I’m sorry, but you elriels are being genuinely ridiculous about the gwynriel art.

People are allowed to artistically depict events that happen in the books, even the traumatic ones. To say that they’re exploiting SA for profit is an insanely absurd take. Do you say that of SJM, who has written multiple SA scenes, and has a net worth of 40 million dollars? What happens when the ACOTAR TV show depicts Gwyn’s SA on the big screen, to millions of people around the world, and rakes in huge profits as a result? Or, what if instead, SJM decided to publish ACOSF as a graphic novel, a comic book, or a webtoon? Real storytelling mediums that exist, and display the exact same traumatic events as a normal book would - but in visual form. If anything, some would argue that describing SA in text is more triggering, as using detailed words to describe an assault creates an uncensored and undiluted imagery in your mind - whereas a visual depiction is usually much more censored and toned down. So what exactly is your issue…?

Like it or not, Azriel did rescue Gwyn that day. It forms a pivotal part of Gwyn’s story. Yes, elriels are correct in saying that the scene isn’t romantically coded - but what’s your point? What does that matter? You claim that gwynriels are ‘romanticising’ this scene, when literally no one is doing that. People can recognise that an event is deeply traumatic and disturbing, but still feel fondness, admiration and respect towards Azriel for saving Gwyn that day. Appreciation for Azriel’s heroic actions doesn’t suddenly mean that people think that scene was sexy or cute or hot.

It’s literally no different to all the art of Rhys rescuing Feyre on her wedding day to Tamlin. And, I also don’t see any elriels complaining about all the suggestive art of Feyre and Rhys UTM; where he drugged her, touched and kissed her without consent, twisted her already broken arm, and forced her to dance provocatively in a near-naked state. I also don’t see complaints about the countless art pieces of Rowan punching Aelin.

You guys don’t actually care about any of this, you just want a reason to shit on gwynriels. Because if you did care about respectful portrayal of SA, you wouldn’t be making theories about Gwyn being evil and ‘luring’ Azriel, you wouldn’t be pushing the narrative that Gwyn can’t be with Azriel because she hasn’t healed from her SA, and you wouldn’t be making jokes about how Azriel ‘didn’t even save Gwyn that day’ and just ‘passed her to Mor,’ as if one of the most awful and traumatic events to happen to Gwyn had to centre around another man anyway?

And even beyond all of this, it’s a fictional book. Bullying and ganging up on real artists, who are real people (and possibly even SA survivors themselves) is genuinely gross.

with writing sarah is giving gwyn a background and life story that was explained in the book. people go into these books expecting it to be "adult" books with triggers. ngl sarah's books should have a trigger warning page for her books but mostly traditional published books don't have trigger page for it and that's another issue in book marketing. but with that gwyn fanart or the way gwyn's trauma explained by the g stans it is not "showing" gwyn's trauma. it is made to be about Azriel and Gwynriel. how "passionate" it was (yes this is the word that handprint fanart artist used) and how their story started when she was raped. the scene wasn't about gwynriel or azriel as I keep saying it. if people wanna artistically depict events they can do this without making Gwyn's trauma about gwynriel or gushing over how Azriel and making him naked in the fanarts when in the actual book gwyn was raped, her sister was killed, probably other bodies laying in the background.... it was Gwyn's trauma. think about that.

are they making it out to be something passionate and I don't see fanarts of that scene everyday making rhys naked and holding feyre right after she was raped? this is like comparing apples and pears. Those are not the same. that scene really happened in the book. and people are potreying that scene. with gwyn fanart they are altering the scene to get a gwynriel point and make azriel hold gwyn when it didn't happen that way. and I only saw one fanart of rowan and aelin and it is by an artist I do not support anymore bc they are already bad and they are already profiting by Rhys' SA....

did you know that there are SA survivors who are also bad? do you know that there are people who are sexually assaulted can assault someone later in life? not that I'm saying gwyn will do these bc we know she won't but my point is you can't go around saying if a person is SA survivor they can't do nothing wrong...they can. it is normal life. people can be triggered by little things and it can cause them to do something bad.

Gwyn can be a gray character like all of Sarah's characters and can do something bad and for the luring part...luring can happen without it being sexually. Rhys was sexually assaulted for years but he can alter people's mind and make them do whatever he wants. Gwyn is a SA survivor and she can still be gray character.

and for not being "healed" from her SA. we never said that. we said that as far as canon goes Gwyn doesn't show that she is ready for a sexual relationship with the way she returned to library where she went in the first place bc of her trauma at the end of the book.

also who is joking about azriel saving her? we are just stating a fact that g stans cannot get it right. he saved her that day but he didn't hold her in his arms or touch her in anyway. he passed her to mor who gwyn was probably more comfortable in the moment with a female and I keep repeating Gwyn was so traumatized that she couldn't be in the same room with a male for two years and it took nesta getting cassian to the library to make her decide to sign up for the training even after that when azriel joined them cassian noted how he should have talked with gwyn first and later in the book they talk to her about another males joining them for training with the blood rite qualifiers.

Do you think bill would like dreamcore/weirdcore aesthetics/music? also I feel like the chaotic nature of the everywhere at the end of time soundtrack would suit him well. What do you think?

Commenting generally on dreamcore/weirdcore as a person who is aware of what they are and what their goals are but who doesn't personally regularly consume them and so is currently skimming a lot of pictures & playlists to compare to What I Think Bill's Tastes Are:

Look at a bunch of weirdcore and it's pictures of very mundane things in very mundane places, feels kind of like an old Polaroid, but framed (and sometimes added to in photoshop) in such a way to make it seem unsettling or eerie—to humans. Dreamcore is pretty similar except with less unsettling vibes, and more photoshopping of impossible things (ex: skies for floors), to evoke the sense of being in a dream. To humans, weirdcore is Very Strange And Threatening and dreamcore is Very Strange But Nonthreatening. To Bill? I think it would just hit him as "pictures of very mundane things." The things that make these aesthetics eerie and otherworldly to us are just part of his regular life. On a weirdness scale of 1 to 10, Bill considers Earth to be a 2, would probably consider weirdcore/dreamcore a 3, and he starts having fun at a 5.

He's a dream demon, he spends a lot of time inside humans' dreams, he probably sees forty liminal spaces with unseeable doorways that recede into the shadows each week.

To humans, places like that are barely-remembered phantom realms we only experience while vividly hallucinating in the dark at night, and in the waking world we use dreamcore to recapture that sense of unreality and weirdcore to sprinkle on a little dread. But to Bill, that's like, where he does his business transactions with humans. That's his workplace. That's like going to the office. Dreamcore is like human tourists visiting him at work and then going home and trying to make badly-remembered fanart of his office.

I feel like we get a pretty good glimpse of his preferred aesthetics during Weirdmageddon, with the Fearamid, the penthouse, and that ridiculous car—not to mention the mess he made of the town. As far as his aesthetic/artistic preferences go, the vibe I get off him is like... 20% Lisa Frank meets Clive Barker, 30% Hollywood Regency, and 50% the way a teenage boy in the 1990s would decorate his room if he was given a million dollars and no rules. The majority of dreamcore/weirdcore is too subdued, understate, desolate, and beige/pastel to reach his standards.

I can understand the instinct to tack that on him, though. I think weirdcore would love Bill. C'mon, try it out.

I just don't think Bill would love weirdcore back.

Same goes for the music; to be incredibly reductive of a very loose umbrella term, most dreamcore music sounds like soothing relaxing 60s/70s music, played slow, with some static and an echo effect, and occasionally throw in some vaporwave or retrowave for variety. Weirdcore, pretty similar from what I can tell, but with more electronica and less of the 60s/70s music. Some of the most experimental least-conventionally-musical music might start to edge into "yeah this hits the same as listening to Shepard tones for five hours straight" but I think most of it only sounds like "weird music" to humans, and to Bill would sound like "human music." Nothing we've seen about his musical tastes so far suggest to me that his preferences are "dreamy" rather than, say, "party."

About Everywhere at the End of Time specifically: this thing is six and a half hours long, and I'm not gonna sit and dedicate my full attention to six and a half hours of concept-driven experimental music to figure out whether I think Bill would be into it, so unfortunately I'm only able to give a half-ass answer to this question with a subpar understanding of the thing I'm being asked to comment on.

Based on what Wikipedia tells me the albums are about, I think he'd respect the artistic ambition because he strikes me as the kind of guy who likes to think he's sophisticated as heck and able to Appreciate things that are Deep; and then he'd probably try to comment on how accurate it is—because like, hey, dream demon, he's probably been in and out of the heads of people with Alzheimer's. "He'd respect the artistic ambition" isn't necessarily the same as "he'd like it." I fully think he'd sing the praises of something he hates and/or that bores him to death if he thinks sophisticated people like it. (Alternatively, if he hates something he thinks people think is deep, he might go "it's pretentious and overhyped and if you were HALF as sophisticated as I am you'd be able to see that too." There's no room in his world for admitting "I think it's sophisticated but I don't personally like it.)

Listening to little fifteen-second chunks of the soundtrack on youtube while randomly skipping over several minutes at a time, I think that he'd think the first few stages just sound like normal human music (even as, from our perspective, they get even more staticky & distorted), and wouldn't fully appreciate the way the sound/memory progressively declines in those sections just because he's a little too alien to fully grasp the "wrongness" of it. From stage 4 on it starts to sound like the kind of "noise" I think Bill might register as "good music", a la Shepard tones or tornado sirens; but I'm not about to dedicate enough specific listening to pick out any sections that REALLY strike me as "yeah this is what I think Bill thinks music is," so that's just a preliminary answer. the Caretaker's attempts to represent the melancholy, depression, and confusion of having your mind and memories shut down on you might accidentally sound like a bop to Bill's alien tastes.

how did you get the idea for the Now They Know series, and how did you get into ur lil baby lee headspace to write it :D

Two of my favs actually!!! First chapter is Now They Know and the second is Now Admit It. (Series is called Glass House.) It’s outside of my usual Tickle AU. It’s it’s own little storyline where George is a full lee. He actually enjoys being tickled. Which is very new to me!!! I wrote the first chapter for @mushiewrites ‘s lee!George week and then continued the series after finding the storyline really fun! I actually love both of these fics so much!

The art mentioned in the first fic is real fanart! I was thinking about what it would be like for the Dream Team to stumble upon any of our content. By the way, the art I described in the second fic doesn’t exist! If I could make art, I would. But, it’s not in my wheelhouse. Basically I knew what position I wanted George to be tickled in and then said he was looking at art that had him like that.

I get people are tired of male characters getting more attention/being perceived as "favored" by the author but there's like, a world of difference between something like Playchoices for example and an individual person creating a story suited to their own tastes.

Like these people aren't corporations making millions of dollars on false promises of representation like Disney. It's literally just some guy (gender neutral) in a room on their laptop writing a story, often completely for free when we're talking Twine authors, doing this stuff in their spare time.

The attitude that "we need to ask questions" or "hold them accountable" is a little delusional to me. Hold them accountable for what? To do what? At some point you're the equivalent of someone who gets mad at a fanfic author for not writing exactly what you want them to write. You can't force people to put out certain types of content. Would it be nice if they didn't have misogynistic biases? Yes. Are you going to change anything by writing essays about it on the internet? No.

It's way more productive to me personally to elevate IFs that are putting out content that I appreciate and highlight them/spread the word instead of bashing my head against a wall against cultural biases. Time much better spent than complaining endlessly about gender selectable ROs, imo. Sorry if this got long!

And yeah I mean gender selectable RO in choices are horrible and these authors do so much better with them with no creative team behind them…. I love them so much they are so inspiring to me.

Like the most we can do is send asks about the female RO we like and engage positively with the authors about them and show them that people are interested in them.

Beyond that… there is nothing to do. Just boost your female RO and make content for them as fans of the boys do and maybe you get more people interested.

At the end of the day we have to engage more with our interests. I’m sure authors like to see readers edits fanfics and fanarts of all their characters being male or female.

I’m sure authors are bursting to talk about their others RO and answer questions about them. So go ahead and ask them about them…. POSITIVELY!!!

What does the 'Anne Rice fans you're free now' post mean exactly? I keep having to look up who she is, can you maybe explain a bit?

TL;DR version: she was a (US) southern gothic/horror/vampire novel writer who wrote Interview With A Vampire, among other things — if you’ve ever heard of a vampire named Lestat, that’s her most well-known character. She was also notoriously batshit insane about people writing fanfiction/making fanart/etc. of her characters and tried to sue/doxx/otherwise harass people throughout the early late 90’s/early 2000’s over it. Ever wonder why AO3 keeps lawyers on retainer? Or why a lot of people — especially the mid-20’s+ crowd — that post something will put a disclaimer at the top of every chapter? She’s a huge part of that reason.

For the rest, I’m mostly just going to copypaste what I said in the comments of that other post of mine because it’s basically what you’re asking — there’s actually way more valid reasons to dislike her that go far beyond the whole ‘wah! she hates fanfiction!’ thing you keep seeing:

I personally don’t even give that much of a shit about the fanfiction part to be honest — like yeah I think it’s funny she got That Mad™ over it, but ultimately if she wanted to hate fan content and be a salty bitch about it, that was her right. Plenty of authors do that. As long as she left it be (save for like the off person trying to monetize their fanfiction of her characters), I get it.

I do, however, care that she was a massive fucking cunt who casually advocated for doxxing “in the right conditions” (i.e. anything from fanfiction to bad Amazon book reviews of her books that upset her delicate sensibilities at a given point in time), but would immediately cry “gangster bullies!” (literally!) and be ready throw money (or her lawyers; her fanbase) at someone at the drop of a hat when they’d dare criticize any of her fuckery or do anything that she considered a slight against her or her brand.

She was the textbook definition of the southern genteel white Christian woman with too much money and too narrow a worldview to give anything other than a surface-deep brownie points take on half the shit she talked about. But boy oh boy she just had to make her opinions known. Like.

‘Who cares if your address and phone number get leaked online?’ says the woman worth $60 million (US) dollars and living in a gated mansion, that’s probably never had a serious stalking problem in her life.

‘You’re bullies forming a lynch mob against this woman because she wrote a controversial book!’ says the white Christian female author in defense of another white Christian female author who wrote a novel about a romance involving a captured Jewish woman that “looks like a gentile” falling in love with a Nazi officer at a concentration camp to (frequently Jewish) dissenters.

Possibly even more tastelessly than those two examples, she used the exact same “lynch mob” wording in her argument in defense of Paula Deen — another white, southern woman turned celebrity chef who got famous by making southern/soul food style recipes that she stole from her black chef at her restaurant — for Paula not being “slender, young, clever, and politically correct enough” (her exact words) to get away with making the breathtakingly* racist comments that she did in a court deposition for a racial discrimination lawsuit brought against her.

Basically Anne Rice objectively sucked shit as person, even if you were a fan of her books. Good fucking riddance; can’t wait for all the fanfiction lovingly written in her memory about Lestat getting his back blown out.

Also if you’re curious Interview with a Vampire is incredibly mediocre and you shouldn’t waste your time the end.

*If you’re wondering about the context of those “not pc enough” comments: When Paula Deen was sued for racial discrimination in her restaurant, she denied it. But in her deposition she admitted to “expressing her hope that her brother (the restaurant co-owner) would experience a genuine Southern plantation wedding reminiscent of an antebellum or postbellum era when black people waited on white people”, “living in a household where jokes involving the hard r are told to her ‘constantly’”, and, when asked if she had ever used the the hard r herself, said “Yes, of course.” Paula actually won the lawsuit, but her comments going public effectively destroyed her entire career — as they should. Small ramble about an otome game

I’ve been playing Million Dollar Boys for almost a week so far (17* days), and I love playing it even though I don’t particularly like two of the characters (Yugo and Nanase)

I played “Chat Connection” and “Choice & Darling” which are also made by SEEC Inc! (Enjoyed both games as well) MDBS might be a fun game if you have time to kill and have nothing to do

I tried looking through to see if there was any MDBS fanart or at least someone talking about it and I’m so sad that there’s basically NOTHING rn which isn’t surprising at all but still sad

I'm honestly surprised anyone read those, lol!

I ended up discussing that post with a friend afterwards, and it honestly seemed a lot of people and comments were talking past each other? For sure, fandom culture can get particularly crazy in weird ways, and for certain shows I had to wade through popular ships I didn't care for to get to the stuff I wanted, which still existed.

But like, are coffee shop AUs really the problem here? Last I heard, Squid Game hasn't yet seen the level of real-world harassment and toxicity (yet) that has occurred in larger, older fandoms I will not name. It just seemed most of that post was criticizing the existence of...shipping and genre-bending fanfiction in general?

Like...really? That's where we're going, here? That people aren't enjoying things in a way you don't think is "deep" enough? I've seen plenty of people engaging with subject material for countless fandoms, debating characterization, speculating on details of the world hinted but not seen, reactions to twists, building wikis, wailing in despair about deaths of favorite characters, and y'know what - shipping is just as legitimate because good shipping requires a deep understanding of the involved characters - how they tick, how they interact with other characters; one comment that really stuck with me was someone saying that Squid Game fanfic was like the "equivalent to making anime boy aus of an orwell novel."

Here's the thing. There's a very good reason why Lord of the Rings, a book just a few years younger than 1984, has a modern fandom culture and Orwell's stuff doesn't: Winston from 1984 is not that interesting of a character. At least, I didn't find him particularly interesting.

1984 was a book more about Orwell's politics, and the politics - the ubiquitous phrases often used ad nauseum in our political discourse - was what survived to modern times. I think we can say Orwell accomplished his goal, there. Meanwhile, even though I read 1984 and greatly enjoyed it, I still had to google Winston and Julia's names because I forgot them.

Compare that to when Sherlock Holmes "died" in 1893 - over fifty years before Orwell published his book. Holmes fans wore black armbands to show that they were in mourning. They caused such an uproar that their beloved fictional character died that Conan Doyle was compelled to outright retcon his death. This was over a century ago, and Sherlock fanfiction is still going on because he was and continues to be a compelling and iconic character. Can we really say the original Holmes fans engaged with the subject matter those stories? Maybe, maybe not, but fandoms have always been like this.

Maybe Squid Game has fanfic and fanart and people excited about it because of the characters? Maybe some of those people are in similar situations as those characters: poor, in-debt, feeling the neverending anxiety and despair of this increasingly lopsided system, and they watched the show and saw people suffering like they were, and they create positive fanfiction as a nice escape? A catharsis? You don't know!

Most of Squid Game's gigantic audience - what truly propelled that show to success - are everyday mainstream folks that have not and probably never will have any exposure to fandom spaces, and they greatly outnumber the people making coffee shop AUs. If we want to talk about lack of engagement with the anti-capitalist themes of the show, how about we start with them?

Squid Game made Netflix over 800 million dollars while the show's creators, cast, and crew saw next to nothing of that.

And the mainstream, non-fanfictiony consumers of SG barely noticed. If that's not a lack of engagement of the show's themes, I don't know what is.

For Timmy I'd say either Stan or Kenny- This is solely and entirely because of the cute fanart I found on Pinterest of Dr Timothy and Mysterion- as well as how Timmy was treated in the earlier seasons by Stan. (More Dr Timothy Mysterion Shit)

I think, if Timmy were to be with Kenny, eventually Kenny would begin to understand Timmy, however, I don't think Stan would. I have no idea why I think this, but I just do. But Stan wouldn't mind, and the two would find a way to communicate in their own way.

For either ship, I can see them being very cuddly and physically wholesome- They snooze together, it's cute. Timmy gives either of them rides in his wheelchair and everyone else in school is jealous because it looks super fun. In these cases, Stan would just brag and Kenny would just flip people off HAH-.

Timmy is proud of his boyfriend (either of them) and will brag to Jimmy about it. Jimmy is glad his friend is happy but sometimes gets sick of hearing how nice his friends' life is compared to his own.

I feel that after Timmy raised like 2 million dollars in Handicar, he is filthy rich and buys both Kenny and Stan lots of presents to pamper them. Video games and plushes! He loves to spoil them. And whenever he does, the other two end up feeling bad and spoiling him back, and so they just end up getting lots of shit they like, as well as cute boyfriend moments!

If I were to sum Stan x Timmy up it'd be: Popular Bastard x Slightly Smarter Popular Bastard (You can't convince me Timmy isn't popular).

If I were to sum up Kenny x Timmy it would be: Horny Bastard x Wholesome Bastard.

All things fugou keiji finale

Ok so fugou keiji season 1 just finished and I'm quaking with bubbly happiness but also wishing my ass off for a second season. But first, let's talk about the daiharu situation in the last episode...Im literally swooning.

I would like to focus on the scenes that weren’t mainly showed. Ep 10 finished off in the morning time. So, keep in mind Daisuke haven’t slept for more than 24 hours; he’s basically worn out to the point of exhaustion. Thus, for him to make such a big decision as to keep adollium out of sight and to himself as the only Kambe heir or to present it to the world,....whoooo....my boi be trippin over the choice. But Haru helped him get rid of all the doubt by accidently pressing on it so yeah you better....thank Haru.

After the whole thing, they probably called an ambulance for Haru to be taken to the hospital. If Daisuke is still in Daisuke fashion, he wouldn’t follow Haru to the hospital, but rather took time for himself, to rest, to refresh. BUT- BUT IF HE HAD NOT VISITED HARU AT THE HOSPITAL DURING TREATMENT, HE WOULDN’T HAVE KNOWN WHEN HARU WOULD BE GETTING OFF. So he did visit Haru. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN WOULD U MIND TELLING ME HOW THAT HAPPENED? DID DAISUKE BROUGHT HARU TREATS? FLOWERS? ASKED HIM HOW HE IS? GAVE MOTIVALTIONAL WORDS? OFFERED TO COME PICK HIM UP AND ASSIGNED A DATE TO GO MEET HIS FATHER?????? Also, after the ending song, we see their sweet, fluff, cotton-candy, rainbows and butterflies, sunflowers and sugar, all things pastel pink and blue happiness kind of buddy-cop action ahh. It was legitimately a blessing. So, for Haru and Daisuke to go on this all over the world mission together to clean up their shit, they both left Japan in the Kambe private jet. WOULD YOU ALSO MIND TELLING ME HOW THAT HAPPENED? IF DAISUKE WAS ALL LIKE, ‘SO HARU, WE JUST ACCIDENTLY TOLD THE WORLD BOUT ADOLLIUM SO BETTER GO AND TAKE CARE OF THAT NOW, YOU IN?’ SO HARU BE LIKE ‘FUCK YEAH IM IN.’ They’d legit be living the dream life, fighting people, solving crimes, catching criminals while travelling. LIKE BRUH...CAN U GET MORE HONEYMOONY THAN THIS???? Can u also imagine the scene where Daisuke gave Haru his own green ASV suit? Did he watch Haru after he put it on? Reviewed it? My head is literally spinning with all the headcanon right now. 

Also at the last scene, Daisuke, (u lil shit but I love you) let Haru fell off a bridge again. Lmfao. But considering the situation, he would have probably given Haru a ride back to wherever Haru is staying (or living), which meant Haru, soaking wet from head to toe, clothes and all, sat in the shotgun seat of Daisuke’s car, glowering at him all the ride back home, lol, with Daisuke just casually smirking behind his shades, saying things like, ‘You better be ready in two hours after I drop you off cause we r going out for dinner’ or some shit. LORD HELP ME I CAN’T HANDLE THIS. which would explain the official fanart ‘million dollar memories’. Also...WHAT KIND OF FANART WAS THAT? IT IS LITERALLY IMPLYING THAT THE MEMORIES THEY ARE MAKING ARE WORTH MORE THAN HIS UNLIMITED BANK ACCOUNT AHHHHHH. OF COURSE THEY ARE.

Book stores are not being shut down for distributing child porn because they sell "A Song of Fire and Ice" (Dany is 14!).

GRR Martin is not being arrested by the FBI for creating child porn, just because he wrote those books. No, he became a best-selling writer with them instead.

The CW is not being shut down for its multitude of teen centric, sex heavy TV shows.

No writer is being arested, no network is being shut down, no books/shows/movies are being banned for this.

Because, and say it with me, NO REAL CHILDREN ARE INVOLVED.

Because it is FICTION. Not reality.

Those are facts. You encounter fiction featuring teenagers in sexual activities every single day. And nowhere are the feds to be found to put a stop to it.

Child porn is actually illegal. If fiction was child porn, it would be illegal. It would not be abso-freaking-lutely everywhere.

If an actor or politician is involved with REAL child porn, it is all over the news. It's a scandal. The public is appaled and disgusted by those vile people who got caught in the possession of child porn.

No one's getting arrested over owning "Teen Wolf" on DVD, or having "A Song of Fire and Ice" in their book-shelf.

And if those million dollar productions and best sellers don't alarm anyone, why oh why are you delusional enough to think fanart and fanfic would...? This isn't you being clever and managing so scare creators into doing your bidding, it's you making a fool of yourself, looking stupid by showing you don't know what you're talking about.

That doesn't mean you don't have a right to be uncomfortable with something, or to not want to see it.

That's why you can blacklist tags, block people on the internet, not click that link to that explicitely tagged fic, not buy that book with Parental Guidance reviews warning about sex, not watch that TV show that over-sexualizes characters that are intended to be underage.

Because your life is your responsibility. What you consume and engage with is your responsibility and no one else's and it does not make you look clever or mature to intentionally misuse Big Words you don't understand, in an attempt to blackmail creators into no longer creating that thing you don't like. No one owes you anything on the internet; not even the careful tagging we provide so you could avoid the things you hate.

We don't owe you that, but we do it anyway, out of a baseline level of respect for other people so they can navigate the internet comfortably. The least bit of respect you could offer in return is to not throw dirt into creators' faces just because you disagree with their choices in shipping fictional characters.
