Im the reuploading asker from before! I definitely agree that downloading as saving things is fundamentally important to the preservation of the internet and its content, and its all fair and good to save things personally for sure! My only thing about reuploads is that like, u know ive had my art reuploaded multiple times with credit (and without tbh) before but without my permission on tumblr... Where i posted it originally and got a decent amount of traction so it does just feel like someone else is reaping the benefits (attention, compliments) for my hardwork while i didnt see any of that which is valuable to me (and other artists). Im not really sure where im going with this but yeah! I guess id like to hear ur thoughts

So that's the thing. Someone saving art to their personal computer is all well and good for preservation purposes, but it's not the same as uploading it to a site like danbooru where many other people can also download it. Now it's on dozens or more people's hard drives, making it much more likely to survive into the future.

But putting aside the media preservation aspect of all this, I have encountered this viewpoint you're stating before. Basically that reposting is robbing the artist of engagement, which like, I have a number of issues with. I understand wanting to post something you worked on, and have people like it and interacting with it a bunch. Having something you made get tons of likes and positive comments is really affirming these days, it's a big way people interact. In the past I might have scoffed at this notion, but it's just a fact of the internet we all socialize on. We all want to see the number go up.

And like I said in the last answer, I do prefer to reblog art directly from artists on here. There's no need to make my own post, and I like keeping the artist's original commentary! I always provide sources and try not to reblog unsourced art, or provide the source myself.

All that being said, I don't think there is a real solution to this issue that doesn't involved extremely draconian TOS agreements that would make tumblr and twitter even more awful. I think any potential downsides of people being able to post other peoples art are outweighed by the benefits of being able to exchange files pretty freely on the internet!!

People who exercise regularly always show up. Like Minho is everywhere. He probably does ab workouts in his sleep and showers while flexing his abs and when he picks up stuff he picks them up in a squat position. I think it's really cool that people can exercise routinely like that. I would rather live without abs and be able to eat whatever i want. During the concert i should show you my abs~ 6v6 shooting content with minho hyung would be fun. there's two types of people who exercise: those who enjoy working out, and those who whine and complain. i'm the second type 6v6. cr.

Taemin: Minho hyung must work out even sleeping n even taking a shower 😆 he has such healthy hobbies so cool~ but shall we just have drinks? let's give up let's eat what we want this life~! there are 2 types of people one working out happily the other doing it whining i'm the latter cr.

I know how hard the SM staff works, so I don't want to talk bad about SM. But there are times when I don't understand the decisions made by (upper management). even if I were to have an ordinary job, I'd be bound to have some sort of complaints. cr.

Everyone is working hard to make something great. "Euisoo hyung make lots of money" I think our company's salary isn't that high. But everyone works with so much passion. It's a company where you make little money but you work a lot. and i know how hard our fans support us. Everyone always talks about how shinee/taemin fans are so amazing and beautiful! Some people enter the company and run away because the reality didn't match their expectations. So the people who stay behind work hard. The company is expanding but there's no money, so i don't understand how it's getting bigger LOL What I want to say is everyone is working hard, so please know that. I'm a switch/verse shipper but I do notice how some verse shippers have been using verse as a moral high ground. For me, in the anime community, it's been used as an anti-fujo or anti-seme/uke rhetoric. But tagging is a different case. It depends on the fandom culture and I never expected the majority of the English-speaking sites like Ao3 to tag T/B, tbh. I wish, but I'm not so uppity about it.

I agree, though. I'm a verse shipper but even I know there tend to be leanings (to verse shippers it's more a spectrum instead of a rigid binary option). Just that most verse shippers don't mind moving the scale. There are, but not many, who actively switch the ships and try out different dynamics. They are usually smut or PWP writers but generally people write stories with plot and have only one or a few sex scenes nestled in between.

The seme/uke hate is ironic since some people will still use the classic domtop-subbottom dynamic, they will just argue that character A is not a subbottom like "what most people HC", but character B instead, followed by saying how it's better and progressive (esp if the alleged status quo of the "bottom" was a character with shorter, smaller, or feminine features). The whole, "I'm different and better" attitude irks me. You like a dynamic, so what? No one's interpretation is better than the other. We're all fans of the same characters.

Ao3 is dominated by short and smutty fics, so I get the frustration. I also wish people would tag better but it depends on the general understanding of T/B in your fandom.

I always tag my T/B but I've uploaded a PWP with no tag because it has no anal. Since I majorly write MLM, I BARELY tag who's the dom and who's the sub unless it's for peculiar dynamics like "power bottom [A]", "bratty bottom [B]" or "stone top [C]" and even then, it's only for very obvious D/S and I don't really write BDSM.

I know my leanings, I know my preferences, but I still think my readers will have to understand how I characterize them by reading the story themselves. Because a character has lots of nuance. A character who I often write as a bottom might act more dominant and jagged, very masculine sometimes, but I'm not against feminine or submissive bottoms and I have ships with both character types. Most characters in my ships have both feminine and masculine traits, a lot are GNC or enby-coded to me, and they have various roles and traits that makes it hard to box them into two or four categories. It all depends on my relationship with canon.

I usually use canon proof, like their backstory or confirmed character trait by the creator, to write but I have a ship where I reject canon because the writing sucked and I prefer how other fan authors wrote it. Fan to canon relationships are very determental.

I know Bucky and though I've never encountered that side of the fandom (maybe because I don't ship stucky), I can imagine what you are experiencing. I know he is really pretty and pretty characters tend to bottom more. Steve is also handsome but I know people tend to profile through facial features first before diving into personality. Next, most people love to woobify a difficult and traumatized character. Some woobification turns to feminization even though there is no canon proof Bucky has a feminine side, at least not as far as I know (I'm not deep into Marvel). There's also the fact that a lot of people project their own IRL experience and personal preference in their ships. Maybe they relate to Bucky and want to imagine themselves as Bucky getting rammed by Steve and basing Bucky's personality from themselves. No harm in that, I too use my irl experiences as fic reference almost all the time, I just have to know when to separate myself from the character.

I'm not surprised if some people don't realize or won't admit they are writing OOC!Bucky or Fanon!Bucky because there are so many who are used to fanon interpretation or even rejected some canon interpretations.

Between getting fed canon content once or twice every few months vs reading 3-5 stucky fics every day almost 24hrs, do you think some people won't get used to fanon versions more? It's usually this case.

I personally like Canon!Bucky just fine so I obviously only want to read Bucky with that flavor but lately I haven't been reading much. So if I encounter a fic that's slightly different, I'll get so bamboozled and my brain will be like, "since when??" even though that fic has been there for a few years.

If there are more stucky fics you don't like, I suggest writing for yourself instead of asking other fans to change, unless they want to.

I started this like a week before my birthday(a lil gift for myself), cause I had this really fun idea to see just how far I could go with everything animatic-wise.. An I was even going to use my own voice which terrified me but I was pretty dead set on it.

Then this project just became a stressor, it may have been the added stress of my birthday and the fact that I wasn't making ANY content besides this too. But it really became something I was not having fun in, and well it is ~2 weeks past my birthday now…and it's still not done.

I'm only uploading it cause I'm just tired, and the lore for RF!Wally updated so no toe beans I guess? Im not going back through and nitpicking tbh ^^; I figure something is better than nothing. An RF is slowly no longer becoming a comfort atm(he might come back idk rn), so..back to Mob Wally lol.

Yeah...i kinda have noticed that too, even without having to do tarot readings😅 there's not really anyone i would say that rubs me the wrong way but there are definitely members i don't think i would really vibe with, and also ones i think i would even be beefing with if we knew each other. For example i don't think i could vibe with hyunjin at all if we were to meet. I love him on the screen tho. And i don't think i would really vibe with felix either, or at least wouldn't let myself to cuz i feel he might pull me into some toxic energies. He has a very interesting and unusual energy and persona, tbh he gives me energy vibes. I don't think he's THAT negatively impacted by himself, but i think it wouldn't be good for me to be around him for a long time and have some sort of a deeper connection to him. Last day of rest, today there would have technically been class, but I decided to skip and get one more day of rest. The professor uploads the recordings of the lectures, so I won't have any issues. I repressed my will to plan and think about studying for one more day, and starting from tomorrow I will figure out a new routine to fit this second half of the semester. Today before going to my therapist I went to the bookstore to look for a book that I did not find, and so I got Juliet Marillier's Daughter Of The Forest, which is a fantasy novel set in medieval Ireland inspired both by celtic mythology and one of Grimm's fairytales. I don't know much about this book, only when I got home I realized this is part of a series (I am going into this as if it were a stand alone, I don't have enough energies to be thinking about a new series tbh). The Irish setting and the mythology inspo was enough for me to pick this up. I also thought it might fuel me to do a bit more in terms of my Irish studies, so we'll see.

Productivity and self care:

So, I have written 5,495 words this week, which isnt a whole lot, but ut has made me hit my 50,000 word goal this month so WHOOP!!! Im at 51,505 words for November at the moment. I also finished another 2 wips, so of my 63 wips, I have finished 11 and im feeling pretty proud tbh.

Summary: When he is four, Jaskier escapes out his window to avoid a boring family dinner where his cousin was getting betrothed to someone. He just wanted to hear the frogs. Frogs sound neat.

That daring escape, and the rescue that it required changed his whole fate, because he was the one who ended up betrothed to a witcher - the plan to marry when he was 20. He didn't really care he got to hear the frogs croak, what did he care about this Geralt of Rivia?

As he grows up though, he ends up caring a great deal.

Scenes from Jaskier's life of meeting every witcher but his betrothed, until one day in a shitty tavern, he finally meets Geralt.

Summary: Supper secured and stuffed away in his trousers, he looks up to find the silver-haired stranger in the corner, the one person who hadn’t heckled him. The man is objectively gorgeous, with fascinating hair and a body that makes Jaskier’s mouth water a little.

Oh yes, he decides quickly, he will be climbing this stranger like a tree.

He’s a little wrong-footed when he works out that the stranger is a witcher with big scary swords Jaskier’s heard horror stories about, but after a quick moment of thought, he also thinks about how very many things the fae elders have been wrong about all his life and decides to ignore them once again. The witcher–Geralt of supposedly Rivia, even though Jaskier can tell from his accent that that’s a lie–tries to get rid of him, but Jaskier is nothing if he’s not determined, and he’s simply too damn interested to get scared off easily.

The witcher has clearly not realized that Jaskier is something to be hunted, and Jaskier, well, he’s never excelled at silly things like self-preservation.

DevLog 02: I'd Rather Be Writing CSS

Hello again! This month's DevLog post is going to be a lot of fun. I'm going to talk a little about my endeavors with Neocities, writing code, and working with old-school web interaction.

I also wanted to make a note that I'm totally cool with folks reblogging and liking these posts, and you're welcome to snag the rss feed for this tag if you'd like to keep up with it but don't particularly feel like wading through everything else I drop here.

Without further ado--

Lately I've been working on a side project to help a friend out; their Neocities, is--like mine--going to be a place to host a ton of centralized information so they can just hand site links out rather than having to link a whole array of webpages to people in order to share certain stuff. (I totally recommend people do this, btw. Super useful, AND you get to learn html/css, which is great on a site like Tumblr, where you can employ that knowledge and skillset elsewhere!)

Thing is, when I started this, I'd been... a touch rusty on things like... you know, the basics, building from a blank space up into a proper site. One of my problems was accidentally adding a period before the 'body' stylization code in the css document, which, for those wondering, makes the css read it as a 'div' or 'span' tag, rather than a core component of the site. Rookie mistake, but I did manage to figure it out... by making links turn orange on hover!

How, you may ask? It confirmed that the style from the css was successfully applying to the barebones html I'd already written, and gave me a better idea of what exactly was going wrong. Never discount the odd ways of troubleshooting, tbh.

I've also made a huge leap of progress on my own site, specifically the gallery pages, though they are DEFINITELY still works in progress, namely in layout. I've had to expand my understanding a litle and read up on stuff like flex boxes, which I might expand on and cover in my next DevLog as I make more progress.

I also started sketching some ideas with a friend out for a sort of idle colony sim--I don't want to spoil too much, but our shared notes are preeetty exciting so far!

On the topic of games, Garry's Mod is kind of a wreck on linux. I managed to get it going fine with Proton 9.x, which is hilarious--it straight up does not run anymore on the native build. No idea what got broken, but it sure is Something to behold, hah. I have been wading through my subscribed items, trying to update some of the tools and utilities. One of these days I'll get my shit figured out and upload a UT99 playstation-port Xan... I already have a lot of plans for such a thing, of course.

I have been honing my skills with blender, especially rigging, which has been interesting. I definitely GET it, it's just a matter of synthesizing and memorizing parts of the control scheme and especially how to fiddle with things like shapekeys. The perk of ragdoll stuff is you don't need a ton of picky shit... phew! Getting ahead of myself a bit there.

This month has been super busy, and I've been a bit scatterbrained, but here's to another month of progress, eh?
