It had been five years since Sirius went through the veil, and a lot had happened. Harry defeated Voldemort, Peter finally got what he deserved, and the wizarding world was mostly back to normal. Remus had been married, had a child and was a widower within a year. That period of his life was a blur, that came screaming back to reality every time he looked at his three-year-old.

Teddy was incredible. The best parts of him and Tonks combined into a hurricane of a kid. The most important things to Remus were that he was happy, healthy, and hadn’t inherited his lycanthropy. He was, however, showing signs of metamorphagus abilities. His hair cycled through colours when he slept, which had Remus in tears the first time he witnessed it.

Overall, they were happy. They lived in a little cottage near Hogsmeade, and two days a week, Andromeda would take Teddy and Remus would teach the NEWT students Defence Against the Dark Arts. Harry was teaching the younger students, and getting to see him regularly, and see him thriving as an adult, was more than he could ever have hoped for.

Yes, Remus would say that all things considered, things were pretty good.

Until he got an owl from Arthur Weasley asking him to meet him at the Ministry as soon as possible. He dropped Teddy off with Andy, apologising for the short notice, and flooed straight there. He’d been back for the trials of a lot of the remaining Death Eaters, and it still hurt every time he walked into the atrium, remembering the time he’d walked in there with Sirius, and walked out without him.

Arthur met him by the new fountain, mouth drawn in a thin line and his face pale.

“Arthur,” He pulled him into a one-armed hug, “What’s wrong? Are you alright?”

“Come with me.” Arthur headed for the lifts and Remus realised with an impending sense of doom, that they were heading down to The Department of Mysteries.

“What’s going on?” Remus asked as they travelled down. “Arthur?”

Arthur looked at him, “Something happened with the veil today and I— You’re going to need to see it for yourself.”

Remus’ heart was racing, incessantly pounding in his temples and jaw. What could have happened with the veil? Had it released Sirius’ body after all this time? If so, at least he could get a decent funeral with him and Harry there, he supposed morbidly.

As they got to the door, Arthur turned to him, “I’m here for you, Remus. This isn’t going to be easy, mate.”

Remus nodded as they entered the room, he spotted the veil, looking no different, fluttering softly in an imaginary breeze. Taunting him. There was a group of people huddled next to it, and as he got closer he saw what they were huddled around. Or who they were huddled around.

“Moony?” Sirius was half-sprawled on a chair, looking not a day older than the last time they’d been here. He leapt to his feet before quickly, almost involuntarily, sitting back down, clutching his head in one hand. Remus ran to him and sank to his knees. He felt like every ounce of air had been drained from his body.

“Sirius?” He said breathlessly, pushing back the hair that had fallen onto Sirius’ face. “It’s really you?”

Sirius grabbed his hand and clung to it. “It’s really you?” Remus nodded, “It’s been five years?” He nodded again, brushing a tear away with his free hand, “I’m so sorry.”

“What for?” Sirius’ hand cupped his jaw, his thumb brushing away another tear, then another.

“For leaving you again, after I promised not to.” The crowd around them had dissipated. Arthur’s doing, he was sure.

“What happened to you? How are you here?”

Sirius shrugged, “I tumbled back out and I was expecting you all to still be here. It felt like seconds. They said— It’s really been five years?”

“To the day.” Sirius looked devastated. He stood shakily and pulled Remus to his feet before wrapping his arms around him. As Remus sobbed into the crook of his neck, he rubbed circles into his back. “I thought you were dead. We all thought…”

“Sirius, we need to get you to St Mungo's to get you checked over,” Arthur said, from somewhere near the door. “You can chaperone, Remus.” Remus looked over at him, through watery eyes. Arthur was smiling at them. “I’ll send an owl to Harry once we get there.”

Getting Sirius caught up on the last five years was one of the hardest things that Remus had ever done, and coming from a bisexual werewolf with a lot of dead friends, that was saying something. He knew that he shouldn’t feel bad about his relationship with Tonks. It wasn’t like he and Sirius were together before, but Remus knew that if Sirius had been around, he never would have considered dating her, let alone the rest of it, and that was a hard realisation to come to. Sirius wasn’t particularly fazed by it, which confused Remus even more.

Speaking of ‘the rest of it’, Teddy was enamoured by Sirius, well, mostly by Padfoot, but he was definitely a fan of having Sirius around the house, too. Harry (and various Weasleys and Hermione) were frequent visitors and Remus finally felt like he had family again.

Six weeks after Sirius’ return, they’d put Teddy to bed and had collapsed on the sofa, a tangle of limbs. Remus had missed moments like this, where he could pretend that in another lifetime something might happen between them. But then Sirius’ soft lips were on his and his hand was in Sirius’ hair and however good things had been before, he was sure they had nothing on what was to come.

Hogwarts Legacy spinoff/sequel wants

As an HL fan, I was absolutely pleased with the game--but for the next one, I'd like some changes/additions.

Make an Ilvermorny spinoff--As an American fan, it'd be so fun to see Ilvermorny in person, preferably in modern day; I'm still confused on how no-maj racism never existed in the Americas if most European purebloods didn't come to America, meaning that most American witches/wizards (of European heritage, at least) would be no-maj borns and half-bloods, and thus be influenced somewhat by no-maj ideals. Placing it in modern day would make it feel a bit more tolerant, imo.

GIVE EVERY HOUSE SOME LOVE WITH SIDEQUESTS--Ravenclaws got screwed terribly since Amit doesn't have his own storyline/quest like the other house representatives. It felt really unfair.

Flesh out the main character's background--It's never explained WHY the student is starting off as a 5th year, nor what kind blood heritage they have, despite this taking place in the late 19th century, when blood heritage would be even more important than it was when Harry Potter was alive a hundred years later. (And nit-pick, but it'd also be nice if we could say if they were from Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland, or another country).

Friendship meter--I like the idea that you can have your friends join you on quests outside of their personal ones, as long as you have a close enough bond with them. Plus it'd be great for diverging storylines; imagine if we could've convinced Sebastian not to use the killing curse if we were close enough with him. I guess that's "Hogwarts Mystery" rubbing off on me (one of the few things I liked about that game).

Romance options--This is probably a minority request, but I'd like the option. I think the devs said romance wasn't a factor because of your possible dark paths, which makes sense, but the aforementioned friendship meter could potentially alleviate this by convincing them to join you (or turn them away from their own dark path).

The option to be a metamorphagus or an animgus (or the sidequest to become one)--It'd be such a fun idea to use these powers on missions.

Change your face after initial designs--I remember being dissatisfied with my character's face after setting him up, and I was disappointed that I couldn't change it afterwards. It'd also be cool if we could experiment with their build/body type a bit.

A better story--Sebastian's sidestory was more interesting than the Goblin uprising, tbh. Even rehashing the blood purity storyline would've been better.

Trials that take place within the world--Maybe it was just me, but I didn't like how the trials took place within an alternate world (except Niamh's trial; hers was creative) rather than using the large world we already had.

Sidenote: If Remus and Sirius ever had Teddy, I like to think it was either:

(1) Accidental night with Tonks after Sirius went to the veil

(2) An evil wizard tried to make a half werewolf half metamorphagus Black family child

So writing these Remadora ficlets has me thinking a lot about my headcanons for them, and there's one big one that I believe that while it is strictly canon based off the original seven books does veer away from the author's writings on Pottermore.

I think that there was a time during OOTP, post Christmas but before the Ministry, where Remus and Tonks were in a relationship. A couple of months where Remus gave in and let himself be happy.

At this time he had a stable home, most likely easy and regular access to the Wolfsbane Potion. He had a community, he had one of his best friends back and here was this bright, witty, gorgeous witch who was interested in him.

It would have been easy for him during this time to start to think that maybe life didn't need to be so difficult, that he might have a chance to actually let himself be happy. But that all came to a sudden end with Sirius' death. Another person close to him was gone and suddenly he was without a home. He started to spiral into self-destruction and that included pushing Tonks away.

On Tonks' side, I don't find it believable that she would be so depressed that she lost her metamorphagus abilities over someone she'd never had a relationship with. According to Pottermore, she very strongly implied to Remus that she liked him, and that was enough for him to push her away, which in turn led to her depression.

I do think that her depression is exacerbated by her survivors guilt over Sirius' death, but I also think that's linked to Remus' self-destruction. If she had stopped Bellatrix and Sirius had survived, Remus would never have pushed her away. But if we go by Pottermore, Remus was pushing her away before the ministry, so whether she stopped Bellatrix or not, it wouldn't have had any effect on the outcome of her relationship with Remus.

The final reason I think they had a short lived relationship in OOTP is because of how quickly they got married. Dumbledore died on June 30th, and Tonks and Remus are already married when they collect Harry before his birthday. Even for wartime, that is an extremely short time between the start of a new relationship and getting married, especially without some kind of relationship to build on.

Idris (and Percival) didnt go to Hogwarts because their father kept sending the letters back with the reply saying his children would not be attending. Then he died and the twins were stuck in an orphanage. Professor Fig personally showed up to tell them about Hogwarts and magic and they decided to go 5th year

Gryffindor because they are a brave, noble, bold, and self-sacrifing fool and have an impulsive/recklessness problem

Idris gets an owl over the summer so they can stay in touch with people, specifically a snowy owl. They also get particularly attached to a pink Puffskein they rescue so they name her Flower

I cant explain it but its like they came to me in a vision. I had such a clear image of what i wanted them to look like

ive seen a few posts that have bothered me. i searched "remadora bad" on google to see what people were saying and it came up eith tumblrs and reddits etc and they were all really weird.

i recently got into the marauders fandom after reading atyd and being a fan of harry potter since i was a child, this fandom made me really happy because of the escapism it provided. many of us have loved hp and then realised its problematic aspects and seen jkr being the worst and no longer can escape with hp.. and marauders fandom is a much more inclusive and feels safe space. i do ship wolfstar and i want to get this straight because one post mentioned wolfstar shippers and it was definitely a weird take.

the post was about how women who ship two men together hate women because if theres a woman in the picture its always a crime against her i guess? they also touched on fetishisation of gay men in a way that seemed to be encapsulating all of these people into that message.

1. not everyone who ships two men hates women. i mean this is absurd 😭 it seemed much more like this poster was more anti fanon, which is odd. anyone who defends jkr instantly puts me off, i understand if someone is confused by not following canon when talking abt media.. but it shouldnt go so far as to licking jkrs ass saying "shes the author she knows best🤓🤓" we know shes the author, thats half the problem. anyway, i understand this point but it didnt work in the context they were using it for (remadora/wolfstar). the marauders fandom has been criticised for misogyny, but the generalisation of shippers all having that belief is just untrue.

2. fetishisation of gay men is most definitely prevelant in shipping spaces but it goes eithout saying that an entire community of people wont all have the same views and opinions. from personal experience, i have always been wary of fetishising gay men and recently realised that my special interests being shipping different gay relationships has been involved in my gender identity. im not really sure of anything yet but i am exploring being actually a man or gener fluid or non binary.. as i said i dont know yet but i have realised that i have always put myself in these ships, wanting to be one of the men in them (of course this hasnt been the sole reason im questioning my gender). generally, i think shipping is very fun and just a great way of exploring romance in your favourite medias that represent you - which is what many people in the marauders fandom express. i do understand this concern though - fetishisation is a real thing and these ships shouldnt be objectified to be apart of that. i just dont think we should automstically assume every shipper is fetishising gay ppl.

nothing ive talked abt has rlly been abt marauders so far but i just wanted to set up some context and rant abt that post tbh.

as ive grown, ive realised how forced remadora was in the movies. i always felt like it came out of nowhere but i was a kid and i didnt care enough to think abt it like i just wanted to see harry running through the grass and shit. anyway, ive watched a few viedos abt the marauders fandom and about jk rowlings problematic writing and i have a few points to make about remadora and tonks' and remus' characters respectively.

in ootp, tonks is introduced as a fun, independent, and rebellious person. they arent afraid to speak out abt their name to someone more experienced in the field (mad-eye) and they have bright purple hair so obviously they r cool and awesome. they are a metamorphagus(?) meaning they can change some parts of how they look. i, and many others, see this as a symbol of trans teens. correcting the feminine "nymphadora" to a more unisex "tonks", the fact they can literally change how they look (perhaps showing their desire to change themselves ehich many trans people relate to), and their overrall childlike attitude. i think rowling makes tonks young and fun to show immaturity, therefore the transcoded character is sort of displayed as an immature teen that doesnt know any better (insert jkrs transphobic tweets here).

THEN in hbp the newly called "dora" is married. not only is tonks feminised by heteronormativity (a big aspect of stereotypical femininity is marriage) but their general appearance and attitude has changed. her hair is now like a light brown, and this natural colour i feel may allude to the natural order of womanhood is to maybe go through a rebellious gender non conformity teenhood, but eventually we all "mature" into our "natural" womanhood.. may be a reach buut?? anyway, their dialogue in this movie is very small - i assume its different in the book, but i feel like either way their dialogue would be similarly all focusing on remus (way to fail the bechdel test) which ironically is more represantative of jkr hating woman soo the ship they r saying is the anti "gay shippers who hate women" is one of the many symbols of misogyny in jkrs books.. i mean idk if i need to say this but a woman isnt defined by being married/with a man and i feel like jkr is trying to present it that way.

jkr seems to have unintentionally presented her transphobic views in the character of tonks. many people related to tonks because of their gender fluidity and hbp disappointed many with this character development.

now, the age gap between remus and tonks is 13 years which is gross. especially when you think about the more childish representation of tonks in ootp, like theyve been matured in hbp for the purpose of making the relationship less weird? idk but this is a point that really irks me because many ppl ignore this and always conclude that ppl who dont like remadora are just wolfstar shippers and also hate tonks because they r a woman. even if i hated wolfstar id still hate remadora because of this gross age gap😭😭

another post was from like 10 yrs ago so, perhaps the opinions are just outdated considering jkrs problematic behaviour has become more of general knowledge in recent years but they basically were the common "he not gay jkr mad ehim be with woman he cant be gay 🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓" .. jkr has made lots of promises she couldnt keep.. like the whole can of worms that is the time turners (no cedric diggory would not become a death eater please go back to bed omg) so it really isnt unheard of that she could make a gay character and then just.. ruin it?

she definitely didnt intentionally make anyone gay, because she ahtes gay ppl, but remus and sirius are very commonly interpreted to be queer coded. loads of ppl mention this, but even david thewlis (remus lupin actor) read the characters as lovers. many people saw them as lovers so thought remus was gay, then saw him marry tonks and felt confused. of course he could just be bi but jkr wasnt writing that i dont think lolz EVEN if that was the case, remus is meant to be a good character so why is he getting with tonks who is so much younger than him, to me it makes no sense. which is why many people think remadora doesnt make sense, why many marauders fans, including myself, dont see remadora as what would happen. like im not saying that sirius would be a live and blah blah because im referring to a still canon compliant story, it just would not include remadora and its weird energy.

also, jkr said once that lycanthropy was a symbol for rhe aids crisis (thats not a gay allusion at all 🤗). and hootsyoutube makes a great point about how this is problematic. remus lupin is not the only werewolf in the series, greyback is another one that is apart of the wizard nazis and was the one who bit little 5 yr old baby remus lupin. so.. this is very predatory behaviour, i mean he sliterally biting people (like a lion eating a gazelle or sumn idk r u getting what im putting down 😭😭). now, what is a harmful and highly perpetuated stereotype against gay people.. you got it - predatory behaviour. jkr connects the aids crisis to werewolves who are (except remus) presented as predators who prey on little children 😝😝 amazing!!! SO jkr does allude to gay/bi remus buuut its also in a very evil very malevolent light because shes a witch cackling in the night

who’s your oldest OC compared to your newest?

I think my oldest oc is a multi use self insert for Harry Potter and Marvel (mostly for Marvel) named Quinn. She was a shapeshifter in Marvel daydreams and a metamorphagus in Harry Potter daydreams. I have since completely detached myself from Harry Potter entirely, and I don’t really care about Marvel anymore.

My newest is a batch done up all at once—my sanders sides ocs! Either that or one that has yet to be talked about…

last movie: 'cargo' from 2017, its an australian post apocalypse movie about a dad that gets infected with the apocolypse disease and then has to find someone in the australian bush/outback to look after his baby daughter before he loses control to the disease. i really liked it and one of its main themes is colonialism and indigenous people surviving which was really interesting to see explored in the post apocolypse context. the main guy is played by martin freeman which is yuck bc i hate him but the movie was good enough to make up for that

29. Share a bit from a fic you’ll never post OR from a scene that was cut from an already posted fic. 

Not sure I still have it, but I had to cut a bit from Steam where Tonks tells Fleur that she doesn't have to shave, and obvs Fleur was jealous. I liked it because:

A. It's a non-obvious about being a Metamorphagus which irl would both be not a big deal (it's just shaving) and also totally a big deal (it's quite a universal thing, so you might feel a bit alienated to not have to do it)

B. Fleur shaves! It felt important to acknowledge this- despite what Harry's-PoV-narrative voice would have us believe, Fleur does do normal human being things. And I wanted to mention that she chooses to titivate herself- she doesn't roll of bed looking how she does to Harry. And even beautiful girls grow body hair. It felt very important to include that.

C. Fleur being jealous of another girls' appearance-related-powers and greater ability to be "feminine" = lots of fun and important to include.

D. Every time women talk about their body hair, a fairy gets its wings.
