If I have to see one more post hating on Tashi for cheating on Art, while claiming Patrick would’ve been the better option for him, I’m gonna lose it.

It takes two people to cheat on someone and Patrick was well aware of Tashi and Art‘s relationship. You can’t say Patrick did what he did (sleep with Tashi) out of love for Art. That’s stupid and untrue. I’m not denying that Patrick loved Art (romantically and platonically) but he also loved Tashi.

Excluding the main character that is female and black to only ship the two white boys is not the revolutionary and forward thinking take some of you people think it is.

(Also, Tashi didn’t only love tennis. She’s a human being capable of loving more than one thing or person. This also goes for Patrick and Art. „Patrick loves Art. Art loves Tashi. Tashi loves tennis.“ is the most boring and surface-level reading of the movie. Stripping a woman of her emotions does not make her three dimensional. It makes her a flat character even if she’s focused on her „career“ rather than „a man“.)

Okay, this is why I think Jacob has ADHD (along with an anxiety disorder):

- He’s moving and squirming almost constantly. He’s calmed down a little as he’s seemed to get less anxious (and, given the events of Breakup, maybe also just more exhausted), but he still moves a lot and seems to need a lot of stimulation.

- His chattiness and occasional pressured speech, not to mention the way he sometimes speaks without even seeming to know what he’s going to say. He REALLY has a tendency to blurt things out.

- His wide-ranging topics of conversation and how he can switch topics very quickly but still expound upon them at length. His brain just seems to jump around a lot and he can derail pretty easily. I’m thinking of, say, the way that he starts talking about One Punch Man before catching on to the fact that his student is talking about something else he should care about more in Attack Ad.

But then his brain can also stick to one thing and proceed to jump to another just as quickly, like in “Ava vs. Superintendent” in season one when the camera comes in to him in the break room talking to the room at large about My Octopus Teacher…and then he finishes what seems to have been a full review no one was listening to, immediately hops off the counter, and correctly infers that Barbara and Melissa are in a fight.

(I like that this sticks around, because recently Ava mentioned that he talks about shows he watches at length.)

- Jacob also has difficulty with emotional regulation. Once you see it you can’t unsee it. The man’s mood changes on a dime.

- He does also just…get distracted sometimes and forget things/do thoughtless things in response, like when he admits that buying two of the same condiment was a genuine mistake each and every time (which does not seem to be a lie considering that he keeps digging himself deeper anyway), or in Principal’s Office where he takes a sip of Gregory’s coffee without thinking.

I mightve complained about this somewheree else before ? but i was originally planning on writing a one shot where rui and tsukasa cuddle during a sleepover ?? something like that because theyre both still awake but eventually tossed that over to the ideas for art/doodles pile because I cannot imagine it happening at all.

Like of course i can handle ships and all that romantic stuff with my favorite characters it can be really cute but i Hate writing anything with a romantic context so much. Especially when it comes to ruikasa simply due to the fact that i dont like most ways theyre portrayed in romantic relationships and my brain goes No.. No. Needs more funny oddball moments in this. Don’t dip into that corny stuff or you’ll look like one of Those ruikasa fans that doesn’t get them. Even if its not that bad. with aus like set in Entirely different worlds i can be a bit more free but if its based off of them in the canon universe (sorta) i get reaaally picky. i can let go of other people messing up sometimes because we’re just humans but if i got anyone in wxs really wrong id pack my bags. idm any criticism as long as people arent acting vicious and obnoxious but if i try and correct my own mistakes.. 🤕

is part of this also because romance almost never crosses my mind during my free time? absolutely. (exceptions are when my friends need someone to open up to while in relationships. i dont know how good my advice is but supposedly its helped) I could care less if it stays that way. Friendship is a powerful thing. this is always good when it comes to wxs though because its like Hell yes I dont have to overthink about what theyd be like in romantic relationships (i overthink about everything else with them though) and I Love Friendship Lalala Buuut if i ever get ideas for fics that are romantic and just want to have fun for once it gets scary real fast.

I literally had a nightmare the other night about genocidal pro Israel propaganda. I had a dream that I was looking at a poster with close up black and white photos of Palestinian babies and there were captions describing them as beasts who need to be destroyed and stuff. And if that’s how this terror seeps into my subconscious as a Jewish person living in the USA I can only imagine how it feels to be a person who is more directly impacted by it— from the Palestinian diasporic community around me to the people living in terror in Gaza right now. Even beyond the people who have been killed and who will be killed after I write this, there is the generational trauma that will persist for lifetimes afterwards— something we are intimately acquainted with as Jewish people. It is so depressing, so heartbreaking to see the same people who have chanted “Never Again” enact the same intentional destruction on another people. It is enough to damage my regard for my own people. But I know that there are many like me, even within Israel where we’ve now seen they are forbidden from dissenting.

I mean… as the days tick by without a ceasefire it feels more and more absurd to say this and yet I still feel it: in spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart.
