MHA chapter 430

Finally the last chapter has arrived and ... Well it's underwhelming at best.

I already knew I wasn't going to like this chapter considering how things went in previous arcs but I just feel underwhelmed and indifferent.

So Izuku loses his quirk and then becomes a quirkless hero. I don't know this seems so.... Underwhelming no that's not the word so bleak, gloomy and sad?!?! I also hate the concept of iron Izuku with a passion!!!

Ochako starts a new quirk counselling campaign. This is good but it took that long?!?! I guess hawks was incompetent

All might and izuku parallels/foils will be forever going and I love that izuku used his analysis skills for the kid and I suppose hori tried to go with everyone can be a hero one way or another because the title of a hero isn't just based on the job heroics but how someone helps and saves people but I think that failed in execution.

I sense a change to momo's costume design. I like it

Wait so even ✨I can't stop twinkling✨ yuuga became a hero?!?! I thought he dropped out of the hero course and went to do something else.

Wait didn't shigaraki say he wanted to destroy everything??!? Shigaraki's goal never actually developed into a proper one where he wanted to destroy society and the aspects that hurt him. Well it kinda of did since he wanted to kill all might/destroy the pillar of society but that wouldn't cure the corruption and all that hurt others and shigaraki so why is Hori using it as a way to make it like shigaraki destroyed and izuku rebuilt?!?!

Kota is going to UA!!! Eri is going to a different high school in general

The leauge got a horrible end and the only thing we do know is that spinner wrote a book, compress is out of prison and read the book and that's it.

Well best thing that came out of this chapter was that

No ships were confirmed!!!

Bakugo didn't become number one and was just eluded to dropping down the ranks for his aggressive behaviour

Izuku managed to beat the fast food worker allegations and became a teacher and a pro hero

I think horikoshi forgot about izukus father but there was no point in seeing a deadbeat like that anyway.

It’s the way I’m so happy that All Might is still alive eight years later😭(I get 50-something isn’t that old, but with his health and injuries from all that hero work, eight more years wasn’t non-existent, but it wasn’t promised either. Then again it’s not promised for anyone. I’m so flippin glad he’s still doing well and going all out for Izuku)

My thoughts on the ending to MHA

So the conclusion to MHA is basically the equivalent of writing a Superman story where he's trying to save a possessed Villain, takes a firm moral stance on not killing when everyone telling him to, sacrifices his powers in a attempt to save him but then that only makes things worse and he then kills him anyways and he's left punished by the story for it, Horikoshi basically wrote a shittier version of Zack Snyder's Superman, and the Toga side of things it's the most bizarre writing because he spends the whole manga not letting any character have a self sacrificing death and talking against the idea multiple times but the only character to get this type of death is the girl who's storyline mainly revolves around dehumanization and not having a place in the world, plus you have Hawks involvement in it and him hyping up Ochako and yet we got nothing from him on it in the epilogue, this is just terrible

So... The end of MHA was garbage. What strikes me most in all of this is the fact that every single person in class 1A except for Deku, Shoto, Bakugou and Ochako are written as a unit, like, they're not individuals, they are the class and that's it. It ends with "this is how we all became the greatest heroes" but... He spends a whole bunch of the story saying he was the number 1 hero at some point in the future and his last phrase implies that everyone is n1, but actually there is a "real" n1 because the ranking system still exists. And if the last chapter were to really emphasize that everyone was morally number ones, why there is no focus whatsoever in the other members of the class? I mean, come on, Hori could've extended the amount of chapters a bit so he could do a better job at that. There's no personality and it doesn't feel like the closure we deserved

Also, Momo is beautiful as always and I'll never forgive the amount of wasted potential she was in this story

so, you might not exactly know me for my love of my hero academia, but here i am writing this post, having the final page of the manga in front of me, sipping water from my mha tea cup and crying

i discovered my hero academia three years ago as a university freshman, and even though the story hasn't been perfect, it has meant so much to me since the first day i engaged with it

i found strength in its quotes, memes i made based on its art kept me motivated and focused on my studies, it held my hand when i lived the worst moments of my life

therefore, it is now tough to say goodbye.

from now on, i won't experience any shivers when i read super-relevant passages to events happening in my life, i won't read new words of encouragement, i won't have a story on which i can practice my curriculum, and that's wonderful, after seeing so many pieces of my favourite media cancelled, but also so very heart-breaking.

it's been three years and damn, izuku midoriya is now two years older than me and has been working as a teacher for several years while also working a side job as a superhero (talk about unattainable standards now), and i'm still here wondering if i can also become a "hero" (more like happily employed person in job i love) and a respected member of society just like him, but i guess i'll figure that out on my own eventually

thank you my hero academia for always being here for me, and thank you kohei horikoshi for writing this awesome and incredibly inspiring story, i will forever treasure it!!!

#honestly i sort of have many feelings about this so i have no idea what i've tried to write here but i felt like i should say public goodbye #if there was a list of formative media i think mha would be placed quite high and today is an important day for the story #now what's left is only the excitement for animated gearshift; the upcoming movie (please be awesome) and my beloved yuki hayashi scores #thank you and goodbye mha #mha #mha 340 #mha spoilers

This. Of course as an Izuku fan I wish he got recognition for his part in saving the whole world (plus his other fights) but this was done for a reason. It’s heartbreaking that Izuku couldn’t be a hero for so many years…and then it’s heartwarming what was done for him…it’s an ending I can get behind. So much left open to work with. All the world to still play with and write about. It’s sad but I feel the hope!

anybody upset with the conclusion of my hero academia specifically, how izuku didn’t attain the glory, fame or fortune don’t understand what horikoshi’s intentions and display of heroism was truly about. Deku is supposed to show the content of what a true hero is supposed to be, and yes!!!! he deserves all the fame and the popularity and merch but it isn’t what he signed up for, it isn’t what he expected when he became a hero and it wasn’t a requirement for that matter. even without all of this recognition izuku stays optimistic and is satisfied with what he contributed into letting Japan see another day!!! which is why it is so important that you don’t miss interpret the story. take what Josh Keatons Spiderman said, as he said it best “if i wanted all the glory i wouldn’t wear a mask” and that is why characters like Spiderman, Superman and now Deku are regarded to be the greatest because the display of hope and indomitable human spirit is admirable. they are a part of society that so easily forgotten, that is shut off, the part that shows you people can do things out of sheer goodness without expecting anything back simply because they want to.
