Midwest Winter

Seraphics, An amorist from frost’s first breath 'til the last thaw Hands outstretched like bare branches  A blessing wrapped in winter’s relentless chill A self-annihilating curse Where snow drifts carry ever whisper that one warmth Yet bury paths beneath the weight Heart too heavy to hold Yet too risky to lose  A name God given He could only judge  So why all the lacrimal fluid?  Perhaps it is the curse of the amorist To feel the world too keenly To embrace both its beauty and its ache To pour oneself out like snow melting Only to freeze again come winter’s call Somehow the winter didn’t cause depression It caused a sense of self decompression No repression, full of progression Unusual, because winter is known for seasonal depression  Once that winter begins to defrost Will it recollect everything that was once lost only to be found in that moment of warmth Desiring…  A Forever December A Sanguine January A Perpetual February A Resplendent March But spring lasts for only for a moment Then summer heat comes free and glows Seraphics couldn’t wait to see Sunshine Atlas of the change in circumstance Now there’s comfort and stillness in the clouds and snow We all know midwest winters last longer A bit stronger, a bit more reluctant to let go So she’ll hold onto to winter a bit longer than she would Spinning under winter’s pale moonlight Through the flurries of melodies that shaped our youthful years Longed to bring you to the circle Where love reflects in every gaze To let them see the light in you The way it glows, the way it lingers Their eyes would glisten, soft and true As they do when they look at her But this time, for you, The mirror of the love she sees. Cause what would of been beared Would of been the sweetest of fruits The tree of knowledge and power Smallest fall away from God, led to a  Man who lusted for something so unreachable Who swore by fidelity and possession Ever ruined something or someone who Lived for you, who unconditionally loved you  Guilted scheme Pseudo life Meaningless casualties  Telescopic of glint and gleam  An Arsonist’s match Lit up everything good in vain Reflected from those whiskey eyes Flames and embers of an old familiar place Surrounded in pain and heat strokes Every house Arsonist will ever build Is fated to fall beneath its own flame A big relief due to the absence But snapbacks of relapses What is missing is what truly existed  To take away was the gravest error Find another prettier pseudo supplement With a more anemic taste  The saturation is leaving your place The saturation is finally coming back to her face Maybe to rediscover what was once lost Will be found again within the scribes of stories and familiar sweet faces Remembering the pieces fit where it wants to belong A fate that can’t be undone God’s plan was constructed and executed If she feels that warmth once the winter defrosts Will it bring back that old insatiable nostalgia? Beneath all of these observed things A flower just blooming in the winter’s freeze Just yearning for what’s rightfully owed  So Seraphics soak in that winter Lay it to rest, Seraphics Take it easy now, Seraphics Foremost, my sincerest apologies Seraphics.
