at first its only pain.... once the bond gets stronger... I feel like they would feel more sensations from their soulmate.

What happens when their soulmate dies? How does that affect them? Does it also transfer over to things like disabilities and terminal illnesses?

Only wounds and pain transfer. If the death was caused by wounds, both soulmates would die (tho this depends of the healing access they have)

Ex: if vi was shit in the head, cait would die too. But if vi was stabbed in a non lethal place, she could die from blood loss if she doesn’t get healing, but cait could live cause she has better access to it. Cait healing would buy vi a little more time to get help! But it wouldn’t magically heal her too. I think soulmates could achieve that with their bond developing and getting a deeper connection….

Disabilities are the same way. If they were caused by illness it wouldn’t transfer but if they were caused by wounds… yes but again depending on the healing access.

The other soulmate would also feel the pain of the disability, but they wouldn’t have it themselves.

CaitVi Soulmates AU Part 7

Vander savored watching Vi and her siblings. She was tucked to her chin under the blankets, and unconscious again from the painkillers which finally seemed to be working.

Powder, who’d been struggling with the situation and grasped onto Claggor for the last few hours finally released him.

Claggor was growing up too—and Vander was thankfully he’d been able to step up and soothe Powder when he’d been unable. The boys had looked after her for the past hours.

They were all shaken up, though. Seeing Vi being hit by the strange blue blast had to have been terrifying. Even secondhand, Vander wasn’t sure how he was going to be able to sleep tonight.

“She’s very sore. She had surgery.” He’d warned Powder, knowing she might want to rush to her and not think in her joy to see her sister. Last thing he wanted was for Powder to jump on her, “Be gentle with her.”  

Powder had curled herself partially on the mattress against Vi’s right arm, Vi’s fingers twitching against her hair.

The boys had taken seats at her sides.

Mylo rested his head on the mattress beside her, pulling the blanket up further to cover her shoulder which had slipped from beneath.

They were okay—his kids were okay. He took the moment to absorb the moment, letting Powder stay snuggled with her sister while he took a breath in the hallway.

He heard them all talking softly between themselves about the books Ekko had found in a Piltie dumpster. Everything was fine. They were all fine.

Vander took a second moment to go to the restroom to splash cold water in his face and catch his breath.

They were in Piltover. Piltover’s medical attention had saved Vi; there was no denying that. Nowhere in Zaun had doctors or surgical access like what was available up here.

Zaun’s healers might not have been able to fix her.

And he was thankful for it.

But Vi clearly was staying  the night, and the hospital would expect payment for this.

Maybe she’d rally during the night, and he’d be able to get her home in the morning. Once she was awake and more conscious and removed from the tubes and wires.

It’ll be alright. He told himself.

A sharp faced woman warned him that visiting hours were over and reminded him that his kids couldn’t stay.

Some things didn’t change.

The undercity man and his kids weren’t particularly welcome here. He’d been lucky the Kirammans had told them to let Vi’s siblings see her and break the visitation rules as it was. It was now thirty minutes past visiting hours.

“I….I’ll make sure they get home.” He assured her, internally leveling his annoyance at the aggression.

Now wasn’t the time to mouth off.

Sevika was closing the bar.

He just needed to get them back there.

Vander suddenly paused, weighing the options between staying with Vi and sending them through Piltover streets with increased enforcer presence.

They were still talking softly from inside the room, talking to Vi and sitting around her—this was good for her, probably. He didn’t want them to stop talking to her already.

She probably needs sleep.

He found himself torn in half. How was he supposed to leave here? How was he supposed to get the kids home?

He should have asked Sevika to stay or send someone else up. Vi had been getting surgery. He hadn’t been thinking.  

Vander exhaled through pursed lips.

“Sir.” The sharp faced woman continued, “Do I need to get someone to direct you to the exit?”

Fuck, fuck.

His fists tightened. He needed to stay calm—needed to think.

“Dr. Kiramman. Or Councilor Kiramman. I’d….I’d like to talk to them?” He raised his voice at the end, sounding too much like a question.

His kids needed to go home to sleep. Violet needed to sleep.

“They’re busy with their own daughter.”

“I….I know—”

It was one of the Kiramman’s staff who was sent to see them.

“Mr. Vander?” She asked, tucking a strand of brown hair behind her ear.

“Uh….HI.” He did his best to explain the situation. That he was concerned about his kids getting home past enforcers. That he was concerned about leaving Vi.

She pressed her chin into her knuckles as she paused to think.

“Give me a minute.” She turned tail on her heels, tapping back to the Kiramman girl’s room.

The same sharp faced administration woman kept an eye of him, a large man had joined her—security.

He didn’t have time for this.

Cassandra, surprisingly, was the one who came out. He felt bad for taking her away from her daughter and then reminded himself that he was also being pulled away from Vi by this situation.

His kids were together—they were looking after Vi and each other. He’d raised them to do that.

“I have options.” She straightened her shoulders, intense eyes piercing into him.

Vander did his best to roll his shoulders back and straighten under her gaze.

“Minors can’t stay overnight in this wing.” Cassandra stated.

Vander nodded. That he understood. His kids would be better off going home to sleep in their own beds after their day, and Vi would benefit from quiet privacy to sleep.

“Option one is that Sheriff Grayson walks your children back to Zaun.”

Vander deflated. That might upset things—especially the working relationship he had with Grayson. Councilor Kiramman certainly didn’t know about that. The Lanes seeing his kids brought home by the Sheriff might raise questions that they’d undoubtedly be drilled about in his absence. He didn’t need the balance getting upset right now. 

Vander shook his head, “Can’t do it.”

“Understood.” Cassandra let it go. He was talking to a Councilor right now—something he and Silco had spent years trying to do.

Just took my daughter getting blown up in your apartment.

He clenched his fists and swallowed the rage again.

“Second option is that…” Cassandra paused before she said it, breaking her intense eye contact, “We move Vi to Cait’s room and we keep an eye on both of them until you get back. They’ll have a curtain, so she’ll have privacy I’ll make sure of it.”

“Who’s ‘we’?” He pressed.

“My husband and I. And Petunia, the one you met a few minutes ago. She’ll probably be asleep the whole time if they’re giving her what they’re giving Cait.”

“Another option?” He asked.

“Don’t have one right now. Could send another one of my staff members to walk them home.”

People in Zaun gossiped way too much for that, as did the rag tabloids.

Vander couldn’t afford his sudden, strange connection with the Kiramman house to be gossiped all over the Lanes when his kids were with Sevika.

“You’ll keep an eye on her?” It felt too vulnerable to be asking a Councilor of all people.

The boys and Powder were going to have strong opinions about this on the way home, he was sure. But, where safer in Piltover than as a ward of a Councilor?

Vander didn’t have another option.

“Promise.” She answered, “And I’ll make sure security knows you’re coming back.”

I know that Cory would be the one to suggest the Seven/MC duet because she ain't ever done a nice thing in her life and let me tell you my MC isn't doing that sober

They'll be as drunk as Seven (hopefully) is, and no one's cheering in the crowd but they still end up enraptured by how flawless these two are playing, like they never separated at all.

And then after the song ends they're still sitting there then they start drunk confessing everything.

I don't know about Seven but my MC is drinks away from confessing not only do they not want to be in BOTB but if Seven had just asked MC would've left the band as well

Unrelated but I also fully believe the song MC has been working on in the story (mentioned in C1 and C3 twice) will eventually be what MC performs about their chosen RO

OOOOH I KNOW NICO WOULD ALSO GET DRUNK AF BEFORE THAT, or high….. who knows

If I remember correctly seven doesn’t drink anymore so she would just look at the mess the mc is….

They split in good terms tho that’s why Grayson is mentoring cait to. They are def still friends….

Idk, I love angst but giving them an angsty ending and then having Cassandra end up with a man leaves a bad taste in my mouth so I prefer if they just have a friendly break up.

Cassandra def blames Grayson for cait wanting to be an enforcer tho. Grayson be getting an earful every other week.

Hey, I just wanted to say that I absolutely love your soulmate au! And after seeing the stuff abt Cait taking longer to wake up, I went into a rabbit hole about comas on @scriptmedic and I think it's possible that the girls would be put into a medically-induced coma due to their injuries(?) And if Caitlyn had a lower pain tolerance they might keep her under for longer. But anyway, I’m not a professional, that's just my theory on the whole ordeal. Love your work <3333
