narrative for some time. But it's important to remember that there's a large group of people that want Jughead to be asexual. That was the same side I was on in the beginning, when I was fighting for it. Because that's [Chip] Zdarsky's new universe and all that. He's been aromatic for a long time in the comics -- but as I was doing my research, with Betty and Jughead, there was a ton of content -- and actually a large community that wanted Betty and Jughead together as well.
It's hard for me to say. I'm of a mind that I think a representation should exist, but it should feel organic and it should still feel genuine. I think the way that we're going right now -- that's Jughead and Betty [after this episode], people are going to clearly see that pursued more heavily -- it makes sense for this new narrative. We're in a new universe, there's still a large group of people that want Betty and Jughead together.
There is a real infatuation in the old digests between Betty and Jughead, it's just he has no room for it right now. I don't know if [asexuality will] end up being pursued. Like I said, I'm an actor not a writer. I don't know the sensitivities of the larger corporations at work. But I'm on the same side, I have been since the beginning. In the event that something does change, I'm right there on the front of it.
But I still want to make sure it's done right and it encompasses the entire argument, and doesn't mention it briefly or in passing or something that doesn't feel appropriate. I don't know how much of the asexuality thing will come into question -- but I certainly think that Jughead being a woman-hater will eventually come into question. That wouldn't surprise me in the slightest, and that's very much like his original digests.
I really couldn't tell you. As of now I don't know even what the idea of the second season is, so I don't really have too much money to put into the bag.
As this relationship goes on, what will we learn about Jughead? Because as you look at the show, these two come from very... let's say dramatic home lives, meanwhile everything seems to end up going Archie's way.
And that's important! Roberto wants that to be the case. Archie has always been a cipher and will always continue to be a cipher, but please continue!
That's what works about it so well -- but then you have Betty and Jughead, who don't necessary have the luck in life that Archie does. So given their connection, what will we learn about Jughead? Especially as the show starts delving more into his family?
Rather than thinking about Jughead as he has this huge comic lineage that we have to stay loyal to, let's think about Jughead as he's just a character in the town of Riverdale. He's a damaged kid, his father's not really in the picture, we don't know where his mother is, he's kind of searching for a connection with someone -- and he ends up teaming up with this hyper-nurturing, really emotionally sensitive, really caring individual who he finds some sort of mental connection with. And it works.
I feel like when I speak of Jughead, it's very hard to remove all of the meta-gaming I'm doing. It feels like I'm a Dungeon Master, and not like I'm an actual player in the world, and I don't think that's the right way to look at the relationship between Betty and Jughead. I think it's much more appropriate to look at them as real psychological entities within a town that's kind of going to sh*t, and who both have these dramatic lives. And Jughead is a character that's looking for some kind of real, emotional, mental, intellectual attachment to something -- and finds a person who's kind of yearning to do the same.
Betty's a character that just came off this infatuation with a childhood love that didn't work out. At the beginning of the season that's where we leave her, and she's still complicated with all of these ideas. She doesn't really know what to be a kind of lover means.
They end up meeting each other with similar passions and similar drive and it works. I think that's the way we should look at it as players in the world and not DMs.
First of all, where can we get an 'Archie Comics' or 'Riverdale' RPG game, where you can be the DM?
[There's this game] "Arkham Horror," it's a Lovecraftian boardgame -- but I would love to see that, kind of. All of the characters have to go through, and make mental will tests to make sure they don't go insane, and you get to pick between some of the Archie characters. That would be so much fun. I'm going to pitch that!
I would be very into playing a giant 'Riverdale' board game.
Like super gritty, old gods rising. All that stuff!
We know you won't be getting to the bottom of what went down with Archie and Jughead this season -- but what kind of impact will Jugs getting together with Betty have on their bond? It certainly can't help the situation.
It doesn't. We acknowledge that there's a tension that exists within the first season. Jughead, Betty and Archie were kind of like the Three Musketeers during their childhood, when Veronica (Camila Mendes) wasn't in the picture yet. So Jughead being with Betty is just as complicated as if Archie were with Betty. I think the rest of the season is us dealing with those narratives, and figuring out why that might be complicated, and that classic ooey-gooey romance.
The way that Roberto has spoken about this first season is that it's the origin season. The first season is essentially the origin story for the rest of the seasons: Why are these characters this way? What happens after their lives have gone through the entire arc, which was sort of ushered in by Jason Blossom's murder? I think that begs further questioning. In the event that we take off with a Season 2, how did the first story inform the origins of the rest of these characters?
Well, looking at that origin, we don't have Jughead's mom, or Jellybean, in the picture right now. But we are getting more FP Jones (Skeet Ulrich). How deep are you going to be delving into that relationship -- between father and son?
Huge! Massive. It becomes probably the single biggest storyline in the latter half of the season. Character-wise, Jughead narratively is like an old car that takes a while to start up. It just burns rubber but you don't stop. You can't stop the car, or it'll just shake to pieces. That's kind of how we treat him in Season 1.
You'll get to see a lot more of Skeet -- who's just the man -- and their relationship is one of the primary narratives in the latter half. It's great. It ends up becoming quite interesting. And Jughead has sort of this tortured youth, angsty side.
All he needs in life is his hat!
I found out recently from a man named Krishnan Menon -- he's like one of the biggest Archie collectors in the world -- I said a while ago that I always thought Jughead was sort of like an imaginary friend in the digest. He doesn't really have any real world connections. He's quite a strange character.
It turns out this guy's one of the foremost Archie collectors -- he has, like, "Pep" issue 21. Besides Roberto, he's probably one of the most well-read on the "Archie" comics. He was saying Jughead was originally supposed to be Archie's conscience. That's what he was as a character. So he wears this crown as a symbol of being in the head, or in the thoughts. He doesn't like women, which is the antithesis of Archie who's absolutely crazed about them. So he sits in opposition there. And he's obsessed with food, because I guess you're supposed to feed your thoughts and fuel your mind.
It was funny when he was explaining this to me, because I already had this idea of Jughead as an imaginary friend. As Jughead was developed as a character, he sort of became a real world physical character. It's very strange.
And that's kind of the origin of the crown too. It's the corona. It's the mind. Some sort of noble thing.
Lastly, we've seen Jug's interactions with a bunch of people but there's some he still hasn't really come into contact with yet.
Yeah, like Veronica?
Like Veronica! And there hasn't been much with Cheryl. I'm dying to see those two interact. Are we going to get these things?
Oh yeah -- Cheryl and Jughead, definitely. That's kind of inherently the way it's going to be. Jughead starts out as a character that's on the fringes and you don't see too much of him, and then slowly but surely he's reintegrated into the school society at large. I think someone you will never see Jughead interact with this season is Josie -- but you get snippets of Cheryl and Jughead, you get a tiny chunk of scenes between Veronica and Jughead in which Jughead acknowledges that "I never see this girl." A bit of Ethel and Jughead.
I'm excited for more Ethel.
Yeah, me too! I'd love to see that classic storyline take place where she's continuously trying to feed him food and he's just running away!
But yeah, he integrates himself into society a little more actively in the later half of the season, so you'll get to see more.
