Getting a cinnamon roll boyfriend certainly wasn’t anything Taeko expected, but she still loved you all the same. Especially since she can enjoy the best of both worlds: your sunshine personality while being dressed as her butler.

She loves to tease you. You’re a little too trusting of people, especially her. Pulling jokes at your expense, tricking you into saying things you normally wouldn’t, or just bold face lying to you. She doesn’t mean ill intent by any of it. Just harmless fun.

You definitely help her public image. People will think the Queen of Liars has gone soft with such a sweetheart for a boyfriend. They lower their guard, and before they know it, she’s one step closer to retirement.

Kyoko loves that you’re an open book. She feels bad about being so secretive, you being her boyfriend after all. But there are too many people out there who see her as an enemy, so she hopes you’ll understand; with a world full of so many dark secrets, you’re a breath of fresh air.

However, as sweet as you are, Kyoko isn’t the safest partner to have with her profession as a detective. She wants you to be able to defend yourself. Or at least be smart enough to get out of a dangerous situation safely.

As for romance…it’s not her strongest suit. She’s pretty awkward about it, especially with a social butterfly boyfriend that has no problem with any PDA. Kyoko will get used to it eventually, just as soon as her heart calms down.

A Pile Of Canon Divergent Danganronpa Headcanons:

The students absolutely did not get along when they first enrolled, they were all legit getting on each others' nerves and every other day was a shouting match.

Byakuya doesn't mind Ultimate Impostor's presence most of the time, but there have been times when he was seriously creeped out by Impostor.

After they adopted Kotoko, Hifumi collected all his loli/shotacon and invited Kotoko to help him burn it. Seeing the damage adults did to Kotoko has him rethinking his tastes in manga altogether.

If Kiyotaka catches anyone running in the halls he will drag them to that person's starting point and make them walk back to their destination.

When Gonta inevitably found out that Hiyoko liked squishing ants, he sat her in front of the biggest anthill he could find and unloaded ant facts on her. This bored the habit right out of Hiyoko.

Everyone has accidentally locked themselves out of the school at least once.

Over time, everyone noticed that Mikan was tripping over less and less. Though she attributes it to learning balance from Sakura, she subconsciously knows it's because she doesn't need the attention anymore.

Mikan wants to cure Nagito's terminal illnesses, but fears that Nagito's luck would kill him if she does so.

Mikan cares deeply for the Warriors of Hope, and is a key player in their rehabilitation.

The virtual Jabberwock Island from Danganronpa S is still there...but the students actually built it to get away from their oppressive dickhead superiors that they hate. It has the 50 day summer camp mode for all of them, or a solo mode for anyone to set a specific amount of time within the virtual world to unwind.

[Very slowly lays hand on Masaru's head as to not trigger his trauma of being slapped] This boy can fit so many cuddles and kisses.

Jataro won't just let you hug him, the little mf will let you s q u i s h him into your body with all your love and might. As long as he can still breathe he will be happy and let you hold him.

Kirumi cracks pretty easy under stress. She doesn't lash out at everyone so much as she curls up against the nearest wall and rocks herself.

Don't ask Kirumi to reenact Jackass with you, or she will absolutely overcomplicate the assignment and seriously injure herself. She does not comprehend physical comedy, much less the line where physical comedy becomes everyone around her fearing for her life.

Ryota straight up lives in the walls along with the balding Monokuma from V3. Junko and Ultimate Impostor are the only ones who know, but neither of them have been successful at getting Ryota out of his shell.

Korekiyo has been given an intervention by all the girls at Hope's Peak. It ended with eight hours of group hugging. Korekiyo is feeling better now.

Korekiyo and Kirumi have routinely fought over the air conditioning.

Masaru will bite anyone at least once, but for reasons only known to himself, he likes biting clowns the most. He will hunt down any clown that appears in his field of vision and not stop until he gets a bite.

If Gonta finds any insect traps or insecticides, he throws them down the garbage chute.

Hajime is still Izuru, but it's an open secret. His classmates love him no matter what his identity is. <3

Reserve Course students weren't so chill about Izuru, however-they wanted Jin Kirigiri's BLOOD. And the Ultimates just kinda let them do it for treating their friend as a lab rat.

One winter when the heater broke everyone slept together in the gym until it was fixed. We're talking a pile of blankets that was three feet thick.

They legit would not trade each other for the world except for Kokichi and even then Suichi would still be sad about it

Mahiru doesn't like taking pictures of Ryoma because his weirdly large eyes reflect all the light and the result always looks terrifying.

Someone kept leaving a stuffed toy clown in random places around the school...until they adopted Masaru and he promptly bit the shit out of it.

Ibuki tried playing from the rooftop once. It took 8 hours to find her, 4 hours to coax her down, and 2 hours to soothe her afterwards.

Nanokumas like to move things around when nobody's looking.

All Ultimates are prone to getting the zoomies. It ranges from Leon running around in circles to Sakura almost leveling the school.

Reserve Course students like to observe the Ultimates because Ultimates are all stupid fucking dorks and watching them accidentally stir up chaos is great entertainment.

Hope Fragments appear when a student feels their happiest. It forms within the body and gets hacked up like a hairball.

Gonta routinely has nightmares about being caught in a venus flytrap.

Fuyuhiko has become aware of Yasuhiro's debt to his family, and holds it over his head.

Peko wonders if her parents know about her becoming an Ultimate.

Junko is trying really, really hard to feign apathy towards her classmates in the name of Despair, but no one buys it.

Mukuro and Peko like to spar together, and they're pretty evenly matched.

Miu is soft (by Miu standards) towards Chihiro.

Miu becomes very anxious and needy at the mere thought of graduating from Hope's Peak and moving away from her friends.

i'm curious, what HCs do you have for which Remnant took which part of Enoshima?

The thing is I’m not sure I have any very unique head canons on that front. I mean there’s the three that most people seem to agree on, that being Nagito with the hand, Mikan with the womb, and Fuyuhiko taking the eye.

I might have said it before but I do think the most interesting one of those three is by far Fuyuhiko. Cause like Mikan and Nagito make sense, they’re the ones we get to see be remnant-y the most and grafting Junko onto themselves checks out with how they act, but Fuyuhiko? I don’t think he does anything in the game that would indicate he’d willingly rip his own eye out to replace it with a dead girls.

But the fact that he did (allegedly at least) gives a really interesting look into how despair affected him specifically. It’s really the only bit of insight we get with Fuyuhiko since the brief scene we get of the remnants out and about at the end of despair arc just has him leading some soldiers against the Future Foundation. So we know he took control of the Kuzuryu clan, and that he still works with Peko since she’s there too, but that’s kinda it. So figuring out how the eye thing fits into that is really neat.

But as far as headcanons for the others go, I do think that if Fuyuhiko got something then Sonia and Imposter would feel like they deserved something too. I don’t think either of them could really graft a whole body part though, Imposter still needs to be able to become anyone else at the drop of a hat so having to be ‘Togami but also he has a girls hand haha don’t worry about it’ wouldn’t really work. And with Sonia I always see it as she keeps herself a level above everyone else, like most people are dirty and sick and scrounging around just to stay alive but then here’s this glittering image of unflappable royalty to juxtapose that. It makes Sonia seem more reverent but also makes everyone else seem worse, so I don’t think she could afford to blemish that unmared image.

That being said, I could definitely see Sonia using some of Junko’s bones to fashion a crown or some other kind of jewelry, that way she’d still have a symbol of Junko without compromising her status. Imposter I’m not sure about, but maybe their despair would come from being the only one of the remnants political powerhouses that didn’t get anything.

Mikan refuses to use the word "beloved" post-canon.

She opts for something equally endearing, but absolutely rejects the phrase "my beloved", or "beloved" when referring to Hajime. She wants to completely separate Junko's manipulation and cruelty from Hajime's genuine care and love. So, it takes her a while, but she eventually settles on "my love" as her favorite term because it's just as beautiful and she wants Hinata to know how much he means to her.

Can you imagine being in Hajime's shoes? I know he'd be a blushy mess after hearing her say that.

Hajime Hinata - Words of Affirmation

No matter your Ultimate, no matter your gender identity, no matter your personality, Hajime is open with how much he likes you. He adores you and isn't afraid to show it. At the start he was much more awkward but slowly opened up and got more confident. Now, he won't be doing these drastic public displays of affection or anything, that isn't his deal. But he will hold hands and openly refer to you as his partner. Hajime sees no need to hide or deny your relationship, if people don't like it that's their problem. The most obvious way he shows his affection is his words, being incredibly direct and honest. He shows a ton of respect for your Ultimate no matter what it is. Hajime loves to ask you questions about it and learn about your life

Akane Owari - Physical Touch

Akane, as we know, had a tough life growing up. Besides her clear desperation for food, she also had a tough time being sexualized. Most men just kinda saw her as a hot piece of meat and treated her like shit. So when you asked her out, she just kinda assumed you wanted to fuck her, and offered herself. When you quickly shut that down and told her you wanted to be in a genuine relationship, she kinda froze up. It was an odd feeling, but it was almost relieving to her. Throughout the relationship she felt more and more comfortable touching you. She knew you wouldn't take advantage of her, and thus appreciated it when you hugged and kissed her. It could get aggressive at times if she was in a hyper mood but she really enjoys just some wholesome times. Cuddling is a must for her, especially after big meals. Just laying down and falling into a food coma together is pure bliss

Byakuya Twogami - Words of Affirmation

When you got together Twogami kept their sort of Byakuya impression and tried to be aloof, but it was clear that wasn't their real personality. They constantly compliment you and openly shows their affection. At least when they are in a disguise. When you eventually managed to make them take down the facade, they really softened more and you got to see them for who they are. Imposter is soft spoken and much more bashful than you expected. Instead of being confident, when they compliment you like this, they have a much harder time getting the words out. Imposter doesn't see themself as someone with any identity, so seeing how unique you are gives them inspiration and admiration for you. It may be hard for them to say, but you will definitely hear it

Chiaki Nanami - Quality Time

Chiaki is a simple girl, she likes to take life as it comes and just kinda go with the flow. And she appreciates a partner that can do the same. She doesn't really like going on dates, they just aren't her scene. She'd honestly rather stay home eating snacks and playing video games with you. To be honest, Chiaki just likes being with you in general. It doesn't have to be a big deal, often you guys will just cuddle and relax or play games together. Even if you don't feel like talking Chiaki is happy to just be with you in comfortable silence. Since she tends to be sleepy throughout the day, she often will end up falling asleep at your place. If you decide to lay down with her, when she wakes up and notices you, she'll smile lovingly and give you a quick cheek kiss (before falling right back asleep)

Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu - Quality Time

Being a literal mob boss doesn't give you much personal time. Him and Peko are often super busy throughout the day, with Fuyuhiko getting frustrated an apologizing everytime, despite your insistance that it's okay. The days he does have off he likes to spend with you. He isn't really used to being vulnerable and affectionate, so whenever you try to be romantic he will initially push back. Understand it isn't that he doesn't like you, it's just unusual to him, he'll eventually accept the affection and reciprocate. When he is comfortable enough he likes to take you to all kinds of places for date nights. He doesn't care how dumb it is or how he has to make it happen, you want to go to that pickle museum? You are GOING to that pickle museum god dammit! Oh and fun fact. Neither of you know this, but more than half the days Fuyuhiko gets off are actually cause of Peko stepping in. She wants to see her Young Master happy! She has no issues pulling some strings here or there

Gundam Tanaka - Physical Touch

This man lives off of drama and theatrics, do you really think he's gonna hold back in your relationship? Hell nah, you are his dark deity who is destined to rule with him. Anyone who questions will have a curse instantly fall upon them. He is PROUD to let the world know of your relationship and feels no embarrassment! ...Kinda. When he brags in public, 80% of it is all show and overcompensation. He is actually trying to keep his dark lord image up to keep the mortals intimidated. In reality, your relationship makes him weak in the knees. He adores you to his core. Gundam becomes incredibly soft with you and surprisingly bashful. In fact, physical contact is a quick way to turn him into a blushing mess. Everytime you even graze his hand Gundam's heart skips a beat. And when you kiss? Instantly hiding in his scarf afterwards. Jesus christ this girl is a handful. Pretty much from your first interaction she was hostile and condesending. But strangly you both ended up in a relationship somehow, with no complaints on either side. After you started showing more kindness and helped her, she saw you in a more positive light. You weren't as useless or untrustworthy as she thought. Hiyoko still lowkey bullies and teases you, but it's turned more playful and lighthearted. And she's also gotten more physically affectionate, openly clinging to you and leading you by the hand all over the place. She pretty much hangs by you as much as possible, and can get pretty protective. Not to mention really jealous whenever anyone tries to sweet talk you

Ibuki Mioda - Physical Touch

BRUH, this is I-BU-KI MI-O-DA! She is all OVER you 24/7! Pretty much every time she sees you she tackles you with a hug. She adores hugging you and holding hands and jumping into your arms etc etc etc. Sometimes you'll have to use a crowbar to pry her off of you. And don't get me started on the kisses. Ibuki is a kiss machine and loves to just pepper your face with kisses. You're just so damn cute, she can't help herself! It doesn't matter where you are, you gonna get smooched. Funnily enough, when you reciprocate she gets kinda bashful somehow. Ibuki tends to blush hard and stammer, giggling like crazy. Just expect a lot of affection in this relationship

Kazuichi Souda - Words of Affirmation

You saw how he was with Sonia. When he met and fell in love with you he fell HARD. And the fact that you actually gave him the time of day and even liked him back??? He is gonna worship the ground you stand on. Kazuichi adores everything about you and lets you know it everyday. How cute you are, how funny you are, how smart you are, in his eyes you are near perfect. Even when you get into arguments he doesn't stay mad long and tends to apologize first. Mahiru does it out of love rather than obligation. But she doesn't see her deeds as romantic really, instead she loves to give you gifts that memorialize moments in your relationship. The moment you met, your first date, for your one year anniversary she even made a collage of pictures taken on every date you've been on! For the longest time she was hiding a secret, but one day when you were feeling very depressed she revealed it. Mahiru had been keeping a photo album of pictures of you smiling. Some you knew of and remembered, but some of them were secret shots she took when you were distracted. She apologized if it was creepy, but to you it was sweet. Whenever you get self-conscious or sad she loves to bring it out and remind you of the good times you've had together

Mikan is a girl of little self-respect. Years of bullying, abuse, and sexual harassment has really broken her emotionally. So when you asked her out she thought it was a prank. After being reassured she then got the idea that you just wanted her body. It took a long time for her to understand your true intentions, but when she did it all changed. Throughout your relationship she is greatful for your kindness and support, and wants to do the same for you. Being one of the best nurse's in Japan means Mikan can treat you for almost anything. Let's get this straight, he considers himself to be pure garbage, and you to be a ray of hope (uh oh). Nagito always wonders why you ever got together with him, let alone loved him. He feels incredibly inferior. Whenever you do anything nice for him he is eternally grateful and thanks you profusely. Nothing you do will ever be taken for granted. He is also very open about how highly he thinks of you, so when you start to feel self-doubt he is quick to shoot that down. Sonia is a sweetie, let me tell you. She knows about relationships and has been in a few, but somehow it's still very foreign to her. To be fair though they were not ideal relationships. A lot of them were just potential princes that wanted power, not love. Thankfully she got out of those quickly, and with you it was so refreshing how healthy it was! You don't nitpick her when she says a phrase wrong or mock her for misunderstanding certain cultures. Instead when you laugh, she feels the playfulness and laughs with you. Teruteru Hanamura - Acts of Service

We all know he loves some touchy touchy action. It don't matter what parts you got or your body type, he is IN 10000%. He makes it clear by constantly flirting with you and trying to initate any sort of sexual activites (it's fun to see him sulk when you turn him down). But strangely enough, Teruteru actually shows love by cooking for you. Yeah, your hot bod is a big bonus. But that smile on your face when you taste his food? Absolutely priceless. He loves to cook all your meals, and often uses his Mom's special recipes. When one day you asked him to teach you how to cook, his heart soared. He immedietly gave you an apron and pulled out a recipe book so you could choose one to try. Never worry if you make mistakes or completely fail, Teruteru doesn't mind! You gotta start somewhere, and as long as you use the ingredients you have and don't purposly waste them it's all good. But know that even though he doesn't get angry, he will mock you if you're a mess, and can be a little condescending. Just roll with it, he'll eventually humble himself and compliment your efforts

She isn’t called the Ultimate Swimming Pro for nothing.

“You’re not nearly out of breath enough yet!! If Sakura was here she’d say we should keep going but…”

She smiles brightly.

“I don’t wanna kill you or anything- swimming can be really tough, or so my brother tells me. So instead!”

She claps happily, eyes sparkling mischievously. 

“Are you ticklish? I can just tickle you instead so you get a bit more out of our workout!”

You try to stammer in rejection but Hina isn’t gonna have it, sorry lol. 

A quick tickler, she likes to jump between spots and you’re so worn out you can barely even keep up, let alone fight back or retaliate. 

All you can do is laugh and squirm a little, so you do. 

“Wow! This is definitely working! Listen to how loud you are~”

She means well, I swear! 

Her aftercare is godtier too, will totally give you a non-ticklish massage to make up for wrecking you so suddenly.

Mikan Tsumiki:

Mikan finds out when tending to a wound you have. This is pure self-indulgence for me but let’s say Nagito’s luck ��backfired” and left you with a small cut on your stomach. Y'all were cooking and he was cutting the vegetables and when he swung his arm out- whoops. Thankfully, you backed up so it was surface level but Mikan is panicking anyway. You didn’t miss the twinkle in Nagito’s eyes as he sent you off and told you to “enjoy yourself”. 

You brushed it off as him being weird as usual but when you got to the hospital with Mikan, and she goes to touch the area around the wound it clicks. 

You curse him under your breath as you look away to hide the grin that breaks across your lips as her gentle touch tickles like Hell. She puts a bandaid over the wound after making sure it’s not in need of more severe treatment but when she pulls down your shirt you totally slip up and squeal before a laugh escapes. 

You were gonna strangle Nagito later. 

Mikan, for her part, smiles sweetly up at you as she stands. 

“I didn’t know you were ticklish! That’s so cute! Can I?”

She asks you flat out, all polite so you just nod in shock. 

She’s careful around your tummy even with how small the wound is and you find out Mikan, of everyone on the island, has a sadistic streak. 

She apologizes profusely after, getting you water and letting you catch your breath but damn. 

“Your laughter is just so pretty!! I’m sorry, please don’t hate me!”

She quickly runs out and you’re too tired to pursue. 

…Maybe you won’t kill Nagito after all. Maybe.

Junko Enoshima:

Honestly, I think Junko would put it together before she does it- like Byakuya. 

She’s got the Ultimate Analyst talent after all; she notices the small reactions you have with others and herself.

Oh you caught me on a GREAT day for toxic yuri. I was just reading Kill Me Now this morning so I am just Raring to go about girls in love in ways that are just deeply fucked up and potentially lethal.

We're going noncanon-DR3 for this one, because in the context of Junkan it's just what I prefer. There IS something interesting about Junko taking a very vulnerable young woman craving love and physically removing her agency entirely to string her around a relationship like a beautiful little marionette to love Junko however she wants, and the ways that extreme would speak as a representation of manipulative relationships in general and a peek into what Junko truly wants.

But that's not really my jive beyond its narrative implications. Junko is manipulating Mikan either way, of course. But something I truly love about despair!Mikan in SDR2 is that, when she reveals her colors, she isn't exhibiting the symptoms of an abused young girl the way she did when she wasn't in despair. Despair Mikan is vibrant. She's confident. She's HAPPY, deliriously so, isolated and lashing out and so, so free. She says outright that she doesn't give a shit about despair. She doesn't want to be unhappy. She just wants love. She is so, so in love.

And the implication of this (imo) is that, at some point in their relationship, there's a shift. Junko is reeling Mikan in like a fish on a hook because that's what she does. And at some point, to put it simply - Mikan Chooses to fall into despair. She actively wants what Junko is doing for her. There is a moment, somewhere along the way, where Mikan looks at what she's going to become flat in the face, and goes: Yes. This, too, I will do, for love. And for control.

Because for Mikan, love IS control. The control people had over her, which they exercised so poorly, presumably - in her mind - because that's the love she deserved. The love a nurse has for her patients, because Mikan LOVES the control she has over her patients, loves that they depend on her, loves knowing she could kill them if they crossed her. Would love if she could kill Anyone if they crossed her. Deep down, Mikan craves the ability to continue the cycle of which she is a victim. She wants to hold lives in her hands. She wants to feel the dwindling beat of a dying heart in her palm, ripped from the people who hurt her. She wants blood. She wants vengeance for herself.

She is just waiting for someone to give her permission. Someone to love. Someone to hand over control to, who will use her the way she wants to be used.
