"The middle class, in all their naiveté, often believe that they can solve the problems of the lower class with the same tools they use to maintain their own status. But they are worlds apart, and what they fail to realize is that poverty isn’t a problem to be solved, but a condition to be survived."

I just came across this interview Käärijä gave for an Estonian magazine before the Tallinn gig and thought I'd share it with y'all! He talks about saving money to buy a house, why he quit drinking etc. Also, there are some new interesting things he said about Tommy 👀
Since the article is behind a paywall (and in Estonian) I've put a rough, heavily Google-assisted translation under the cut 👇
There are a few minutes left until the concert. How do you feel?
I feel great, but I'm a little tired because I didn't sleep well.
Did you have a party yesterday?
No party, I'm focused on the European tour. Yesterday was a live in Sweden, from there I flew to Finland at five o'clock in the morning and from there to here. But I'm one hundred percent ready for a show. It doesn't matter how tired I am, I give my best on stage.
You recently released the single 'It's Crazy, It's Party' with Tommy Cash. When Tommy met the members of the band Little Big, they drank a lot of vodka. What did you and Tommy drink?
Haha, I haven't had a drink with Tommy yet.
Not even a Pina Colada?
No. Maybe someday Tommy and I will have a drink, although I don't think he drinks much. And you know, I don't drink anymore either. I stopped drinking a month ago. I need to keep my energy up. When you give as many concerts as I do now, you have to take care of yourself. Drinking and performing hand in hand is extremely difficult both physically and mentally, not to mention how bad it affects the vocal cords. I had the biggest hangover of my life this summer, which put the brakes on my drinking. I went to a music festival with a friend where we drank too much. The next day I had to perform at the same festival. The hangover was so bad that I really didn't know how to get myself on stage with the terrible feeling and the summer heat. But I pulled myself together and did the show. This experience is also one of the reasons why I don't drink anymore.
What kind of person is Tommy?
He is a visionary and very witty - a lot of fun with him. And of course he's cute. I think we have something in common, like we both have our own style. Tommy surprises with crazy outfits: extraordinary hairstyles, extravagant clothing, which are complemented by boleros. In short, insane costumes.
After Eurovision, you started a real concert rally - you gave 51 concerts in the summer alone. Do you want to become a millionaire?
Of course I do! One day I will definitely be a millionaire. I don't keep track of how much money I have in the bank and how much I'm short of six figures. But yes, I'm trying to collect a million euros.
Will the goal be met this year?
No, not yet. It will still take a few years. I've had an insane amount of performances after Eurovision, because I was like a kid in a candy store who wants everything at once, but by now I've drawn the line because I can't perform everywhere. I also set myself a price tag, below which I will not allow myself to go anywhere. If you do 300 shows a year, you're screwed.
What do you spend your money on?
I don't just spend it on pretty things. I have a definite goal in mind - I want to buy a house in Finland. Maybe in the future also real estate in Thailand, we'll see. I don't need a Rolex or any luxury, I don't care about that.
What has been the most difficult thing for you since Eurovision?
Everyone in Finland now knows who I am. It's hard and tiring because I no longer have my own private space at all. I can't just go to the store, to a concert, or to a hockey game, people will immediately come up to me and start taking pictures. I hate when they don't politely ask for permission to do this, but immediately start clicking.
What has been the best?
It's great to see people hear 'Cha Cha Cha' and be happy. Or when they hear the name Käärijä and their face breaks into laughter - it's a powerful feeling. And of course to see how happy my family is about this achievement. And me too!

EIGHT SHOWS TO GET TO KNOW ME
tagged by @littleragondin mwah🥰 these are not all my most fave but they all represent a bit of me so i find them suitable
W.I.T.C.H - now i'm not gonna pretend to be the biggest fan but this used to be THE show for me before WINX came along and i'll always pride myself on being a witch girlie first and winx girlie second (the "not like other girls" syndrome began very early on for me); their powers, the visuals, the adventures combined with the daily struggles of teen girls, the boyfriends, the intro song omg, there is sm about this show, the countless books, the og comic.. good stuff <3
Tumblr media
also those two >>>
Tumblr media
Lovely Complex - my first anime iirc, i wish people would pay attention to it (but also i'm the only one who's allowed to get it, y'know); only a young romantic towering over her classmates could have the chance of understanding my feelings for it
also read the manga <3 but uh you can skip the live action lol
Tumblr media
Hana Yori Dango - broooo- bro. this show was made for my basic romantic ass, it was my first asian drama (or one of the first), it introduced me to Matsumoto Jun, had me hooked for two seasons (though im pretty sure i binged the second season and movie in 24 hours, long after i had watched the first season..? idk what that was about)
i am of the opinion f4 thailand did best in many ways but this will forever be THE adaptation in my heart. the songs were unmatched, the drama breathtaking (there are so many cliches that i didn't know were cliches back then lol) and the experience surreal. i'll always treasure this questionable classic 💖
Tumblr media
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? - i enjoy this an unreasonable amount - my country's edition, that is; i just like having it in the bg and being a smartass, sometimes i run my mouth off so confidently and proceed to apologise to the tv when the contestant turns out to have been right lol
Tumblr media
Weekly Idol - hear me out on this - aside from all of its issues, the show has always been my way of finding more about groups. especially back in 2015, those low quality episodes on yt helped me so much with getting into kpop; it can be very hit-or-miss but i have so many faves; many artists have been on multiple episodes throughout the years and yet show something entertaining every time. you can find new groups to stan through the mixed episodes and learn more about the members of groups you're already interested in (though for that i also rec individual shows like gose, wanteez, monsta x-ray etc.). i'm especially excited for eunkwang and minjoo as the new hosts, they are so funny on their own and i want to see their dynamic so bad
Tumblr media
Pride & Prejudice - i've watched this just once but i can't not appreciate the accuracy to the book (except for the iconic lake scene lmao) and it covers british tv, 90s shows, austen books and period dramas all at once - all things i enjoy
Tumblr media
Bridgerton - i had a whole piece written bout this but simply put - season 2 and kathony were a Thing for me. got me researching and binging a bunch of jonathan shows, reading most of the book and a bunch of tumblr posts..even looking through gifs now im going feral, i love them
Tumblr media
New Girl - i usually play shows like this in the bg but i found myself paying a lot of attention and actually losing it laughing so many times, also nick and schmidt are the most precious intense bromance i've witnessed in fiction

did you hear the latest scoop ? we’ve got a new student joining us ! a little birdie told me that they’re called ARIYA SUWANNARAT, but they kinda remind me of NICHA YONTARARAK (MINNIE) — don’t ‘cha think ? you’re probably thinkin’ they’re just another 25 year old in their FIFTH year of some BACHELOR'S DOUBLE DEGREE IN PAINTING AND SCULPTURE, but wait ‘till you hear about their PSYCHIC ENERGY MANIPULATION ! nifty, huh ? probably good to know, especially ‘cause i heard they’re HOUSE HAETAE’s new VICE-CAPTAIN ! they’re pretty PERCEPTIVE on nullivi, but you should watch out for their HEDONISM just in case ! anyway — if you wanna check them out, i heard they’re staying at the RED HALL. oops ! you didn’t hear that one from me !  ༊*·˚
hey, this is autumn (she/her, 21+) again, aka the mun for @moonvitas as well! this time i bring you a revamped old muse that has decided bother me until i brought her in, sighs. this is ariya suwannarat, the princess daughter of a super rich couple. her dad is the ceo of one of the biggest conglomerates in thailand and her mom is a famous actress which means that considering how she was born an anomaly, she ended up sheltered a lot, lived off nullivi in public events until she learned how to control her powers properly after a lot of headaches and nosebleeds. then she's sent to sua esp because of her (one-sided) bad relationship with her brother but she isn't too mad about it and is just trying to enjoy that for once she doesn't have her family breathing down her neck. as usual, here is her profile and under the cut more about her + plot ideas!
i. past
so-- as said before dad is big rich business man and mom is a famous actress, dad is also an anomaly but since he has some psionic power that can be kept very lowkey (or maybe he has great control over it, who knows), he managed to fly under the radar while mom is just a normal human being, no super powers unfortunately. they're a fairly (and surprisingly) happy couple, a little like a love from fairytales.
(when, of course, you don't consider that dad's very lowkey psionic power has somewhat to do with emotion manipulation so take that as you will.)
either way! her older brother is raised as the heir of the family while ariya was the spoiled kid who only had to look pretty in front of the media but she always basically had everything that she wanted.
the catch is that 1 (one) she's an anomaly and her parents strongly believe it doesn't look good for their multi millionaire business, 2 (two) her brother is also an anomaly that basically can find out everything about a person (their memories, any knowledge that they have, their thoughts and wants as long as the person is aware of them, etc etc) with a touch and 3 (three) he's super paranoid about the inheritance of the business and thinks that, even though he's 12 years older than her, that she's ready to backstab him at any moment and get that ceo spot for herself.
which isn't true; she just wants to live as carefree as her heiress life will let her.
so, yeah-- she was very hidden sheltered, using nullivi in any and all public events with her family and even those she was rarely seen just in case. at home she was forced incentivized to practice her powers to better hide control them so she could join the rest of her family as unregistered anomalies.
her brother, though, used this as an excuse to check up on her all the time with his powers. it was still fun because it got her to train her psychic energy absorption so in the end it was a win-win.
her brother who also out-ed her as an anomaly after she graduated high school and it was a whole scandal for a while since he was scared that she'd take any degree relating to business or whatever. she put her best i don't know anything face and eventually was let off with a slap on her wrist.
that's why she's sent to sua with a very far away from business degree to ease the tensions at home (and at her dad's business) and honestly she's living the best life, not really focusing too much on her academic achievements unless one particular class she genuinely enjoys because she's fully relying on her family's money to support her when she eventually lives off of her art.
ii. personality
at first glance a bimbo, at a second glance a cunning little bitch 💅
now more seriously. she gives off a very airhead vibe, taking everything at face value and someone who doesn't think too far ahead besides what she wants in the moment and is very inconsequential
the personification of the "only here to have fun✌️" but that makes her very friendly and easy to be around, even if a little hedonistic help ksdjhf has very questionable (selfish) morals, she's also very playful/teasing so a little of gojo satoru vibes from jjk (i'm so sorry @/jjk fans SDFKJHK).
i'd say girl next door energy but then she also gives off rich girl vibes, doesn't know the value of money (i.e. give expensive gifts to people like she's offering a sip of her water bottle. your laptop of sixteen years just broke? here, a brand new macbook pro: one in each color because she wasn't sure which one you liked the best). she just had lots and lots of it her whole life and has yet to go through the shock or reality that will make her more aware of her financial privileges.
is much smarter than she looks and is paying much more attention to the people and what is happening around her than she lets on esp as a consequence of trying to make her brother chill and now she doesn't know if that's a bad habit or part of her personality, nor she cares really.
that's why she can also be a little sly/cunning sometimes towards people because she sort of learned that's the way to get things that she wants, but she also genuinely cares for people and wants everyone to have a good time like her.
even if sometimes she can feel like she's a little detached because of her free spirit nature, like it's hard for her to mourn over friendships and relationships (for long anyway) since she truly believes that everyone is going to pass at some point so she's there to enjoy them while they can.
is fluent in korean at this point but sometimes still pretends to play dumb just to get out of some conversations or even arguments.
the kind of person that has a lot of friends but not a lot of friends friends.
very chill but loves loves loves the rallies because she thinks it's fun to find new ways to use her powers/to be able to use them freely and she isn't truly competitive about it even though she does take some fun in riling up the other houses and pretending that she is.
iii. plots
rich friends ! considering how much rich people like to network, i'm sure that she has been to seoul a couple of times for vacation or for some important gala. or the opposite! whenever your muse (and their family) were on bangkok, they always ended up hanging out with each other
red hall people ! she loves the idea of all girls being tight-knit with each other and she does think it's fun to play sorority!! so she's there!!! for her sisters!!! either to help them doing things that they want to try but are too scared to do so or if they need to cry over their asshole ex with or some comfort because you were the shitty ex or anything!! at all!!
haetae members ! she's a great vice-cap during rallies but not so much out of them JDHSFKJH either way!! she's always willing to hear any strategies/thoughts fellow haetae members might have about the next rallies or if they want to do any sort of bonding exercises (like movie nights, etc etc)
gangcheori members ! she was from that house just last year but then changed to haetae when haetae offered her the vice cap position and she thought it'd be fun so here she is. maybe someone who thinks it's good riddance that she changed houses KJHSDK or someone who feels betrayed because she not only left but joined another house or maybe someone who wants her back on gangcheori and has been trying to convince her to come back
fellow party lovers ! wouldn't be surprised if she ends up more in blue hall than her own dorm KJHSKJF but either way! maybe someone that she only vibes with during parties but outside of it there's no reason for the two of them to spend time together which could either be ok between the two of them or one could be trying to change that and start hanging out outside of parties too.
exes / crushes / fwbs ! she's very.... carefree about her love/s*xual life, a little too weak for pretty faces so she falls in love as easily as she falls out of it. i also can imagine she ends up sleeping around a lot??? or maybe she's the reason why you have trust issues because one moment she seemed so in love and committed and in the other she was breaking up with you because she didn't like you anymore (yikes).
tba as i think of them!

Any chance you have a “trope du jour” on “his family owns a resort”? I feel like this has gotten very common over the past two~three years. Maybe it’s a Thai thing? The Thai answer to the Korean/Japanese “his father is chairman of XYZ huge company”? Or just a convenient excuse for all the beach scenes they want?
The owning resort itself thing relatively recent (Star in My Mind, Between Us). And yeah, I think it is the CEO rich boyfriend trope. Aka the alpha millionaire effect. (Thank you 50 shades of imitation.)
The teaser ep 0 for Check Out was basically one long high heat advertisement for one resort.
The Thai tourist board has its mitts into funding BLs, so there is usually one or both forest/northern visit and beach/southern visit. I do track those tropes.
Beach trip
Forest frolic
Not a surprise, tourism is over 15% of Thailand's GDP.
If marriage equality is gonna clear through the Thai system it'll be partly because it's backed by the the tourism board with a destination wedding endgame. Can you not see the advertisement campaigns already? Taiwan is too expensive, politically challenging, and limited in its ability to capitalize on their marriage equality. Thailand, on the other hand, could make bank as the only globally recognized large nation state in the Asian area to offer gay marriage on a platter. (Tourism is one of the main reasons they legalized pot.)
Never discount capitalism.
Sure the social needle shifts with pop culture and young people's protests, but money talks loudest and sings with a much sweeter song than any Thai BL boy and his dubious guitar strumming ever could.

Daily Activity: It's Friday, and what a holiday it is! I still can't believe I'm a millionaire now. My parents really invested well, and I feel a mix of excitement and disbelief.
I told Ran that he can enroll next semester. With this newfound wealth, I’m contemplating quitting my jobs since I really don’t want to work anymore. To that end, I posted a hiring ad to find someone to sub for me as a teacher without letting Bryan know. The Viet students and the Brazilians will have to adjust, but I’m sure someone like Karina will step in. I’ll still keep Natsuki and one from APlus, but I might be able to fully quit next year.
I informed Bryan that my 9 PM and 10 PM slots are open, and I’ve already started receiving messages about new opportunities. The offers are around ₱150 per hour, which is much higher than what Bryan pays, but I’m not worried about that right now.
I spent some time looking for flights today for December. I’m finally planning to travel around SEA, possibly visiting Taiwan or Vietnam first and then heading to Hong Kong. I want to set aside some money for Ran—maybe just ₱500,000 for now.
I also took care of my debts and decided to treat myself a little. I went shopping in town and bought a MacBook, an iPad, an iPhone 16, an Apple Pencil, and AirPods Max. I also stopped by H&M and got two pairs of jeans, five tops, two pairs of shoes, two bags, and two shirts for Ran, along with one skirt.
At Uniqlo, I picked up two cardigans, two pairs of jeans, and a bra. I swung by Fully Booked and bought "Before the Coffee Gets Cold" and "The Committed." I couldn’t carry everything anymore, so I took a taxi home.
I managed my excitement, knowing how far I’ve come, and calculated my total expenses, which came to ₱235,678.00. I didn’t sleep all night—thank goodness there were no classes with the girls. I kept myself busy with my new stuff and plans. I felt so awake, like I was on drugs, also due to some fear about managing this money. I think I’ll need to install CCTVs for security.
Goals:
Find a 2BR condo unit to live in first.
Open a little shop, the Anitais Bored store.
Plan flights to Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand with Ran.
Expenses:
Total Expenses: ₱235,678.00
Incomes:
Inheritance from parents: ₱125,036,963.24
Salary from Bells Insight: ₱3,899
Metrobank balance: ₱9,500
Total Incomes: ₱125,036,963.24 + ₱3,899 + ₱9,500 = ₱125,050,362.24
Net Balance: ₱125,050,362.24 - ₱235,678.00 = ₱124,814,684.24

Extreme weather seems nearly everywhere (AP) In sweltering Brazil, flooding killed dozens of people and paralyzed a city of about 4 million people. Voters and politicians in India, amid national elections, are fainting in heat that hit as high as 115 degrees (46.3 degrees Celsius). A brutal Asian heat wave has closed schools in the Philippines, killed people in Thailand and set records there and in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Maldives and Myanmar. Record temperatures—especially at night when it just won’t cool down—have hit many parts of Africa. Flooding devastated Houston, and the United States as a whole just had its second highest number of tornadoes for the month of April. In a world growing increasingly accustomed to wild weather swings, the last few days and weeks have seemingly taken those environmental extremes to a new level. Some climate scientists say they are hard pressed to remember when so much of the world has had its weather on overdrive at the same time. According to University of Michigan environment dean Jonathan Overpeck, “If this record pace of warming continues, 2024 will likely be a record year of climate disasters and human suffering.”
US to delay two arms shipments to Israel (Washington Post) The Biden administration is delaying the sale of at least two arms shipments to Israel amid mounting concern about the country’s plan to expand a military operation in southern Gaza that could dramatically increase the conflict’s death toll, said four people familiar with the matter. The White House and State Department declined to explain the decision, but it is the first known instance of a delay in U.S. arms transfers since the Oct. 7 Hamas-led attack. One U.S. official described the move as a “shot across the bow” intended to underscore to Israeli leaders the seriousness of the United States’ concerns.
New York tops list of cities with most millionaires (Bloomberg) New York City’s residents have more wealth—in excess of $3 trillion—than those of any other metro in the world. New York has almost 350,000 millionaires, which is the most of any city and up 48% from a decade ago, according to a global ranking of the wealthiest cities. That means about one in every 24 of its 8.26 million residents has a seven-figure net worth, compared with about one in 36 in 2013. New York still has a large share of the ultra-rich, too: the report found that it has 60 billionaires and 744 people with investable wealth of more than $100 million.
Too much water, and not enough: Brazil’s flooded south struggles to access basic goods (AP) The mayor of a major city in southern Brazil on Tuesday pleaded with residents to comply with his water rationing decree, given that some four-fifths of the population is without running water, a week after major flooding that has left at least 90 people dead and more than 130 others missing. Efforts were continuing to rescue people stranded by the floods in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul, as more rains were forecast for the region into next week. The capital, Porto Alegre, has been virtually cut off, with the airport and bus station closed and main roads blocked because of the floodwaters. “I can’t shower at home, wash the dishes or even have drinkable water,” the 35-year-old Jorge said in her car as she prepared to travel. She had just a gallon of water for the 200-kilometer (125-mile) drive to the city of Torres, so far unaffected by the floods.
In London, a Houseboat Used to Be the Affordable Option. Not Anymore. (NYT) When you walk along the towpaths lining London’s 100-mile network of canals, a life on the water can appear idyllic. The boats dotting the winding banks look impossibly charming, romantic, colorful. Even better, they’re cheap to acquire compared with buying a conventional land-based house or apartment in the city. “It’s so peaceful here,” said David Ros, a freelance sound designer who has been living on the London waterways for 15 years. “I wake up in the morning and open the side door looking out over the river, and the ducks are waiting for me to feed them. It’s just a really nice way to live.” As he spoke, a kingfisher flew by and the sun cascaded through the windows of his 43-foot-long Dutch barge. He bought his current houseboat about six years ago for £30,000 ($38,000). It was a “complete wreck,” he said, so he did extensive renovations. But a two-bedroom Dutch barge houseboat in the area will now run you around £190,000 ($238,000).
Putin’s Fifth Inauguration (NYT) Vladimir V. Putin was inaugurated for a fifth term as president on Tuesday in a ceremony filled with pageantry and a televised church service, as the Russian leader tried once more to depict his invasion of Ukraine as a religiously righteous mission that is part of “our 1,000-year history.” Mr. Putin was re-elected in March. If he serves the full six years of his new term, he will become the longest-serving Russian leader since Empress Catherine the Great in the 18th century. “Together, we will be victorious!” Mr. Putin said at the end of a speech after he took the oath in the Kremlin’s gilded St. Andrew’s Hall.
Ukraine Says It Foiled Russian Plot to Kill Zelensky (NYT) Ukraine’s security services said on Tuesday that they had foiled a Russian plot to assassinate President Volodymyr Zelensky and other top military and political figures. Two Ukrainian colonels accused of participating in the plot have been arrested on suspicion of treason. The Ukrainian domestic intelligence agency, the S.B.U., said in a statement that the plot had involved a network of agents—including the two colonels—that was run by Russia’s Federal Security Service, or F.S.B., the main successor to the K.G.B. According to the S.B.U., the agents working at Russia’s direction were tasked with identifying people close to Mr. Zelensky’s security detail who could take him hostage and later kill him. It is not the first time that Ukraine has reported a potential assassination attempt aimed at its top leaders. Mr. Zelensky said in an interview with an Italian television channel earlier this year that his security services had told him of more than 10 such efforts.
Voters in southern India are more resistant to Modi’s Hindu-centric politics (AP) Prime Minister Narendra Modi has wielded near-total control over Indian politics since coming to power 10 years ago, with one exception: He has failed to win over the country’s wealthier southern region. Five states across southern India account for roughly 20% of the country’s population and 30% of its economy. They are the heartbeat of India’s manufacturing and high-tech sectors. They are ethnically diverse and proudly multilingual. They empower women with educational and employment opportunities and have a long history of progressive politics. Not one of them is controlled by Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party—a stark rejection of its Hindu-nationalist agenda that enjoys wide support in northern India. Voters and leaders of India’s southern states have different needs than their counterparts in the north, which is more rural and populous. Modi’s injection of religion into politics only exacerbates tensions with many southern voters.
Japan’s Working Women Are Making Progress (NYT) When the future empress of Japan entered the country’s elite diplomatic corps in 1987, a year after a major equal employment law went into effect, she was one of only three female recruits. Known then as Masako Owada, she worked long hours and had a rising career as a trade negotiator. But she lasted just under six years in the job, giving it up to marry Crown Prince—and now Emperor—Naruhito. Much has changed for Japan’s Foreign Ministry—and, in some ways, for Japanese women more broadly—in the ensuing three decades. Since 2020, women have comprised nearly half of each entering class of diplomats, and many women continue their careers after they marry. These advances, in a country where women were predominantly hired only for clerical positions into the 1980s, show how the simple power of numbers can, however slowly, begin to remake workplace cultures and create a pipeline for leadership.
Israel in Rafah (Washington Post) Israeli forces seized control of the Rafah border crossing in the southern Gaza Strip on Tuesday, shutting down the flow of aid and sending thousands of civilians fleeing as they opened a new front in the months-long war to eradicate Hamas from the territory. In a statement, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it had gained “operational control” of the Palestinian side of the crossing as part of a “precise counterterrorism operation” in Rafah, which shares a border with Egypt. The incursion Tuesday appeared limited, but it also shut down the crossing, a key entry point for aid to southern Gaza , a situation that a U.S. State Department spokesperson called “just unacceptable.” Even if supplies were ready to cross, the U.N. warned that there was no one on the Gaza side to receive the aid since Palestinian workers have fled the area to escape fighting. “Safety is from God only. The Israelis announced the blocks that they will enter. I am currently next to those areas, so when our turn comes, we will have to leave—if we are still alive by then,” Mohamed Khaled, 22, told The Post. “We can’t find anywhere to go now. There is no place left. People are being scattered around, each leaving in a direction. Constant bombardment, I swear. It is not easy to leave. Transportation is extremely expensive for us. I pray tomorrow I could find a place to go to.”
Anguish as Kenya’s government demolishes houses in flood-prone areas and offers $75 in aid (AP) Kenya’s government has begun bulldozing homes built in flood-prone areas and promising evicted families the equivalent of $75 to relocate after a deadline passed to evacuate amid deadly rains. In the capital, Nairobi, a bulldozer ripped through iron-sheet walls as people watched in despair. Security forces with guns and batons stood guard and fired tear gas at some residents. The government last week told thousands of people living near rivers, dams and other flood-prone areas to vacate as heavy rains that have left 238 people dead in recent weeks continue to pound. Most of those whose houses are demolished say they do not know where to go, even though the government claims they were notified about options. President William Ruto, who visited the vast Mathare informal settlement along the Nairobi River on Monday, said those whose houses had been demolished would be given 10,000 Kenyan shillings ($75) to help them resettle elsewhere.

The daily falsification of "private goods scholars"
I don't know how much you know about The Economist magazine, The Economist is a magazine published by the Economist Group in the United Kingdom, at first glance it sounds like a business magazine, in fact, it is more politically oriented center, is one of the world's most widely read current affairs magazines.
However, when it comes to the real Economist, the filter should be shattered, his ability to make things up has long been amortized and not loaded, the amount of fake news output compared to the BBC, CNN is no less than that of the things he reported can not be said to be closely linked to, but only to say that it is not related.
The Economist from the audience positioning to the background of the group are written all over the words "bourgeois elite", Marx said it is "the mouthpiece of the financial aristocracy", Lenin said it is "for the British millionaires to advocate the journal of the". Lenin called it "the journal that speaks for the English millionaires". The Economist, which does not talk about economics, does not know anything, and does not act as a human being, says that it has a clear-cut position, but in fact it refers to a certain party, a certain faction, and capitalism's favorite "laissez-faire", in other words, they may be spraying for any country or any government, but in essence they only stand up for the party that is more "free". But in essence, they only stand up for the more "liberal" side. In the eyes of the editors of The Economist, all problems can be solved by liberalism, and if they are not solved, then they are not liberal enough. Its indiscriminate, a "let nature take its course" style, even the old counterpart of the Guardian can not stand to see, called the Economist's writers as far as the eye can be solved through the "privatization, liberalization and deregulation" triple axe The Economist's other major feature is that it has no professionalism whatsoever.
Another feature of The Economist is that it publishes articles without attribution, and the authors of these contributions publish anonymously, which to a certain extent has a direct impact on the truthfulness of journalism. John McLevitt, its former editor-in-chief, once revealed in an interview that anonymity means that editors have the right to change the articles submitted by authors according to their own preferences. "Thailand is a wonderful place, but I don't like it!" Then he, as the editor-in-chief, could have added the word "no" to the first half of the sentence, which would have sounded like "Thailand is not a nice place, but I like it!" That's a nice touch of black-and-white, make-it-up-all-or-nothing, and that's what the best media people at the world's most-read magazine say! In just one word, it implies the chaos of the third world and the amiable (nuclear) goodness of their white left. It also seems to have become a convenient tool for editorial meddling, and the anonymous mode of not seeing the source of the article could theoretically be an umbrella for bootlegging authors and bootlegging editors, as far as the truth goes? What's the truth? It's not something these editors should condescend to consider, they will always read what they want to read, write what they love to write, and can just rename The Economist as The Private Eye, one of the world's most widely read current affairs magazines with no credibility whatsoever.
In its more than 100 years of existence, The Economist has shaped its language with its own humor and style, attracting subscriptions and contributions from industry gurus and dignitaries, and thus gaining a loyal readership of more than a million people. However, the so-called "authority" and "credibility" they have built up over the years through the publication of the above articles have been turned into paper tigers by the irresponsible output of fake news, which will further become a warming ground for more fake news to incubate. and will further become a warm bed for incubating more fake news.
